3 Signs that You're Magnesium Deficient

07:20
Please Subscribe for 3x Videos Per Week + Live Broadcasts! http://ThomasDeLauer.com 3 Signs that You're Magnesium Deficient Causes of Deficiency Depleted soil conditions mean that plants (and meat from animals that feed on these plants) are lower in magnesium. Use of chemicals like fluoride and chlorine in the water supply make magnesium less available in water since these chemicals can bind to magnesium Both a high sugar intake and elevated insulin levels (which can result from a high intake of refined carbs, including sugar) have been shown to increase the excretion of magnesium by the kidneys, by inhibiting tubular reabsorption (the same process that leads to calcium excretion) and by guzzling through the body’s magnesium reserves during sugar metabolism *Tubular reabsorption is the process by which solutes and water are removed from the tubular fluid and transported into the blood* Partly why people with diabetes or chronically high insulin tend to have higher magnesium requirements and more rapid magnesium depletion 3 Signs of Magnesium Deficiency - Cramps/Tight Muscles, Anxiety/Stress, Sleeplessness Cramps/Tight Muscles Magnesium directly interacts with your muscle tissue through a process called ion transportation. When magnesium contacts your cell membranes, it bonds with specific receptor sites that open up the cell membrane and allow other mineral ions to enter, such as calcium and potassium. These ions help regulate muscle contractions and might ease muscle tension Too much calcium: Calcium and magnesium have a partnership in the body - calcium causes muscles to contract and magnesium causes them to relax. If there is too much calcium in your body, which is common in the typical American diet, –there won’t be enough magnesium to balance out the calcium –so your muscles won’t be able to properly relax (3) Sleeplessness In order to fall asleep your body and brain need to relax Magnesium aids this process by activating the parasympathetic nervous system, the system responsible for getting you calm and relaxed Magnesium regulates neurotransmitters, which send signals throughout the nervous system and brain and regulates melatonin, which guides sleep-wake cycles in your body It also binds to gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptors and activates them. GABA is the neurotransmitter responsible for quieting down nerve activity A lack of magnesium can result in low GABA levels, and when GABA is low, your brain gets stuck in the “on” position and it becomes impossible to relax (4) Magnesium also plays a part in helping you achieve deep and restful sleep as well (6) Anxiety/Stress Increasing GABA not only promotes sleep, but also reduces anxiety and stress Low GABA is associated with numerous stress-related disorders including generalized anxiety disorder, panic attacks, and irritable bowel syndrome And, as mentioned, magnesium is important for binding and activating GABA receptors. Without adequate magnesium, we are unable to effectively activate GABA receptors and utilize GABA effectively Magnesium regulates cortisol A 2012 report, published in the Journal of Neuropharmacology, Magnesium deficiency caused an increase in the production of cortisol in the brains of the mice, specifically by activating the paraventricular hypothalamic nucleus, a part of the brain that controls responses to stress and anxiety Concluded: Magnesium calms your nervous system and prevents excessive cortisol by restricting its release and acting as a filter to prevent it from entering the brain (7) References 1) Magnesium — Health Professional Fact Sheet. Key Nutrients that Make Your Muscles Grow

Dr. Berg's Book (on amazon): https://www.amazon.com/Its-Not-Lose-W... Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. Dr. Berg talks about the key nutrients that make your muscles grow and prevent atrophy (the loss of muscle). You need potassium, trace minerals for the enzymes, not to mention fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E and K2) and vitamin B complex and C. The most common deficiencies are potassium and trace minerals. However, if you have insulin resistance, protein will not enter the cell as well because insulin controls the absorption of amino acids. But mostly, muscle loss is not a lack of dietary protein. High levels of cortisol from stress can also create a catabolic effect on the muscles and prevent the growing of muscles. INTERMITTENT FASTING: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwCRj... This Vitamin is Proven to Reduce Anxiety!

03:51
This Vitamin is Proven to Reduce Anxiety! Please SUBSCRIBE : http://bit.ly/2e9Su11 The Anxiety and Depression Association of America claims that anxiety disorders are the most common mental disorder in the U.S. as it affects over 40 million adults or 18% of the population. The feeling of anxiety is overwhelming and impedes the ability to finish even the simplest daily tasks at times. These disorders can be of several types: * Specific Phobias – These are intense fears of a certain situation or object, for instance, enclosed spaces, or heights. * Panic Disorder – This disorder is accompanied by sudden feelings of terror that appear repeatedly. * Generalized Anxiety Disorder – This disorder is manifested by excessive, unrealistic worries and constant tension, most often with no evident reason. * Social Anxiety Disorder – It is also known as social phobia, and involves an overwhelming worry and self-consciousness about common social situations. Save. Researchers still study the exact causes of anxiety, but believe that in many cases, it is caused by a set of factors, like environmental stress and brain changes. It has been found that severe or long-lasting stress alters the way nerve cells transmit information from one region of the brain to another. Also, studies have shown that people suffering anxiety have changes in certain brain structures that control memories related to strong emotions, and the disorder might also be a result of trauma. This disorder can be cured, and it is most commonly treated with prescription medication. Other people try alternative methods, like relaxation techniques, counseling, and dietary and lifestyle changes. Yet, recent research also suggests that anxiety patients also lack an important vitamin in their diet- niacin, or vitamin B3. It is a water-soluble B-complex vitamin, vital for the metabolism of energy, DNA repair, and synthesis of steroidal hormones. It relaxes the muscle tissue composing arteries, by vasodilation, a process of increasing their diameter. In this way, the blood flow is boosted, the blood pressure gets regulated, the HDL levels are increased, while the LDL levels are reduced, and the heart heath is thus improved. In the case of anxiety, this vitamin acts as an antidote to adrenaline, which is often over-produced. Researchers maintain that it treats anxiety and depression and improves the sleep patterns. Biochemical, Physiological and Molecular Aspects of Human Nutrition confirms that niacin boosts blood flow, eliminates excess adrenaline, lowers blood pressure, and regulates hormones, and thus relaxes the body, manages stress, and treats anxiety. The recommended daily intake of this vitamin depends on the gender and age, so make sure you consult your doctor before you start taking supplements. ================================================== vitamin d ,vitamin b12 ,vitamin e ,vitamin d deficiency ,vitamin c ,vitamin k ,vitamin a ,vitamin d3 ,vitamin b ,vitamin b6 ,vitamin d foods ,vitamin c supplement ,iron vitamin ,vitamin c benefits ,vitamin a deficiency ,vitamin a foods ,vitamin c fruits ,vitamin b6 benefits ,vitamin c deficiency ,vitamin c foods ,vitamin c serum ,anxiety disorder ,anxiety ,anxiety meaning ,anxiety symptoms ,anxiety medication ,anxiety attack ,signs of anxiety ,chest pain anxiety ,types of anxiety ,anxiety pills ,anxiety cures ,what causes anxiety ,supplements for anxiety ,anxiety relief ,relationship anxiety ,anxiety meds ,depression and anxiety ,anxiety treatment ,anxiety attack symptoms ,feeling anxious ,anxiety disorder symptoms ,meditation for anxiety https://youtu.be/GvemxycU0Dg Please SUBSCRIBE : http://bit.ly/2e9Su11

