Diet to lose weight. What I eat in a day , Carb cycling. Low Carb Diet. Burn Fats Fast | Calories Deficit, High Protein, Weight Loss, Food for losing fat, healthy food. healthy way to lose weight Hey guys. This is my current diet plan. Just started this carb cycling diet for over a week and i've lost about a kg. I'm pretty sure loads of it is just water weight since I cut down my carbs. I am still full of energy so i figured it is doing pretty well! Please remember I am very petite and 5'1 so I don't need to take in lots of calories to maintain my weight. To maintain my weight, I only need around 1550-1600 cal per day so I brought it down to around 1250-1300 per day now if I don't exercise. I still have two normal higher carbs days. Everyone is different and our body burn at a different rate so you would have to trail and error and see what is the calories intake to maintain your weight. I also increase my cal intake on the days i exercise! Also another reason why I count calories is because I don't want to be too under calories because then my body will burn off some of the muscles that I've built. I try really hard to built my muscles so I am not going to starve to just to lose some weight because that is counter intuitive. I am only on a 200-300 cal deficit, and for 5 days a week. If I add up my calories for the whole week, I am only approx 13% under at MOST which is a very small number. When I do intense exercises, or any exercises, I increase my calories intake. I am in no way starving myself and I will never do that. I only want to lose a bit of fats and you have to be in cal deficit to lose some fats. Counting calories can be such a sensitive subject but that is the best way for me to lose some weight without losing muscle mass and doing it in the healthy way. Also, the reason why I decided to lose some weight is because I've gained quite a bit of fats around my waist line. I've talked about this in my previous video. I've started doing hiit exercises. I want to get really defined abs for my summer holiday so that's the reason why i'm cutting too. I've been bulking for the last couple of months and now it's time to lose some fats. I'm going to be on this diet for another week and see how it goes. I am not looking to be super skinny because that's what i'm not looking for. Also another thing that I didn't mentioned in this video is that I cut off all the fats from the chicken and also I only used heart smart minced beef, basically the minced beef has got barely any fats. I only take lean meats when i'm cutting. Chicken thighs, scotch fillet, t-bone, lamb are a lot higher in fats, so higher calories. Try to choose lean meat! Cauliflower or any veg is a great way to have carbs because it is so low in calories. Per 100g of cooked cauliflower gives you only 33 Calories. Most vegetables are really low in calories so try to eat more vege and less processed food. The whole day of food macro was: 1250 cal 132g Protein 94g Carbs 45g Fats Nice apps to track your macro are My Fitness Pal or Cronometer. I'll also add the measurement of my food shortly. This diet is EXTREME & considered a CRASH DIET it is in no way advised as a sensible method for losing weight. If you are planning to undertake this diet all you will have in your body is Fish & Broccoli and enough quantity to satisfy the brain enough to deplete fat storage rather then muscle reserves although it could still dip into the richer safer muscle storage if more then 2 weeks is introduced. Let's face it; we all have that burning desire to indulge in delicious things every now and then. Of course, I'm talking about the milk, bacon, cream, chicken, grilled cheese and more. But what if you decide to give up on these super tasty goodies? More like quitting the sweets and making a big switch to the plant-based lifestyle? Ever considered doing this? If so, you're not alone! Today many people have taken the big step to try out the vegan diet for their health and a few other reasons. Of course, going the vegan is also great for animals and our planet as a whole — pretty sure you get the point. Well, if you're actually considering going vegan, I'll recommend you get a better idea what it feels like to make the big switch. Of course, there are quite a few compelling benefits to plant-based diets, but you should know that the diet can be a bit difficult to follow. In essence, it's not necessarily easy to switch and stick to the vegan way. Still interested? If so, you're awesome! In this video, I'm going to let you in on what to expect in your first 31 days without meat, dairy and every delicious thing in between. Note: it's going to based on my personal experience. Let's dive in! Week 1 During the first week of your transition, there's a good chance of trying figure out how to eat properly. In other words, your diet will be all over the place. Personally, I wasn't eating enough fruits and veggies, and sometimes I end filling up with high-fat foods say nuts and more. Yes, this is one of the most common mistakes newbies are likely to make. So take note! As the week went by (more like towards the