X Ray what do the Dentist see

04:10
X-Rays are used extensively by doctors for it provides a thorough overview of one's dental chart. The panorama X-ray also known as Ortho-pantomogram (OPG) (alternatively known by the terms Orthopantogram or panorex) gives a panoramic dental X-ray of both the upper and lower jaws. It allows doctors to get a two-dimensional view of the patient's jaw and complete bone structure. Doctors and dentists make use of the panorama X-ray for evaluating and assessing the jaw joints, maxillary sinus, and composite bone structure of the upper and lower jaw, anterior nasal septum and even lower areas of the skull base. Using special X-ray shots like biting on a thin sheet of paper or rectangular X-ray, doctors can successfully carry out an assessment of the dental roots, jaws and caries. The dental X-ray is no different from any normal X-ray and thereby involves the same principles. It takes skill and experience for a dentist to correctly recognize the structures in the X-ray and to interpret them with exactness. The panoramic X-ray was initially conceived in the dental field so that dental practitioner can get a view of the complete jaw structure. Today, this X-ray technique is used for detecting abnormalities in other areas besides the jaw and mandible. Have a look at this video to know more about X-rays. http://www.checkdent.com

Operation of lung cancer

09:57
The deadliest form of cancer in the U.S., involving cells that originate in the bronchi or lung. The term includes four cell types: squamous cell (epidermoid) carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, large cell (anaplastic) cancer, and small cell (oat cell) cancer. INCIDENCE In 2013, the National Cancer Institute (NCI) estimated that more than 228,000 people would be diagnosed with lung cancer and that about 159,500 would die of the disease. It is the second most common cancer in both men and women. CAUSES The vast majority are caused by carcinogens in tobacco smoke, including secondhand smoke. Other risks include exposure to carcinogenic industrial and air pollutants (asbestos, uranium, arsenic, nickel, chromium, iron oxides, coal dust, and radioactive dusts), concentrations of radon gas, and familial susceptibility. SYMPTOMS AND SIGNS Symptoms may include persistent cough, chest pain, dyspnea, weight loss, or hemoptysis. Changes in normal respiratory patterns or hoarseness, as well as pneumonia, bronchitis, epigastric pain, symptoms of brain metastasis, arm or shoulder pain, or swelling of the upper body are other possible signs. DIAGNOSIS Diagnostic tests include a chest x-ray, computed tomography (CT) scan, cytological sputum analysis, and bronchoscopy. Other tests include needle biopsy, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), thoracentesis, thoracotomy, mediastinoscopy, or pulmonary function tests. TREATMENT Treatment includes lung surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy (including epidermal growth factor receptor blockers) often provided serially or in combination. PROGNOSIS People with localized lung cancer have an approx. 5-year survival of 50%. People with widely metastatic lung cancer have a 5-year survival of less than 5%. PATIENT CARE Staging determines the extent of the disease and aids in planning treatment and predicting the prognosis. Lung cancer is relatively difficult to cure but much easier to prevent. Children and adolescents should be discouraged from smoking tobacco products, and current smokers should be assisted in their efforts to quit, e.g., through referrals to local branches of the American Cancer Society (ACS), smoking-cessation programs, individual counseling, or group therapy. SCREENING AND PUBLIC HEALTH Chest x-rays do not show small, early cancers, but computed tomography (CT) scanning can be used to screen people who have a long history of smoking and evidence of emphysema. In this high-risk group, screening detects the disease in its early stages when it is most likely to be curable. Smokers over the age of 55 who undergo annual lung cancer screening with low-dose CT scans have improved survival relative to those who do not. However, the public health costs of mass screening are high compared with the cost of encouraging smokers to quit or teaching teenagers not to start smoking. Screening for Throat Cancer

01:52
A persistent sore throat, a lump in the neck, even voice change, doctors say all could be signs of throat cancer. While it can be a difficult diagnosis, ear nose and throat doctors use special equipment to screen patients for throat cancer. “We use a camera that actually goes in the nose and goes down and looks at the throat. It’s a very small camera,” explained Dr. Justin Casey, an otolaryngologist on the medical staff of Lee Health. As the number of patients diagnosed with throat cancer continues to rise, doctors say screenings are becoming more common. “In the next 20 years, so by the year 2030, we're going to see a 60 to 70 percent increase in the incidence of throat cancer,” said Dr. Casey. The increase is caused by the human papillomavirus, or HPV, which is the same virus that causes cervical cancer in women. Studies show almost 70 percent of throat cancer cases are caused by HPV. “Interestingly, over the past five years or so throat cancer has now become more prevalent than cervical cancer,” said Dr. Casey. For many patients, the HPV virus will clear on its own, but for others, the virus persists putting them at risk for cancer. “Based on the studies between one and four percent of woman and about five to ten percent of men seem to develop a long-term infection. It’s believed that a very small subset of these people will go on to develop throat cancer,” said Dr. Casey. Throat cancer is typically treated with chemotherapy and radiation. “The treatment targets the cancer cells; it doesn’t target the HPV. These patients with the HPV virus are still at risk for developing the virus somewhere else,” said Dr. Casey. Doctors encourage patients to pay attention to warning signs and get the HPV vaccine between the ages of 9 and 26. Be careful: The First Signs And Symptoms Of Lung Cancer That You Should Not Ignore