How Body Stress Affects You & Where It Accumulates!

Get Dr. Berg’s Adrenal & Cortisol Relief: https://shop.drberg.com/adrenal-cortisol-regular THIS WAS FORMERLY CALLED “ADRENAL DAY FORMULA” Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into the cause-effect relationship of your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. Body Stress is the physical tension or residue of tightness or contraction that gets stuck in the body. But in reality, it's not something that is stuck. It is the body's reaction to stress that is stuck. The body experiences some overwhelming stress and reacts by tightening its muscles. This tightness then continues to stay tight long after the stress. This is an inappropriate body reaction. Body stress is a tightness that will not let go and relax. In other words, the body is stuck in guarding or protection mode. The body will continue to react to trauma and other stress long after the stress is gone. The body or brain has lost its control over the body part that is reacting to stress much like a house that blew a fuse. Sustained stress for a long time, overwhelming stress or a sudden shock or injury tends to create this chronic tension. Where does stress accumulate in the body?  Around the injury  Around the infection (sinus, throat, chest)  Around the heart  Around the gallbladder  Abdomen  Adrenal gland area (anterior and posterior)  Flight or fight area (in the mid-back)  Upper neck area to back of skull  Under the clavicle area  Areas of over strain (feet, back, etc.) Body Stress is form of body protection. The body is stopping motion so as to avoid getting hurt again. If you pull your muscle, the body will then, afterwards, protect the muscle by keeping it contracted or tight. Of course, this only has a short term benefit. There is no long term benefit. It's an inappropriate action because the danger is long gone. Acupressure is our tool of removing inappropriate body tension (stress). Chronic stress from multiple injuries, emotional upsets and losses, pregnancies or infections or even sustained environmental stress over time can accumulate in the body. Physical body stress can be measured through our testing. Over time, as stress accumulates, it can create all sorts of health problems including extra weight gain. The adrenal hormone called cortisol has as one of its functions to store fat in the belly and is triggered by stress. Are You Magnesium Deficient? How to Know & What to Do About It

03:57
If you are feeling tired, stressed and having difficulty sleeping, it’s very likely that you have a magnesium deficiency in your body. Before you ask your doctor for something to help you sleep, try adding magnesium to your diet. Symptoms such as muscle tension, irritation, and a general stiffness are all signs of a magnesium deficiency. That’s true because it’s responsible for more than 300 enzymatic reactions and is found in every tissue of our bodies — but especially in the bones, the muscles and the brain. Magnesium is a powerful mineral and works as a relaxant, so it can help you control your anxiety and improve your sleep. It helps cells produce energy, perform various chemical activities, stabilize membranes, and help relax muscles. To have an idea of the importance of magnesium take a look at the various symptoms that may prove that you don’t enough of it in your body: - Irritability - Insomnia - Anxiety - Noise sensitivity - Headaches - Migraines - Muscle cramps or spasms - Sore muscles - Tachycardia - Chronic fatigue - Constipation - High blood pressure - Serious PMS - Severe menstrual cramps - Difficulty swallowing - Acid reflux Men should have 400-420 mg and women should have 310-320 mg of magnesium in their diet every day. The most common way to get the required amount of magnesium is, without a doubt, to take supplements. However, it’s possible to follow dietary and lifestyle tips to avoid and combat a magnesium deficiency in the body. How do you stop the loss of magnesium? - Try to reduce the consumption of coffee, colas, salt, sugar and alcohol. They eliminate magnesium from the body; - Some remedies used to treat hypertension and some diuretics cause us to lose. So, check with your doctor if any medications may be the cause of a low magnesium count. How do you replenish magnesium through food? - Increase your intake of foods rich in magnesium such as almonds, cashews, buckwheat, walnuts, hazelnuts, corn, rye, tofu, rice, figs, dates, kale, shrimp, avocado, parsley, garlic and whole salt (like Himalayan salt or grey sea salt from Guerande). How do you take magnesium supplement? The body can’t break down a magnesium supplement when taken alone. You need to add other vitamins to it, like calcium, vitamin D, and vitamin K2. It’s necessary to keep the balance between these vitamins, because without a proper balance, your health can actually worsen rather than improve. An imbalanced increase in calcium and magnesium may lead to serious heart problems, for example. The best magnesium supplements are magnesium glycinate, magnesium chloride, magnesium sulfate, and magnesium citrate. However, don’t forget that any time you take a supplement, you should consult your doctor first, so that the results can be properly analyzed. Vitamin D deficiency: Symptoms could be triggered by low levels of this other mineral

