9 Hormones That Lead to Weight Gain and Ways to Avoid It

10:01
How to Lose Weight without Workouts. You might think the only reason why you gain weight is overeating, but in fact it can also be the result of your hormones being all out of whack. Triggers like stress, age, genes, and poor lifestyle choices can cause a hormonal imbalance that leads to weight problems. To get the perfect body and keep it slim and slender, you have to follow our simple tips and keep 9 hormones under control. Thyroid hormones 0:45 The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland at the base of the neck. It produces the hormones T3, T4, and calcitonin, which are responsible for maintaining the body’s metabolism. If the thyroid doesn’t produce enough of these hormones, a condition called hypothyroidism, the result is often weight gain. To keep it under control, consume iodized salt (or seaweed if you’re on a low-salt diet). Avoid processed foods. Take vitamin D supplements. Consume foods rich in zinc like oysters and pumpkin seeds. Insulin 1:32 Overconsuming processed foods, unhealthy snacks, alcohol, or artificially sweetened drinks can cause the body to develop a resistance to insulin. This means that muscle cells won’t recognize glucose-bound insulin, so all that extra glucose remains in the bloodstream where it doesn’t belong. This causes a spike in blood sugar levels, leading to weight gain and Type 2 diabetes. To avoid it, consume lots of leafy greens and seasonal fruits and veggies. Eat foods full of omega-3 fatty acids. Drink at least a gallon of water every day. Exercise a minimum of 4 hours a week. Testosterone 3:45 Testosterone is often considered a strictly male hormone, but it’s produced in women too. It helps burn fat, strengthen the bones and muscles, and improve the libido. Age and high stress can cause a significant decrease in testosterone levels in women, leading to a loss of bone density and muscle mass. Work-out regularly and focus on muscle-building exercises. It helps boost testosterone levels. Avoid alcohol. Take protein supplements. Get enough fiber in your diet with the help of whole-grain foods, pumpkin seeds, and flaxseed. Leptin 6:39 Leptin is a hormone that keeps the body’s energy levels balanced by keeping hunger at bay. But when we eat food rich in sugar, the oversupply of fructose gets converted to fat that gets deposited in the liver, belly, and other regions of the body. It’s these very fat cells that secrete leptin. With high leptin levels, the brain stops receiving signals that the body doesn’t need to eat at a particular moment. Avoid sugary foods. Have no more than 3 servings of fruit per day. Consume dark green leafy veggies. Avoid processed food. Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS Thyroid hormones 0:45 Insulin 1:32 Cortisol 2:39 Testosterone 3:45 Progesterone 4:40 Estrogen 5:33 Leptin 6:39 Ghrelin 7:42 Melatonin 8:12 To sum it up 9:05 SUMMARY -If the thyroid doesn’t produce enough of hormones T3, T4, and calcitonin, a condition called hypothyroidism, the result is often weight gain. -Insulin is basically responsible for maintaining glucose levels in the blood. Overconsuming processed foods, unhealthy snacks, alcohol, or artificially sweetened drinks can cause the body to develop a resistance to insulin. -The primary function of cortisol is to decrease stress levels by increasing blood sugar levels, among other things. Too much cortisol makes the body store more fat. -Age and high stress can cause a significant decrease in testosterone levels in women, leading to a loss of bone density and muscle mass. -Progesterone secretion can drop due to a variety of factors. This can result in weight gain and sagging skin. -When estrogen levels go up, the cells that produce insulin get stressed. This makes you resistant to insulin, which causes a rise in blood glucose levels and leads to weight gain. -When leptin levels go up, the brain stops receiving signals that the body doesn’t need to eat at a particular moment. -Ghrelin stimulates the appetite and increases fat deposition. -Melatonin is a hormone that regulates your natural sleep-wake cycle. If we don’t get proper sleep, this healing process gets disrupted, which causes stress and ultimately leads to inflammation-induced weight gain. -Getting enough sleep, keeping a nutritionally balanced diet, drinking plenty of water, getting at least some physical exercise, and avoiding or limiting stress will keep your hormones under control. What Hormones Actually Make You Gain Weight