05:05
Be careful: The First Signs And Symptoms Of Lung Cancer That You Should Not Ignore First. Lung cancer is the second most common cancer in men and women, and the leading cause of cancer death according to the American Cancer Society. While you may think that smokers are the only segment of the population at risk for lung cancer, you may be surprised to know that twenty percent of lung cancer deaths are people who do not smoke. The American Cancer Society explains that air pollution, secondhand smoke, gas, and cancer-causing agents, such as asbestos and gas oil, are the main risk factors for lung cancer. The best defense against lung cancer is to know the first signs and symptoms. The sooner you visit your doctor and the sooner the cancer is diagnosed, the better chance of recovery. Continue reading to learn about the first signs and symptoms of lung cancer. Frequent illness. If you have noticed a spike in your frequency of illnesses such as colds, flu, bronchitis or pneumonia, you should talk to your doctor about the possible causes of your depressed immune system. Dr. Kelley says that when cancer sits in lung tissue and bronchial tubes, the lungs become more susceptible to the disease. Unexplained weight loss. If you have lost interest in food or feel full quickly after eating, lung cancer may be affecting your appetite. Dr. Kelley recommends having a notebook to record symptoms and possible causes, such as food poisoning, food allergy, PMS in women, or gastrointestinal diseases. If the cause is unexplained, you need the attention of your doctor. Pain of the fingers. You may be surprised to know that thick and painful fingertips are a typical symptom of lung cancer. This is because lung tumors release chemicals in the bloodstream that stimulate the growth of bones and tissues at the fingertips and under the nails. Dr. Kelley says that you should tell your doctor about any thickening, swelling, or tapping on your fingers. Pain in the torso. If you experience persistent dull pain in the chest, shoulder, back, or abdomen, you may be experiencing direct pressure from a lung tumor. According to Dr. Kelley, chest pain is a symptom in one in four patients with lung cancer. Hoarsely. If your voice sounds a little hoarse or if you feel pain when swallowing or talking, you may have lung cancer. NHS Choices says that this common symptom is a reason to call your doctor, especially when accompanied by a persistent cough, wheezing or coughing up blood. Shortness of breath. This is a common symptom in women who are often misdiagnosed as a side effect of age or inactivity. Shortness of breath is a sign of adenocarcinoma, the most common form of lung cancer in women. Weakness in the upper limbs. Weakness in the upper limbs, loss of coordination and muscle cramps are all symptoms of paraneoplastic syndrome, a condition related to lung cancer in which hormonal substances are secreted by tumors. Breast growth in men. One less talked about symptom in male lung cancer patients is enlargement of the breast around and under the nipple. Dr. Kelley explains that this is a symptom of paraneoplastic syndrome, caused by the release of hormones, proteins and other substances into the bloodstream. https://youtu.be/cALmN0f5w_g

CT scan - Lung cancer

01:01
My mom (age:64) Asian diagnosed with lung cancer. Summary: She is diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer with rib cage bone metastasis. X-ray, CT on Thorax and Adomen, MRI on spine, blood test, Sputum cytology taken. CT scan show diffused nodules on both lung with consolidation on the upper left lobe. MRI shows compression fracture on T9 and T12 and minor press on spinal code. Blood test shows elevation of CEA tumor marker, 50x of normal reading. Sputum cytology suspect of Adenocarcinomas. Treatments: She has RT therapy for 2 weeks to treat the back pain followed by a week rest before Iressa intake for 6 days. Before the Iressa, she is on oxygen support but she is able to put it off for hours. After the iressa, she relied on the oxygen support more heavily and still breathless. There is an acute onset of dyspnea or worsening of the breathlessness, with cough and fever. She is under antibiotic and cough mixture to control the lung infection. Diagnosis (details) before treatment: Radiograph of the chest - There are extensive patchy confluent parenchymal opacities in both lungs with a larger opacity in the left upper/mid lung (measuring 3 x 4 cm); these are likely of infectious etiology. An underlying mass in the left upper/mid lung cannot be excluded. There are no pleural effusions. The heart size is within normal limits.Mild degenerative changes of the spine are noted. Blood Test: Alphafetoprotein 13 ug/L (0-9 normal) CEA 252 ug/L (0-5 normal) CA125 15 U/mL (0-35 normal) CA19-9 12 U/mL (0-35 normal) Sputum cytology - Atypical cells suspicious of adenocarcinoma (3ml of bloodstained mucoid fluid was used, 4 slides examined show a moderate cell yield. Atypical cells showing enlarged nuclei with coarse chromatin and pleomorphic nucleoli are noted. The cytoplasm are vacuolated. Microorganism and inflammatory cells including neutrophils and lymphocytes are noted in the background) CT THORAX AND ABDOMEN IV contrast-enhanced multi-slice contiguous axial sections of the thorax and abdomen were obtained. Total 90 ml of intravenous Omnipaque 350 were administered as contrast medium. Comparison was made with previous study dated 05/02/07. Diffuse subcentimeter nodules are seen in both lungs with areas of coalescence. Collapse consolidation of the anterior segment of the left upper lobe with some heterogeneous enhancement near the hilum. There is no pleural effusion detected. The tracheobronchial tree is unremarkable. Enlarged right paratracheal, pertracheal, subcarinal and bilateral hilar lymph nodes are noted. A few right supraclavicular and left axillary lymph nodes are also seen. The mediastinal vessels, cardiac chambers show normal opacification. The visualized thoracic aorta is of normal caliber with no significant thrombus formation. The liver is enlarged and again shows multiple large cysts. Mild interval increase in size of the segment 6 cyst now measuring 10.3x8.3 cm. This is seen displacing the right kidney inferiorly. No suspicious focal lesion is seen. The hepatic and portal vessels show normal enhancement. The biliary tree is not dilated. Gallstones are seen. No evidence of cholecystitis. The visualized pancreas, spleen, kidneys, adrenals and opacified bowel loops are unremarkable. Multiple sclerotic foci are noted along the sternum, thoracolumbar and sacral spine compatible with mestastasis. Compression fracture of T9 vertebral bodies noted. Metastatic body lesions involving the left scapula, right 6th, left 4th, 9th and 10th ribs are noted. Comment: - Collapse of the anterior segment of the left upper lobe with some heterogeneous enhancement near the hilum. Underlying malignancy cannot be excluded. Bronchoscopic biopsy is suggested. - The pulmonary nodules in both lungs are suggestive of metastasis. - Mediastinal lumphadenopathy - Diffuse bony metastasis as described above. - Hepatic cysts, the one in segment 6 showing mild interval increase in size. - Gallstones.