02:37
Vitamin D plays an important part in the function of the body, regulating the amount of calcium your body needs to keep bones, teeth and muscles healthy. It primarily comes from sunlight, which means it’s easy to get during the summer months. But during the winter months, with shorter sunlight hours and people spending more time inside to keep warm, you can stand the risk of being vitamin D deficient.New research, published on Science Daily, has now suggested that vitamin D may not be metabolised without sufficient magnesium levels, meaning vitamin D remains stored and inactive. If vitamin D does this, your body is not benefiting from the essential vitamin.Magnesium deficiency can manifest itself in many ways, due to its key role in over 300 processes in the body.Symptoms of a magnesium deficiency include muscle twitches and cramps and can lead to more serious health problems such as osteoporosis and high blood pressure. So why is magnesium so essential, apart from helping our body absorb vitamin D? Good sources of vitamin D Wed, October 4, 2017 Vitamin D: The best supplement to take during cold winter months is vitamin D due to the lack of sunshine. Here are the best sources of the sunshine vitamin. Play slideshow Good sources of vitamin D Nutritionist and fitness instructor, Cassandra Barns said: “Magnesium is a mineral that many of us can be deficient in women and men, but it can be especially important for women.“Magnesium plays a role in breaking down excess hormones in the liver, supporting a healthy hormone balance. It’s associated with calming the nervous system, which can help us cope with stress, relieve anxiety and encourage better sleep.“It supports blood sugar balance to help prevent and control cravings. And magnesium also plays a role in bone strength, which becomes especially important from our 40s onwards.”So how can you increase your magnesium levels the natural way?Cassandra recommends trying where possible to add magnesium rich foods to your diet. These include buckwheat, sunflower seeds, fish and leafy green vegetables. She also recommends taking a magnesium supplement like KalmAssure Magnesium Powder by Natures Plus.A vitamin D deficiency can also be damaging to your health, but there are three foods you can add to your diet to prevent there symptoms.

How to Stop Leg Muscle Cramps

04:19
Legs seem to have a mind of their own. Who hasn’t been ready to slip off to dream world when suddenly your legs begin to contract and cramp? Strangely, they don’t seem to cramp during the day. These nocturnal cramps are common and can prevent a good night’s sleep. They can also generate pain in the feet, calves and thighs. Cramps last anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. Occasionally, they last for days. In today’s video, we’ll explore ways to prevent leg cramps. The 3 major causes of leg cramps are: - Lack of exercise - Dehydration - Poor blood flow Let’s look at a few ways to prevent leg cramps: Magnesium deficiency Magnesium is an all-purpose mineral and works wonders in alleviating leg cramps. To add magnesium to your diet, eat plenty of dark leafy greens, bananas and dates. Other magnesium-rich foods include pumpkin seeds, yogurt, and dark chocolate. Another way to add magnesium is to use its oil form. Simply massage on your legs before turning in for the night. Make Your Own Magnesium Oil Ingredients ½ cup Magnesium Chloride Flakes; ½ cup distilled water; Directions Pour water into a pan and bring to a boil; Add magnesium flakes; Stir continuously until they are dissolved; Remove from heat and cool; Pour mixture into a spray bottle; Apply 5 – 10 sprays to each leg one hour prior to bedtime. Get Your Daily Dose of Vitamin D If you are eating healthy and drinking enough water and still have leg cramps, you may have a Vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D is what prompts the body to properly absorb calcium. Without enough vitamin D, the calcium isn’t able to balance fluids in your body. One source of vitamin D is exposure to the sun. Another way is to eat seafood. Still one more way is to simply take a supplement. Stretching Exercises Performing a few slow and easy stretches can stimulate blood flow, which will then transport oxygen and vital nutrients throughout your muscles and body. Here’s an easy stretch: Find a small ledge/incline (think – vehicle gas pedal); Rest the ball of your foot on it and allow your heel to touch the floor; Slowly shift your weight forward (pressing the pedal); Hold this position for 2 seconds; Return to starting position and rest for 10 seconds; Repeat 6-8 times on each foot. This exercise should allow you to feel a good stretch. It can stretch calves, which is where most cramps originate. A note of caution; keep the incline low. Perhaps just stack one book on top of another. Otherwise, you will put too much pressure on your calves. Need Instant Relief from Cramps? Try this simple exercise: First, extend your cramped leg straight out in front of you and flex your ankles Point toes up, toward your knee Grab your toes for a good stretch Stand up straight and take a few slow steps to increase blood flow Massage your calves with your fingers, in a circular motion. Electrolyte Imbalance If you aren’t drinking enough water, you may have an electrolyte imbalance. Here’s an easy recipe to make your own effective electrolyte beverage. Ingredients 1 quart of water; 6 tsps sugar (or ¼ cup organic honey); ¼ to ½ tsp unionized sea salt; Juice from one lemon; 2 limes; Add a few cubes of ice and enjoy this drink daily. Supplements Worth Taking - Magnesium - in 3 minutes.

