Around two weeks ago I got swelling on my big toe and my ankle. I initially thought it was damage from using the stair master too much. Was very painful and could not walk on it. The ER thought it was gout. They did X-ray -negative, blood test everything normal except urate levels slightly high and joint fluid from ankle showed no crystals. The diagnosis is no gout. Initially prescribed codeine with limited success. One week later prescribed by GP, naproxen 500mg three times daily - almost back to normal.
My question is can this be gout even with negative results? Very confusing indeed,
I just got inflammation all over the body but all the labs came back negative. its been 3 months and i still have pain in my ears eyes muscles and joints. what can you recommend as a treatment? pls help
