Anaphylactic Shock: Symptoms, Causes, and Treatment

07:01
Like, Comment, Subscribe and invite all your friends to see our videos. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfR3Y90G-fFDYI6i7E7xPBQ What is anaphylactic shock? When exposed to something they’re allergic to, some people experience a potentially life-threatening reaction called anaphylaxis. As a result, their immune system releases chemicals that flood the body. This can lead to anaphylactic shock. When your body goes into anaphylactic shock, your blood pressure suddenly drops and your airways narrow, possibly blocking normal breathing. This condition is dangerous. If it isn’t treated immediately, it can result in serious complications and even be fatal. What are the symptoms of anaphylactic shock? You will experience symptoms of anaphylaxis before anaphylactic shock sets in. These symptoms shouldn’t be ignored. They include: skin reactions such as hives, flushed skin, or pale skin suddenly feeling too warm feeling like you have a lump in your throat or difficulty swallowing nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea abdominal pain a weak and rapid pulse runny nose and sneezing swollen tongue or lips wheezing or difficulty breathing a sense that something is wrong with your body tingling hands, feet, mouth, or scalp If you think you’re experiencing anaphylaxis, seek medical attention immediately. You should also be aware of the symptoms of anaphylactic shock. These symptoms include: struggling to breathe dizziness confusion sudden feeling of weakness loss of consciousness What are the causes and risk factors of anaphylaxis? Anaphylaxis is caused by an overreaction of your immune system to an allergen, or something your body is allergic to. In turn, anaphylaxis can result in anaphylactic shock. Common triggers for anaphylaxis include: certain medications such as penicillin insect stings foods such as tree nuts, shellfish, milk, and eggs agents used in immunotherapy latex In rare cases, exercise and aerobic activity such as running can trigger anaphylaxis. Sometimes a cause for this reaction is never identified. This type of anaphylaxis is called idiopathic. If you aren’t sure what’s triggering your allergy attacks, your doctor may order an allergy test to look for what’s causing them. Risk factors for severe anaphylaxis and anaphylactic shock include: a previous anaphylactic reaction allergies or asthma a family history of anaphylaxis How is anaphylactic shock treated? The first step for treating anaphylactic shock will likely be injecting epinephrine (adrenaline) immediately. This can reduce the severity of the allergic reaction. At the hospital, you may receive cortisone and antihistamines intravenously. These help reduce inflammation in the air passages, improving the ability to breathe. Your doctor may give you beta-agonists such as albuterol to make breathing easier. You may also receive supplemental oxygen to help your body get the oxygen it needs. Any complications you’ve developed as a result of anaphylactic shock will also be treated. {The information provided on this channel and its videos is for general purposes only and should not be considered as professional advice. Ventolin(Ventolin, ProAir Respiclick, Proventil )Usage, Side Effects, Dose, Packing , benifits etc

05:24
Type of medicine Bronchodilator (a short-acting beta2 agonist) Used for Asthma and other airways-related problems Also called Accuneb®; ProAir HFA®; ProAir Respiclick®; Proventil HFA®; Ventolin HFA®; Available as Inhalation aerosol; dry powder inhaler; nebulizer solution Albuterol (also known as salbutamol) is called a bronchodilator medicine because it widens (dilates) your airways. It works by opening up the air passages in your lungs so that air can flow into your lungs more freely. This helps to relieve symptoms of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) such as coughing, wheezing and feeling breathless. It starts to work within a few minutes and the effect will last between 3-5 hours. Albuterol inhalers are often referred to as 'rescue' or ‘quick-relief’ medicines. This is because they relieve symptoms of breathlessness quickly. Although they relieve breathlessness, they do not prevent the breathlessness from happening. The colour and style of your inhaler device will depend on the brand your physician has prescribed; make sure you receive the same brand each time you collect your medicine. Ask your pharmacist if you are unsure. Before using your inhaler, read the manufacturer's printed information leaflet from inside the pack. The leaflet will give you more information about albuterolYou will receive a written asthma action plan from your physician to tell you how many puffs (inhalations) to use for each dose, and the maximum number of inhalations you should use in 24 hours. If you do not get relief from your symptoms after using the albuterol inhaler, you must contact your physician for advice straightaway.Do not smoke. Smoking causes irritation and damage to the lungs, and will make your condition worse. Speak with your physician or pharmacist for further advice if you are having difficulty in stopping smoking.Common albuterol side-effects What can I do if I experience this? Feeling shaky This feeling should soon pass. If not it may be a sign your dose is too high; let your physician know Headache If the headaches continue speak with your physician; it may be a sign your dose is too high Nervous tension, muscle cramps, being aware of your heartbeat If any of these become troublesome, speak with your physician or clinic If you experience any other symptoms which you think may be due to this medicine, speak with your physician or pharmacist.