Oral Cancers, How To Check For Mouth For Cancer

09:26
Oral Cancers. Overview: Oral cancer is a cancer that develops in the tissues of the mouth or throat. It belongs to a larger group of cancers called head and neck cancers. Most develop in the squamous cells found in your mouth, tongue, and lips. Oral cancers are most often discovered after they have spread to the lymph nodes of the neck. Early detection is key to surviving oral cancer. Types of oral cancers:. Oral cancers include cancers of the: *lips. *tongue. *cheek. *gums. *floor of the mouth. *hard and soft palate. Your dentist is often the first healthcare provider to notice signs of oral cancer. Risk factors for developing oral cancer:. One of the biggest risk factors for oral cancer is tobacco use. This includes smoking cigarettes, cigars, and pipes, as well as chewing tobacco. People who consume large amounts of alcohol and tobacco are at an even greater risk, especially when both products are used on a regular basis. Other risk factors include:. *HPV infection (a sexually transmitted virus). *chronic facial sun exposure. *a previous diagnosis of oral cancer. *a family history of oral or other types of cancer. *being male. What are symptoms of oral cancer?. Symptoms of oral cancer include:. *a sore on your lip or mouth that won’t heal. *a mass or growth anywhere in your mouth. *bleeding from the mouth. *loose teeth. *pain or difficulty with swallowing. *trouble wearing dentures. *lump in neck. *earache that won’t go away. *dramatic weight loss. *lower lip, face, neck, or chin numbness. *white, red and white, or red patches in mouth or lips. If you notice any of these symptoms, especially if they don’t go away or you have more than one at a time, visit your dentist or doctor as soon as possible. How is oral cancer diagnosed?. First, your doctor or dentist will perform a physical exam. This includes closely examining the roof and floor of your mouth, the back of your throat, tongue, and cheeks, and the lymph nodes in your neck. If your doctor cannot determine why you’re having your symptoms, you may be referred to an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialist. If your doctor finds any tumors, growths, or suspicious lesions, they will perform a brush biopsy or a tissue biopsy. A brush biopsy is a painless test that collects cells from the tumor by brushing them onto a slide. A tissue biopsy involves removing a piece of the tissue so it can be examined under a microscope for cancerous cells. In addition, your doctor may perform one or more of the following tests:. *X-rays to see if cancer cells have spread to the jaw, chest, or lungs. *CT scan to reveal any tumors in your mouth, throat, neck, lungs, or elsewhere in your body. *PET scan to determine if the cancer has traveled to lymph nodes or other organs. *MRI scan to show a more accurate image of the head and neck, and determine the extent or stage of the cancer. *endoscopy to examine the nasal passages, sinuses, inner throat, windpipe, and trachea. What are the stages of oral cancer?. There are four stages of oral cancer. Stages 1 and 2 usually involve a small tumor. In these stages, cancer cells have not spread to the lymph nodes. Stages 3 and 4 are considered advanced stages of cancer. In these stages, tumors are large and the cancer cells have usually spread to the lymph nodes or other parts of the body. The survival rate after one year for all stages of oral cancer is 81 percent. After five years, the survival rate is 56 percent, and after 10 years it’s 41 percent. The earlier the stage at diagnosis, the higher the chance of survival after treatment. This makes timely diagnosis and treatment all the more important. How is oral cancer treated?. Treatment for oral cancer will vary depending on the type, location, and stage of the cancer at diagnosis. Treatment for early stages usually involves surgery to remove the tumor and cancerous lymph nodes. In addition, other tissue around the mouth and neck may be taken out. Radiation therapy is another option. This involves a doctor aiming radiation beams at the tumor once or twice a day, five days a week, for two to eight weeks. Treatment for advanced stages will usually involve a combination of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Chemotherapy is treatment with drugs that kill cancer cells. The medicine is given to you either orally or through an intravenous (IV) line. Most people get chemotherapy on an outpatient basis, although some require hospitalization. Targeted therapy is another form of treatment. It can be effective in both early and advanced stages of cancer. Targeted therapy drugs will bind to specific proteins on cancer cells and interfere with their growth. All Photos Licensed Under CC Source : www.pexels.com www.pixabay.com www.commons.wikimedia.org

Radiation for Throat Cancer

10:07
In 2011 I went through treatment for stage IV throat cancer. It was in my left tonsil. It is a curable cancer but the treatment is brutal and the side effects can be life changing and permanent. I post this video so that those facing this treatment and their friends and family will know what one session of radiation is like. I went through 33 rounds of radiation and 3 rounds of chemo (Cisplatin). In this video the you see the first part where I am placed on the table (my feeding tube visible under my shirt) and the radiation mask snapped down. The techs leave the room and the next part is the daily x-ray to check my position and the alignment of the machine. At 7:38 the actual delivery of radiation begins with two arcs encompassing my neck. At 11:33 the machine stops in front of my face, directing a concentrated beam directly at the tumor through my mouth. Have questions about what to expect? Contact me through the comments and I'll be glad to tell you about my experience and survival. BTW I am also an RN.

