10 Early Warning Signs Your Estrogen Levels Are Too High & How To Fix It

04:56
Nothing helps the body work like it should than when its hormones are perfectly balanced. The key to making sure that women’s bodies are hormonally balanced is making sure that their estrogen levels are where they need to be. Estrogen also plays an important role regulating the menstrual cycle. Bloating and a decreased sex drive are just two indicators of estrogen dominance—what takes place when your estrogen level gets and stays too high. Recognizing the signs and symptoms of too much estrogen can help you know to make sure your hormones stay regulated. Weight loss, high blood pressure, diabetes, and pregnancy are some of culprits of estrogen dominance. Let’s take a closer look at these and more. Here are 10 signs that you have estrogen dominance: 1. Weight Gain Putting on more than a few extra pounds can be an indication of too much estrogen. It causes bloating and makes it even harder to lose the weight. If you want to lose weight and keep it off, your estrogen can’t suffer rapid changes. 2. Heavy Menstruation When your estrogen levels rise, it can have the unwanted side effect of giving you a heavier period than normal. So, if that happens, you might want to consider having your estrogen level checked. 3. Decreased Sex Drive When you just don’t want intimacy with your significant other, it could mean a significantly increased amount of estrogen. High amounts of estrogen point to a lowered sex drive; however, you don’t want your estrogen to fall too low. It can also affect your desire for sex. 4. Irregular Period As we’ve already seen, your hormones and your period are closely related. When your estrogen fluctuates more than it should, the time between your period becomes unpredictable also. 5. Swollen Breasts When your hormone levels change, your breasts can become overly sensitive. So, when your breasts get tender to the touch, it might mean that you’ve got too much estrogen. 6. Changes in Mood Estrogen can affect your mental health. Too much of the female hormone has been attributed to panic and anxiety attacks as well as depression. 7. Frequent Headaches Have you recently experienced migraine headaches? Have you begun to get headaches more than normal? These issues could be cause by estrogen dominance. 8. Hair Loss When your body produces too much estrogen, your hair begins to thin. As it thins, it begins to fall out. Balancing your estrogen levels can take care of this irritating problem. 9. Insomnia When you’re having trouble sleeping, the cause could be too much estrogen. Our bodies know when there are problems and often times has problems adjusting. Sleep loss can be a reflection of that. 10. Cold Extremities Estrogen levels can affect circulation too. If your hormone levels are abnormal it could be the reason you're having a hard time keeping your hands and feet warm. Balance Your Hormone Levels with These 5 Foods 1. Rosemary Rosemary doesn’t just add flavor to your favorite recipes. It can also improve memory function, boost your metabolism, and contribute to a properly functioning thyroid. Best of all, rosemary is one of the foods responsible for producing estrogen. 2. Cruciferous Vegetables I3C, or indole-3-carbinol as this nutrient is properly known, is found in cruciferous vegetables like spinach, bok choy, kale, Brussels sprouts, and broccoli. These all have the important job of ridding the body of excess estrogen because the I3C converts into a substance that helps the liver flush the body when it has too much estrogen. 3. Flaxseed Another food that assists in getting rid of excess estrogen is flaxseed. The lignans and phytoestrogens present in these tiny seeds help regulate estrogen in the body by controlling how much of the hormone is able to bind to estrogen receptors. 4. Isoflavones Found in several herbs such as Trifolium pratense, Puerari montana, and Pueraria lobata, isoflavones have antioxidant properties that boost low estrogen levels. These herbs can be found in certain teas and are a great way to balance estrogen levels. 5. Activated Folic Acid You often hear about the importance of folic acid in women’s health. That’s because it’s present in the same leafy green vegetables that are high in I3C. It’s able to change estrogen into a form that actually lowers the risk of some forms of cancer. Causes of High Testosterone in Women + Treatment Options

26:24
This video walks you through the 6 most common causes of high testosterone in women plus how to lower your testosterone levels. High testosterone is incredibly common among women and can lead to symptoms such as coarse hair growth on the upper lip, male patterned balding or hair loss, weight gain and changes in mood. The issue with high testosterone is that most providers try to cover up the symptoms with the use of birth control pills or other medications, but these routes never treat the route cause of the issue. By far the most common cause of high testosterone in women is insulin resistance, which causes both weight gain and alterations in androgens such as testosterone and DHEA. Other important causes of high testosterone include high DHEA levels, adrenal related issues, leptin resistance, weight gain and a lack of exercise. Other hormone imbalances such as estrogen dominance or low progesterone can also precipitate high testosterone in women. Learn more about how to test for high testosterone and what to do about it in this video. 9 Hormonal Imbalance Signs Everyone Should Know

