Today, you’re going to learn an excellent recipe for stomach issues, like heartburn, reflux, and gastric and ulcer pains. It’s key ingredient is sweet potato. Those that have used this recipe will guarantee you that it’s the best natural remedy for these kinds of problems. Gastritis is an irritation of the stomach lining. The most common symptoms associated with gastritis are pain and heartburn. If you don’t take care of yourself, your symptoms can worsen, and you can even experience bleeding in your digestive tract. But, if you suffer from this problem, don't worry, the cure for gastritis and other stomach ailments can be found in nature. The proof is in the recipe that you’ll learn now. Ingredients 1 medium sweet potato 600 ml of filtered water Instructions Peel and cut the sweet potato, placing the pieces in a bowl with a little water so they don't change colors. Put the pieces of sweet potato in the blender with 600 ml of water. Blend well. Strain the mixture (with a cloth or kitchen strainer). Using clean hands make sure that you strain the mixture completely—all of the liquid should be in the bowl. Allow it to sit for two hours. Now you’ve got the liquid and at the bottom of the bowl, the solid contents—that is the pulp of the sweet potato. Pour out the liquid so that you’ve got only the pulp that’s at the bottom of the bowl. If you’re doing this on a bright, sunny day, let the pulp dry in the sun. If not, put it in the pantry so it will dry. If you choose the second option, it will take a little longer to dry out. Whenever it’s completely dry, break it up, mixing it well and put it in a clean, dry glass jar to sit. How do you use it? It’s easy. After it’s completely dry, dissolve a teaspoon of sweet potato powder in 200 ml of water. Stir it well. Drink a cup of it before breakfast in the morning, before lunch, and one more after dinner. Why don't drugs like aciphex, prilosec, nexium, or protonix work for me? I get this question alot in my medical practice. The answer is these drugs are perfect if you over produce Hydrochloric acid. However, Rarely do I come across a patient who truly over produces HCL. Most of the time their Acid reflux or Gastroesophageal reflux is caused by something else: Diet, weight, overeating, or LOW production of hydrochloric acid. Yes, Acid reflux can be caused by LOW PRODUCTION of HCl, you didn't read that wrong. Taking proton pump inhibitors (PPI's) like aciphex, prilosec, nexium, or protonix is perfect if you happen to be one of those few people who over produce hydrochloric acid. But if that's not you, well, you'll be asking yourself and your doctor "Why don't these drugs work for me?" A peptic ulcer is a hole in the gut lining of the stomach, duodenum, or esophagus. A peptic ulcer of the stomach is called a gastric ulcer; of the duodenum, a duodenal ulcer; and of the esophagus, an esophageal ulcer. An ulcer occurs when the lining of these organs is corroded by the acidic digestive juices which are secreted by the stomach cells. Peptic ulcer disease is common. For many years, excess acid was believed to be the major cause of ulcer disease. Accordingly, treatment emphasis was on neutralizing and inhibiting the secretion of stomach acid. While acid is still considered significant in ulcer formation, the leading cause of ulcer disease is currently believed to be infection of the stomach by a bacteria called "Helicobacter pyloricus" (H. pylori). Another major cause of ulcers is the chronic use of anti-inflammatory medications, commonly referred to as NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), including aspirin. Cigarette smoking is also an important cause of ulcer formation and ulcer treatment failure. H. pylori bacteria is very common, infecting more than a billion people worldwide. It is estimated that half of the United States population older than age 60 has been infected with H. pylori. Infection usually persists for many years, leading to ulcer disease in 10 % to 15% of those infected. H. pylori is found in more than 80% of patients with gastric and duodenal ulcers. While the mechanism of how H. pylori causes ulcers is not well understood, elimination of this bacteria by antibiotics has clearly been shown to heal ulcers and prevent ulcer recurrence. Complications Bleeding from the ulcer Perforation (hole) in the stomach Blockage in the stomach that prevents movement of stomach contents Complications can often be corrected by medication, endoscopy, or (in rare cases) with surgery.

