How long will pain last after Root canal?

06:12
How long will pain last after Root canal? Most people associate having a root canal with a lot of pain and discomfort. However, while most people can expect some discomfort during and after a root canal procedure, excessive pain is not normal. Modern technology and the use of anesthetics make this procedure quick, safe, typically pain-free, and an excellent way to help save the natural tooth. However, to avoid needing root canal treatment, anyone who has a toothache should see a dentist promptly to prevent any infection from getting worse, forming an abscess, or spreading throughout the tooth root system. Fast facts on pain after a root canal: A root canal will treat the diseased tissue (pulp), while preserving the rest of the tooth. A person will be given anesthetic before the procedure, so it is usually no more painful than a typical dental filling. If a root canal fails, redoing it can fix the problem.

How to manage complications post Root Canal Treatment? - Dr. Sangeeta Honnur

03:46
There are complications that can happen post RCT. Some are the immediate complication and some are the delayed complications. The immediate complication is after the root canal is completed, the patient will feel some amount of pain. The pain can linger on for couple days to several days. The pain will settle in a couple of days and that is what is expected if the root canal treatment has gone well. The way we can manage this is by any NSAID’s or pain killers that are prescribed. If there is any pain in the anesthetic site, then ice pack is advised. If the patient gets anesthetized for the upper tooth then we ask the patient to keep the bed elevated and rest till the pain subsides. The other thing is immediately treating the tooth is having a post, a complete permanent filling and a crown is important in managing the immediate complications, the delayed complications can be a root canal failing itself or we do a regular checkup and we see that the root canal has failed. So we have to manage those complications. So we have to do re- RCT has to be done on that tooth. So the same procedure has to be done to hope that the whole root canal tooth is opened again and retreated and if there is an additional procedure then apicectomy is the procedure that we doing a filing root canal. In apicectomy what we do is that the gum that is opened up like a flap on the tooth, an incision is given from the gums. You open it up and reach the tipoff the root and that is where all the infection is collected and the bone is destroyed, you scoop it up and clean that area and the tipoff that root is cut and then a filling is done at the apico. “Apico” is the tip of the root and “cectomy” is basically cutting it and a filling is kept at the end of the root to cover it. Then the incision is closed back and sutured and we hope that is heals well and the tooth can be retained this way. The prognosis is very poor for the root canal if there are complications and extraction is actually advised after the extraction so that the patient can actually get an implant or a bridge work after that.
Why This Dentist Refuses To Perform Root Canals

