12 Ways Your Body Tries To Tell You That Your Liver Is Being Damaged The liver is the largest solid organ in your body. It is located in the right upper quadrant of your abdomen and partly protected by the ribs. You need your liver for many important bodily functions and cannot live without your liver. For this reason, you should know the early signs of liver damage and take care of your liver as much as you possibly can. There are more than a hundred different kinds of diseases of the liver. Each has its own set of symptoms. Some of these diseases include alcoholic liver disease, hepatitis, fatty liver disease, and cirrhosis of the liver. The early signs of liver disease tend to be easily overlooked and are non-specific, related to any number of different conditions. Here are some common early signs. 1. Upset Stomach You are likely to get nausea and vomiting. They can mimic other diseases, such as migraines, food poisoning, vertigo, motion sickness, early pregnancy, depression and vomiting. It can mimic kidney problems as well. Those who suffer from early liver damage often feel persistently nauseous, because the liver has a decreased ability to rid the body of toxins. The nausea can also be due to ongoing metabolism and changes in digestion. If you have these symptoms for several days and don’t know why, seek the attention of your doctor. 2. Fatigue and Overall Weakness One of the early and obvious signs of liver damage is constantly feeling tired and weak. When the liver is not in great condition, the body must work harder and you will need more rest. This is due to an increase in toxins in the bloodstream that can’t be cleared out because the liver can’t get rid of the toxins properly. If the symptoms persist, especially with other early signs of liver damage, seek medical advice as soon as you can. 3. Lack of Appetite This happens due to a lack of production of bile that helps digest fat in the diet. When food isn’t properly digested, it can lead to a lack of appetite and a severe loss of weight. See your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms for a long period of time. 4. Digestion Problems The liver is important in digestion because it makes bile that helps the nutrients be better processed and absorbed by the small intestines. If the liver is failing, you can develop an increase in indigestion and diarrhea. If the bile is not produced properly, you can also experience irritable bowel syndrome, fatty food intolerance, alcohol intolerance, abdominal bloating, constipation and gallstones. If this becomes severe, you need to seek the medical attention of a doctor. 5. Alterations in the Color of Urine If you think you are drinking enough but still have a dark color of your urine, this may be one of the early signs of liver damage. The urine may look brown, amber, or orange in color because of elevated levels of bilirubin in the bloodstream. The bilirubin is elevated because the liver cannot get rid of the bilirubin and it is excreted through the kidneys. Dark urine may also be due to dehydration, side effects of taking antibiotics, taking B vitamin supplements, urinary tract infections, enzyme deficiencies or kidney abnormalities. The doctor can help sort out the cause of dark urine. 6. Changes in Stool Coloration Because the bile is not made enough by a malfunctioning liver, the color of the stool changes. Instead of being brown, it can become pale yellow, clay colored, or gray in appearance. What Is Vitamin B- Guide To B Vitamins The B vitamins are a class of water-soluble nutrients that play an important role in maintaining normal physiologic and metabolic functions. In all, there are eight individual members of the B family that are commonly referred to as B-complex. Although each B vitamin is unique, they have closely interrelated functions. The body does not store B vitamins well, and the need for them is increased by stress, smoking, use of alcohol and drugs, unhealthy dietary practices, shift work, illness, and demanding travel schedules. The B vitamins play important roles in energy production, the synthesis and repair of DNA and RNA, and carbohydrate, protein and fat metabolism. They may also help calm and maintain a healthy nervous system, and can be important in the maintenance of healthy skin and muscle tone. Vitamin B Food Sources Animal-derived foods and meat are major sources of several of the B vitamins, for example: poultry, liver, fish, shellfish, and eggs. Vitamin B12, for instance, is only found in animal products. Plant sources of B vitamins include whole grains, potatoes, beans, and lentils. Green leafy vegetables are particularly high in folate (vitamin B9), while biotin (vitamin B7) is found in small amounts in a wide variety of foods, including eggs, pork and leafy greens. Vitamin B Deficiency Even in developed countries it is possible to become deficient in one or more of the B vitamins, which can result in deficiency symptoms or disease. For example, a vitamin B6 deficiency can cause depression and swelling of the tongue, while a vitamin B12 deficiency can produce a type of anemia, fatigue, and memory and cognitive impairment. Symptoms of biotin deficiency, although rare, might include dry skin, brittle nails, hair loss, and fatigue. Too Much Vitamin B Although most B vitamins are eliminated in the urine, if taken in excess some can present problems. For example, high doses of niacin (vitamin B3) – more than 2-3 grams per day – is sometimes used to help lower cholesterol, yet can cause nausea, jaundice, and elevated liver enzymes. These typically disappear once niacin is discontinued. Too much pyridoxine (vitamin B6) can