Whey Protein & Prostate Cancer

41:10
http://www.balancedhealthtoday.com/endosterol.html http://www.balancedhealthtoday.com/store/endosterol.html Prostate cancer is a malignant tumor that affects the prostate, a walnut-sized gland in men located below the bladder. Prostate cancer is the third most common cause of cancer-related death among men of all ages, the University of Maryland Medical Center says. Researchers bathed isolated prostate cells in a solution containing whey protein and this caused the prostate cells to express more glutathione, a powerful antioxidant, according to EurekaAlert.org. Enhanced levels of glutathione in prostate cells decreases your risk of developing prostate cancer. Prostate Cancer Risk Factors Your risk of developing prostate cancer is affected by factors such as age, ethnicity, family history and diet. About 70 percent to 90 percent of men by the age of 80 have had prostate cancer, the American Cancer Society says. People of African and Caucasian descent have a higher probability of developing prostate cancer than Latin Americans, the University of Maryland Medical Center notes. If you have brothers who have prostate cancer, then you are about 4.5 times more likely to have prostate cancer. If you have a father with prostate cancer, you are 2.3 times likely to develop it. Eating a diet with a lot of saturated fat will increase your testosterone production. Testosterone stimulates prostate growth and increases your chances of developing prostate cancer. Whey Protein Protection from Prostate Cancer Free radical build-up in the prostate area is closely associated with the onset of cancer, EurekAlert.org explains. Researchers at Ohio State University treated human prostate cells with whey protein for two days and measured the glutathione levels after. The human prostate cells treated with whey proteins increased glutathione levels by as much as 64 percent. The experiment also demonstrated that the sample treated with a dose that was half the concentration of the other increased levels of glutathione by about 60 percent. This suggests that even a small dose of whey protein can be immensely beneficial to prostate cells. Whey protein contains cysteine, an amino acid that increases glutathione in the prostate. Cysteine helps to make healthy levels of glutathione in the prostate. Healthy levels of glutathione in the prostate protects the gland from cancer. Whey Protein Dose As an appetite suppressant, adults should take up to 50 g of whey protein once a day, MayoClinic.com says. The dose can be adjusted to compensate for body weight at a rate of half a gram of whey protein for every kilogram of body weight. The recommended daily dose also varies according to purpose. Children under 18 years of age can take 1 g of whey protein per 1 kg of body weight. Whey Protein Side Effects and Interactions Whey protein lowers blood sugar levels and may increase the risk of bleeding, MayoClinic.com notes. Diabetics and those with bleeding disorders should seek medical advice before taking whey protein in order to avoid adverse reactions. Whey protein may increase or decrease the effects of medications and supplements, so talk to your doctor before using whey protein. http://www.balancedhealthtoday.com/store/ http://balancedhealthtoday.com/products.html

The Truth About Whey Protein With Thomas DeLauer

07:19
Reset Your Physique Starting Now: http://go2.sixpackshop.com/SH2a5 -- Subscribe to Tom's channel! https://www.youtube.com/user/TheTdelauer -- Hey Guys, Thomas here today with Six Pack Shortcuts. Today I’m here to go through one of the most highly-discussed topics in fitness: protein powder. News flash guy...protein powders are NOT important just because of their protein content. Anytime we consume protein, it causes a spike our insulin levels - this is called being insulinogenic. This reaction opens up our cells to be more receptive to the nutrients from the protein you are taking in...Let’s breakdown the best forms of protein powder to continue building lean muscle and getting you closer to your six pack abs. My most favorite type of protein powder hands-down is grass-fed whey protein isolate. When you notice the words “protein isolate” on the label, that means the protein has been separated from all the unnecessary junk in the whey so the protein that is being absorbed is much more pure. Any “grass-fed” protein means the whey is being derived from naturally-sourced, non-grain fed cattle that will pass down the good nutrients from their diet into the protein you will be taking in. Second to grass-fed whey protein isolate is pea protein. Pea protein is good for your digestive system and is something a bit different so that you can change up your protein intake so your body doesn’t get too accustomed to the same sources of nutrients. The third best form of protein powder isn’t even powder...It’s meat. You can't out-supplement protein from whole foods in your diet. I recommend options like organic chicken breast or sustainably-caught fish like cod. A word of caution everyone...Stay away from casein protein. Casein digests slowly over night and because it causes excess mucus production in your intestines, also causes the uptake of other good nutrients to slow as well. Smaller quantities of casein will be absorbed into the body through eating the right whole foods. Beef protein protein powder is another form I would suggest you to stay away from. The quality of beef protein powder cut with outside amino acids is not nearly as beneficial as eating an actual nice cut of beef or sticking to grass-fed whey protein isolate for cleaner and healthier results. What I want you guys to take away from this video today is the importance of what you choose to put into your body - if you eat clean and source your nutrients the healthy way, you are more likely to get better, cleaner results. Make sure to also change up what you’re eating to avoid triggering unwanted antibody responses in the body that can result in a nutrition plateau. I always want to hear what else you guys are wondering about or confused on with fitness and nutrition, so in the comments below let me know what topic we should shed some light on next. Train Hard! Thomas DeLaurer P.S. ▼ 5 Best Proteins For Faster Fat Loss, More Muscle and Energy [Clinically Proven]