11:12
This dentist refused to perform root canals for over 20 years, here is why. For an adult, a root canal is a common procedure. It might seem like a wise choice because it helps treat and also protect any tooth that has become toxic. Thankfully, Dr. Robert Kulacz, a dentist and author of the book The Toxic Tooth: How A Root Canal Could Be Making You Sick, has done extensive research to answer the question: “Is it wise to get a root canal?” #Dentist #RootCanal #RootCanalTherapy Timestamps: 1 - What Is A Root Canal? 1:19 2 - Root Canal Bacteria Can Worsen Other Diseases 03:48 3 - Root Canal Teeth Can Get Infected Over Time 4:52 4 - Necrotic Tissue Can Cause Problems 05:16 5 - How to Avoid A Root Canal 05:52 6 - Brush With Toothpaste Containing Fluoride 07:27 7 - Root Canal Alternatives 07:59 8 - Extraction 08:46 9 - Dental Bridges 09:14 10 - Cantilever bridges 09:52 11 - Maryland Bridges 10:04 12 - Implant-Supported Bridges 10:14 13 -Pulp capping 10:28 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music Summary: let’s analyze why Dr. Kulacz has refused to perform root canals for over 20 years. What Is A Root Canal? The Canadian Dental Association defines a root canal procedure as the process of removing infected, injured or dead pulp from a tooth. When bacteria enter your tooth through deep cavities, cracks or even flawed fillings, your tooth can become abscessed. An abscessed tooth is a tooth that has become infected with pulp. If this pulp becomes infected, doctors will recommend that it needs to be removed. If it’s not, it can cause pain and swelling. Root Canal Bacteria Can Worsen Other Diseases: Because a root canal tooth is technically infected, it can contribute to certain health problems which include heart disease, according to Kulacz. Root Canal Teeth Can Get Infected Over Time: Kulacz explains that because root canal teeth no longer have a blood supply, the bacteria is essentially hidden from the immune system. What’s worse is that the root canal can become more infected because of the influx of bacteria from the gum tissue that is surrounding the tooth. Necrotic Tissue Can Cause Problems: When someone gets a root canal, the tooth is no longer alive. This means that it should never be left in your body. Take appendicitis for example; the doctor doesn’t just isolate it; he completely removes your appendix. Unfortunately, when it comes to a root canal, this rule is not applied, according to Kulacz. He adds that when patients came to him as a last resort, their chronic health issues were resolved once he removed their root canal and the infection was treated. How to Avoid A Root Canal: According to Main Street Dental Clinics, there are a few ways you can avoid having root canal treatment. The first way is to maintain a healthy diet. According to Ramiel Nagel, the author of Cure Tooth Decay, the human body can protect itself from infection when we consume food that keeps our body balanced. According to Colgate, eliminating sugars from your diet and replacing them with fruits and vegetables also helps. Brush With Toothpaste Containing Fluoride: The Carlson Biological Dentistry states that brushing your teeth every day with fluoride toothpaste can help scrub away the bacteria that is causing cavities. Fluoride gives your teeth extra protection against decay. Extraction: One alternative to root canal is extraction. When a tooth is extracted, it is completely removed from a patient’s mouth. This form of treatment is not usually performed unless the tooth is so severely damaged that it cannot be saved any other way. It is often used as a last resort in the event that the tooth cannot be saved with any other type of treatment. Dental Bridges: In the event that a dentist determines your tooth needs to be extracted, you may want to consider dental bridges. Dental bridges help to close the gap between two missing teeth. They are made of multiple crowns which are found on either side of the gap around an artificial tooth. Cantilever bridges: These bridges are very similar to traditional bridges, but are supported by a crown on just one side. Maryland Bridges: Maryland bridges are held in place by a piece of framework made of two wings of metal on each side of a crown. Implant-Supported Bridges: Implant-supported bridges are used to support multiple gaps in a person’s teeth, and are supported by dental implants rather than dental crowns. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe to Bestie : https://goo.gl/tUqro6 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bestieinc/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.bestie.com/

Say NO to Root Canals - Damaging to your Health

09:10
One of the biggest medical cover-ups in history involves root canals. The biggest mistake I ever made with my own health was listening to a dentist who told me I needed a root canal. This damaged my immune system for years. It also set me on a search which lasted more than a decade to figure out why, as a result of allowing a root canal into my mouth, the health of my whole body was damaged. Here’s what you need to know: Root canal procedures are not safe. And the irony of it all is that your dentist probably doesn’t even know this. The American Dental Association—together with most dental colleges around the world—has been denying the dangers implicit in root canal procedures for generations. Way back in the 1920s, world-renowned dentist and dental researcher Weston A. Price carried out exhaustive studies on the fundamentals of dental infections and how they can cause systemic bodily infections and degenerative diseases. After years of study, Price reported that he was never able to find one root canal-treated tooth that did not eventually become seriously infected. Since then, exhaustive research by other cutting-edge dentists, who have been courageous enough not to buy into the official party line, has confirmed Price’s findings again and again. All root canal teeth are completely dead. And no dead tissue should ever be left in your body. Would a surgeon removing a necrotic organ in your body leave pieces of it in your tissues? Absolutely not! Yet this is exactly what takes place in a root canal. When a dead tooth is sealed, the environment becomes anaerobic. Bacteria can then morph into their anaerobic forms and reproduce prolifically within the dentine, creating noxious toxins. You see, a root canal is an ideal medium for this to take place by supplying warmth, nutrients, and water. The immune system is unable to deal with the problem because the dead tooth has no blood supply. Yet most, if not all, dentists still believe that leaving a dead root canal tooth stuck into your jaw will cause no problem. And this is exactly what endodontists—dentists highly-trained as root canal specialists—do. They clear out all blood vessels, connective tissue, and infected nerves from your tooth’s pulp chamber. Then they widen and reshape it in preparation to receive the filler substance, which is often gutta-percha. By doing this, they are attempting to create sterility. But here’s the rub: No amount of medication used in an attempt to sterilize these tubules has ever shown itself capable of accomplishing this. There is simply no way of eliminating bacteria hidden in the tubules. They can harbor masses of bacteria and diseased tissue. And, since the tooth is completely dead—nothing more than a moribund hunk of material—your jaw becomes the ideal place for toxic by-products to be produced. Because a dead tooth’s blood supply and oxygen supply no longer exist, bacteria present in the space between the upper gum and the crown of the tooth can easily make their way into the porous dentine tubules, not only infecting the area around the dead tooth but your gums as well, causing gingivitis and then periodontitis. Fair warning. But root canal procedures are great money-makers. Each year, endodontists in the Western world carry out a mind-boggling 30 to 40 million root canal procedures. I found out about all this the hard way when I came to experience for myself just how devastating the seepage of pathogenic and poisonous by-products can be. So here’s the bottom line: Refuse to accept what you are told about how safe root canals are supposed to be, regardless of how nice your dentist is. Carry out your own research. Discover first-hand the truth behind the root canal cover-up. It could change your health and your whole life for the better. Read some of the books I have listed below. Also contact responsible organizations for information on root canals, such as the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology. You’ll be glad you did. ROOT CANAL DAY - Painful? Scary? I'll let you know!

