Greetings, Eric Bakker from New Zealand. Thanks for coming back and checking out our videos. We are going to today talk about molds allergy or mold sickness. I've had few people inquire about these over the time so I thought it's about time I made a few videos on mold. This is a topic that is quite of interest to me because in my twenties, I had quite a bad problem with mold and fungus due to an old house that I was living it at the time. It was quite an old, rundown house and what I didn't know back than is that the roof was leaking. This was a long time ago, back in the '80's. So when it rained, especially heavily, I would get up to one or two inches of water in the bedroom which I would have to bail out. And the walls would end up having a black kind of slimey mold high up towards the ceiling which I really didn't understand at the time was really bad for my health. So I started developing a lot of sickness, a lot of coughs, but especially a lot of skin itching and sneezing and rhinitis and hay fever and allergies. And eventually, I got a bad bronchitis and ended up on antibiotics which spiraled me into a Candida infection. So we are going to talk today about one of the signs and symptoms of the typical mold allergy or a mold sickness. So think about it basically like a kind of a yeast or fungus that actually lives in the environment, often on a wall, not always visible. Sometimes invisible, can be inside the wall, can be in the lining, it can be high up on the roof, it could be low down where the floor is but generally, if you get a ladder and you poke around and have a really good look, you often see exactly what I am talking about. You will see little particles of blue, green or black mold if you poke around and have a look. It could even be an insulation in the wall insulation or the ceiling insulation. It is estimated that about one in four houses in America have got some type of a leaky building syndrome. I would say the figure would be just as high if not more in New Zealand and other countries. So let's look at the symptoms. I've made a list here of different ones. Some of the common ones are fatigue and weakness, just feeling worn out, feeling tired, headaches and also photophobia or light sensitivity. So being inside and finding your lights quite bright, having to wear sunglasses. Poor concentration, poor memory, difficulty finding words sometimes, or tripping over your own words, thinking you are going out of your mind. I've seen this with some people. Stiffness, joint pain, shortness of breath, sinus congestion, itchiness in the throat or the palate, in the upper palate or back of the throat, almost like you want to put your hand in there and scratch so like an itchiness. Appetite can go up and down and the body temperature can be in a state of dysregulation as well. You can feel too hot or too cold. Occasionally, I've had patient who I thought had a thyroid dysfunction when in fact, they are suffering from mold sickness. Of course, we can get a lot of visual disturbances, sore eyes, itchy eyes, so you are rubbing your eyes. It could be blurry vision. There could be many different types of things like red eyes. Some people even get bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea or constipation over it. A crazy symptom I have noticed some people get is like static shocks where they feel like electric shocks in the body. Even that has been linked to mold illness. So, as you can see, this whole raft of signs and symptoms are potential so if you have any of those signs and symptoms, you may want to get your house checked out especially if you know you've got a mold problem. And that's what I am talking about in the next video on actually to detect if you have a mold problem or not. Thanks for watching the video. I appreciate it.

★ Like us on FACEBOOK: https://goo.gl/QmGQVT Reasons For Getting Skin Fungus And How To Prevent It We’ve all encountered skin fungus at some point in our lives, which is inevitable as fungi live almost everywhere. We have fungi that live normally on our skin, but in controlled numbers so we don’t even know they exist. However, they sometimes they reproduce in large numbers and cause athlete’s foot, ringworm, jock itch or yeast infections. They are not very dangerous but are very uncomfortable and annoying. Here we’ll give you some reasons for getting a skin fungus and some ways to prevent it. There are a lot of things that can cause fungal infections, such as sharing clothes and personal care products with a person that already has such an infection. People who are mostly at risk to get a fungal infection are : People who sweat heavily (as fungus grows on moist places) People that have a low immune system People who work close together with other people that might get infected, such as doctors, nurses, students etc. People who have been antibiotics or immunosuppressants