be toxic, resulting in numbness, tingling, and even nerve damage. The current recommended maximum daily intake for B6 is 100 mg. Findings from a recent study suggest that men who take high does of vitamin B6 or vitamin B12 may be at increased risk of lung cancer, especially those who smoke. Vitamin B Supplements If you choose to supplement, there is no reason not to take the whole complex of eight B vitamins in supplement form, but also no reason to take them apart from a daily multivitamin / multimineral supplement. Multivitamins commonly contain the full spectrum of B vitamins. There are also instances where taking additional individual B vitamin may be appropriate. For example, vitamin B12 may be useful for those who use stomach-acid controlling drugs, including H-2 blockers and proton-pump inhibitors, or who take Metformin to treat type 2 diabetes. When it comes to Vitamin B, we discuss the word “complex.” This simply means something with every B vitamin in it. How many B vitamins are there? Well, there are 8. Each one has different ways in which they help the body. The eight B vitamins are B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, and B12 - and they all have other names that you're probably more familiar with. B Vitamins need to be added daily because whatever the body doesn't use, gets flushed out in your urine. Most people get these vitamins in the food they eat. If you have food restrictions, whether you don't eat meat, dairy products, eggs, or whole grains for whatever reason, you may need to take supplements. There are specific B Vitamins that are beneficial to those with diabetes. B1 (thiamine) helps the body convert carbohydrates and fat into energy. In foods this is found in whole grains, mainly green veggis and livers. B2 (riboflavin) is required by the body for the metabolism of fats, carbohydrates, and proteins. This is found in many dairy products. B6 (Pyridoxine) aids in the protection of nerve cells. This is especially important to fight diabetic neuropathy. This is found in nuts, fish, salad greens and bananas. B12 (Cobalamin) is crucial to good blood health. This is mainly found in animal products. So is B complex good for diabetes? Yes it is. COLUMBUS, OHIO — Men who take high doses of vitamin B supplements have a higher risk for lung cancer and the association is greatest among male smokers, according to a new study. The study, published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, found male smokers taking the highest levels of vitamin B6 — around 11 times the recommended daily amount — had a 30 percent higher chance of getting lung cancer. Male smokers taking the highest levels of vitamin B12 — around 23 times the recommended daily amount — showed a 40 percent higher chance of getting lung cancer. Around 77,000 men and women from Washington state, aged 50 to 76, took part in the study over 10-year periods. The study found no increased risk of lung cancer in women, or with vitamin B9, also known as folate[c]. The researchers, from Ohio State University and the National Taiwan University, said most Americans get enough vitamin B in their diets, so there was no need to take supplements, the Independent reported. Some medicines, blackberries, beets, rhubarb, or blood in the urine can turn urine red-brown. Clarity. Urine is normally clear. Bacteria, blood, sperm, crystals, or mucus can make urine look cloudy. Odor. Urine does not smell very strong, but has a slightly "nutty" odor. Some diseases cause a change in the odor of urine. For example, an infection with E. coli bacteria can cause a bad odor, while diabetes or starvation can cause a sweet, fruity odor. Specific gravity. This checks the amount of substances in the urine. It also shows how well the kidneys balance the amount of water in urine. The higher the specific gravity, the more solid material is in the urine. When you drink a lot of fluid, your kidneys make urine with a high amount of water in it which has a low specific gravity. When you do not drink fluids, your kidneys make urine with a small amount of water in it which has a high specific gravity. pH. The pH is a measure of how acidic or alkaline (basic) the urine is. A urine pH of 4 is strongly acidic, 7 is neutral (neither acidic nor alkaline), and 9 is strongly alkaline. Sometimes the pH of urine is affected by certain treatments. For example, your doctor may instruct you how to keep your urine either acidic or alkaline to prevent some types of kidney stones from forming. Protein. Protein is normally not found in the urine. Fever, hard exercise, pregnancy, and some diseases, especially kidney disease, may cause protein to be in the urine. Glucose. Glucose is the type of sugar found in blood. Normally there is very little or no glucose in urine. When the blood sugar level is very high, as in uncontrolled diabetes, the sugar spills over into the urine. Glucose can also be found in urine when the kidneys are damaged or diseased. Nitrites. Bacteria that cause a urinary tract infection (UTI) make an enzyme that changes urinary nitrates to nitrites. Nitrites in urine show a UTI is present. Leukocyte esterase (WBC esterase). Leukocyte esterase shows leukocytes (white blood cells [WBCs]) in the urine. WBCs in the urine may mean a UTI is present. Ketones. When fat is broken down for energy, the body makes substances called ketones (or ketone bodies). These are passed in the urine. Large amounts of ketones in the urine may mean a very serious condition, diabetic ketoacidosis, is present. A diet low in sugars and starches (carbohydrates), starvation, or severe vomiting may also cause ketones to be in the urine.

