www.DrHagmeyer.com Of all the symptoms that woman can experience there is nothing quite as bad as hair loss. There are 5 reasons woman lose their hair we are going to review those with you. #2 I want to specifically talk about the Hormone DHT and its implication in Hair loss and finally I want to share with you some of The symptoms one might expect to experience if they had High DHT levels- symptoms other than hair loss. These might be early warning signs that if you ignore them, down the road you might be losing your hair. SO My Top 5 causes of hair loss boil down to problems with #1 Poorly functioning Liver and Gut (GI system) #2 High Stress levels or prolonged bouts of stress. Stress can throw a huge hormonal wrench into your hormone pathways. #3 An unhealthy diet- Let face it, diet affects everything and if your diet is not spot on, this is going to affects microcirculation of nutrient delivery to the scalp, its going to affect hormones. #4 Hormones (Sex Hormones and Thyroid hormones). Dr. Berg's Complete Hair Formula: https://bit.ly/2MzLZcS Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into the cause-effect relationship of your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. CORTISOL Low cortisol is when one has either a stress event (including losses). This could trigger alopecia (an autoimmune condition). It could be both high and low cortisol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66ujy... HIGH ESTROGEN This can also effect the hair by lowering the thyroid function. High estrogen blocks thyroid function. This could happen during the pregnancy when estrogen is spiked. However, right after the pregnancy, the estrogen drops and this can increase androgen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZDUo... INSULIN Increase insulin can trigger the increase of androgens, which turns into DHT effecting the hair. High androgens can cause PCOD, but its high insulin that causing that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTjDi... MENOPAUSE At menopause, estrogen drops, but not as low as testosterone, so the ratio makes testosterone higher this converts to DHT, thus effecting hair. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4uoj... THYROID Having a slow thyroid can effect hair. But most thyroid issues are secondary which means it's really not a thyroid problem itself. If the gallbladder is a problem, then T4 will not convert to T3. Also if estrogen is high, the thyroid will be inhibited. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3z9p... TESTOSTERONE If testosterone is high, it can turn into DHT thereby blocking the growth of hair. Or, the lower amounts of estrogen can make the testosterone appear to be too high. Dr. Jason Emer, a dermatologic cosmetic surgeon and an expert in facial and body rejuvenation from Beverly Hills/Los Angeles, CA, uses PRP and Progesteron injections to help this patient's hair growth. This patient was concerned with her thinning hair. The PRP is harvested from the patient's own blood and contains growth factors that help the the body rebuild. Blood is drawn from the patient and separated through a spinning process in a centrifuge. PRP can only be used on the patient it is harvested from. When injected into the scalp, it acts like fertilizer for the hair, allowing to grow stronger and thicker. When combined with Progesterone, a female hormone, other androgenic hormones are blocked so that no additional hair is lost based on your own genetics. Female pattern hair loss can be halted and fully reversed but the key is getting to the root cause of the problem as opposed to treating the symptoms. 1. Consider supplementing with natural progesterone as most women suffering from chronic hair loss have a deficiency of Progesterone. It’s important to understand that Progesterone acts as a precursor for many other important hormones in the body and a drop in its production will cause a spike in cortisol, the stress hormone. Applying between 15 to 20 milligrams of a high-quality progesterone cream will help correct androgen related female hormone imbalances. 2. Consider supplementing with Iodine every day. Many people suffering from female hair loss have an undiagnosed thyroid problem and low and/or heightened levels of thyroid hormones can result in diffuse hair loss. For example, T4 lengthens the Anagen hair growth phase and down regulates growth factor-beta2 in the hair follicle which is extremely important for hair growth. Taking Iodine will help optimize thyroid function which will normalize hyper androgenicity in the hair follicle. We recommend a quality brand. 