Watch more How to Understand Testicular Cancer videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/511970-Testicular-Cancer-Signs-and-Symptoms-Testicular-Cancer Most commonly testicular cancer usually presents with a mass that appears within the testicle. There may be things that occur that draw the patient's attention to that mass, for example pain or discomfort in the groin area or trauma. Sometimes people have trauma to the area and all of a sudden it draws attention to the area, and they examine themselves or someone examines that area, and they feel a firm, solid mass within the testicle. That is the classic appearance of testicular cancer. Until proven otherwise, any solid, firm mass within the testicle should be considered as a potential cancer although there are other things that can cause similar findings. That's one of the more common presentations. Testicular cancer can spread to other parts of the body including the abdominal area, the chest, and various other areas. When it does do that, then patients may notice symptoms due to the spread of cancer to those sites. For example, when cancer spreads to the lungs, patients may have shortness of breath or difficulty breathing. Cancer can spread through the lymphatic channels to lymph nodes in the body. Sometimes if there's extensive spread, patients may feel lumps in the neck area or the groin areas, various other parts of the body, that may signify the presence of cancer. In general, most of those cases, most cases of testicular cancer will also have some form of a mass within the testicle itself. It's not always a 100% guarantee but most commonly that's the way it presents.

Symptoms Of Testicular Cancer I'm doing this video about testicular cancer because someone in my family has experienced it, so I've had a chance to learn more than I ever wanted to know about it. I'll share what I've learned about the symptoms of testicular cancer in the next minute or so. I've also done a lot of reading and research on this topic on reliable medical websites like these. Compared with other types of cancer, testicular cancer is fairly rare. But it's most likely to occur in males between the ages of 15 and 35, when a tumor grows on a testicle. See the visual on the left. Cancer usually affects only one testicle. Symptoms include * A lump or enlargement in either testicle * A feeling of heaviness in the scrotum * A dull ache in the abdomen or groin * Pain or discomfort in a testicle or the scrotum Men may also experience enlargement or tenderness of the area of the breasts. Back pain can be a symptom when considered in conjunction with those I've listed. You should consult your doctor if you detect any pain, swelling or lumps in the testicles, especially if these symptoms continue for more than two weeks. I've produced several other videos on this topic. You can watch them by clicking on the links above.

3 Essential Steps To Instantly Fire Up Your Testicles And Testosterone : https://tinyurl.com/ydb7zqgk Get Bigger Testicles : https://tinyurl.com/ydb7zqgk Symptoms And Signs For Testicular Cancer- Do Not Ignore!!! American males between the ages of 15 and 35 suffer from testicular cancer the most. You can treat this cancer. But the best way is to do self-examinations often and identify any symptoms or signs so that the treatment can be highly successful. Here you can read about the risk factors form testicular cancer, what signs and symptoms can be shown and how to do the self-examination. Risk Factors for Testicular Cancer There are still studies conducted to clear what causes the testicular cancer but there are several factors that may increase the risk for developing one. The most significant factor is the undescended testicle When a baby is formed in the mother`s womb, if it is a boy the testicles form in the abdomen and then they descend down to the scrotum shortly before birth. In some cases this descent doesn’t occur so the baby may be born with the condition known as the undescended testicles (cryptorchidism) These men who have this testicle disorder have a higher risk of developing testicular cancer. If the testicle is surgically relocated to the scrotum the risk remains the same. Age– Cancer can occur at any age, but mainly it affects ages between 15 and 35. Race– White men suffer more than other ethnic groups. Family history– the testicular cancer is heredatory, so if anyone in the family had it –there is a risk you may have it too. Abnormal testicle development– the Klinefelter`s syndrome (an extra X chromosome in the boy DNA) can increase the risk of testicular cancer. Smoking- people that smoke a pack of 20 cigarettes a day in the period of 12 years are prone to develop testicular cancer than those who don’t smoke. HIV– men with HIV have higher risk for testicular cancer. Signs and Symptoms for testicular cancer -Look for a lump or swelling in one of the testicles. It can be small or large and it usually affects just one testicle. Don’t ignore this lump or swelling, visit the GP and see what this is about. – Feeling pain, discomfort or heaviness in a testicle or in the scrotum – There is a difference between the testicles – Fluid in the scrotum -Fatigue, general feeling of being unwell, enlargement or tenderness in the breasts, dull ache in the lower abdomen, enlarged lymph nodes and back pain. Self-Examination You just need three minutes once a month to check your body. You can perform the check up while in the bath or shower, when the skin of the scrotum is relaxed. Get to know your testicles and be aware of any unusual changes that may occur. The testicles should be checked one at a time. Place the index and the middle finger under the testicle, while placing the thumbs on the top. Use both hands to roll it gently between your fingers. Feel it for any hard lumps or size, shape changes. It is normal one testicle to be slightly larger than the other and to hang lower from the other. You can also use a mirror to look for swelling on the skin or scrotum.

