💓 What’s Worse - Low or High Blood Pressure?

How I Lowered My Dad’s Blood Pressure In Just A Few days - NO Drugs or Diets. 👉👉 http://drsam.co/yt/Improve-BP 3 Pressure Points That’ll Instantly Lower Your Blood Pressure Naturally: 👉 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYdPjTGeVI4 #bloodpressure ==================================== 💓 What’s Worse - Low or High Blood Pressure? ==================================== The other day I was asked an in important and interesting question: “Dr. Sam - I have borderline high blood pressure and my wife typically has low blood pressure, what’s worst for your health?” So, the fast answer is that in the “short run”, it’s low blood pressure. In the long run, it’s high blood pressure. But, let me quickly explain... What Do The Numbers Mean To understand blood pressure reading, it is important to understand what blood pressure is. As you already know, the heart pumps blood through the chambers of the heart, then it goes to the vessels to transport the blood throughout the body with the circulatory system. Your blood pressure measures the pumping action of the heart. The top number reading is known as the systolic blood pressure, it is the force exerted on the walls of the arteries when the heart contracts to pump oxygenated blood. The bottom reading is the diastolic blood pressure. It is the pressure reading when the heart is resting in between beats. Category Systolic BP (top) Diastolic BP (bottom) Severe Hypotension (low) 50 – 59 mmHg 33 – 39 mmHg Serious Hypotension (low) 60 – 89 mmHg 40 – 49 mmHg Borderline Hypotension (low) 90 – 109 mmHg 50 – 69 mmHg Normal Blood Pressure 110 – 119 mmHg 60 – 79 mmHg Prehypertension (high) 120 – 139 mmHg 80 – 89 mmHg Stage 1 Hypertension (high) 140 – 159 mmHg 90 – 99 mmHg Stage 2 Hypertension (high) 160 – 180 mmHg 100 – 110 mmHg Hypertensive Crisis (high) Higher than 180 mmHg Higher than 110 mmHg Signs and Symptoms of Hypotension and Hypertension Hypotension Hypertension Dizziness Lightheadedness Syncope Blurring of vision Inability to concentrate Nausea Cold, clammy skin Pallor Thirst Body weakness Rapid and shallow breathing Tachycardia Dizziness Severe Headache Nose bleeding Irregular heartbeat Chest pain Blurring of vision Fatigue or body weakness Confusion Difficulty of breathing Hematuria Nausea and vomiting Normal, Low & High Ideally, you want your blood pressure to fall within the normal range, most of the day. However, those who suffer from stress, anxiety, high cholesterol, obesity and the like, they have increased risk of having a high blood pressure and in severe cases it can lead to heart attack or stroke. On the other end, some people suffer from low blood pressure due to certain diseases or conditions, this can lead to shock or even worse – death. Low Blood Pressure (Hypotension) Low blood pressure is alarming because it can be very life threatening if prompt medical attention is not rendered. The causes range from dehydration, blood loss and some surgical disorders. It is manageable as long as the origin of the condition is determined and properly treated. BOTTOM LINE: In the short run, low BP is worse because you can go into shock and die. Or simply pass out and if it’s while driving or something similar, could result in death or bad accident. However, this is more extreme and rare. High Blood Pressure (Hypertension) Blood pressure constantly changes throughout the day depending on the level of activity, physical and emotional status. If your blood pressure is elevated and stays elevated throughout the day and continues for a few days or weeks, then it’s something to be concerned about. Something interesting to note is that the older you get, the higher the blood pressure typically becomes and this is due to a variety of lifestyle reasons (poor diet, lack of exercise, being overweight, etc.). However, the primary cause/reason for higher blood pressure as you age, is due to the negative changes in your hormones. But don’t worry, there’s hope. I discuss this in further detail at my website because I have a family history of hypertension. You can get the details by clicking the link below, in the description area at the end of this video. So don’t go there just yet... BOTTOM LINE: High blood pressure is a problem when it’s consistent and ongoing because of the pressure it puts on your organs (heart, brain, kidneys, etc.) and the end result could be a heart attack or stroke. Thus, in the long-run, high blood pressure is worse. ======================================== Thank you for watching. Please feel free to comment, like or share with your friends. From Hypertension webinar 7-22-15taken from JCN 8I've seen a man drinking a case of beer daily having a really serious hypertension return to normotension 2 weeks after stopping his alcohol abuse. Although if one discovers an underlying condition causing hypertension, which is in 5%, so in a minority of people having hypertension, treating this can cure hypertension, in most we just don't know the cause to have to treat the elevated blood pressure to prevent serious complications like stroke, heart failure, kidney failure, heart attacks etc. More: https://youtu.be/PHY4yj_eVHI Subscribe to our channel!