08:14
Discover The Big “Weight Loss Scam” - Why 93% of Diet & Exercise Programs Fail. Plus, how you can quickly and naturally turn ON your “fat burning genes”: ►http://drsam.co/yt/StartRightNow ======================================= 5 Best Proteins For Faster Fat Loss, More Muscle and Energy [Clinically Proven] ======================================= Fat loss and achieving a lean, strong, youthful body is not about starving yourself or spending hours in the gym. Rather, it is about eating the right foods that energize you fill you up give you the most nutrients per calorie. Protein foods happen to be the best macronutrient for achieving all three of those goals. They’re a pivotal component of any diet aimed at improving your body composition and anti-aging, fat-burning hormones. Yes, carbohydrates and fat are also important and provide many body composition benefits, but protein deserves special attention because It raises your metabolism because it costs the body more calories to process protein than carbs or fat. It’s filling because eating it causes the release of gut hormones that keep you satisfied. It helps manage blood sugar and insulin, decreasing cravings for carbs. Today you’ll discover the 5 most nutrient-rich, digestible protein sources and discuss how they can help you lose fat, build muscle and have more energy. Pre Warning - One things I’d like to mention is that due to genetics, we all tolerate foods differently. So please pay attention to how YOUR body likes or dislikes any foods source, including protein. #1: Eggs Eggs are a perfect source of protein, scoring highest on the scientific scale for protein quality because they provide a wealth of amino acids (l-leucine) that are used by your body to repair muscle tissue. Eggs also contain powerful brain nutrients (choline) beneficial fats and vitamins (D, K) Antioxidants that reduce inflammation Improves insulin health and metabolism. It’s a “super food” that will keep you satisfied and promotes optimal body composition. By the way, I’m referring to WHOLE eggs, not just the “egg whites”. Nature made eggs perfect because it contains all the essential amino acids, with the yolk and white forming the perfect blend together. #2: Whey Protein Isolate You probably know that whey protein is the best “sports” protein because it stimulates muscle building “protein synthesis” more than all other sources. Whey is highly digestible and contains the best amino acids that are involved in muscle building, metabolism, and immune function. Whey is great for fat loss and has been used in clinical settings to cure diabetes stimulate mitochondrial activity (more energy) reduce blood pressure fix your gut prevent muscle loss in the elderly treat cancer and improve blood flow, cholesterol levels and bone health. #3: Grass-Fed, Grass-Finished Beef (BISON) Beef provides an excellent profile of essential amino acids and it performs well in metabolic studies. Now, I suggest Bison/Buffalo over beef (cow) because Leaner meat Better for the environment They are treated a LOT better than cows Less in saturated fats Everything about Bison is better than beef/cow meat. #4: Salmon I think wild caught, salmon is the best fish and probably one of the healthiest sources of protein. It has all the correct aminos acids and it’s also high in omega 3 fats, which as you may know, is very good for inflammation, your body, skin, hair, eyes, brain and heart. Salmon is one of the safest fish and typically has the least contaminants and mercury out of all the cold-water fish. #5: Non-Traditional Protein Sources Some of my favorite and healthiest proteins sources are from vegetables, collagen and bone-broth. Now, these may not always have the “highest quality” of protein per gram, but in my opinion, they are one of the healthiest. Bone Broth and Collagen proteins are amazing for your joints, skin, hair, muscles and digestion. Vegetable proteins are fantastic for overall health and longevity, let alone the environment and humanity. In fact, over half of my protein comes from these sources. How Does Whey Protein Affect Fat Loss and Insulin - Thomas DeLauer

Click Here to Subscribe: http://Bit.ly/ThomasVid Get Antler Farms Grass-Fed Whey Protein Here: https://www.antlerfarms.com/new-zealand-whey-protein-isolate.htm Website: http://ThomasDeLauer.com How Does Whey Protein Affect Fat Loss and Insulin: Yep, whey protein can cause an increase in insulin, just like sugar! Learn about how it works! http://www.thomasdelauer.com How does whey protein affect insulin and fat loss? Isn't whey a protein, not a carb?? Effect of Whey Protein on Insulin Whey is one of the two main proteins in milk - the other is casein. Whey, like all proteins, is made up of amino acids, the building blocks of protein. When we consume protein, we then break down these amino acids and use them for muscle growth and tissue repair. Whey contains all three BCAAs along with all of the essential amino acids. Whey is highly insulinogenic - consuming whey leads to a sharp increase in insulin levels. This response does not have to do with blood sugar levels - when a food has a high glycemic index, consuming it will cause a large increase in blood sugar levels. In response to this, the body produces insulin to combat the high blood sugar and allow glucose to enter our cells for energy. This is not what is happening when we consume whey - insulin release is responding to amino acids, not glucose levels. Insulin binds to cells to allow them to take up energy, which can be glucose or amino acids from proteins. The amino acids in whey cause an insulin release. Whey also leads to the release of GIP and GLP-1, two gastrointestinal hormones that also raise insulin levels. This increase in insulin is actually a good thing! Whey is a fast acting protein, and the spike in insulin allows amino acids into the muscle cells to encourage repair, helping us to gain muscle and heal quickly. Consuming whey protein has actually been shown to lower blood glucose levels when consumed during or directly before a meal. A 2005 study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that when whey was combined in a high-sugar meal, individuals with type-2 diabetes had a lower blood glucose level following the meal than if no whey was consumed. This is thought to be because the increased insulin aided the body in glucose digestion. Generally, the better the whey, the higher the insulin spike and thus the more effective at delivering building blocks into the cells for the purpose or repair and growth. Best to consume whey directly following exercise. It is quickly broken down and made available to muscle cells for repair post workout. Whey protein isolate contains 90% protein and thus has less lactose, fat and cholesterol than whey protein concentrate. To get the most out of your protein, go for the whey protein isolate. You will experience less bloating and get more of the benefits - lean, ripped muscles. Too much protein is dangerous, so be sure not to consume excess protein. Excess protein can lead to increased fat storage and calcium loss, which can lead to osteoporosis. References: 1. Are protein powders safe? - The scientific TRUTH - BeerBiceps Gym Tips