09:38
Why you don't manage to lose weight. In addition to a sedentary lifestyle and an unhealthy diet, hormones can play a role in weight gain. If you’ve been on one of the popular protein diets (meaning you eat only meat and have forgotten what carbs look like!) for over a month but your weight hasn’t changed, estrogen is probably to blame. To balance an excess of estrogen in your body, it’s recommended that you minimize your consumption of products rich in protein. If you want to find out which hormones might be an obstacle on your journey to the body of your dreams, watch our new video! And remember that all of the advice should be considered supplementary. If you think you have any hormonal problems, consult your doctor. Only a professional can give you the right diagnosis. TIMESTAMPS: An overbalance of estrogen 1:03 A deficit of serotonin 2:03 An excess of ghrelin 2:49 An excess of neuropeptide Y 4:04 An excess of prolactin 4:57 A deficit of glucagon 5:44 A deficit of adrenaline 6:28 An excess of testosterone 7:24 A deficit of adiponectin 7:58 #hormoneimbalance #hormones #hormonalstatus Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - High levels of estrogen make you gain weight despite the food you eat. This extra weight is mainly stored on your hips. In addition, your menstrual cycle becomes irregular, and you might have headaches or become overly emotional. - A serious lack of serotonin almost always manifests itself in depression and a bad mood. Moreover, people with a deficiency of serotonin often change their eating habits. - Ghrelin is a hormone that determines if you’re hungry or not, and it’s very stubborn! Even after a year on a low-calorie diet, your level of ghrelin could still be high (your body will try to store fat tissue just in case). - If the concentration of neuropeptide Y in your blood is high, you’ll end up with a ravenous appetite. This hormone can lead not only to simple weight gain but to clinical obesity. - A high level of prolactin leads to rapid weight gain. Women might notice that downy hair appears all over their body, a small mustache starts to grow, or their menstrual cycle changes. - Glucagon lowers your appetite and promotes fat digestion. The level of this hormone lowers after a stressful situation — and that’s how certain people begin stress eating. - Adrenaline (epinephrine) boosts metabolic processes and burns fat tissue. Epinephrine is all about the brightest emotions that you feel under certain (sometimes extreme) circumstances. - Testosterone is considered to be the male hormone, but it also plays an important role in the female body. An excess of testosterone leads to an increase in body weight, and fat tissue is stored in the upper parts of the body (arms, chest, and neck). - Excessive weight often indicates a lack of adiponectin, especially if the fat is mainly stored in the midsection. If you’ve been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, it’s likely that the level of adiponectin in your body is too low. 5 Hormones Responsible For Weight Gain In Women | Hormonal Imbalance In Women

5 Hormones Responsible For Weight Gain In Women | Hormonal Imbalance In Women Have you tried everything possible to lose weight but in vain? Why not get your hormones checked? Women are vulnerable to hormonal imbalance, food cravings and slow metabolism at all phases of their life. These may be related to pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS), pregnancy, menopause or day to day stress. In Today's video Remedies One will discuss 5 Hormones Responsible For Weight Gain In Women and in 2nd part i will discuss how to treat these Hormons . 1. Thyroid, The thyroid gland, which is present at the base of your neck produces three hormones—T3, T4, and calcitonin. These hormones regulate metabolism, sleep, heart rate, growth, brain development, etc. Sometimes the thyroid gland under-produces the thyroid hormone leading to hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism is often associated with weight gain, depression, constipation, fatigue, high blood cholesterol, slow heart rate. 2. Insulin, Insulin is a hormone secreted by the pancreas, which helps to carry the glucose into the cells to be used as energy or to store them as fat. This helps maintain the glucose levels in the blood. Over consuming processed foods, alcohol, artificially sweetened drinks, and snacking on unhealthy foods (or even consuming too many fruits) can lead to insulin resistance. In this case, the muscle cells are not able to recognize glucose-bound insulin, and therefore glucose remains in the bloodstream causing a spike in blood sugar levels. This finally leads to weight gain and Type 2 diabetes. 3. Leptin, Under normal conditions, the hormone leptin signals that you are full and should stop eating. But due to overconsumption of foods that are high in sugar content such as candies, chocolates, fruits (that are modified to contain a lot more fructose), and processed foods, the oversupply of fructose is converted to fat that gets deposited in liver, belly and other regions of the body. Now, fat cells secrete leptin. As you keep consuming more fructose-containing foods, more fat gets accumulated, and more leptin is secreted. This, in turn, desensitizes the body to leptin and the brain stops receiving the signal to stop eating. This ultimately leads to weight gain. Menopause and Weight Gain Simplified

04:55
Menopause encourages weight gain, and it can start as early as your 30's. In this video, Dr. Becky explains how changes in your hormones encourage weight gain in your lower body when you’re in your thirties and forties. And, how those same hormones cause weight gain in the belly in your fifties and beyond. Hormones and Weight Gain Progesterone is a hormone that is primarily produced by your ovaries after ovulation. Estrogen is produced by your ovaries all month long, but can also be produced by your fat cells. You can enter early perimenopause in your 30’s. In this stage, it’s not unusual to skip ovulation a few times a year. The missed ovulation means there is less progesterone produced, which leads to a condition called estrogen dominance. A symptom of estrogen dominance is weight gain in the hips and thighs. Menopause and Belly Fat As you age, your period becomes increasingly irregular, and then stops when you reach menopause. At and beyond menopause, both estrogen and progesterone are low. Your body tries to get more estrogen from your fat cells by encouraging fat production. Metabolic shifts caused by the low estrogen levels, shift your fat storage from your lower body to your belly, resulting in the menopausal belly fat that is a problem for so many post-menopausal women. Do you want to fight back against menopausal belly fat? I explain how in this video: https://youtu.be/udieK3hsdm0 When you’re ready to start losing weight, watch my free video series that shares 4 Daily Habits that give your body no choice but to lose weight. http://www.drbeckyfitness.com/coaching

How to Fix Your Hormones and Lose Weight

I’ve discussed different reasons for weight-loss resistance in past blogs. Many obstacles have nothing to do with what you eat or how much you exercise. Instead, they involve things like nutritional imbalances, chronic inflammation, metabolic challenges, leaky gut, changes in your microbiome, environmental toxins and your genes.