blood sugar chart

00:59
http://www.diabetescausestreatments.com/blood-sugar-chart.html Monitoring your glucose ranges is very important and must be done on a regular basis (especially if you are a diabetic). One of the best ways to monitor your glucose is to use a diabetes blood sugar level chart. Glucose is the main fuel that your body uses to produce energy. Without it your body won't function properly (just like an automobile). The chart that I'm about to show you will be very helpful to you as it will help you monitor when problems occur and if there are any patterns of your readings. The patterns will become very clear to you (as you learn how your own body works) and you will be able to discuss them more clearly and effectively with your health professional. It is crucial that you know kind of events, food, activities, and medications may cause your blood sugar to increase or decrease. You should work closely with your health care provider to ensure that you are meeting your goals. He will provide a meter tool for you to help you keep track of your levels. You should familiarize yourself on how to use the meter. Diabetes Blood Sugar Chart - Normal Blood Glucose Ranges Upon waking up (and before breakfast), your levels should be between 80 and 120. This is considered to be a healthy range. Before meals your levels should also be between 80 and 120. Two hours after you eat meals, your levels should be 170 or less. Before lunch, it should drop back down to 80-120. Before you go to bed, it is ideal to be between 100 and 140. At 3am (while sleeping), it is ideal to be between 70 and 110. While fasting, it is ideal that you stay in the 70 to 100 range. The numbers from this chart will help give you a good idea of normal blood glucose ranges; however, you may want to ask your health care provider where exactly your range should be at (during each of the above events). It is important to receive frequent testing as this can reduce the risk of having complications from your diabetes. I hope this diabetes blood sugar chart was beneficial to you and taught you a little bit about how to monitor your ranges. 8 Warning Signs Of High Blood Sugar

04:05
If you are frequently feeling hungry or you have been putting on weight constantly despite several efforts you have been taking to cut down on your calories, then you need to watch out. These might be a few among the warning signs of high blood sugar. It isn't just the diabetics who should be worried about the spike in blood sugar level but every other person should be watchful about the food that they eat,as this is one of the major reasons that gives rise to the blood sugar. Other contributory factors might include lack of proper food, lack of exercise, lack of sleep and stress. Since the symptoms of high blood sugar are not so prominent initially, one should be very careful about any changes in the health condition that they experience. It is very important to identify the problem at the nascent stage and get the blood sugar level under control. If not taken care of on time and when the blood sugar level remains high for a longer period of time, it might lead to diabetes. Here is a list of few warning signs of high blood sugar. Take a look. 1. Excess Thirst: When the sugar level in blood is high, the kidneys work more to filter the extra sugar. The sugar then gets removed in the form of urine, along with other fluids from the body. This makes one feel dehydrated and thirsty. 2. Constant Hunger: As the urination level increases, you tend to lose calories. Also due to high sugar level in blood, it prevents the sugar from the food to reach the cells;, this thus causes constant hunger. 3. Frequent Urination: When the excess sugar level gets removed from the body in the form of urine, this makes one feel dehydrated and thirsty. To quench the thirst one tends to drink more fluids; this will lead one to urinate more. 4. Weight loss: When the frequency of urination level increases, you tend to lose calories at the same time. Thus it leads to loss in weight. 5. Numbness: When there is excess sugar level in the blood, it damages the nerves. This causes numbness and you tend to lose the sensation in the hands and feet. 6. Blurred Vision: Frequent urination which is caused by high blood sugar level in the body, will also lead to dryness of the eyes and this causes blurring of the vision. 7. Fatigue: When the blood sugar level is high, the glucose in the body is not utilized properly; the cells fail to get the needed energy. This causes frequent fatigue. 8. Itching & Skin Infection: Dry and itchy skin is common when the blood sugar level is high in the body. Due to frequent urination, it causes dehydration and the skin tissues also become dry causing itching of skin and infection. Video URL : https://youtu.be/4m13_-lYa4Q