05:39
Another HIGHLY requested video. How often do you meet someone who says something like, "I'll eat as many eggs as possible and as much real food as possible, but NO PROTEIN SUPPLEMENTS. EVER." Invariably, most people who work out longer than 6 months end up using protein powders. Every fit INDIAN who ever started gymming has always doubted the safety and legitimacy of bodybuilding supplements at some point. But ultimately, these opinions change over time. These same individuals use the internet and educate themselves. So all you Indians out there who gym regularly, I feel your pain. The hardest thing is to convince OTHERS of the safety and benefits of supplements. The general public – Parents, spouses and other people who have never seen a dumbell in their life, these people have HUGE misconceptions about these supplements. This is mainly because of the lack of correct fitness education amongst the majority of the Indian population. I've heard people come up to me and say things like "Protein shakes? More like shakes of poison." Amongst the general population, the word "supplement" is mostly always associated with steroids. Indians tend to jump to conclusions and assume that simple protein shakes will have the same effect as steroids – Hair loss, kidney failure, impotency, etc. The list is endless. A list of endless and baseless myths. So this video is primarily for EVERY GYMMER out there. Go show it to the individuals who always tend to argue with you without backing their arguments with strong reasoning. Go show it to your mom, who flips out every time you need more protein. But above all, share this video with the general public. This country needs to know the truth. Its high time this country gets fit-educated. (All proceeds Dr. Greger receives from the sales of his books, DVDs, and speaking engagements go to support the 501c3 nonprofit that runs NutritionFacts.org.) DESCRIPTION: Animal protein consumption triggers the release of the cancer-promoting growth hormone IGF-1. For background on IGF-1 see IGF-1 as One-Stop Cancer Shop (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/igf-1-as-one-stop-cancer-shop/) and Cancer-Proofing Mutation (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/cancer-proofing-mutation/). In The Answer to the Pritikin Puzzle (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/the-answer-to-the-pritikin-puzzle/) we established that the reason the blood of those eating plant-based diets appeared so much better at fighting cancer cell growth, see Ex Vivo Cancer Proliferation Bioassay (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/developing-an-ex-vivo-cancer-proliferation-bioassay/), is likely due to the drop in IGF-1 levels, especially those following vegan diets as per Friday's video-of-the-day How Plant-Based to Lower IGF-1 (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/how-plant-based-to-lower-igf-1/). Now it appears we know why—their avoidance of animal protein. Let's go one level deeper and ask why animal protein preferentially triggers IGF-1 release. Stay tuned for tomorrow's video-of-the-day Higher Quality May Mean Higher Risk (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/higher-quality-may-mean-higher-risk/). Have a question for Dr. Greger about this video? Is Soy Protein Safe For Men - Does Soy Reduce Testosterone? (The Truth)

05:27
Is soy protein safe? Does it reduce testosterone? Those are controversial questions so I decided to make a quick video to clear things up. ►If you found this video helpful hit Subscribe to support the channel and share the video with your friends to spread the word◄ Key Points: So is soy really that bad for men? You hear things like breast cancer, lowering testosterone and a whole range of things about soy from the bodybuilding nutrition world. Now the question is, are any of those things based on Science or are we simply talking about Mythology which can be the case with things like this. In 2010 there was actually a meta-analysis with the objective to determine if isoflavones exert estrogen-like effects in men by lowering bioavailable T through evaluation of the effects of soy protein or isoflavone intake on T, sex hormone–binding globulin (SHBG), free T, and free androgen index (FAI) in men. Study link: http://www.fertstert.org/article/S0015-0282(09)00966-2/abstract?cc=y= And the results was fairly straightforward: No significant effects of soy protein or isoflavone intake on T, SHBG, free T, or FAI were detected regardless of statistical model. The results of this meta-analysis suggest that neither soy foods nor isoflavone supplements alter measures of bioavailable T concentrations in men. Now, if we wanna lean on the side of caution the rational thing to do is to determine what was the dose tested and consider that as an upper limit. Soy contains phytoestrogen, a compound that mimicks estrogen in the body. Also a compound where the supposed health benefits come from. In moderate amounts phystoestrongens have no negative impact on health. The cut off for the phytoestrogen intake seems to be about 50-75mg / day. And if we translate that to how much soy we can eat that's about 25g of soy protein per day. Now, that doesn't mean that eating more soy above that range would be harmful but we can be sure that doses in that range are completely safe with no negative side-effects. Sadly in the nutrition world people are often extremists, we don't do anything in moderation. When "Soy is good" came along as the general belief as it does help with lowering cholesterol and reduces risk of certain cancers we again didn't apply moderation. The same is with anything that we see is good, either from training, nutrition and especially supplements. If some soy is good for us, then more must be better. (Same happened with fiber, and a lot of people got sick) So then we went from a little bit of soy every day is good for you, to I'm gonna eat everything that has soy in it. And also add supplements with soy on top of that. That's when the issues start and that's sadly how most people still are today. It's not that the nutritent or the food is specifically bad but it's that people can't do anything in moderation. When you start pumping in tons of anything there's potentially negative effects. Dose makes the poison. Take things with a moderate approach and you'll avoid 99% of the problems. Do "High" Protein Diets Cause Cancer ?