9 Hormones That Lead to Weight Gain and Ways to Avoid It Weight gain is often associated with overeating and can be caused by various hormones going berserk. While gaining weight is easy, losing it is not. Various triggers like stress, age, genes, and poor lifestyle choices can cause a hormonal imbalance leading to obesity. Health is Wealth has identified 9 hormones that cause an imbalance in the body resulting in weight gain. Also, we will tell you how you can keep these hormones in check. SUMMARY Thyroid hormones The thyroid gland is at the base of our necks. It produces hormones T3, T4, and calcitonin which are responsible for maintaining the body’s metabolism. Underproduction of these hormones leads to hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism is often associated with weight gain mostly due to the accumulation of water in the body and not fat, making a person look plump. How to avoid it: Consume iodized salt. Eat well-cooked food and avoid raw vegetables. Take vitamin D supplements. Consume food rich in Zinc content such as oysters and pumpkin seeds. Insulin Insulin is a hormone secreted by the pancreas. It helps to carry the glucose into the cells to be used as energy or to be stored as fat, thereby maintaining the glucose levels in the blood. Overconsumption of processed food, unhealthy snacks, alcohol or artificially sweetened drinks can lead to the body developing a resistance to insulin. This causes the muscle cells to not recognize glucose-bound insulin, resulting in glucose remaining in the bloodstream. This causes a spike in the blood sugar levels leading to weight gain and Type 2 diabetes. How to avoid it: Consume green leafy vegetables, seasonal fruits, and seasonal vegetables. To improve your omega-3-fatty acid levels, consume fatty fish, nuts, olive oil, flaxseeds. Drink at least 4 liters of water every day. Start working out at least 4 hours a week. Avoid alcohol, late night snacks, aerated and artificially sweetened drinks. Cortisol Cortisol is a hormone secreted by the adrenal glands when you are depressed, anxious, stressed, nervous, angry, or physically injured. Its primary function is to decrease stress levels by increasing blood sugar levels, suppressing the immune system and aiding in the metabolism of fat, protein, and carbohydrates. But given our often poor lifestyle choices, our body can be in a constant state of stress, leading to the secretion of cortisol being detrimental to our overall health by aiding visceral fat deposition and stimulating the maturation of fat cells. How to avoid it: Get at least 8 hours of sleep every night. Avoid processed food, deep fried food, and alcohol. Practice deep breathing, yoga, and meditation for at least one hour every day. It helps in reducing stress levels. Spend time with your family and close friends. There is no better way to unwind! Testosterone Testosterone is often considered to be a male hormone but it is also secreted by females. It helps burn fat, strengthens bones and muscles, and improves libido. Age and high stress can cause a significant decrease in testosterone levels in women, leading to loss of bone density, loss of muscle mass, and obesity. How to avoid it: Workout regularly. It helps improve testosterone levels. Avoid alcohol. Consume protein supplements. Include fiber-rich food like whole grains, pumpkin seeds, and flaxseed in your diet. The other hormones you can find in the video, so make sure you watch it till the end! Tell us in the comment section below what you think about our video! ⚖️ 6 Habits That’ll Quickly Make You Fat & Cause Weight Gain

