10 Important Reasons Why Eating Pork Is Bad For You! More Fecal Waste A pig farm with 5,000 animals produces as much fecal waste as a city of 50,000 people. In 1995, 25 million gallons of putrid hog urine and feces spilled into a North Carolina river, immediately killing between 10 and 14 million fish. Food Poisoning Food poisoning is common with eating pork. If the pork is undercooked, handled improperly or is contaminated during manufacturing, you can become sick from consuming the meat. Food poisoning from pork occurs whenever you ingest pork that is contaminated with an infectious organism, such as a parasite, virus, toxin or bacteria. Higher Toxins There are reasons that the meat of the pig becomes more saturated with toxins than many of its counterpart farm animals. The first reason has to do with the digestive system of a pig. A pig digests whatever it eats rather quickly, in up to about four hours. On the other hand, a cow takes a good 24 hours to digest what it’s eaten. During the digestive process, animals get rid of excess toxins as well as other components of the food eaten that could be dangerous to health. Since the pig’s digestive system operates rather basically, many of these toxins remain in its system to be stored in its more than adequate fatty tissues ready for our consumption. Risk of Heart Disease Pork bacon is very high in cholesterol, providing more than 80 milligrams for three 1-ounce slices. Center cut pork chops have nearly 70 milligrams of cholesterol per 100 grams, which is about 3.5 ounces. Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in Americans, and having high blood cholesterol drastically increases your risk. The simple act of eating a fat molecule will not cause it to be stored as body fat in your body. In fact, nutritional fats are a necessary part of a healthy diet plan, with fat making up a portion of the surrounding layer of nearly every cell in your body. Next diet myth that needs to die is the concept that eating after 6PM at night is somehow going to make you fat. Again, it comes down to where you are at in your daily caloric intake in relation to your maintenance levels. If you are 800 calories below your daily caloric maintenance intake, eating these calories at 7 or 8 or even 10PM is not going to adversely affect you in your pursuit of getting a ripped six pack. The fact of the matter is, you are still at or below your level to maintain your current level of body fat and simply shifting the time at which you consume these calories does not change their thermal effect. That said, eating your meals too infrequently throughout the day can wreak havoc on your blood sugar levels. Having wildly unstable levels of blood sugar can lead to severe alterations in mood, focus and most importantly cravings. When you allow your cravings to build too significantly, you often find yourself in a position where you will grab foods that don’t align themselves with your healthy eating approach needed to get ripped and stay ripped as you build muscle. The next popular eating and diet tip that is dispensed all too often these days is the concept that you cannot build muscle if you are following a vegan or vegetarian meal plan. Why? There are plenty of protein options available to those following a meat and dairy free meal plan including quinoa, chick peas, and even pea protein powders that enable vegans to get adequate protein without having to follow a meat based eating plan. Limit your intake and focus more on vegetable proteins and fish - especially wild-caught salmon. Eggs Eggs can be good or bad. All the cholesterol and fat is located in the egg YOLK, which is why most “experts” say you should only consume egg whites. However, most of the nutrients, antioxidants and half the essential amino acids (protein) are also found in the yolk. The problem is when you COOK the yolk - such as hard-boiled, scrambled and fried eggs. The heat oxidizes the egg and damages both the structure of the protein and fat. So the healthiest way to eat eggs is raw or lightly cooked, so the yolk is still runny. Don’t fry it with butter or vegetable fats. And make sure it’s organic, free-range eggs. Baked Foods/Carbs (Snacks Too) Baked foods such as muffins, cakes, breads, donuts, croissants, rolls, cookies, danishes, scones, pie, etc… The types of foods most people eat in the morning when they’re in a rush, or with their coffee or at work as a snack… These are all bad because they contain hydrogenated and saturated fats, as well as dairy. The American Heart Association (AHA) defines the following ranges of blood pressure (in mmHg): Systolic Diastolic Normal blood pressure 120 80 Prehypertension Between 120 and 139 Between 80 and 89 Stage 1 hypertension Between 140 and 159 Between 90 and 99 Stage 2 hypertension 160 100 Hypertensive crisis 180 110 If, when taking blood pressure, the reading shows a hypertensive crisis, the person should wait 2 or 3 minutes and then repeat the test. If the reading is the same or higher, this is a medical emergency. The person should seek immediate attention at the nearest hospital. Causes Blood pressure varies throughout the day. It is lower during sleep and higher on awakening. Occasionally having high blood pressure for a short time is a normal physiological response to many situations. Acute stress and intense exercise, for example, can briefly elevate blood pressure