Probability

17:56
Currently, my advanced students are learning about Probability. I had many students requesting this video for extra help. They are taking their test this week, I hope they do awesome! Topics discussed in this video: 1. Experimental Probability 2. Theoretical Probability 3. Independent Event 4. Dependent Event 5. Probability of compound events 6. Likelihood of an event occurring About Me: I am a middle school math teacher who started making videos for my students to help them on the math concepts in the classroom. Then I started receiving requests from others to make more math videos so, I decided to put it on YouTube so, that my video tutorials can help others. Hope you enjoy my quirky personality! If you hear an extraneous word in my video it is on purpose. Students who watch my video and write the extraneous word on their test get an extra five points added to their test score. Oh and by the way, I leave all of my mistakes in to make it more interesting! Thanks for w@tching! Follow me on Twitter! @themathtuber

Indian Philosophical Schools

Jainism – https://youtu.be/MwI0Nu51W84?list=PLxJNbXGrHdcU7JE3YXkjXpgWrLdlqb2fc Buddhism – https://youtu.be/FA43TY347nc?list=PLxJNbXGrHdcU7JE3YXkjXpgWrLdlqb2fc Introduction to six schools of indian philosophy upsc Indian Philosophy (or, in Sankrit, Darshanas), refers to any of several traditions of philosophical thought that originated in the Indian subcontinent. It is considered by Indian thinkers to be a practical discipline, and its goal should always be to improve human life. Orthodox (Hindu) Schools The main Hindu orthodox (astika) schools of Indian philosophy are those codified during the medieval period of Brahmanic-Sanskritic scholasticism, and they take the ancient Vedas (the oldest sacred texts of Hinduism) as their source and scriptural authority Samkhya: Sāmkhya philosophy regards the universe as consisting of two realities, puruṣa (consciousness) and prakṛti (matter). Jiva (a living being) is that state in which puruṣa is bonded to prakṛti in some form. This fusion, state the Samkhya scholars, led to the emergence of buddhi ("intellect") and ahaṅkāra (ego consciousness). The universe is described by this school as one created by purusa-prakṛti entities infused with various permutations and combinations of variously enumerated elements, senses, feelings, activity and mind. The end of this imbalance, bondage is called liberation, or kaivalya, by the Samkhya school. Yoga: The Yoga Sutras were compiled prior to 400 CE by Sage Patanjali who synthesized and organized knowledge about yoga from older traditions. The Yoga school, accepts the Samkhya psychology and metaphysics, but is more theistic, with the addition of a divine entity to Samkhya's twenty-five elements of reality. Nyaya: The Nyaya school is based on the Nyaya Sutras, written by Aksapada Gautama in the 2nd Century B.C. Its methodology is based on a system of logic that has subsequently been adopted by the majority of the Indian schools, in much the same way as Aristotelian logic has influenced Western philosophy. Nyaya developed several criteria by which the knowledge thus obtained was to be considered valid or invalid (equivalent in some ways to Western analytic philosophy). Vaisheshika: The Vaisheshika school was founded by Kanada in the 6th Century B.C., and it is atomist and pluralist in nature. The basis of the school's philosophy is that all objects in the physical universe are reducible to a finite number of atoms, and Brahman is regarded as the fundamental force that causes consciousness in these atoms. Purva Mimamsa: The main objective of the Purva Mimamsa school is to interpret and establish the authority of the Vedas. It requires unquestionable faith in the Vedas and the regular performance of the Vedic fire-sacrifices to sustain all the activity of the universe. Vedanta: The Vedanta, or Uttara Mimamsa, school concentrates on the philosophical teachings of the Upanishads, rather than the Brahmanas (instructions for ritual and sacrifice). Due to the rather cryptic and poetic nature of the Vedanta sutras, the school separated into six sub-schools, each interpreting the texts in its own way and producing its own series of sub-commentaries: Advaita (the best-known, which holds that the soul and Brahman are one and the same), Visishtadvaita (which teaches that the Supreme Being has a definite form, name - Vishnu - and attributes), Dvaita (which espouses a belief in three separate realities: Vishnu, and eternal soul and matter), Dvaitadvaita (which holds that Brahman exists independently, while soul and matter are dependent), Shuddhadvaita (which believes that Krishna is the absolute form of Brahman) and Acintya Bheda Abheda (which combines monism and dualism by stating that the soul is both distinct and non-distinct from Krishna, or God). Heterodox (Non-Hindu) Schools The main heterodox (nastika) schools, which do not accept the authority of the Vedas, include: Carvaka: Also known as Lokayata, Carvaka is a materialistic, sceptical and atheistic school of thought. Its founder was Carvaka, author of the Barhaspatya Sutras in the final centuries B.C., although the original texts have been lost and our understanding of them is based largely on criticism of the ideas by other schools Buddhist philosophy: Buddhism is a non-theistic system of beliefs based on the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama, an Indian prince later known as the Buddha, in the 5th Century B.C. The question of God is largely irrelevant in Buddhism, and it is mainly founded on the rejection of certain orthodox Hindu philosophical concepts (althought it does share some philosophical views with Hinduism, such as belief in karma). Jain philosophy: The central tenets of Jain philosophy were established by Mahavira in the 6th Century B.C., although Jainism as a religion is much older. A basic principle is anekantavada, the idea that reality is perceived differently from different points of view, and that no single point of view is completely true.