How to Reduce Excess Stomach Acid Your stomach is full of naturally produced acid that helps break down food and protects the GI tract from infection. But, excess stomach acid can cause uncomfortable symptoms, pain, and even severe health problems. The most common symptom is heartburn (a.k.a. gastroesophageal reflux), which occurs when stomach acid leaks into the esophagus. Frequent heartburn suggests gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), which can damage the esophagus and throat. Reducing excess stomach acid is the best way to manage these problems. Seeking Medical Attention for GERD 1 See a doctor if necessary. If you make the lifestyle changes suggested above but see no change in symptoms, it's time to see a doctor. Long-term GERD can cause esophageal injury and is associated with other severe health problems. Prolonged inflammation and repeated injury can also increase the risk of developing esophageal cancer. Don't hesitate to seek medical treatment if lifestyle changes don't fix your stomach acid issues. 2 Ask your doctor for medication recommendations. Medical treatment for GERD is broken down according to severity of symptoms. Many of medications are available over-the-counter (OTC). You should still consult your doctor to ensure a proper treatment regimen. If he or she can write you a prescription for an OTC medication, you might even be able to get it covered by insurance. Follow the dosage and timing instructions carefully for each different drug to prevent potentially severe side effects. • For mild to moderate GERD: Take antacids as needed (Tums, Maalox) to neutralize acid if your symptoms occur once weekly or less. They provide relief within minutes, but only last for about one hour. Take surface agents (sucralfate/Carafate) to protect esophageal and stomach lining and promote healing. Take histamine 2 receptor antagonists (Zantac, Pepcid) to decrease acid secretion. • For severe or frequent (2 or more episodes per week) GERD: take proton pump inhibitors (omeprazole, lansoprazole, esomeprazole, pantoprazole, dexlansoprazole, rabeprazole) to prevent acid secretion in the stomach. Some of these are available OTC, and the standard dose is one pill daily for 8 weeks. Side effects include: bacterial infections and diarrhea, anemia and osteoporosis, and interactions with other medications. 3 Discuss the option of an endoscopy. In a screening upper endoscopy, doctors use a camera on a flexible tube to look at the throat, esophagus, and stomach. During the procedure, they might take biopsies to assess inflammation, check for H. pylori (a type of bacteria), and rule out cancer. Discuss whether your symptoms call for an endoscopy with your doctor. 4 Be open to surgery if your doctor recommends it. Rarely, GERD symptoms don't respond to any medications, in which case you may need surgery. One surgical approach (fundoplication) wraps the upper part of the stomach around the esophagus, then sews it in place to reinforce the esophageal opening. A second approach wraps a string of magnetized beads around the point where the esophagus meets the stomach. This closes the lower esophagus, but lets it expand when swallowing so food can get through. • Young people who will suffer from life-long GERD symptoms can also consider surgery.

Stomach ulcers are a type of peptic ulcer disease. Peptic ulcers are any ulcers that can affect both the small intestines and stomach. Stomach ulcers occur when the thick layer of mucus that is protecting your stomach from digestive juices is reduced. This allows the digestive acids to consume at the tissues that line the stomach, therefore causing an ulcer. Stomach ulcers may be easily cured, but can become severe without proper medical treatment. Signs of Stomach Ulcer are follows. 1. Back or Chest Pain. Pain from stomach ulcer can radiate to the back or chest. If the ulcer has penetrated through the bowel wall, the pain can become more longer in duration, severe and harder to alleviate. Ulcers can also cause perforation, where the lining of the stomach splits open, in which you may experience severe and sudden stomach pain that continually gets worse. You should go to the hospital, immediately. 2. Blood Vomit or Poop. Ulcers can bleed and may cause vomiting, in particular, vomiting of material that looks like coffee grounds or blood, according to Sophie Balzora, MD, gastroenterologist and assistant professor of medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center. The poop may also become black in color, which, can be indicative of digested blood. Both of these are signs that require urgent medical attention. 3. Heavy Abdomen. It is common as an ulcer develops to feel a sensation of fullness or heaviness in the belly, similar to the burdensome feeling you get after drinking lots of water. 4. Heartburn or Regurgitation. Due to the fact that the ulcer is being perpetually doused in acid, stomach pain can often be paired with regurgitation, that feeling of acid backing up into your throat and chronic heartburn. Other symptoms, such as burping, bloating or feeling permanently full, may also be experience. If taking OTC or over-the-counter antacid only relieves symptoms temporarily, or it strikes no matter what you eat, you may want to discuss this with your doctor. 