9 Foods You Should Never Eat If You Have Joint Pain and Arthritis These are, the 9 foods, that you must avoid as far as possible, if you have arthritis, and joint pain. I'm not saying that, you should completely eliminate them from your diet, but, you should try to minimize their consumption, especially, if you have arthritis. These foods, can worsen your already painful joint pains. 1. Fried & Processed Foods. Fried foods are rich in toxins called, advanced glycation end products, also called as, AGE. These toxins, boost the oxidation in the cells, and thus aggravate the inflammation. So, when choosing processed foods, read the label, and make sure that, they don't have more than 2-3 ingredients. 2. Refined Carbohydrates. Processed carbohydrates, from white flour products like, bread, crackers, white rice, or, white potatoes, have high glycemic index, and thus trigger inflammation. Instead, consume complex carbohydrates, such as, peas, beans, and green vegetables. 3. Gluten & Wheat. Wheat, and gluten, cause inflammation in many people, especially, in those suffering from a leaky gut, as it allows toxins and waste to enter the bloodstream, through your intestines, leading to an immune response, and inflammation. 4. Processed Sugar. Processed sugar triggers, the release of inflammatory messengers, called cytokines, which can worsen your joint pains. Instead of processed sugar, you can use unrefined sugar, such as, honey, date sugar, maple sugar, brown rice syrup, etc., in limited amounts. Removing processed sugar from diet completely, is not only helpful for your joint pains, but also to your overall health. 5. Dairy. Most dairy products contain casein, which is a protein type, that causes inflammation, as it irritates the tissues around the joints. Therefore, you should limit your consumption of dairy products. 6. Seed-based Oils. Most seed-based oils, are rich in omega-6 fatty acids. According to many studies, omega-6 fatty acids, increase inflammation, while omega-3, reduce it. Instead of seed oils, you can use olive oil, rice bran oil, mustard oil, sesame oil, etc., 7. Salt. Excessive salt intake causes, water imbalances in the body, leading to edema, and high pressure on the blood vessels. This worsens arthritis, and results in pain, and inflammation. 8. Nightshades. Nightshades contain alkaloids, which in arthritis patients, show pro-inflammatory properties, and thus, intensify the pain, and inflammation. Therefore, you should reduce the consumption of white potatoes, tomatoes, pepper, paprika, and, eggplants. 9. Red Meat. Red meat contains, high levels of an omega-6 fatty acid, called, arachidonic acid, which may increase pain, and inflammation. How Does Qigong Help Arthritis? One of the most common reasons people discover and practice Qigong is because of arthritis pain. Whether it is rheumatoid, osteoarthritis, or one of the many other forms of arthritis Qigong can certainly help with stiffness, swelling, and pain. But why exactly does it help? There are many different types of movement: -stretching -strength training -cardiovascular exercise -balance and coordination -mobilization -relaxation, breathing -core work, etc But which one is best? Well, it's best to do all of them! By no means am I suggesting to spend 4 hours everyday on movement, but a simple 15-20 minute qigong practice will have all the forms of movement that is helpful for arthritis. This is why Qigong helps- in a short daily practice session you can invigorate all your joints, muscles, bones, soft tissue  in various ways, at the same time activating and moving your qi. This is why many people in Asian countries often begin practicing Qigong; to reduce arthritic pain. Walking is a totally free, easy exercise that requires little effort, and benefits not only your physical but also your mental well-being. People who are physically active throughout their life are much less prone to this disease than those who have a more sedentary lifestyle. The problem is, in nature water does come in an alkaline state because of the minerals. When you artificially make water alkaline, you split apart the water molecules with electricity to make it alkaline but without the minerals. Its the minerals that add the "x" factor in water, not just H2O. There are problems long term that can occur with drinking artificially make alkaline water - the neutralization of body acids (stomach, large intestines and urine). I have found that some people who drink alkaline water end up with a urine of a pH of 9, completely off the scale when it should be 5-6. This breads microbes. Making your entire body alkaline can create problems with electrolytes (affecting the heart), the muscles, and slow digestion, because you need a strong acid stomach. Qigong practice is great at addressing all three of those issues so that it will give us relief from: chronic pain arthritis chronic tension tight muscles poor circulation This is an easy routine that includes an exercise from the Yijin Jing “muscle and tendon changing” qigong. This is one of the oldest forms of qigong that was designed to invigorate the soft tissue, joints, and increase blood circulation. You need to consume lower oxalate in your diet. You also need to increase citrates in the diet. Citrates combine with stones. 