Group name: The League of Math-Magicians This was the final project to our teach Houston course. It's main purpose was to introduce our Probability Unit which was lead by a driving question and consisted of different concepts underneath this idea. Each segment introduced a new lesson of probability that contributed to the students understanding of this material and was well worth the effort. Unfortunately we had time constraints and couldn't finish the ending but you get the point. :) The targeted concept sections: The Counting Principle, Permutations and Combinations, Probability with Success and Failure, Multiplying Probability. Group members: Christina Norwood, Lujun Qian, Miguel Vasquez, Jose Razo. Special thanks to Michael Salcedo for the fantastic 8 bit graphics couldn't have done it without him. Thanks Mike.  There are sounds and songs from games played we give all right to those respective companies.

Teach English and Learn Hindi: An Interesting and Profitable Combination

00:35
http://www.PrimeHow.com/LearnHindi Would you like to Learn the Hindi Language? You may think that it is harder to figure out how to learn Hindi than it is to learn another, more familiar language. http://www.PrimeHow.com/LearnHindi But learning Hindi is well within the realm of the possible. Here are some tips for your success. Learning a language takes a lot of work over a long period of time, and your efforts in how to learn Hindi probably won't be any different. You might start your Hindi course with a lot of enthusiasm, but keeping your momentum over time takes work. There are a number of ways how to learn Hindi. You could travel to India and learn by immersion. You could take a course at a college or university. You could take a class in a commercial language school. You could study with a private tutor. The best way to learn how to speak Hindi is the best way for any other language spoken anywhere in the world. Try and get a Hindi speaking girlfriend and you can learn up the language fast and speak fluently in a matter of a few weeks or months. Jokes apart, Hindi is not at all a difficult language and can be learnt with the help of a free 6 day Hindi course that is available on the internet or at brick and mortar classes if you plan to do the course in India. The most effective way to learn a foreign language is through the linguistic approach - training starts from sounds, from which words and phrases are formed, until eventual construction of sentences using these words are made. A comprehensive report is now available to help you learn how to speak the Hindi language using linguistics in just 12 days or even less! With pronunciation guides, accurate glosses, and ample examples, you will never have any problem understanding each Hindi word and sentence you'll be encountering, until you'll be able to create your own sentences. Learn how to speak Hindi by studying Hindi vocabulary and Hindi grammar along with conversational Hindi phrases and the correct Hindi pronunciation. Through the use of free lessons you can find all the information you need to get started on learning the language. Satisfy your curiosity with information pertaining to the language, culture, and additional lesson materials to help fuel your desire to learn how to speak Hindi. Before you begin your quest to learn Hindi from English it's important to know a few things. Hindi is the national language of India. Although 90% Indians can speak and understand Hindi, surprisingly over 70% can't read or write in Hindi. These include many college graduates from non-Hindi regions of India. Unfortunately, the average person cannot afford plane tickets to India, no matter how badly he may want to immerse himself in the language. If this is you, don't worry. There are other ways of learning Hindi, such as books, audiotapes, or online courses. Which one will work for you depends on your preferences and how you learn best. If you are interested in learning Hindi, you may want to consider an online Hindi course. That's the best choice for many who want to learn the language, especially busy adult learners. Is it possible to learn Hindi online for free? And, if so, what are the best alternatives? These are two very easy questions to answer. Without any doubt, it is perfectly possible to begin to learn Hindi online for free. Indeed, it is a great way to get a basic foundation in the language before deciding to commit to a paid course to take you further. Secret techniques to play like Allan Holdsworth.

11:51
Just a couple of the elements I like to use to try and emulate one of my favorite players; the great Allan Holdsworth and his unique style of improvisation. Including some scales like the major scale (and it's modes), the melodic minor scale (and it's modes), the diminished scale (both forms: Whole Half and Half Whole Dimised) and the three note per string pentatonic scale. Also, some tension building concepts building up to a resolution. To top it off I go into Allan's phrasing and his use of legato, vibrato, slides and the whammy bar. Enjoy! In this video you will learn drum fill or lick that can be used in any style and as a starting point for you to create your own ideas. If you continue with the 4 in the hands 2 in the feet phrasing your will have over the bar line phrase that is nice in solos. Try to play it at different tempos and in different styles to maximize the idea. Apply the idea to different sound sources on the drums to give it your personal touch. Please rate this video and let me know what you think. If there are topics you would like to hear about please comment and I'll try to include it in upcoming videos. Thanks. Harald Huyssen is a professional drummer and educator based in Manila Philippines. What we've got today is a hand exercise using the flam accent which is a rudiment, and what we're gonna do is move the flam to different locations within the rudiment. And, this is a great rudiment because it, ah, switches leads so it helps you build your strength, and equality between the left and the right. Here's what the exercise sounds like. Three bar exercise. So play in the center of the drum to keep your tone consistent. Try to work with a metronome to keep your time consistent. And, here's a simple application we'll put it in a shuffle. So have fun, come up with your own variations, try to apply it whenever you get the chance. Keep on drumming. God bless you.

