If you want to grow your business, you need a goal, a strategy and a way to review and monitor your progress. It’s a rhythm for success. That’s what I want to teach you today. Probably the easiest way to plan, schedule and manage your business growth… even if you’ve failed to follow through on every new productivity hack, system or planner you swore would be “the one”. No crazy fancy spreadsheets... just a simple paper and a pen and a few calendar entries with a simple game plan. Your business growth is waiting for you in this video. At a high level, the strategy looks like this... 1. Have a vision 2. Set a high-level 3 year plan 3. Define a detailed 12 month schedule 4. Review quarterly 5. Meet weekly 6. Connect daily In the video I dive deeper into each, and how to design and manage them for maximal “stickability” and momentum. But here’s the high level process… Start big picture then work your way down to higher fidelity of what’s planned for the near term. Leave me a comment with some of your big plans / outcomes for this year? What are you gunning for? What gets you excited!? Can’t wait to read your replies. Dan “big to small picture” Martell Don't forget to share this entrepreneurial advice with your friends, so they can learn too: https://youtu.be/Rjv0nNXJjKs ===================== ABOUT DAN MARTELL ===================== “You can only keep what you give away.” That’s the mantra that’s shaped Dan Martell from a struggling 20-something business owner in the Canadian Maritimes (which is waaay out east) to a successful startup founder who’s raised more than $3 million in venture funding and exited not one... not two... but three tech businesses: Clarity.fm, Spheric and Flowtown. You can only keep what you give away. That philosophy has led Dan to invest in 33+ early stage startups such as Udemy, Intercom, Unbounce and Foodspotting. It’s also helped him shape the future of Hootsuite as an advisor to the social media tour de force. An activator, a tech geek, an adrenaline junkie and, yes, a romantic (ask his wife Renee), Dan has recently turned his attention to teaching startups a fundamental, little-discussed lesson that directly impacts their growth: how to scale. One of the best exercises for you to do is make a list of companies or businesses that you go back to over and over and over again, and ask yourself why. On the left, list five companies you return to again and again, and on the right write the reason for doing so. For instance, on the left write, "I go to this restaurant at least once a week" and on the right write, "I go there because _____________." The thing that goes into the blank is generally one of these six reasons. Documenting Children's Learning

10:43
Documenting how children are learning is an important activity for early childhood professionals to engage in on a regular basis. In e-clip #10, Judy Harris Helm of Best Practices, Inc. discusses why documentation is so critical and identifies some of the different purposes of documentation. Two preschool teachers and one toddler teacher describe the various ways they document as well as how they use documentation to help achieve different goals. When adults engage in a variety of documentation practices, it can help them to assess learning, reflect on and adjust their teaching practices, support children to revisit their own learning, communicate with families, and advocate for their program. A Japanese Method to Develop Creativity in Kids

09:17
Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz For copyright matters please contact us at: welcome@brightside.me ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Japanese people are known for their intelligence, politeness, and wellness. Why is this nation so unique and different from the rest of the world? It seems we’ve found the answer – they have an incredibly cool education system and unique teaching methods! Watch till the end – there is a small but brilliant bonus for you. Let’s start with a unique Japanese method in the schools for developing creativity in kids. We believe that the whole world needs to adopt! It’s called “Nameless paints.” Japanese designers named Yusuke Imai and Ayami Moteki created an unusual set to teach kids colors and painting. This fantastic set won the 2012 Kokuyo Design Award. Let’s see how it works. “Nameless paints” includes ten tubes that don’t have color names such as “yellow,” “blue,” or “green.” Instead, there are only spots of a particular color or colors on each tube. As you can see, the spots are also different sizes. The designers’ aim is to change the way kids think and learn. They want children to understand what shade they will get if they mix certain colors. For instance, a child looks at the tube with two spots: pink and blue. He doesn’t know what color hides inside. He squeezes the tube and gets… purple color! So, as a result, the kid learns that the same amounts of pink and blue paints create purple. Here’s another example – a tube with a big blue spot and small pink one. It means if you mix a small amount of the pink color and a large amount of the blue color, you’ll get dark-blue color. Interesting, right? As you can see, each tube hides a particular color inside. Pink, yellow, blue, purple, red, dark green, dark blue, orange, light-green, and black. However, to get one of these shades, the child should think about which colors create it. As a result, they learn how to create new colors and how to mix them. It’s an easy and fun way to understand the color theory. Recent studies have shown that free thinking is an attribute that a person can acquire over time, and the schools play the most important part in developing creativity. Now, here’s the bonus – 10 brilliant features of the Japanese education system the whole world needs to adopt. The success of the Japanese culture is very simple: they put a lot of effort and time in the education system trying to make it not only useful but also fun. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brightside/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/brightgram/ 5-Minute Crafts Youtube: https://www.goo.gl/8JVmuC  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.brightside.me/