CT scan gathers more detailed information. CT scans have not been shown to cause long-term harm, although there may be a very small potential to increase your risk of cancer. Although there are concerns about radiation exposure during X-ray and CT scan, no adverse effects due to this level of exposure have been found yet. CA Dentist REFUSES PATIENT: for Refusing Deadly X-RAYS

37:40
DarylLawsonLive.com Dental x-rays can cause brain tumors (NaturalNews) Most of us know that radiation from X-rays can be harmful to our body. High amounts of radiation exposure can increase the risk of several types of cancer. Ionizing radiation from X-rays can potentially damage the DNA. A recent study published in Cancer, Journal of the American Cancer Society, provides further evidence about the dangers of X-rays. This study shows that frequent dental X-rays are linked to brain tumor called meningioma. Dental x-ray exams significantly increase risk of brain tumor This research found that people who received dental X-rays frequently were more than twice as likely to develop meningioma. Meningioma is the most common and potentially debilitating type of non-cancerous brain tumor. This tumor occurs in the meninges, which is the membrane that is around the spinal cord and the brain. Some of the effects of meningioma are headaches, problems with vision, loss of speech and motor control. These tumors may not be detected for several years until the size of the tumor gets large. Based on the research findings, the bitewing and panorex dental X-ray exams increase the risk of developing the brain tumor. Patients who received bitewing x-ray exams annually or more frequently were more than twice as likely to develop meningioma. In a bitewing exam, the X-ray film is held between the teeth. Receiving a panorex exam annually or more frequently increased the risk even more. The individuals in the group receiving panorex exam were three times more likely than the control group to develop a tumor. Panorex dental exam is the exam in which the dentist uses an external device to take the X-ray of the entire set of the teeth. Children under ten years old are most vulnerable to radiation According to the study findings, children under 10 years old were the most vulnerable group. Since children are still growing, the cells in the body are more sensitive to radiation. As a result, the radiation affects them more than the adults. Children exposed to radiation from dental X-rays had five times the risk of developing a tumor. Some critics of the study argue that the frequency of dental X-ray exams was based on what the volunteers remembered. They argue that not many people remember past events. So a better study is needed to strengthen the link between dental X-ray and brain tumor. Challenge your dentist whether you really need the dental X-ray So what do the research findings mean for all of us? Basically we have to be aware of the dangers of unnecessary X-rays. When you go to the dentist's office, usually the dentist will recommend an X-ray during each visit. You can ask your dentist whether the X-ray is really necessary. Especially if you have a child who has no risk of dental cavity, you can challenge your dentist that an X-ray may cause more harm than benefits. Dr. Keith Black, chairman of neurosurgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, wrote about the dangers of frequent dental X-rays among young children in his 2009 book , "Brain Surgeon: A Doctor's Inspiring Encounters with Mortality and Miracles." The main reason for his concern is that the X-rays are aimed at not only the jaw but also the lower brain. Dr. Black claims that he hasn't had a dental X-ray in 20 years. Skipping unnecessary X-ray exams is also a great way to save money. Some of the dental exams cost several hundred dollars and these exams may or may not be covered by insurance. And the most common change is something growing on your skin. This growth can appear on the skin in many ways. The following explains the signs (what you see) and symptoms (what you feel) of the most common types of skin cancer. Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) This is the most common type of skin cancer. It most often appears on skin that gets lot of sun, such as the face, scalp, neck, hands, and arms. You will find BCCs on other parts of the body, too. It can appear on parts of the body that did not get lots of sun, such as the genitals. BCC often grows slowly. It may look like a: Reddish patch of dry skin that won’t heal Flesh-colored (or pink, red, or brown) pearl-shaped lump Pimple that just won’t clear Sore that bleeds, heals, and then returns Scar that feels waxy — may be skin-colored, white, or yellow Group of slow-growing, shiny pink or red growths — look like sores, often scaly and bleed easily Flat or sunken growth — feels hard, may be white or yellow Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) This is a very common type of skin cancer. It often appears on skin that got lots of sun, such as an ear, face, bald scalp, neck, or arm. But it can appear elsewhere — even inside the mouth, on the lip, or on the genitals. Too much sun is often the cause, but it is not the only cause. SCC can appear on skin that was badly burned, had lots of radiation (such as x-rays), or was exposed to strong chemicals. SCC often has a reddish color. Without treatment, it can grow deeply. If this happens, the cancer can spread to other parts of the body. This can be deadly. SCC often looks like a: Hard (scaly or crusty) reddish bump, patch, or pearl-shaped growth Open sore that itches and bleeds; it can heal and return Scaly patch on the lip; skin on the lip can get thick Melanoma Know where you have moles on your skin! Melanoma often appears in an existing mole or looks like a new mole. By knowing where you have moles on your skin, you can find melanoma when it first appears. When treated early, melanoma is often curable. Here’s what to looks for: A mole on the skin that is growing, changing shape, or changing color A mole that looks scaly, oozes, or bleeds New dark spot on the skin that looks like a mole, but grows quickly Pain, itch, or bleeding in a new spot on the skin Streak (usually brown or black) underneath a fingernail or toenail Bruise on the foot that does not heal Vastu & Astrology : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbhc-xEKXBrPHPevA2ibJxQ Dharm अाैर Science : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_7ylmMqDS92eLK6NY76Y6w Difference & Similarities : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTIp54Q_dyw1o2etqsoeXiw What If ….कया हो अगर : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnsIAaPFcrUdOAtAJ3fokEA Parenting & Lifestyle : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChx9OYduRzQsdvyQBRIAq8A Shrimad Home Remedies : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3oHEjYN8K8eSH2LDq--5eQ Ghar Ka Khana : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTnETM8SXLVChvnf6wAfyxg Teej Tyohar - https://c.mp.ucweb.com/personal/index/58f59d88bae5476db984a49f3e5b5a8a?uc Guru Ka Gyan - https://c.mp.ucweb.com/personal/index/d4fd204f35014a458bb80deacbb4a925?uc Shreemad Home Remidies - https://c.mp.ucweb.com/personal/index/1ad6051206a446739f7e4fbf6f72035c?uc Ghar Ka Khana - https://c.mp.ucweb.com/personal/index/93f4321fdb504bec8e7ed24ae784b728?uc Teej Tyohar - https://c.mp.ucweb.com/personal/index/58f59d88bae5476db984a49f3e5b5a8a?uc Guru Ka Gyan - https://c.mp.ucweb.com/personal/index/d4fd204f35014a458bb80deacbb4a925?uc Shreemad Home Remidies - https://c.mp.ucweb.com/personal/index/1ad6051206a446739f7e4fbf6f72035c?uc Ghar Ka Khana - https://c.mp.ucweb.com/personal/index/93f4321fdb504bec8e7ed24ae784b728?uc All gherelu nushke are there, any medicine should to taken according to doctor prescription. EARLY SIGNS OF LUNG CANCER TO WATCH OUT FOR

