This film exposes how every major war in US history was based on a complete fraud with video of insiders themselves admitting it. Battleship Maine, Sinking of the Lusitania, Pearl Harbor, Gulf of Tonkin, USS Liberty (not covered in this clip), 911 ... The film is "The New American Century". This film goes in detail through the untold history of The Project for the New American Century with tons of archival footage and connects it right into the present. This film exposes how every major war in US history was based on a complete fraud with video of insiders themselves admitting it. This film shows how the first film theaters in the US were used over a hundred years ago to broadcast propaganda to rile the American people into the Spanish-American War. This film shows the white papers of the oil company Unocal which called for the creation of a pipeline through Afghanistan and how their exact needs were fulfilled through the US invasion of Afghanistan. This film shows how Halliburton under their "cost plus" exclusive contract with the US Government went on a mad dash spending spree akin to something out of the movie Brewster's Millions, yet instead of blowing $30 million they blew through BILLIONS by literally burning millions of dollars worth of hundred thousand dollar cars and trucks if they had so much as a flat tire. "A stunning film. It should be seen as widely as possible, in cinemas, bars, clubs, at meetings and, of course, through the internet. I'm sure the film will continue to be a source of debate and political education for many years. Maybe until the war criminals have been brought to trial." - Ken Loach While Massimo Mazzuccos first political documentary, GLOBAL DECEIT (2006), focused on the long list of inconsistencies in the official version of the 9/11 attacks, THE NEW AMERICAN CENTURY explores the historical, philosophical and economic background that suggests a matrix for such events that is much closer to home than the so-called "Islamic terrorism". The film provides solid evidence for the true reasons behind the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, whose unfolding is described in chilling detail in a document called "Project for the New American Century", published in the year 2,000, that seems to have served as the actual blueprint for such dramatic events. ID: 1551101 Britain’s last model ship maker says he'll ‘drop dead in his workshop’ rather than give up his dying craft. Philip Reed, 76, has spent more than 50 years painstakingly recreating maritime legends from the 1600s to WWII – including the Cutty Sark, USS Constitution and HMS Hood. While each model sells for thousands of pounds, they can take more than a year to complete because he researches every detail using original ship plans and drawings before building them entirely from scratch using wood, paper and wire. Working from a small workshop in Cornwall, dad-of-two Philip walked away from his job as an art teacher to pursue his passion full time in the 1980s - taking a drop in income to follow his passion, despite the high value of the models. **Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for media / licensing / broadcast usage** SUBMIT A VIDEO: https://bit.ly/2HWQ0mD Connect with Caters: Twitter: https://twitter.com/Caters_News Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CatersTV Website: https://www.catersnews.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/caters_news/ Company Information: Caters Clips is owned and operated by Caters News Agency Ltd, an international multimedia content provider. US Navy Ships Zumwalt destroyer - US Navy Ships - U.S. Navy gives look inside futuristic $4.4 billion Zumwalt destroyer The Navy gave a first look inside the stealthy and futuristic Zumwalt destroyer on Friday during the ship's first port stop at a Rhode Island naval station. The 610-foot-long warship has an angular shape to minimize its radar signature and cost more than $4.4 billion. It's the most expensive destroyer built for the Navy. It's headed from Naval Station Newport to Baltimore, where it will be commissioned in October before going to its homeport in San Diego. It was built at Bath Iron Works in Maine. During a tour, the Navy showed off the ship's bridge, weaponry and mission center. In the bridge, there are 180-degree windows and chairs for the ship's captain and executive officer to command the vessel. They overlook two gun mounts that resemble cannon barrels. The Zumwalt's powerful new gun system can unload 600 rocket-powered projectiles on targets more than 70 miles away. In the mission center, about two dozen people can sit at consoles with multiple computer screens to plan missions, ranging from land attack and air defense to anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare and support for special operations forces. There's a large flight deck and two small boats on board in a bay that special operation forces can use. It looks like a much smaller vessel on radar and it's quieter than other ships, which makes it hard to detect, track and attack. Vice Adm. Tom Rowden mans, trains and equips the surface ships of the Pacific fleet, which will include the Zumwalt. He said Friday the Zumwalt will make a significant difference. Its advanced technology and capabilities allow it to do a range of defensive and offensive missions, and project power, wherever it is needed, and that's generating tremendous excitement within the Navy, Rowden said. He said the Zumwalt will be a "very stabilizing" sight for allies and partners, and perhaps a "menacing" sight