08:25
More vids, articles, blogs and books: http://www.brinkzone.com/ Cancer and protein, is their a connection? A recent study claims it found a link between "high" protein diets and cancer rates. Is it true? Learn the FACTS in this video! Red Meat and Health -- have we been blaming the wrong thing? Frequent consumption of red and processed meat has been shown in population studies to be positively correlated with cardiovascular disease [1-3], cancer and type 2 diabetes. Recent meta-analyses also indicate that it increases total mortality [4]. Hence, a high meat intake (regardless of its fat quantity and quality) is generally perceived to be unhealthy and something that should be avoided. However, although there are many studies documenting these associations, results are not always consistent and there are several methodological issues which weakens the strength of their findings (more on that in a bit). In the same way as the putative health risks of red meat consumption is investigated, its documented health benefits (which I will cover below) are equally as important and must be given a fair chance in the establishment of public health messages in relation to red meat consumption. In this article I will therefore cover both the risks and benefits associated with red meat consumption, and after having taken all the scientific data into consideration, argue that meat has been unfairly blamed... Grass Fed Whey Protein Isolate | Healthy Protein Powders- Thomas DeLauer

Grass Fed Whey Protein Isolate | Healthy Protein Powders- Thomas DeLauer: Is Grass-Fed Whey Protein Worth It? Let's dive into some detail here! More information at http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com If the Grass-Fed Whey Protein in the video is something that you're interested in, you can find it on their website at http://www.antlerfarms.com/new-zealand-whey-protein-isolate.htm Whey is a popular protein powder as it contains all three BCAAs along with all of the essential amino acids. Whey is a fast acting protein, and the spike in insulin caused by consuming whey allows amino acids into the muscle cells to encourage repair, helping us to gain muscle and heal quickly. Generally, the better the whey, the higher the insulin spike and thus the more effective at delivering building blocks into the cells for the purpose of repair and growth. Whey protein isolate contains 90% protein, higher than that of whey concentrate. Whey protein isolate also contains less lactose, cholesterol and fat as compared to traditional whey. It is best to consume whey directly following exercise. It is quickly broken down and made available to muscle cells for repair post workout. Why is Grass Fed the Way to Go? Other than the ethical benefits of consuming whey from grass fed cows, what are the health benefits? Because whey protein isolate separates the vast majority of the fat and fat-soluble vitamins from the protein to get maximum protein, the main benefits come from the avoiding of hormones and antibiotics. When we consume animal products it is crucial that the animals be healthy and treated well. When a cow is healthy, their bodies are healthier and will produce meat and dairy higher in nutritional content than if they are fed unnaturally and under constant stress. 100% grass fed cows are the way to go as they eat what is naturally healthy for them and live lives in pastures, experiencing sunlight and nature. No Hormones, Antibiotics or Chemicals: When cattle are kept in close proximity to one another and are fed foods that are not what they would naturally eat, they become sick and are fed hormones and antibiotics to keep them alive. These pass through to the dairy and to your protein isolate. Grain-fed cattle have been shown to suffer from metabolic stress, respiratory diseases and infectious diseases. 100% grass fed, pasture raised cows are free of these negative health components that can be passed on to us. Hormones fed to cattle pass on and can impact our own hormonal systems. These effects have been found to cause multiple types of cancers. Antibiotics fed to cattle can also pass onto us. -Insulin like growth factor 1 has been linked to colon, pancreas, breast and prostate tumors References: 1. Whey Vs Casein : Which Protein Powder Wins?

05:05
Including a high quality protein powder in your diet plan is a very easy and convenient way to ensure that your daily protein needs are being met for maximum muscle growth and fat loss. Whey and casein are two of the most popular forms that are sold, but which one is superior? What is the difference between whey and casein, and should you use one over the other, or both? #Whey_Vs_CaseinProtein #Whey_Protein #Casein_Protein Whey Vs. Casein Protein: The typical advice you'll hear on this issue is that whey is a "fast acting" protein, while casein is a "slow absorbing" protein. It's then usually said that whey powder should be used for pre and post workout purposes, while casein powder should be used at night when you need a prolonged release of protein. In reality, protein digestion is a very gradual process no matter what type of protein you consume, and as long as you're following a balanced muscle building diet and hitting your protein needs for the day as a whole, worrying about the absorption speeds of your protein powder is really a non issue. For that reason, I'd simply recommend going with the higher quality source. In a direct comparison of whey protein vs casein, whey has a better overall amino acid profile and bio-availability, and in my view is the better choice. Not only that, but when you compare the taste and texture of casein protein vs whey, for most people it's a no contest. Whey mixes up much easier and has a smoother, creamier texture, while casein protein is extremely thick, "gel like" and doesn't taste as good. Does Soy Cause Cancer?