07:41
Here are the 9 most common symptoms of hormonal imbalance that can negatively affect you. If you suspect that you have any of these symptoms, talk to your doctor immediately! The rhythm of life, with all its stresses and environmental problems, doesn’t let you fully take care of your physical health. Despite this fact, your body and the way you look may be sending you signals about major health concerns that need to be dealt with. We all want to look our best but this doesn’t necessarily have to involve overpriced salon services, cosmetics or exercise. Your own hormones can “speak” for themselves. The development of the human body greatly depends on the function of hormones. These tiny signaling molecules are responsible for our mood, emotions, behavior and even our looks. TIMESTAMPS Acne 1:07 Excess weight 1:47 Fatigue 2:32 Sweating 3:16 Dark circles under the eyes 3:53 Depression 4:39 Breast changes 5:24 Hair loss 5:59 Unwanted hair 6:37 SUMMARY - Outbreaks of acne can be the result of improper skin care, an unbalanced diet, or your menstrual cycle. However, if acne has become a consistent foe, it’s probably a symptom of a hormonal disorder. - Many people struggle with their weight their whole lives, resisting food cravings and doing exercise; others are thin without any particular effort. Hormone-related problems are most likely to be the culprit of this injustice. - Always feeling tired despite no changes in your habits or environment is a much more serious problem known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which can be a result of hormones that are off balance. - If you have fluctuations in your body temperature, the issue could be both neurological and hormonal. Again, contact a health professional if you feel like you’re experiencing these symptoms. - Chronic insomnia may be the result of testosterone insufficiency in men and progesterone insufficiency in women. The good news is that sleep deficiency due to hormonal imbalance can be cured! - Depression can be another symptom of fluctuating hormone levels. Anxiety and depression can occur just before a woman’s menstrual cycle, during pregnancy, and during menopause. If you’re having more frequent panic attacks and anxiety, talk to an endocrinologist. - Low levels of estrogen can make breast tissue less dense whereas excessively high levels of this hormone can cause lumps or cysts. If you notice any changes in your breasts or you feel any lumps in your breast tissue, consult a doctor immediately. - Excessive hair loss is one of the most common symptoms of hormonal imbalance. Take control of your eyesight and headaches. Worsening vision and frequent headaches may signalize instability in the pituitary gland, the hormone epicenter. Don’t just give up and blame it on stress and hard work. Get yourself checked out! Taking care of your health should be top priority. Know your body and listen to the signals it’s sending to you so that you can be in tip-top shape. Don't Eat These: 5 High Estrogen Foods To Avoid

05:24
Everyone, men and women alike need to pay attention to the amount of excess estrogens that may be in the foods you eat. You want to keep your estrogen load low so as not to cause hormonal imbalance. Estrogen can also cause thyroid issues in men and women as well as reproductive issues. The first step to lowering your estrogen naturally is to pay attention to foods containing estrogen in excess. Estrogen rich foods: 1. Factory farmed meat: meats these days are treated with estrogens to get the meat to swell, and to keep dairy cows lactating constantly. The estrogen will typically pass through to the consumer via the fat in the meat or dairy. 2. Flax seeds and estrogenic lignans: lignans are found to be so estrogenic that researchers use them specifically as among the foods to LOWER testosterone levels in subjects. 3. Soy: soy has been touted as a health food, and is now in most packaged foods so it's quite surprising that it's one of the estrogen foods to avoid. It contains compounds known as isoflavones 4. Beans: researchers found beans to be estrogenic and goitrogenic . Legumes like chickpeas (garbanzo beans) red beans, black-eyed peas, green peas and split peas are also estrogenic and black beans pack 5,330 micrograms of estrogen per 100 grams. Hummus (from chickpeas) has 993 micrograms of estrogen per 100 grams. 5. Factory dairy Follow Me On Social Media: Website: https://truthnutra.com/yt Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/truthnutra/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/truthnutra/ Personal Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_christopherwalker/ Truth Nutra Products: Shop For Supplements - https://truthnutra.com/supplements Shop For Books - https://truthnutra.com/books Shop For Apparel - https://truthnutra.com/apparel Use code "YOUTUBE" For 10% Off! Estrogen vs Progesterone Hormonal Dominance: Control Low Hormones Symptoms

04:05
http://getleantoday.com - Dr. Raj Banerjee shares the key differences between estrogen and progesterone. Steroids are a group of hormones that regulate body functions – and they are all derived from cholesterol. Or fat. That’s right, fat. Estrogen, which is usually the focus of HRT, is actually a generic term for three different forms of hormone called Estriol, Estrodiol and Estrone - Estrodiol being the most potent. Estrogen is called the female sex hormone because it regulates the menstrual cycle and causes thing to grow during puberty – Dr Raj likes estrogen because it creates curves and it also stimulates cell growth in preparation for pregnancy. Estrogen is a growth hormone. It has received a lot of bad press because people have been taking too much estrogen in the form of synthetic hormone for a long period of time. And any hormone you take in excess is going to cause problems. And a growth hormone like estrogen if you take too much of it. You are going to get excessive cell growth which is another term for what we call cancer. So its understandable, estrogen is not good or bad, but if you take too much estrogen its going to cause problems. Progesterone is the pro gestational hormone. It’s the hormone that keeps the uterine lining intact if you get pregnant. And its depleted when you are under stress. So the typical reaction is high stress, high cortisol levels when you are under stress and the depletion of the progesterone. Its pretty amazing what progestronine helps with. It helps protect from many of the negative effects of extra estrogen. It helps women sleep. It gives them better sex drive, better energy levels, makes your skin look better. It’s a wonderful hormone. If we compare them side-by-side, you’ll see that they counterbalance each other in many ways. There’s an ideal ratio between these two hormones. Estrogen given in too large of a dose can cause depression, headaches, it increases the risk of blood clotting and stroke. It causes the loss of many nutrients such as zink and copper. It interferes with oxygen levels. Again that in a person that is getting excessive estrogen which has basically been the history of menopausal treatment. Dr Raj wants to leave you with an important point to free yourself from chronic fatigue and pain and depression and overweight. Ovarian hormones do not spontaneously malfunction by themselves. The female hormones do not all of a sudden malfunction by themselves. They are responding to stress as a stress hormone called cortisol. Every molecule of cortisol that you produce comes from progesterone. When you are under stress guess what happens? Your cortisol goes up and your progesterone drops. Dr Raj wants to test your cortisol and fix it. And he wants to test your female hormone and fix your whole hormonal system at the same time and make all your symptoms go away. That will help eliminate depression and fatigue. Night sweats, hot flashes, mood swings etc. and it will improve your metabolism so you will able to start losing weight. Herbal Detox Cleanse : Do this to Detox Estrogen Naturally - VitaLife Show Episode 237