3. The third exclusive tip we'd like to share with you is utilizing Ecklonia Cava which is one of the most multifaceted supplements you can add to your routine. It can stimulate hair growth, prevent hair follicle death, and research has also found that the enzyme responsible for hair and skin follicle degradation, Matrix Metallopretianse-9, is greatly inhibited by Ecklonia Cava. And last but certainly not least it even helps improve blood pressure and circulation which can aid in the condition of your health and hair. We recommend taking two a day, one in the morning and another at night. 4. The fourth recommendation is taking an Omega-3 fatty acid supplement every day. Specific hormones, called prostaglandins, can slow hair follicle growth and when left unchecked greatly contribute to hair loss by allowing another hormone called interleukin 6 to shorten the anagen hair growth stage and extend the catagen hair sleeping stage. Using an Omega-3 supplement on a daily basis helps to suppress this inflammatory prostaglandin which is a direct response to DHT. Additionally, Omega-3 provides important health benefits to the cardiovascular system, the immune system, supports healthy growth and development, and reduces inflammation. We recommend taking Krill Oil twice a day which is an excellent choice for getting the right amount of Omega-3 in the diet. 5. Stress and anxiety play a very significant role in diffuse thinning and female pattern hair loss. The simplest way to look at it is the more stressed you are the more cortisol rises, and everything become more sensitive with respect to androgen receptors. Inflammation becomes harder to combat, and a slurry of defenses are left unchecked and of little help against normal inflammation. So the next step is to get your cortisol levels under control. Supplementing with Ashwaganda on a daily basis can help bring the cortisol levels down until you are able to get the stress levels under control. 6. A very high percentage of females who suffer from polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) are allergic to wheat/gluten. Wheat/gluten causes a sustained elevation in blood glucose and insulin levels, which translates into chronic inflammation, upregulation of the gene Dickkoff-1 (which happens to drive DHT induced balding). Make sure to start eating a healthier diet that avoids gluten. 7. It’s always critical to use a topical aid to boost your hair and help alleviate the shedding until you get your body hormones under control. Your diet and the supplements help your body from the inside out, and an effective topical directly addresses the scalp and hair from another front. Avoid chemical based products such as Minoxidil and opt for a natural topical that does not create dependent hairs but rather stimulates and aids hair growth in a natural way In this case, we wholly endorse Nature Crazy’s Daily And Nightly Hair Tonic’s. https://naturecrazy.com/products/all-natural-telogen-effluvium-daily-scalp-tonic https://naturecrazy.com/products/all-natural-telogen-effluvium-nightly-scalp-tonic 8. Accidently snagging a bad shampoo can strip your hair of protective oils, cause breakage, and even contribute to hair loss which means choosing one with no sulfates or parabens. In this case, we also wholly endorse and recommend Nature Crazy’s daily shampoo and conditioner. https://naturecrazy.com/products/just-really-thick-hair-daily-shampoo https://naturecrazy.com/products/just-really-thick-hair-conditioner https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1832134 https://academic.oup.com/jcem/article-lookup/doi/10.1210/jc.2008-0283 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24252083 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21881585 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27538002 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3122153/