10:28
Today I had my very first root canal. It was a fairly sudden decision to have it done after my tooth became severely painful a few days ago. I hadn't done any research and didn't know what to expect. A friend had told me that her root canal hurt for over a week and it was the worst thing ever. Another friend from work had just had one done last week and had to take an extra day off work due to the pain. I really didn't know what to expect but my biggest fear was, of course, the needle! I hadn't been to the dentist's in over 10 years and I didn't realize that technology has come a long way since then! The needle was way better than the huge, metal, barbaric ones I remember from my childhood. Actually, the whole procedure was perfectly fine! No pain, barely any discomfort at all! And it felt like it only took half an hour!! All in all, it was a pretty awesome experience! And for the price I paid... it better have been! Root Canal Treatment Demonstration. A how to procedure on Front Tooth in HD.

03:55
Learn the steps that go into a standard root canal on an upper, front tooth. The Root canal begins with anesthesia, followed by prepping the area, then drilling into the center of the tooth (the canal). Then the dentist uses a combination of hand and rotary files to clean out the canal and remove the nerves. Intermittent irrigation follows before sealing the canal and putting in the root canal filling (gutta percha). Part 2 is the installation of a post & core for a crown. What causes persistent swelling after Root Canal Treatment? - Dr. Sangeeta Honnur

02:18
Many at times we have patients who come and say that they do have a persistent swelling in the area where they have had a root canal done early, may be recently. The swelling may or may not be present when they come to us. What is important in the diagnosis is what is the origin of this swelling what we see. If the origin is of the root canal, any kind of pain or the history that is given by the patient or by percussion where the dentist taps and checks where if there is pain in that area or by radiographs done. Usually if there is a swelling associated with the root canal, we can see right at the tip of the tooth where the swelling is happening or it could be at the side of the root all along the root surface. The main reason for this is a failing root canal that was done recently or long time ago. The swelling usually does not bother, many at times the patients say that it does not hurt us. The reason for that is when the infection happens in the tooth, it starts burrowing the bone from there. As it makes its way through the bone and it has an outlet to drain out. That is pus that is formed there. So once the pus is drained out, the swelling really doesn’t hurt, but what is keeps doing is, it keeps destroyed the surrounding bone and the other teeth that are the healthy teeth are compromised because of this. So it is very important to check the prognosis of this. If it is of the tooth origin, and to address it at the earliest.