for potential enemies. And, the Zumwalt's unique and significant capability to generate power could be used in ways perhaps not even envisioned yet, such as in the testing and use of laser and directed-energy weapons systems, Rowden said. "We have the embodiment of the spirit of technological breakthroughs and the future of our Navy. I think we have the embodiment of Adm. Bud Zumwalt," Rowden said. "And I think as you combine those, and many other things together, what you really see is, tremendous, tremendous opportunity." The ship is named after the late Adm. Elmo "Bud" Zumwalt, who earned the Bronze Star in World War II and commanded small boats that patrolled the Mekong Delta in Vietnam. He became the youngest chief of naval operations and earned a reputation as a reformer, who fought racism and sexism. Capt. James Kirk, the ship's commanding officer, has pictures of Zumwalt and books about him in his office. Kirk said that the ship's commissioning will bring the admiral's legacy as a reformer back into the fleet. Kirk said the Zumwalt's crew of 147 officers and sailors possess a high level of technical expertise, great teamwork and mental and physical toughness. When asked about the inevitable comparisons of the Zumwalt to Star Trek's Starship Enterprise and the skipper to the fictional Captain Kirk, the real Capt. Kirk said it does come up "every now and again," but noted that he was named after his grandfather and his parents weren't Trekkies. "But the first day I showed up at the Naval Academy, someone said, 'I can't wait till you're a captain,'" he said with a smile. Additional equipment will be installed on the ship in San Diego, systems will be tested and the crew will train. Rowden said training and testing will last through 2017 and into 2018. He didn't speculate when the first deployment will happen. U.S. Sen. Jack Reed, a Rhode Island Democrat, visited the Zumwalt on Friday, and he and Rowden said technologies aboard will likely be added to other classes of Navy ships moving forward. military technology, government and politics, zumwalt, north america,https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClqxWv6YAVOCapBYMxjVbSw/playlists The US Navy's newest and most technologically advanced stealth destroyer, future USS Zumwalt (DDG-1000), departed Maine shipyard Bath Iron Works September 7, 2016, marking the beginning of a three-month journey to its new homeport in San Diego. USS Chafee sailed near islands claimed by China in the South China Sea. The officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the USS Chafee, carried out normal maneuvering operations that challenged “excessive maritime claims” near the Paracel Islands, among a string of islets, reefs and shoals over which China has territorial disputes with its neighbors. It was the 4th "freedom of navigation operation" during Trump's presidency. China’s sweeping claims of sovereignty over the sea have annoyed competing claimants Malaysia, Vietnam, Brunei, Taiwan, Indonesia, and the Philippines. United States, Japan, Australia and India favor freedom of navigation as it is a very important sea route with 5 trillion $ in trade, half of global merchant shipping and 1/2 of world’s oil shipment pass through it. The sea also has alleged 11 billion barrels of untapped oil and 190 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. This operation is the latest attempt to counter what Washington sees as Beijing's efforts to limit freedom of navigation in the strategic waters In this video, Defense Updates analyzes THE CAPABILITIES OF USS CHAFEE IN 5 POINTS AND UNDERSTAND WHY CHINA SHOULD FEAR IT? Lets get started. BACKGROUND USS Chafee (DDG-90) is an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer in the United States Navy. Arleigh Burke-class warships were designed as multi mission destroyers capable of Anti Aircraft Warfare (AAW), Anti Submarine Warfare (ASW) and Anti Surface warfare (ASuW). USS Chafee was laid down by the Bath Iron Works at Bath in Maine on 12 April 2001, launched on 2 November 2002 and commissioned on 18 October 2003. Chafee is an active unit of the Pacific Fleet and operates out of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. STRUCTURE/ SPEED/RANGE USS Chafee being an Arleigh Burke class destroyer is among the largest destroyers in the world. It has an overall length of 505 feets and displacement of about 9,200 tons. It is powered by 4 General Electric LM2500-30 gas turbines with 2 shafts, producing 100,000 total shaft horsepower (75 MW). It has a speed of 30+ knots (55+ km/h) and range of 4,400 nmi (8,100 km) AEGIS COMBAT SYSTEM The Arleigh Burke class of guided missile destroyers is the United States Navy's first class of destroyer built around the Aegis Combat System. The Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense System is a United States DOD (Department of Defense) Missile Defense Agency program developed to provide missile defense against short to intermediate-range ballistic missiles. Aegis BMD is designed to intercept ballistic missiles post-boost phase and prior to reentry. It enables USS Chafee to shoot down enemy ballistic missiles by expanding the Aegis Combat System with the addition of the AN/SPY-1 radar and Standard missile technologies. Aegis BMD-equipped vessels can transmit their target detection information to other systems and, if needed, engage potential threats using either the SM-2 or SM-3 missile. RADAR The heart of the AEGIS systems on board the USS Chafee is an advanced, automatic detect and track, multifunctional