1. The best way to do this is with lemon juice and potassium citrate. Surgical treatments for shoulder arthritis include a variety of procedures: - Total shoulder replacement surgery is a well-established procedure performed to replace the diseased shoulder joint with artificial components. The damaged tissues are removed. The arthritic humeral head is replaced with a metal ball on a stem that fits inside the humerus, the socket is replaced with a plastic component made of high-density polyethylene. - Ream and Run Arthroplasty is a modification of total shoulder replacement procedure. The metal ball replaces the humeral head but the socket is simply shaped, smoothed to fit the ball and left to heal. No plastic component is used. With time, the body grows a cartilage layer on top of the socket. This procedure is recommended for younger and more active individuals. - Reverse total shoulder or Delta total shoulder replacement - is another modification of total shoulder replacement procedure. The conventional procedure has a metal ball on the humerus - replacing the natural humeral head, and a plastic component on the glenoid. The reverse procedure has the reverse positions of the prostheses: the metal ball is now fixed on the glenoid socket and the plastic cup is fixed in place of the humeral head. This configuration is indicated for people with rotator cuff arthropathy. Why a conventional total shoulder will not work with rotator cuff arthropathy? Rotator cuff arthropathy or cuff tear arthropathy is shoulder arthritis in a setting of rotator cuff tears. Rotator cuff muscles hold the ball and the socket together and prevent the humeral head from moving out of the socket when the deltoid muscle raises the arm. In people with torn rotator cuff, the head of the humerus moves upwards out of the socket resulting in shoulder instability. Conventional total shoulder preserves the natural configuration of the shoulder joint and therefore will encounter the same problem. Why a reverse total shoulder would work? In reverse total shoulder procedure, the arthritic humeral head is replaced with a plastic cup and the metal ball is fixed onto the glenoid surface. With this configuration, the contraction of the deltoid will move the arm up and compress the socket to the ball at the same time. The ball and the socket will fit more snugly together providing stability.

Whether we have an acute injury, long term pain, or a degenerative illness or disease we may need support. When we say “healing” we can talk about the medical and biochemical aspect of healing, such as blood circulation, medical intervention such as medication and surgery, white blood cells, protein synthesis, and nowadays, genetics and gene expression. All these aspects are quite important to heal the body. There is also another aspect of healing, that is not specifically medical, which involves aligning the body and mind so that our body can heal itself. There are many anecdotal stories of healing, remission, and miraculous cures. One has to be careful and discerning when hearing about these stories because we want to use all forms of healing (conventional and unconventional) to help us feel our best. Qigong is an ancient healing practice that was developed before the time of Western science. It is a combination of: -gentle movements -deep breathing -mental focus and intention When we practice these three elements together we give ourselves the best opportunity to heal. One explanation as to why Qigong helps the body is because we enter into the Flow state. The Flow state is similar to being in the “zone.” It’s when you are totally immersed in an activity (that you enjoy), and because you are so focused on what you are doing you can lose a sense of time and space. Sometimes that can be quite surprising. You’re working away at something for 15 minutes, only to discover that an hour has gone by! The good news is that entering into the Flow state can be easy – if we practice it. Qigong practices such as the one above can help you enter into the Flow state because it is easy to do, you are breathing, and activating your brain in many different ways. Not to mention the sequence just feels good! Try this routine and see how you feel. Follow along a few times, and soon enough you will remember the Qigong sequence and you can practice on your own. Symptoms vary on the type you have, but joint pain, tenderness and stiffness, inflammation in and around the joints, restricted movement of the joints, warm, red skin over the affected joint, and weakness and muscle wasting, are the usual signs. There are more than 100 types of arthritis and they all have risk factors, individual features, behaviours and circumstances that are associated with the condition, according to Arthritis Foundation. It states: “There are risk factors that are not modifiable. That means there is nothing you can do about them. Being female and having a family history of arthritis are two examples of factors that make people more likely - but not certain - to get some types of arthritis. ”But in contrast, some risk factors are considered to be modifiable. So how can you prevent rheumatoid arthritis? The nonprofit organisation advises that to prevent rheumatoid arthritis you should not smoke. Osteoarthritis, another comment type of arthritis, can be prevented by keeping a healthy weight. You can also reduce the risk of gout by eating a healthy diet, low in sugar, and alcohol. There’s no cure for arthritis, but the NHS lists prescribed medications under treatment, which includes painkillers, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and corticosteroids. Some health experts recommend more natural remedies to ease arthritis pain, such simple changes to diet, as well as exercise. Soaking in warm water is also one of the oldest forms of alternative therapy.“Research shows our ancestors got it right. It makes you feel better. It makes the joints losers. It reduces pain and it seems to have a somewhat prolonged effect that goes beyond the period of immersion,” Bruce E. Becker, director of the National Quatics & Sports Medicine Institute at Washington State University, told Arthritis Foundation. Soaking in warm water works. It reduced the force of gravity that’s compressing the joint, offers 360-degree support for sore limbs, can decrease swelling and inflammation and increase circulation. But how long should you soak in a warm bath for?Dr Becker added that patients he’s studied seem to reach a maximum benefit after about 20 minutes. You should also make sure you drink water before and afterward to stay well hydrated. Arthritis Foundation recommends that the temperature of the water be between 33.3 degrees Celsius and 37.7 degrees Celsius. If you have cardiovascular problems you should beware of water that’s too hot as it can put stress on the heart. It adds: “Warm water is great for relaxing, but it is also good for moving.Adding this fish dinner to your diet could reduce signs of rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis.