The Next Frontier Of Artificial Intelligence Is Here, And Its A Bit Eerie

05:11
Hello, welcome to NeoScribe. Using our imagination is easy. We can all close our eyes, and think of ice cream, or cake, or even better, cake and ice cream. But teaching AI to imagine things has been very difficult up until a few years ago, with the advent of Dueling Neural Networks, also known as Generative Adversarial Networks or GANS. GANs is the next frontier in Machine Learning and it involves using two Neural Networks with opposing objectives to train one another, resulting in mind-blowing results. The first network is the generator which is programmed to generate images from random noise, with the goal to fool the other network called the discriminator, which is programmed to detect whether images are real or fake. First, the discriminator network is trained on a dataset, commonly referred to a training set. An example would be showing the network many images of faces until they are able to recognize images of faces from other images. Once the discriminator network is trained, its pitted against the generator like a 2-player game. The generator produces an image from random noise, trying to fool the discriminator as mentioned before. Then the image, along with a stream of real images is sent to the discriminator which predicts the probabilities of the images being real or fake. Whenever the generator creates an image that the discriminator identifies as fake, it learns from the failure and generates more realistic images. Likewise, when the discriminator incorrectly identifies a fake image as real, it learns from it and becomes more accurate at authenticating. This process creates a rapid feedback loop until the network reaches a point of equilibrium, successfully completing the training phase. So, after the training phase is complete, you have a generator network capable of creating realistic images based on what it learned. Here are some images generated from a GAN project done by Nvidia where they trained the worked with a huge dataset of 30,000 images of real celebrity faces. Researchers taught the discriminator network how to identify real faces of celebrities, while the generator was programmed to create images of faces with the goal that they will be authenticated. Then the networks dueled each other off of very simple 4x4 resolution images of a few skin-colored pixels. Then the researchers gradually trained the networks, layer by layer, expanding to 8x8 resolution, then 16x16 all the way up to the 9th of 1024x1024 resolution. This process took over 30 hours involving the authentication of over 10 MILLION images. And by the time the training was complete, the generator network was able to produce these incredible images of fake people. Look at that, these aren’t real people, they’re essentially imagined by artificial intelligence! Now I want to turn our attention to a group of artist and researchers out of Paris called Obvious. Obvious applied GANs algorithms to teach generator networks how to produce images of fine art portraits. The group fed the system with a dataset of 15,000 portraits painted between the 14th and 20th century. After the training process, Obvious had the generator network produce an 11-portrait series designed to resemble a fictional family called the Belamys. Look at these creepy images that came out of the network’s model. I like this one the best, the network really captured the sorrow of living in the 1600’s without electricity, Wi-Fi and smart phones. And someone must have really, really liked this one called The Portrait of Edmond de Belamy because it was recently sold at Auction for $432,000! While these applications of GANs are amazing, it appears that researchers are just scratching the surface. Researchers are starting to use GANs to teach AI how to form images from text. They are exploring the possibilities of using GANs to generate drugs for previously incurable diseases. Or using them to generate new anti-cancer molecules. GANs have only been around for about 5 years when they were introduced by Ian Goodfellow in 2014. Think about 10 years from NOW, imagine what networks can IMAGINE then? Alright, that’s all I have, for now, I hope you enjoyed your journey, if you did, please leave a like and subscribe. I am NeoScribe and I’ll see you on the next journey. Teaching art or teaching to think like an artist? | Cindy Foley | TEDxColumbus

14:40
What is the purpose and value of Art education in the 21st Century? Foley makes the case the Art’s critical value is to develop learners that think like Artists which means learners who are creative, curious, that seek questions, develop ideas, and play. For that to happen society will need to stop the pervasive, problematic and cliché messaging that implies that creativity is somehow defined as artistic skill. This shift in perception will give educators the courage to teach for creativity, by focusing on three critical habits that artist employ, 1. Comfort with Ambiguity, 2. Idea Generation, and 3. Transdisciplinary Research. This change can make way for Center’s for Creativity in our schools and museums where ideas are king and curiosity reigns. Cindy Meyers Foley is the Executive Assistant Director and Director of Learning and Experience at the Columbus Museum of Art. Foley worked to reimagine the CMA as a 21st century institution that is transformative, active, and participatory. An institution that impacts the health and growth of the community by cultivating, celebrating and championing creativity. Foley envisioned and led the charge to open the 18,000 sq. ft. Center for Creativity in 2011. In 2013, the museum received the National Medal for Museums in recognition of this work. Foley guest edited and wrote chapters for Intentionality and the Twenty-First-Century Museum, for the summer 2014 Journal of Museum Education. In 2012, Foley received the Greater Columbus Arts Council Community Arts Partnership award for Arts Educator. She was a keynote speaker for the OAEA (Ohio Art Education Association) 2012 Conference. She is on the Faculty of Harvard University’s Future of Learning Summer Institute. Foley is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and The Ohio State University. Prior to joining the Museum, she was with the Institute of Contemporary Art at the Maine College of Art, the Portland Museum of Art, and the Wexner Center for the Arts. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. What is EDUCATION POLICY? What does EDUCATION POLICY mean? EDUCATION POLICY meaning & explanation