Pre Diabetes Symptoms - Borderline diabetes What You Need to Know

05:14
Our Video Topic: Pre Diabetes Symptoms - Borderline diabetes What You Need to Know. In pre-diabetes, blood sugar levels are slightly higher than normal, but still not as high as in diabetes. If diabetes is "runaway blood sugar" think of pre-diabetes as blood sugar that is "halfway out the door." People almost always develop pre-diabetes before they get type 2 diabetes. The rise in blood sugar levels that is seen in pre-diabetes starts when the body begins to develop a problem called "insulin resistance." Insulin is an important hormone that helps you to process glucose (blood sugar). If usual amounts of insulin can't trigger the body to move glucose out of the bloodstream and into your cells, then you have insulin resistance. Once insulin resistance begins, it can worsen over time. When you have pre-diabetes, you make extra insulin to keep your sugar levels near to normal. Insulin resistance can worsen as you age, and it worsens with weight gain. If your insulin resistance progresses, eventually you can't compensate well enough by making extra insulin. When this occurs, your sugar levels will increase, and you will have diabetes. Pre Diabetes Symptoms Pre-diabetes is often called a "silent" condition because it usually has no symptoms. You can have pre-diabetes for several years without knowing it. Certain risk factors increase the chance that you have pre-diabetes. These risk factors include: Being overweight Being 45 years or older A family history of diabetes Low levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol (the "good" cholesterol) High triglycerides High blood pressure A history of gestational diabetes Being African-American, American Indian, Asian-American, Pacific Islander or Hispanic American/Latino If you have one or more of these risk factors, your doctor may recommend a blood sugar test. An abnormal result is likely to be the first sign that you have pre-diabetes. Diagnosis of Pre Diabetes The same blood sugar tests that are used for diabetes are used to diagnose pre-diabetes. For diagnosing pre-diabetes, your doctor can order one of the following: A fasting blood glucose test An oral glucose tolerance test A hemoglobin A1C (HbA1C) blood test In a fasting glucose test, blood sugar levels are measured after at least eight hours of not eating. Most people prefer to have the test done the morning after fasting overnight. In the oral glucose tolerance test, blood sugar levels are first measured after an overnight fast. You then drink a sugary solution, and two hours later another blood sample is drawn. This second test is known as a "glucose challenge." In healthy people, the glucose challenge will cause blood sugar levels to rise slightly and fall quickly. In someone with pre-diabetes or diabetes, these levels rise very high or fall slowly, so they will be abnormally high during the two-hour blood test. A hemoglobin A1C blood test can be done at any time during the day. It does not require fasting. The result reflects an average of your blood sugar over the preceding 3 months. Here is how to interpret the results of these tests (mg/dL = milligrams per deciliter): Fasting glucose test Normal – Below 100 mg/dL Pre-diabetes – Between 100 and 125 mg/dL Diabetes – 126 mg/dL or higher Oral glucose tolerance test Normal – Below 140 mg/dL Pre-diabetes – Between 140 mg/dL and 199 mg/dL Diabetes – 200 mg/dL or higher Hemoglobin A1C test Normal – 5.6% or below Pre-diabetes – Between 5.7% and 6.4% Diabetes – 6.5% or higher Having pre-diabetes does not automatically mean you will get diabetes, but it does put you at an increased risk. Pre-diabetes is also a risk factor for heart disease. Like people with type 2 diabetes, those with pre-diabetes tend to be overweight, have high blood pressure and have unhealthy cholesterol levels. The most common cause of anemia is not having enough iron. Your body needs iron to make hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is an iron-rich protein that gives the red color to blood. It carries oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body. Anemia has three main causes: blood loss, lack of red blood cell production, and high rates of red blood cell destruction. Conditions that may lead to anemia include • Heavy periods • Pregnancy • Ulcers • Colon polyps or colon cancer • Inherited disorders • A diet that does not have enough iron, folic acid or vitamin B12 • Blood disorders such as sickle cell anemia and thalassemia, or cancer • Aplastic anemia, a condition that can be inherited or acquired • G6PD deficiency, a metabolic disorder Anemia can make you feel tired, cold, dizzy, and irritable. You may be short of breath or have a headache. Your doctor will diagnose anemia with a physical exam and blood tests. Treatment depends on the kind of anemia you have. The 2 Stinkiest, Yet Most Powerful Ways to Lower Blood Pressure Naturally