over a longer period of time People or children who cannot restrain from urinating Fungus needs moisture in order to reproduce and thrive, so it is logical that the parts where it is likely to happen are the armpits, toes and feet, genital area and places where skin creases. You can get fungal infections through contact with an infected person or their skin cells, so always be careful when in public areas such as swimming pools and locker rooms. Also, never use things in those areas such as combs, towels etc. As we previously mentioned, dark and moist places are heaven for fungal growth. That’s why you always have to make sure that your skin is clean and dry throughout the day. Pay particular attention to wearing clean cotton underwear, keep your toes clean and dry and always dry out the skin under the breasts. Lower immune system means higher risk of getting a fungal infection. To boost your immune system, make sure that you are on a proper diet. Consume lots of vegetables and fruits as well as probiotic yoghurt. Fungus also feeds on sugar, so make sure you cut down on the cabs and turn to protein and healthy fats for energy. Also, make sure you’re well rested and hydrated. Fungal infections are highly transmissible. If you already have one, make sure that you will prevent it by spreading by avoiding scratching the affected area. Keep your skin clean and dry all the time. Use clean towels to wipe your skin and wash them regularly on higher temperature. Inform yourself of the symptoms of the different fungal infections. They may all be caused by fungus, but they differ by the area on which they appear and have different symptoms. For example, athlete’s foot affects the toes and between them by causing prickly red skin, sometimes even on the soles of the feet. Jock itch on the other hand, appears in the groin area, typically with teen boys and adult males who play sports and spend a lot of time in locker rooms. It is demonstrated by red scaly patches on the skin that feel sore. Ringworm infection is manifested as a small lifted red area, similar to a small blemish. It is prickly and becomes flaky very fast. It can appear on different parts of the body except for the scalp, feet and groin. Fungal infections are not life threatening and can be treated easily with anti fungal creams and powders without prescription of a doctor. However, it is highly advised that you seek a medical advice before you purchase or use anything, especially if you have a low immune system or are suffering from diabetes. 17 SIGNS OF MOLD ILLNESS AND HOW TO TELL IF YOU’RE AT RISK Mold is a common issue and it may also be present in your home and be the reason for numerous health issues. However, you need to know its symptoms and who are most prone to it, in order to treat the issue and avoid adverse effects. However, according to the conventional medicine, it is not a problem, and it, therefore, offers no proper treatment. Moreover, its symptoms are similar to the ones of other ailments, as they are nonspecific, and often attributed to other reasons. Yet, these are the most common signs of mold illness: Headache Fatigue, post-exercise malaise, and weakness Memory problems, focusing issues, executive function problems, brain fog Light sensitivity, blurred vision, red eyes Sinus problems, air hunger, cough, shortness of breath, asthma-like signs Vertigo Static “shocks” Weight gain despite sufficient effort (weight loss resistance) Tremors Muscle cramps, constant nerve pain, pain in the joints, aches without inflammatory arthritis, “ice pick” pain Persistent nerve pain Numbness and tingling Abdominal pain, diarrhea, appetite changes, nausea Night sweats or temperature regulation issues Excessive thirst Increased urination Metallic taste Regarding these symptoms, you can easily see why they are often confused with other diseases’ signs. Yet, the disastrous effects of mold have been scientifically studies for more than three decades. Namely, the mold is actually a combination of numerous types of fungi that grow in filaments and reproduce by creating tiny spores that sprout and fly away, and cannot be spotted by the naked eye. Mold thrives in warm, damp, and humid places. It may also appear, for instance, in Nevada and Arizona, in places with poor ventilation, floods, or water leaks, even if they are dry. Mold can appear in the showerhead, bathroom, poor ventilated rooms, it can attach to the furniture, books, pets, shoes, carpets, and papers. It is able to circulate in the air system as well. Therefore, it is advisable that you change HVAC filters on three months. Water-damaged buildings lead to the formation of a complex combination of contaminants present in the air and dust, creating a toxic chemical mixture. Also, mold forms toxic ingredients known as mycotoxins, which remain on spores and fragments of mold released into the air. Yet, note that