end), I started feeling more tired than usual. Following this change, I decided to decrease fats and increase my portion sizes; well, to be honest, the change didn't really affect how tired I felt. Week 2 Moving forward, the body weakness followed me into the start of the second week. But the good news is, I started regaining strength as time flew — more like towards the end of the week. And this leads to yet another uncomfortable side effect you're likely to experience — gas and bloating. Trust me, mine was super annoying. But the good thing is, these symptoms are a normal part of the transition. In essence, it's just a way of your body adapting to all the fiber you're consuming. As you probably expected, the bloating got better after a few days and by the end of the second week, pretty much everything was gone! I also think it's great to let you in on how I fell in love with my veggies. In fact, it feels like my taste buds changed as I turned vegan. Right now, I can't seem to get enough of roasted pumpkin, mushrooms, broccoli, potato, red peppers and more. Who knows? You might feel the same way too! Week 3 Here's the thing; my third week of veganism was awesome. First off, the bloating was completely gone and I no longer felt weak and tired. What's more, getting out of bed was no longer a chore — it became easier than I expected. Week 4 Yes, as I said before, my third week was awesome but I trust me, the fourth was super! I literally fell in love with my skin — the glow was amazing. The change in my diet had a great impact on my skin; my complexion became clearer than it has been in years. So basically those with skin issues are likely to love their skin after going vegan; that's just how it is! And finally, I actually lost some weight but of course, the results weren't immediate. The big idea here is that plant-based options are lower in calories than meat, grilled cheese, chicken, bacon and more. Pretty sure you get the point! All in all, losing weight as a vegan depends on what and how much you eat. The big secret is to stick with balanced and healthy choices — not going to be easy, but trust me, it's totally worth it! Broccoli- Broccoli is a great healthy vegetable snack, not only it is low in calories, but it won’t make you gain any weight. In fact, it can help you lose weight by filling you up. A cup of this cooked vegetable is only 54 calories, and since it is 89 percent of water by weight, it aids in making you full fast. In addition, broccoli will help keep your digestion regular thanks to its fiber content. It’s also rich in vitamins K, C and A. You can start off by throwing some broccoli in a high fiber breakfast salad. Just remember to steer clear of the ranch, melted cheese or any other toppings as these fatty dressings can spike up the calorie content. Bear in mind that just eating broccoli alone in the morning, won’t make you lose weight if you’re on a diet. Not only is yogurt filling but it’s high in calcium. Scientists at the University of Knoxville have discovered that dietary calcium influences weight loss so high calcium foods preserve metabolism and heighten body fat breakdown. It’s also quick to eat and can be taken on the go. 8. Extra Firm Tofu- We’re not talking about regular tofu here, we’re talking about extra firm tofu. So what’s the difference? Well, extra firm tofu is a bean curd with lower water content than other types of tofu. It has more protein due to the presence of more soy, and it’s firm in texture, less crisp and virtually tasteless. Extra firm tofu is considered a slimming food because it is low in fat and low in calories. It is also a non animal high protein material that is rich in phosphorous and calcium that has a lot of magnesium and iron. Plus it’s versatile to cook; you can add it to a hot pot of soup, braise it, stew it or combine it with minced fish or use it to make tofu burger patties as a healthy alternative. If you are ONLY eating one a day with your other meals, you have options. 1. Cut the recipe in half, or 2. Put 4 meals in the freezer and 3 meals in the fridge. 3. Proteins are the building blocks of body tissue, and even give the body the energy it needs to grow and develop properly. When protein is digested, it breaks down into amino acids. The Institute of Medicine says that women need at least 46 grams of protein a day, and men need at least 56 grams a day. Here are the top 10 sources of protein for vegetarians 1. Greek Yogurt Greek yogurt, which has the whey strained out of it, is a great source of protein. A 6-ounce cup of Greek yogurt has 15- 20 grams of protein. That’s much more than regular yogurt, which has about 9 grams of protein. This probiotic food also has a lot of vitamins and minerals. Eating Greek yogurt all the time will help your digestive system stay healthy, boost your immune system, help with weight loss, stop high blood pressure, lower bad cholesterol, and fight yeast infections. 