https://yurielkaim.com/lower-blood-pressure-naturally-2-tips/ Adding these two things to your diet can help lower your blood pressure naturally. More: https://yurielkaim.com/lower-blood-pressure-naturally-2-tips/ These two simple (and stinky) foods can help lower your blood pressure, and both of them have a long history helping to prevent disease. The first is fish oil. Unless you’re on blood thinners, there’s no reason you shouldn’t add this super-healthy oil to your diet. Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, fish oil has powerful protective qualities when it comes to cardiovascular health. If you eat a vegan diet, you can try flaxseed oil or hempseed oil instead. And other food is garlic, which also has incredible antibacterial and anti fungal benefits. But when it comes to garlic’s relationship with blood pressure, a 2008 article in the journal BMC Cardiovascular Disorders, reviewed 25 different scientific studies on whether or not garlic made a difference. The results were conclusively yes: Consumption of garlic every day, or at least several times a week, reduces blood pressure. Looking for more ways to take charge of your health, naturally? I am 25 weeks pregnant with high blood pressure. How can I lower it?

03:00
Preeclampsia is a condition of pregnancy caused by something that occurs during pregnancy that causes a woman's blood pressure to go up. For most people a normal blood pressure is about 120 over 80. If your blood pressure starts to slowly creep up and it's 140 over 90 or greater, then the doctor is probably going to start monitoring you. You can expect them to draw your blood and test your urine and watch your baby and also ask you a lot about certain symptoms you might be feeling like headaches, dizziness, blurry vision, and a sudden increase in swelling. If you're at home and ever have this persistent headache that you just can't kick it's always a good idea to go get your blood pressure checked. In your specific case you mentioned that your blood pressure was 144 over 72, the doctor tested your urine and it sounds like there's not any protein there. You want to know what you can do to lower your blood pressure. There really is nothing you can do to reverse the process once it's started but you can do something to try to slow it down. If the doctor has told you to be on bed rest or modified best rest then follow their advice because when we are at rest our blood pressure is lower. Your blood pressure at rest may slowly start to creep up because if your body is developing preeclampsia this will naturally happen. Because the cause is pregnancy the cure is delivery. It never starts to reverse itself until you've actually delivered the baby. This becomes very complicated if you're preterm. You did mention that you're 25 weeks and obviously we don't want to deliver you at this point unless it's necessary. You're the best incubator for your baby and there are no other incubators out there that are better. But sometimes if you develop preeclampsia then it becomes necessary to deliver the baby for their wellbeing and for yours. Ultimately complications of this can be as severe as a stroke and seizures for you. These things can also compromise the baby and there can be compromised blood flow to the baby because the high blood pressure also affects your blood's ability to flow through the placenta. They'll watch you very closely. They'll monitor your blood, your urine, your baby, combine all of these pieces of the puzzle together and it might come to the point where you have to deliver early for the wellbeing of you and your baby. Hopefully that's not the case. Hopefully you can carry your baby to full term. If you're developing it this early then I would keep in close contact with your doctor and make sure if you start to have suspicious symptoms that you get your blood pressure checked right away. Again, the only thing you can do is be at rest most of the time. Do this under the direction of your doctor and ask your doctor if they feel like it's necessary in your case. If you have any other questions for me feel free to ask them on our Facebook page and recommend us to your friends and family too.

