A1C test is a blood tests that gives you an average level of your blood sugar over the previous 90 days. The higher the percentage, the higher your average blood glucose levels are, and the higher your risk for either diabetes or related complications due to chronic high blood sugar and insulin levels. It’s much more accurate than checking your blood sugar levels. Needless to say, all of us will look and feel much better and actually help prevent MOST diseases by keeping your A1C levels lower. So with that said, I’m going to quickly discuss 10 clinically proven ways that you can quickly, easily and naturally improve your blood sugar levels, lower your A1C and help avoid and/or reverse many health problems. 1. Exercise Daily Regular, daily exercise can help you lose unwanted fat. But more importantly, helps improve “insulin sensitivity”. 2. Eat The Correct Carbohydrates When you eat carbs, your body converts it into sugar (mostly glucose). As your blood sugar goes up, your body secretes insulin to help lower it back down to a normal, healthy range. Now, carbs are not evil. However, the wrong carbs, especially in high amounts ARE bad for your health. Focus more on vegetables, some yams, little bit of rice, legumes, quinoa and whole grains. Get rid of the bad carbs and eat less total carbs.(2,3,4,5) 3. Eat More Fiber Fiber has so many benefits and sadly, most people are barely getting any. You should be eating at least 25 grams or more. While most Americans are barely getting around 5-10. 4. Eat Smaller Meals, More Often I’m sure you’ve heard about this when it comes to weight loss. However, one of the reasons for the weight loss is the lower blood sugar levels from eating smaller meals. (9,10,11) 5. Watch What You Drink You should never drink your calories -- no sodas, juices, alcohol, “shakes” or anything similar. They all digest quickly and spike up your blood sugar. 6. Manage Your Stress Levels You can’t have health without also discussing stress management. What’s interesting is that stress increases blood sugar levels AND decreases insulin sensitivity. (15,16) And this is because of a change in hormones such as glucagon, cortisol, testosterone, adrenal hormones and so forth. (17,18) 7. Better Quality Sleep You can’t manage your stress if you don’t get enough, quality sleep. Again, this has to do with a negative changes in your hormones when you don’t sleep well. (20,21) 8. Drink Apple Cider Vinegar Apple cider vinegar, like exercise, helps lower blood sugar levels AND improve insulin sensitivity. (22,23,24). 9. Lose Fat Losing unwanted fat and decreasing your belly fat has numerous health benefits. This is even more true with blood sugar levels because the lower your body fat, the higher your insulin sensitivity. 10. Take Natural Supplements Most people just give up after a week or two since they aren’t getting results fast enough, especially for the amount of time and effort. This is why I always suggest people take natural supplements. ======================================== ======================================== Thank you for watching. Do Not Ignore These 10 Early Symptoms of Diabetes

09:00
How to Tell if You Have Diabetes? There are 10 of the most common early signs of diabetes that will help you spot the disease in time. Diabetes is often called “the silent killer”. This is because the early symptoms of this disease are really easy to miss. Watch this video till the end and share it with your friends so that you all will be aware of these most common signs. Remember that timely diagnosis can extend lives! The first symptoms can be so subtle that some people might brush them off as insignificant. Diabetes is a chronic disease that can lead to many serious complications if left untreated. The earlier it’s diagnosed, the easier it will be to manage and the longer your life could be.  If you notice any of these symptoms, especially several of them combined, make an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible. TIMESTAMPS You always feel thirsty and often go to the bathroom 0:41 You're always hungry 1:33 You feel tired and weak all the time 2:19 Your vision is blurred 3:15 You lose weight while eating normally 3:59 Your skin became itchy 4:56 Yeast infections 5:26 Your wounds heal slowly 6:02 Dark patches of skin 6:39 Numb or tingling hands or feet 7:13 SUMMARY There are different tests used to find out if you do have diabetes, so doing just one of them isn’t enough for correct diagnosis. But you should never brush off, postpone, ignore, or avoid going to the doctor if you notice a change in your health, whether it be the symptoms on this list or anything in general. You have to be ready to invest some money and time in your well-being because it’s the most precious thing you have, after all! What Will Happen If You Start Eating Oats Every Day