05:13
Discover The Big “Weight Loss Scam” - Why 93% of Diet & Exercise Programs Fail. Plus, how you can quickly and naturally turn ON your “fat burning genes”: 👉 http://drsam.co/yt/SeeTheScam Or you can watch this video: http://drsam.co/yt/EatAnythingDiet ======================================= ⚖️ 6 Habits That’ll Quickly Make You Fat & Cause Weight Gain ======================================= There are lots of things you can do to lose weight. However, if you keep doing the WRONG things that make you fat, it makes the whole process so much harder. You don’t want to “sabotage” your weight loss efforts, by unknowingly making the following 6, daily habits that’ll quickly make you fat. So let’s save you time and effort, help speed up the weight loss process and more importantly, keep the fat off long-term! 1 - Eating While Distracted Eating while watching TV is probably the #1 cause of eating excessive calories. In fact, research by The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition revealed that distractions results in a person eating 50 percent more calories. Let's face it, when you're eating and watching TV or on your laptop or something else distracting, you're not pay attention to what you're eating. You're focused on the show, so you just keep eating, snacking and drinking. You're not "mindful"... So watch TV without any snacks or foods, unless it's vegetables with NO dressing. 2 - Eating Too Quickly Most of us are in a rush and we're not chewing your foods properly. This causes stomach problems, gas, bloat, acid reflux and weight gain. And one of the reasons you gain weight is because 20 minutes of eating, typically signals your brain that you're full. When you eat slowly, you'll eat LESS food during that time…. Because your brain shuts off your appetite. 3 - Drinking Your Calories Drinking your calories is a big problem because it only takes a couple of minutes to have juice, soda, a "shake" or any other liquid that's loaded with lots of calories. Eating real food causes a "thermogenic" effects, thus increasing your body temperature and metabolism. Also, "drinks" are typically loaded with lots of sugars, which spike up your insulin levels and increase belly fat. 4 - Not Moving Enough Your body is made to move. Yet, most people just sit all day -- you're sitting at work, in your car, behind the computer, while eating and so forth. You need to exercise or "move" daily. Simply taking a brisk, 20-30 minute walk daily will increase your metabolism because it improves your hormones and reduces cravings. 5 - Not Eating Often Enough Most people skip breakfast, which isn't a good idea. But the bigger problem is that most people skip lots of meals and then when they do sit down to finally eat, they are so hungry that they'll eat anything and make poor eating decisions. By eating more often, you'll have more energy, better blood sugar levels and less cravings and hunger. Also, the more often you eat, the faster your metabolism because your body has to "turn on" to digest all the food. Thus, eat smaller meals, more often. This can be 3 regular meals like breakfast, lunch and dinner. Plus 2 smaller "snack" meals. You can eat the same calories, but spread it over 5 smaller meals and you'll lose fat and feel better too. 6 - Not Drinking Enough Water Most people don't drink enough water and thus, are walking around dehydrated. To make it worse, most people are loaded on caffeine products -- coffee, "energy drinks", tea and so forth. When you're dehydrated, your more tired and fatigued. This causes you to move less and burn less calories. Drinking water, especially cold water, causes a thermogenic effect, similar to eating more meals. Drinking water, especially before a meal, also reduces hunger pains and cravings. It also prevents you from drinking OTHER "caloric" liquids. ======================================== Thank you for watching. Please feel free to comment, like or share with your friends. Dr. Hoban - Hormonal Imbalance and Weight Gain

06:24
In order to lose weight you need to address the imbalances in your body. Hormonal imbalance is only one reason for weight gain. When the adrenal glands are out of balance, you will most likely gain weight throughout the whole body. In this case, exercise is not beneficial until the adrenal glands are really balanced. We need rest and sleep, this is a very important part of life. #DrHoban #HolisticHealth

I knew there were something going on, one doesn't lose weight and feel crazy for no reason. One of my physicians gave me a mega dose of bioidentical progesterone at 200 mg / day. I gained a pound a week! All progesterone turned into estrogen and weight gain was so bad I gained 30 pounds of fat. Weight gain not due eating. I eat vegetables, proteins, complex carbohydrates that are all low glycemic. The weight gain was NOT due to diet. No sugar, no sugar drinks. The scale every week was going up a pound. I surrendered myself to the 30 pounds because I was sleeping better, not feeling as crazy, and stopped tremoring. 6 months went by and I found a different physician. He explained to me that ALL of the progesterone was turning into estrogen. Estrogen affects blood sugar by increasing insulin and also lowers thyroid function. Sugar increases in the blood and FAT STORES in the belly. It was tough!!! The dose of progesterone was lowered and was paired with chrysin. My progesterone and testosterone was low and estrogen was high. I stopped gaining weight immediately after the lower dose w/ progesterone and chrysin. Every few months I tried to lose weight and I'd feel crazy due to hormones releasing during weight loss. Sleep problems, anxiety, and feeling crazy. Then I started estrogen detoxification for 1.5 years SLOWLY every day, EVERY DAY and being mindful about diet no eating anything possibly estrogenic. No soy or pomegranates. No ginger, cinnamon, turmeric for me either. Lots of spice can act estrogenic affect too. I would keep detoxing then I would try to lose the bioidentical hormone weight gain and I would feel crazy again. The weight I gained for no logical reason! It took 2 years of detoxing estrogen before I could lose any weight. I would test the waters. January 1st 2018 I said ENOUGH of the weight. I remembered when I easily maintained weight and I did that. Breakfast NOON Lunch 4 pm Dinner 8 pm Snack 12 am (because of hypoglycemia) No snacking in between meals. No drinks with calories. Body will use the fuel from previous meals and will help balance leptin levels. This intermittant fasting thing started working really well and SLASHED calories to 1100-1200 a day. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 1100 to 1200 calories on the 12-4-4-4 meal times with low glycemic (55 and under) foods. Friday, Saturday, Sunday normal calories and still low glycemic foods. Sometimes I do 12-4-4-4 and sometimes I snack. Not super ridgid. My BioIdentical Hormone Weight Gain & How I Lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks 1. Intermittent fasting 2. Calorie slashing 3. Glycemic Index under 55 Log all foods in the glycemic index to watch the GI and calories. Daily glycemic average is between 35-45. Very important to keep insulin levels low to lose weight. These are a few things you can try, we are all different. More videos on how to detox extrogen and low glycemic but this can get you started. You are not alone if you have gained weight on bioidentical hormones, progesterone can become estrogen so easily. Symptoms of Female Hormone Imbalance & Impact on Weight Loss