phased-array radar, the AN/SPY-1. This high-powered (4 MW) radar is able to perform search, track and missile guidance functions simultaneously with a capability of over 100 targets. A conventional, mechanically rotating radar "sees" a target when the radar beam strikes that target once during each 360-degree rotation of the antenna. A separate tracking radar is then required to engage each target. By contrast, the computer-controlled AN/SPY-1A Phased Array Radar of the AEGIS system brings these functions together within one system. The phased array can concentrate energy where it is needed. This radar is expected to track enemy aircrafts from as far as 300 km. ARMAMENT USS Chafee is one of the most heavily armed destroyers in the world. It has 96 cell Mk 41 VLS, which can be configured with the combination of the following weapons, based on mission. 1. Tomahawk cruise missile for Land attack. It is subsonic missile with a range of 2500 km 2. RIM-162 Evolved SeaSparrow medium range SAM for air defense .It has speed of 4 Mach and range of 50 km. 3. RIM-66 Standard Missile SM2 missile for AEGIS ballistic missile defense. It has a speed of 3.5 Mach and range of 150 km. It also has 2 × Mk 141 Harpoon Missile Launcher for Anti Ship role. It is a subsonic missile with a range of 125 km. 2 × Mark 32 triple torpedo tubes are present launching Mk-46 or Mk-50 torpedoes which have a speed in excess of 70 km/hr. and range of 15 km. 2 Sikorsky MH-60R helicopters are also present for Anti Submarine Warfare. CONCLUSION: This has visibly irked China. Beijing officials issued a public complaint on Wednesday over this freedom of navigation operation by USS Chafee. Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokeswoman Hua Chunying said during a press briefing: The transit of USS Chafee violated Chinese territorial sovereignty by entering a claimed territorial sea without prior notification.

USS Missouri (BB-63) ("Mighty Mo" or "Big Mo") is a United States Navy Iowa-class battleship and was the third ship of the U.S. Navy to be named in honor of the US state of Missouri. Missouri was the last battleship commissioned by the United States and was the site of the surrender of the Empire of Japan which ended World War II. Missouri was ordered in 1940 and commissioned in June 1944. In the Pacific Theater of World War II she fought in the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa and shelled the Japanese home islands, and she fought in the Korean War from 1950 to 1953. She was decommissioned in 1955 into the United States Navy reserve fleets (the "Mothball Fleet"), but reactivated and modernized in 1984 as part of the 600-ship Navy plan, and provided fire support during Operation Desert Storm in January/February 1991. Missouri received a total of 11 battle stars for service in World War II, Korea, and the Persian Gulf, and was finally decommissioned on 31 March 1992, but remained on the Naval Vessel Register until her name was struck in January 1995. In 1998, she was donated to the USS Missouri Memorial Association and became a museum ship at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. USS Arizona was a Pennsylvania-class battleship built for and by the United States Navy in the mid-1910s. Named in honor of the 48th state's recent admission into the union, the ship was the second and last of the Pennsylvania class of "super-dreadnought" battleships. Although commissioned in 1916, the ship remained stateside during World War I. Shortly after the end of the war, Arizona was one of a number of American ships that briefly escorted President Woodrow Wilson to the Paris Peace Conference. The ship was sent to Turkey in 1919 at the beginning of the Greco-Turkish War to represent American interests for several months. Several years later, she was transferred to the Pacific Fleet and remained there for the rest of her career. Aside from a comprehensive modernization in 1929–31, Arizona was regularly used for training exercises between the wars, including the annual Fleet Problems (training exercises). When an earthquake struck Long Beach, California, in 1933, Arizona 's crew provided aid to the survivors. Two years later, the ship was featured in a Jimmy Cagney film, Here Comes the Navy, about the romantic troubles of a sailor. In April 1940, she and the rest of the Pacific Fleet were transferred from California to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, as a deterrent to Japanese imperialism. During the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941, Arizona was bombed. She exploded and sank, killing 1,177 officers and crewmen. Unlike many of the other ships sunk or damaged that day, Arizona could not be fully salvaged, though the Navy removed parts of the ship for reuse. The wreck still lies at the bottom of Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial, dedicated on 30 May 1962 to all those who died during the attack, straddles the ship's hull. USS Bowfin (SS/AGSS-287), a Balao-class submarine, was a boat of the United States Navy named for the bowfin fish. Since 1981, she has been open to public tours at the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum and Park in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, next to the USS Arizona Memorial Visitor Center. Bowfin was laid down by the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard at Kittery, Maine, on 23 July 1942, and launched on 7 December 1942 by Mrs. Jane Gawne, wife of Captain James Gawne, and commissioned on 1 May 1943, Commander Joseph H. Willingham in command.