Nov. 9th it became legal for any adult 21 years or older to:     •  Possess, transport, obtain or give away to other adults 21 or older no more than one ounce of marijuana or 8 grams of concentrated cannabis.         •  Cultivate up to six plants per residence and possess the marijuana produced by these plants.  All plants and harvest in excess of one ounce must be kept in a locked space not in public view at one’s residence.  Local governments may still forbid cultivation outdoors, but must allow it inside a private residence or accessory structure that is “fully enclosed and secure.”         • Medical marijuana patients keep their existing rights under Prop 215 to possess and cultivate as much as they need for personal medical use so long as they have a doctor’s recommendation, regardless of the Prop 64 limits for adult users. Beware though that local governments may still restrict cultivation via nuisance ordinances (except for the six indoor plant minimum allowed for personal use).       Health & Safety Code §11362.5 (a) This section shall be known and may be cited as the Compassionate Use Act of 1996. (b) (1) The people of the State of California hereby find and declare that the purposes of the Compassionate Use Act of 1996 are as follows: (A) To ensure that seriously ill Californians have the right to obtain and use marijuana for medical purposes where that medical use is deemed appropriate and has been recommended by a physician who has determined that the person’s health would benefit from the use of marijuana in the treatment of cancer, anorexia, AIDS, chronic pain, spasticity, glaucoma, arthritis, migraine, or any other illness for which marijuana provides relief. (2) Nothing in this section shall be construed to supersede legislation prohibiting persons from engaging in conduct that endangers others, nor to condone the diversion of marijuana for nonmedical purposes. (c) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no physician in this state shall be punished, or denied any right or privilege, for having recommended marijuana to a patient for medical purposes. (d) Section 11357, relating to the possession of marijuana, and Section 11358, relating to the cultivation of marijuana, shall not apply to a patient, or to a patient’s primary caregiver, who possesses or cultivates marijuana for the personal medical purposes of the patient upon the written or oral recommendation or approval of a physician. Untreated rheumatoid arthritis can result in joint damage and deformities. The disease impacts on activities of daily living, capacity to work, and family life. Early diagnosis and medical intervention are critical to limiting structural damage and improving health outcomes. The Clinical Guideline for Diagnosis and Management of Early Rheumatoid Arthritis presents recommendations to assist and support clinical judgement of GPs in managing patients with rheumatoid arthritis. This program, in line with the Guideline, focuses on diagnosis, early management, and coordination of multidisciplinary care needs for people with rheumatoid arthritis. Pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions are reviewed. The Clinical Guideline recognises the need for every patient with rheumatoid arthritis to have a thorough assessment of their individual needs; access to a range of health professionals; and a comprehensive care plan. Your Body Is Acidic. Here’s What You NEED To Do. The Real Truth Behind Cancer. Have you Ever heard of Dr. Otto H. Warburg? Unless you or your family member has suffered from cancer and tried to cure it naturally, his name and research probably won’t ring a bell. Dr. Warburg is a Nobel prize winner best known for his work on the process of oxidation and the metabolism of tumors. According to the Nobel Prize Committee, “he has shown, among other things, that cancerous cells can live and develop, even in the absence of oxygen”. As you know, oxygen is essential for all life to thrive and survive. The fact that cancerous cells can thrive without it is perplexing, so here’s a little breakdown on how it works. Dr. Warburg discovered that “tumor cells obtain the energy required for their existence in two ways: by respiration [a process that requires oxygen] and by fermentation [an anaerobic process]. In respiration they burn organic materials to carbon dioxide and water; in fermentation they split glucose to lactic acid. Both carbon dioxide and lactic acid are acidic, meaning that cancer cells essentially thrive in an acidic environment. When tumors occur in oxygen-deprived environments, a protein called CHCHD4 triggers the release of HIF (hypoxia-inducible factor), a dimeric protein complex that encourages blood vessel formation around the tumor as well as tumor migration. This allows the tumor to continue to grow and spread throughout the body. Aggressive diseases like pancreatic cancers and gliomas (a form of brain tumor) contain higher levels of CHCHD4 than other cancers. “Summarized in a few words, the prime cause of cancer is the replacement of the respiration of oxygen in normal body cells by a fermentation of sugar. All normal body cells meet their energy needs by respiration of