BAUCUS INTRODUCES LANDMARK HEALTH CARE PLAN Sadly

04:38
http://crusaderhealthcare.blogspot.com/ Senator's Plan Will Ensure Quality, Affordable Health Care For All Montanans only while the rest of the nation gets dry humped for generations to come... The American health cartel is a coalition businesses which deals in all of the profitable aspects of health products for those who statistically low risk and high reward and as any profitable cartel they stay away from known risky ventures like the health care for the United States armed forces, where one has to guaranty life long health care for those in harms way so they let the taxpayers pay for the veterans through a socialized type of system not unlike Europe, while in case of the senior citizens they shy away from the service end of the deal like access to doctors and hospitals due to low profit margins and let the taxpayers spend their money through Medicare , but they latch on to the very lucrative pharmaceutical end of the business and recently they made some politicians proud cause they allow theme to provide infant care another risky noisy bunch courtesy of the tax payer and just yesterday their number one agent Montana senator Max Baukus was suggesting that his benefactors will let the taxpayers pay for those so-called uninsurable folks . I think this is a wonderful business model where it collects revenue from those who rarely use their services and when time comes for them to ask for what they paid for either they are too old and the future generations will pay for them, or they fit any number of scenarios that they either use taxpayer money or if Mr. Romney has his way they will die behind a looked hospital emergency door, but thats not all since there are no antitrust laws apply to this cartel and the fact that they can dump their unwanted customers back in to the taxpayers lap, they get to set prices for all the services and products . So my friends start buying their stocks and shares now tonight because Mr. Obama is going to fold like a broken lawn chair, come tomorrow you wished you spent that $ 10,000 on Etnas stock who needs access to public healthcare when one can buy the whole hospital doctors cat scan machine and all them busty nurses too As I am witting this Ed Schultz is talking to some politician lady and they all are hoping that the cartel would forgo those with preconditions, this is most ironic peculiar and most of all sad cause come tomorrow the stupid politicians will declare a political victory [ vs. tangible victory] while the cartel quietly toast their champagne glasses under the table and shouting ouch ouch as if they are in some sort of pain... Bill Moyers on Max Baucus and Senate health insurance reform bill

05:31
BILL MOYERS: You know from the news that early next week the Senate Finance Committee is expected to vote on its version of health care reform. And therein lies another story of money and politics. Polls show the overwhelming majority of Americans favor a non-profit alternative -- like Medicare -- that would give the private health insurance industry some competition. But if so many Americans and the President himself want that public option, how come we're not getting one? Because, the medicine has been poisoned from day one, in part because of that same revolving door that Congresswoman Kaptur and Simon Johnson were just talking about. Movers and shakers rotate between government and the lucrative private sector at a speed so dizzying they forget who they're working for.

Key health care reform bill introduced Wednesday

01:51
After months of wrangling, we finally get a clear view of how health care reform could actually look. The democrat's point man in the senate on health care, Max Baucus of Montana, revealed his plan Wednesday. In the 850 billion dollar democratic bill everyone must buy insurance, with fines for violators and subsidies for people with lower incomes. There'd be no income tax hikes. Instead, drug, insurance companies and employers who don't cover workers would be forced to reimburse the government for coverage. There'd be no exclusion for pre-existing conditions, no lifetime benefit limits and no one can be dropped from coverage. There's be no public option, but more people covered under Medicaid, and non-profit private co-ops to help people get coverage. But the GOP leader slammed the new plan. “While getting rid of the government plan would be a good start, the democratic plans we've seen would still grant the government far far too much control over the health care system said, Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell. The 3 republicans who negotiated with Baucus and with democrat Kent Conrad haven’t bought in, so far. “They didn’t want public option. It's not in this package. They didn't want employer mandates, none in this package,” said Conrad of North Dakota. “At the end of the day, we're gonna get significant bipartisan support and we're gonna pass this,” said Baucus.

Max Baucus on Obamacare: "I just see a huge train wreck coming..."