5. Increased Indigestion. Stomach ulcer can cause terrible gas pain and indigestion, which usually means hiccupping and burping following meals. 6. Nausea. Because of an imbalance of digestive juices, you will likely feel mild to severe nausea with an ulcer, typically in the morning, on an empty stomach. 7. Stomach Pain. Stomach pain, is the most common stomach ulcer symptom is, which is typically a pain, dull and burning sensation in the mid-abdominal area. Ulcers are literally sores in the lining of the stomach or small bowel. The pain classically presents in relation to acid secretion in the intestines. The pain usually peaks between meals and at night time, when acid has been secreted into the stomach, and there is no food to act as a buffer. Taking antacids can temporarily relieve the pain, but it will keep coming back until the ulcer is treated. Further investigation with an upper endoscopy is not recommended unless the patient is refractory to medical therapy or a complication is suspected. But in most cases, relief of symptoms is achieved, and the reflux resolves spontaneously following delivery. The first strep in treating reflux during pregnancy involves lifestyle modifications. Recommendations are the same as for the non-pregnant patient (e.g., such as not eating within 3 hours of recumbency, and raising the head of the bed), but I will add that abstinence from alcohol and smoking should be particularly re-enforced. Lifestyle modifications provide sufficient relief in most women, but when symptoms remain, then antacids are recommended. Antacids containing calcium may provide additional benefit in preventing hypertension and pre-eclampsia, while antacids containing sodium bicarbonate or magnesium trisilicate should be avoided. When symptoms persist, then sucralfate is the next therapy recommended. It is poorly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and has not been shown to cause any teratogenicity. However, it has a short duration of action and limited efficacy. The next step beyond lifestyle modifications and the non-absorbable medications are Histamine2 receptor antagonists. Ranitidine, in particular, has proven efficacy in pregnancy, and has not been associated with an increase in congenital malformations or any other negative effects in pregnancy. Finally, we have the proton pump inhibitors. These are the most effective medications for gastroesophageal reflux and although there is less evidence than for the other medications, they are considered safe during pregnancy. Sept. 2018. Update on my continuing battle with Esophageal Spasms (ES), badchestpain. Esophageal Spasms occur with no warning, precursor or identifiable trigger as to why they happen. Mine have never appeared to be associated with eating or drinking cold beverages. I do not suffer from Acid Reflux Disease or Gerd. My doctors have had me use acid reducing prescription medications such as Nexium at double the daily dose with no apparent effect on the frequency or duration of the ES. I have also been prescribed Carafate Sucralose liquid, which also has had no impact on the ES. I have suffered for years with a gnawing feeling in my stomach at bedtime that I always identified as hunger pangs. I was told originally that it was Reflux or GERD, but my recent consultation with a bariatric surgeon has agreed with me and identified it as actual hunger. I began a low carb high protein diet in May, 2018 and the nighttime hunger pangs have been reduced to almost eliminated. I have also lost 18 lbs. My original video was posted to help those suffering with undiagnosed chest pain NON-CARDIAC related, to identify if they were experiencing Esophageal Spasms (ES). I also hope those in the medical profession will view this update and gain some insight in their understanding and diagnosis of those individuals trying to describe these attacks. My attacks were not caused by gall bladder, appendicitis, kidney stones, panic attacks, heart attack or heart related, although physicians removed my healthy gallbladder, appendix and did multiple heart work ups in trying to diagnose my painful attacks. I have also experienced ES while hooked up to an EEG in the hospital emergency room. My ES began one year before my gastric bypass Roux-n-y surgery, two weeks after I delivered my second child by VBAC. One month after giving birth, and she to the onset of the spasms, my gal bladder was removed. The spasms continued and my doctor prescribed Phenol barbital which didn't help. The Nitroglycerin Lingual Spray, dose is 3 metered sprays under the tongue every 15 minutes as needed to stop or control the spasms. I have had success with controlling an ES after onset greatly reducing its severity. Also, as seen in my first video, I have had ES that were not controlled by the Nitroglycerin spray, but had to run their course before they would stop. I am able to drink water if I want during an attack an swallow. The ES do not cause me to vomit. The Nitroglycerin Spray is manufactured by Perrigo and made in Ireland.