oxygen, whereas cancer cells meet their energy needs in great part by fermentation. All normal body cells are thus obligate aerobes, whereas all cancer cells are partial anaerobes.” Explained the Nobel Laureate. Dr. Waburg also noted that all the tumors he studied behaved the same, meaning that there is, in fact, a cure-all way to fighting cancer. “In order to kill tumor cells through want of energy it is necessary to stop respiration as well as fermentation.” He noted that all tumors studied at the time behaved the same. Since tumor cells have two ways of obtaining energy, starving them of glucose isn’t the best way to win the fight. Dr. Waburg suggested that “In order to kill tumor cells through want of energy it is necessary to stop respiration as well as fermentation.” The Acid-Alkaline Balance. Since cancer thrives in an acidic environment, one of the easiest ways to fight it is by making your body more alkaline. Acidic foods like dairy, red meat, refined grains and sugar are believed to contribute towards higher rates of cancer diagnosis and death because they contribute towards acidosis, a state in which your bodily fluids and/or tissues become too acidic. This state can lead to diseases like multiple sclerosis, high cholesterol, arrhythmia, immunodeficiency disorders, joint pain, osteoporosis, lethargy, chronic illness, heart disease, and diabetes. On the other hand, eating more alkaline foods, like fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains can help reverse the condition and improve overall health and wellbeing. Staying hydrated, well rested, and calm, and breathing deeply can also improve the condition. Two of the most powerful tools for alkalizing your body include lemon juice and baking soda. Baking Soda, or sodium bicarbonate, is produced by your pancreas to neutralize excess acid in the digestive system. Multiple people have found that they were able to cure their own cancer by ingesting baking soda. Nov. 9th it became legal for any adult 21 years or older to:     •  Possess, transport, obtain or give away to other adults 21 or older no more than one ounce of marijuana or 8 grams of concentrated cannabis.         •  Cultivate up to six plants per residence and possess the marijuana produced by these plants.  All plants and harvest in excess of one ounce must be kept in a locked space not in public view at one’s residence.  Local governments may still forbid cultivation outdoors, but must allow it inside a private residence or accessory structure that is “fully enclosed and secure.”         • Medical marijuana patients keep their existing rights under Prop 215 to possess and cultivate as much as they need for personal medical use so long as they have a doctor’s recommendation, regardless of the Prop 64 limits for adult users. Beware though that local governments may still restrict cultivation via nuisance ordinances (except for the six indoor plant minimum allowed for personal use).       Health & Safety Code §11362.5 (a) This section shall be known and may be cited as the Compassionate Use Act of 1996. (b) (1) The people of the State of California hereby find and declare that the purposes of the Compassionate Use Act of 1996 are as follows: (A) To ensure that seriously ill Californians have the right to obtain and use marijuana for medical purposes where that medical use is deemed appropriate and has been recommended by a physician who has determined that the person’s health would benefit from the use of marijuana in the treatment of cancer, anorexia, AIDS, chronic pain, spasticity, glaucoma, arthritis, migraine, or any other illness for which marijuana provides relief. (B) To ensure that patients and their primary caregivers who obtain and use marijuana for medical purposes upon the recommendation of a physician are not subject to criminal prosecution or sanction. (C) To encourage the federal and state governments to implement a plan to provide for the safe and affordable distribution of marijuana to all patients in medical need of marijuana. (2) Nothing in this section shall be construed to supersede legislation prohibiting persons from engaging in conduct that endangers others, nor to condone the diversion of marijuana for nonmedical purposes. (c) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no physician in this state shall be punished, or denied any right or privilege, for having recommended marijuana to a patient for medical purposes. (d) Section 11357, relating to the possession of marijuana, and Section 11358, relating to the cultivation of marijuana, shall not apply to a patient, or to a patient’s primary caregiver, who possesses or cultivates marijuana for the personal medical purposes of the patient upon the written or oral recommendation or approval of a physician. (e) For the purposes of this section, “primary caregiver” means the individual designated by the person exempted under this section who has consistently assumed responsibility for the housing, health, or safety of that person. The CUA/Prop.215 protects three groups of people: physicians, patients and caregivers. Physicians cannot be punished for recommend or approving the medical use of cannabis to patients.