17:57
Max Baucus grills Kathleen Sebelius on the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Max Baucus had single payer advocates arrested at a hearing. Baucus admitted a few weeks later in June 2009 that it was a mistake to rule out a single payer plan because doing so alienated a large, vocal constituency and left President Barack Obama's proposal of a public health plan to compete with private insurers as the most liberal position. Baucus has been criticized for his ties to the health insurance and pharmaceutical industries, and has been one of the largest beneficiaries in the Senate of campaign contributions from these industries.[34] From 2003 to 2008, Baucus received $3,973,485 from the health sector, including $852,813 from pharmaceutical companies, $851,141 from health professionals, $784,185 from the insurance industry and $465,750 from HMOs/health services, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.[43][44] A 2006 study by Public Citizen found that between 1999 and 2005 Baucus, along with former Senate majority leader Bill Frist, took in the most special-interest money of any senator.[45] Only three senators have more former staffers working as lobbyists on K Street, at least two dozen in Baucus's case. Several of Baucus's ex-staffers, including former chief of staff David Castagnetti, are now working for the pharmaceutical and health insurance industries.[46] Castagnetti co-founded the lobbying firm of Mehlman Vogel Castagnetti, which represents "America's Health Insurance Plans Inc.", the national trade group of health insurance companies, the Medicare Cost Contractors Alliance, as well as Amgen, AstraZeneca PLC and Merck & Co. Another former chief of staff, Jeff Forbes, went on to open his own lobbying shop and to represent the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America and the Advanced Medical Technology Association, among other groups. A statistical analysis of the impact of political contributions on individual senators' support for the public insurance option conducted by Nate Silver has suggested that Baucus was an unlikely supporter of the public option in the first place. Based on Baucus's political ideology and the per capita health care spending in Montana, Silver's model projects that there would be only a 30.6% probability of Baucus supporting a public insurance option even if he had received no relevant campaign contributions. Silver calculates that the impact on Baucus of the significant campaign contributions that he has received from the health care industry further reduces the probability of his supporting a public insurance option from 30.6% to 0.6%. In response to the questions raised by the large amount of funding he took from the health care industry, Baucus declared a moratorium as of July 1, 2009 on taking more special interest money from health care political action committees.[48] Baucus, however, declined to return as part of his moratorium any of the millions of dollars he has received from health care industry interests before July 1, 2009, or to rule out a resumption of taking the same or greater health care industry contributions in the future. Baucus's new policy on not taking health care industry money reportedly still permits him to take money from lobbyists or corporate executives, who the Washington Post found continued to make donations after July 1, 2009. A watchdog group found that in July 2009 Baucus took more money from the health care industry in violation of the self-defined terms of his moratorium, leading Baucus to return the money http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Baucus#Opposition_to_single_payer_health_care

Baucus Blasts House Plan to End Medicare

01:00
As Head of Senate Committee that Oversees Medicare, Baucus Proclaims: "NOT ON MY WATCH" (Washington, DC) -- Montana's senior U.S. Senator Max Baucus blasted a House plan today to cut more than $2 trillion in health care benefits, forcing seniors to pay thousands of dollars more for care. According to the Wall Street Journal, the proposal would "essentially end Medicare" as it exists today. Instead, the plan proposed by U.S. House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.), would give Medicare dollars to private insurance companies to pay for CEO salaries, profits and advertising, while covering only a portion of seniors' benefits. "We can't allow the House to end Medicare and hand seniors' health care over to private insurance companies -- and we won't, NOT ON MY WATCH," said Baucus, chair of the Senate Finance committee, which oversees the Medicare program. "Independent experts agree the House plan makes deeps cuts to Medicare and leaves seniors with fewer benefits and higher costs. Plain, simple, and wrong, the House plan means more for insurance company CEO's and less for Montana seniors. I won't stand for it." Today, the promise of Medicare guarantees the 167,000 Montana seniors on Medicare will always receive coverage for doctors, hospitals, treatments, surgeries and medicines they need. And Medicare gives seniors the security of low, fixed costs like deductibles and co-pays, for their coverage. The House plan would dismantle Medicare by converting it into a "voucher-like" program that gives money for seniors' health care directly to private insurance companies. Under this plan, seniors would have to wade through significant paperwork and fine print to find a private plan that covers their medical needs. Still that plan wouldn't guarantee coverage for the unforeseen medical conditions seniors could face over the course of the year like Medicare does. If seniors were faced with a condition not covered by their private plan, they would have to pay 100 percent of the cost out of their own pockets. To get coverage equal to the benefits Medicare offers today, seniors would have to pay thousands of dollars more. And, under the House plan, private insurance companies could be allowed to discriminate against seniors with pre-existing medical conditions such as high-blood pressure and diabetes. Insurance companies could charge more for seniors as they grow older and if they develop expensive conditions, including cancer. Baucus has repeatedly supported aggressive cuts to balance the budget and reduce our debt. But he insists those cuts do not come at the expense of Montana seniors. Balancing the budget should create greater financial security for working families, seniors and the federal government, not pull the rug out from them just as our economy is starting to recover, Baucus has said. ###