mold illness is not caused by a single toxin, but the cause is more due to the water-damaged area or building itself. The newest review also found sinuses to be a common reason for persistent mold illness. Unfortunately, the reality is that half of the buildings we live in are water damaged, causing mold and mold illnesses to the ones which are more prone to it. Considering the fact that most of us spend a lot of time indoors, in our offices, or at home, we should all learn how to reduce these harmful influence. Namely, mold toxicity is classified in the big category of biotoxin illness, or Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS). Ritchie Shoemaker, MD, the author of 8 books on this issue, including Surviving Mold: Life in the Era of Dangerous Buildings, defines CIRS as follows: Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS) is “an acute and chronic, systemic inflammatory response acquired following exposure to the interior environment of a water-damaged building with resident toxigenic organisms, including, but not limited to fungi, bacteria, actinomycetes, and mycobacterium as well as inflammagens . . . . “ Dr. Shoemaker also comments that: “24 percent of people cannot make adequate antibody responses, and they’re the ones that comprise over 95 percent of people who have an illness from water-damaged buildings.” Hence, we will now explain the role of DNA and its impact on the susceptibility to mold illness. As stated by Dr. Shoemaker as well, around 24 percent of the population is genetically susceptible to mold toxicity, as they have an immune response gene (HLA-DR). Therefore, people with these genes have an increased risk of mold illness. This subgroup includes 95% of mold illness. Also, there is 2 percent more who are especially prone to it and have a “sicker quicker” variation of these genes. What’s more, if you are not vulnerable to mold illness, it still does not mean that you have zero chances to suffer from it. In the case of mold vulnerability, people cannot recognize specific toxins as toxins, like mold, and they get recirculated in the body. Consequently, toxins lead to a continuing inflammatory response. Mold illness from water-damaged buildings is a severe health issue, as it is a state of chronic inflammation due to a weakened immune system, and it does not heal on its own, provoking various illnesses if left untreated. The illness is built into the DNA and as soon as it is activated, symptoms and the inflammatory response may long. The diagnosis of CIRS requires the presence of the following criteria: Abnormalities documented by Visual Co

Eczema rash | 8 Root Causes Of Eczema Doctors Never Treat - skin rashes. Eczema includes medical conditions in which the skin is inflamed and irritated. The skin disorders cause symptoms like inflammation, dryness, redness, and scaling. Eczema is more common in babies and small children, and only 2-4% of all adults develop eczema at some point in their life. The outer layer of the skin becomes inflamed and damaged, which creates perfect conditions for irritation and sensitivity. Health experts have recognized acute and chronic symptoms: Inflamed skin, Itchiness, Blisters, Peeling, flaking skin, Cuts and cracks caused by dryness, Changes in skin color and texture, Burning caused by irritation, Main causes of eczema: Eczema is usually treated with creams and ointments, but the problem lies deep in the system. The treatment of eczema should start from the core of the problem. Treating the symptoms won’t do the trick, as they will soon come back, and you’ll have to start all over again. We give you some of the most common root causes of eczema: 1. Genes: Your genes carry information, and if you are predisposed to develop eczema, there’s no way to stop it. Mutated genes affect the production of filaggrin, a protein that protects the corneal skin layer. 2. Low sebum production: The skin dries due to insufficient production of natural oils. Genetic factors or poor immunity affect the production of serum. 3. Weak immune system: Low immune system can’t fight inflammation or ward of yeast and bacteria. Medication, autoimmune disorders, untreated infections, nutrient deficiencies, and weak intestinal function can affect the role of your immune system. 4. Allergies: Allergies trigger the release of antibodies and affect the immune response. Some foods, chemical exposure, harsh toxins, perfumes and soaps cause allergies. 5. Toxicity: Smoking and pollution leave traces of toxins in the body, and overtime these buildups manifest on the skin. Excessive use of antibiotics has a devastating effect on the immune system, and lead to toxicity. 6. Climate: People who live in cold countries or developed countries are more prone to eczema, due to dry and cold weather. Pollution and unhealthy dietary habits can also lead to the development of severe skin disorders. 