Do This to Detox Estrogen Naturally - VitaLife Show Episode 237 https://youtu.be/pYSRAkDvZJ4 Learn how to detox estrogen from your body with Dr. Janine Bowring, ND and VitaTree. Both men and women can have too much estrogen in their bodies, and excess estrogen can cause weight gain, and in all the wrong places. In men, too much bad estrogen can cause breast growth, and abdominal obesity. In women, abdominal fat is also common when there is too much estrogen. Exposure to estrogens can be from plastics, too much soy containing foods, and conventional dairy and meat products contain hormones which can raise your estrogen levels. Sugar can also raise your insulin levels which affects your sex hormone binding globulin or SHBG and increases estrogen levels. The foods to eat to improve your estrogen levels are called indole 3 carbinols, or I3C's. The best choices are broccoli, kale, cabbage, brussel sprouts, and cauliflower. These help to detox out that extra estrogen and many are found in the VitaVeggies formula. If you are not eating these raw veggies daily or juicing them, the VitaVeggies is a great way to take them daily. For the men, having too much estrogen can affect your bodybuilding efforts and minimize your gains you are trying to achieve in the gym. Detoxification is important and milk thistle helps to remove toxins from the liver and helps the liver to conjugate the estrogen. Probiotics also help to remove excess estrogen. Low Estrogen Symptoms Checklist + Treatment Guide

29:20
This video will teach you everything you need to know about low estrogen (for both young and older women). Estrogen is a critical sex hormone found in both men and women. When we talk about estrogen we are almost always referring to estradiol (the most powerful estrogen). This hormone helps regulate important functions in the body such as your weight, how much fat you store (and where), heart disease, bone density, mood and so on. Low levels of estrogen can cause serious and significant symptoms which need to be identified and treated as soon as possible. Testing for low estrogen is easy (compared to high estrogen) and should always be accompanied by progesterone and sex hormone binding globulin. This video also discusses the causes and treatments of low estrogen! Hey guys! I'm Dr. Westin Childs and I focus on thyroid health, hormone balance, and weight loss. I write about thyroid disorders, weight loss, insulin resistance, estrogen/progesterone balance on my blog. 5 Hidden Reasons For Hair Loss Most Women Don’t Know About

02:53
5 Hidden Reasons For Hair Loss Most Women Don’t Know About Unwanted hair loss can be extremely frustrating, upsetting and even embarrassing. Please subscribe and watch this video until the end to know the complete information. Hair loss in women is often associated with a change in hormones. There are several hidden causes of hair loss in women that are often overlooked. Here are five hidden reasons for hair loss most women don’t know: 1. Female Pattern Hair Loss. One of the most common reasons that women suffer from hair loss is due to female pattern hair loss. About one-third of all women are genetically exposed to it. It can happen anywhere from puberty to menopause, beginning with the gradual thinning of the hair. Female pattern hair loss is caused by a hormone known as dihydrotestosterone. An excess of the hormone, which is found in both men and women, can lead to hair loss. 2. An Autoimmune Condition. An autoimmune condition known as alopecia areata can cause hair loss. In people who suffer from the condition, the body’s immune cells are prone to attacking one another. The condition causes patches of hair loss when the immune system attacks the hair follicles. 3. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is associated with a wide range of problems when it comes to women’s health, including hair loss. This is a condition that causes an imbalance in female hormones. The ovaries overproduce testosterone, which can cause women to grow excess body hair or lose hair. 4. Medication. Hair loss can be a side effect of many different medications, including antidepressants, beta-blockers and anti-inflammatory drugs. Changing medication can help stop or reverse hair loss in many situations. 5. Pregnancy. Hormones change tremendously during pregnancy. Women may experience hair loss during any stage of pregnancy. For many women, hair loss occurs soon after the baby is born, due to more hormonal changes in the body. Let me tell you about the natural remedies for hair loss. Hair thinning often occurs when your hormones are off balance. Adding some hormone-balancing foods to your daily diet can help keep your hormones levels on the right track. Try avocados, nuts, pomegranates, organic apples and chia seeds. use essential oils. Studies have shown that rosemary oil can work as a topical hair loss treatment. It has the ability to increase cellular metabolism to stimulate hair growth. You can try mixing peppermint oil and sage oil to reduce hair thinning. you can also use coconut oil and olive oil to reduce hair thinning. Thank you for watching. please like, comment, subscribe and share with your friends and family.

Overtraining: The Effect on Hormones & Testosterone- Thomas DeLauer

Click Here to Subscribe: http://Bit/ly/ThomasVId Website: http://ThomasDeLauer.com Get the Clothes I Wear at 25% Off - Use Code: TDSUMMER25 at http://www.Hylete.com Overtraining: The Effect on Hormones & Testosterone- Thomas DeLauer… When we work out, we're causing stress in our bodies. That's a given, everyone has said that. But what we want to understand is how this stress can lead to overtraining, and how this overtraining can lead to diminished hormone function, and we know how important hormones are. Things like testosterone obviously play a critical factor in how much body fat we accumulate, how much body fat we burn, and overall how much muscle we build. So now there are some direct links with overtraining and testosterone decline. So let's dive into the science and let's understand if you're truly overtraining. Alright, so first off we have to understand what the symptoms of overtraining are, and the problem is they're a little bit vague because they hit everyone a little bit different. But in general, we're talking serious, serious fatigue. Then we're also talking sleeplessness. When you're overtraining you are in a situation where your catecholamines like your adrenaline, your other fight or flight hormones are skyrocketing, meaning you don't sleep very well. But you're also going to find yourself in a situation where you're getting sick a lot. You're not able to recover. And also when you don't recover, you have declines in performance. So if you're feeling like you're at a plateau, there's a very good chance you're overtraining. Well, let me rephrase that. No matter who you are, there's a good chance you're overtraining, 'cause it doesn't take much. But the big factor here is testosterone. What kind of effect does truly overtraining and does stress have on testosterone production? And not only men, but women too. Of course, it's going to have a bigger impact on men because we're driven a little bit more by testosterone, but it still applies to both genders. Now when we look at the science, it's easy to think that it could be the cytokine hypothesis. Now the cytokine hypothesis shows that whenever you train harder, whenever you work out, or whenever you work out for a long period of time without adequate rest or recovery, you end up in a situation where you have vast amounts of interleukins that injure the body, or they're produced. So we're talking interleukin one, interleukin three, five, six, 10, 15. These interleukins trigger specific inflammatory responses within the body. We have to remember, with training we want inflammation. Inflammation is what heals us and recovers us. But if it happens too much, it takes energy away from the rest of the body. 7 Thyroid Symptoms In Women You Must Take Seriously