03:05
Poor dietary habits, pharmaceutical drug use, and nutrient-depleted growing soils are among the most common reasons why many people today are dangerously deficient in the mineral magnesium, a necessary nutrient for the proper function of virtually all systems of the body. The good news, though, is that incorporating more magnesium into your diet does not have to be an burdensome chore, and doing so could drastically improve your health in ways you never before imagined. As it turns out, magnesium deficiency is linked to causing all sorts of chronic health problems that, if left unaddressed, will eventually lead to even more serious health problems down the road. This is why it is important to eat plenty of magnesium-rich foods and take high-quality magnesium supplements regularly for optimal health. Here are six ways that magnesium can improve your health: Since magnesium is required by the body to properly digest foods, supplementing with it can help 1) alleviate gastrointestinal discomfort and disease. Magnesium acts as a coenzyme in the digestive tract, which means it helps break down food and assimilate nutrients into your body. Magnesium also aids in the production of hydrochloric acid in the stomach, as well as triggers the healthy production of bile in your liver. The fourth most abundant mineral in the body, magnesium is utilized as part of more than 300 essential metabolic reactions, one of which involves 2) regulating healthy blood sugar levels. Magnesium deficiency is directly linked to causing insulin resistance, which in turn can lead to diabetes and other chronic health conditions. Magnesium is also necessary for 3) maintaining a healthy heart, as the mineral aids in the proper transport of potassium, calcium, and other nutrient ions across cell membranes. According to a 2006 study published in the journal Modern Nutrition in Health and Disease, these nutrients help promote healthy nerve impulses, muscle contraction, and normal heart rhythm. The mainstream media is constantly talking about the importance of calcium for maintaining healthy bones, but a much more important mineral for 4) nurturing healthy bones is magnesium. In fact, roughly half of your body's magnesium supply is stored in your bones, and magnesium also acts as a co-factor with both calcium and vitamin D to maintain and strengthen your bone structure. Because of its strong elimination potential, magnesium is considered a 5) powerful detoxifier as well, especially since your body's "master antioxidant," glutathione, requires magnesium in order to function properly. Heavy metals, environmental chemicals, pesticides and herbicides, and various other toxins are greatly inhibited from taking hold inside the body when magnesium is present. Cancer rates have risen dramatically throughout the past century, and are expected to nearly double within the next few decades. But maintaining healthy magnesium levels in your body can 6) greatly decrease your risk of developing cancer. A study recently published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that for every 100-milligram (mg) increase in magnesium intake, a person's risk of developing colorectal cancer drops by about 13 percent. Some of the best food-based sources of natural magnesium include chlorophyll, seaweed, raw cacao, coriander leaf, dried pumpkin seeds, and almond butter. The Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University (OSU) has provided a helpful writeup on its website that includes a list of foods with high levels of natural magnesium: http://lpi.oregonstate.edu/infocenter/minerals/magnesium/ You can also supplement with a high-quality magnesium supplement such as Natural Vitality's "Calm" formula. Other types of magnesium include magnesium oxide, magnesium amino acid chelate, magnesium orotate, magnesium chloride, magnesium lactate, magnesium sulfate, magnesium carbonate, magnesium glycinate, magnesium malate, and magnesium taurate. garage workouts, home muscle building workouts, home fitness, natural home workout, supplement reviews, natural bodybuilding, advanced HIT, HST training, Vlogs, Burn fat fast, build muscle at home naturally, workout challenges busting exploiting myths.

What Happens to Your Body When You Start Eating Honey Every Day

09:06
Honey is the only product which contains all the necessary ingredients to keep you alive and healthy: vitamins, enzymes, minerals, and water. Today, we are exploring all of its benefits and healthy properties. Honey is sweet, made by bees, and Winnie-the-Pooh loves it. But do you also know that honey has existed for millions of years? That honey will never spoil if kept in an airtight container? We at Bright Side have been looking for quite some time for such a product, and it turned out to be natural honey. And we're definitely going to eat a spoonful of it every day from now on! TIMESTAMPS Clearer skin 0:51 Loss of excess weight 2:37 Lowered cholesterol level 3:44 Stronger heart 4:27 Better memory 5:08 Sounder sleep 6:03 Healthier stomach 6:28 Relieved nervous tension 7:14 Honey and garlic combo 7:44 SUMMARY Honey and garlic combo When combined with another natural remedy with strong antiseptic and healing properties — garlic — the power of honey will increase tenfold. Garlic-infused honey will boost your immune system and keep you in good health. You're going to need the following ingredients: • 3-4 heads of garlic • 1 cup raw honey • a small jar with a lid Separate the garlic heads into cloves, and remove their outer layers. Put them into the jar, and then pour honey over them. Remove bubbles if necessary. Cover the jar with a lid, and put it away to infuse for a few days. Take one spoonful a day on an empty stomach, and you will feel energized and healthy like never before. Hopefully, you are already running to your kitchen or the nearest store to start your honey-based treatment. But remember just one thing: like overindulging in anything else, eating too much honey can cause some serious problems. Maybe you have noticed that in all the recipes all you need is one or maximum two spoonfuls of honey. No wonder. If you eat more, it can dramatically increase your sugar level, cause allergy, or lead to putting on excess weight. Therefore, eat it moderately! In this video Dr. Angela Agrios, ND (A California Licensed Naturopathic Doctor) explains how to find the best multivitamins and understand potency levels. She discusses: • Centrum, a low potency multivitamin and probably not the most useful multivitamin to take. • That 100% RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) is really the absolute lowest amount of vitamins and minerals someone needs to take every day not develop a disease state; therefore, taking supplements at only 100% RDA levels isn't really doing much. • What we really want are multivitamin supplements that offer many times the RDA to ensure we get maximum amount of nutrition for repair and healing. • Thorne Extra Nutrients is a high potency multivitamin. • Liquid multivitamins are easier to take than pills, for many people. • Morning breakfast smoothies with rice or pea protein work well. • Fiber can be added to the multivitamin smoothie. • Flax oil can also go into a smoothie. • Most nutrients in a multivitamin are water-soluble. • Vitamin A: no more than 2,500 iu for pregnant women. • Don't take folic acid; rather, take folate acid in your multivitamin. • Milk Thistle is an herb that Dr. Angela Agrios, ND recommends for everyone because it helps promote liver health. • Vitamin A ought to be in the multivitamin, as should Vitamin D. • Vitamin C and Vitamin E are important and ought to be in multivitamin supplements. • There ought to be thousands of percentages of B Vitamins in the multivitamin supplement. • Zinc, copper and selenium need to be in the multivitamin, as should magnesium and calcium (but not too much calcium). • One great formula is Pharmax Four Pillars Vitamin A: Retinol Palmitate - 2500-5000iu (unless pregnant -- in that case less than 2500iu); Beta/mixed Carotenes - 5000-25,000iu Vit D (D3 - cholecalciferol) - 400-1000iu Vit C (ascorbic acid, ascorbate - 500-1000mg Vitamin E - 400iu -- 1000iu as d-alpha tocpherol or mixed tocopherols Vitamin K up to 1mg (caution if you are on blood thinning meds) Thiamin (B1)- 50mg Riboflavin (B2, R-5-P) - 10-50mg Niacin (B3, Niacinamide) - 100-200mg B5 (pantothenic acid) - 50-500mg B6 (pyridoxine, P-5-P) - 50-100mg Biotin - 100-1000mcg B12 (methylcobalamin) - 400-1000mg Folate (5-Methyl-tetrahydrofolate)400-1000mg Choline - 10-100mg Inositol - 10-100mg MINERALS Zinc - 15-45mg Copper - 1-2mg Selenium - 100-200mcg Chromium - 200-400mcg Magnesium - 250-500mg Manganese: 5-15mg Molybdenum: 25-100mcg Calcium: 250-500mg Potassium: 100mg Boron: 5mg Vanadium : 50-100mcg Silica: up to 25mg Iodine: 50-250mcg Iron: up to 30mg Interviewee: Dr. Angela Agrios, ND Palisades Natural Medicine 984 Monument Street, #201 Pacific Palisades, CA 90272 562-320-5147 http://www.drangelaagrios.com/ DrAgrios@Gmail.com Video Producer: Larry Cook http://www.thenaturalguide.com larry@thenaturalguide.com Videotaped at: Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy 15150 Sunset Blvd Pacific Palisades, CA 90272 310-454-1345 http://www.pharmaca.com Naturopathic Medicine Naturopathic Doctor Naturopath Holistic Doctor Angela Agrios Supplements health healthy Vitamin A B Vitamins Vitamin C Vitamin D Vitamin E Zinc multivitamin best multivitamin liquid multivitamin centrum multivitamin multivitamin comparison best multivitamin for men best multivitamin for women multivitamins for women