7. Formula: Breastfeeding protects the baby from allergies, unlike formula-fed babies who are more prone to eczema. 8. Vaccines: Scientists are working on specific testing that would determine whether vaccines cause eczema. It may be just a coincidence, but the number of eczema sufferers has multiplied after the use of vaccines increased. This requires further research, and scientists will soon confirm the link between vaccines and eczema. Tips on how to treat eczema: Scratching can additionally worsen your problem, so try not to do it. Don’t peel dried skin either, as this may cause open sores and bacterial infections. Carefully pick your food. The same applies to skin care products and cleaning products, because some of the ingredients may cause allergies. http://www.newtoneer.com Molds are fungi that act as environmental decomposers that aid in the decomposition of plant matter such as trees and leaves and also decaying organic material. Molds produce mold spores that are constantly floating in the air that we breathe on a daily basis. In cases of people with sensitive allergies or a weak immune system, mold exposure can pose an immediate problem. Most mold exposure symptoms initially show up as possibly asthmatic symptoms or allergies. Most home owners aren't aware of mold growth in their homes and contribute their allergy symptoms to just simple dust allergies. This may be the case sometimes, but mold exposure is real and can be detrimental to one's health. Many times mold that's found in a home is superficially identified on the surface of an object such as a wall. Cleaning only removes the move from the surface, but underneath the growth is still occurring. As the mold grows and matures, spores are being released into the air within the home. This release of spores thus enhances the exposure to mold. Mold spores can be inhaled in the body, grow, and have adverse health effects on the host. Mold exposure is inevitable part and breathing in air that contains mold spores being released by mold is an inevitable part of life. There are three levels of mold exposure symptoms which are primary, secondary, and tertiary mold exposure symptoms. Primary mold spore exposure symptoms include: sneezing, coughing, watery and itchy eyes, headaches and irritated skin. These symptoms are common allergy symptoms that most people associate with hay fever. Just being unaware of mold exposure and mistaking these symptoms for common allergies can lead to more serious symptoms related to mold exposure. After an extensive period of time primary mold exposure symptoms can then escalate into secondary mold exposure symptoms. Secondary mold exposure symptoms may include but are not limited to: hair loss, breathing difficulties, diarrhea, chronic bronchitis, open sores on skin, short term memory loss, drastic weight loss, etc. These symptoms develop due to on and off exposure to mold for extended periods of time. Also secondary mold exposure symptoms are severe and can be extremely detrimental if not treated or monitored by a health professional. Secondary mold exposure symptoms can definitely worsen if a person remains in a mold contaminated area and not move or have proper remediation done. Tertiary mold exposure symptoms are the most severe symptoms that are a result of continual over-exposure to mold. Tertiary mold exposure symptoms include: going completely blind, brain damage, long term memory loss, cancer, and ultimately death. Elevated and recurrent exposure to mold can definitely cause these tertiary mold exposure symptoms and in due course, result in the death of a person. Mold knowledge is extremely important in preventing health complications due to mold exposure. http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkYSU56MpLc-_KoCLfskRNg? To listen to the MP3, please visit http://www.Highintensityhealth.com 13:17 Mold Sensitivity Genes: LabCorp and Quest are Dr. Carnahan’s favored labs for HLA-DR Typing. The results need to be interpreted. Dr. Carnahan is able to do this with a Rosetta stone from Subject expert, Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker. There are two “dreaded” genotypes for mold sensitivity, 11-3-53 and 4-3-52. It's is estimated that 1% of the population has one of these two genes. Celiac HLAs are related to mold HLAs. It is the misprocessing of antigens. 14:49 HLAs, Pac Man of the Immune System: Dr. Carnahan orders Celiac HLA and HLA-DR typing for Celiac, and HLA-DR for mold, Lyme and other biotoxins. Celiac HLA typing, checks DQ2 and DQ8. People with two SNPs for DQ2, two SNPs of DQ8 or one DQ2 and one DQ8, have a high probability of problems with gluten processing. They may never get Celiac disease, but gluten can create inflammation and trigger autoimmunity. Autoimmunity and mold go hand-in-hand because of the inflammatory cascade. 