06:33
Lung cancer, also known as carcinoma of the lung or pulmonary carcinoma, is a malignant lung tumor characterized by uncontrolled cell growth in tissues of the lung. If left untreated, this growth can spread beyond the lung by process of metastasis into nearby tissue or other parts of the body. The vast majority (80–90%) of cases of lung cancer are due to long-term exposure to tobacco smoke. About 10–15% of cases occur in people who have never smoked. These cases are often caused by a combination of genetic factors and exposure to radon gas, asbestos, or other forms of air pollution, including second-hand smoke. Worldwide, lung cancer is the most common cancer among men in terms of both incidence and mortality, and among women has the third highest incidence, and is second after breast cancer in mortality. Learn the signs of lung cancer to catch the disease early and ensure a positive outcome. Below are some early signs of lung cancer according to healthline.com. No Warning Lung cancer may not produce any noticeable symptoms in the early stages. In approximately 40 percent of people diagnosed with lung cancer, the diagnosis is made after the disease has advanced. In one third of those diagnosed, the cancer has reached stage 3. Cough That Won’t Quit Be on alert for a new cough that lingers. While a cough associated with a cold or respiratory infection will go away in a week or two, a persistent cough that lingers can be a possible sign of lung cancer. Don’t be tempted to dismiss a stubborn cough, whether it is dry or mucus-producing, as “just a cough.” Change in a Cough Pay attention to any changes in a chronic cough, particularly if you are a smoker. If you are coughing more often, your cough has a deeper or hoarse sound, or you are coughing up blood or more mucus than usual, it’s time to make a doctor’s appointment. Breathing Changes Shortness of breath or becoming easily winded are also possible symptoms of lung cancer. This symptom can occur if lung cancer blocks or narrows an airway, or if fluid from a lung tumor builds up in the chest. Make a point of noticing when you feel winded or short of breath. If this symptom occurs after climbing the stairs to your house, bringing in groceries, or performing another task you could previously do without finding it hard to breathe, don’t ignore it. Pain in the Chest Area Lung cancer may produce pain in the chest, shoulder, or back area. This aching feeling may not be associated with coughing. Tell your doctor if you notice any type of chest pain, whether it is sharp, dull, constant, or comes and goes. You should also note whether it is confined to a specific area or is occurring throughout your chest. When lung cancer causes chest pain, the discomfort may result from enlarged lymph nodes or metastasis to the chest wall, pleura (lining around the lungs), or the ribs. Wheezing When airways become constricted, blocked, or inflamed, the lungs produce a wheezing or whistling sound when you breathe. Wheezing can be associated with multiple causes, some of which are benign and easily treatable. However, wheezing is also a lung cancer symptom, which is why it merits your doctor’s attention. If wheezing continues, don’t assume it’s asthma or allergies. Have your doctor confirm what’s causing it. Raspy, Hoarse Voice If you hear a significant change in your voice, or if someone else points out that your voice sounds deeper, hoarse, or raspier, get checked out by your doctor. Hoarseness can be caused by a simple cold, but this symptom becomes worrisome when it hangs on for more than two weeks. Hoarseness related to lung cancer can occur when the tumor affects the nerve that controls the larynx, or voice box. Drop in Weight An unexplained weight loss of 10 pounds or more may be associated with lung cancer or another type of cancer. When cancer is present, this weight drop may result from cancer cells using energy in the body. It could also result from shifts in the way the body uses food energy. Don’t write off a change in your weight if you haven’t been trying to shed pounds—it may be a clue to a change in your health. Bone Pain Lung cancer that has spread to the bones may produce pain in the back or in other areas of the body. This pain may worsen at night while resting on the back. Additionally, lung cancer is sometimes associated with shoulder, arm, or neck pain, although this is less common. Be attentive to your aches and pains, and discuss them with your doctor. Headache Headaches may be a sign that lung cancer has spread to the brain. However, not all headaches in people with lung cancer are associated with brain metastases. Sometimes, a lung tumor may create pressure on the superior vena cava, which is the large vein that moves blood from the upper body to the heart. This pressure can also trigger headaches. Talk with your doctor if your body shows these symptoms.