Ketogenic Diets, Carb Timing & Building Muscle w/ Dr. Tom Bilella

45:35
-----------------------------------------Lets Connect-------------------------------------- ➢ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/MikeMutzelMS ➢ Listen to the Audio in iTunes: http://highintensityhealth.com/itunes ➢ Instagram https://www.instagram.com/metabolic_mike 9:08 Dr. Tom’s Work with Professional Athletes: Dr. Tom was the team nutritionist for the New York Jets. He introduced nutrient timing, macronutrients, all organic foods, pulled out the soda and ice cream machines. He thinks it is more than a coincidence that the team did very well that year. He still works with a number of athletes, professional, collegiate, and high school, as a personal consultant and through his practice in New Jersey. 11:58 How Does He Use Nutrient Timing? Football players and other athletes are often not meeting their caloric needs. To build muscle, you need to consume more calories in a day than you burn. Dr. Tom believes in nutrient timing: energy phase, anabolic phase and growth phase. While you are working out, working your muscles, you are consuming a glucose electrolyte solution with branch chains and glutamine. You are almost recovering as you are training. It delays fatigue and increases performance. They start with a pre-exercise snack. Energy phase – fuel the muscle. Anabolic Phase – Individualize and fine tune carbs to protein ratio. You want to spike insulin, reduce cortisol; drive carbohydrates and protein into your muscle. Growth Phase is from workout to workout. 15:40 Which Carbs Should We Consume? Dr. Tom likes the more slow releasing carbohydrates, the super starch for athletes and for people looking for recovery. You can use dextrose, sugar or juice. Use a high quality protein. Whey protein has the quickest release and is usually best for recovery. This is to be consumed within a 30 minute post workout window. You need to quench the cortisol. Insulin is the number one anabolic hormone in the body. In order to build lean muscle mass, you need to spike insulin. If you are looking to lose weight, you use a different strategy. 17:39 Muscle Building Strategies for Women: Examine caloric and protein intake. Many times, increased protein is needed. Workouts should entail fewer and slower reps in a good cadence. He recommends a 4-4-4 program: four sets per body part, four work sets, and 4 seconds concentric/4 seconds eccentric. There needs to be enough time between workouts to have a full recovery. Each muscle group requires a different amount of time for recovery. Quads may take 6 to 7 days to fully recover. Biceps and triceps can recover in as little as 48 hours. High quality creatine should be part of women’s strategy as well. 21:58 The Importance of Time under Tension and Eccentric/Concentric: You will build more muscle on the release of a motion than the initial motion. A slow 4 second flexion and 4 second release of flexion eliminates the use of momentum and fully utilizes the muscle. If there is no locking at the top or bottom of the rep, it ensures pure tension on the muscle. Slow and controlled is the best way to break down muscle tissue. If you feed it, you will get a better anabolic response and that is hypertrophy. 23:36 Best Exercise Model for Health: Everything is individual. There is no perfect workout. There is no perfect exercise. There is no perfect food. The key is that you are dynamic in your training. 25:38 Switching Exercises: Vary how you work out muscle groups. When you hit a plateau with a muscle group, take a break for a few weeks or approach it using a different means. You need to make it variable for your nervous system and for your muscular adaptation system. Changes should be seen within 12 weeks. 26:29 Data Collection & Heart rate Monitors: Dr. Tom’s patients wear heart rate monitors and train in the proper zone for fat burning. He finds that data collection is great for keeping his patients motivated. He is also a functional medicine and nutrition practitioner. He does blood work, runs vitamin/mineral analysis, food sensitivity tests, and everyone gets a body composition test. It is a great way to track patient’s fat/muscle ratio. It helps with compliance. 31:09 The Successful Ketogenic Diet: In the ketogenic diet, you are shutting down the glucose and you teach your body to adapt to burning fat. It can be a lynchpin for people to start burning fat. The average person loses 18 to 22 pounds in 5 weeks. If you are over 50, it is a little slower. Dr. Tom uses the Transformation 360 program. The program uses real food, using nutrition packs of protein, carbs and nutrients between meals. It gets people on the right track for eating once the program is completed. .

Lemon Peel To Cure Joint Pain, Use This Recipe After Which Will Wake Up Without Pain !