10:07
Doctors and nutritionists highly recommend making oatmeal a part of your diet and having it as your healthy morning meal. The secret is simple: good-quality environmentally-friendly oats help you feel and look better on the inside and out. Oats have some unique properties thanks to the wide variety of vitamins and minerals they contain. Zinc helps cleanse the skin and remove toxins and other harmful compounds. Iron is one of the most important elements for the nutrition and saturation of moisture in skin cells. Magnesium promotes blood circulation and noticeable skin cell renewal. While protein is extremely important, your body also demands carbohydrates and fats, both of which you can find in oatmeal. Oats are also rich in antioxidants that help alleviate itching, inflammation, and high blood pressure. The slow carbohydrates found in oatmeal help curb your appetite and maintain normal blood sugar levels. All those nutrients in oats not only boost your metabolism but also prevent the accumulation of fat and toxins in the body. Thanks to the antioxidants present in oatmeal, the probability of damage to the walls of blood vessels by free radicals is reduced significantly. If you find it boring to just have oatmeal for breakfast every day, you’ll love the recipes we have put together to help you turn a boring oatmeal breakfast into something way more flavorful. Music: Mint Chocolate 2a - Vibe Mountain https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS Your skin will look better. 0:51 Your muscles will get much-needed protein. 1:48 You’ll get a boost of antioxidants. 2:31 You'll be full of energy. 3:19 You'll lose weight. 4:19 Your cholesterol will decrease. 5:00 You'll have a lower risk of developing heart disease. 5:40 You'll get rid of digestive problems. 6:00 Oatmeal recipes: Apple pie oatmeal 6:50 Oatmeal raisin cookies 7:43 Almond butter-banana oatmeal 8:55 SUMMARY -Oatmeal is ideal for treating inflammatory conditions, like eczema, dermatitis, and skin rashes. It also promotes healthy skin overall. -One serving, or about half a cup, of oatmeal gives your body 15% of the recommended daily amount of protein. Don’t forget about vitamin E, antioxidants, and glutamine, which help muscle fibers regenerate faster. -Oats are rich in antioxidants that help alleviate itching, inflammation, and high blood pressure. -Oatmeal is full of carbohydrates that give your body the energy it needs. -Beta-glucan in oats keeps you from overeating by helping you feel fuller for a longer amount of time and promoting the release of a satiety hormone. -The linoleic acid and soluble fiber contained in oatmeal helps lower the level of bad cholesterol in the blood. -Oats are rich in good healthy fats and support the cells in the heart and circulatory system. -Experts recommend getting at least 25-38 grams of dietary fiber every day since it’s ideal for good digestion. -Try apple pie oatmeal to boost your metabolism. You’ll need oatmeal, almond milk, cinnamon, maple syrup, a large apple and apple sauce to cook it. -The ingredients you’ll need for oatmeal raisin cookies are flour, sea salt, baking soda, butter, an egg, brown sugar, cinnamon, raisins, apple sauce and fast-cooking oats. -To cook almond butter-banana oatmeal, you’ll need oatmeal, milk, almond butter, honey and a banana. Not too long ago, George Bush vetoed his first bill after 5, 1/2 years of serving for our country as president. The bill he vetoed did not allow stem cell research to be funded properly by the government, while the many millions of people like me could be cured from the research. His main reasons for vetoing the bill had to do with cloning, and us being a Christian country. Following this announcement, George Bush recieved a standing ovation. I am 15 years old. I have had Diabetes for 10 years, and this comming March of 2008 will be my 11th. year. Diabetes is more than just a life threatening disease. It's you're life... period. But there is hope. The JDRF (Juvenille Diabetes Research Foundation) holds a Walk-to-Cure-Diabetes every year in Siesta Key Beach, Florida. It's not always easy, but you can always do something about it to control your sugar more and be healthier than you can ever be. there's always something you can do, and it's a good feeling! http://tinyurl.com/bq7rvc Barack Obama supported Stem Cell Research! Thank you, Mr. Obama! You've given hope to millions of people like me. Thank you! Resource: http://tinyurl.com/3d5fjk Note: the following statistics pertain to the United States of America only, unless otherwise stated. Song: Casino Royale Soundtrack: Vesper Q and A about Diabetes: Q: What is Diabetes? A: Your body turns food into energy using insulin. Insulin is made by the pancreas and allows the sugar to be used by your body. Diabetes is a chronic disease where you're pancreas slows down or stops functioning. Without insulin, the sugar stays in your bloodstream. However, with too much insulin, you won't have reserve energy for standing, walking, and sometimes your body can't keep warm with low blood sugar. I have to monitor my blood sugar levels several times a day and take insulin from shots to make sure my blood sugar levels don't go too high or too low. Q: Does Diabetes happen to fat people? A: Not all types of Diabetes happen to obese people. Type 1 (Juvenille Diabetes) is hereditary, so you can't prevent it. It takes over you as a child or teen. Type 2 Diabetes occurs in obese people or old people, whose pancreas's aren't strong enough to meet the demands for insulin. Q: Does it go away? A: No. It is a lifelong disease. It's impossible to avoid completelly without the stem cell procedure. Q: What is life like as a Diabetic? A: Normal. Just a different kind of normal. I take shots and go to the doctors once every couple months, but I'm not stripped of my life. I have a diet and I have to watch what I eat, but I can still eat my favorite foods once in a while. Q: The diet... you have a diet? A: Well, I need to regulate my blood sugar levels. My diet is as followed: don't take too much sugar when you're blood sugar level is high, and drink sugar (it has to be a drink, food takes too long to digest) when your blood sugar level is low. I eat snacks during the day and 3 meals. You can't skip any meals or snacks, or else you'll feel it. Q: You feel your blood sugar levels? A: Yes. When my blood sugar is high, It's harder for me to pay attention or work properly. I feel warm and hyper. Sometimes I'll be agressive. When I'm low, I feel shakey and cold, but usually hungry. I might start sweating and feel very tired. Sometimes I feel dizzy, if it goes down far enough (thank goodness it doesn't!) Q: What's considered "normal" blood-sugar wise? A: The units for blood sugars are measured in mg. of sugar per dL of blood. 80-120 is normal, but it may go between 60-160 depending on how much you eat or exersize. I go between 100-200 for the most part, but I have had numbers as low as 35 and as high as 500. Q: I never knew you were a diabetic! How come you didn't say so before? A: As much as I love to educate people about the disease, I'm not different from anyone else on Youtube: I'm still a human being. I might need more time on tests or medical attention when I'm exersizing vigerously, but it's not like I'm a different person! I live my life differently, that's all. Q: What was that bracelet in the last picture? A: That's my Medic Alert bracelet on my bed. If I pass out from my blood sugars going too low or too high, then the paramedics will be able to see that I'm a diabetic, and they may be able to wake me up with glucagon (think of it as sugar-in-a-bottle) or an insulin shot. Q: What can I do to help? Where can I learn more? A: http://www.jdrf.org