in a healthy person. For this reason, a diagnosis of hypertension normally requires several readings that show high blood pressure over time. However, a reading of 180 over 110 mmHg or higher could be a sign of a hypertensive crisis that warrants immediate medical attention. Risk factors A number of risk factors increase the chances of having hypertension. Age: Hypertension is more common in people aged over 60 years. With age, blood pressure can increase steadily as the arteries become stiffer and narrower due to plaque build-up. Ethnicity: Some ethnic groups are more prone to hypertension. Size and weight: Being overweight or obese is a key risk factor. Sex: The lifetime risk is the same for males and females, but men are more prone to hypertension at a younger age, while rates tend to be higher rate in women at older ages. Existing health conditions: Cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, and high cholesterol levels are predictors for hypertension, especially as people get older. Other contributing factors include: physical inactivity a salt-rich diet associated with processed and fatty foods low potassium in the diet alcohol and tobacco use certain diseases and medications A family history of high blood pressure and poorly managed stress also contribute

Pig A service animal is usually a dog that is trained to work and perform tasks to help a person with a disability. This can vary from mental to physical or psychiatric, and therapy and service animals help people stay calm during stressful times like in large crowds, or flying on an airplane. In 2014, a someone brought their therapy animal onto the plane with them and it didn’t go so well. 11. Boa Constrictor Before you freak out, it should be noted that this is one of the smaller breeds of Boa Constrictor. This red-tailed boa constrictor named Redrock rides around on his owners neck. Daniel Greene is an epileptic and the 5-foot snake alerts him 3 minutes before he is about to have a seizure. Daniel says that Redrock must detect an increase in his blood pressure or changes in his body and senses it. 10. Alpaca A reporter in New York has an alpaca named Sorpresa as her therapy animal, and she actually went around New York to various stores and random places to find out which of the stores would let her and Sorpresa in. 9. Duck It is proven that animals help alleviate loneliness, lower our blood pressure and reduce stress. And our furry friends come in all shapes and sizes! Meet Daniel Turducken Stinkerbutt, an actual Duck in the world that is also a registered emotional support animal. His owner is a woman named Carla Fitzgerald, who got Daniel back in 2012. He helped her get through a terrible accident she had been through. 8. Dalmatian Having a dog as an emotional support animal is the most common and most people don’t think of it as strange. After all, dogs are one of the most popular pets in the world and like I mentioned before, can be approved under the ADA guidelines. But in 2016, a woman found herself face to face with a really large Dalmatian that was serving as a therapy pet for a person on a plane. 7. Bonnet Macaque For lack of a better term, a Bonnet Macaque is an "Old World Monkey", and one that is actually pretty rare and hard to get. They're found in the southern part of India, and their distribution to other parts of the world is extremely limited because of the illegal pet trade. However Debby Rose is a founder of Wild Things Exotic Animal Orphanage and she cares for nearly 20 monkeys. 6. Pot Bellied Pig This particular pig, named Elvis, is a bit of a question mark in regards to whether he actually is a service animal or not. The owner, Alisha Doolittle, is wanting to use Elvis to as her service animal because she is blind. However, the city she lives in is fighting her because in their eyes, Elvis is a farm animal and nothing else. 5. Parrot It may seem a little strange, but a Parrot actually has a bit of an advantage on certain other therapy animals. Mainly because of its ability to communicate. Jim Eggers had an extreme case of Bipolar Disorder, he would get into a full-on rage and would want to hurt people. His parrot Sadie, was assigned to him, and was taught to speak certain phrases. 4. Squirrels Squirrels aren’t just cute critters running around! Ryan Boylan has a squirrel named Brutus who has been there for him since he was in a car accident in 2004 that left him with trauma. 3. Appaloosa Horse Humans and horses have been together for thousands of years, and we can have great bonds with them. But that being said, that doesn't mean you should take them all over the world with you, but for Cheryl Spencer, that's exactly what she does with her Appaloosa horse named Confetti. 2. Turkey One of the most famous emotional support animals of all time is a Turkey. This occurred when a woman brought the Turkey on board and claimed it as a "Therapy Pet". Naturally, people saw the Turkey and started to take pictures of it, which spread news of the bird all over the world. 1. Kangaroo To you, this might seem like an unbelievable thing, but it's true, there have been people who have gotten Kangaroos as service animals. And no, not all of them are in Australia. Diana Moyer is the proud owner of a young kangaroo in Wisconsin, but they were kicked out of a McDonald's because the animal didn't meet their "health and safety" rules.