07:07
http://getleantoday.com - Dr. Raj Banerjee introduces a series of videos that show you step-by-step how to stop your suffering and literally hand your life back to you - no matter how hard you've tried before. Here are the tough but true facts: - North America is facing an epidemic of obesity and chronic diseases. - 50 percent of Americans will have some form of cancer in their lifetime. - One in six Americans is either pre-diabetic or diabetic. - 66 % of Americans are overweight. - Over ten million Americans are taking anti-depressants. - 50% of people over 85 will have Alzheimer’s Disease. - Someone dies of heart disease every 34 seconds. - One in six Americans suffers from an Anxiety Disorder. - For the first time, in the history of our species our life expectancy is going down. That means that our children will get sicker and die younger than their parents. Dr Raj is going to share with you how you can make it stop and how he can help you feel yourself again! What are the symptoms of Hormone Imbalance that Dr Raj can help with? Fat, fatigued, depressed, food dependency, compulsive overeating, chocolate craving, bread or carbohydrate cravings, low sex drive, cry easily, PMS, mood swings, hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, irritability, sweet cravings, bloating, fluid retention, gas, weight gain without changes in diet even when you are exercising more, drinking alcohol or wine daily to relax cramping, irrational thoughts, anxiety, waking up at night around 2 to 4am, poor bladder control, osteoporosis, breast cancer, heart disease, infertility, irregular cycles, poor reactions to estrogen. The first 3 are the most common: Fat, fatigued and depressed. Here's the summary of hormone imbalances. Putting on weight that you can’t lose with all the typical strategies you have done in the past. Being tired all the time. Even though you are getting enough sleep, so you shouldn’t be tired. And having low mood, or depression. Those are the cardinal symptoms of adrenal exhaustion and female hormonal imbalances. He shares a case study of Sara, a big, beautiful, 40 some year old woman who charged into his office and demanded to know what Dr Raj can do to help her. Watch how he helped her figure out the cause of her hormone imbalance and safely and naturally led her to a healthy balance. Mary is another client case. She was on very heavy dosage of HRT, a synthetic hormone therapy, She had hot flashes and night sweats. And her symptom? She wanted to kill her husband, though she had a great marriage, and been married for 27 years, but couldn’t stand him. Dr Raj helped her make a transition from synthetic hormone to natural hormone over the course of 6 months. She now wants to get off the natural hormones because she feels in control. Her mood and energy is great, her sex drive is back, and she is happy with her husband again. She has made a transition in her life, from heavy dependency on a synthetic hormone to dependency on a safer, natural hormone to even thinking about stopping that. Its pretty simple once you do the detective work and find out what is actually causing your problem. and fix the underling cause and not just the symptoms. Dr Raj wants you to know ovarian hormones and female hormones do not spontaneously malfunction by themselves. They are responding to stress as a stress hormone called cortisol. Every molecule of cortisol that you produce comes from progesterone. When you under stress guess what happens? Your cortisol goes up and your progesterone drops. Dr Raj can test your cortisol and fix it. He can test your female hormones and fix your whole hormonal system at the same time and eliminate all your symptoms. This will help eliminate depression and fatigue, night sweats, hot flashes, mood swings and it will improve your metabolism so you will able to start losing weight effectively. The Real Hormone That Causes Age-Related Weight Gain

00:35
Scientists have discovered a possible connection between the body fat of menopausal women and some men and a hormone known as FSH, or follicle-stimulating hormone. Dr. Mone Zaidi, a professor of medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Manhattan, was investigating whether the hormone could affect bone density. And while it does have a stark effect, the hormone may be one of the most powerful dials on the biological systems that control how these women’s bodies store fat and burn calories. https://www.geek.com/science/what-really-causes-weight-gain-as-we-agenew-hormone-implicated-in-age-related-weight-gain-1711080/?source http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

Does Alcohol Make You Gain Weight? (The 4 Biggest Problems)