Van Halen Sessions - Guitar Lessons - Session 2 - Guitar Breakdown - How To Play

12:56
http://www.guitarBreakdown.com Van Halen Sessions - Guitar Lessons - Session 2 - Guitar Breakdown - Guitar instruction and Breakdown. Welcome to the second video in a series of videos that we are calling "The Sessions". In these lesson we will be breaking down the techniques of many of the best guitar players ever to play. The lessons we do in" The Sessions" category will comprise of short lessons that focus on a specific technique, idea or lick that are prominent in the players style and in some way define their sound. In the Van Halen Sessions will will be breaking down one of the greatest guitar players of the 70's and 80's. Eddie Van Halen is known for many amazing aspects of his playing: innovative two handed techniques, grooving riffs, whammy bar madness, incredible tone, etc.  But one of the more substantial areas often overlooked is his clever combination of phrasing ideas with the guitar's idiomatic technique.  And with a figure as prominent as EVH, we probably shouldn't leave any stone unturned.   In the second installment in a series of lessons on the elements of Eddie Van Halen's solos style, we explore a scale sequence idea found in "Spanish Fly."  Like installment #1, this lick is also very adaptable to many circumstances and is easy to apply rhythmically.  In this lesson we'll look at the specific example from "Spanish Fly" followed by several permutations of the idea.  With it's combination of picking and legato, this is another lick that will help you build scale speed in addition to giving your solos interesting articulation. Stay tuned for more installments of the Van Halen Sessions coming soon at GuitarBreakdown Ok ... hope you enjoy this lesson and continue to check out our videos. We have a lot of fun things planned for the future, hope you stick around ... Taught by Carl Culpepper Alright ... Lets get to it. Innovative rangoli designs using rangoli making techniques tips tricks with CD and buds

02:51
A simple method to get a symmetrical special rangoli design with old CD for Diwali decoration ideas . A quick method to get an easy rangoli design that is perfectly symmetrical . Place the waste CDs as shown in the rangoli video above. Draw the outline with white rangoli. Fill the holes at the centre of the CDs will rangoli colours. Place dots inside of the CD arrangement. Remove the old Cds reused for this craft carefully. This is the only place we have to be careful in an otherwise simple and awesome method to ensure that the patterns drawn are not disturbed. After removing the Cds use imagination to fill colours and draw patterns with cotton buds and finger techniques. This method can be used for learning to draw a rangoli or for school competitions. This novel idea can also be used for Christmas decorations ideas for our homes and also for New Year decoration. There is also a tradition of drawing four or five kolam for Pongal or Sankranti rangoli designs near the entrance or around the Pongal pot , this design using this different method if cerating kolam can be one of these kolam designs. Margazhi and Pongal rangoli were Dhanurmasam and Sankranti muggulu for my mother I She lived in Vizianagaram near Vishakapattinam. These festivals are similar to Diwali in many parts of India when rangoli is one of the most important decorations for the festival. Rangoli making with old Cds is a novel idea that I thought of. There were many requests by first time learners on easy methods to draw rangoli. So I tried to find some method of using objects in our homes that can be made to create rangoli. Two common things that are used in many households came to my mind. They are the ubiquitous compact disc and bangles. The permutations and combinations that can be achieved by these two objects to get various patterns is mind boggling. In this series of rangoli art designs this is one of the simplest and easiest . I think such craft ideas can also form part of school projects for craft , art for kids. Also while it is the usual practice to draw traditional and old rangoli designs with lines also called padi kolam for Tamil New Year , such totally new concepts can also be applied when we try something different Traditional rangoli is made with the use of three fingers , nowadays there is the concept of summer camp for kids where we have various types of arts and crafts activities. This idea can be part of the curriculum for summer camps activities for children . It should be suitable for both boys and girls given the nature of the method adopted. Such novel ideas can form part of our Varalakshmi Vratham Pooja or Navratri decorations too. Along with the old type rangoli designs we can have something modern and different too. Why don't you try for these festivals To sum it up homemade tools are available before our eyes , they are used by us daily or objects that are discarded as not usable. We can arrange them to form beautiful patterns that are symmetrical so making rangoli for the Deepavali season is just kids play.