Here we see before and after images of a horses stomach with signs of ulcers and effectively treated with AbGard omeprazole paste. Omeprazole was the first acid pump inhibitor to be approved for use in humans, now it’s the approved treatment of stomach ulcers in horses. Omeprazole is a highly effective inhibitor of acid secretion in horses, creating an intra gastric environment allowing the ulcers to heal. Omeprazole improves ulcers and prevents their re occurrence, even during training. Also alleviates stomach pH throughout the 24 hours after dosing, allowing convenient once-a-day- dosing. Omeprazole inhibits the acid pump, so when receptors are activated, the acid pump does not initiate acid secretion. Omeprazole is the only medication approved for use in horses that acts directly on the acid pump, preventing acid secretion no matter what receptor is activated. With AbGard, horse owners can be confident that their horses are ulcer-free. Find out more about AbGard at www.abler.com

The tissue of your esophagus is not meant to handle the pH of your stomach acid, which is what causes the discomfort. Many of those who frequently suffer from heartburn has a condition called gastroesophageal reflux disorder (GERD). Luckily, you can take both immediate steps to alleviate current heartburn as well as long-term steps to reduce the frequency of symptoms. 1 Loosen your clothing after meals. While loosening your belt after a meal seems like a silly cliche, it can help in this case. Increased pressure on your abdomen and lower esophageal sphincter help push up the stomach acids that cause heartburn. Looser clothing, especially after big meals, will help relieve heartburn. 2 why does my stomach hurt when i lay on it. Sometimes heartburn symptoms are caused by plain old gravity. By lying down after a meal — when those stomach acids are most active — they can flow more easily toward your esophagus and get past your esophageal sphincter. Avoid lying down for 30 – 60 minutes after a meal. Generally avoid late meals as well since you should wait at least three hours after a meal before going to bed. 3 ph level of baking soda . If you prefer not to take medications, then you can often alleviate your heartburn with simple baking soda (sodium bicarbonate). Mix one teaspoon in a glass of water, and drink it after your meal or when signs of heartburn begin. Do not exceed five teaspoons of baking soda in a day without first talking to your doctor. 4 what to take for the flu over the counter (OTC) drugs for heartburn. You can choose from a wide array of OTC products that target heartburn. The three most common classes of these drugs are antacids, H2 blockers, and proton pump inhibitors. Antacids (products such as Tums) provide quick, short-term relief for heartburn by neutralizing your stomach acid. H2 blockers—ranitidine (Zantac) and famotidine (Pepcid)—slow the production of stomach acid. These products take up to an hour to work, but they work for a longer period of time. Proton pump inhibitors—omeprazole (Prilosec) and lansoprazole (Prevacid 24HR)—slow your body’s production of stomach acid even more. These products are generally used for heartburn that isn’t controlled by antacids or H2 blockers and that occurs more frequently than two days a week 5 sleep better bed wedge pillow . Sometimes people experience heartburn when they go to bed even after waiting several hours after dinner. If heartburn disrupts your ability to sleep, try slightly angling the head of your bed. By lying at a gentle slope instead of parallel to the ground, you can help alleviate heartburn symptoms. You can elevate the head of your bed by elevating the entire frame on one end, or you can simply put a wedge-like object between the boxspring and mattress. People report this method being more effective than just adding more pillows behind your head alone. By only using more pillows, you can strain your neck or simply roll off them in the night, defeating the purpose. 6 Go for a walk. While vigorous exercise after a meal can increase your risks of heartburn, some gentle physical activity can help alleviate symptoms. Try going for a walk or a calm bike ride when your symptoms start to see if the physical activity helps eliminate heartburn symptoms. Stress and anxiety can both make heartburn symptoms worse as well. Daily physical activity is a great way to combat stress, making it effective against heartburn 24 hours . 7 can you lose weight by eating less . Choosing large meals instead of moderate portions increases the risk of heartburn. With more and more food in your stomach, your stomach acids have a higher chance of passing into your esophagus. Opt for smaller servings to see if it decreases your occurrences of heartburn.