19:50 The Possible Benefit of This Over-Reactive Immune System: Sometimes Dr. Carnahan has patients who say that they have not had a cold or flu for years. They may have some sort of virus, but their immune system is so dysfunctional that they are not symptomatic. Sometimes it is not the threat causing our illness, but our immune system’s response to the threat. People, who don’t have this cytokine reaction, are more prone to have these HLA types. Their immune system is so dysfunctional that it isn’t rallying a proper response. 21:31 Symptoms of Mold Exposure: Symptoms include fatigue, brain fog where you cannot concentrate, focus or complete a task easily, and memory issues in the form of finding words. NeuroQuant, SPECT MRI, or a functional MRI, all show changes in the brain from the mold. Instead of seasonal allergy responses, people with mold sensitivity have super-reactive mast cells and are in a constant histamine response with allergy symptoms. Your skin is a detox organ, so you might have new onset acne, sores, lesions, and/or scalp issues. Joint pain is common because it is an inflammatory response. Tingling, shortness of breath, sinus congestion, and blurry vision is also common. 24:12 Symptom – Prone to Static Shock: Mold affects the pituitary access to the extreme. One of the hormones in the posterior pituitary is antidiuretic hormone, which controls our saltwater balance, so another symptom is constant thirst that is unquenchable, dry skin, dry eyes,. The antidiuretic hormone is affected when MSH, another hormone that regulates the hypothalamic access. In mold illness, this almost always drops. That regulates cortisol, adrenals, thyroid, and antidiuretic hormone. Because antidiuretic hormone is low, you are drinking lots of water and have more salt on the surface of your skin. This makes you prone to static charge. 28:47 School Buildings Commonly Have Mold: Courthouses, schools and older buildings often have mold. 30:46 Biomarkers of Mold: The CRP or ESR inflammatory markers will be normal for those of us with mold reaction. CMP, basic metabolic kidney/liver, will be normal. CBC, most of the time will be normal. Routine labs will be normal. Because labs come back normal, many are deemed to have a psychiatric illness, especially when they experience another symptom of mold exposure, rage, anger and sudden deep dark depression when exposed to mold. Dr. Carnahan does HLA typing along with testing of leptin and adiponectin which will show early signs of insulin dysregulation. Mold reaction brings on insulin resistance. Dysregulation of cortisol blocks insulin from entering your cells. Your pancreas can be affected from the toxins, causing elevated lipase or amylase. You can have poor production of pancreatic enzymes and poor production of insulin. You can even become diabetic even when they have no family history. 32:51 Symptom - Sudden Weight Gain: People can put on 50 pounds from mold exposure even with decreased caloric intake and increased exercise. Because of the insulin resistance from the imbalance of leptin and adiponectin, these people cannot burn fat. They are metabolically so dysfunctional that typical dietary interventions do not work. 33:28 Mold and Blood Profusion: Mold exposure sensitivity decreases blood flow to your tissues. VEGF shows capillary tissue profusion. Early in the illness, this increases, causing new blood vessel growth. Dr. Carnahan, a runner, would have decreased profusion in her legs, causing lactic acid to build and sometimes her lower legs would go numb. 34:25 Mold Exposure Sensitivity and Autoimmunity: VEGF causes TGF Beta to rise. TGF Beta is a master puppeteer in the immune system that regulates autoimmunity, impactingTreg cells, and t17 cells. High TGF Beta suppresses Treg cells, decreases core antigen presentation, and affects MSH which effects cortisol, leptin, ADH and much more.

On today’s podcast, we’re discussing the toxic effects of mold on your skin and health. My guest is Dr. Jill Crista who is the author of Break The Mold, 5 Tools To Conquer Mold And Take Back Your Health, a book for mold-sickness sufferers. She’s a nationally recognized educator on illnesses associated with mold and mycotoxin exposure. She was inspired by her patients to seek out the truth behind their mysterious and unyielding symptoms. Mold was often the invisible cause. After an exhaustive review of the scientific literature, she developed a unique treatment approach which built research findings onto the foundations of her naturopathic education and philosophies. She’s been managing mold and mycotoxin-ill patients for over a decade, and feels compelled to share what she’s learned. In this interview, Dr. Crista explains what symptoms to look for to know if you may have been exposed to mold (including signs that show up on your skin) and how to address both the mold in your environment and the symptoms that may be lingering after exposure.