Allergist Appointment and Shortness of Breath

02:33
Went to the allergist today. Was a follow up appointment about my asthma, but I mentioned the shortness of breath I've been having. Everything checked out with my lungs and the albuterol breathing treatment didn't help, so she recommended a cardiologist and full heart workup. I've already got an echo scheduled next month though, so my primary care wants me to wait until that comes back before proceeding there

FRESHII BURRITO MUKBANG | Deadly FLU outbreak 2018 | Single moms Story with H3N2 + Double Pneumonia

26:41
HELLO and welcome back to my channel today we are talking about my time with the Influenza A h3n2 virus + Double Pneumonia. I have now spent $300+ on medicines, $300+ on doctors copays and who knows what for an Emergency room visit....all from the flu and its complications in the month of jan/feb 2018 I actually wrote his for my health care policy homework but I find it important to share my story and urge even HEALTHY young adults to get help ASAP..... I found an interesting article in regards to the H3N2 Influenza virus however prior to discussing the article I want to give you a background summary of why this touches so close to home for me. SHARE THIS with your friends:... January 19-26 2018 I had the H3N2 Influenza virus. During this time I felt as though my chest was caving in, I was throwing up and had uncontrollable gastrointestinal issues. I first saw my doctor for the FLU and was diagnosed January 21st just two short days after it started, as I felt like I was going to pass out at this same time my 3 year old got the H3N2 Influenza as well and we were a pair of very very sick people. January 27-30 flu symptoms subsided but i had no voice and was getting short of breath so i went back to the doctor again on the 31, where i was seen for chronic Laryngitis and I was diagnosed with lower right lobe pneumonia. I started antibiotic and felt okay but I couldn’t stop coughing and couldn’t catch my breath this went on for a few days February 3rd i went back to the URGENT care to get checked for severe neck pain and ear infection as i couldn’t hear from my left ear and at this point I felt so sick that I was scared. I got x-rays again and the pneumonia spread to both of my lungs, and i was put on an even stronger antibiotic (Levaquin), i also have a pinched nerve in my neck and severe ear infection AND laryngitis at this point. February 5 i admitted myself to the ER as i couldn’t breath when dropping my son off at daycare, my Oxygen level was alarmingly low and heart rate was 170 this was scary for me, but i got fast treatment, new xrays for pneumonia, a EKG to see if my heart was okay, 3 breathing treatments, steroids for my lungs and 2 IV fluid bags, my heart was racing because i was again dehydrated. I was released from the hospital at 2pm after a 6 hour stay and went to see my Primary care doctor who prescribed me nebulizer albuterol to help me breath. February 7, I am on the mend however my three year old son starts showing signs of coughing. I take him in on February 9th and I was scared that he might of contracted Pneumonia from me. Sure enough he had single lung pneumonia and was put on antibiotics, the next day February 8 my son couldn’t stop throwing up and coughing, I called nurse on call and they sent us straight to Urgent care where his pneumonia spread to both lungs, he was them placed on steroids and double antibiotics. He is finally on the mend as of February 13 2018. Now that I have “aired my garbage” in a sense, you might be asking yourself why I am sharing personal information with you all. I am sharing this because I want people to know the importance of catching Flu symptoms as soon as possible. In the article linked below you will read about the severity of the Flu outbreak in Wisconsin. I am unsure if Minnesota’s flu season has been severe, however I live in Madison Wisconsin and people are dropping like flies. Now I must add that I got my flu shot, my son did not get a flu shot and I regret that decision. My son and I have been sick for a MONTH, and we are just now on the mend. One thing I disagree with in this article is the author states “if you’re generally healthy and you get the flu, you may only need to see a doctor if your fever goes higher, your cough gets worse or you have trouble breathing” The reason I disagree with this statement is because I am a “generally” healthy individual who doesn’t get sick often, my immune system is strong and I tend to bounce back from general colds and coughs quite quickly. I am a 26 year old young and healthy adult and I was taken out for a MONTH with the flu, and if I hadn’t been on top of my health I could have if people are just staying home and “Waiting it out” they can cause themselves more harm than good. Children and elderly are more susceptible to secondary illnesses due to weak immune systems however healthy adults are coming down fast with the illnesses as well because their immune system hasn’t been subject to this strand of the flu yet. HOW TO STOP AN ASTHMA ATTACK