09:17
Get our Fit Father 30-Day Fat Loss Program here → https://goo.gl/HpvxLV Subscribe to our channel here → https://goo.gl/wxghQ5 **Does Alcohol Make You Gain Weight?** Often, when you set out on a weight loss journey, you may consider whether alcohol and weight loss mix and whether you’ll need to give up alcohol completely in order to make the most of your efforts. The answer I’m going to give you today is ‘No, not completely.’ That may make some of you happy to hear! In fact, when it comes to the question “Does alcohol make you fat,” it’s not actually the alcohol that causes you the problems. There are 4 predominant issues that I cover in this video and below that actually cause you to gain weight if you drink often. Let’s dive on in and find out what they are! **Problem #1 - Blunted liver processing and metabolism When you drink alcohol, your body considers it a poison and focuses its efforts on metabolizing it before anything else. Because of this, the livers' job of metabolizing fat is severely blunted. Studies have shown that this process, necessary to stop your body from storing excess fat, can be affected by up to 75%! Also, when your liver is busy trying to metabolize alcohol, it gets severely depleted of your vitamin and mineral resource, especially B vitamins. One particular symptom of a lack of Vitamin B is tiredness. Think back to your last hangover – Now you probably understand why you felt so tired! **Problem #2 - Increased storage of fat from food and sugary drinks Building on top of weight gain and alcohol problem #1 comes the issue of fat being stored more readily due to the blunting of your liver function to metabolize fat. During times of drinking alcohol you should be more choosy about what you eat, opting for foods that are higher in Protein, but lower in Carbs and Fat. Even a meal that you would normally think of as healthy, such as salad, avocado, and salmon, could end up causing you to store more fat. This goes back to the blunting of the liver function and it is not being able to keep up with metabolizing the extra calories effectively. Your choice of drink will also be important, as anything that is sugary, like cocktails, will obviously be higher in Carbs than a straight drink like a vodka soda. For a full list of approved best drinks, check out my 30-Day weight loss plan at → https://www.fitfatherproject.com/ff30x-letter-video/ **Problem #3 - A negative effect on sleep The next problem of alcohol and weight gain is its negative effect on sleep, particularly sleep quality and duration. The main impact is when it comes to REM sleep as this is when your body is usually producing necessary hormones for your body to be at its optimum. That moves us to the next problem. **Problem #4 - A negative effect on hormones When it comes to weight gain and alcohol, this problem is a big one too. If you’ve been around our channel or our website, you’ll know that hormones have a massive impact on your weight loss efforts. Even after just 2 or 3 drinks, alcohol lowers Human Growth Hormone and Testosterone levels, while increasing levels of Estrogen. This creates a very favorable environment for weight gain, which is exactly what you don’t need. So when it comes to weight loss and alcohol, my recommendation would be to limit the number of times you drink; when you do drink, make sure you use the approved drinks I recommend in FF30X → https://www.fitfatherproject.com/ff30x-letter-video/; drink plenty of water and make wise food choices to go with them. I hope this answers your question “Does alcohol make you gain weight?” and helps you along the way! The Connection Between Sleep and Weight Gain - Dr. Sherri Tenpenny

02:33
According to the Centers for Disease Control, about 65% of Americans are overweight or obese. Most experts say our sedentary lifestyle and excessive caloric intake are to blame. But we're also getting less sleep, and sleep deprivation is just coming to light as a factor associated with obesity. There are an ever-increasing number of studies finding a direct connection between sleep deprivation and weight gain. In a study involving 9,000 people between 1982 and 1984, researchers found that people who averaged 6 hours of sleep per night were 27% more likely to be overweight than their counterparts who slept 7-to-9 hours per night. Those averaging 5 hours of sleep per night were 73% more likely to be overweight. In a Harvard Nurses' Health Study, women who slept less than 5 hours per night were 30% more likely to gain at least 33 pounds over time, than women who slept 7 to 8 hours per night. Researchers measured growth hormone levels in 20yo men who were restricted to 6 hours of sleep per night. Growth hormone regulates both blood sugar and the body's proportion of fat to muscle. Without adequate sleep, the production of growth hormone goes down. The study concluded that sleep deprivation during your 20s can lead to a middle-age paunch later in life. The amount of sleep you get early in life can even affect your health when you get older. How does this happen? Inadequate sleep affects a hormone that regulates carbohydrate metabolism called leptin. When leptin levels are low, you crave carbohydrates which leads to a vicious cycle of more carbs, more insulin and a yo-yo affect on blood sugar levels. The end result is obesity and even pre-diabetes....and sometimes, even to full blow diabetes. So, can you lose weight while you sleep? It sounds like something you'd hear on a late night infomercial. But as wild as the idea sounds, substantial medical evidence suggests a fascinating link between getting adequate sleep, your hormones and your weight. What an ideal circumstance! Sleep more and lose weight! Does Progesterone Cause Weight Gain or Weight Loss?

19:30
Progesterone can cause weight loss or weight gain depending on the situation. If you are interested in losing weight while taking progesterone you will want to make sure you are doing 4 things: - Make sure you are taking bio identical progesterone. - Make sure you are using progesterone correctly (through the transdermal route). - Make sure you are taking it at the right time of the month (days 14-28 of your cycle). - And make sure you are not using TOO much for your body. This guide will walk you through who should use progesterone for weight loss and who should avoid it. If you use progesterone in this way there is a good chance it will actually help with weight loss. Using progesterone if you have normal levels of progesterone may lead to weight gain and other symptoms of progesterone excess. Cortisol And Belly Fat | Does Stress Cause Weight Gain?