South China Sea - U.S. could deploy Zumwalt DDG-1000 to the region USS Zumwalt will be commissioned in October 2016. This advanced ship has the stealth capabilities, having a radar cross-section akin to a fishing boat despite her large size. The tumblehome hull, and composite deckhouse reduces radar return. Overall, the destroyer's angular build makes it 50 times harder to spot on radar than an ordinary destroyer. It has new technologies including the power system and two advanced 155mm precision gun system, and the long range land attack projectile which will fire rocket shell up to 63 nautical miles. Integrated with a dual-band sonar controlled by a highly automated computer system. This will be used to detect mines and submarines. Zumwalt is the first U.S. Navy surface combatant to employ an innovative and highly survivable Integrated Power System (IPS) distributing 1000 volts of direct current across the ship. The IPS’ unique architectural capabilities include the ability to allocate all 78 megawatts of installed power to propulsion, ship’s service, and combat system loads from the same gas turbine prime movers based on operational requirements. Each ship in the class features a battery of two Advanced Gun Systems, capable of firing Long-Range Land Attack Projectiles (LRLAP) that reach up to 63 nautical miles, providing three-fold range improvement in naval surface fires coverage. Each ship is equipped with eighty Advanced Vertical Launch System cells for Tomahawk missiles, Evolved Sea Sparrow Missiles, Standard Missiles, and Vertical Launch Anti-Submarine Rockets (ASROC) (VLA). The ship will employ active and passive sensors and a Multi-Function Radar (MFR) capable of conducting area air surveillance, including over-land, throughout the extremely difficult and cluttered sea-land interface.

BATH, MAINE — The U.S. Navy's largest and most expensive ever destroyer took to the Atlantic Ocean on Monday for its first test in open seas. The 600-foot-long, 15,000-ton USS Zumwalt took four years to build at a cost of $4.3 billion, the Portland Press Herald reports. The stealth warship's wave-piercing "tumblehome" hull, oblique deckhouse and smooth or enclosed surfaces are designed to make it appear on radar as a small boat, such as a fishing vessel. The Zumwalt is about 100 feet longer and 20 feet wider than the U.S. Navy's current class of destroyers and has more advanced weapons, including a computer-guided missile system that can hit targets up to 63 miles away. Further tests are scheduled on even more sophisticated weaponry, including an electromagnetic rail gun that can launch projectiles at seven times the speed of sound at targets more than 100 miles away, the Sydney Morning Herald reports. The ship was designed to operate closer to land in support of ground attacks and also in the open seas in battles against other ships, aircraft or submarines. The Zumwalt, which can hit a top speed in excess of 30 knots (35 miles per hour), is powered by a 78-megawatt power plant and is the U.S. Navy's first "all electric" warship. Its gas-turbine engines power generators, rather than propellers. Naval architects have raised questions about the stability of the tumblehome design in bad weather, but the U.S. Navy has said it is confident in the vessel's seaworthiness, the Portland Press Herald reports. The ship is named after decorated Naval officer Admiral Elmo Zumwalt, who died in 2000. The idea of establishing a World Trade Center in New York City was first proposed in 1946. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Trade_Center February 13, 1975 fire On February 13, 1975, a three-alarm fire broke out on the 11th floor of the North Tower. Fire spread through the core to the 9th and 14th floors by igniting the insulation of telephone cables in a utility shaft that ran vertically between floors. Areas at the furthest extent of the fire were extinguished almost immediately and the original fire was put out in a few hours. Most of the damage was concentrated on the 11th floor, fueled by cabinets filled with paper, alcohol-based fluid for office machines, and other office equipment. Fireproofing