Endoscopy Polypectomy of Polyp of Descending Colon

09:37
Endoscopy Polypectomy of Polyp of Descending Colon This is a 21 year old lady that presented with Gi bleeding a colonoscopy was performed finding this ulcerated polyp that was removed with polypectomy TYPES OF COLON POLYPS The most common types of polyps are hyperplastic and adenomatous polyps. Other types of polyps can also be found in the colon, although these are far less common and are not discussed here. Hyperplastic polyps — Hyperplastic polyps are usually small, located in the end-portion of the colon (the rectum and sigmoid colon), have no potential to become malignant, and are not worrisome. It is not always possible to distinguish a hyperplastic polyp from an adenomatous polyp based upon appearance during colonoscopy, which means that hyperplastic polyps are often removed or biopsied to allow microscopic examination. Adenomatous polyps — Two-thirds of colon polyps are adenomas. Most of these polyps do not develop into cancer, although they have the potential to become cancerous. Adenomas are classified by their size, general appearance, and their specific features as seen under the microscope. As a general rule, the larger the adenoma, the more likely it is to eventually become a cancer. As a result, large polyps are usually removed completely to prevent cancer and for microscopic examination to guide follow-up testing. Malignant polyps — Polyps that contain pre-cancerous or cancerous cells are known as malignant polyps. The optimal treatment for malignant polyps depends upon the extent of the cancer (when examined with a microscope) and other individual factors. COLON POLYP DIAGNOSIS Polyps usually do not cause symptoms but may be detected during a colon cancer screening examination (such as flexible sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy) (picture 1) or after a positive fecal occult blood test. Polyps can also be detected on a barium enema x-ray, although small polyps are more difficult to see with x-ray. Colonoscopy is the best way to evaluate the colon because it allows the physician to see the entire lining of the colon and remove any polyps that are found. During colonoscopy, a physician inserts a very thin flexible tube with a light source and small camera into the anus. The tube is advanced through the entire length of the large intestine (colon). The inside of the colon is a tube-like structure with a flat surface with curved folds. A polyp appears as a lump that protrudes into the inside of the colon (picture 1). The tissue covering a polyp may look the same as normal colon tissue, or, there may be tissue changes ranging from subtle color changes to ulceration and bleeding. Some polyps are flat ("sessile") and others extend out on a stalk ("pedunculated"). Colonoscopy is also the best test for the follow-up examination of polyps. Virtual colonoscopy using CT technology is another test used to detect polyps in specific circumstances. COLON POLYP REMOVAL Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States, accounting for 14 percent of cancer deaths. Colorectal cancer is preventable if precancerous polyps (ie, adenomas) are detected and removed before they become malignant (cancerous). Over time, small polyps can change their structure and become cancerous. Polyps are usually removed when they are found on colonoscopy, which eliminates the chance for that polyp to become cancerous. Procedure — The medical term for removing polyps is polypectomy. Most polypectomies can be performed through a colonoscope. Small polyps can be removed with an instrument that is inserted through the colonoscope and snips off small pieces of tissue. Larger polyps are usually removed by placing a noose, or snare, around the polyp base and burning through it with electric cautery. The cautery also helps to stop bleeding after the polyp is removed. Polyp removal is not painful because the lining of the colon does not have the ability to feel pain. In addition, a sedative medication is given before the colonoscopy to prevent pain caused by stretching of the colon. Rarely, a polyp will be too large to remove during colonoscopy, which means that a surgical procedure will be needed at a later time.

Sharon Kelly: Cannabis Killed My Terminal Stage IV Lung Cancer(Original Video)

Hi Everyone, This is my first time making a YouTube, I got a bit nervous & emotional but my intent is to give others HOPE, so please overlook my mistakes & delivery. My Story in brief: (Book to follow) Monday 16th December 2013 I had been complaining of a small niggling pain on my left side around my ribs for a few days but nothing too bad. I’d had an hour massage on the previous Friday so I thought that I was just feeling the after effects of that. As the days went on when I took a big deep breath I did have slight pain on my left side. So I got it checked out. On Thursday 19th December 2013 an ED Doctor found a mass on my left lung after a chest X-Ray this was quickly followed by CT with contrast. The ED Doctor came out & motioned for us to come into her office & sit down not saying a word. She opened the conversation with I’m so very sorry…..what?? I’m so very sorry. There appears to be a sizable mass in your left lung – what? What is it? Have you ever smoked? What? No? Never! The look on the Doctors face said it all. There seemed to be silence, just her looking at me & time seemed to be slowed down somehow. She kept saying sorry, sorry to give you this news so close to Christmas. What? She said she has contacted a Respiratory Registrar to come down to see me to book in for a biopsy of the mass. My head was spinning! I recall saying a number of times, what? No? What? I don’t smoke, I never have, what? Well we can remove it right? What? It’s like I could hear myself saying the same thing over & over but I couldn’t stop. But I’m so healthy. What? No? It really did feel like she was talking about someone else. It didn’t feel real. I was thinking to myself, it will be fine, Doctors will operate & take it out somehow, and it will be fine. But it wasn’t fine. After several attempts to biopsy the tumour, finally on Monday 13th January 2014 the Doctors were able to get a sample via a CT guided chest/lung biopsy through my back. The X-Ray taken 4 hours after to check the lung, showed a minor haemorrhage around the left lung mass & as a bonus they managed to give me a pneumothorax (partially collapsed lung). Wednesday 15th January we got the results, Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (adenocarcinoma) & a PET SCAN was booked to see if it had spread. As I was a non-smoker the Doctors were convinced that the lung would not be my primary. Friday 17th January 2014 – PET SCAN. The lung was the primary, 5cm mass, 2 lymph nodes in the chest & one in the base of the neck, fluid around my heart, and cancer in the pleura or lining of the lung. The Doctors told me as it had spread to the lining of my lung & lymph nodes they classified me as stage IV Terminal Lung Cancer with a prognosis of 6-9mth to live. Thursday 30th January 2014 1st chemo (5hrs) Thursday 6th February 2014 2nd Chemo (1hour) Friday 14th February 2014 we found out that the biopsy taken was EGFR positive mutation, so no more chemo, yah! Thursday 20th February 2014 start TARCEVA 150mg tablets (Erlotinib) Tuesday 25th February 2014 start juicing heaps of fresh cannabis leaves Wednesday 26th February 2014 my Husband cooked 1st batch of cannabis oil Sunday 20th April 2014 my Husband cooked 2nd batch of cannabis oil Tuesday 22nd April 2014 we received cannabis oil from an experienced Medical Cannabis activist that was prepared to help Tuesday 20th May 2014 we started experimenting with suppositories & eventually by mixing .5ml of organic coconut oil with .5ml cannabis oil in a 1ml syringe just straight up & in we call it ‘the backdoor method’. I believe that this was our break through & also with this method I experienced no ‘high’ & was able to have the full 1ml of cannabis oil per day as what was recommended for an aggressive cancer. Wednesday 3rd September 2014 PET scan Conclusion: complete metabolic response. Residual non-FDG avid scar tissue in the left upper lobe corresponding to the site of the previously intense FDG avid primary malignancy. NO CANCER!!! Yes, there is a lot more detail that I could go into but this is just a quick look at my year so far. I hope it helps someone if so, please let me know. Signs And Symptoms of Colon Cancer You Should Not Ignore