02:43
What is EDUCATION POLICY? What does EDUCATION POLICY mean? EDUCATION POLICY meaning - EDUCATION POLICY definition - EDUCATION POLICY explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. Education policy are the principles and government policy-making in the educational sphere, as well as the collection of laws and rules that govern the operation of education systems. Education occurs in many forms for many purposes through many institutions. Examples include early childhood education, kindergarten through to 12th grade, two and four year colleges or universities, graduate and professional education, adult education and job training. Therefore, education policy can directly affect the education people engage in at all ages. Examples of areas subject to debate in education policy, specifically from the field of schools, include school size, class size, school choice, school privatization, tracking, teacher education and certification, teacher pay, teaching methods, curricular content, graduation requirements, school infrastructure investment, and the values that schools are expected to uphold and model. Issues in education policy also address problems within higher education. The Pell Institute analyzes the barriers experienced by teachers and students within community colleges and universities. These issues involve undocumented students, sex education, and federal grant aides. Education policy analysis is the scholarly study of education policy. It seeks to answer questions about the purpose of education, the objectives (societal and personal) that it is designed to attain, the methods for attaining them and the tools for measuring their success or failure. Research intended to inform education policy is carried out in a wide variety of institutions and in many academic disciplines. Important researchers are affiliated with departments of psychology, economics, sociology, and human development, in addition to schools and departments of education or public policy. Examples of education policy analysis may be found in such academic journals as Education Policy Analysis Archives and in university policy centers such as the National Education Policy Center housed at the University of Colorado Boulder University of Colorado Boulder.

ETNM has adopted a Roma Community in Bulgaria: All donations, (unless otherwise specified) are used to feed, clothe and educate the Roma children in the gypsy ghetto in Bulgaria, where 80% of the 36,000 residents are illiterate and living conditions are abysmal. This work is supported fully (and only) by donations from the viewers of this channel. What are we doing? 1) - We preach the gospel!. We hold a youth service every single day of the year. (Since July 2016)... Some of our youth now preach on a weekly rota, and the revival we are seeing among them is amazing!. We employ a part time youth pastor, and other support workers who are in church literally DAILY, assisting the spiritual growth of our youth. The children have been praying for the salvation of their familes, so in November 2017 we started adult services 4 times a week... since then, we have seen over 250 of our childrens adult family members turn to Jesus. 2) - We have built a church building (100 seater), and are in the process of completing a 300 seater as we have seen such growth. 3) - We have built a school (80% of children here do not attend school), and employ teaching and kitchen staff. The school is kitted out with kitchen, wetroom, prayer room and playroom 4) - We feed over 100 children (4 times a week currently) 5) - We have opened a drop in centre for people that have nowhere to wash, wash their clothes, and we distribute 2nd hand clothes to those who have none. 6) - We undertake building projects to help the families in the most desperate need. Those with up to a dozen children all living in 1 room with no water or toilet for example. To date we have installed 22 wetrooms and toilets and built, repaired or extended several dwellings. 7) - We want to lift people out of the worst living standards, so along with building toilets and homes, we hope to provide or replace wood burning stoves (so people can cook and keep warm in the freezing winters), beds (as many people sleep on the floor, or on pallets and old cupboard doors), and doors and windows, as many have none, or decade-old, ill fitting ones (vital to keep the cold, and the rats out). To date we have provided over 100 stoves, 300 beds and installed dozens of doors and windows. 8) - Our vision is to see REVIVAL in every Roma (gypsy) village, ghetto, and community in Bulgaria. We believe that God is going to raise up the youth to preach the gospel to their people. We will do everything we can to facilitate this vision, trains and support them, and build churches across the nation. - Currently our young people have preached in 12 villages! Please feel free to get in touch... Please pray for us... Please support us as and when you can...

7 Habits of Highly Effective People - Self Improvement by Stephen Covey

14:09
Get this book: http://amzn.to/2jgxuwM The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, written by Stephen Covey, is a great book on self development and personal improvement. In this video, you will get a complete understanding of all the habits, including examples for each step. Some people have a problem understanding what Synergy is, so we define it along with give a couple examples. Another great tip in this video is the explanations of all types of relationships and the 5 forms of listening. This video is a summary of the book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People in animated book review format. 1) Be Proactive: Take responsibility and know you’re in charge 2) Start with the end in mind: Have an end goal 3) Put first things first: Do important and non-urgent things first 4) Think Win-Win: Find situations where everyone wins 5) Seek first to understand, then to be understood: Listen before you start talking 6) Synergize: 1 + 1 = 3 7)Sharpen the saw: Invest in yourself for the best ROI My favorite habit is to be proactive. For example, you may have been born into a socioeconomic lower-or-middle-class family, you may have been born into an abusive family, you may have been diagnosed with a terrible illness, but focusing on it will not change it. You know what you can control? This is the secret to being proactive, and in turn, becoming an effective person. You can control your work ethic. You can control how you treat people in your life. You can control if you put your seatbelt on or not.