protected the steel from melting and there was no structural damage to the tower. Other than the damage caused by the fire, a few floors below suffered water damage from the extinguishing of the fires above. At that time, the World Trade Center had no sprinkler systems. In 1998, the Port Authority approved plans to privatize the World Trade Center. In 2001, the Port Authority sought to lease the World Trade Center to a private entity. Bids for the lease came from Vornado Realty Trust, a joint bid between Brookfield Properties Corporation and Boston Properties, and a joint bid by Silverstein Properties and The Westfield Group. By privatizing the World Trade Center, it would be added to the city's tax rolls and provide funds for other Port Authority projects. On February 15, 2001, the Port Authority announced that Vornado Realty Trust had won the lease for the World Trade Center, paying $3.25 billion for the 99-year lease. Vornado outbid Silverstein by $600 million though Silverstein upped his offer to $3.22 billion. However, Vornado insisted on last minute changes to the deal, including a shorter 39-year lease, which the Port Authority considered nonnegotiable. Vornado later withdrew and Silverstein's bid for the lease to the World Trade Center was accepted on April 26, 2001, and closed on July 24, 2001. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Maine_(ACR-1) USS Maine (ACR-1) was the United States Navy's second commissioned pre-dreadnought battleship,[Note 1] although she was originally classified as an armored cruiser. She is best known for her catastrophic loss in Havana harbor. Maine had been sent to Havana, Cuba to protect U.S. interests during the Cuban revolt against Spain. On the evening of 15 February 1898, she suddenly exploded, and swiftly sank, killing nearly three quarters of her crew. Though then, as now, the cause and responsibility for her sinking were unclear; popular opinion in the U.S. blamed Spain, and the sinking (popularized in the phrase Remember the Maine, to Hell with Spain!) was one of the precipitating events of the Spanish--American War.] Her sinking remains the subject of speculation, with various authors proposing that she sank due to the results of an undetected fire in one of her coal bunkers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:MaineMonument1200.jpg A photograph of the monument to the Maine in Havana, Cuba taken circa 1930. Taken by my father, and which I now own. Date circa 1930 Source Personal Collection Author My father http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pompton_Lakes,_New_Jersey Pompton Lakes is a borough in Passaic County, New Jersey, United States. Pompton Lakes was formed as a borough on February 26, 1895, from portions of Pompton Township, based on the results of a referendum held three days earlier. Pompton Lakes was the first borough to be formed in Passaic County, as the "borough fever" that had struck elsewhere hit the county. The newly-formed borough did not acquire territory from more than one township, which would have entitled Pompton Lakes to a seat on the Board of Chosen Freeholders. Three rivers, the Ramapo, Pequannock and Wanaque, run through the Borough, providing many relaxing year-round activities for Pompton residents. 1998 National Geographic investigation In 1998, National Geographic Magazine commissioned an analysis by Advanced Marine Enterprises. This investigation, done to commemorate the centennial of the sinking of Maine, was based on computer modeling, a technique unavailable for previous investigations. The conclusions reached were "while a spontaneous combustion in a coal bunker can create ignition-level temperatures in adjacent magazines, this is not likely to have occurred on the Maine, because the bottom plating identified as Section 1 would have blown outward, not inward," and "The sum of these findings is not definitive in proving that a mine was the cause of sinking of the Maine, but it does strengthen the case in favor of a mine as the cause." Some experts, including Admiral Rickover's team and several analysts at AME, do not agree with the conclusion.