Pain After Root Canal Tucker - Call the trusted and experienced dentist in Atlanta GA area today (770) 285-0088 or visit http://cli.re/L25kxo. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Essential Points to Bear in mind When Employing a New Dentist Some people who decide to see a dentist just since the office is close to their homes or since they like an advertisement they've seen in the paper. The reality is, though, that your dentist can have a major impact on your well being so it is going to be worth it to do the research before deciding. It doesn't matter if you haven't seen your dentist for a while or if you are just shopping for a new one, these tips can help you find the one that will help your teeth stay strong, healthy and totally free of cavities. At some stage of your life you will potentially be looking into replacing your dentist for some reason or another. You may have moved recently, or you may be one of the numerous adults who just has avoided going to a dentist for many years. Another possibility is that you've been going to a specific dentist who you're not satisfied with. Start by investigating from those you are available in contact with. This would involve some of your friends and acquaintances. You may acquire valuable info from a family specialist in your vicinity. Although you will be the deciding element, you would be well recommended to seek input from the folks around you first. If you are not comfortable with the dentist you find, you should search for another one. If you are concerned about mercury in the fillings, you should find a dentist who doesn't use it. You might need to talk to more than one dentist to get your concerns satisfied. If you would like advice related to health, together with your dental care, holistic dentists can provide you the best care. You might prefer a specific type of anesthesia, so you should discover if the dentist uses Novocaine or nitrous oxide. You need to be comfortable with the dentist you select, particularly if you have preferences when it concerns your dental care. In some cases the exact same dentist isn't ideal for all relative. If you're searching for a dentist for yourself, that's one thing, but if you have a family you have some choices to make. Going to the exact same dentist is certainly not necessary, when a husband and wife don't like the exact same one. It helps when everyone in the family likes the exact same person, and that is truly great when it is your dentist. On the other hand, you may also want to consider a pediatric dentist for your kids, particularly if they have any major dental problems. For checkups and cleanings, however, a great general dentist can be alright for the whole family. You should look for a dentist that you will be able to see for many years for all of your dental problems. It's worth it to spend some time finding the best dentist instead of just selecting one without doing your due diligence. You will be far better off if you start looking for a dentist when you are not suffering from any major or emergency like problems so that you will have time to make a well thought out decision. It doesn't matter if you haven't seen your dentist for a while or if you are just shopping for a new one, these tips can help you track down the one that will help your teeth stay strong, healthy and totally free of cavities. Root Canal Pain 4-09-2012

Los Angeles Cosmetic dentist Dr. Arthur A. Kezian DDS describes before and after pictures of root canal Los Angeles, and procedures involving root canal dentist Los Angeles. http://www.drkezian.com/los-angeles-root-canal.php When a patient is in intense pain, often due to an abscess, (an infection of the tooth) then root canal surgery may be considered. The thing is, there is very little root canal pain in surgery, the pain is due to the infection or abscess in the tooth. The root canal surgery will relieve the pain. Your respected root canal dentist must drain the fluid from the abscess and this will relieve the pressure, and reduce the pain. Teeth consist of enamel on the outside, and dentin on the inside. Dentin covers up the pulp which is very soft and contains lots of nerve endings. It is the damage to the nerves that give us the pain. If the enamel is chipped or otherwise worn away, bacteria can enter the dentin and cause infection. The infections can go down into the root of the tooth and this is when root canal pain arises and surgery may be performed. http://drkezian.com/los-angeles-dentist-blog/the-necessity-of-a-root-canal-therapy Your root canal dentist prescribed antibiotics due to the abscess. It is essential to get the abscess under control because the pus that is contained in the abscess can make the pain relief become ineffective. That is the pain relief which your chosen Los Angeles dentist utilizes to perform your root canal surgery. You need that! So, the antibiotics will clear up the abscess and this will make surgery safer for you. See more examples on the website of Los Angeles dentist- Dr. Arthur A. Kezian DDS 443 N. Do Root Canals Hurt and Will There Be Pain After? Ask Dr Hui Plano Dentist