02:56
The real answer to this question is “it’s complicated,” but Lauren breaks down the current research and evidence for you. Learn more at HowStuffWorks.com: http://recipes.howstuffworks.com/soy-bad-for-you1.htm Share on Facebook: http://goo.gl/2TzT9N Share on Twitter: http://goo.gl/17YitP Subscribe: http://goo.gl/ZYI7Gt Visit our site: http://www.brainstuffshow.com I’m Lauren, this is BrainStuff, and our question today is “Does soy cause cancer?” I wanna be awkwardly straightforward here: The answer is “it’s complicated”. But I’m gonna break down the current research and evidence for you. First, let’s talk about soy. It’s pretty cheap to cultivate because it yields a lot of edible stuff per acre. You can cook and eat soybeans, of course, but you can also process them into soy sauce, miso paste, soy oil, soy milk, tofu, fat-free soy meal and etc., or even isolate out particular compounds. Each type of soy product has (obviously) different nutritional properties. So saying that soy as a whole “does” anything is treading on shaky ground. But! One of the things that soy can do is act like estrogen in your body. That’s because soybeans contain particles called isoflavones, which are chemically similar to estrogens. They’re less potent than estrogen, but similar enough that isoflavones can fit into cellular receptors that were designed for estrogen. For example, breast tissue cells contain estrogen receptors. And sometimes, when a li’l chunk of estrogen locks into one of those receptors, it causes a chain reaction that encourages cancerous tumor growth. But isoflavones can block it from happening! If isoflavones get to those receptors first, the estrogen can’t lock in and set off the tumorous reaction. Isoflavones can also spur cells to produce a protein that binds to free-roaming estrogen in your body, meaning it has a hard time locking into receptors. And isoflavones can even prevent estrogen from forming in fat tissue the first place. So eating soy food products may help prevent some cancer. And yes, research backs this up. In medical studies following large populations of women for many years, eating a variety of soy stuff as part of your normal diet has been found to either have no association with breast cancer or sometimes to protect against it. Now, there are laboratory studies with mice and rats that have linked cancer specifically to two types of soy protein isolates and to high doses of isoflavones. But mice are not men. We need more research to determine whether the same link is present in humans, and if so, at what levels of consumption. Important note: The soy isolates used in these studies aren’t what go into our food – though they are similar to soy supplement pills. There are so many factors involved in diet and lifestyle and cancer. It’s nigh impossible to link any food to cancer definitively at our current level of knowledge. But basically, science says that it’s safe to eat a moderate amount of soy products, cancerwise. You just probably shouldn’t take soy supplements until we learn more about how they affect us. Medical Doctor Explains Whey Protein Supplements

03:33
Whey protein is the most essential ingredient in building lean muscle tissue, especially during the post-workout period when muscle cells are most vulnerable and “hungry" When the body is exposed to physical stress, such as exercise, whey protein optimizes muscle repair by speeding the time it takes to regenerate muscle tissue, mainly by increasing the antioxidant glutathione. Whey protein is a mixture of globular proteins isolated from whey, the liquid material created as a by-product of cheese production Most proteins on the market are comprised mainly of whey protein concentrate Whey concentrate is the least processed form and cheapest to manufacture, and it contains some fat and lactose. Whey concentrates range from 25-80% protein by weight, depending on quality. Whey Isolate is the highest quality whey protein available on the market and is the protein of choice labeled for bariatric, diabetic and geriatric use. Research shows that whey isolate can augment the growth response to weight-training sessions, reduce body fat and recovery time, and reduce muscle soreness. Whey isolate has the highest amount of BCAAs per serving among the different types of protein. Among all the forms of protein, casein has the lowest amount of BCAAs. Whey protein isolate contains the highest level of leucine, which promotes the synthesis of muscle protein and muscle growth. Leucine also promotes the loss of fat tissue because of the energy the body needs to process leucine. When compared with soy protein isolate, whey protein isolate has 50 percent more leucine. Post- Edge™ is the only all-in-one post workout formula that utilizes Cold Processed Cross-Flow Ultra-Microfiltered Whey Protein Isolate, which has the highest amount of BCAAs, is most rapidly absorbed and increases protein synthesis greater than any other protein. Research has show that Whey Isolate simultaneously increases amino acid availability and insulin to your muscles (working synergistically with Post-Edge’s Insulin Activation Anabolic Matrix) thereby maximally stimulating muscle protein synthesis and inhibiting muscle protein breakdown. Microfiltration is a process to filter out fat, lactose, ash, and larger protein molecules that are more difficult to absorb. These are present in whey concentrates, casein and other lower quality whey protein powders. Post-Edge’s whey protein is micro-filtered through cold process, not ion exchange. The ion exchange process selectively depletes many of protein’s subfractions, thereby reducing the overall health value of the protein. A better processing method uses low temperatures and low acid conditions to maintain the natural undenatured bioavailable state of the protein. Whey protein isolate is the easiest powder to mix without causing lumps in your shaker. Whey protein has an anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory effect, supporting immune function. It has also been found to have anti-cancer properties in studies using rats. “Multi-Phase Protein Blends” are a marketing tactic where supplement companies include minimal amounts of quality protein and load it with cheap protein concentrates or junk fillers to cut costs and increase profit margins. For example, you could purchase a fancy sounding “30g Multi-Phase Protein Complex.” This means that 29g of this product could be loaded with cheap, low-grade protein concentrates/ junk fillers and only 1g is Whey Isolate. Be sure to check the nutrition label to see if the exact grams are listed! If they are not included, it is safe to assume that the amount of whey protein isolate used is minimal. Otherwise, the companies would be proud to list the actual dosages. This is a great marketing strategy for these supplement companies since they kill two birds with one stone. By labeling it a “complete multi-phase protein blend” product, they will attract more consumers. By using minimal amounts of quality protein, they cut costs drastically. The Net Result: more sales, less costs. These companies have had their day since consumers are now catching on. DO NOT FALL for this trick! Some supplement companies incorporate another dirty trick called “nitrogen spiking”, an additional way for companies to cut costs by adding cheaper amino acids like glycine and taurine to increase the overall nitrogen/protein content. The only added amino acid included in Post-Edge™ is leucine – the most potent activator of mTOR - which spikes protein synthesis, insulin, IGF-1 & IGF-2, in turn increasing growth hormone (GH) receptor stimulation for muscle growth as well as absorption of glucose, amino acids and creatine into muscle cells (which are depleted during workouts). LionEdge Nutrition™ does not hide behind its label. Every serving of Post-Edge™ includes 25g of protein and all 25g come directly from whey isolate!