Study: Hormone Linked to High Blood Pressure Increases Diabetes Risk, Too

01:38
(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – About 30 million Americans live with diabetes, and the numbers continue to grow. However, researchers at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center believe that targeting a certain hormone may be key in preventing the disease. Aldosterone is a hormone produced by the adrenal gland that is commonly associated with high blood pressure, but a new study finds that there is also a strong link to Type 2 diabetes. “Aldosterone increases insulin resistance and also impairs insulin secretion from the pancreas, which are the two main causes of Type 2 diabetes,” said Dr. Joshua J. Joseph, assistant professor of endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism and lead author of the study. The researchers followed 1,600 people for 10 years and found that the one-third of participants with the highest levels of the hormone were more than twice as likely to develop diabetes as the third who had the lowest levels. There were also major disparities among different ethnic groups. African-Americans in the top one-third had nearly three times the risk of developing the disease, while the risk for Chinese-Americans was more than 10 fold. “We are now examining why aldosterone affects certain ethnic groups differently. It could be due to genetics or possibly differences in salt sensitivity,” Joseph said. “We will further examine the role of this hormone in diabetes prevention in a new clinical trial.” The trial will use medication to lower aldosterone levels in African-Americans with pre-diabetes. Researchers will monitor how this impacts their glucose and insulin levels. “When combined with healthy lifestyle changes to diet and exercise, I believe that lowering aldosterone levels may help individuals avoid diabetes and the many health issues that come with it,” Joseph said.

Reversing Type 2 diabetes starts with ignoring the guidelines | Sarah Hallberg | TEDxPurdueU

18:12
Can a person be "cured" of Type 2 Diabetes? Dr. Sarah Hallberg provides compelling evidence that it can, and the solution is simpler than you might think. Dr. Sarah Hallberg is the Medical Director of the Medically Supervised Weight Loss Program at IU Health Arnett, a program she created. She is board certified in both obesity medicine and internal medicine and has a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology. She has recently created what is only the second non-surgical weight loss rotation in the country for medical students. Her program has consistently exceeded national benchmarks for weight loss, and has been highly successful in reversing diabetes and other metabolic diseases. Dr. Hallberg is also the co-author of www.fitteru.us, a blog about health and wellness. Top 10 Foods for Diabetes Control

05:38
Diabetes is a group of metabolic diseases in which there are high blood sugar levels over a prolonged period. Symptoms of high blood sugar include frequent urination, increased thirst, and increased hunger. If left untreated, diabetes can cause many serious long-term complications include heart disease, stroke, chronic kidney failure, foot ulcers, and damage to the eyes. What you eat can help you to control and fight your diabetes. Research proves that making a few key changes to your diet such as eating more produce, fewer refined carbohydrates, plenty of lean protein can help in improving your blood-sugar and cuts the risk of diabetes-related complications. Certain foods are packed with nutrients that stabilise blood sugar levels, protect your heart, and even save your vision from the damaging effects of diabetes. These top 10 foods can help you in controlling Diabetes. Spinach The American Diabetes Association calls spinach a diabetes super food and recommends that you regularly include this dark green leafy non-starchy vegetable in your diet. Besides being rich in vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals, spinach possesses a low glycemic index, which means eating it will help support healthy and stable blood glucose levels. Spinach is low in carbohydrates, containing only 0.83 grams per cup. The fact that spinach contains so few carbohydrates makes it an excellent choice on a diabetes diet. Broccoli Broccoli contains a compound called sulforaphane, which triggers several anti-inflammatory processes that improve blood sugar control and protect blood vessels from the cardiovascular damage that’s often a consequence of diabetes. Olive oil Olive oil is recognized as one of the healthiest edible oils since it contains less saturated fats. It is rich in Omega 9 and Omega 3 which help maintain the flexibility of blood vessels, allowing good blood flow. Olive oil, especially extra virgin, contains tyrosol phenolic compounds such as oleuropein and oleocanthal. These compounds are nature’s most powerful anti-oxidants. Sweet potatoes Sweet potatoes are a good carbohydrate choice for diabetics. The glycemic index of sweet potatoes is a lot lower, which is better for diabetes control, according to a 2002 article in the "American Journal of Clinical Nutrition." Eating sweet potatoes in moderate amounts will help you keep your blood sugar levels in the healthy range even if you have diabetes. Avocados Avocados are an excellent choice for people with diabetes because they are very rich in dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals and packed with numerous health benefiting plant nutrients. Blueberries Blueberries contain both insoluble fiber (which “flushes” fat out of your system) and soluble fiber (which slows down the emptying of your stomach, and improves blood sugar control). It also contain a natural plant compound known as anthocyanins. Scientists believe these may help lower blood sugar by boosting insulin production. Tomatoes Tomatoes are an excellent source of vitamin C, vitamin A, and vitamin K. They are also a very good source of, potassium, manganese, dietary fiber, chromium, and vitamin B1. Because of their low carbohydrate content, tomatoes can play a big role in controlling blood sugar levels. The low carbohydrate content also helps lower calorie intake and can help diabetics to lose weight. Eggs Eggs are a versatile food and a great source of protein, and the American Diabetes Association considers eggs an excellent choice for people with diabetes. Cinnamon Cinnamon spice has the highest anti-oxidant strength of all the food sources in nature. Many studies show that consumption of one teaspoon cinnamon to three teaspoons a day has a positive effect on reducing blood glucose levels. It was found that the cinnamon can make your cells more sensitive to insulin. Dates Dates are a great choice for a person with diabetes as they can help control sugar cravings, and they are low on the glycemic index. The carbohydrates in dates provide instant energy, and the high fiber contained in dates is good for digestion. This sweet desert fruit is cholesterol and fat free therefore, they serve as a great snack item. Many essential disease protective minerals are also present in dates.