04:37
Let’s take a look at some of the early thyroid symptoms in women. The early thyroid symptoms in women can be treated provided you raise the alarm at the right time. Observe your body more closely, it only helps in the long run. Thyroid is today a common disease in women that is usually a result of a malfunction of the thyroid gland. This thyroid gland located under the Adam’s Apple in the front of the neck is an important organ in maintaining the metabolism of the body. Sometimes this gland either over or under functions. Either condition is harmful for the overall functioning of the heart and other organs of the body. So listen to your body, and watch out for these early thyroid symptoms in women. Hyperthyroid: Over functioning of the thyroid gland produces too much thyroid hormone and this anomaly is called hyperthyroid. This condition puts the major internal functions of the body into an overdrive, and leads to many a symptom such as high stress, diarrhoea, acute ache in the abdomen among others. If left untreated, hyperthyroid can lead to a fatal stroke or cardiac arrest. Hypothyroid: This is the diametric opposite of hyperthyroid where the thyroid gland produces too little thyroid hormone. This leads to the extreme slow functioning of all the major organs of the body. Depression, weight gain are but some of the fall-outs of hypothyroid. A patient not taking medication for this condition can end up in a coma.

When a patient lays on the table on their stomach, their sacrum should be in the middle and their glutes should rise like two mounds. The glutes of elderly people do not rise, and Dr. Moore was seeing this in many of her younger patients. Dr. Moore’s own lower back pain became lessened with glute work. She started with glute bridges and body weight squats. She tells everyone to hire a good trainer. 10:31 Hormones and Weights: A study of men with a body weight squat with a free weight barbell, compared to a leg press machine showed that over the release of testosterone and human growth hormone was more than 80% higher with the barbell. You can tweak your hormones by how you exercise. The compound movements, like the full squat puts a neural load on the whole system. 12:39 The Mindset of Weight Training: Cardio makes you better at cardio and you only receive the benefits while you are doing it. When you lift weights, you get after burn. 14:25 Hormones and Cardio: Dr. Moore sees gnarly changes in labs with runners. They tend to burn out their adrenals and then the rest of their hormones. She sees a number of runners and cyclists with diabetes. It comes down to skinny fat. You look thin, but metabolically you show up as pre-diabetic skinny fat. Being a thin diabetic is more dangerous than being a heavy diabetic. About 20% of our population is normal weight and metabolically obese. A study showed that type 2 diabetes starts with insulin resistant skeletal muscle in the leg tissue. Eighty percent of insulin latches to muscle tissue. The fastest way to get out of insulin resistance is to build muscle. The first thing your body does with the buildup of muscle is burn up the fat in your liver. 17:17 More Benefits of Strength Training: Dr. Moore began to see her thyroid antibody levels go down. Her testosterone and estrogen levels come up. Her blood sugar regulated better. It takes about 90 days of strength training for metabolic changes on labs and weight redistribution to come about. If we improve our diets at the same time, it happens more quickly. 19:01 Cardio vs Strength Training: Studies have shown that you need to do chronic cardio for 50 minutes a day 7 days a week and you may see 2 to 3 pounds of weight loss a month. Even that benefit drops off after a short time as your body adjusts to the exertion. Weight training is superior for reducing the prevalence of heart disease and diabetes. 21:41 Protecting Our Energy: We need to guard our energy, our thyroid, our adrenals and our hormones. Every food we eat and activity we do should be in support of these. Across the board, giving ourselves micro doses of the hormetic effect makes us stronger and harder to kill. 25:04 Abs vs Glutes: Dr. Moore asked her male friends which they preferred on a woman and they didn’t care about a 6 pack and a flat rear end. She sees many of her female patients who achieve the 6 pack abs, end up with trashed their hormones. Our abs are where we keep our estrogen. Her patients who have had a tummy tuck come in a few months later with trashed hormones. Our fat is an endocrine organ. 26:29 Your Glutes: Your spine comes down into your sacrum. If you focus on your gluteal strength, much of your body is worked in the process. You get the most benefit from posterior chain exercises, compound body movements, like deadlifts and squats. 29:15 Having a Little Fat is Protective: Dr. Moore experienced and often sees when people become very lean, their hormones tank. We feel better emotionally when we have a healthy bulk from lifting weights. 32:15 Fat is Burned in Mitochondria in Skeletal Muscles: The more muscle you have, the more fat you burn.