Examining the collective body of research and blood markers around all of these instances, you begin to see some painfully obvious patterns emerge. What do all of these situations have in common? Chronically Elevated Cortisol Levels Chronically Elevated Estrogen Levels (there is a feedback loop between cortisol and estrogen where they both increase one another over time as well) Low Thyroid Function Liberation of Free Fatty Acids In The Blood, which stimulates Estrogen production Chronically Elevated Prolactin Levels Mucopolysaccharide accumulation in the scalp tissue (Matrix for Calcification) Drops in protective hormone levels like Progesterone, with the simultaneous increase in stress hormone levels like cortisol and estrogen (This ratio matters) Control and balance these hormones through proper nutrition, micronutrient correction, and stress management and you will reverse your hair loss. Let’s look at some specific recommendations. I wanted to make sure I put together an action plan for anyone who needs to stop and reverse their hair loss: First off, controlling excess Estrogen: to control estrogen I recommend taking the following 4 step approach: Methylate the estrogen in your system (choline and betaine) Lose extra body fat above 15% Supplement with, or up the dietary intake of Vitamin A, K2, and D Drastically reduce your exposure to estrogenics in your environment and diet Second, controlling Cortisol: Cortisol comes down to stress management. This has both psychological and physiological components. On the psychological level, you must stop reacting to things. A shift from negative outlook to positive outlook is necessary. Most people overlook this or discount it as not important but control of your mind and your worldview is absolutely MASSIVE. On the physiological level, you must increase oxygen consumption by improving your breathing. Spend 10-20 minutes per day in deep breathing. Also stop eating crappy food, it is causing your body significant cellular stress! In terms of exercise, stop doing chronic endurance training, focus on heavy lifting and explosive movements with plenty of rest between sets and sessions. Third, lower your Prolactin levels: To lower prolactin quickly and naturally, I recommend supplementation with KSM-66 ashwagandha like we have in Testro-X. This study found https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19789214 a significant 15% drop in Prolactin in men taking ashwagandha while simultaneously increasing T production by 40%. Increase the amount of Vitamin E you’re getting in your diet, or use a Vitamin E supplement. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1490755 In this study, 300 mg’s of vitamin E for 8 weeks, decreased prolactin levels by a staggering 69% when compared to placebo in healthy human subjects. Also, I recommend using L-Dopa like you can find in the Truth Nutra Dopa Mucuna. Dopamine modulates the release of Prolactin. https://academic.oup.com/endo/article-abstract/94/4/1077/2621920?redirectedFrom=fulltext Also, up your zinc! One of the key symptoms of zinc deficiency is hair loss. And daily supplementation of zinc was found to cut male prolactin levels in half https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2753470 And last thing to do to decrease prolactin is to increase B6 consumption. B6 has been found to significantly increase Growth Hormone production while simultaneously slashing prolactin production https://academic.oup.com/jcem/article-abstract/42/3/603/2684599?redirectedFrom=fulltext 4. Improve your Thyroid function: For those with damaged thyroid (if you’re losing hair you have a damaged thyroid btw), you must do everything in your power to improve your thyroid function. I initially recommend people use a dessicated thyroid supplement to treat this and kickstart your thyroid again. I also recommend supplementing with iodine and selenium. Use this supplementation protocol for at least 4-8 weeks to correct deficiencies. Hair loss, hair fall, balding in men, women, and children across the board is caused by: High estrogen High cortisol High prolactin Low thyroid function All of these are caused by micronutrient deficiencies, chronic stress, and exposure to estrogenics through the environment and certain food sources (basically a high estrogen load) and with storage in excess body fat tissue. Hair fall solution hair regrowth baldness cure is all achieved by increasing protective hormones and decreasing stress hormones. Drops in protective hormones like progesterone, which highlights that this is ratio dependent. The ratio of stress hormones to protective hormones. And when stress hormones increase while protective hormones simultaneously drop, then things get really bad. 3. Hair follicles require glucose, fructose, and/or pyruvate to actually grow hair. They cannot grow hair using fatty acids or ketones Truth Nutra Products: Shop For Supplements - https://truthnutra.com/supplements Use code "YOUTUBE" For 10% Off!