Prof. Eran Segal presented conclusions from the research on the TEDxRuppin stage and made us question common dietary beliefs. For additional information see http://genie.weizmann.ac.il New research led by Prof. Eran Segals and Dr. Elinavs research unit indicates a drastic change in blood sugar levels between two individuals on identical diets - this may explain why some struggle to lose weight while others, on the same diet, stay lean and fit. The scientists even developed an algorithm that can calculate ones blood level based on his or her biology and lifestyle. How To Control Blood Sugar Levels With a Boiled Egg

02:22
The blood sugar levels in your body rise after every time you eat something, especially if you are a Type 2 diabetic or insulin resistant. It is not easy to learn how to get your blood sugar levels under control. It can take a newly diagnosed patient several months to figure out what they can and cannot eat. While figuring this out, a patient with Type 2 diabetes will likely have some spikes in their sugar levels. Having high blood sugar is important to take seriously, as it can cause some serious health issues. If you have high blood sugar for too long, it can cause you to be more at risk for heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, vision issues and nervous system problems. Luckily, there are many foods that you can consume which will help you to control your blood sugar levels naturally, without medication. One such remedy only contains three ingredients to keep your blood sugar stabilized. You will need: - Apple Cider Vinegar. - Water. - Hard-boiled egg. Hard-boiled eggs are a great snack if you have diabetes because it is so high in protein. The protein in the egg helps you to feel full without causing your blood sugar to rise quickly. Protein slows down your digestive system and your body s absorption of glucose. This is extremely beneficial to people with diabetes. Apple cider vinegar makes your body more sensitive to insulin and helps your body from raising your blood sugar quickly. This is especially true after eating food that is high in starch. There was one study done in particular that showed positive results with Type 2 diabetics when they took apple cider vinegar before eating a meal high in glucose. How to do it: - Boil an egg in the afternoon, and peel it. - Pierce the egg a 2-3 times using a toothpick. - Put the egg in a mason jar and pour just enough vinegar over it so that it is completely covered. - Close the jar and let it soak overnight in your refrigerator. - The next morning, drink a glass of warm water and eat your egg. - Repeat this every day. Soon, you will notice that your blood sugar levels have improved and are more stabilized. If you like the video, give it a thumbs up and share it with your friends! Take Dr. Berg's Body Type Quiz: http://bit.ly/BodyTypeQuiz Dr. Eric Berg talks about Sugar and diabetes. Sugar increases insulin which lowers the sugar in the blood and puts it in storage as fat. A healthy diet should consist of fats and moderate amount of proteins. A diabetic diet should have high quantities of fat. Sugar stimulates hunger and you carve for more food. 40 % of all heart diseases are related to excess sugar. Keeping your blood sugar levels in control is a primary objective for a healthy body. The current recommendations for carbohydrates based on the American Diabetes Associations is 45-60 grams of carbohydrates PER MEAL!!!!! not per day, per meal. http://www.diabetes.org/food-and-fitn... blood sugar problems can be improved if the right foods are eaten, but overall sugars and carbs must be reduced. Fats can be increased. Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, 50 years of age is a chiropractor who specializes in weight loss through nutritional and natural methods. Eating too much sugar can seriously affect your health. What will happen to your heart, brain, and skin, if you quit sugar at least for a week? Eating too much sugar leads to weight gain, sharp mood swings, and even addiction. Lab rats were given cocaine until they became addicted to it. - Sugar is often linked to the development of numerous lung conditions, so lowering sugar intake results in weakening asthma symptoms. - Studies have shown that sugar hinders such activities as learning and memorizing things. - A study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition suggests that giving up sugar may result in your acne disappearing. Sugar is inflammatory, and inflammation is known as a cause of acne. - People who eat too much sugar have a much higher risk of having a heart attack. - High sugar intake raises levels of bad cholesterol and blood fats that can clog your blood vessels, leading to severe heart conditions that can be a huge threat to your life. - Studies found that people, who eat very little sugar or none at all, are rarely diagnosed with depression. - You will be very active throughout the day and ready to sleep when the bedtime comes. Your day/night cycle will be more naturally balanced. - When you eat too much glucose, high insulin resistance develops. It means that sugar can’t get into your cells and can get stuck in the bloodstream. - Pancreatic cancer is often linked to high sugar intake. However, the results of the studies haven’t been entirely consistent; it’s better not to take the risk on this one. - Sugar also affects the health of your eyes. Fluctuations of insulin and glucose levels lead to vessel damage and decrease blood supply to your eyes. - When you eat a lot of sugar, especially fructose, you are very likely to overeat. The pancreas is forced to produce more insulin, so other hormones that regulate metabolism, digestion, and weight are neglected. - Your immune system is seriously affected by consumption of large amounts of sugar. You are protected from bacteria and viruses by white blood cells. - Stop eating sugar and spending money on doctors, dentists, those expensive acne concealers and sweet food and drinks that only harm you. No Pills - Treat Blood pressure Naturally: https://youtu.be/mvO1pnQFvRk Download the iMEDTracker app NOW: And Never Forget to Take your Medication Ever Again! App Store: https://itunes.apple.com/pk/app/imed-tracker/id1076317250 Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.imedtracker.lemotechstudios&hl=en Our goal is to launch a healthcare revolution and better health by promoting Medication Compliance via the FREE iMEDTracker medication list and reminder app and by imparting easy to digest medical information for both patients and healthcare professionals alike! Follow me at: https://www.facebook.com/iMEDTracker/ https://www.facebook.com/UmerKhanMD/ Transcript: So now talking about the new high blood pressure numbers and guidelines. they have changed yes they have changed and what does that mean for you? now this is going to have huge implications for Millions. do you now have high blood pressure that needs to be treated and are you in any danger? the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology have new recommendations for high blood pressure numbers and guidelines. Now have to remember these guidelines based on the latest research and conclusions derived from Decades of information gathered. however you can never say these are the absolute for every individual and you can never say whether there won't be any changes in the future. But this is what I always say you have to follow the latest guidelines as that is the best current understanding of Health Management. now instead of the cut-offs being 140 by 90 now it is 130 by 80. this is a drastic change. this will put almost half of all us adults to be designated to have high blood pressure or to have hypertension. this is going to throw a lot of the younger folks into being declared hypertensive and that would double the number of females less than 45 years old and triple the number of men less than 45 years old into being designated hypertensive. Most of these individuals will need lifestyle and diet remodification and may not medications just yet but hopefully these new recommendations help out in improving the person's long-term quality of life. and just about 2% of adults currently not taking medication will need to be placed on medication. so although the cutoff went down by 10 millimeters of mercury yet the fact on initiation of medication is minimal for now Now needless to say as I mentioned earlier that these numbers can be different for different individuals and different patients with different medical issues in addition to high blood pressure. And your doctor is going to be the best person to decide what is and what should your goals be. I myself I am a fan of not having to take medications. However if you do need to take medication you surely have to do so otherwise you will be causing yourself harm especially in the long run. I have a video which describes how you can treat your high blood pressure naturally and how have the link in the description below. so there is an app called iMed tracker that you can download to keep track of your medication and it helps out with your overall health management as well. so check that out in the description below but anyways it is your doctor's goal to prevent you from taking medication but if you have to you must take when properly. anyways let me know what you guys think in the comments below and how is your blood pressure thank you High Blood Pressure, High Blood Pressure Numbers, High Blood Pressure Medication, High Blood Pressure Diet, High Blood Pressure Chart, High Blood Pressure Range, Blood Pressure, Blood Pressure Ranges, Blood Pressure Guidelines, American Heart Association guidelines, American College of Cardiology guidelines, American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology

A Color Test That Can Tell Your Mental Age

07:37
A lot of the times your brain “feels” way younger or older than you are. That's called mental age. Do you wanna know yours? Lucky for you, Bright Side put together a simple test that will help you figure out if you're a carefree child, an old and wise sage or just exactly as mentally “old” as you are. Just answer our questions, write down your points for every answer, add them all up and get your results! But enough talking, let's begin! If you got 7-12 points, mentally you're just under 20 years old. It doesn't matter what your passport says – you’re a carefree teenager at heart! If you're way older than 20, congratulations – you've managed to carry this constant feeling of enthusiasm and love for life through all these years. Keep shining! If your result is 13–20 points, you are 20–29 years old. You are active, creative, and full of life, but you can already call yourself an adult. Childhood and teenage years are over, but you took the best from them and left all the unnecessary stuff behind. It doesn't mean that you're not having fun though – your life is just as exciting as it was. If all of your points added up to 21–28 points, your mental age is 30–39 years. You’re still active and curious about new things and ideas, but you are already responsible and thoughtful. If you think about it, that's the perfect balance between the children's joy for life and adults' independence. The golden mean at its best! If your total number of points is 29–35, you are 40–49 years old. You're mature and experienced, and you know exactly how to live your life. You have no time for nonsense – you're determined and hardworking. You know what you want and how to get it. Is Rice Healthy?

06:10
For more info: https://draxe.com/brown-rice-nutrition/?utm_campaign=Youtube-Sept-2015&utm_medium=social&utm_source=youtube&utm_term=rice Today I am answering the question, “Is rice healthy?” and explaining the difference between white rice and brown rice. My answer is that it really depends on you. I will show you the pros and cons of rice and go over what I believe is the healthiest rice today. There is a debate today about if you should consume rice or not: ⁃ The paleo diet community says to stay grain-free and therefore that rice is not healthy ⁃ Chinese medicine followers and vegans think rice can be an incredible superfood I believe there is validity to both but it depends on the person and the preparation of the rice. Rice to stay away from: Refined White Rice (This is not jasmine or basmati rice but the sticky white rice from fast food or Chinese restaurants.) Rice Cons: • Fiber, minerals and vitamins have been removed. • Study shows that people are twice as likely to develop diabetes as opposed to those eating whole grain brown rice. • Contains phytic acid (enzyme inhibitor) which keeps you from absorbing and digesting vitamins and minerals. • Contains proteins that are difficult to digest Rice Pros: • Whole grain brown rice is high in B3 which is good for heart health. • Whole grain brown rice is high in selenium which supports the thyroid and kidneys. • Certain types of rice contain GABA, a neurotransmitter that can support the brain and help reduce anxiety as well as support metabolism. So ... is rice healthy? Is brown rice healthy? It depends on how it is prepared. I believe if rice is soaked and sprouted, it unlocks the vitamins and minerals versus most rices that aren’t sprouted. I personally consume an organic rice from the company, True Roots. It is a germinated brown rice (soaked and sprouted) which kills off phytic acid and is easier to digest. In Chinese medicine, look up “qi” or “chi.” They believe that short grain brown rice increase your body’s “qi” which is your body’s life source and energy. It is considered to be one of the #1 healing foods. I suggest my patients make a “congee” with chicken bone broth, brown rice and vegetables such as carrots and celery. This chicken vegetable rice soup is healing and nourishing to the body. In conclusion, is rice healthy? Yes, it can be if you are doing sprouted rice that is traditionally prepared. Simply put, stay away from white refined rice that is void of vitamins and minerals and can cause a spike in your blood sugar and insulin levels. *This content is strictly the opinion of Dr. Josh Axe, and is for informational and educational purposes only. What Causes a Fatty Liver: 4 Ways to Fix