05:03
Cortisol And Belly Fat | Does Stress Cause Weight Gain? is a video that offers you a complete guide as to how you can improve your health and lose belly fat by reducing the hormone cortisol. Mindful Meditation Article: https://nuvisionexcel.com/mindful-meditation/ Herbal Cortisol Reducer: http://bit.ly/2nKRM0U Cortisol and belly fat are directly related. The more stress you have in your life, the more blood sugar you will have in your bloodstream. Along with that, you will raise insulin and cause weight gain. Back in the days of our ancestors, cortisol and belly fat weren't as much of an issue simply because the level of stress people encountered on a daily basis was not constant. In todays modern society, the cortisol stress issue is chronic as a result of social media, financials, and so many other details that have people heads spinning. The cortisol effect on the body is far beyond belly fat. It is related to muscle breakdown, insulin resistance, depressed immune function, and so any other health concerns. It is without a doubt a hormone that we want to focus on balancing for long term health. The best ways to decrease cortisol levels is to use mindful meditation, a gratitude journal, perform any for of exercise especially yoga, and use cortisol supplements as they are research proven to reduce cortisol levels and as a result support the health benefits that follow decreased cortisol. As a result of lowering cortisol, you lower insulin levels which in turn will support weight loss and the reduction of belly fat. Decreasing cortisol is not hard, you just have to have a strategy around it that offers you the support needed. Stress, hormones and weight gain connection

02:53
Stress, hormones and weight gain connection. There is an important connection between stress, hormones and weight gain, which manifests itself in many forms. Besides eating the wrong kinds of food and lack of exercise, being permanently stressed will disrupt our hormone balance. Our bodies produce many different hormones to keep it in balance. However, physical stress is as important to address as emotional stress. When for example we take in a stimulant such as coffee or a cigarette (physical stressors), or react stressfully to a situation (emotional stress), the body produces the cortisol hormone in the adrenal glands which are located on top of the kidneys. Cortisol is often called the “stress hormone” due to the fact that it is being released in situations when we are under any sort of pressure or in a flight or fight mode. High cortisol levels contribute, among other symptoms to weight gain. In women, cortisol competes for receptor sites with an important female hormone, progesterone. So the net effect of being permanently in a stressed or stimulated state is less active progesterone. Since cortisol also increases the production of estrogen, prolonged stress can contribute to estrogen dominance. A situation where estrogen is the dominant hormone because there is not enough progesterone to complement it, may result in a variety of symptoms, including weight gain. Stress also upsets the balance of the male hormone, testosterone, which is made in the adrenal glands in men as well as women. In women, excess testosterone production can lead, among other symptoms to subsequent weight gain. On the other hand, research shows that in men, low testosterone levels will make them gain weight . Hormone imbalances brought on by the wrong kind of diet, unhealthy lifestyle and exposure to hormone-disrupting chemicals, can lead to either an androgen (masculinising hormone) dominance or estrogen dominance. Excessive androgen levels are linked to fat gain in upper body and waist, while excessive estrogen levels are associated with lower body fat gain. Thus, apple-shaped people are more likely to be androgen dominant while pear-shaped people are more likely to be estrogen dominant. Either way, too much stress, sugar and stimulants are most definitely going to contribute to unwanted weight gain. Menopause Weight Gain: What Causes it & How to Prevent it

13:50
Why do menopause and weight gain go hand in hand? On average women entering menopause gain around 15-20 pounds without changing their diet or exercise routine. Why do women gain weight without making any of these changes? The answer has to do with how menopause impacts the body but especially how it impacts your hormone system and how they impact your metabolism and body weight. There are several factors that come together to trigger weight gain in menopause women: #1. Genetic factors. You don't have control over your genetics but you can control your environment which impacts your genetics. #2. Hormone changes. This is perhaps the most important section because your hormones influence your metabolism and other hormone systems such as your thyroid. Menopause is associated with a rapid and abrupt decline in estrogen and progesterone. Testosterone follows closely behind these two hormones as well. It is the change in these hormones which triggers the symptoms associated with menopause and many of the other problems. #3. External variables. Lastly, other variables such as the amount that you exercise, the food that you eat, your medical conditions and the medications you are taking all play a role. If you are not eating healthy prior to menopause then you will probably gain more weight than most women. On the flip side, if you go into menopause eating a healthy diet then you have a better chance of reducing the amount that you gain during the menopause transition. So how can you treat the weight gain? The best way is to focus on the variables which cause the weight gain, to begin with. That means focusing on normalizing your hormones with the use of bio-identical hormones and by addressing your diet, exercise routine and so on. Hormones and Weight Gain after 40's Why is weight loss so much harder as you get older? You've constantly been able to reduce weight if you establish your mind to it, right? You go on vacation, put on half a stone, get back and take place that old diet plan that always made use of to function a treat. You're too stressed: Cortisol, our stress hormone, pumps sugar into our blood so that we have enough energy for our 'fight or trip' response. That added sugar obtains wiped up by insulin and goes directly to our fat cells for storage. A stressed out body hangs on to fat for dear life! You're running on empty: When you're tired and exhausted (the older we obtain the even more we seem to have to manage), you have not got the power to be also thinking about healthy foods. You're most likely grabbing foods that are practical and will certainly provide you an immediate boost typically improved carbohydrates, sweet treats, and refined foods and also take away. How Lack Of Sleep And Sleep Apnea Can Cause Weight Gain