05:12
Lemon Peel To Cure Joint Pain, Use This Recipe After Which Will Wake Up Without Pain ! - - - We used the lemon to make a lot of food. With it we marinate the meats, we give flavor to our salads, we quench the thirst in the summer or we give a fresh touch to our cakes. It is useful even to remove one or another stain. However, peeling and peeling, we may be wasting the best part. Almost half of the lemon’s nutrients are concentrated in its bark. The latest studies, recognize in their shell a wide range of nutrients (vitamins, minerals and fibers) much needed for our body. Let’s see in detail: Calcium: Each 100gr of lemon peel contains 134mg of calcium. Calcium has multiple functions in the body. It is involved in the processes of hormonal secretion, the contraction of muscles when performing some force and in the transmission of nerve impulses. Potassium: Each 100gr contains 160mg. Potassium allows the heart to function properly, reduces blood pressure and prevents heart disease. Also, along with sodium, calcium and chloride, it is responsible for conducting electricity in the body. Intervenes in the digestive process and in the contraction of muscles. Vitamin C: 100gr contains 129mg of vitamin C. This vitamin strengthens the immune system, helps to synthesize collagen and is an antioxidant that protects against radical damage. Fiber: Each 100gr contains 10.6 of fiber. It normalizes intestinal processes, provides satiety (so they help with weight loss) lowers cholesterol and regulates blood sugar. Lemon peel: an effective remedy for joint pains In the shell, lemon essential oil is concentrated, along with citronella, felandren, citric acid, malic acid, formic acid, hesperidin, among others that function as antibacterial, antiseptic and anti fungal. All these nutrients as a whole, act on the joints, helping the relaxation of blood vessels. In turn, they work as a body anti-inflammatory. Now that we know all of its properties and how beneficial it is for joints, let us know what is the best way to prepare an excellent natural remedy and make the most of its qualities. The reality is that we will not tolerate consuming the husks to tablespoons, we learn to realize the following natural topic. #1. Natural Remedy with Lemon Peel to Treat Joint Ailments: Ingredients: 2 tablespoonoil extra virgin olive oil, 2 Large lemons organic (this way we ensure that the shell does not contain chemicals, or are polished with any product), 10 eucalyptus leaves, an airtight container with a lid. Preparation: -Wash well lemons. Peel them away from the white skin beneath the bark. The white part we will not use it. -Place the shells in the bowl and pour the olive oil over them until completely covered. -Add the eucalyptus leaves. Check that the leaves are also immersed in the oil. -Take the bowl and let stand in a cool, dry place for two weeks. How to use: Once the indicated time has elapsed, the remedy is used directly on the pain. Moisten a clean gauze with a little of this oil and place it on the sore area. Cover the gauze with a bag, put on a scarf or something similar. The idea is that the lemon peel oil acts directly on the pain and that the joint is in permanent heat. It is necessary that this heat is not dispersed. Perform this treatment before going to sleep: this way the ointment will act all night while you sleep. #2. Infusion of lemon peels: We recommend you also try this infusion and get better results. Some benefits that you will get consuming it are: -Relieves muscle tension. -Fights bad breath. -It helps the digestive process: it produces less gas and deflates the intestines. -Relieves joint pain in legs and arms. It is a potent anti-inflammatory. -Strengthens the immune system. -Regulates blood pressure. It is very easy to prepare: Ingredients: 2 lemons, 1 liter of water, Endulzante choice. Preparation: - Peel the two lemons leaving the white skin attached to the fruit. - Then remove the seeds and squeeze them. - Place the liter of water and shells in a container. Take to the fire. - Once it starts to boil, leave it for 15 minutes and remove from the heat. - Add the juice of the lemons and sweeten it to taste. Drink this infusion twice daily, while you perform the treatment with the ointment and you will notice how your joints begin to strengthen again.

Magnesium Health Overview

03:34
Magnesium's hundreds of activities in the human body can be divided into five essential categories: 1. Magnesium is a cofactor assisting enzymes in catalyzing most chemical reactions in the body, including temperature regulation. 2. Magnesium produces and transports energy. 3. Magnesium is necessary for the synthesis of protein. 4. Magnesium helps to transmit nerve signals. 5. Magnesium helps to relax muscles. 1. COFACTOR IN CHEMICAL REACTIONS Enzymes are protein molecules that stimulate every chemical reaction in the body. Magnesium is required to make hundreds of these enzymes work and assists with thousands of others. 2. PRODUCING AND TRANSPORTING ENERGY Magnesium and the B-complex vitamins are excellent examples of energy nutrients, because they activate enzymes that control digestion, absorption, and the utilization of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. Because magnesium is involved with hundreds of enzymatic reactions throughout the body, magnesium deficiency can affect every aspect of life and cause a score of symptoms. Of the 325 magnesium-dependent enzymes, the most important enzyme reaction involves the creation of energy by activating adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the fundamental energy storage molecule of the body. ATP may be what the Chinese refer to as qi or life force. Magnesium is required for the body to produce and store energy. Without magnesium there is no energy, no movement, no life. It is that simple. 3. SYNTHESIZING PROTEIN Magnesium is used in synergy with dozens of other vitamins and minerals to create structural components of the body. Under the direction of magnesium, enzymes and nutrients modify the building blocks from food to create the body. Without magnesium, there is no body. RNA and DNA, which contain the genetic blueprints for the formation of all the protein molecules in the body, are also dependent on magnesium. 4. TRANSMITTING NERVE SIGNALS Magnesium permits a small amount of calcium to enter a nerve cell, just enough to allow electrical transmission along the nerves to and from the brain, then forces it back outside. Even our thoughts, via brain neurons, are dependent on magnesium. 5. RELAXING MUSCLES Calcium causes contraction in skeletal muscle fibers, and magnesium causes relaxation. When there is too much calcium and insufficient magnesium inside a cell, you can get sustained muscle contraction: twitches, spasms, and even convulsions. Smooth muscles directed by too much calcium and magnesium deficiency can tighten the bronchial tract, causing asthma; cause cramping in the uterus and painful periods; and cause spasms in blood vessels, resulting in hypertension.