Subscribe for 3x 4 Videos Per Week here: http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com Click here to subscribe to my YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/thetdelauer?sub_confirmation=1 Fatty Liver Disease Causes: 4 Ways to Fix It- Thomas DeLauer… What is Fatty Liver Disease? Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a term used for a wide range of liver conditions that can affect people who drink very little to no alcohol. Fatty liver can also occur from excess alcohol consumption, but here we will concentrate on NAFLD. NAFLD occurs when an excess buildup of fat in the liver occurs, known as steatosis. Once fat exceeds 5-10% of the liver’s weight, the liver is considered to be a fatty liver. This occurs when the rate of de novo fatty acid synthesis and hepatic fatty acid uptake from plasma is greater than the rate of fatty acid oxidation and export - ie, too much fat is being created and not enough is being metabolized. Liver inflammation is characteristic is nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, one of the more advanced forms of the disease, that can eventually lead to scarring. This damage to the liver is similar to that caused by heavy alcohol use and can progress to liver cancer and cirrhosis (3). Causes: The exact cause isn’t known, however NAFLD is most common among those in their 40s and 50s who have metabolic syndrome, a cluster of risk factors that raise your chances of a wide range of diseases, including cardiovascular disease and type-2 diabetes. (1) Metabolic syndrome includes the following risk factors (2): Midsection fat accumulation High triglyceride level Low HDL cholesterol level High blood pressure High fasting blood sugar levels The majority of these risk factors are tied to obesity, so helping to lose weight and maintain a healthy weight is crucial. What Can You do to Combat Fatty Liver Disease? Currently there are no definitive treatments for fatty liver disease, so treatment is focused on lifestyle changes (3). 1. Cut out drinking 2. Cut out the fruit! Fructose is absorbed via portal vein and delivered to the liver in much higher concentrations as compared to other tissues. Fructose increases protein levels of all DNL enzymes during its conversion into triglycerides. Additionally, fructose supports lipogenesis in the setting of insulin resistance as fructose does not require insulin for its metabolism, and it directly stimulates SREBP1c, a major transcriptional regulator of DNL De-Novo lipogenesis 3. Boost Glutathione Levels- Glutathione is needed in order to recover from a fatty liver. Eat things like eggs, cabbage, broccoli and garlic as they have a higher sulfur content which can help convert into Acetyl Cysteine and create more glutathione in the body. 4. Turmeric- Turmeric is a spice whose use as medicine date back thousands of years in Ayurvedic medicine. Curcuminoids are the compounds in turmeric that give the distinct yellow color and are largely credited with the impressive therapeutic benefits of turmeric. Turmeric is both a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant spice, and it is likely these aspects of turmeric that make it especially helpful for those with NAFLD. Study (7) A randomized double-blind placebo controlled trial took patients suffering from NAFLD and broke them into two groups. One group took 70-mg curcumin once daily for 8 weeks while the other group did the same with a placebo. Multiple measures were taken at baseline and then following the 8 weeks of treatment. It was found that those in the curcumin group experienced a significant reduction in liver fat content when compared to the placebo group - on average the curcumin participants experienced a 78.9% improvement in liver fat content! Additional significant reductions occurred in body mass index, serum total cholesterol levels, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood glucose when compared to the placebo group. References: 1. 5 Ways to Improve Your Eyesight Without Glasses

08:36
How to improve your vision at home? How to say goodbye to your glasses without expensive surgery? Here’s a list of 5 effective home remedies that will help you improve your vision naturally and boost your eyes. These remedies you most likely have at home have proven their effectiveness over centuries. TIMESTAMPS Aloe vera 0:56 Ginkgo biloba 4:18 Green tea 5:29 Bilberry 6:41 Almonds 7:21 Music: Someways - Nicolai Heidlas is licensed under a Creative Commons license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/) SUMMARY -Aloe vera is a great source of important vitamins and antioxidants that help with white blood cell production and tissue recovery. Aloe vera is effective enough even when used alone, but we’ll spice it up with following ingredients: 1 lb of ground walnuts, 300 ml of pure honey and freshly squeezed juice from 4 lemons. -Ginkgo biloba can help relieve anxiety and boost your memory and thinking process, which is especially good for people with dementia and Alzheimer’s. As for our vision, it’s great at increasing blood flow to the eyes. -Green tea is rich in antioxidants called flavonoids, which fight off free radicals that can cause a number of eye diseases, like glaucoma, macular degeneration and cataracts. -Bilberries improve nighttime vision, and help regenerate important parts of the retina, which can be damaged because of high blood pressure and diabetes. -Raw almonds are a natural source of omega-3 fatty acid, vitamin E and antioxidants, all of which are great at improving vision. What you have to do is soak 5 to 10 nuts overnight. When you wake up in the morning, peel and grind them. Normal Blood Glucose Levels - What Should YOURS Be?