Estrogen Is Killing Men: How To Lower Estrogen Naturally

06:05
Estrogen is killing men. In the next 60 seconds I'm going to show how the sneaky hormone estrogen is killing your manhood, and what you can do to stop it. Read more about how to lower estrogen naturally here - https://www.truthnutra.com/pages/testro-x-benefits So first off, let's take a look at… What is estrogen? Estrogen is the primary female hormone that is stimulated by the brain into production that influences your reproductive system. While most people associate estrogen with women, the truth of the matter is, men produce it too. Balanced levels of estrogen are necessary in men, however due to certain modern circumstances, our entire population of men has seen a massive rise in male estrogen levels over the past 50 years, leading to all sorts of dangerous health issues, including disease. Now, what is estrogen dominance? Estrogen dominance is characterized by the androgen to estrogen ratio in men. When the body has a proper androgen to estrogen ratio (meaning there are higher amounts of androgens produced relative to estrogen), it uses that estrogen produced for a couple key things and effectively removes it from the bloodstream, or methylates it, keeping the balance and keeping men healthy and disease free. A healthy body has a high androgen to estrogen ratio, which means it needs to make less estrogen to stay healthy. Better yet, having a higher androgen to estrogen ratio allows the male body to function properly for more energy, building muscle, and will also help the body store less fat. What's even better, is that a better androgen to estrogen ratio is going to lead to higher T levels in men. Now what are some signs that a person might have estrogen dominance? Or have been exposed to too much estrogen? And how to reduce estrogen levels in men? High estrogen levels can cause weight gain, higher estrogen levels can cause aging, higher estrogen levels can cause reduced T, higher estrogen levels increases cravings for junk foods, and also leads to slow metabolism issues and poor thyroid function. Are You Overtraining? | The Effects of Overtraining on Hormones- Thomas DeLauer

Are You Overtraining? | The Effects of Overtraining on Hormones- Thomas DeLauer: Balancing Workouts, Diet, Career, and Family is all a balancing act, and that's why I specialize in it at http://www.thomasdelauer.com So you found the inner fire inside of yourself and it is go time - time to eat healthy and workout hard! But you have heard that it is good to start slowly and work your way up. It may surprise you that this is not only for the purpose of not injuring your body. Working out is one of the quickest ways to affect your hormone production. Working out is a stress on your body. When you have healthy amounts of stress your body has time to heal and recover, leaving it stronger than it was before. When you do not give yourself that time to recover from stress, this can lead to a whole bunch of issues. We all know that too much stress is a bad thing; chronic stress has been linked to headaches, overeating and obesity, restlessness, illness, and digestive problems. Our body’s stress response is similar when we exercise as when we experience a life stress, such as traffic or losing a job. Signals are sent that queue the release of stress hormones, such as cortisol and adrenaline, into our blood from our adrenal glands. Elevated cortisol levels can signal that your body is undergoing chronic stress, which could be caused by life situations or by over exertion during workouts. One study from the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research found that cortisol levels in saliva were higher for those who underwent long duration, high intensity exercise (over 59 minutes of high intensity cardio.) Studies have also found that a similar increase in cortisol is experienced during heavy weight training workouts. Another study looked at cortisol levels in those performing the same workout under two conditions: no additional emotional stress and additional emotional stress. Those that were exposed to emotional stress at the same time as working out had higher cortisol levels. This signifies the importance of both our wellbeing and our workout load on our hormone levels. Alright, so we see that high intensity exercise can lead to raised cortisol levels. How does this impact us? Overtraining Syndrome: If you work out too hard and do not allow adequate recovery time, you may suffer from OTS. Symptoms include: -Problems sleeping -Disrupted mood and behavior -Fatigue -Hindered athletic performance -Sexual dysfunction - reduced sexual desire, even infertility -Bone loss -Weakened immune system -Difficulty losing weight -Amenorrhea (absence of menstrual bleeding) -Physical injuries What causes these symptoms? One of the large factors is an imbalance in your hormones. Hormones: Chronically high cortisol levels can lead to your body being in a catabolic state, where your body is not breaking down fat but rather muscle for fuel. It can also lead to a weakened immune system. If you have one hormone that is out of whack, it is likely to impact your other hormones. Chronically elevated cortisol levels lead to a decrease in the level of testosterone, estrogen and progesterone. These are the sex hormones, and are very important to our daily wellbeing. These changes reflect a change in the balance of catabolic hormones and anabolic hormones. This danger is particularly of concern for women. When your sex hormones are imbalanced you can experience amenorrhea, when your body enters a state where it no longer is able to menstruate. Eventually the adrenal glands go into a state of exhaustion, known as adrenal fatigue, where hormone production overall is slowed. In this state your body is not as capable of dealing with stress. At this state even your cortisol levels are low, leading to many of the down feelings associated. Tips: If you think you may be experiencing OTS, it may be time to take a step back and do what is best for your body. Give yourself time to recover. If you are experiencing high stress at home or work, do a more relaxing exercise, such as yoga. This can help to reduce your cortisol rather than raise it, which will happen if you run hard for a long time or lift heavy weights. References: 1. Estrogen: How to Balance Hormones with Proper Food & Vitamins- Thomas DeLauer