Allergens like pollen are nothing more than foreign plant antigens. The stimulus for sneezing gets triggered when allergens first enter the nasal tissue. Pollen allergens encounter the plasma cells in the nose, which respond by producing antibodies. These antibodies attach to mast cells, which are white blood cells containing the chemical histamine. As more antibodies are produced, they cause the mast cells to release histamine. Histamine then produces allergy symptoms. A stuffy and runny nose, sneezing and watery eyes help to remove the invading pollen. Medications called antihistamines may be used to help alleviate severe allergy symptoms. What Is an Allergy? It's what happens when your immune system reacts to something that’s usually harmless. Those triggers, which doctors call "allergens," can include pollen, mold, and animal dander, certain foods, or things that irritate your skin. Allergies are very common. At least 1 in 5 Americans has one. What Happens During an Allergic Reaction? It starts when you come into contact with a trigger that you inhale, swallow, or get on your skin. In response, your body starts to make a protein called IgE, which grabs onto the allergen. Then histamine and other chemicals get released into the blood. That causes the symptoms you notice. What Are the Symptoms? Your symptoms depend on how you’re exposed -- through the air, your skin, food, or through an insect sting. If you’ve got a nasal or skin allergy, common symptoms include: Itchy, watery eyes Sneezing Itchy, runny nose Rashes Feeling tired or ill Hives (a rash with raised red patches) Food allergies can also cause stomach cramps, vomiting, and diarrhea. If an insect sting was the trigger, you’ll have swelling, redness, and pain where it stung you. Symptoms can range from mild to severe. Most go away shortly after the exposure stops. Mild ones may be almost unnoticeable. You might just feel a little “off.” Moderate symptoms can make you feel ill, as if you’ve got a cold or even the flu. Severe allergic reactions are extreme. Is It Anaphylaxis? The most severe allergic reaction is called anaphylaxis. It affects your whole body. Symptoms can include: Hives and itching all over Wheezing or shortness of breath Hoarseness or tightness in the throat Tingling in the hands, feet, lips, or scalp Anaphylaxis is life-threatening, so call 911 right away. If you have an epinephrine auto-injector, use it and repeat after 5 to 15 minutes if your symptoms haven’t improved. You’ll still need medical care right after you give yourself the shots, even if your symptoms seem to stop, because a delayed reaction could still happen. Allergies, also known as allergic diseases, are a number of conditions caused by hypersensitivity of the immune system to something in the environment that usually causes little or no problem in most people. These diseases include hay fever, food allergies, atopic dermatitis, allergic asthma, and anaphylaxis. Symptoms may include red eyes, an itchy rash, sneezing, a runny nose, shortness of breath, or swelling. Food intolerances and food poisoning are separate conditions. Common allergens include pollen and certain food. Metals and other substances may also cause problems. Food, insect stings, and medications are common causes of severe reactions. Their development is due to both genetic and environmental factors. The underlying mechanism involves immunoglobulin E antibodies (IgE), part of the body's immune system, binding to an allergen and then to a receptor on mast cells or basophils where it triggers the release of inflammatory chemicals such as histamine. Diagnosis is typically based on a person's medical history. Further testing of the skin or blood may be useful in certain cases. Positive tests, however, may not mean there is a significant allergy to the substance in question. Early exposure to potential allergens may be protective. Treatments for allergies include avoiding known allergens and the use of medications such as steroids and antihistamines. In severe reactions injectable adrenaline (epinephrine) is recommended. Allergen immunotherapy, which gradually exposes people to larger and larger amounts of allergen, is useful for some types of allergies such as hay fever and reactions to insect bites. Its use in food allergies is unclear. Allergies are common. In the developed world, about 20% of people are affected by allergic rhinitis, about 6% of people have at least one food allergy, and about 20% have atopic dermatitis at some point in time. Depending on the country about 1–18% of people have asthma. Anaphylaxis occurs in between 0.05–2% of people. Rates of many allergic diseases appear to be increasing. The word "allergy" was first used by Clemens von Pirquet in 1906.

For mold to grow indoors, it needs moisture and a source of food. Unfortunately, many building materials, furnishings and personal belongings make for an excellent food source. If moisture is allowed to enter the indoor environment it can become an ideal breeding ground for mold in as little as 48 hours or so. While mold is a natural part of the environment and people are exposed to it on a daily basis, exposure to elevated levels of mold in the air people breathe in their home, school or work environment can lead to health concerns. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) shares the following about exposure to mold: Exposure to damp and moldy environments may cause a variety of health effects, or none at all. Some people are sensitive to mold. For these people, mold can cause nasal stuffiness, throat irritation, coughing or wheezing, eye irritation, or, in some cases, skin irritation. People with mold allergies may have more severe reactions. Immune-compromised people and people with chronic lung illnesses, such as obstructive lung disease, may get serious infections in their lungs when they are exposed to certain types of mold. In 2004, the Institute of Medicine (IOM) found there was sufficient evidence to link indoor exposure to mold with upper respiratory tract symptoms, cough and wheeze in otherwise healthy people; with asthma symptoms in people with asthma; and with hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP) in individuals susceptible to that immune-mediated condition. Some types of mold can also produce mycotoxins, which are secondary metabolites that can cause toxic effects. While there is significant research about the ingestion of mycotoxins, there is less known about potential health effects from inhalation exposure. One of the best ways to control mold growth is to control indoor moisture. This is why it is critical to control humidity levels and dry water-damaged materials as quickly as it is safe to do so. These are just a few things to know about exposure to elevated levels of mold indoors. 1-what is Ige test 2-Ige test results interpretation 3-allergy test name 4-What does a high IgE level mean? 5-What does IgE mean on a blood test? Immunoglobulin E (IgE) is an antibody that is produced by the body’s immune system in response to a perceived threat. It is one of five classes of immunoglobulins (A, G, M, D, and E) and is normally present in the blood in very small amounts. This test measures the amount of IgE in the blood. An increased total IgE level indicates that it is likely that a person has one or more allergies. Allergen-specific IgE levels will increase after an exposure and then decline over time, thus affecting the total IgE level. If a person is allergic to a seasonal substance, such as pollen, then both the specific IgE and total IgE would be expected to increase during the time of year when the allergen is present. If someone has one or more food allergies, then the total IgE level would mirror exposures to these foods. If someone is allergic to something that they are constantly around, such as mold in a house or cat dander, then the total IgE level may be persistently increased. An elevated level of total IgE indicates an allergic process is likely present, but it will not indicate what a person is allergic to. In general, the greater the number of things a person is allergic to, the higher the total IgE level may be. An IgE elevation can also indicate the presence of a parasitic infection but cannot be used to determine the type of infection. vit b12 test-https://youtu.be/SpxLAeoJ8HU Uric acid test-https://youtu.be/0e5anNu1LFY Hba1c test-https://youtu.be/R2A61IfNXRw Lipid profile-https://youtu.be/Cdh7as8Uluk thyriod profile-https://youtu.be/1bXoZOrm5oI LFT test-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xxmfq... Today we’re talking about something we haven’t covered before and that’s health and skin problems associated with mold exposure. Mold exposure can lead to a number of symptoms. Some of the early warning signs show up on the skin and include acne, hives, dermatitis, other rashes. And there can be other symptoms such as fatigue, weight gain, brain fog, memory loss, unexplained pain and a number of other symptoms. If you have these or other symptoms and you haven’t been able to get to the root cause, your answer may be in this podcast. My guest today is Dr. Jill Carnahan. Dr. Jill received her medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. She is double board-certified in Family Medicine (ABFM) and Integrative Holistic Medicine (ABIHM). Dr. Jill was part of the first 100+ health-care practitioners to be certified in Functional Medicine through the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFMCP). She founded Flatiron Functional Medicine in Boulder, Colorado where she partnered in functional medicine with Dr. Robert Rountree. She recently opened a new medical clinic in Louisville, Colorado. Dr. Jill is a15-year survivor of breast cancer and Crohn’s disease and is passionate about teaching patients how to “live well” and thrive in the midst of complex and chronic illness. She is also committed to teaching other physicians how to address underlying causes of illness rather than just treating symptoms. On today’s podcast, we cover how to know if mold exposure may be an issue for you and what to do about it. Dr. Jill covers testing and valuable resources that I think you’ll be interested to hear about. Many of the symptoms of mold exposure can be misdiagnosed with other health conditions, so it’s important to know what to look for because it may be the missing piece for your health.

Allergies: Allergens like pollen are nothing more than foreign plant antigens. Music Source: Is That You or Are You You by Chris Zabriskie is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://chriszabriskie.com/reappear/ Artist: http://chriszabriskie.com/ Heredity, environmental conditions, number and type of exposures and emotional factors can indicate a predisposition to allergies. Allergies often bring to mind sneezing, a runny nose or watery eyes. While these are symptoms of some types of allergic disease, it’s important to understand that an allergic reaction is actually a result of a chain reaction that begins in your genes and is expressed by your immune system. What is happening inside your body when you have an allergic reaction? The Immune System Your immune system controls how your body defends itself. For instance, if you have an allergy to pollen, your immune system identifies pollen as an invader or allergen. Your immune system overreacts by producing antibodies called Immunoglobulin E (IgE). These antibodies travel to cells that release chemicals, causing an allergic reaction. This reaction usually causes symptoms in the nose, lungs, throat, sinuses, ears, lining of the stomach or on the skin. Each type of IgE has specific "radar" for each type of allergen. That's why some people are only allergic to