( Before I write anything I should say that I should have made more of an effort to stop the jumping. I didn't realise just how bad it was until i played it back, however I did wish to keep the commentary. OOOps! Sorry! ) This is the very welcome Belfast visit of the USS Mason all the way from Norfolk in Virginia USA. She arrived a couple of days ago. USS Mason is the first American warship to call into Belfast in a very long time. USS Mason's visit is very special because it marks the 75th anniversary of the opening of 'Base One Europe Londonderry', the first and largest U.S. Navy base in the European theater during WWII. Northern ireland has very strong WW2 connections with America because 120,000 US troops were based here and 300000 passed through here on their way to the war in Europe. The biggest flotilla of Allied ships ever were assembled in Belfast Lough May/June 1944 and sailed off to Normandy to launch the D Day landings. Many of these ships were American. USS Mason's visit marks that strong historical bond and WW2 memory. A wide range of events and receptions has also been organized by Mary Pat Kelly, author of "Proudly We Served: The Men of the USS Mason (1995) and director of the film "Proud" (2004) to commemorate USS Mason's (DE 529) visit to (London ) Derry and Northern Ireland. "The entire crew is very excited to be visiting Belfast. The U.S. enjoys a wonderful friendship with Northern Ireland and the UK, and Mason itself has a rich heritage with Belfast and Derry. We are looking forward to a relaxing and enjoyable visit before returning to our operational schedule." - Cmdr. Christopher J. Gilbertson, from Minneapolis, commanding officer , USS Mason USS Mason (DDG-87) is an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer in the United States Navy. At the time, Navy officials pointed out that integrating new technologies brings challenges and that at least $3 billion of the Ford’s costs were due to what’s described as non-recurring engineering costs for a first-in-class ship such as this. For instance, Ford-class carriers are built with a larger flight deck able to increase the sortie-generation rate by 33-percent, an electromagnetic catapult to replace the current steam system and much greater levels of automation or computer controls throughout the ship. The ship is also engineered to accommodate new sensors, software, weapons and combat systems as they emerge, Navy officials have said. The USS Ford is built with four 26-megawatt generators, bringing a total of 104 megawatts to the ship. This helps support the ship's developing systems such as its Electro-Magnetic Aircraft Launch System, or EMALS, and provides power for future systems such as lasers and rail-guns, many Navy senior leaders have explained. HII ship developers have been making an aggressive effort to lower costs of the USS Kennedy. Officials have said that the cost of the USS Kennedy will be well over $1.5 billion less than the costs to build the first Ford-Class ship. One of the construction techniques for Kennedy construction has included efforts to assemble compartments and parts of the ship together before moving them to the dock – this expedites construction by allowing builders to integrate larger parts of the ship more quickly. This technique, referred to by Huntington Ingalls developers as “modular construction,” was also used when building the Ford; the process welds smaller sections of the ship together into larger structural “superlift” units before being lifted into the dry dock, HII statements explained. The Navy is finalizing plans to build its fourth Ford-Class aircraft carrier in the mid-2020s as a substantial step in a long-term plan to extend surface warfare power projection for the next 100 years - all the way into the 2100s This fourth carrier, called CVN 81, will continue the Navy's ongoing process to acquire a new class of next-generation carriers designed to sustain its ability to launch air attacks from the ocean in increasingly more dangerous modern threat environments. “Procurement of CVN 81 is currently being planned for inclusion in the 2023 budget,” William Couch, spokesman for Naval Sea Systems Command, told Warrior Maven. While Couch emphasized that funding will require Congressional approval, he did specify key elements of the Navy’s Ford-Class strategy. The first one, the USS Ford, is now complete and preparing for operational service. The second Ford-Class carrier, the USS Kennedy, is more than 80-percent built and the third Ford-class carrier will be called the USS Enterprise. The USS Kennedy will replace the USS Nimitz which is due to retire by 2027; the Ford-class carriers are slated to replace the existing Nimitz-class carriers on a one-to-one basis in an incremental fashion over the next 50 or more years. As a result, the Navy is making a specific effort to expedite the acquisition of its Ford-class carrier by exploring the possibility of buying the third and fourth Ford-class carriers at the same time. “The Navy released a CVN 80/81 two-ship buy Request for Proposal to Huntington Ingalls Industries - to further define the cost savings achievable with a potential two-ship buy. The Navy received HII response May 1 and will consider it in its procurement planning for both ships,” Couch said. Streamlining acquisition of the Ford-class also naturally brings the advantage of potentially speeding up construction and delivery of the new ships as