03:28
Normal Blood Glucose Levels - Learn more at http://healthyclip.com If you enjoyed the content of this video, please subscribe, like, share and comment:) Normal Blood Glucose Levels - Alright so our next topic is blood sugar and this is a really popular one with all the clients I talk to because I feel like with I started in my practice 10 years ago, when I talk to people about their blood sugar, they may or may not have known what it was and kind of like, oh my friend over their has diabetes. And now I feel like everybody knows somebody who is diabetic, you know its all over the place. 0:28 So blood sugars is something that is really really concerning in most diets regardless where you live, how old you are, blood sugars a big issue. Know we do think of blood sugar when it comes to diabetes and basically what happens is when you eat carbohydrates or sugar of any sort, that goes to your digestive system pretty quickly. 0:49 The moment it hits your blood stream, it acts like no other nutrient does. Proteins and fats, they kind of take their time getting into your blood stream but carbohydrates hit it immediately giving you that immediate rise in blood sugar. 1:05 Then what happens is you get this signal sent to your pancreas and your pancreas releases insulin. So insulin is a hormone. So its released, it takes all that blood sugar and swooshes it into your cells where your cells then use that blood sugar to do the things they need to do... help give you energy, help you focus when you're at work, all those things that we can think of that carbohydrates actually do that are good for us. 1:30 However the problem is again we get too much. We have diets that are way too high in sugar, way too high in refined carbs. Therefore, our pancreas just kind of gets tired and its not able to produce as much insulin as it needs. Its not able to keep up and so what happens is that blood sugar is then stored as fat in the body and eventually your panaceas just start not working as well as it should. 2:00 Thats when people start to go on insulin, thats when you get the diagnosis of diabetes. So its really important to know what your blood sugar levels are, Kind of where you're at and I know that there is a lot of people out there who start to feel like I can do this, I can live with diabetes and you can, but the goal would be to not go on medication for diabetes, that you can actually control it with your diet and exercise, which you're going to really get tired of hearing me say, that you can deal with it through diet and exercise, but its true. Normal Blood Glucose Levels 2:35 And of course there is the genetic factor and I'm going to talk about that next, but when you look at it, you really want to try to live a lifestyle thats going to allow you to not put all your money into maintaining your healthy with medication. Instead taking that money and putting in a place thats going to help you be healthier, its going to allow you to exercise or access to exercise, access to healthy food, supplements that you need all those things. Instead of putting all your money at the pharmacy. Normal Blood Glucose Levels 3:09 So again, blood sugar a very important thing. Know your numbers when it comes to that and know that you can control it with diet and exercise. See more videos from Stephanie at http://healthyclip.com Normal Blood Glucose Levels

How To Eat A Diet Personalized For You

02:44
There's lots of conflicting ideas about what a healthy diet for people with diabetes is. And the truth is that there's no single diabetes diet... the numbers are where we start to figure out what the right eating approach is. Looking at your A1c, your blood pressure and your cholesterol can help you figure out where you need to focus with your diet... learn how in our short video. Transcript: Hi, I’m Ansley from Diabetes- What To Know and today we’re going to talk about how people with diabetes can eat a healthy diet that’s personalized for them. The truth is that there is no single diabetes diet-- the right eating approach for you depends on what’s happening in your body. The good news is that your numbers can tell you just that. The three diabetes numbers that are most affected by food are: 1) Your LDL cholesterol (which should be under 100) 2) Your Blood Pressure (which should be below 130 / 80) 3) Your A1c (which in most cases should be below 7%) So let’s talk about each one. If your LDL cholesterol number isn’t in a safe place, you need to look at the fat in your diet. Now there are two types of fats: saturated fats, and unsaturated fats. The one to watch is saturated fats which can increase your LDL cholesterol-- the most worrisome saturated fats are those found in red meats, especially processed meats. Unsaturated fats, on the other hand, are good fats that can lower your LDL cholesterol and increase your healthy HDL cholesterol and by doing that, you can decrease your chance of heart disease. Good fats are found in certain types of fish, avocados, nuts, canola oil and olive oil. Substituting foods that are high in saturated fat with foods that are high in healthy fats can really improve your heart health. Don’t forget though, fats are the most concentrated form of calories. Love the olive oil, but watch your total calories. If your blood pressure number is over your target, you’ll want to focus on eating more fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds and beans. Decreasing the amount of salt in your diet can also help to lower your blood pressure. Salt is also referred to as sodium, and it’s one of the nutrients listed on food labels. A general suggestion for people with high blood pressure is to decrease your sodium intake to less than 3,000 mg a day. As you’re trying to do that though, it’s important to know that most of the sodium in our diets doesn’t come from a salt shaker, but from processed and restaurant foods. If it’s your A1c number that’s not in a safe place, paying attention to the number of carbs you eat is where you want to focus. A general guideline is 45 grams of carbs / meal for women, 60 grams of carbs /meal for men. Talk to your doctor about what “carb budget” makes sense for you. And that’s how to look at your numbers to figure out what to eat. If your LDL cholesterol number is out of range, you want to look at how much and what type of fat you’re eating, if your blood pressure number is high, you want to keep an eye on sodium, and if it’s your A1c that isn’t in target, you want to make sure you’re following your carb budget. What Happens to Your Body When You Start Eating Honey Every Day

09:06
Honey is the only product which contains all the necessary ingredients to keep you alive and healthy: vitamins, enzymes, minerals, and water. Today, we are exploring all of its benefits and healthy properties. Honey is sweet, made by bees, and Winnie-the-Pooh loves it. But do you also know that honey has existed for millions of years? That honey will never spoil if kept in an airtight container? We at Bright Side have been looking for quite some time for such a product, and it turned out to be natural honey. And we're definitely going to eat a spoonful of it every day from now on! TIMESTAMPS Clearer skin 0:51 Loss of excess weight 2:37 Lowered cholesterol level 3:44 Stronger heart 4:27 Better memory 5:08 Sounder sleep 6:03 Healthier stomach 6:28 Relieved nervous tension 7:14 Honey and garlic combo 7:44 SUMMARY Honey and garlic combo When combined with another natural remedy with strong antiseptic and healing properties — garlic — the power of honey will increase tenfold. Garlic-infused honey will boost your immune system and keep you in good health. You're going to need the following ingredients: • 3-4 heads of garlic • 1 cup raw honey • a small jar with a lid Separate the garlic heads into cloves, and remove their outer layers. Put them into the jar, and then pour honey over them. Remove bubbles if necessary. Cover the jar with a lid, and put it away to infuse for a few days. Take one spoonful a day on an empty stomach, and you will feel energized and healthy like never before. Hopefully, you are already running to your kitchen or the nearest store to start your honey-based treatment. But remember just one thing: like overindulging in anything else, eating too much honey can cause some serious problems. Maybe you have noticed that in all the recipes all you need is one or maximum two spoonfuls of honey. No wonder. If you eat more, it can dramatically increase your sugar level, cause allergy, or lead to putting on excess weight. Therefore, eat it moderately! Science Explains How Much Sleep You Need Depending on Your Age