High Blood Pressure: Definition and Treatment

02:03
High blood pressure is a consistent reading of 140/90 or higher. Bethany Panchal, MD, a Family Medicine physician with Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center, defines “consistent” as two or more readings taken days apart. When high blood pressure is considered borderline—or near that 140/90 range—changes in diet and exercise may be sufficient to lower readings. This can include a DASH or low salt diet. When readings are higher, at 150-160 range or above, medication may be added to lifestyle changes. Proper treatment is important, as high blood pressure increases the risk of heart attack, stroke and even blindness. Is It Safe To Do The Keto Diet While Having High Blood Pressure?

Is It Safe To Do The Keto Diet While Having High Blood Pressure? There is one organ which causes high blood pressure (and it's not what you think!) and there are specific exercises you can use to target and fix your blood pressure easily. No diet, lifestyle changes or medication required: http://hibloodpressure.stream/ Answers from: Kim Powell Miranda Brown Scott West Miranda Brown Nathanael Schulte Miranda Brown Yes, its perfectly safe to do the keto diet with high blood pressure. In fact, a ketogenic diet usually lowers blood pressure. Mine went down a good 20 points (American measurement) and has stayed well within the normal range, although it was only borderline previously. The ketogenic diet lowers your insulin levels. Insulin instructs your kidneys to retain water, which raises blood pressure. Bringing those levels down results in letting that water go, which lowers blood pressure. If you take medication for your blood pressure, you may need to monitor it carefully; you dont want to accidentally go too low by combining medication and diet, but you should also not adjust your meds without medical supervision. The key herbs include Cinnamon, Gymnema Sylvestre, Banaba, Bitter Melon, and Guggul. Also added are effective amounts of Chromium Picolinate, Vitamin C and Vitamin E. The recommended dose is one capsule three times daily with meals. While eating a sugary snack, fruit, and carbohydrates, it breaks down into glucose (blood sugar) that is important for energy in your cells. In order to get into that glucose into your cells, your body produces insulin that acts like the key unlocking the door. Excess glucose can lead to diabetes but excess insulin or insulin resistance is a problem too. Unfortunately, most people’s blood sugar is not properly balanced. If you’re getting too much glucose, it leads to high blood-sugar levels, which your body can’t break down and stores as fat. Ironically, not getting enough sugar can also lead to putting on extra pounds! Eating too little glucose can lead to a low blood sugar level, causing your body to go into “starvation mode” where it burns your lean muscle instead of the fat – a double whammy to your system and your diet. Maintaining healthy blood sugar levels in the normal range is not only critical for energy and mood, but also for cardiovascular, nervous system, and immune health . Since the typical diet is high in refined carbohydrates and sugars, it’s no wonder that such a high proportion of our population has blood sugar concerns. Hectic lifestyles, chronic stress , and genetic predispositions can also easily upset the delicate balance of physiological events that influence glucose and insulin levels. It is very important that blood sugar levels are kept as close to normal as possible. For most people with diabetes, a healthy range is between 90 and 130 mg/dl before meals and less than 180 mg/dl at one to two hours after a meal (see chart below). A doctor or health care provider can tell a person with diabetes about how and when to test blood sugar. And welcome once again to cure high blood pressure. This time we will see Important Herbal Remedies for High Blood Pressure or Hypertension. In this video, we will learn about "herbal remedies for high blood pressure". High BP is also known as hypertension. Due to the stressful lifestyle and faulty eating habits in these days of globalization and urbanization, people are getting excessively susceptible to developing lifestyle diseases such as diabetes and hypertension or blood pressure. What are the ranges of high blood pressure? A person is said to be suffering from borderline hypertension when they report of BP in the range of 120-16 over 90-94 mmHg. On the other hand, a person with severely high pressure has reported to have in the range of 160+ over 115+ mmHg. It is nevertheless a "silent killer" and shows no significant symptoms. Every person who is older than 20 years is required to undergo an annual health check-up and that includes checking one's blood pressure. Garlic powder is considered one of the most effective herbal remedies for high BP. The course of action of garlic is that it causes thinning of blood and reduces the chances of blood clotting. This in turn has a positive effect on controlling high BP. Other important herbal remedies for high BP include a combination of "onion and honey". This combination is known to have drastically reduced the BP of many individuals. Onion juice and honey are mixed in equal proportion: this is taken in daily recommended dosage of 2 tablespoons to lower high BP. Fenugreek seeds are also considered as one of the beneficial herbal remedies for high blood pressure. All you need to do is add some seeds of fenugreek to water. The high BP patient is then required to drink this water when they wake up early in the morning. This course of "fenugreek seeds in water" is one of the most important herbal remedies for high BP in the sense that the results can be within a short span of three weeks. Apart from this, fish oil is known to have a positive effect on lowering high blood pressure. So they are also considered as one of the herbal remedies for high blood pressure and are available in the form of fish oil capsules. The key component of fish oil that is significant in lowering BP is DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). Apart from this, it should be mentioned that people suffering from high BP are strictly advised to lower the intake of salt in their diet as salt rapidly increases their BP. One is also required to reduce weight as weight loss significantly helps in controlling high blood pressure in overweight people. Eat 1/2 Teaspoon of Baking Soda Daily and THIS Happens to Your Kidneys