cat dander (they only have the IgE antibodies specific to cat dander); while others have allergic reactions to multiple allergens because they have many more types of IgE antibodies. An allergy is a reaction by your immune system to something that does not bother most other people. People who have allergies often are sensitive to more than one thing. Substances that often cause reactions are Pollen Dust mites Mold spores Pet dander Food Insect stings Medicines Normally, your immune system fights germs. It is your body's defense system. In most allergic reactions, however, it is responding to a false alarm. Genes and the environment probably both play a role. Allergies can cause a variety of symptoms such as a runny nose, sneezing, itching, rashes, swelling, or asthma. Allergies can range from minor to severe. Anaphylaxis is a severe reaction that can be life-threatening. Doctors use skin and blood tests to diagnose allergies. Treatments include medicines, allergy shots, and avoiding the substances that cause the reactions. Allergies An allergy is an immune response or reaction to substances that are usually not harmful. Causes Allergies are very common. Both genes and environment play a role. If both your parents have allergies, there is a good chance that you have them, too. The immune system normally protects the body against harmful substances, such as bacteria and viruses. It also reacts to foreign substances called allergens. These are usually harmless and in most people do not cause a problem. Allergic reactions In a person with allergies, the immune response is oversensitive. When it recognizes an allergen, the immune system launches a response. Chemicals such as histamines are released. These chemicals cause allergy symptoms. Allergic reaction can be provoked by skin contact with poison plants, chemicals and animal scratches, as well as by insect stings. Ingesting or inhaling substances like pollen, animal dander, molds and mildew, dust, nuts and shellfish, may also cause allergic reaction. Medications such as penicillin and other antibiotics are also to be taken with care, to assure an allergic reflex is not triggered. The immune system normally responds to harmful substances such as bacteria, viruses and toxins by producing symptoms such as runny nose and congestion, post-nasal drip and sore throat, and itchy ears and eyes. An allergic reaction can produce the same symptoms in response to substances that are generally harmless, like dust, dander or pollen. The sensitized immune system produces antibodies to these allergens, which cause chemicals called histamines to be released into the bloodstream, causing itching, swelling of affected tissues, mucus production, hives, rashes, and other symptoms. Symptoms vary in severity from person to person.

Hi there, Eric Bakker from New Zealand. Thanks for coming back. Thanks for watching my channel. I do appreciate it, especially if you subscribe, I'd appreciate it even more. We're doing a series on mold allergy, on mold toxicity. So now we're going to determine is there a blood test for mold allergy? How can you determine if you've got this problem? Well I just had a look on the Mayo Clinic website. And as usual with medical websites, basically they're looking at some tests. There are two tests that they recommend. One is a prick test, where they're actually going to look ... they'll have samples of mold from your area. They'll scratch the skin or prick it, and then they'll apply you know, this particular allergen to the skin to see if they can induce a response from the immune system, like a rash, or real flare response, okay? So we call that a RAST test, radio sorbent immuno test. All it is is challenging your immune system with something that's in your environment. It can be used for foods. It can be used for molds. It can be used for like you know, animal fur, or pollen, or dust mites, or things like that. I find those tests pretty crappy and useless because most people are gonna react to something. They're not really definitive. We don't know hold old the samples are that you're being challenged with, or how effective you know, the test is being applied to your condition. I find this quite a useless test. The other one that they can do is a blood draw, and to check for antibodies to you know, molds in your system. They can do that as well. But I would ditch that kind of junk. I would go more to a functional medicine doctor where they can do much more accurate tests and a wide range of parameters when it comes to mold. I mean, one website I just looked at offers a particular kind of urine test for about 150 different types of molds. So you can do blood. You can do urine. I think there's even saliva tests you can get for mold allergy. So many functional labs including Genova Diagnostics, Doctor's Data, there'll be Great Plains Laboratory. There'll be so many labs in the states that offer mold or fungus tests. So you may wanna go to your functional medicine doctor and say "Hey, I just watched Eric Becker's channel, and I've been told that I can actually do a test to determine if I've got a problem with mold," and there are many different functional tests you can do, so if you have got a problem in your house, or you have a suspicion that you might have a problem with mold, why not do a functional medicine test to determine yay or nay when you've got the problem. Then you can make up your mind whether to get out of the house, have the damage repaired, you know, we'll take it from there. But if in doubt, check it out. Get the tests done. There are tests available. There are various tests available, too many for me to mention in this video. But your naturopathic doctor, of functional medicine MD will almost certainly have some answers when it comes to the testing for mold in your body. Get it done. Thanks for tuning in, appreciate it.