Barbara Hoffman has been in the field of women's health and hormone balance for over 30 years. Barbara formulated 3 progesterone cremes with the guidance of Dr. John R. See the natural formula that can improve your testosterone levels and help your hair loss issue: 🤜http://drsam.co/yt/LowerEstrogenNow Or watch the first part: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRdsoOUp_hU ======================================= 🤦🏻♀️ Female Hormones Can Make Your Hair Fall - Hair Loss Part 4 ======================================= So far we’ve learned that people losing hair, are aging faster, they have lower testosterone levels - which means less muscle, energy and sex drive higher DHT levels - which means more hair loss, body hair and prostate problems. But do you know what’s the cause of these two hormonal imbalances?... It’s the increase in FEMALE hormones, primarily estrogens and more specifically, estradiol. Sadly, as estrogen levels rise, so do the other female hormones such as prolactin and even progesterone in some cases. So why is this so bad and why does it happen? WHY Is Estrogen Bad? Well, as estrogen and female hormones go up, it signals your HPTA system (Hypothalamic Pituitary Testicular Axis), to produce LESS testosterone. A man’s body doesn’t like high estrogen… that’s more for women. Because of this, it has its own, internal “estrogen inhibitor” and that’s DHT - the HAIR LOSS hormone! This is a VERY IMPORTANT concept to understand that 99% of people don’t know, so I’ll repeat it again. DHT is a natural estrogen inhibitor! So now you know why your DHT (the hair loss hormone) levels go up, it’s to lower your “high” estrogen - the REAL problem! I’m sure you’ve heard some guys being referred to as “short, fat… bald and hairy”, right? Well, the “short and fat” is from higher estrogen. The “bald and hairy” is from higher DHT. Yes, genetics plays a big role here, but our environment can make things much worse and speed up the negatives. WHY Does It Go Up? So why does estrogen go up? Well, there are lots of reasons… Unfortunately, due to modern society, there are lots of environmental, “external” reasons… Such as the foods we eat, plastics, chemicals found in everyday stuff, electronic devices and so forth. The good news is a lot of you can control, but unfortunately there’s just so many things that are out of our control or it’s just not convenient - like staying away from electronic devices. That’s not doable for most of us. Then there are “internal” reasons. Typically, as men age there is an increase in the “aromatase” enzyme, which converts testosterone to estrogen. Which explains why a man’s testosterone starts to drop in his mid 20’s and really falls in his 40’s and beyond. So, aging is a cause... Additionally, the higher your body fat, the higher your estrogen levels because your fat cells produce their own estrogen independently. And this turns into a negative cycle because the fatter you are, the more estrogen you produce… And the more estrogen you produce, the fatter you become! How Can You Lower Estrogen? It’s actually very easy since I’ve done it hundreds of times over the past two decades. Eat more natural, organic foods. Less processed foods. Limit or reduce anything with plastics, such as bottled waters and tupperware I know it’s almost impossible to reduce electronic device usage. But one thing is to NOT put your cell phone near your testicles and thus, NOT near your lap or in your pocket. Also, don’t microwave your foods, at all… especially in anything plastic! Lose body fat. And take natural estrogen inhibiting herbs such as DIM, Curcummin and White Button Mushroom Extract. These herbs work really fast and can be almost as powerful as drugs, but without any of the negative side-effects. ======================================== Thank you for watching. PRP and Progesterone for hair 💁🏻 growth because nobody wants a bad #hair day! Gorgeous, thick hair is extremely desirable and as we get older our hair tends to thin and fall out. I use Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Progesterone to fertilize the hair and stimulate growth. Plasma is taken from your own blood and pulled for injection. It contains 🔋growth factors so when injected 💉into the scalp stimulates thickening and growth. We combine this with Progesterone, a female hormone, used to block other hormones at the scalp level. Both can be injected locally and over time work well to fertilize the hair and stimulate hair growth. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dr. Jason Emer is a board-certified dermatologic surgeon in Beverly Hills, California. Hair loss, more commonly referred to as Male Pattern Baldness, is an intriguing phenomenon. I’ve heard people proclaim before that they can’t believe that something like hair loss, hair fall, or balding hasn’t already been solved, yet we can put a man on Mars, and we can destroy entire cities with nuclear weapons. The truth is: The cause of hair loss has already been solved. The research exists, and it’s sitting right in plain sight, where anyone can find it. I’ll show it to you today. But thanks to our old friends Greed and Dogma, going under the monickers these days of Big Pharma and Big Science, nobody will hear about it. In this case billion dollar drugs like Finasteride are creating life-altering - often irreversible, side effects in thousands of men every year, including documented suicides, and it’s time we shine some light on the darkness. Like most things, the Truth is staring us right in the face. By the end of this video I will have shown you the REAL cause of hair loss in humans. You will know why you’re losing hair, and what you can do to stop it without going through hair transplant. First, I’m going to trace back the current “understanding” of male pattern baldness. What do the masses believe is the cause of hair loss, and why do they believe it? Where did that information come from and who wins from this dogmatic view, while others lose? I’ll show you the rather large inconsistencies in this present - dogmatically accepted - hypothesis of hair loss, but it’ll become quite obvious why the mainstream public is not aware of those discrepancies. Then I’m going to show you what ACTUALLY causes hair loss in men. This information is interestingly hiding right in front of our faces, yet nobody seems to see it, and why I believe this is actually another clever trick being played in the name of profit. So buckle up, and let’s dive into today’s Truth Tuesday. I wanted to make sure I put together an action plan for anyone who needs to stop and find a hair loss remedy for receding hairline, hair regrowth, and baldness cure: First off, controlling excess Estrogen: to control estrogen I recommend taking the following 4 step approach: Methylate the estrogen in your system (choline and betaine) Lose extra body fat above 15% Supplement with, or up the dietary intake of Vitamin A, K2, and D Drastically reduce your exposure to estrogenics in your environment and diet If you're interested in seeing me formulate a natural supplement for hair regrowth, please sign up for the Waiting List here - https://truthnutra.com/hairloss Follow Me On Social Media: Website: https://truthnutra.com/yt Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/truthnutra/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/truthnutra/ Personal Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_christopherwalker/ Truth Nutra Products: Shop For Supplements - https://truthnutra.com/supplements Shop For Books - https://truthnutra.com/books Shop For Apparel - https://truthnutra.com/apparel Use code "YOUTUBE" For 10% Off! New York oculoplastic and reconstructive surgeon Amiya Prasad, M.D. reviews their concerns in this video, explaining hormones are not the only cause of pattern hair loss, and how the permanence of ACell + PRP treatment can only be determined after prolonged, or longer term use of the treatment: 1:43 — Dr. Prasad details his background training in cosmetic oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery, as well as his experience as a hair loss specialist and founder of TrichoStem™ Hair Regeneration Centers 2:23 — How lowered testosterone results in lowered DHT levels 3:07 — How androgenetic alopecia is not only caused by the presence of DHT; and how the effectivity of the ACell + PRP combination is not indefinite, particularly in those who are not taking a DHT blocker or hair loss medication 4:54 — How the effectivity of hair loss drugs like finasteride is dependent on the individual’s relative sensitivity to DHT 5:51 — How female pattern hair loss is not treated in the same manner as male pattern hair loss; and how Hair Regeneration can effectively address female pattern hair loss 7:04 — How it is beneficial to improve the skin quality of the scalp 8:24 — Dr. Prasad’s recommendation CONNECT WITH US! Are you needing some support with your hormonal imbalance symptoms? In this video I talk about where my body is at today. I discuss things you may not know about what will happen once you start healing your body. I don’t often speak on this subject but something feels like it needs to be shared. Let's discuss life beyond PCOS / Endometriosis / Fibroids / Ovarian Cysts / Any Hormonal Imbalance. It’s been 1.5 years since my symptoms stopped and my period returned regularly. If you are unfamiliar with my journey, just know that I went to hell and back with my symptoms. I was a severe case in every single possible symptom PCOS displays internally and externally. After coming off the pill not only did my period disappear for 14 months, the PCOS symptoms came on full-swing and an array of other health problems started showing up… gut dysbiosis, candida and chronic psoriasis just to name a few. My body was a WRECK. I share this video to offer you a glimpse of where you are headed for. We often lose site of what life could or would be on the other side of this mess. We get so lost in the fear and doubt… We lose all hope that things will ever get better. I am here to tell you they will. Watch this video to understand the possibilities that await you on the other side of this rather painful and challenging door you are now walking through.