03:23
Asthma is a breathing condition that a majority of people all around the world suffer from. Though we all like to believe that we're well prepared to handle any kind of emergency, it's always better to be acquainted with some things that we can do to stop an asthma attack, in case, God forbid, we're in a state of emergency with no medical assistance available. Step #1: Calm Down While this may seem very repetitive and practically impossible to do in the midst of an asthma attack, it is the first step that you need to take towards stopping an ongoing attack. Most often what happens is when a person feels the onset of an attack, he instantly panics. When he panics, it automatically increases the heart rate, which further contributes to the severity of the attack. So, when you're in the thick of one, first calm down and then follow the other instructions given below. Step #2: Distance the Trigger Once you have calmed down, you will be able to think clearly. Now, slowly look around and identify what has triggered off the attack. You will be well aware of the triggers that you get affected by. It could be dust, pollen, pollution, food, allergens, a particular scent, smoking, or even excess physical movement. Step #3: Breathing Exercises Once you have settled down away from the trigger of your attack, you can indulge in some simple breathing exercises that will help your breathing get back to normal and in turn, make the attack subside. A couple of these exercises have been given below. Sit down and hold your nose with your hand. Shut your mouth and hold your breath. Now, slowly shake your head in an up to down motion. Continue this until you feel suffocated. Then, slowly release your nose and slowly take in breath. If you cannot breathe through your nose, then let go of your nose, purse your lips and take in a little breath from the corner of the mouth. When you feel better, begin breathing slowly through your nose. Repeat this exercise after about a minute or two until your breathing reaches its regular pace. This second exercise involves sniffing in and out. You need to sit in an upright position with your hands on your knees. Bend forward a little and inhale 4 short sniffs. After you're done inhaling, you need to straighten up a bit and exhale one long breath. Then again bend a little and repeat the procedure twice before resting for about 10 seconds. Continue this exercise for about 10 minutes when you experience an attack, and you'll feel better. Step #4: Get Assistance If any of the steps given above fail and you feel like your symptoms are getting aggravated even after using an inhaler, check your peak flow meter to see what your respiratory condition is. If it reads below the required reading, rush to your doctor immediately. Waiting for an asthma attack to subside on its own can only be stretched for some time. You are the best judge of its severity. So, don't take any chances prolonging the period of discomfort. The best way to stop an asthma attack is undoubtedly preventing one in the first place. So, stay away from all the possible triggers, take your medication regularly, keep your inhaler at hand and your emergency numbers with you all the time. Avoid too much physical and mental stress and live a healthy life. 3 Ways to Tell if You Have High Blood Pressure Symptoms

03:13
This video, created by Nucleus Medical Media, shows high blood pressure, or hypertension. This is a common condition in which the force of blood on the walls of your arteries is often too high. While your blood pressure may change throughout the day, it should normally be less than 120 millimeters of mercury for systolic pressure, and less than 80 millimeters of mercury for diastolic pressure. If your systolic pressure frequently stays above 140, or your diastolic pressure frequently stays above 90, you have high blood pressure. 3D, medical, animation, high blood pressure, hypertension, artery, vasodilator, beta blockers, calcium channel blockers, plaque, sodium, salt,Hypertension (Disease Or Medical Condition), High blood pressure, lower high blood pressure, remedy to lower high blood pressure, lemon, mineral water, physical, symptoms, of, high, blood, pressure, weightlifting, instructional video, workout, fitness, exercise,

It's a Hard Knock Life with Asthma Song

02:32
This song is the result of a nursing school project focusing on asthma. Good luck for all of you who are considering and aspiring to make nursing your mission in life! Lyrics: "It's a hard knock life for us! It's a hard knock life for us! Tons o' mucous - Cough it up! Air obstruction - Not fun stuff! It's a hard knock life! Humid weather slows our flow. Pulse Ox is 90, and below! Gettin' dizzy And so blue. Respirations rise through the roof! It's a hard knock life! When we breathe our chest pulls in tightly, O2 levels can't seem to come up; So we puff our Albuterol inhaler - Sometimes just one puff is enough. Oh, it's scary to feel your lungs not working, The way they really ought to do. We've traded cigarettes for inhalers - Pursed lip breathing - out with CO2! AHHHHHHHH....... Heart beats faster when we're tight. Capillary refill.... Yikes! Blood's not getting to our heart fast enough for a kick start. Breathe slowly, 1, 2, 3 Here comes Ms. B - Who's she? ;-) Asthma comes on oh, so quick, But it's something we can lick. It's a hard knock life! We don't want a barrel chest! So we follow rules our best. Asthma is a pest .... And it's worse in times of stress. It's a hard knock life for us! It's a hard knock life for us! We can lick it if we do What the doctor tells us to! It's a hard knock life!"