2. Lentils Lentils is another good choice for protein. But they are not a full protein food because they don’t have all nine important amino acids. One cup of boiled lentils has 18 grams of protein. There are many good health reasons to eat lentils. They give energy, lower the risk of heart disease, help keep a normal body weight, and keep the digestive system healthy. 3. Edamame Edamame is a full protein food, important amino acids you need in your diet. One cup of cooked edamame has 17 grams of protein. Edamame beans have fiber, vitamins, minerals, and healthy polyunsaturated fats, especially omega-3 alpha- linolenic acid. They are also naturally gluten- free and don’t have a lot of calories. 4. Kidney Beans Kidney beans are another great source of protein. One cup of boiled kidney beans has 15 grams of protein. They have all nine amino acids, but they are not a full protein because they don’t have a lot of methionine, a proteinogenic amino acid. Kidney beans have a lot of fiber, folate, magnesium, potassium, zinc, and vitamins K and B6. They are also low in fat and cholesterol. 5. Tofu Tofu is a soy milk product, and is also a good source of protein. ½ a cup of tofu has 10 grams of protein. It has eight important amino acids and a lot of iron and calcium. It also has manganese, selenium, phosphorus, magnesium, copper, zinc and vitamin B1. 6. Chia Seeds Another good source of protein for vegetarians is chia seeds. Two tablespoons of chia seeds will give you 9.4 grams of protein. They are also one of the best plant sources of omega-3 fatty acids. Chia seeds can help with digestion, treat anemia, give you energy, control blood sugar, stop aging signs, and boost brainpower. 7. Quinoa Quinoa has all nine important amino acids, and is a full protein source. One cup of cooked quinoa has 8.14 grams of protein. Quinoa also has fiber, iron, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus and folate. Eating quinoa every day can lessen swelling and lower your risk of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and colon cancer. It can also help your digestion and help you keep a healthy body weight. 8. Soy Milk Soy milk is used instead of milk by a lot of vegans and people who are lactose intolerant and cannot drink milk. It is full of protein and has vitamins A, B12, and D. One cup of soy milk has 8 grams of protein. 9. Green Peas One of the best sources of vegetable protein is green peas, or any peas for that matter. Green peas also have fiber, potassium, magnesium, iron, zinc, folate, and vitamins B, C, A, and K. They are also low in calories. One cup of cooked green peas gives you about 8 to 10 grams of protein. Green peas can help lower the risk of heart disease, arthritis, and type 2 diabetes. 10. Peanut Butter Peanut butter is another great way to get protein. This nut butter is a good source of monounsaturated fat and fiber. It is also full of vitamins. Just 2 tablespoons of peanut butter has 8 grams of protein. If you’re careful not to eat too much of it at once, this butter can help lower bad cholesterol and help you keep a normal weight. That can’t be further from the truth. Eating fat, COULD make you fat if you eat in excess of your daily caloric maintenance levels just as eating too many carbs and protein can as well. The simple act of eating a fat molecule will not cause it to be stored as body fat in your body. In fact, nutritional fats are a necessary part of a healthy diet plan, with fat making up a portion of the surrounding layer of nearly every cell in your body. Next diet myth that needs to die is the concept that eating after 6PM at night is somehow going to make you fat. Again, it comes down to where you are at in your daily caloric intake in relation to your maintenance levels. If you are 800 calories below your daily caloric maintenance intake, eating these calories at 7 or 8 or even 10PM is not going to adversely affect you in your pursuit of getting a ripped six pack. The fact of the matter is, you are still at or below your level to maintain your current level of body fat and simply shifting the time at which you consume these calories does not change their thermal effect. That said, eating your meals too infrequently throughout the day can wreak havoc on your blood sugar levels. Having wildly unstable levels of blood sugar can lead to severe alterations in mood, focus and most importantly cravings. When you allow your cravings to build too significantly, you often find yourself in a position where you will grab foods that don’t align themselves with your healthy eating approach needed to get ripped and stay ripped as you build muscle. The next popular eating and diet tip that is dispensed all too often these days is the concept that you cannot build muscle if you are following a vegan or vegetarian meal plan. Why? There are plenty of protein options available to those following a meat and dairy free meal plan including quinoa, chick peas, and even pea protein powders that enable vegans to get adequate protein without having to follow a meat based eating plan. The total amount of protein needed to build new muscle is still a hotly debated topic however it has been shown to vary from individual to individual and could be far less than what you may have been told previously.