Unlike Acute Telogen Effluvium, this type of Chronic Telogen Effluvium may carry on for years in patterns which fluctuate. In other words, Chronic Telogen Effluvium is a long-term condition. Instead of your hair thickening back to its original state, you might still be experiencing gradual diffusing of your hair over a period of years. Other key differences include: constant hair and scalp pain, as well as no particular noticeable trigger for the onset of Chronic Telogen Effluvium. The good news is that Chronic Telogen Effluvium and the damage to the body can be reversed but it’s more critical than ever to get to the root cause of the problem as opposed to treating the symptoms externally with drug based hair products. In today’s video Nature Crazy, will be sharing our top 6 secrets for reversing chronic telogen effluvium the right way. We have 6 recommendations proven through science that will naturally thicken your hair and help put a halt to the shedding hair loss. 1. (This tip is for women only) Consider supplementing with natural progesterone as most women suffering from chronic hair loss have a deficiency of Progesterone. It’s important to understand that Progesterone acts as a precursor for many other important hormones in the body and a drop in its production will cause a spike in cortisol, the stress hormone. Applying at least 15 milligrams of a high-quality progesterone cream will help correct androgen associated female hormone disparities. https://www.iherb.com/pr/Now-Foods-Natural-Progesterone-Liposomal-Skin-Cream-Unscented-3-oz-85-g/779?rcode=GSV403 2. Consider supplementing with Iodine every day. Many people suffering from Chronic Telogen Effluvium have an undiagnosed thyroid problem and low and/or heightened levels of thyroid hormones can result in diffuse hair loss. For example, thyroxine (T4) lengthens the Anagen hair growth phase and down regulates growth factor-beta2 in the hair follicle which is extremely important for hair growth. Taking Iodine will help optimize and correct thyroid function. We recommend a quality brand. https://www.iherb.com/pr/TPCS-Iosol-Formula-II-1-fl-oz-30-ml/4785?rcode=GSV403 3. Supplementing with a combination of Curcumin and Resveratrol which together block the Cannabinnoid receptor-1 which is responsible for detrimental hair growth cues due to stress and anxiety. These two supplements will help chronic telogen effluvium sufferers take that hair regrowth obstacle out of the way. We recommend supplementing with both Curcumin and resveratrol daily. https://www.iherb.com/pr/Now-Foods-Natural-Resveratrol-60-Veggie-Caps/7730 https://www.iherb.com/pr/Jarrow-Formulas-Curcumin-95-500-mg-60-Veggie-Caps/106 4. Scientists are now discovering that almost all types of chronic auto-immune diseases are directly tied to stress and inflammation which can cause deficiencies in the immune system. And chronic telogen effluvium hair loss is no exception. Eating a diet rich in omega-3 fats and low in omega-6 fats is the very best way to reverse chronic inflammation damage and return our bodies to a state of balance. Taking an omega-3 supplement every day should help speed your recovery along even more. We recommend Krill Oil. https://www.iherb.com/pr/Now-Foods-Neptune-Krill-Oil-500-mg-60-Softgels/14424 5. Use a topical aid to boost your hair and help alleviate the shedding until you get your body hormones under control. Make sure to avoid chemical based products and opt for a natural product formulated specifically for telogen effluvium. We wholly endorse Nature Crazy's TE Daily and Nightly scalp tonic. https://naturecrazy.com/products/telogen-effluvium-treatment-bundle 6. You can probably pick out shampoo faster than it takes you to read our recommendations, but accidently snagging a bad one can strip your hair of protective oils, cause breakage, and even contribute to hair loss which means choosing one with no sulfates or parabens. If you’re wondering what a good shampoo is anything with essential oils or coconut oil. This week, Brett Newcomb and I continue our discussion on the differences between medicine that is personalized and medicine that is directed by guidelines. We focus our attention specifically on this dichotomy in regards to the side effect of hair loss. drkathymaupin.com/hair-loss-as-a-side-effect-of-hormone-replacement