08:14
Estrogen: How to Balance Hormones with Proper Food & Vitamins- Thomas DeLauer How do we balance estrogen and testosterone in our bodies and how do we know which estrogens are good or bad? You can check out more at http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com Estrogens are a group of hormones present in both women and men. Functions include: Puberty changes in women Fertility Plays a role in controlling cholesterol levels Helps bone health Affects the brain, including mood Also affects the heart, skin and other body tissues Affects heart and blood vessels In males, the maturation of sperm and labido maintenance Estrogen is produced by the ovaries, fat tissue, testis and adrenal glands. There are three kinds of estrogen: Estradiol - the primary kind of estrogen found in women during their fertile years Primarily produced in the ovaries, but also the placenta and adrenal glands Excess estradiol is implicated in many diseases, such as cancers and fibroids Found in both women and men Estriol - the estrogen associated with pregnancy A waste product of estrogen metabolism Estrone - the estrogen produced postmenopause Produced in tissues throughout the body, mainly fat and muscle tissues Known as the weakest form of estrogen Found in both women and men Estrogen levels change: Throughout the month when fertile, with peak estrogen in the middle of a woman’s menstrual cycle, signalling ovulation, and the lowest levels while bleeding. Estrogen levels drop after menopause. Problems can arise when your body produces too much or too little estrogen Too little - symptoms: Women Irregular periods Mood swings Loss of sexual desire Trouble sleeping Hot flashes Headaches Men Excess adipose tissue around the midsection Low sexual desire Too little causes: Anorexia Extreme exercise Medications Hypogonadism Post-childbirth Too much - symptoms: Women Irregular periods Weight gain Fatigue Low sex drive Depression and anxiety More intense premenstrual pain Cysts Men Erectile dysfunction Female characteristics, such as breasts Prostate enlargement and cancer Low sex drive Depression Fatigue Weight gain Too much causes: Obesity Puberty Diabetes Pregnancy High blood pressure Ovarian or adrenal gland tumors Medications When estrogen is broken down through aerobic metabolism, it can be broken into “good” or “bad” estrogen metabolites. The good metabolites, 2-hydroxyestrone (2-OHE), are estrogen antagonists. They have high antioxidant activity, providing protection for the heart and brain. The bad metabolites, 16-hydroxyestrone (16-OHE), are estrogen agonists. They have been implicated in causing cancer and weight gain. Therapies that increase the 2-OHE:16-OHE ratio are thought to decrease the risk for a number of estrogen-responsive cancers. Natural compounds found in food have been founds to be antiestrogenic and thus are being further explored to discover how to capture these benefits for possible cancer prevention and treatment. DIM (Diindolylmethane) DIM is a stable compound derived from the plant indole I3C (indole-3-carbinol) found in cruciferous vegetables. Dietary indoles found in cruciferous veggies such as broccoli and cabbage, have been found to exhibit chemoprotective and chemotherapeutic properties against many cancers. Its benefit has to do with hormone balancing. I3C has been found to decrease estrogen signaling and alter estrogen metabolism, leading to a reduced production of “bad” estrogen metabolites. DIM consumption has been linked to an increase in the production of the “good” estrogen metabolites and thus a resulting decrease in the production of the “bad” estrogen metabolites. -Increases the 2-OHE:16-OHE ratio One study on women with thyroid proliferative disease (TPD) found that supplemental DIM enhanced estrogen metabolism in such a way as to act as a dietary antiestrogenic supplement and in this way may decrease the likelihood of women to develop TPD. DIM has other hormone balancing properties and can contribute to more balanced hormones. -This more beneficial hormone balance can lead to a healthier metabolism The hormonal balance influence of DIM also positively impacts testosterone. For men, this estrogen metabolism has the added benefit of freeing up testosterone in the body. Free testosterone is important for mood, energy and labido. References: 1. I am sure most of my female readers can agree that even a minor change in hormones (such as the one they experience while going through their cycle) can affect everything from mood, to cravings, to impurities. If you find that uncomfortable, then imagine some of the side effects of a constant hormone imbalance (acne, Hashimoto’s fibroids in the breasts, cancer, and signs of menopause). The most incredible thing is that many women (up to 70-80%) are walking around with too much estrogen. And they don’t even know it. Luckily, most hormone imbalances can be balanced simply by changing the diet. This week, I am talking to Magdalena Wszelaki, who is an expert on hormone imbalances. She has just published her new book, ”Cooking For Hormone Balance”. An amazing book that reveals the effect of hormone imbalance on your health, and 125 amazing recipes that will teach you how to balance hormones with foods. One of the worst enemies for men is high levels of estrogen. Period. In this video I’m going to give you my three foods to avoid at all costs if you’re trying to have the energy to stay focused in the office, and in the gym. And at the end, I’m going to give you a food that you can eat to help GET RID of the extra estrogen When we have high levels of estrogen, it generally means that we have lower levels of testosterone and higher levels of what is called aromatase activity. This aromatase activity is the enzymatic conversion of androsterone and testosterone into estradiol, more commonly known as E2 or estrogen. For what it is worth, high levels of estrogen cause excess belly fat, increased levels of the stress hormone cortisol, and also fatigue and a serious lack of drive and motivation. 1) The first food, is simply put, refined sugar and excess carbohydrates. The simplest way to put it is that when you eat carbohydrates and spike your insulin, you lower an important hormone called Sex hormone binding globulin, this hormone is responsible for binding testosterone and estrogen and when the hormone is too low, it leaves you with too much estrogen floating around in the bloodstream, leading to the myriad of effects. Replace the carbs with healthy fats to stimulate testosterone production rather than killing it off. Fat = Conversion to testosterone, sugar = no binding and more estrogen! 2) The next food to avoid is non-organic dairy products. Now, I am not one that is against dairy; I think that it has it’s place in moderation, but for the person that is trying to be as productive as possible, consuming too much dairy is flat out going to slow you down. But conventional milks and other dairy products have so much in the way of medications it wreaks havoc on the system. Research Bomb – In a study from the Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Medicine and Engineering in Japan it was found that conventional milk contains large amounts of estrogen and progesterone and is shown to suppress gonadotropin, which suppresses testosterone. The solution is to opt for Organic Milk or even goat’s milk when given the opportunity. 3) The last food to avoid is one you’ve probably heard talks about… and that is SOY. Soy contains something called xenoestrogens. Xenoestrogens mimic estrogen in the body, but aren’t real estrogen. This throws off your body and causes you to sometimes produce even more. This happens because we are not consuming true soy. So much of the soy that we eat is genetically modified that it doesn’t have the natural benefits of some of the other potentially healthy soy out there. I work with a lot of clients that are vegetarians and they need a solution for a vegetarian protein powder, in this case I recommend pea protein. 4) Now lastly, as promised I want to give you a way that you can reduce estrogen in your body and help your body get rid of it easier… Cruciferous veggies – things like broccoli and cauliflower… Why? Because they have a component called indole-3-carbinole that is being shown time and time again to reduce levels of estrogen in the body, but they also have levels of sulfur in them which detoxify the body quite well too. So not only do you reduce serum levels of estrogen within the body, but you also help the body eliminate them easier. Since estrogen levels are actually highest at night and lower during the day, it’s most important to eat your big bowl of broccoli before bed. As always, nourish your brain, your body, and your business and I’ll see you in the next video! Del Fabbro E, Garcia JM, Dev R, Hui D, Williams J, Engineer D, Palmer JL, Schover L, Bruera E. Do Progesterone Creams Balance Female Hormone Imbalance?

