This is a Part 2 to my "Rehab Workout" video (link:http://youtu.be/IhGrk_FRhr4) to acknowledge my viewers who are working with the added challenge of a disability or injury. Many people have written in asking me what they can do while rehabbing a knee or ankle, and others have asked what can be done from their wheelchair. This is a workout we came up with. As you know, Laura next to me is recovering from 2 recent knee surgeries. We both broke a sweat doing this routine and had a lot of fun. For hand and partial arm amputees (and carpal tunnel sufferers!), use velcro wrist or ankle weights and adjust accordingly. They're incredibly useful, especially the ones that are adjustable in weight. Also, you can buy a velcro attachment for cable and resistance band-based exercises. It comes with padding for your skin, adjustable velcro and a D-ring for attaching any bands or weights. Thanks for writing in and challenging me to get more creative with my training! An instruction video to show those with a disability how they can exercise in a regular gym. Rob is a wheelchair user with a spinal cord injury. He shows you which equipment you can use and demonstrates how to perform a variety of exercises using free weights, weight machines, cable and pulley machine and the TRX system. Rob uses Active Hands gripping aids to help him access some of the equipment as he has hand weakness due to his injury. These gripping aids not only give you access to the equipment but give you a firm, safe grip. The exercises that Rob demonstrates are not just for building muscle but also for improving balance, increasing stamina and preventing injury. My personal journey to better overall health began in March of 2013 on the Slenderiiz Weight Management Program because of the amazing woman in this video. Like most of you, I had tried every "diet" under the sun including Weight Watchers, Nutri System, the Adkins Diet, the South Beach Diet, Dexatrim, Hydroxycut.....the list just goes on and on. I am a stay at home mom to 3 little boys and I needed to get healthy to be able to keep up with my guys. But his life changed on Aug. 17, 1998, when a tire blew out on his Buick Skylark. The car rolled over 5-1/2 times, ejected him, and then hit him in the back as a final indignity. He tells the story in the new video "Rising Up: The Story Of Nick Scott." In his hospital bed, Nick wasn't certain he'd ever walk again. Paralyzed from the waist down, he fell into a deep depression while his body weight eventually ballooned to more than 300 pounds. Coming back wasn't easy. Arthur Boorman was a disabled veteran of the Gulf War for 15 years, and was told by his doctors that he would never be able to walk on his own, ever again. He stumbled upon an article about Diamond Dallas Page doing Yoga and decided to give it a try -- he couldn't do traditional, higher impact exercise, so he tried DDP YOGA and sent an email to Dallas telling him his story. Dallas was so moved by his story, he began emailing and speaking on the phone with Arthur throughout his journey - he encouraged Arthur to keep going and to believe that anything was possible. Even though doctors told him walking would never happen, Arthur was persistent. He fell many times, but kept going. Arthur was getting stronger rapidly, and he was losing weight at an incredible rate! I have Guillian - Barre Syndrome. Exercise is not easy. So I came up with plan ( as you will see in the video ) to lose weight from Eating right. I am a very Visual person. So having the Chart on my Fridge will help me tremendous. You say it is easy, we'll I am a foodie person always cooking yummy meals. That most of the time are not good for me n also I eat to much. I am eating from a Desert plate n no going back for more. I know the 1st 3 days are easy to stay on track it is the days after that are not so easy to stay on track.

"Kids can be cruel," he says. "I was subject to ridicule and bullying, which caused me to develop a very defensive and protective state of mind." When Jordan was in the ninth grade, his parents divorced. He blamed himself, and his weight soared. It wasn't until he became a football lineman that his 5-foot-9, 290-pound frame was put to good use. Then, tragedy struck. "When I was 14, my mom suddenly passed away," he says. "I'll never forget the moment I heard the news. I was in complete shock." The search for "Why?" provided no answers and drove Jordan further into despair. "Food became my outlet—my coping mechanism for dealing with my depression," he says. "I didn't care about my future." By the end of his senior year of high school, Jordan weighed 400 pounds. He doesn't know how heavy he became, because after graduation, he stopped tracking his weight. "Doctors told me I would die young from obesity-related complications; I told them, 'If that happens, then so be it,'" he says. It wasn't until after his accident that Jordan had a change of heart. Why Was Your Accident A Wake-Up Call? On March 30, 2008, I was in a car collision, and it took five guys to lift me up on the stretcher. The next day, I went for an MRI and barely fit inside the machine. They almost had to send me to a special version that is bigger than normal. That day, I decided that I'd had enough. I decided I had to change the way I lived and ate, and I started exercising. I decided I was worth the hard work and dedication that it would take to improve my future. No matter how hard it would become, I vowed never to give up. I realized there was no room for excuses, self-pity, or fear. The pain of what had to be done could never match the pain I felt from the way I was living. What Were The First Steps You Took To Transform Your Life? I started out walking my little Boston terrier, Blackberry. It took me an hour to walk her one mile—down and back up a hill. After that mile, everything hurt. I felt so uncomfortable. But I stuck with it, and we were eventually running 4 miles a day six days a week. When I thought about quitting back then, I knew I had to do this not only for myself, but for my dog, too! I lost 100 pounds just from walking. While on vacation in Las Vegas, I ventured into the hotel gym. I got to work, hoping that nobody would be around. Soon after, a few folks joined in. Instead of laughing at me and reacting the way I thought they would, they encouraged me. When I got home, I joined a local gym. If people thought I was out of place or had negative thoughts, that would be their problem. My name is Janice Tobrid and I from lawrenceville, GA. I been on the program for over 101/2, 11 months. I have lost over 100 pounds and still counting. What happened instead set the wheels of change in motion. "[My plan] 'backfired' on me, and people started to try to convince me that it wasn't too late, that even at my weight, all was not lost," remembers Jesse. "I didn't want to hear it and made my usual excuses, like not having enough money for groceries or lacking the motivation. But the members of the thread didn't accept my excuses and even offered advice on how it could be done. They walked me through it, provided me with a platform to get feedback and take baby steps, and the rest is history!"