Women do it all the time - men not so much - although both could benefit from self-screening for cancer. "Women are very comfortable doing breast examinations; men are less comfortable in a testicular examination," says Dr. Meir Daller. Dr. Daller is a urologist on staff of Lee Memorial Health System. But testicular cancer is on the rise. From 1973 to 1992, rates increased by more than 50%. There are very few symptoms other than a lump. "Testicular cancer is what I call painless mass. Most of the time you don't have any sign or symptom beside the mass. So you are not going to have any achiness or fever or tiredness," says Dr. Daller. Often called a young man's cancer, it is most common between the ages of 15 and 40. An age when men are less likely to think about cancer. "Men are embarrassed by the cancer and present to the doctor quite late. Most men at the age of 30- 40 feel that they're immune from health issues," says Dr. Daller. The self-exam comes down to knowing what feels normal for your body. Experts suggest feeling for lumps in the shower when the body is relaxed. "It's the easiest exam to do. Every man knows how his body feels, what's normal and what's abnormal," says Dr. Daller. The cure rate for this form of cancer is extremely high. If caught early the 5-year survival rate is 99%. "Very few people are dying of testicular cancer. The majority of the patients are cured. But it depends when we caught the cancer," says Dr. Daller. Making it a good reason to get a handle on your health. A chance occurrence changed Bill Pooley's life. "I happened to be watching a medical show and the doctor said 'you guys don't forget you should be doing self exams too. Especially you young guys, testicular cancer is on the rise'," says Pooley. So Pooley prepared to try his hand at a self-exam. "I decided next shower I would go and check it out. And I found a lump," says Pooley. Doctors are seeing it more often. From 1973 to 1992, the rate of testicular cancer increased by more than 50%. The rise continued through the last decade to roughly seven cases per 100,000. "Testicular cancer is what I call painless mass. Most of the time you don't have any sign or symptom beside the mass. So you are not going to have any achiness or fever or tiredness," says Dr. Meir Daller, urologist on Lee Memorial Health System's medical staff. It's the most common cancer found in men between the ages of 15 and 40. Easily detected through a self-exam, young men are less likely to think about it or report it. "Men are embarrassed by the cancer and present to the doctor quite late. Most men at the age of 30- 40, feel that they're immune from health issues," says Dr. Daller. The silver lining with testicular cancer is that it's very treatable. With surgery it's 90% curable when cases are caught early. If it's spread the cure rate is 85% "So we right away are going to do an orchidectomy, a removal of that testis. If it is metastasized, even if there's cancer in the brain, cancer in the lungs, cancer on the lymph nodes, it's curable." says Dr. Daller. Pooley underwent surgery and radiation. Four years of follow up finds him cancer free. "I pay a little bit more attention to the signs now," says Pooley. And grateful that his feelings paid off. While several cancer symptoms can be shared with many other common diseases, it’s significant to be attentive to aches and pains that last longer than usual or become worse with every day. Signs of cancer can be small and very easy to miss. The earlier a cancer is distinguished, the more likely it is that treatment will be effective. Rapid weight loss Unless you are in the middle of a diet or weight loss routine, be wary of any unexpected, repaid body weight loss. While there are a number of other possible reasons for fast weight loss, it is also a sign of certain kinds of cancer, like pancreatic, lung and stomach cancer. Even if you have an active lifestyle, dangerous weight loss in a short amount of time, such as 6 to 12 pounds in 7 to 8 days, is a warning sign to talk with your doctor. Lumps A lump or tender swelling in the breasts or testicles is very often a cautionary signs for cancer. Both men and women must inspect themselves for lumps at least twice a month, subsequently, breast and testicular cancer can take hold quickly. Meanwhile, it is less common, but remember that cancerous lumps can be found in other body parts as well, so show your doctor if you found any an old lumps under your skin. Itchy skin The body takes cancer as microorganisms. The immune system combats it by using white blood cells in an effort to eliminate it. Resulting in increased blood flow in the part of cancerous development, which makes the part to feel warm, change the skin color to red and skin feel tight or itch. Bleeding Bleeding that is mysterious should always be consulted with doctor. Bleeding from the uterus, nipple or in any excretions can be a very dangerous early signs of cancer. Constant coughing Lungs cancer, esophagus, throat and even stomach cancer can cause continuous coughing. If you've got a constant cough that is also very painful, or you are coughing up blood, check in with a specialist doctor. A cough that is older than 1 to 2 weeks, can be much more than a cold. Chronic fatigue After a very busy day feeling tired isn’t unusual, but you have a cause to be worried if you are fighting with constant fatigue that does not recover with relaxation and a stable diet. Along with many other signs of cancer, fatigue is a sign shared by many of less serious diseases, so don’t fear if you are feeling tired. Instead. Just talk with your doctors as fatigue can be early signs of cancer. Wounds that don’t heal if you observe that a wound or another injury is taking too much time to heal, it could be early sign of cancer, and cancer is developing in your body. Your immune system gives more attention to the cancer than the wounded area. The body can ignore the wound as it’s not as important so body will take time to heal the wound.