Alternative medical approaches uses plant based or phyto-hormones to balance out the system. And the science behind this all revolves around salivary tests. We can measure your hormone levels by looking at the saliva. The saliva is what is called a ‘dialisade’ of the blood. Meaning that certain molecules diffuse equally between the saliva and the blood and fortunately progesterone and estrogen are in that category. The ideal ratio of progesterone to estrogen is about a 22:1. Most women are way out of balance, having low progesterone. Many women are self-prescribing and taking progesterone in the form of creams. After reviewing thousands of lab tests I can tell you this strategy frequently backfires, in some women progesterone levels from the creams can build up so high that the progesterone starts to convert into estrogen and creates the very problem the woman was trying to avoid. So you can induce an estrogen-related problem, and potentially estrogen-related cancers, by taking too much progesterone. The most difficult patients I have ever worked with are women who have been on progesterone cream for too long. It’s even harder to manage than women who are on excessive estrogen. Another treatment I’ve seen in the alternative medical community to treat menopause is the use of soy products. Soy has natural phytoestrogens in it that can help but if you’re intolerant or allergic to soy then it will cause digestive or bloating symptoms that will outweigh the benefits. Progesterone can be a good treatment providing it is combined with sufficient testing, with adequate follow-up. Instead of relying on remedies that seem to alleviate symptoms not curing the underlying issues. Dr Raj wants you to know ovarian hormones and female hormones do not spontaneously malfunction by themselves. They are responding to stress as a stress hormone called cortisol. Every molecule of cortisol that you produce comes from progesterone. When you under stress guess what happens? Your cortisol goes up and your progesterone drops. Dr Raj can test your cortisol and fix it. He can test your female hormones and fix your whole hormonal system at the same time and eliminate all your symptoms. This will help eliminate depression and fatigue, night sweats, hot flashes, mood swings and it will improve your metabolism so you will able to start losing weight effectively. 5 Scientific Ways To Decrease Estrogen Levels

07:02
Here I explain 5 Ways You Can Decrease Estrogen Levels. For many men, simply working out anabolically and consuming lots of protein doesn’t result in high testosterone levels. This often can be attributed to high levels of estrogen in the body. Estrogen, the name for a group of female sex hormones, actively blocks testosterone production and distribution in the male body. Getting high testosterone levels is almost impossible without regularly trying to decrease estrogen levels as well. In this day and age, estrogenic compounds can be found everywhere, from diet to external body care products. Avoiding all exposure to estrogen is neither possible nor practical. However, it is important to at least attempt to shy away from estrogen-heavy products, as they can actively fight against your gains. Over-exposure of estrogen has adverse effects for women as well. Too much estrogen can be carcinogenic and lead to breast cancer. If women shouldn’t risk it, men definitely should stay away. While all human beings (that’s right—even manly men) have certain small levels of estrogen in their bodies, it’s very common to find men with estrogen levels far above what they should ideally be. It's important to decrease Estrogen levels in men since it blocks testosterone function by competing for the androgen receptors in the endocrine system. Therefore, the only way to avoid completely demolishing testosterone function in the male body is to decrease estrogen levels and make sure testosterone levels are high. Unfortunately, the male endocrine system is also susceptible to an enzyme known as aromatase, which facilitates the conversion of testosterone to estrogen. This means when attempting to lower estrogen levels, one should also lower aromatase levels as well. Let’s find out how to do this. To read more about how to decrease estrogen check out the full article here - https://www.anabolicmen.com/lower-estrogen-levels/ Also if you're interested, download the exclusive 30 man foods grocery list here to know what the top 30 foods are to boost your testosterone naturally: truthnutra.com/foods Follow Me On Social Media: Website: https://truthnutra.com/yt Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/truthnutra/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/truthnutra/ Personal Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_christopherwalker/ Truth Nutra Products: Shop For Supplements - https://truthnutra.com/supplements Shop For Books - https://truthnutra.com/books Shop For Apparel - https://truthnutra.com/apparel Use code "YOUTUBE" For 10% Off! What Hormones Actually Make You Gain Weight