Discover if vitamin b is good for candida overgrowth or candida diet. Can vitamin b's help against candida? Greetings. Eric Bakker, naturopath from New Zealand, author of Candida Crusher and formulator of the Canxida range of supplements. I've got a question here from a man called Ed Forman. Ed Forman is in Atlanta, Georgia. And Ed is asking a question, "Eric, are B vitamins good for Candida?" Ed, B vitamins are very good for Candida. Let's talk a little bit about B vitamins in general and their importance on health. There are, I think, seven different types of B vitamins. B vitamins are critical for health because they perform an incredible amount of functions in the body. We haven't really got time in this video to explain all of the effects on the different individual B vitamins, but they all have very specific effects and combined effects on the human health. B vitamins are produced a lot. They can be produced by your healthy gut bacteria. Healthy gut bacteria produce folate and B vitamins in abundance. And this is one of the reasons why many people who've got very poor gut function are very tired. Because one of the primary roles for a lot of the B vitamins is to help turn carbohydrates into energy or to produce energy. When I look at my chart above my computer, I've got a liver detoxification supportive pathway here. Both of the phases of the liver detoxification, particularly the first phase that's activated by enzymes, is very dependent on B2, B3, B6, B12, and folate. All of these I just mentioned here can be produced by gut bacteria. So if you've got beneficial bacteria there in abundance, you'll have plenty of B vitamins. You'll have good liver detoxification pathways. Another very important aspect of B vitamins is energy production. Because a lot of the Bs are involved in reactions called NADP and NADPH. These are specific energy pathways in the three different systems that are available to the body to make energy. So you can't make energy if you haven't got enough B vitamins. You're going to be increasingly tired. I've got another pathway above my computer here called the steroid/hormone pathway. Now, most hormones, in fact, require B6. So B6 or pyridoxine is a very important vitamin to make sure that hormones work properly. In fact, the body can't function well at all with a very low B count. You can ingest B vitamins through your diet. There are many different kinds of foods that contain B vitamins, but more importantly with healthy gut bacteria, you will have ample B vitamins. There was some research that was done at the Monash University in Australia by a bunch of researchers showing that B vitamins, in fact, can switch on many different aspects of immune function and dampen down other aspects. B vitamins work almost like the steroid hormone, cortisol, that the adrenals make. B vitamins have been shown to actually regulate immune function. And, again, this is another reason why people with poor gut function and bad Candida are going to have a lot of problems with their immune system. It's really a Catch 22. If you've got Candida and you've got poor levels of beneficial bacteria, you can't produce enough B vitamins. And, therefore, you won't have a good immune function to counter the Candida. There is certainly a link there. To build up sufficient levels of stomach acid, you need to have B vitamins and zinc. Zinc in particular. And many people with Candida have got poor gut function. They've got poor hydrochloric acid levels in their stomach, so they're really handicapped right from the start. And when you've got poor HCL levels, you're not going to be able to break protein down properly, so you're not going to get amino acids. You're not going to get good hormone levels in the body. You're not going to be able to absorb magnesium, calcium, zinc, many other different trace elements in vitamins and minerals. It's very important to get that gut function working properly. My main focus when I consult with patients and I've got patients now in about 70 countries around the world on Skype and on Face Time. But the main thing I try to do with them upfront is to improve their gut function. Because if I can do that, I can turn their health right around. And also, a powerful gut function is a good ally in terms of getting rid of a yeast infection. So just to answer your question there, Ed, B vitamins are very good for Candida. And there are different kinds of B vitamin supplements that you can take, but you need to take them in a balanced amount and you need to get B vitamins from the right kind of source. Part 2 Passing a Urine Test 1. Never try to cover up or dilute your sample. Most household items, like bleach, salt, and vinegar, will change the pH of your urine. But this will make it extremely obvious that you have messed with your sample. Adding water will also raise red flags by changing the color or temperature of your urine. If the sample is clear or it is lukewarm, it will be rejected right away. 2. Drinking bleach will NOT purify your urine. Bleach will corrode your mouth, throat, and stomach. It could even kill you. And it will not mask your sample. False advertising on products that say your test will come up negative when you add the substance to your urine do not work either. 3. Drink a lot of water starting 24 hours before you take the test. If you increase your intake of liquids, you will be able to dilute the test sample a little bit. This does not work very well if you are a heavy user. But it might work if you have only used drugs a few times. No special drink will help to flush your system any better than water. 4. If you take some vitamin B pills the day before your test, it will make your urine turn yellow. If your urine is too clear, test evaluators will become very suspicious. 5. Try to urinate as much as you can before the test. This will push drug metabolites out of your body. Just drink a lot of water the morning of the test and make an effort to pee a lot before you take the test. 6. Boost your fluid output by using a diuretic. The diuretic will stimulate urination and it will flush out your system. Diuretics include coffee, tea, and cranberry juice. 7. Drug metabolites build up in your body while you sleep. The first stream of the day has a higher concentration. Urinate before you have to take the sample. And do not forget to drink plenty of water so your urine will be more diluted. 8. If nobody is watching you, pee in the toilet first and then in the sample cup. Your first urine stream contains more metabolites. 9. Consider using synthetic urine in place of your own. You can buy fake urine online or at a smoke shop. The trick is to keep the sample at the proper temperature for the test (around 91 to 97 F). Then you have to smuggle it into the testing area. Kits containing fake urine and the equipment needed to keep it at the right temperature can be bought online. Synthetic urine needs to have a smell. Scentless urine is a give away to test evaluators. 10. You can also try using a donor. You have to be careful because you never know what might show up in that person's urine. You can test it yourself by using a test strip. You can buy a test strip at smoke shops and most drugstores. Make sure you use the sample within 48 hours.