This animated video is an informative video that provides information regarding Upper Gastro-intestinal Endoscopy. An upper GI endoscopy procedure allows your doctor to view the mucus lining of the upper portion of your gastro-intestinal tract. This includes your oesophagus, stomach and duodenum. Upper endoscopy is used to evaluate symptoms of persistent upper abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, bleeding, or difficulty in swallowing. The procedure is performed using an endoscope which is a long thin flexible tube a light and a tiny video camera attached to the end. The camera transmits the image to a monitor. Uncomplicated upper endoscopy takes 10-20 minutes, your doctor will gently insert the endoscope through your mouth and then slowly and carefully move it down your oesophagus until it reaches your stomach. An endoscopy for stomach may also be necessary in some cases. Watch the endoscopy procedure video to learn more. Gastritis Rife Treatment - Healing Freaquencies | Pure Binaural Beats + White Noise - Sound Therapy by HealingBox Brainwaves (Binaural Sound Therapy) Gastritis is inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It may occur as a short episode or may be of a long duration. There may be no symptoms but, when symptoms are present, the most common is upper abdominal pain. Other possible symptoms include nausea and vomiting, bloating, loss of appetite and heartburn. Complications may include bleeding, stomach ulcers, and stomach tumors. When due to autoimmune problems, low red blood cells due to not enough vitamin B12 may occur, a condition known as pernicious anemia. Common causes include infection with Helicobacter pylori and use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Less common causes include alcohol, smoking, cocaine, severe illness, autoimmune problems, radiation therapy and Crohn's disease. Endoscopy, a type of X-ray known as an upper gastrointestinal series, blood tests, and stool tests may help with diagnosis. The symptoms of gastritis may be a presentation of a myocardial infarction. Other conditions with similar symptoms include inflammation of the pancreas, gallbladder problems, and peptic ulcer disease. Prevention is by avoiding things that cause the disease. Treatment includes medications such as antacids, H2 blockers, or proton pump inhibitors. During an acute attack drinking viscous lidocaine may help. If gastritis is due to NSAIDs these may be stopped. If H. pylori is present it may be treated with a combination of antibiotics such as amoxicillin and clarithromycin. For those with pernicious anemia, vitamin B12 supplements are recommended either by mouth or by injection. People are usually advised to avoid foods that bother them. We adopted Windsor from the humane society in July. He’s a 6 year old German Shepherd/Golden Retriever cross. He was owner surrender, and the only thing we know about his background is he was kept chained in a back yard. When he came in he had sores around his neck, and a bad ear infection. According to his old records that came with him, he had been treated for Lyme disease a few years previously. He seemed to have allergies too because under his arms and between his legs he’d lost a lot of hair, which has since grown back. We feed him premium grain free dog foods, rotating through different ones such as Taste of the Wild, Zignature, etc, and a mix of can and kibble. We also give him fish oil and a probiotic every day. Shortly after we got him, we noticed he was doing this swallowing thing. At first we thought it was reverse sneezing, but it started getting worse. We had a few night and weekend trips to emergency vet where he’s been x-rayed, and examined for anything he might be choking on. It starts pretty mildly like this with swallowing, gulping, and smacking his chops then he gets highly agitated and runs around licking the floor, walls, etc. and eventually there's a dry, hoarse cough. He gets really frantic. Our regular vet thought allergies this summer and we had him on Benadryl and a course of prednisone. She said when we got a hard frost we should see this behavior lessen if it was allergies and we could stop giving him Benadryl. But the past couple months (Nov, Dec) have gotten worse, and based on his symptoms, the vet is currently treating him for possible Helicobactor infection (month of amoxicillin, metronidazole, and sucralfate) as well as omeprazole. He's been on these meds for a week now, but last night he got a pretty severe flair-up and we took him to emergency vet. The vet there (who's seen us many times now related to this) said we’re doing everything right, but if it was acid reflux or ulcers from Helicobactor, the sulcrafate and Omeprazole (Prilosec) should be taking care of these symptoms, and it’s not. So he was wondering if there was something causing this that’s not typical. He did a fecal test for lung worm. He found biological rods, but they didn’t quite match the lung worm or other worm he was looking for. So he gave him a shot of ivermectin and a 6 day course of panacur (de-wormer). He also is having us start him on another course of prednisoe, and we’re to circle back with our regular vet come Monday. Windsor has been tested for worms before (always negative), and he’s had various other blood work done. If after a month of being treated for Helicobacter doesn’t work, they next step will be an endoscopy and some biopsies.

This video is my response to "Understand the principles of how ulcers can be managed clinically. Clinical management strategies for controlling ulcers will be identified and the rationale for their effectiveness will be understood. These include antacids, H2 receptor antagonists, acid pump inhibitors, H. pylori eradication and surgical approaches (the last in only the most intractable cases)" *notes - This is a less formal video than usual and is also a bit more "crude/simplistic" - please let me know what you think, better or worse? Also there is also a noisy bird in the background (quiet for hours until im making a video) NGP
