How to Relieve Arthritis Pain Pls share: https://youtu.be/67DH7tnyP_4 There are many different forms of therapy that a person can engage in with arthritis or any other condition out there. There are natural forms of healing, prescription medications, relaxation at your local Spa and so on. Relaxation is a key factor when it comes to people that have arthritis because did you know that adding stress into your life will actually cause your arthritic pains to worsen, as well various forms of inflammation? You wouldn't think that by having a lot of stress in your life would cause your arthritis to get worse, but it does because when you become tensed up, your muscles and joints will act accordingly to that. Today, we are actually going to be taking a look into hot and cold therapies for people which suffer with arthritis. Joint Pain and Heat Therapy By adding heat to your daily routine, such as a hot bath or shower, you will not only help to relax your muscles, but you will also increase the blood circulation in your body and this will be great if you suffer with arthritis because by increasing proper blood flow in your body, you will be helping to diminish the pains and inflammation that comes along with arthritis. What I would personally recommend you do is when you come home from a long day of work, I would come home and sit on the heating pad while you eat dinner or watch some television. It's always important to try and get as much heat on your joints and muscles as you can each day, okay? What will heat therapy do for people that suffer with arthritis? That's a great question because if you are one that actually does suffer from arthritic pains, you have probably tired all that you can when it comes to relieving your pains and inflammation flareups. By applying heat therapy to your joints and muscles, this will help the pain to go down in your joints because your joints are being relaxed, simple as that. Heat therapy is also a great way for a person to wind down from a busy or stressful day. Stress is a key factor that plays into arthritic flareups and inflammation and when we can get our stress under control, we will tend to find out that our arthritic pain isn't as severe as when we don't take care of our selves in the right format. You can even make your own heating pad with washcloths and apply pressure onto the afflicted joint or muscle. There are so many ways to introduce heat therapy into your life when you have arthritis. The most popular form of heat therapy are those hot compresses to apply right on the afflicted joint, as well taking a hot bath or shower. Joint Pain and Cold Therapy Did you know that cold therapy is just as effective in relieving arthritic pains as heat therapy is? That's right, as they both have benefits in which people with arthritis can profit from if used correctly. A lot of the times, arthritic pain will tend to feel as though it's burning the joint or muscle and this can cause a lot of discomfort for people which suffer with this condition. Imagine having an itch that you absolutely cannot scratch. Wouldn't that be absolutely horrid to experience? What I would personally recommend you do if you are feeling a burning sensation from your arthritic pain is the following. You could go get an ice pack from the freezer or a bag of frozen vegetables and simply apply the bags to the area on your arms or legs that's burning. That's all that you will need to do. There are some people which are brave enough to take an ice bath and that's where you run cold water and fill the tub with ice cubes and just soak in it for X amount of time. All this kind of cold therapy will help your joints and muscles to not feel as though they are burning through your skin. If you apply a cold pack to the swelling in your arms or legs, this will also help to bring down your puffiness of that infected joint or muscle. Apply Biofreeze Pain Reliever to the affected area not more than 4 times daily; massage not necessary. Q: Where can I buy Biofreeze? A: We at Primo Medical Supplies carry this product all the time. Q: Do I need a prescription to get Biofreeze? A: No, you do not need a prescription. Q: How does Biofreeze work? A: Biofreeze products are classified as topical analgesics, which work through a ‘counter irritant’ mechanism. This means that the menthol in Biofreeze creates a sensation that overrides pain signals to the brain. This process is known as ‘Gate Control Theory’, where nerve impulses from one stimulus block the nerves containing pain signals to the brain. Recent research also suggests that menthol may stimulate cold receptors in the skin that may help regulate pain as well. Q: Is Biofreeze commonly used? A: Yes, Biofreeze is the #1 used and recommended topical pain reliever by chiropractors, massage therapists, physical therapists, and podiatrists. Q: How often can I use Biofreeze? A: Biofreeze can be used up to four times a day. Q: What is cryotherapy? A: Also known as ‘cold therapy’, cryotherapy is the application of cold to temporarily relieve pain. The related term cryokinetics refers to the pairing of pain-relieving cryotherapy with exercise. This cooling and re-warming of tissue stimulates the return of blood flow to the affected areas. The most common form of cryotherapy is ice. Biofreeze produces the same sensation of cold that accompanies icing. But unlike ice, Biofreeze products allow you to remain