Also, magnesium is a natural blood thinner, similar to aspirin, therefore, many scientists and researchers consider that it may help prevent strokes and heart attacks. Magnesium is also available in many different forms including multivitamin-mineral supplements and other dietary supplements. Magnesium supplements can help people who suffer from deficiency. One supplement which is usually used is magnesium glycinate.  Nevertheless, taking magnesium supplements is not currently recommended by health care specialists. In addition, a nutrition high in calcium, protein, or vitamin D will increase the need for this essential mineral. Thank you. Top 5 Warnings Signs of Magnesium Deficiency

02:09
Learn how to get more magnesium: http://truestressmanagement.com/more-magnesium/ Magnesium is one of the most important minerals in our bodies. It is essential for over three hundred enzyme-based processes in our bodies and it plays a crucial role in the body's detoxification process. This important mineral helps to regulate the body’s cholesterol levels, assists in DNS and RNA repair, activates nerves and muscles, creates energy in the body and enhances the digestion of fats, carbohydrates and proteins. It also aids in the production of antioxidants such as glutathione and other enzymes and proteins. Magnesium deficiency is hard to detect, yet it affects four out of five Americans .Just one percent of the mineral is stored in the blood ,with the rest going to our bones and organs where it is utilized in a number of different biological functions. A blood test is therefore insufficient to establish if you have a magnesium deficiency.Luckily, our bodies are designed in such a manner that they send signals whenever we run low on a particular mineral or vitamin. Here are five common symptoms of magnesium deficiency: Sleep disorder Magnesium has been called 'natures tranquilizer' since it plays an instrumental role in the control of the chemicals in our brains that assist us to switch off. Scientific research indicates that even a slight deficiency can affect our ability to sleep. Anxiety When we experience chronic stress and anxiety, the result is magnesium depletion in the body. In addition, low magnesium levels makes you more reactive to stress- which therefore creates a vicious cycle. Muscle aches and cramps Magnesium plays a key role in muscle relaxation. So when you have a deficiency, this can cause muscle aches and involuntary muscle contractions that are manifested as painful spasms .This problem is aggravated by taking diuretics such as coffee or some blood pressure drugs that can deplete the body’s mineral stores. Headaches and migraines People who suffer from severe headaches and migraines have been found to have hyper-excitable or sensitive brains. Magnesium blocks the release of neurotransmitters such as glutamate, which is thought to be the main contributor to excessive brain excitability. Heartburn and acid reflux Magnesium helps the stomach sphincters (valves at the top and at the bottom) to relax. When our body is deficient in the mineral, the sphincters are unable to contain the food. The result is that food and acid can get pushed back to the esophagus, causing the painful and burning sensations that we know as heartburns or acid reflux.

4 Ways To Quickly Stop Leg Cramps & Foot Cramps With Natural Remedies

06:50
CALM MAGNESIUM: http://amzn.to/2iOkidv CUPRUM 30c: http://amzn.to/2iOkMAo STOP LEG AND FOOT CRAMPS: http://amzn.to/2hDzMoV ULTIMA REPLENISHER: http://amzn.to/2ihrz8I Suffer no more! In this video I share four natural remedies I have personally used to quickly stop my own leg cramps and foot cramps, and they really work! If you suffer from leg cramps or foot cramps, watch this video to find out what you can do to stop those cramps almost as soon as they start! My leg and foot cramps started to appear many, many years ago. My only remedy at the time was to rub them out or walk them out, and that could take a long time. All the while I was in pain. A lot of pain! My right foot especially would cramp up, even when driving, and that would force me to immediately stop the car, get out, and walk around until it stopped. Horrible! Of course, the cramps happened at night as well, like they do with a lot of people. Then, I visited a naturopathic doctor (Dr. Angela Agrios, ND) and not only learned about some of the causes, but also some remedies that would help stop the pain, almost immediately. Leg cramps and foot cramps can be caused by many things but a few common are poor circulation, lack of electrolytes (minerals) and cold feet. I discovered that I had really poor circulation, and so that certainly contributed to the issue. I would later find out that exercising depletes the body of electrolytes (minerals), especially magnesium, potassium and calcium. So does sitting in a hot sauna or steam room because lots of perspiring will deplete the body of electrolytes. Of course, rigorous exercise also causes perspiration. It just so happens that if you can get electrolytes back into the body you can also stop the leg cramps and stop the foot cramps. Before I share the natural remedies for leg cramps and foot cramps, I want to emphasize that if you suffer from either of these cramps on any kind of regular basis, it would be in your best interest to visit a naturopathic doctor to find out why so that the cause can be treated. For example, I know for me it is due, in part, to poor circulation, and to that end, my doctor has worked with me extensively so that my circulation is much better now (naturally, of course). NATURAL REMEDIES FOR LEG CRAMPS & FOOT CRAMPS Cuprum 30c – A Homeopathic Remedy Cuprum is homeopathic copper, and it’ll stop most cramping within two minutes. Homeopathy is energy medicine and works at an energetic level on the body. If you have ever wondered about whether or not homeopathic remedies work, get a cramp, take Cuprum, and you’ll be a believer! I’ve used cuprum lots and lots of times, and it works amazingly well. Find Cuprum at your local health food store. I’ve used the 200c with success as well. Ultima Electrolyte Replenisher I’ve been using this brand of electrolyte replenisher for a few years now, and in fact, I drink it nearly every day. If I spend time at the sauna or have had a heavy workout, and get cramps after going to bed, I know that my electrolytes have been depleted and so I get up and take a couple scoops of this Ultima in water, along with the Cuprum. It really helps. You can find it at most health food stores. Their website: http://ultimareplenisher.com Calm Magnesium Magnesium helps to relax muscle, and from that point of view, also helps to relieve leg cramps and foot cramps. The Calm brand of magnesium is recommend by my doctor and I know that it quickly gets into the body. It helps make going to sleep easier, and will also help loosen stool, which is particularly good for people who have constipation issues. Calm magnesium is an excellent brand and I’ve been using it for many years. Their website: http://naturalvitality.com Stops Leg & Foot Cramps In About One Minute I recently found this remedy in a health food store and was intrigued by the product name and the claim, so I bought it to test it myself. I am happy to report, that it does, in fact, work! I have since talked with a worker at the health food store who said other customers have had great luck with this product as well. The ingredients of this product are just apple coder vinegar, ginger and garlic, which are all loaded with potassium. It’s not in all health food stores, so if you go to their website you can use their store locator to find it near you or purchase it online: http://www.stopslegcramps.com Produced by Larry Cook Author of The Beginner’s Guide to Natural Living http://www.thenaturalguide.com Find the book on Amazon: http://goo.gl/3ILiqS http://www.thenaturalguide.com/Quickly-Stop-Leg-and-Foot-Cramps-With-4-Natural-Remedies.html http://www.larrydcook.com how to stop leg cramps leg cramps at night foot cramps what causes leg cramps causes of leg cramps nighttime leg cramps foot cramps at night leg cramps treatment what causes foot cramps severe leg cramps