This video was made the day I found out that my testicular cancer had spread to my lymph nodes, back in November 2016. I knew I would need chemo. There are over 9,000 new cases of testicular cancer every year, averaging one new diagnosis every hour of every day. One in 250 men will be diagnosed with testicular cancer at some point in their life, with 50% of these cases occurring in men ages 15-35. About 6% of cases occur in children and teens, and about 8% occur in men over the age of 55. 90% of the time, testicular cancer presents as a lump in the testicle. A lump in the testicle can be detected early through regular self-exams. Best done during or after a shower when the scrotum is relaxed, place your index and middle fingers under the testicle with your thumb on top. Firmly but gently, roll each testicle between your fingers. Any weird lumps or bumps should be checked out by a doctor ASAP. According to a 2018 study done by CACTI, more than 1 in 3 of all men polled have never been told about the importance of a monthly testicular self- exam. Nearly half of those surveyed do not perform testicular self-exams. 42% of men don’t even know how to perform one, according to the Testicular Cancer Society. Despite all of these facts and figures, testicular cancer is not talked about enough in society. My hopes are that sharing my story from beginning to end with an open attitude will stimulate more open discussion and bring a larger focus to men’s health in general. Knowing someone who is going through testicular cancer can help make it more real to men who might not otherwise be concerned about their own health. I put my face where their balls are (which is a somewhat awkward turn of phrase). The title, A Ballsy Sense of Tumor, is purposefully chosen to convey this mission is all about testicular cancer and that I talk about it in as positively and with as much humor as you can use when discussing cancer. While cancer is no laughing matter, my method is to approach it with humor, awareness, and positivity. A Ballsy Sense of Tumor was founded by Justin Birckbichler, a men’s health activist, testicular cancer survivor, and fourth grade teacher. From being diagnosed in November 2016 at the age of 25, to finishing chemo in January 2017, to being cleared in remission in March, he has been passionate about sharing his story to spread awareness and promote open conversation about men's health. Watch more How to Understand Testicular Cancer videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/511971-What-Causes-Testicular-Cancer-Testicular-Cancer As with many cancers, we can't necessarily pinpoint the exact cause of testicular cancer. We know that it's due to some form of genetic mutations that occur within the cells of the testicle that causes the abnormal growth of these cells, and causes them to become cancerous. We do know, however, that there are several risk factors that can increase a person's risk of developing testicular cancer. The most common ones that we talk about are a family history, so if you have a relative who had testicular cancer, and then there's a condition called an undescended testicle. Normally during the development of the testicles, embryologically and as a baby is growing within the uterus, the testicles originate up here in the abdominal area. Throughout the development process, they actually descend downward and they go through a canal in the groin, called the inguinal canal, and they end up down in the scrotal area. That is called the process of descent and in some conditions there can be what is called an undescended testicle, a condition that we refer to as cryptorchidism. This condition is known to increase the risk of development of testicular cancer, not only in the testicle that had the failure of descent, but also in the other testicle. So anybody who has had cryptorchidism or an undescended testicle may be at higher risk of developing cancer, and should be performing self-examinations. Now, various recommendations have been made about performing self-examinations. The U.S. Preventative Task Force has said that it's not necessarily to routinely screen for testicular cancer. The American Urological Association, however, does actually recommend monthly self-examinations for men by examining the testicles to make sure that there are no masses within the testis. But certainly, if you have a family history of testicular cancer or if you have a history of an undescended testicle, then you should be definitely performing self-examinations to ensure that you don't develop a mass within the testis.

Symptoms of testicular cancer can vary slightly based on the place of tumor’s presence. In Germ Cell Tumors Testicular cancer, there can be a presence of lump on one of both testicles which may or may not be painful. You may also notice swelling of the testicles. Treatment of testicular cancer is surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy or a combination of these procedures based on the advancement of cancer. This video is an informative animated presentation that explains Testicular Cancer- diagnosis and treatment. Testicular Cancer is a disease of abnormal cell growth in one or both of your testicles. It usually begins in the germ cells where genetic damage or changes called mutations cause the cells to grow uncontrollably. The cancerous germ cells clump together to form a tumour which continues to grow. In most cases, these mutations occur in the germ cells and are called germ cell tumours. Symptoms of testicular cancer may include painless mass on your testicle or testicular pain or swelling. If you have testicular cancer your doctor may recommend surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or a combination of treatments. Treatments for testicular cancer are based on the type and stage of the tumour. Your treatment will usually begin with the removal of the cancerous testicle through a radical inguinal orchiectomy. For this procedure your surgeon will make an incision in your lower abdomen, and then your surgeon will remove your testicle from your scrotum. Your surgeon will close the incision with sutures or surgical staples. Next your pathologist will analyse your testicle to determine which type of cancer you have and plan further treatment.