💪 Everything You Want & Need To Know About Protein Powders

Watch Part 2 of the Best Protein series here: 👉👉 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRu9qVrur1E Or watch this video on how to gain more muscle by eating LESS protein: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mo1QV_gY_yY ==================================== 💪 Everything You Want & Need To Know About Protein Powders ==================================== I get a ton of questions about protein powders. And rightly so, there’s so much confusion about it. Lots of misinformation. And of course, this is because there are so many protein powders and types, which only adds to the frustration. So, today I’m going to reveal everything you want and NEED to know about Protein Powders How much total protein you need during the day and with each meal. What’s the best and worst proteins for building muscle and losing fat. What’s the best protein for health and longevity I’ll also discuss vegetarian/vegan protein sources. I’ll tell you what I use personally. And this is the first time I making this information public, so please pay attention. Because this is such an important topic, I’ve turned it into a 2 part series and most likely, I’ll make an additional 3rd part with Frequently Ask Questions. I’m Just Like You... And I’m putting in all this time and effort for you because I’m just like you - I used to be totally confused about protein. In fact, in the old days I used to buy some “crash weight gain” powder by Weider with Arnold on the product. It was junk, but that’s all we had then. Later I would buy these big tubs of protein - it was called something like “Mega Weight Gainer” or “Mega Mass” or something like that. It was by Weider again… How Much Protein Do You Really Need? People selling you protein powders are always pushing you to eat more protein, but you don’t need to. I’ve tried as little as 0.5 grams per pound of body weight (about 100 grams/400 calories) to as high as 3 grams per pound of body weight (600 grams/2400 calories). More will NOT build any extra muscle - especially in the long-run… and if anything, it’ll increase muscle breakdown (which I’ve done a video about this as well). Plus, it’s just very unhealthy to have so much protein. What I’ve found is the most amount of protein you really need is about 1 gram per pound of bodyweight. I weigh about 200 lbs and I eat about 200 grams (800 calories). Even if you’re taking steroids and working out really hard - you do NOT need more protein. I’d rather you ate more fat and carbs. How Much Protein Per Meal? https://www.muscleforlife.com/the-truth-about-protein-absorption-how-often-you-should-eat-protein-to-build-muscle/ I’ve read all the studies, listened to all the experts about this. There are studies showing that your body can only absorb about 10 grams per hour, depending on the type of protein (whey being the best). Another study shows only 20 grams per meal is required for maximum protein synthesis. Eating more didn’t increase protein synthesis. And in another study, it showed eating all the protein in ONE meal, instead of 4, made no difference. Granted, these were women who only ate 50 grams of protein daily. And in an Intermittent Fasting study, eating all of the protein during a 4 hour time window and then fasting 20 hours didn’t cause muscle loss … However, it also didn’t cause muscle gains (protein synthesis) either. Now, there are lots of factors here - age, they type of protein, your hormona profile (being the most important) and what you’re eating the protein with (fats, carbs, fiber, etc.) all make a difference. However, let me keep it simple for you. Try to eat between 25-40 grams of protein, per meal, spread out evenly throughout the day. What’s The Worst Protein For Building Muscle & Losing Fat? If I had to pick one protein source you should avoid, it’s SOY. Unfortunately, it’s in everything because it’s cheap and it’s been Genetically Modified (GMO). So, there’s your muscle loss. Additionally, soy decreases thyroid production, especially the primary hormone - T3, which controls your metabolism. So, there’s your fat gaining. What’s The Best Protein For Gaining Muscle & Losing Fat? If I had to pick one, it comes down to Whey protein. However, not any kind of Whey because I believe most of them aren’t good. I think the best is Whey Isolate and more specifically, cold-filtration, grass fed Whey Isolate. ======================================== Thank you for watching. Isolation of Casein Protein from Milk

03:22
Milk is a mixture of many types of proteins, most of them present in very small amounts. Milk proteins are classified into three main groups of proteins on the basis of their widely different behaviors and forms of existence. They are caseins (80%), whey proteins and minor proteins. Casein is a heterogeneous mixture of phosphorous containing proteins in milk. Casein is present in milk as calcium salt and calcium caseinate. It is a mixture of alpha, beta and kappa caseins to form a cluster called micelle. These micelles are responsible for the white opaque appearance of milk. Casein, like proteins, are made up of many hundreds of individual amino acids. Each may have a positive or a negative charge, depending on the pH of the [milk] system. At some pH value, all the positive charges and all the negative charges on the [casein] protein will be in balance, so that the net charge on the protein will be zero. Source- http://vlab.amrita.edu/?sub=3&brch=63&sim=158&cnt=1 Get in touch with solution by just clicking following links- Facebook page- https://www.facebook.com/pharmavideo/ Facebook Group- https://www.facebook.com/groups/solutionpharamcy Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/solutionpharmacy/ Mail Us for Free Pharmacology Materials- solutionpharmacy@gmail.com

Organic vs Grass-fed Protein Powders

02:24
If you prefer to use grass-fed whey protein powder for ethical reasons, then by all means, fork out a little extra cash for the stuff. If, however, you think it'll offer up superior health benefits, or you're concerned about antibiotics and hormones, your money may be going to waste. Educate yourself ► www.jymsupplementscience.com Get JYM Supplements ► https://www.amazon.com/JYM-Supplement-Science/pages/14163528011 First, you need to consider what exactly makes milk from grass-fed cows better for you. It's the fat! Organically raised, grass-fed cows have higher amounts of the all-important and essential Omega-3 fats, conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), and vitamin E (a fat-soluble vitamin) than their grain-fed counterparts and these nutrients are found in the milk fat. But the protein is processed to isolate the protein from the carbs and the fat. In fact, a quality protein has close to 100 percent of the fat removed. This means that if a protein-powder manufacturer is using protein from organic milk, nearly all of the extra omega-3 fats, CLA, and vitamin E have been removed during the manufacturing process anyway! 15 Unexpected Side Effects Of Whey Protein.