09:21
How to Get Enough Sleep for Your Age. People usually think that 7–8 hours of sleep is enough, but that's not always the case. In fact, the number of hours you need to enjoy proper sleep depends and stay healthy depends on your age. Follow some simple rules to restore energy and get the most out of your recharge time. What happens when you experience a lack of sleep 1:09 If you constantly feel sleepy, are easily irritated, feel exhausted during the day, or often yawn, you most likely suffer from sleep deprivation. Not getting enough sleep also increases the risk of developing the following problems and diseases: exhaustion, depression, changes in hormone function, cardiovascular diseases, visual impairment, and diabetes. How much sleep is needed for your age 3:44 Scientists have established the connection between age and the required number of hours a person needs to have a good night’s sleep. Newborns 0–3 months old need about 14–17 hours of sleep daily. If you're the parent of a 1- or 2-year-old toddler, make sure they sleep for no less than 11–14 hours every day. Kids from 6 to 13 years old still need more sleep than adults: 9–11 hours. Young adults of 18–25 years old need less sleep: just 7–9 hours every day. The same can be said about adults between 26 and 64 years of age: 7–9 hours are enough for them to rest. Elderly people older than 65 sleep even less: 7–8 hours a day. Each person has individual needs, which may change these numbers. People who are sick, stressed, or, on the contrary, extremely active need more sleep to recharge. How to get enough sleep and feel refreshed every day 5:36 Fall asleep and wake up at the same time every day. A fixed schedule will regulate your body clock. Don't overeat, have tonic drinks before bed, and avoid cigarettes and alcohol. Create a cozy and comfortable atmosphere in your bedroom. The temperature in the room shouldn't be higher than 75ºF. A short walk in the fresh air before going to bed will help you fall asleep more quickly. Try not to use gadgets before going to bed, and turn off electrical appliances at night. Even if you aren't tired, you still need to go to bed at the same time every day. If you're lucky, you'll fall asleep after a short while. Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS Lack of sleep 1:09 Age and sleep 3:44 Sleep improvement 5:36 SUMMARY -Being sleep deprived negatively affects the quality of future bouts of sleep. Not getting enough sleep weakens your immune system and can have serious consequences. Your emotional state can also be affected by a lack of sleep. -Scientists have established the connection between age and the required number of hours a person needs to have a good night’s sleep. The older a person is, the smaller amount of sleep recovery they need. -Fall asleep and wake up at the same time every day. Don't overeat or have tonics at night. Type-1 or Type-2 - Diabetes hits record high in UK.

04:08
The number of people with diabetes in the UK has hit a record high. According to the latest figures, 3.9 million now have either the Type 1 or Type 2 condition. Treating them costs the NHS nearly £10 billion a year - that's 10 percent of its budget. And 8 billion of that is spent managing complications - that could be avoided if patients were better educated about the condition.

Ketosis can occur during fasting, when you reduce the amount of carbs or calories in your diet, during pregnancy or after exercising for a long period of time. Many diets use ketosis as the means of burning fat while maintaining muscle - examples include the Atkins diet and other low-carb diets. This strategy can also lead to decreased hunger. How long does it take to kick your body into fat burning, ketosis mode? Roughly 3-4 days of consuming less than 50 carbs per day, the equivalent of 2 bananas. Benefits include weight loss, seizure prevention, cardiovascular health and type-2 diabetes help, to name a few. How does it Work? When glucose is in short supply, your liver will break down fats into ketones, which are then used throughout your body for energy. Muscles and other tissues in your body use ketones rather than glucose for energy metabolism. In a healthy person, the production of ketones for energy is the body’s natural response to starvation, so this happens when dieting, overnight and during fasting. Glucose or Ketones: Which is More Effective? Many brain diseases, such as epilepsy, are already being treated by the ketogenic diet. The mechanisms to why it helps the brain are still being studied, but there are some possible reasons that ketones seem to be a good energy source for the brain. One major Ketone, beta-hydroxybutyrate, or BHB, provides more energy per unit of oxygen than glucose, and thus may be even more efficient than glucose at providing energy to the brain. (3) -The ketogenic diet has also been found to increase the number of mitochondria in brain cells. In a 2004 study on rats, one group was fed a ketogenic diet while the other was fed a normal diet. A positive impact was found on the gene expression for mitochondrial enzymes in the hippocampus, the memory and learning center of the brain. (4) Ketosis and Body Water Composition: High fat and low carb diets are known to lead to fast weight loss. The fast weight loss is due to water weight being shed (5) -When you decrease carbs, you decrease water storage in the body. Who Can Benefit From Ketosis? If you are looking to shed some body fat, ketosis may be a good tool. This can go along with an exercise regimen as you maintain muscle while losing fat. Ketosis can also benefit those who need to boost brain power as energy may be utilized more effectively in the brain. *Be careful because those with diabetes can get too high of a level of ketones in their blood, which is very dangerous. This occurs due to the low levels of insulin in the blood, which will signal the body to produce excess ketones that will build up in the blood, making the blood pH too low. References: 1.