10:11
Descriptions of Warning Signs of Colon Cancer You Shouldn’t Ignore: According to the American Cancer Society, 1 in 20 people are at a risk of developing colorectal cancer during their lifetime must get colon cancer clinical trials.. The exact cause of colorectal or bowel cancer is not known. However, it is believed to develop when healthy cells become abnormal and start growing in number and accumulate in the lining of the colon, forming polyps. Left untreated, polyps may become cancerous. As it can be difficult to treat colon cancer after it spreads to nearby areas, it is important to know what the early symptoms are. This can help you seek early treatment and give you a better chance in recovery at all you must do colon cancer treatment options and know early about what is treatment for colon cancer. Here are the top 5 sign and symptoms of colorectal cancer. 1. Constipation 01:02 Constipation is an important sign of cancer in the colon. A 2011 study published in the Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention highlights the link between constipation and colorectal cancer risk. An earlier 2004 study published in the European Journal of Cancer supported the hypothesis that constipation or laxative use increases the risk of colon cancer. A tumor present at the far end of the colon can make it very difficult to eliminate waste products, thereby causing constipation. If you persistently have fewer bowel movements per week, without any prior problem of constipation, consult your doctor to find out the exact cause. 2. Diarrhea 01:59 If you suffer from diarrhea for more than a couple of weeks, it may be an early symptom of colon cancer. When a tumor partially obstructs the bowel, it can cause alternating constipation and diarrhea due to leakage of liquid stool. You may also experience frequent gas, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. Plus, a tumor may irritate or narrow the lining of the intestine. It is important to consult your doctor when you have diarrhea that lasts more than a few days, as it can lead to dehydration, drain your body of nutrients and signal other serious problems, such as cancer. 3. Blood in Stools 02:35 Most often, blood in the stool is due to piles (hemorrhoids), where the veins in the back passage become fragile and cause a little bleeding during a bowel movement. This type of bleeding is generally red. However, if you notice dark red or black blood in your stool, it can be a sign of cancer, such as bowel, rectal or colon cancer. It can also be due to a stomach ulcer. Whether bleeding is due to piles, a stomach ulcer or cancer, it’s important to get it checked by a doctor. Proper diagnosis is essential for appropriate treatment. 4. Constant Feeling of a Bowel Movement 03:25 If you have a constant feeling of urgently needing to have a bowel movement or to strain but no stool is passed, it is not a good sign. This feeling can occur even after having a bowel movement. Changes in your pattern of bowel movements can be a sign of colon cancer. It can occur when a tumor blocks the bowel and prevents you from completely emptying your bowels. If you persistently have the sensation of incomplete evacuation after a bowel movement, discuss the problem with your doctor. 5. Narrow Stools 04:16 Thin, narrow stools are also a warning of possible colon cancer. A tumor present in the left side of the colon obstructs the passageway and often leads to narrow stools. Do not delay discussing any change in your stools with your doctor. Diverticulitis and anal cancer can also cause narrowing of the stools. Music: Royalty Free Music from Bensound