We're going to talk about hair loss in women. Not so much in men. I'll talk about that another time. Hair loss can occur for many different kinds of reasons, but some of the primary reasons I see with women will be hormonal problems. Different hormones are involved when it comes to losing the hair and it also depends on the cause, of course. The cause is something we need to look at very carefully. How old are you when you lose your hair? Are you a younger woman? Are you a woman who has just had a baby? Are you perimenopausal, menopausal or are you postmenopausal? Estrogen, testosterone and progesterone are very, very important hormones when it comes to hair, maintaining good hair. Hair loss in many cases can be attributed to an imbalance of one of these hormones. Thyroid hormones also play a very important role when it comes to maintaining good hair. Many women who have overactive or underactive thyroid can have a lot of hair loss. This can often be found on the face, around the edges of the eyebrows, pubic hair, head hair. Older women 60 plus when they start losing hair or getting balding around the top here, I start looking at testosterone and estrogen levels. I find those to be very important. When it comes to pregnancy, many women develop hair loss around pregnancy. They can brittle nails or hair problems. Many different issues can occur. If we look at the hormone, progesterone, for example. It's very high during pregnancy. Extremely high. But when you give birth of the placenta, the levels can drop from very high to very low over night. Progesterone is a critical one for hair loss, particularly pregnancy. That's an interesting one I'll explain to you a little bit. When you have the high level of progesterone during pregnancy, it makes you feel really good about yourself. Progesterone is a very important hormone or what I call the "feel good" hormone for women. Progesterone helps to stop anxiety. It's a very strong anti-inflammatory as well, so it stops pain in their body. If you think about this big baby, this big lump here in front of you growing, it's going to put a lot of pressure on your lower back and your hips on the ligaments and muscles and the whole pelvic region. That's got to hurt like crap. Progesterone being 500 times higher even more when you're in that stage of pregnancy, then when you're not pregnant, it's very important because it's going to stop all that pain. But also remember, I may have mentioned in a previous video that the first drugs that were designed for anxiety were based on the molecule progesterone. We also know progesterone is very important to stop anxiety. This explains why many women who give birth, the placenta's gone, progesterone plummets to zero just about. It can take a while for them to ovulate again because progesterone comes up again with ovulation. If they haven't got sufficient progesterone in their body, they're going feel pain. They're going to be anxious. Then they've got a crying baby and that can really add to the stress. Adrenal glands make progesterone as well. Ovaries make it and the adrenals make it. In fact, the ovaries help to produce the sex hormones, estrogen, and progesterone. What I'm trying to say is hormones need checking out when you've got hair loss. Saliva is a good way to do it. There's a test I often do now with many patients called the DUTCH, dried urine test comprehensive hormones, or DUTCH test. That test can be done on women who have got their period or it can also be done with big advantage when women are going through the change, perimenopause or menopause or postmenopause. It's often a good time to assess the hormones to see what the heck is going on. If you're noticing things like anxiety, irritability, hair loss, memory loss, accelerated aging, vaginal dryness, not interested in sex at all, all that kind of stuff. Many of these symptoms will often be together and often hair loss is one of the big annoying symptoms. Then get the hormones assessed. Let's see what the heck is going on and try to get some balance back in the hormones again. It can make a big difference in your life. Thyroid is a big one. If the thyroid is underactive or overactive. Testing for thyroid stimulating hormone or TSH testing is a very good thing to do. Check your body basal temperature. Basal temperature testing can help. It's not really the main test I would recommend. If you're basal temperature is consistently below 36 centigrade for many days in a row away from your period, then you could well have hypothyroidism, especially if your thyroid stimulating hormone or TSH level is high, then you need to act on that. There's many ways to assess thyroid.