03:03
Click Here!! http://www.saturdaydiet.com for eCourses Get FREE; 10 page Weight Loss eBook at http://www.joanBars.com How Lack Of Sleep And Sleep Apnea Can Cause Weight Gain There two hormones cause you to gain or lose weight and both are either increase or decrease by the amount of sleep you have each night. The first hormone is called Ghrelin whose purpose is to tell us when we need to eat. Lack of sleep will cause you to over produce Ghrelin causing weight gain. The second hormone is Leptin, it is the hormone that tells us to stop eating. When you don’t get enough sleep you under produce Leptin, also causing us to overeat. Too little Leptin and too much Ghrelin caused by lack of sleep will cause you to gain weight. To compound the injury your metabolism slows down when you suffer lack of sleep. The brain, which is the most energy intensive organ in your body, it uses sleep to clean out the waste it produces during the cause of your waking hours. If the waste is not removed from your brain during sleep it brings on many problems associated with weight gain, depression and dementia. Sleep apnea comes in two forms, Obstructive sleep apnea and Central sleep apnea. You may have either one of the forms of sleep apnea and or even know it. Symptoms of sleep apnea are gasping or choking sounds along with snoring. Hormones Not Calories Cause Weight Gain and Loss

00:32
We’ve seen that the "eat less, exercise more" model of weight loss has not worked. Dr. Jade Teta says the reason is because calories don't control metabolism, hormones do. How do you switch your mindset so you can design a diet that takes a hormones-first approach? Here are 5 important tips from Dr. Teta: 1) Think “fat loss”, not “weight loss”: There is more than one destination for a calorie. Decrease calories and you may lose fat, but you might lose muscle instead. Increase calories and perhaps you will gain fat, but you could alternatively gain muscle. The type of activity you do can determine which occurs. This is why weight training is so powerful in turning weight loss into fat loss. It is the only form of activity that pushes extra calories toward lean tissue growth. 2) Think of food as information, not fuel: A doughnut and a chicken breast have the same number of calories, but one food will give sustained energy, decrease hunger and blunt cravings. The other will provide less consistent energy and speak more to your fat cells than your muscle. Quality of food matters. 3) Every action has a reaction: Meals are not separate and distinct. What you eat -- or don't eat -- for breakfast will impact how much you eat and what you crave to eat for lunch, which will have the same impact on dinner. Your choices at one meal directly influence your decisions at the next meal, and this determines fat loss or fat gain. Don't eat less, eat smarter. 4) The gray area: Nutrition is not black-and-white, but gray. There are individual reactions to food that may apply to one person but not another. The choice to have a diet Coke because it has zero calories may or may not be a wise choice for you. For you, this practice may cause cravings later, but for someone else it could kill the desire for sweet. The weight-loss model completely ignores individual reactions to food. 5) Don’t worry about what you weigh: Gaining weight does not always mean gaining fat. What if you are gaining muscle instead? Realize that a pound of fat and muscle weigh the same, but muscle takes up less space on the body. You can look 130 pounds but weigh 150 pounds when you have developed a lean, muscular physique. Skinny and flabby is the look of weight loss. Lean and tight is the look of fat loss. Always remember, you are as different on the inside chemically as you are on the outside physically. The weight-loss game is a one-size-fits-all approach to a completely individual practice. It's a game you can't win, because it is not built for you. Instead of being the weight-loss dieter, become the fat-loss detective. Spend the time to figure out your individual metabolic expression, psychological tendencies and personal preferences. Do that and it is not a matter of IF you will change your body, but WHEN you will change. http://www.Be-Thin.com

Stress hormone cortisol can make you fatter

04:41
Stress results in raised levels of the hormone cortisol. This stress hormone helps us during times of emergency, but can cause weight gain when levels are chronically raised. Belly fat cells are many times more responsive to the fat promoting effects of cortisol. So getting stressed can expand your waistline. Elevated cortisol levels interfere with the proper functioning of the blood sugar control hormone insulin. High insulin levels are linked to weight gain, and obesity. Insulin also promotes weight gain around the middle. Cortisol results in appetite changes. Particularly cravings for sweet things and carbohydrates. This further increases weight gain. Relaxation and meditation techniques help lower cortisol. Dietary changes that help lower cortisol levels: Blood sugar balance is the single most important factor, disturbed blood sugar causes excess insulin to be pumped out. Removing sugar and refined carbohydrates is a key component of blood sugar balance. Supplements that help reduce cortisol: the blood sugar balance minerals chromium and magnesium. Fish oil also helps balance blood sugar, and can directly reduce cortisol output. Phosphatidylserine directly reduces cortisol output. Ashwagandha increases tolerance to stress, lowers anxiety levels and directly reduces cortisol output.