12:43
15 Unexpected Side Effects Of Whey Protein. Do you have whey protein? If yes, how much of it do you have on a daily basis? Whey protein is undoubtedly healthy and has benefits, but it does come with its own set of side effects. Would you like to know more? Go ahead and read. Whey Protein – A Brief: Although whey protein is considered to be a supplement that is safe, it is best not to go overboard with it. When you consume it more than you should, it can lead to a number of health problems. This risk is even higher when your intake of carbohydrate is low. Milk contains two types of protein; one of them is whey protein. It is water soluble and is used to meet the daily protein requirements. It also provides large amounts of L-cysteine, the amino acid. This amino acid helps in the alleviation of deficiencies that come with conditions such as diabetes aging. Experts call whey protein the “complete protein” as it is rich in all the amino acids required by the human body to repair muscles, bones, tissues, organs, etc. Other complete proteins are foods such as eggs, meat, dairy, etc. One of the pros of whey protein is that it is easy to digest quickly. Benefits Of Whey Protein: Although whey protein is consumed as a supplement, it is much more than that. It is a functional “super food” that helps immensely in the regulation of your body weight. It also helps in increasing muscle mass, and comes with many other health benefits. The health benefits that this nutrient provides are linked directly to the amino acid profile it has. This complete protein is also highly rich in antioxidants, making it an effective fighter against various diseases and a great promoter of overall health. Here is a look at some of the benefits that you can gain by moderately consuming whey protein supplement of high quality on a regular basis: It helps in promoting weight loss. It helps in increasing muscle mass in the body. It helps in the treatment of cancer. It helps in reducing the symptoms that come with HIV. It helps in increasing the levels of glutathione in your body. It helps in lowering triglyceride levels in the body. It helps in lowering cholesterol levels while increasing good cholesterol or HDL. It helps in boosting the proper function of the immune system. It helps in increasing power while playing sports. It helps in lowering recovery time and the symptoms that come with over-training. As you can see, there are quite a few benefits to gain from whey protein intake. The trick is to make sure that you do not take too much of it. Instead of gaining its goodness, you can end up with side effects that may not seem too severe but can be highly uncomfortable. If you have kidney, liver or heart problems, it is especially important to moderate your intake of whey protein and also get your doctor’s advice before you start making it a part of your daily diet. When Should One Take Whey Protein. This is a question that is often asked by many people who are interested in consuming whey protein but do not know how to go about it properly. It is not tough to learn when to take this protein to reap its benefits. Firstly, if you want to take whey protein on its own, you should do it within half an hour to an hour after a workout that is based on strength training. This is because this protein gets digested very quickly. During other times, you should eat it with other foods so that digestion can be slowed down. For instance, for extra protein in your breakfast without foods like eggs, you can add whey protein to your oats in powder form. Secondly, if you want to have a healthy snack while you are in the office, you can have a whey protein-shake combined with a bit of fish oil or nuts. This again will help in slowing down the digestion process of the protein. The fat combination is what helps slow down digestion and this in turn benefits you greatly by allowing the levels of insulin in your body to stay even. It also aids in the stimulation of CCK, which is a hormone that lets your body know when it is full. Protein that is digested after a workout gives your body the amino acids that it needs for the repairing and building of new muscles. According to experts, consuming whey protein as soon as you complete a workout could be especially beneficial as it has a rich content of Leucine, an amino acid that is easily absorbed by the body. Whey Protein Side Effects: Although whey protein has many benefits, it does come with quite a few side effects as well. Here is a look at fifteen of the adverse effects that this protein can have on your body: 1. Excessive Fat Gain: In many cases, whey protein supplements have extra carbohydrates in the form of sugars. There are some that have fats as well. This means that weight can be gained in fat form, which is unhealthy. You can also gain weight when you overeat while consuming whey protein at the same time.

Dr Whiting on Soy VS Whey Protein

09:57
https://phoenixvitamins.com/product/the-whey-best-protein-shake/ There has been a lot of discussion about protein requirements for the human body. In order to maintain lean muscle mass the average person needs around 80 grams of protein every day. There are many sources of protein, the most common of which are from either animal or vegetable sources. Many people choose to rely on a protein concentrate or a protein shake. These usually come as either a soy protein or a whey protein. Soy protein is a natural choice for those wishing to avoid animal derived proteins. In order to meet protein needs, these shakes have become very popular. Protein digestion is often a problem for people as they grow older and these pre-digested protein shakes offer an easy to digest alternative. In spite of Soy protein's continued popularity, there are some decided negatives to its concentrated use. The dangers of soy protein include incomplete protein ingestion, contamination, and most especially an increased intake of estrogen-like compounds, which can raise the estrogen levels of both women and men. The link between estrogen and soy is well established. Our environment provides too much estrogen mimicking chemicals in the form of chemo-estrogens from plastics as an example. The addition of estrogen from soy makes an already serious problem much worse. Since protein has many uses in the body, all of which are vital to both health and longevity, it is easy to understand why people gravitate to soy, which is much cheaper than other forms of protein concentrates. If you were wishing to avoid animal derived protein, a much better alternative to the dangers of soy protein would be rice protein, available in most health food stores. The link between estrogen compounds and soy is significant and these compounds have been linked subsequently to cancer of the breast and ovaries. Whey protein is probably one of the most perfect sources of protein. Whey protein is easy to digest, especially in the pre-digested shakes on the market. The benefits of whey are also many. Whey protein provides complete protein to the body, which means that all the protein is available to the cells of the body. Whey protein digestion is very easy on the body and hence this from of protein easily can meet all the uses of protein in the body. Another benefit of whey protein is its connection with the immune system. Whey protein stimulates and nourishes the immune system. The link between whey protein and the immune system is well documented. Whey protein has none of the negative effects of soy, as it does not contribute any estrogen compounds to the chemistry of the body. Our first choices of protein concentrates are from whey protein.