The vascular supply of the scalp is derived from branches of the internal carotid artery and branches of the external carotid artery. The frontal region of the scalp, which loses hair in male pattern baldness, is supplied by the supraorbital and the supratrochlear arteries. These are relatively small branches of the internal carotid artery system. The temporal [sides] and occipital [back of head] regions of the scalp, which do not lose hair in male pattern baldness, are supplied by larger branches of the external carotid artery. Specifically, these are the superficial temporal, posterior auricular, and occipital arteries. Further, the frontal and vertex regions of the scalp overlie the galea aponeurotica, which is relatively avascular. The temporal and occipital regions of the scalp overlie the temporalis and occipitalis muscles, which provide a rich network of musculocutaneous perforator blood vessels. These anatomic differences contribute to the tenuous nature of the dermal blood supply to the frontal and crown regions of the scalp." "We hypothesized that this difference in pattern of prostaglandin D-synthase expression may constitute a developmental pattern inherent to normal as well as alopecic scalp skin, thus defining a ‘field’ vulnerable to acquired hair loss." “These data indicate that scalp is spatially programmed via mast cell prostaglandin D-synthase distribution in a manner reminiscent of the pattern seen in androgenetic alopecia.” "In a prior study of male pattern alopecia, increased numbers of mast cells have been seen in balding vertices compared to non-balding occipital scalp and, in fact, this pattern was also observed in five control subjects studied, though there were greater numbers of mast cells in the patients with alopecia.” "In the 1990’s mast cells were found to be actively degranulating in the inflammatory infiltrates of scalp with male pattern alopecia and this was proposed to contribute to perifollicular fibrosis.” "Mast cells express the high-affinity estrogen receptor and studies have shown that estrogens augment their activities: in the presence of high levels of estrogens, mast cell responses to compound 48/80 are increased, leading to more substantial degranulation and release of histamine and serotonin.” "Progesterone is necessary for the maintenance of pregnancy and plays a key role in maintaining cervical integrity prior to labour induction. Progesterone can prevent the migration of mast cells in response to chemokines and down-regulate surface chemokine receptor expression. In addition, mast cell function can be altered by the presence of high concentrations of progesterone. For example, progesterone inhibits the secretion of histamine from mast cells. Notably, these observations would suggest that mast cells present within the uterus during pregnancy are quiescent and inhibited by high levels of progesterone, and also that recruitment of mast cell progenitors from the circulation may be limited.” "At present the prevalence of allergies, including allergic rhinitis, hayfever, eczema, food allergies and urticaria, is rising." "Results from this study provide the first evidence of a unique regulatory mechanism by which CO2 inhibits mast cell degranulation and histamine release by repressing stimulated increases in intracellular calcium. Thus, our data provide a plausible explanation for the reported therapeutic benefit of noninhaled intranasal delivery of 100% CO2 to treat allergic rhinitis." 1. Progesterone can cause weight loss or weight gain depending on the situation. If you are interested in losing weight while taking progesterone you will want to make sure you are doing 4 things: - Make sure you are taking bio identical progesterone. - Make sure you are using progesterone correctly (through the transdermal route). - Make sure you are taking it at the right time of the month (days 14-28 of your cycle). - And make sure you are not using TOO much for your body. This guide will walk you through who should use progesterone for weight loss and who should avoid it. If you use progesterone in this way there is a good chance it will actually help with weight loss. Using progesterone if you have normal levels of progesterone may lead to weight gain and other symptoms of progesterone excess. After Monika had a hysterectomy, her health went downhill. She had mood swings, hot flashes, trouble sleeping, hair loss, anxiety and she was cold and tired all the time. Her doctor put her on Premarin and antidepressants, but that made her feel worse. Once she came to the Hotze Health & Wellness Center and was placed on bioidentical hormones and thyroid, she got her energy back! Monika feels great today!

View more videos and info about PRP on Dr. Green's website at https://www.michelegreenmd.com/ Hair loss is a huge problem today. I have so many male and female patients who suffer from hair loss, and don't realize that there are simple and effective ways to treat this. What I do is I bring you into the office and we do a formal evaluation. We look at your hair, your skin, your nails. We draw blood, and we determine what the cause of your hair loss is. There are many different reasons, ranging from autoimmune, to genetic, to hormonal reasons, and we have to figure out what the best treatment is based on why you're losing your hair. A lot of my patients are looking for a more natural way to treat this hair loss, and the answer is PRP (platelet rich plasma). PRP has been a game changer for patients who want non-surgical, holistic approach to treating their hair loss. What we do for PRP is that we take your blood, much as you would a simple blood test. We then centrifuge the blood, and remove out the platelet rich plasma, again, the PRP, which has your natural growth factors in there. What these do, these stimulate and regenerate new hairs in your scalp. So I will bring you into the office, and we'll do three PRP treatments into the scalp. We come in, we numb you topically for a few minutes - 30 minutes later, we will inject you with the PRP directly into the scalp. It doesn't hurt. There's no downtime. You can go back to work the same day. It's amazing, because it's a non-surgical, non-chemical, natural way to stimulate your body's own cells to produce hair, and that's why it's become so appealing to so many patients.
