Hi, I am in a similar situation now where I have been taking this for about 8 years but I am feeling really ready to get off it now. How do you feel two years later? Do you feel happy, normal, balanced?
Whats up homegirl, so i know its been a a year since you went off this meds. I hope all is well, so check this out I was on lexapro and my crazy butt decided to just stop it completely I get crazy crazy insane brain zaps. I get super sweaty along with thoughts and its crazy but hey I know its just the process of going off. Ive been off then bout 10 days already and i was wondering how long did it take you to feel like the meds was finally off the medication ? Ive been on them for bout 7 or 8 years as well.
How long have been on Lexapro? I'm wanting to get of Ciprelex that I have been on for 2.5 years. I've weaning of similar meds like Clonazepam & it takes years to heal but it does happen! You are a great inspiration
Thank you for this. Sorry for what you're going through. I recently retired and didn't want to spend the rest of my life on Lexapro. I have a very supportive doctor who warned me what to expect but encouraged my decision. Your description of your withdrawal symptoms are exactly like mine. Thank God! I was wondering what else was up with my health, but it's all withdrawal symptoms. You have been a tremendous help to me. Thank you, God bless you, and have a great life!
I’m trying to wean off my Paroxetine I’ve been taking 40mg a day for almost 3 yrs. It freaking sucks bad, I’m feeling like I’m riding an emotional roller coaster. Also I’m having flu like symptoms and body aches. Support group and friends, family will be the best thing to help get through this
Need to reduce the dose in very small percentage steps over the period of six months to a year, I managed to do it in six months the first time I was on lexapro. The stupid thing about depression is it starts with a worry about something and goes round and round in the old brain till it nearly drives you bonkers! And most of the time it turns out to be nothing worth worrying about in the first place! Get well soon!
Going through this right now, glad I found your videos. EVERYTHING you mentioned I'm feeling, it's nice to feel not so alone and that the symptoms are common. Hope your doing well :) and everyone else on here too :)
I've been weaning down from 15mg to 5mg and now off completely and have to say its been really tough the past week and a bit and I'm now off them a good month or so. Extreme dizziness I could barely walk some days , having terrible mood swings where id get so frustrated and cry. May be its worse cause I actually stopped taking the 5mg before the packet was empty. Any advice on how to deal better with all this ?
It's amazing that some doctors who prescribe antidepressants aren't aware of the fact they create dependency and withdrawals, after even a brief discontinuation of 24 hours. This is mainly because of antidepressants factors.
Which is: the drug's product literature says Lexapro's not addictive, not to mention some psychiatrists don't know the difference between addiction and dependency, so it's difficult for them to treat.
Most importantly, antidepressants are formulated to create dependency while also preventing any street value., which is done under FDA mandate; otherwise, the drug[s] won't win FDA approval. So, the bottom line here is antidepressants are formulated to discourage you from stopping and punish you if you do.
Because the FDA wants those who take antipsychotics and antidepressants to stay on them.
Because Americans pharmaceutical lobby is the most powerful lobby in Washington, and they require payback for the money they invest in our political system.
Good luck on your journey.
I just started lexapro. I'm doing my research to plan out how I'm going to handle my life on meds and for the future. I'm a bit concern about side affects but for right now I believe this will help. I need to survive my chaotic life for the next two years since I'm loading myself with lot of classes and responsibilities to finish school. You video is really helpful to know what to expect, Im wondering if you could make another video about your life while lexapro and the beginnings on it.
Been on 10mg for a year. Considering getting off, but I feel I need to carve out a calmer period of time to try... I got on it for sleep and now I'm realizing just how much it's changed my personality during the day.
going trough withdraw venlafaxine, thats a hell
but i keep going
brainzaps and derealization and that bluh feeling tho nichtmares but im happy though, i slowly got my emotions back crying and then laughing its a roller coaster but keep going and take time the first 2 week do not do any tough thing guys believe me better to invest something in your hobby the first weeks
best of luck for the soldiers
GREAT VIDEO!!!!!! You're a ray of hope! I'm so happy for you and you seem so a live to me that you're making me feel a lot better about what I'm going through. I can totally relate to everything you said and I appreciate you taking the time to make this video. Clearly there aren't any answers in the medical world but at least we are here for each other and that's so important. you are absolutely adorable and I really truly thank you with my whole heart... after three months of withdrawal I finally decided to look at YouTube tonight. I've already done too much research online and I wish I had done it before I took any pill. That is not the case so I'm just going to plow right through this and with your support and the support of the other people on YouTube going through this I know we will make it and we will be successful. so kind of you to reach out to us. It makes all the difference in the world thanks sweetie
Hi...I'm also tampering my medication because I was put in Lexapro 10mg when I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder in fall of 2015. Like two months later I went to 20mg and stayed on that. It's been over a year and I can't say my life is great...I think it's manageable. I haven't had a panic attack in a year...but I feel side effects like...just low motivation, feeling not as sharp, or enjoying life like I used to, I often get passive suicidal thoughts, which it sounds sort of like depression...when I'm on an anti-depressant! I wish I had that emotional depth and interest in things...like I used to...I wish I had a sex drive and could develop feelings for people!
All that you are stating made me hesitate alot taking escitalopram. But why did you decide you want to tapper or quit lLexapro? (pardon my language I am not a native speaker)
Wish you go through that smoothly to the safe side.
Best Regards :)
Ali Kiddo thank you so much for making this video. I can't tell you how much I relate. I thought I was going totally over the edge. the intrusive thoughts are absolutely the hardest. no o e can relate. I'm trying very hard. and thank you
What you're doing with taking a tablet every second day is putting yourself into withdrawal every second day, it's not tapering, tapering is going much slower and at regular doses, thats misinformation from some stupid doctor about every second day to wean yourself off. As for your original depression look at your gut health. check out greenmed.com they also have lots of info that these meds have never done a thing except cause us all more problems. and Dr kelly Brogan. thx for sharing
Thanks for your reply....I'll keep trying to stay off any meds. It's just been tough since coming off paxil. I'm struggling with anxiety and concentration/focus at work....and the anxiety leads to depression, so it's a cycle. I just want to avoid any meds if I can. They just seem to do more damage than good.
I started on paxil but its too harsh for my brain. I switch to celexa and its been the best ssri for me. gets the job done with little side effects. lexapro is pretty much the same thing as celexa. same main chemical just slightly different. I would suggest celexa or lexapro as i found celexa was a little easier for me to tolerate. both are good tho
Did celexa help you? I'm off paxil almost 5 months, but I'm considering trying celexa or lexapro. Scared of either weight gain or sexual side effects (i'm 33, male), but I feel like I may need some medicinal support. Just unsure of celexa or lexapro
On today’s market there are many products with such orientation, but most popular is advertised brand Viagra tablets.
Appropriate tests show a positive result, which is about thirty per cent of all subjects. But here it is necessary to take into account the psychological aspect, since a positive result will not be at the unwillingness of sexual intimacy.
Cialis is yet another pill for impotence. Cialis and Viagra can be called brothers. Effectiveness of tablet lasts for about 30 hours. Cialis action when compared to Viagra, is faster. Cialis acts on the walls of blood vessels, preventing them from relaxing, thanks to the influence of substances that trigger it.
Cialis is admissible to the use of alcoholic beverages. The drug takes effect quickly, and the action is very long. What is best Cialis Viagra or Levitra