09:38
Why you don't manage to lose weight. In addition to a sedentary lifestyle and an unhealthy diet, hormones can play a role in weight gain. If you’ve been on one of the popular protein diets (meaning you eat only meat and have forgotten what carbs look like!) for over a month but your weight hasn’t changed, estrogen is probably to blame. To balance an excess of estrogen in your body, it’s recommended that you minimize your consumption of products rich in protein. If you want to find out which hormones might be an obstacle on your journey to the body of your dreams, watch our new video! And remember that all of the advice should be considered supplementary. If you think you have any hormonal problems, consult your doctor. Only a professional can give you the right diagnosis. TIMESTAMPS: An overbalance of estrogen 1:03 A deficit of serotonin 2:03 An excess of ghrelin 2:49 An excess of neuropeptide Y 4:04 An excess of prolactin 4:57 A deficit of glucagon 5:44 A deficit of adrenaline 6:28 An excess of testosterone 7:24 A deficit of adiponectin 7:58 #hormoneimbalance #hormones #hormonalstatus Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - High levels of estrogen make you gain weight despite the food you eat. This extra weight is mainly stored on your hips. In addition, your menstrual cycle becomes irregular, and you might have headaches or become overly emotional. - A serious lack of serotonin almost always manifests itself in depression and a bad mood. Moreover, people with a deficiency of serotonin often change their eating habits. - Ghrelin is a hormone that determines if you’re hungry or not, and it’s very stubborn! Even after a year on a low-calorie diet, your level of ghrelin could still be high (your body will try to store fat tissue just in case). - If the concentration of neuropeptide Y in your blood is high, you’ll end up with a ravenous appetite. This hormone can lead not only to simple weight gain but to clinical obesity. - A high level of prolactin leads to rapid weight gain. Women might notice that downy hair appears all over their body, a small mustache starts to grow, or their menstrual cycle changes. - Glucagon lowers your appetite and promotes fat digestion. The level of this hormone lowers after a stressful situation — and that’s how certain people begin stress eating. - Adrenaline (epinephrine) boosts metabolic processes and burns fat tissue. Epinephrine is all about the brightest emotions that you feel under certain (sometimes extreme) circumstances. - Testosterone is considered to be the male hormone, but it also plays an important role in the female body. An excess of testosterone leads to an increase in body weight, and fat tissue is stored in the upper parts of the body (arms, chest, and neck). - Excessive weight often indicates a lack of adiponectin, especially if the fat is mainly stored in the midsection. If you’ve been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, it’s likely that the level of adiponectin in your body is too low. How to Reduce Cortisol Naturally (Stress Hormone)

05:45
Have you seen the self-help books on how to reduce stress? So which one has the real answer? Two reasons that spring to mind as instigators are: finances and romances. But that’s not all; there’s often a kaleidoscope of trouble brewing internally. The hypothalamus located in your brain starts to ring the alarm. Then the adrenal glands rev up production of cortisol – which is known as the stress hormone. In today’s video we’ll take an in-depth look at this steroid hormone and learn more about its function. Cortisol’s responsibilities Helps keep insulin in check Helps us remain in control as we respond to stress Helps regulate blood pressure Aids the immune system’s health It sounds like a good hormone, but a continuously high level of cortisol can lead to Cushing’s syndrome. Some of the causes of Cushing’s syndrome Chronic stress Adrenal gland problems Consuming too much alcohol Depression Symptoms of Cushing’s syndrome Mood swings Not your typical moody blue days – but days on end when you can’t seem to enjoy anything. Digestive problems When cortisol levels are too high, energy is diverted away from the gastrointestinal tract. This rerouting process reduces enzyme production, which hampers digestion. Heart disease and High Blood Pressure When too much stress in your life triggers an over-abundance of cortisol, it may elevate your blood pressure. This can place you at a higher risk of heart disease. Sleep problems When we awaken in the morning, cortisol is in full production mode to help us make the transition from sleep to life in the real world. Those who suffer from chronic stress have unstable cortisol concentrations, and they won’t have that extra burst of morning cortisol. Weight gain The next time you feel a craving for carb-laden foods and sweets, you may be able to blame it on cortisol. Having a high amount for an extended period can stimulate an appetite for food you wouldn’t ordinarily want to eat. Premature wrinkles Leave it to this pesky hormone to make a visible statement on our faces. High cortisol levels can dehydrate our skin, leaving it prone to premature wrinkles. Other symptoms include: Aches and pains, especially backaches More susceptive to infections, as cortisol may weaken the immune system Growth of facial hair in women Development of pinkish/purple stretch marks on non-pregnant women These symptoms develop gradually, at least in most cases. Therefore, it may take time before a problem is clearly recognized. But if you suspect you may have too much cortisol, you can make lifestyle changes to reduce it. How to lower your cortisol production 1. Eliminate caffeine It’s worth a try to eliminate it from you diet for 2 weeks. Reports indicate that 200mg of caffeine can elevate blood cortisol by 30% in only 1 hour. 2. Sleep deeper and longer Sleep deprivation can create a host of health issues. Perhaps you could try a natural substance, Inositol. It’s a branch of the vitamin B family and is naturally present in certain foods. 3. Exercise regularly Exercise is a stress buster. It not only builds muscle mass but it also causes your brain to produce serotonin and dopamine. These two brain chemicals reduce stress, depression and anxiety. 4. Keep your blood sugar stable That includes banning donuts and cookies from your plate. Consuming excess refined sugar and simple carbs can cause your insulin production to soar. 5. Drink more water Staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water will also keep cortisol from spiking. Drink a glass of water when you go to bed and when you first awaken. 6. Take anti-stress supplements These can be found naturally in calcium, vitamins B and C, magnesium, zinc and CoQ 10 7. Meditate or listen to relaxation tapes Much of the music today can break the sound barrier. If you want to relax and lower your cortisol, turn on some soft music. Or try meditation. We have enough bad stuff on our plate – and that can get us tangled in knots. Take control and lower your cortisol. You’ll be glad you did. This week Reactions is taking a look at the chemistry that happens in your body when someone transitions genders. A big part of gender transition is hormone replacement therapy (HRT). This week, Reactions talks about the science of HRT and what happens when the body undergoes major shifts in estrogen and testosterone — two very powerful hormones.