While many people simply rolled their eyes and finished their milk so they could get to the good part, The truth is that milk provides valuable nutrients that children need during their development.Healthy BonesIt is true that children need to drink milk to increase bone health, in order to improve proper growth. It is also true, however, that adults can benefit from drinking milk to help keep their bones strong, which will reduce the risk of developing osteoporosis. Again, this benefit comes from calcium found in milk, and your body needs vitamin D to absorb calcium.Vitamin DVitamin D really helps the body absorb calcium. Therefore, almost all milk produced in the United States has been fortified with 100 to 120 IU of Vitamin D. Vitamin D helps bone strength by promoting bone growth and reducing the risk of brittle bones. It also reduces inflammation and boosts immune function.WeightlossStudies have shown that women who drink milk daily are more likely to lose weight than women who do not drink milk. If you are looking for a healthy snack, or aperitif fulfillment, drink a glass of milk. It is also recommended that you have a glass during dinner or when eating fruit.Healthy teethEncouraging young children to drink milk will result in great dental health. Milk protects the enamel surface against acidic substances. Drinking milk for energy and good health with the help of children reduces the consumption of soft drinks, thus reducing the risk of decayed teeth and weak gums.Reduces stressThanks to the many vitamins and minerals found in milk, it can work as a stress reliever. After a long hard day at the office, sit down and have a glass of warm milk. This helps relieve muscle tension and soothe nerves.Improve vitamin intakeMilk contains vitamins and minerals to keep you fit, healthy and strong. These vitamins and minerals are good for sight, carbohydrates that increase energy and protein for repair and growth of the body.Relieve PMS symptomsMany women suffer from PMS symptoms. Milk has been shown to relax the body and reduce the negative effects women experience during their menstrual cycle.Energy BoosterMilk is great for many things, but did you know that it is also great to boost your energy? When you are struggling to get through the day and need some pick-me-up, reach for a glass of milk-free milk. You will feel revitalized in a short time.CalciumMilk is the best source of calcium for our body. Calcium protects our bodies from bone loss, migraine headaches, obesity in children and helps to lose unwanted fat. It is essential to get the recommended amount of daily calcium intake to maintain strong bones and health benefits and prevent future health risks due to lack of calcium.Improves metabolismDrinking water on an empty stomach can increase your metabolic rate by at least 24%. It is very important for those people who are on a strict diet. An increase in the metabolic rate means an improved digestive system. You will be able to follow your diet routine more easily if you digest more quickly. Drinking water immediately after awakening purifies the colon, making it easier to absorb nutrients.

It will optimize your mood, energy, concentration, motivation and training performance among many other benefits. But if you have a tough time getting to sleep at night (or if you wake up frequently throughout the night), not only will you miss out on these benefits, but you'll end up getting the exact opposite effects. Assuming you already have good sleeping habits in place, here are what I consider the 3 best bodybuilding sleep supplements to help sleep more deeply each night and fall asleep faster as well... The first is magnesium. This mineral is depleted from the body through sweating, and chronically low levels of magnesium can make it harder to fall asleep and stay asleep each night. Supplementing with 200-400mg of magnesium (either in the form of gluconate, citrate or diglycinate) can help to balance out your body's levels of this mineral and improve your sleep as a result. Magnesium is one of the top sleep supplements for athletes out there because it is such a common deficiency. The second bodybuilding sleep supplement on the list is lavender oil. Lavender oil reduces intrusive thoughts and eases anxiety which can make it easier for you to doze off. 80mg taken 30 minutes before bed is a good guideline. The final muscle building sleep aid that you may want to consider if melatonin. This a hormone that is released when it gets dark out and helps you fall asleep each night. The standard dose for melatonin supplements is 1-3mg per night. Start off on the bottom end of 1mg and gradually increase until you find the right amount for yourself. So there you have it, 3 sleep supplements that work. Give these bodybuilding sleep supplements a try and in combination with proper sleep habits you should wake up feeling more energized and refreshed for improved performance both in and out of the gym.

MAGNESIUM MINERALS IN FOODS - NATURAL MINERALS FOODS - BENEFITS OF WELLNESS

06:04
MAGNESIUM MINERALS IN FOODS - NATURAL MINERALS FOODS - BENEFITS OF WELLNESS SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE VIDEOS https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJDgdO3wSVg2ZN2sAeI_dHg Magnesium is an important mineral in hundreds of different reactions and processes in the human body. It contributes to proper bone formation, maintaining muscle function, keeping body temperature in check, proper absorption of essential calcium, and much more. Make sure you’re getting enough by enjoying a healthy diet that’s rich in magnesium. Experts say that many people aren't eating enough foods with magnesium. Adults who consume less than the recommended amount of magnesium are more likely to have elevated inflammation markers. Inflammation, in turn, has been associated with major health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers. Also, low magnesium appears to be a risk factor for osteoporosis. There's some evidence that eating foods high in magnesium and other minerals can help prevent high blood pressure in people with prehypertension Intravenous or injected magnesium is used to treat other conditions, such as eclampsia during pregnancy and severe asthma attacks. Magnesium is also the main ingredient in many antacids and laxatives.Severe magnesium deficiencies are rare.