well, something of significance to the Navy’s fast-tracked effort to reach a 355-ship fleet. Part of this strategy is articulated in the Navy’s recent 2019 30-year shipbuilding plan, called the “Report to Congress on the Annual Long-Range Plan for Construction of Naval Vessels for Fiscal Year 2019.” The plan says the Navy is working on “setting the conditions for an enduring industrial base as the top priority, Source :- themaven.net Background Music :- bensound.com Disclaimer- This channel is for defence related news worldwide . In which John Green teaches you about Imperialism. In the late 19th century, the great powers of Europe were running around the world obtaining colonial possessions, especially in Africa and Asia. The United States, which as a young country was especially suceptible to peer pressure, followed along and snapped up some colonies of its own. The US saw that Spain's hold on its empire was weak, and like some kind of expansionist predator, it jumped into the Cuban War for Independence and turned it into the Spanish-Cuban-Phillipino-American War, which usually just gets called the Spanish-American War. John will tell you how America turned this war into colonial possessions like Puerto Rico, The Philippines, and almost even got to keep Cuba. The US was busy in the Pacific as well, wresting control of Hawaii from the Hawaiians. All this and more in a globe-trotting, oppressing episode of Crash Course US History. Navy’s Futuristic Destroyer is Apparently Too Stealthy When it comes to naval destroyers, there’s apparently such a thing as being too stealthy. The U.S. Navy’s new Zumwalt-class guided missile destroyer (DDG 1000) is so covert that during normal peacetime operations its crew plan to sail with giant reflectors — reflective cylinders hoisted in the air — to ensure other ships can see it. A lobsterman in Maine, Lawrence Pye, told The Associated Press that during a recent outing his radar indicated a 40- or 50-foot fishing vessel was approaching. It turned out to be the hulking 610-foot warship. “It’s pretty mammoth when it’s that close to you,” Pye told the news service. The Zumwalt already is 50 times more difficult to detect on radar than other destroyers in the fleet. But it will be even stealthier after the testing equipment loaded onto the ship for trials is removed, Zumwalt program manager Capt. James Downey said. The reflective material that will be used aboard the Zumwalt will look like metal cylinders. Other vessels have also used the material during difficult navigation conditions, such as in heavy fog or busy ship lanes. Pye was not the first Maine mariner to encounter the Zumwalt while it was out on sea trials. In December, the ship actually answered the distress call of a fisherman who had a heart attack. When the Coast Guard rescue helicopter concluded it would be too dangerous to try and hoist the fishermen, Dale Sparrow, from the deck of his ship, a crew in a small boat from the Zumwalt came to the man’s rescue and transferred him to the destroyer’s deck. From there, the Coast Guard crew from Air Station Cape Cod hoisted him and transported him the shore, where he was rushed to the Maine Medical Center. The U.S. Navy’s biggest, most expensive and most technologically advanced destroyer arrived at its homeport on Thursday after a nearly four-month transit that included some hiccups, such as a high-profile breakdown in the Panama Canal. The USS Zumwalt arrived in San Diego to a welcoming ceremony that included the commander of naval surface forces, Vice Adm. Tom Rowden. The ship has a crew of 147 officers and sailors, and its commanding officer is Capt. James Kirk. “We have looked forward to pulling into San Diego for a long time,” Kirk said. The Zumwalt departed Maine shipbuilder Bath Iron Works in September before being commissioned into service in Baltimore in October. It made several additional port calls en route to its final destination. During the trip, the first-in-class ship was sidelined for repairs a couple of times, including after it lost propulsion in the Panama Canal, necessitating a tow and an extended stay for repairs. In San Diego, the crew and contractors will begin installation of combat systems and further testing and evaluation. The 610-foot-long warship features new technology including an electric power plant that drives it, an inward-sloping tumblehome hull, a composite deckhouse that hides sensors and an angular shape to minimize its radar signature. The futuristic-looking ship weighs in at nearly 15,000 tons, about 50 percent heavier than current destroyers. But the crew size is half of the 300 personnel of other destroyers, thanks to advanced automation. That technology comes at a price: The Zumwalt’s cost is north of $4.4 billion. Two more ships in the class are being built in Maine. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/uss-zumwalt-futuristic-navy-destroyer-finally-arrives-in-homeport/ http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

