Feb 1, 2016. This -year-old Shih Tzu has skin disease since young. Various vets treated this dog. After steroid treatment, the skin disease "recurs". Flakes scattered all over the examination table. No hypoallergenic diet was previously advised. An ultraviolet light showed positive fluorescence. Microscopic examination showed ringworm. The dog was clipped bald. The main diagnosis is generalised ringworm. A follow-up one month later is needed. The owner needs to be hard working to bathe the dog thoroughly for the next 4 weeks. The black spots on the lower body of this Shih Tzu illustrated many years of licking and scratching of the belly and lower chest area infested with fungal ringworm. Originally, the skin will be inflamed red and pink. After many months of licking and scratching, the skin become hyperpigmented black. The circular spots indicated past ringworm, yeast and bacterial infections. Many owners doctor-hop and so the skin disease is not followed up and the dog suffers from continuous itching and scratching.

Generalised ringworm is a very itchy skin disease for some dogs. In this case, the owner did not return for the review. She bought some pet shop shampoos. The dog licked and bit the body including the leg causing hyperpigmentation of the skin, manifested as black skin. The dog is clipped bald again and treated for ringworm and bacterial infections.

→ http://todosobreperros.online/go/onlinedog ← CLIC FOR MORE TIPS Allergy, itching or irritation are some of the common problems of skin diseases in dogs, which are usually caused by insect bites such as fleas and by reaction to food or external substances such as pollen. 1. The parasites, a source of problems for the dog's skin. Fleas that itch the dog provoke an itch that results in a compulsive scratching that causes an irritation in the skin called allergic dermatitis by flea bite. They can produce serious parasitic or infectious diseases in the dog, such as canine ehrlichiosis. Therefore, it is essential to keep these parasites at bay with specific and effective products for dogs, which are also respectful of the animal's skin. 2. Allergic dog skin problems. Skin can present problems such as itching (small pimples) and other irritations or redness due to food allergies or external agents, such as pollen. A diet rich in fatty acids (Omega 3 and 6) with hypoallergenic feed and adequate hygiene of the dog favor that the dogs suffering from this chronic disease have the symptoms under control. 3. Blows that leave a mark on the dog's skin. Bumps, burns, accidents or domestic accidents have consequences for the dog's skin. Depending on the type of injury involved and its severity, the treatment will consist of the use of antiseptics, dressings, antibiotics or anti-inflammatory ointments, to be prescribed by the veterinarian. The kitchen is one of the places in the house where dogs, especially if they are puppies, can suffer accidents that cause burns, cuts and blows that affect the skin. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid access to the places where the animal can be injured and suffer dermatological injuries. 4. Tumors and cysts on the skin of dogs. Cancerous skin tumors (carcinoma), sebaceous cysts, adenomas (similar to a wart) or melanomas (skin blemishes) are common dermatological conditions in dogs. The consequences are inflammation, accumulation of fluid or fat inside, redness or darkening of the skin. Therefore, they require specific treatment, depending on the case and degree of severity that the veterinarian determines. 5. Internal diseases affect canine skin. Metabolic diseases, such as diabetes, are also reflected in the health of the dog's skin. If vital organs such as the dog's liver are diseased, the skin reflects the inner state of the can through its color or texture. Some tips help the can keep your skin in shape. The external deworming of the dog to avoid fleas and ticks. Bathrooms with adequate products and as often as necessary, because excess water and soap can also damage the skin and imbalance its pH. A "hotspot" is a combination of an infection, allergic reaction, and self trauma. It may start as a small wound, hive, sting, tight collar, scratch, allergic reaction to food, fleas, pollens, or grasses, then get itched or licked into a large wound. If the dog isn't too painful, you can wash the area with warm soap (baby shampoo or dawn) and warm water . Then you can apply antibiotic ointment and cortisone ointmant. If the wound is painful or making your pet sick, get it checked out by a vet. These are only suggestions for temporary treatment. You can also give benadryl and aspirin http://www.dogdishdiet.com/dr-gregs-11-practical-home-remedies-for-dogs-and-cats/

Sep 5 2018. For the past 9 years, the dog had good skin. Then the skin flakes came in abundance. The ears were very itchy. The owner saw vets as frequently as monthly, but the flakes keep falling. In May 2018, he came for ear infection treatment. Ear irrigation was done. Anti-fungal and shampoos were prescribed. "The skin would take months to recover," I advised skin review a month later but he did not turn up. Today, he came for clipping of the coat. The left ear is still v painful (dog wants to bite vet, as seen in the video), but the right ear is OK. Lower belly is very itchy and therefore blackened by continuous licking. UVL +ve flourescence for ringworm for flakes around the neck and ears. "It is best to review the skin one month after treatment," I said to the owner who only wanted clipping of coat and the shampoos. "The skin of the ear flap has lightened to become pink, indicating that the ears are not very itchy compared to the past years!". There are very few flakes seen on my consultation table. Blood test in May 2018 during first consultation showed liver disorder but no anaemia or bacterial infections of the blood. Kidneys were normal. Skin diseases may need more than 3 treatments and reviews to resolve. Many owners do not come back for the 2nd review one month after treatment. For this "good" outcome of no more skin flakes, the owner has confidence in the clinic to treat the skin disease. The dog is not fully cured yet although shampoos and previous anti-fungal medication had helped considerably in reducing the skin flaking.

Skin diseases, multiple warts and chronic ear infections in an old Shih Tzu. Monthly reviews are important but few owners comply. The dog keeps scratching his ears and body damaging more skin, leading to extensive skin diseases. A large elbow wart was excised a few weeks ago, but there are other multiple skin warts which the owner hesitated to get them excised owing to worries about anaesthetic deaths. Smaller warts are easier to excise by electrosurgery and need not be stitched..

After clipping bald, more than 5 skin warts are seen. Teaching the intern that a vet must be meticulous in accounting for the number of skin warts for excision. a marker pen to outline the warts and a record to be written before surgery. The ear canals are inflamed too and the ear canals will be irrigated. One of the major causes of skin inflammation is the chronic ear infections.

Apple cider vinegar saved my pet, Sasha. This simple home remedy does wonders for cats and dogs. It cures stomach problems including runny stool, vomiting and urinary tract infections common among house pets. It also curbs those pesky hair balls and unnecessary vomiting. It does wonders with their immune system and their respiratory system, and aids their digestive track. It's also good for urinary tract infections or prevents crystals from forming in the urine, and it gets rid of those brown tear stains. In fact, it helped my cat who was near death get back on track. I really love this stuff. Less is more so please don't give your cat more than a recommended dose of 1/4 tsp diluted in 8 ozs. of water. They trust you, so don't hurt them. My cat, Sasha, had been sick for 3 weeks straight before I stumbled on this information. It really, really works. I thank God for it because I'm not sure if my cat would have survived. He lost a lot of weight while he was sick. He weighs 20 pounds and it was noticeable. Now, he's gained 80 percent of his weight back and he's not sick anymore. He got sick because I changed to high quality cat food, but he was too old to adjust to the change, so I had to switch him back. He is happy as a little clam now. He's birthday is in December. He will be 15 years old -- that's a major milestone for any cat. Sasha has since gone on to heaven, but he was 17 years old when he passed, and he had a fabulous quality of life before he passed. So, I could be the poster child for this stuff. So we decided to try that one first before investing in all three products. NOTE: For the two eye cleaners, we used it 2 sometimes 3 times a day. We also wiped her tears with a warm damp face towel once a day.