Do Root Canals Hurt and Will There Be Pain After? | http://www.AskDrHui.com/RootCanalPain In general, nothing in dentistry should ever hurt if the patient is numbed properly. Despite horror stories, root canal therapy should not be a painful experience after adequate anesthesia is achieved. In regards to post-operative pain, most patients generally experience a mild soreness of the root canal treated tooth that is similar to a bruise. Severe pain is not at all a common post-operative complication, and when it does occur, it happens only because the tooth before treatment was severely infected and inflamed to an extreme extent. Take comfort in the fact that root canal therapy generally neither hurt during nor after the procedure. Do Root Canals Hurt and Will There Be Pain After? | http://www.AskDrHui.com/RootCanalPain Here on AskDrHui.com, Drs. Root canal therapy is the treatment provided to save a tooth often when there has been infection inside the tooth. The procedure can take place over one or a number of visits. This stages involve extirpation of the pulp or removing the nerve which often provides immediate relief particularly with severe dental pain or tooth ache. The next stage involves preparation of the canals of the tooth and the final stage involves obturation or filling of the canals. After root canal therapy is performed depending on the health of the tooth a crown is then placed over the tooth to protect it. Pain after root canal

01:36
Right after a root canal operation, pain is normal. Jaw pain after root canal is also not initially considered unusual. The possible causes for pain in your jaw would be the stress of the operation especially if the endodontist had a difficult time finding and removing the roots and from the length of time you had to keep your mouth open. How To Do Root Canal Treatment - Root Canal Treatment Procedure - How To Endure A Root Canal Pain

03:22
How To Do Root Canal Treatment: In this video, we share information about how to do root canal treatment - root canal treatment procedure - how to endure a root canal pain. Subscribe to our channel for more videos. Watch: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ur4hJ0P2MvQ) How to Endure a Root Canal A root canal is a cavity within the center the root of your tooth. The pulp or pulp chamber is the soft area within that root canal and it contains the tooth's nerve. A root canal procedure is a treatment used to repair and preserve a tooth whose pulp or pulp chamber is affected by decay, trauma or any other factors that cause inflammation and could lead to infection. The procedure removes the pulp, which contains the nerve and blood vessels, and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Understanding the Root Canal Procedure - Learn why the pulp needs to be removed. When the pulp in your tooth becomes damaged, bacteria and other decayed debris can build up in the damaged area of the tooth and cause an infection or abscess. -Become knowledgeable about the process. - Kill any lingering bacteria after the dentist places the filling. An antibiotic will most likely be prescribed to either treat the previous infection or prevent a new one. - Fit a new crown on your tooth to finish out the procedure. A tooth that has had a root canal is no longer living and its enamel will become brittle. Preparing for Your Root Canal -Do not make a rash decision. If you are in the dentist’s chair for another procedure and they recommend you get a root canal and that you can or should do it right then — don’t. Never make a decision under duress unless absolutely necessary. - Ask questions. Once you’ve had time to think and do research, nothing can give you more peace of mind during and after a root canal than knowing exactly how your dentist views the procedure and what they plan on doing. -Tell your dentist you are nervous about the procedure. If the pain scares you, be honest and upfront about it. Their office and assistants can make the experience as positive and comforting as possible - Explore sedation options. It’s possible that your anxiety at the thought of going to the dentist can be more severe than just being uncomfortable or nervousness. Undergoing the Root Canal Procedure -Inform your dentist if you feel any pain. During the procedure you shouldn’t feel any pain. - Practice meditation. You will have your mouth open for several hours so you’ll need to occupy your mind during that time. - Bring your electronics. Listening to music is a great way to take your mind off of the procedure. -Be ready for numbness. The local anesthetic — assuming you do not opt for general anesthesia — will be potent. - Know that soreness is normal. Your tooth may be sore for two to three days after the procedure, but it’s also normal to have no soreness at all. - Monitor your pain post-procedure. There might be some pain but it should not be severe, particularly after 24-hours. - Avoid chewing on the affected side until your crown is in place. You can take over-the-counter pain relievers or anti-inflammatories to ease the discomfort. - Be aware your procedure may be stopped. A root canal, just like any other medical procedure, has red flags that can put a halt to the proceedings.