William Joel tours the USS Missouri (BB-63) ("Mighty Mo" or "Big Mo") - is a U.S. Navy Iowa-class battleship, and was the fourth ship of the United States Navy to be named in honor of the U.S. state of Missouri. Missouri was the last battleship built by the United States, and was the site of the surrender of the Empire of Japan which ended World War II. Missouri was ordered in 1940 and commissioned in June 1944. In the Pacific Theater of World War II she fought in the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa and shelled the Japanese home islands, and she fought in the Korean War from 1950 to 1953. She was decommissioned in 1955 into the United States Navy reserve fleets (the "Mothball Fleet"), but reactivated and modernized in 1984 as part of the 600-ship Navy plan, and fought in the 1991 Gulf War. Missouri received a total of eleven battle stars for service in World War II, Korea, and the Persian Gulf, and was finally decommissioned on 31 March 1992, but remained on the Naval Vessel Register until her name was struck in January 1995. In 1998 she was donated to the USS Missouri Memorial Association and became a museum ship. On the other hand , the Pacific Aviation Museum is located on Ford Island. A6M2 Zero painted as one of the Pearl Harbor attackers The museum site occupies 16 acres (65,000 m2) of the 440-acre (1.8 km2) island. It includes three historic hangars and an air traffic control tower. F4F3 Wildcat on display representing Cactus Air during the Battle of Guadalcanal On December 7, [2006, one of four phases of the museum opened Hangar 37 to the public. The hangar's 42,442 square feet (3,943 m2) of space focus on the attack on Pearl Harbor through Jimmy Doolittle's bomber raid on Tokyo, Japan. Future phases of the museum will be built in other nearby hangars and focus on the Korean War, Vietnam War, and Cold War. One of the principal Pearl Harbor Historic Sites, the interactive museum is located near the Battleship Missouri in the battlefield hangars of historic Ford Island which were attacked by the Imperial Japanese Navy on December 7, 1941, the beginning of World War II. Aircraft, such as a Japanese Zero and the Stearman in which former President George H. W. Bush soloed as the wars youngest aviator, illustrate how aviation helped stem the war. Visitors can view historic videos, including a movie of the beginning of the war. The museum features a gift shop, 1940s-themed Laniakea Cafe, and combat flight simulators in which guests can virtually fight the battle of Guadalcanal in either an American or Japanese plane. Pacific Aviation Museums mission is to develop and maintain an internationally recognized aviation museum, which educates young and old alike, honors aviators and the support personnel who defended freedom in the Pacific Region, and is dedicated to preserving Pacific aviation history. The museum has recently announced its Phase II capital campaign for the restoration of two additional standing hangars and the landmark red and white icon control tower. Restoration of these will house the increasing aircraft collection includes the recently arrived Air Force F-15 Screaming Eagle and Navy F-14 Tomcat—the last Tomcat to be flown in the service of our nation.

Video footage featuring the Navy's evaluation of a strike group’s gun weapon systems, combat systems, and unmanned vehicles’ interoperability with surface and air assets while firing on targets at the 2016 USS Dahlgren demonstration, Aug. 30. It was the first time an entire Navy strike group was brought together in a land-based environment spanning the entire kill chain – plan, detect, control, engage and assess. “This demonstration integrated capabilities across multiple laboratories, utilizing unmanned and manned sensor platforms, engaging a hostile swarm threat of surface craft attacking a virtual naval battlegroup consisting of a Nimitz class aircraft carrier, an Aegis class cruiser and an Independence class Littoral Combat Ship,” said Neil Baron, Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) distinguished scientist for combat control. At one point, senior Navy officials – flag officers, commanding officers, and two-dozen senior executives – watched engineers fire a 30 millimeter gun on the Potomac River Test Range from their Littoral Combat Ship’s (LCS) - Surface Warfare (SUW) Mission Package Command and Control laboratory several miles away. "This event brings it all together,” said Rear Adm. Tom Druggan, NSWC commander. “We have to field systems that are a slam dunk win for the Navy. When push comes to shove, the Navy has to win. Our job is to make sure the fleet wins today and in the future.” The test – made possible by a cybernetic laboratory called USS Dahlgren – conducted engagement coordination with virtual and hardware representations of systems on the USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74), USS Bunker Hill (CG 52), and USS Independence (LCS 2) during live fire destruction of surface threats utilizing the LCS 30 millimeter, Aegis MK 46 gun system's 5-inch guns, and simulated hellfire missiles. “This has been five to six years in the making and couldn't come at a better time as we see real-world events such as the recent small boat incursions in the Middle East, highlighting the need for the Fleet,” said Capt. Brian Durant, NSWCDD commanding officer. Druggan, Durant and their counterparts watched as actual combat system equipment from the aircraft carrier and two surface combatant laboratories directed live fire on the Potomac River Test Range as fictitious surface threats attempted to attack. The live fire engagements continued throughout the scenario, demonstrating integration of currently fielded capabilities, from MH-60R and MH60S Seahawk helicopters to the Aegis Combat System and the Ship Self-Defense System with new technologies such as Virtual Automatic Scoring System.