This is a video performed by Joseph S. Galati, Houston, Texas, on a young patient with chronic abdominal pain. After an evaluation with blood work and an ultrasound of the abdomen, an upper endoscopy was performed that revealed a large gastric ulcer in the antrum/pylorus of the stomach. Burlingame Dentist Burlingame Dentist Review Burlingame Dentist If you're looking for a new dentist I would recommend checking this place out. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, they have all new equipment. Use digital x-rays, and take digital photos inside your mouth to actually show you problem areas. A truly awesome tool in my opinion. Burlingame Dentist Review Burlingame Dentist Dental Hygiene & Prevention Resources 1. Daily Tips to Help You Keep Excellent Dental and Oral Care for Life Keeping your teeth and gums healthy is not just about brushing your teeth every day. Almost everything about your life can influence your dental health, from the way you cope with stress to the foods you might think are harmless. Read on to discover how you can avoid ten different habits that make a huge difference to your long-term dental health. 2. Flossing! We know, it's a chore and alot of times forgetful after brushing if rushing out the door or heading to bed. However, flossing can help you remove food particles and other detrimental substances that brushing regularly cannot. Flossing allows you to reach deep between your teeth where the toothbrush bristles cannot reach or even mouthwash cannot wash away. We recommend flossing at least once a day. 3. Avoid Tobacco This will be a big favor to your teeth. One, it will save you from oral cancer and periodontal complications. Two, it will save you from the countless ill effects caused by the agents used to mask the smell of tobacco. For example, if you smoke a cigarette, you may use candies, tea or coffee to mask the smoky breath and odor. This doubles the amount of damage caused. 4. Limit Sodas, Coffee and Alcohol Although these beverages contain a high level of phosphorous, which is a necessary mineral for a healthy mouth, too much phosphorous can deplete the body's level of calcium. This causes dental hygiene problems such as tooth decay and gum disease. Beverages containing additives such as corn syrup and food dye can make pearly white teeth appear dull and discolored. Therefore, it is best to choose beverages like milk, which helps strengthen teeth and build stronger enamel, giving you a healthy, beautiful smile and water which hydrates your body longer than sugary drinks. 5. Consume Calcium and other Vitamins that are good for the body You need plenty of calcium for your teeth. It is essential for the teeth as well as your bones. It is better to drink milk, fortified orange juice and to eat yogurt, broccoli, cheese, and other dairy products. You can also take a calcium supplement, taking different doses according to your age and necessity as per prescription. Calcium and Vitamin D are necessary for maintaining the health of gums and teeth. Vitamin B complex is also essential for the protection of gums and teeth from cracking and bleeding. Copper, zinc, iodine, iron and potassium are also required for maintaining healthy dental hygiene. Burlingame Dentist Review Burlingame Dentist 6. Visit Your Dentist You should visit your dentist at least twice a year to have a full hygiene treatment performed. Also at these appointments, a comprehensive exam is taken with x-rays to help detect and prevent future dental treatments from occurring. 7. Use Mouthwash along side brushing and flossing Mouthwash is not particularly necessary and not all mouthwashes are useful. Mouthwashes containing Listerine our chlorine dioxide are very helpful because they help to kill and maintain the bacteria in your mouth. It can help maintain good breath as well as help maintain strong teeth. Mouthwash cannot do all the work but if your are already brushing, flossing, visiting the dentist and eating well, mouthwash is the cherry on top that will make your dental health great. 8. Having a toothache or noticing other dental symptoms If you are having tooth and jaw pain make an appointment as soon as possible. Your dentist needs to diagnose the underlying cause and correct it before it turns into a greater problem. 9. Look at the Big Picture Everyone understands that you should take care of your teeth to avoid toothaches, maintain your looks and keep dental bills at bay. Many people, however, don't understand how crucial oral health is to our total health picture. Tooth problems can lead to diabetes, heart disease, systemic infections, an inability to eat or speak properly and other maladies -- some life-threat Burlingame Dentist Review Burlingame Park Dentist 10. Clean your tongue Clean the surface of your tongue daily. By using a professional tongue cleaner you remove countless bacteria that otherwise live, particularly on the rougher top surface of your tongue. These can contribute to bad breath (halitosis) and negatively affect your dental health.

5 Horrifying Creatures Found Living Inside a Human Body

02:47
Click Here To Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCH7IZhznY_65jJkiHPV48NA For an old Seoul lady, dinner in a local restaurant ended up rather unusually, to say the least – she was enjoying her squids when one of the animals, already fried, suddenly filled her mouth with its semen. The woman quickly spitted it out, but kept tasting a ‘foreign substance’ even after thorough rinsing. Finally, she went to the hospital where the doctors extracted 12 small white spindly creatures from her mouth. In 2010, a 59-year-old man from Szechuan came to the hospital with strong pain in the abdomen and anal bleeding. When the doctors made an X-ray expecting to see a tumor or other internal injuries, they found that there is an eel living in his guts. As it turned, this was the result of a friendly ‘joke’ – during one of the boozes, the man got drunk and fell asleep. His buddies decided to put an eel into his backway, ‘just for fun.’ The joke ended up lethally – in ten days, the man died. The life of 37-year-old Rosmary Alvarez was divided into ‘before’ and ‘after’ when tomography discovered dangerous tumors in her brain. The woman checked into a hospital with troubling symptoms – she suffered from numbness in hands, eyesight deterioration and had trouble swallowing food. In a hope to get better, Rosemary agreed to a risky surgery. When she woke up, the doctor said there were actually no tumors inside her head. Instead, the surgeon pulled out a huge tapeworm. Of course, the fact that Rosmary’s brain had fallen prey to a parasite is quite a bummer, but, truth be told, removing a worm is much easier than operating a tumor. 12-year-old Indian boy Anil Barela was playing by the river with friends, when suddenly he fell short of breath. The doctors found a foreign object in his lungs which turned out to be a 9-centimeter fish. Local kids often play games in which you need to swallow fish alive, but it seems Anil tried to inhale it. It’s hard to believe such a big animal could get inside his body by accident. Without any seeming reason, John Mathews’ eyesight suffered a drastic drop – all he could see with his left eye was two dark blurs. The man went to see his doctor hoping to get rid of these ‘visual effects.’ When the ophthalmologist explored John’s eye, he found a microscopic worm inside. Parasites like that usually get into human stomach and then start ‘travelling’ around the organism sometimes getting as far as our brain and even eyes. The doctors killed the worm with a laser and prescribed vision recovery exercises for Mathews. Unfortunately, part of the damage turned out to be irreversible. 10 Hottest Female MMA Fighters: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nk2p9oMyI0 10 Incredible Acts Of Heroism By Ordinary People: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZBQNt62400 10 Of The Most Dangerous Beaches In The World: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wx4hkuktvJI