04:32
The kidneys are small, only about the size of a fist, but they perform vital functions that play a role in overall health. Each day, the kidneys filter about 120-150 quarts of blood, to produce 1-2 quarts of urine, filtering waste and extra fluid out of the body. The kidneys prevent the buildup of waste in the body, keep electrolyte levels stable, and make hormones that regulate blood pressure, make blood cells, and maintain strong bones. Many factors can lead to kidney damage, including type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, a disease called glomerulonephritis, which damages the kidney’s filtering units, infections, kidney stones, and overuse of some over-the-counter pain killers. Repairing the kidneys after damage just may lie in a common household item: baking soda. How Baking soda it Work? The endocrine system produces hormones and enzymes to help digest food into safer chemicals that the body can process. The pancreas is usually the organ that produces the majority of sodium bicarbonate to protect the kidneys during digestion. Sometimes, the kidneys will produce additional amounts, depending on the type of food you eat. If your diet includes added sugar, fried foods, fatty foods and other unhealthy choices, the endocrine system can become stressed. Both the pancreas and the kidneys will suffer a significant reduction in their ability to produce sodium bicarbonate effectively. Without sufficient production of bicarbonate, the acids produced during digestion cannot be effectively neutralized, causing kidney damage. How to Use Sodium Bicarbonate for Kidney Damage Talk to a health care professional before starting any type of treatment. Sodium bicarbonate is not toxic, but it can be difficult for a sensitive stomach to digest. Proper administration for those in danger of developing kidney disease includes: On the first day, dissolve 1/2 teaspoon baking soda under the tongue. The next day, mix 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda with 1/2 teaspoon of salt into 1.5 liters of water, and drink each day for 2-3 days. Then, reduce your daily dosage to 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda and 1/3 teaspoon of salt. Kidney damage can be caused by living an unhealthy lifestyle, so the best way to protect your kidneys is to maintain a healthy weight and a healthy diet! There have been studies that show that yoga has a positive effect on hypertension. Studies have shown that people who practice yoga a few times a week are able to lower their blood pressure. In the study, researchers led by Dr. Debbie Cohen of the University of Pennsylvania tracked 58 women and men, aged 38 to 62, for six months. Those doing yoga two to three times a week saw an average drop in blood pressure readings from 133/80 to 130/77, the researchers said. Another study done at the Faculty of Medicine at University of Duisburg-Essen in Essen, Germany, Cramer and his colleagues combined the results of seven previous studies that included 452 patients. In each of those studies, people with high or borderline-high blood pressure were randomly assigned to practice yoga for at least eight weeks or to get usual blood pressure care or another type of treatment instead. The researchers found that on average, yoga reduced systolic blood pressure (the top number in a blood pressure reading) by about 10 mm Hg and diastolic blood pressure (the bottom number) by 7 mm Hg, compared to usual care. Yoga can be helpful for those who suffer from hypertension because it gives the sympathetic nervous system a break, slows down your heart right and teachers your mind and body to relax deeply. The long slow deep breathing that you do during yoga also helps to lower blood pressure. Practicing cooling, calming and quieting poses is extremely beneficial for those with hypertension for a relaxing effect on your whole body and mind. Today we will practice supported shoulderstand with your body on a bolster and blocks and your head and shoulders off for an incredibly restorative effect on your whole body and nervous system.

Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor

►► http://blueheronhealthnews.stvae.com ◄◄ THE MOST POWERFUL NATURAL SYSTEM TO CONTROL BLOOD PRESSURE THAT EXISTS & REALLY WORKS!!! Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor In the 'old days', doctors took blood pressure with a large, scratchy piece of fabric that they wrapped around your upper arm. They then erratically pumped air into the fabric until you thought your arm would explode. Today, taking blood pressure is easier, faster and more comfortable with the use of ambulatory blood pressure monitors. These monitors are great for checking blood pressure over an extended period of time. Basics First, the basics of what a blood pressure monitor does. Blood pressure is created in the blood vessels of the body as the heart pumps blood into the circulatory system. As the heart contracts, you can measure that systolic pressure with a blood pressure cuff. Similarly, you can measure diastolic pressure, in the moment when the heart muscle relaxes. Knowing both of these pressure readings can help a doctor see whether your heartbeat is within normal ranges. The normal range for systolic pressure is around 120 to 140 beats per minute, and around 80-90 beats per minute diastolic pressure. Most people don't realize that high blood pressure doesn't usually come with built in symptoms. And the only way to find out for certain whether you have high blood pressure is by using a blood pressure monitor. Blood Pressure Monitors There are several different blood pressure monitor models and styles, among them the wristband blood pressure monitor and an ambulatory blood pressure monitor. Both are used for different reasons. If your doctor wants your blood pressure checked several times a day, for example, it's more feasible for you to wear an ambulatory blood pressure monitor. You wear an ambulatory blood pressure monitor so your doctor can record blood pressure every fifteen minutes to half an hour while you go about your business. You don't have to stay in the hospital or doctor's office with this particular monitor. A blood pressure cuff is wrapped around the upper left arm, like usual, and under clothing if needed. The blood pressure monitor cuff is connected to a small monitor about the size of an old fashioned transistor radio that can be attached to a belt or slid into a pants pocket. Ambulatory Monitor The ambulatory monitor is the best one to use when a doctor is monitoring a patient who might have borderline high blood pressure, or if high blood pressure has been difficult to control. Monitoring your daily activities with this special blood pressure monitor makes it easy on both patient and doctor. The ambulatory blood pressure monitor cuff checks blood pressure automatically. You don't have to do anything and it works while you're sleeping, eating, gardening or watching television. The doctor will probably want you to record your activities during the day so he'll know how often and when you were active or sedentary. You usually wear this monitor for twenty-four hours and then return to the doctor's office. Medical personnel will transfer the information stored in the monitor to a computer that will process the information. An ambulatory blood pressure monitor is an efficient, painless way to record blood pressure over time. In addition, it gives you the freedom to get on with your daily activities and chores. low blood pressure heart problems heart disease blood pressure problems what is low blood pressure symptoms of heart disease what is heart disease low blood pressure numbers low blood pressure readings heart attack statistics hypertension high bp dangers of high blood pressure heart blood pressure blood pressure low dehydration and blood pressure blood pressure during heart attack blood pressure diseases high blood pressure and kidneys hi blood lowering blood pressure