Is Soy Bad for You?

05:26
For more info: https://draxe.com/is-soy-bad-for-you/?utm_campaign=Youtube-Feb-2015&utm_medium=social&utm_source=youtube&utm_term=soy A common question I’ve received recently is, “Is soy bad for you?” The answer is, yes, the majority of the time. It all depends on the form you’re buying it in. Ninety-five percent of the soy out there today is bad for you. Soy was a different type of soy a long time ago versus the kind of soy we eat today. Today, processed soy contains phytoestrogens, which are estrogen-mimikers in the body. If you’re a male consuming soy, it will give you feminine characteristics or if you’re a female consuming soy, it puts you at risk for breast cancer and hormone imbalance disorders. Additionally 90% of soy today is genetically modified, which kills off the good bacteria in your gut, known as probiotics. Because of the phytoestrogens and GMOs, soy can actually be extremely harmful for you. This includes soy protein, soy milk, or any other soy product. On the other hand, soy can be good for you if it’s in an organic, fermented soy form. This type of soy, also known as Natto, is loaded with probiotics, it’s non-GMO, and high in vitamin K2. The Dangers Of Protein Powders

17:11
Protein powders and supplements such as creatine monohydrate will take a serious toll on your body over time. Even vegan protein powders and raw vegan protein powders will do damage to the kidneys over time. We shouldn't isolate macronutrients and shove them in the body. This created confusion. Some of the negative effects of protein powders commonly manifest as pain and stiffness. Many body builders develop rheumatoid arthritis over time and require joint replacement surgery. This is because the heavy proteins stop kidney filtration and cause the lymphatic system to become stagnant. I encourage all of you to do some research on the side effects of whey protein powder and look into some of the individuals that have taken protein powders long term. High protein diets are unhealthy for those interested in long term health. ↠ Consultation Information ↞ https://rawbwild.com/pages/detoxification-services Join The Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/rawbwild/ ↠ My Website ↞ https://rawbwild.com/ ↠ JOIN THE WILD CLUB/SUPPORT ROB'S WORK ↞ https://www.patreon.com/rawbwild ↠ Social Media ↞ 📸 INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/rawbwild/ 💙 MY FACEBOOK PAGE: https://www.facebook.com/RAWBWILD/ 👻 ADD ME ON SNAPCHAT: RAWBWILD 🐦 FOLLOW ME ON TWITTER: https://twitter.com/rawbwild ↠ Shop ↞ ☼ APPAREL: https://rawbwild.com/collections/apparel-collection ☼ RAW SNACKS: https://rawbwild.com/pages/superfoods-snacks ☼ KITCHENWARE: https://rawbwild.com/pages/kitchenware ☼ BODY CARE: https://rawbwild.com/pages/body-care ☼ FAVORITE BOOKS: https://rawbwild.com/pages/favorite-books ↠ Education ↞ 📖 EATING RAW: https://rawbwild.com/pages/eating-a-raw-food-diet 📖 PROTEIN: https://rawbwild.com/pages/the-protein-scam 📖 EAT IN SEASON: https://rawbwild.com/pages/seasonal-fruit-guide 📖 DISCLOSURE: https://rawbwild.com/pages/diclosure ☆SHINE SOME LIGHT ☀️ IN THE COMMENTS IF YOU'RE FEELING BRIGHT RIGHT NOW☆ ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

Whey Vs Casein: Which Is Best for Strength and Muscle?

07:21
If you lift weights there’s a good chance you consume protein shakes — when someone says “protein shake,” they pretty much always mean whey protein shake. It’s cheap, it’s tasty, and it’s far and away the most popular protein shake on the market. But let's compare it to another popular protein on the market: casein. In the battle of whey versus casein protein, is one superior for strength building and muscle gain? Casein is sort of the dark horse of the protein powders. Like whey it comes from milk, but it’s a little pricier and far less popular. But funnily enough, there’s an argument to be made — a controversial one — that casein could potentially be better for strength and muscle gain. So why isn’t it the go-to post-workout? Today we’re doing to dive deep into the benefits of casein and whey for strength, health, and muscle gain, but let’s start off with the obvious question. What is this stuff? So how does milk protein even get from udder to protein tub? Long story short they're usually products of cheese making. Milk is separated into curds and whey with heat, acid, or enzymes, and the curds — which are high in casein — can be used to make cheese. This is why whey is sometimes considered a waste byproduct, which is why it tends to be a little cheaper than casein. You can take the curds and use them to make cheese or you can process them into powder and generally speaking, the most sought after form of casein is micellar casein. That’s when the protein is encased in an intact micelle, a sort of globular structure, and when that micelle is intact casein appears to be a bit more bioactive and, most importantly, it forms clumps. So what does that mean for strength and muscle gain? We dive into the science to find out which protein might be better for your needs. Have more questions on these two types of protein? Let us know in the comments below!