active during treatment. Q: Are there scientific studies done on Biofreeze? A: Yes, Biofreeze conducts all FDA required studies such as: skin sensitization, drug stability, and process validation testing. Q: Can you give me the name of a medical distributor in my area? A: No, we do not have access to that information. Medical distributors do not sell directly to patients and have requested that we do not give out this information. Please contact Primo Medical Supplies in San Antonio. Q: What sizes of Biofreeze are available to purchase by a patient? A: Biofreeze is available in a 4 fl oz gel tube, 4 fl oz gel tube with hands-free applicator, 4 fl oz 360° spray, 3 fl oz roll-on. o The 4 fl oz Biofreeze gel tube is particularly well-suited for hands-on massage applications of larger muscle areas. o The 4 fl oz Biofreeze gel tube with hands-free applicator allows the user to apply the gel either hands-free or hands-on. The delicate sponge applicator is perfect for even application of Biofreeze on sore joint, especially smaller joints like the knuckles. o The 3 fl oz Biofreeze roll-on is a hands-free application with the added benefit of the roller ball that can be used to massage painful muscles and stimulate trigger points in the affected area. o The 4 fl oz Biofreeze 360° Spray is hands-free application designed for hard to reach areas and is particularly beneficial for conditions involving minor neck and back pain. Q: Can I buy the larger bottle sizes of the Biofreeze? A: The larger sizes of Biofreeze are designed for in clinic use. Please consult a healthcare practitioner regarding the purchase of professional sizes. Q: How long does Biofreeze last, when is the expiration date? A: The product’s shelf life is 2 years. The expiration date can be located on the package of Biofreeze Pain Relieving Product. Q: What is the active ingredient in Biofreeze? A: The active ingredient in Biofreeze is menthol. Q: Will Biofreeze cause any adverse effects if I am taking other medications? A: Biofreeze is only a topical pain reliever and has a low potential for absorption. We do suggest that you always check with your healthcare professional before using Biofreeze. Q: Can I wrap the area where I have used the Biofreeze? A: No. You should not wrap or bandage the area where Biofreeze is being applied.

http://isocomforter.com (877) 277 0367 FREE | Cold Therapy West Palm Beach After years of abusing my body, playing sports,,, my knees became extremely painful As a retired hospital administrator,,, I knew what was coming. Knee surgery I knew the operation was fairly simple,,, but I also knew the recovery could be painful,,, because of the swelling and inflammation. I did my own research and came across the Iso – 100 system. It’s a cooling mechanism that reduces pain and swelling in the affected area and speeds healing. I asked my doctor, if I could bring this system to the hospital to assist me in my healing process,,, after surgery. To my surprise… he said… NO! I was in the hospital for 4 days,,, after surgery About a year and a half later I needed my other knee operated on… with the same exact surgery. But,,, I had a different doctor this time,,, and once again I asked him if I could bring my Iso-100 system in for recovery assistance,,, after my surgery. He said,,, sure To my surprise,,, I was only in the hospital for two days,,, using the ISO-100 system. All I can say is; it works. And later I had rotator cuff surgery done, and again the system really sped up my recovery time,,, and relieved most of my pain. If You Suffer from Arthritis Pain and Joint Aches, Here’s What You Should Know! The Center for Control Disease and Prevention says that 52.2 million Americans were diagnosed with arthritis between 2008-2012. The Center also says that one in every two people in the USA develops osteoarthritis in their knees by their 80s, although young people can be affected by this condition as well. According to statistical data, 294 000 children under 18 in the USA suffer from arthritis or rheumatism, which is quickly becoming a big health concern. The usual symptoms caused by the different forms of arthritis are pain, stiffness, inflammation and swelling in the joints. Prescription medications and painkillers often don’t work, but luckily, natural remedies can easily relieve the pain. Here are the best natural remedies against arthritic pain: Ginger Ginger is a powerful anti-inflammatory agent that can reduce the inflammation in your joints and relieve the pain. The effects have been compared to those of Iburpofen, but ginger works even better in some cases. Drink 4 cups of ginger tea every day and you will soon get rid of the pain in your knees. Magnesium Magnesium is a mineral involved in over 300 metabolic processes in the body such as relieving pain and stiffness. It also helps bones mineralize and keeps them strong. We suggest eating magnesium-rich foods such as beans, nuts and leafy green vegetables or taking magnesium as a supplement to fight the pain in your joints. Morning bath Taking a hot bath in the morning will relieve the stiffness in your joints and prevent the pain. Turmeric Turmeric and its active compound curcumin can effectively relieve pain and stiffness, and this has been proven by several studies. Drink a cup of turmeric tea every day or eat more curry to add turmeric into your diet. Olive oil Cold-pressed olive oil contains anti-inflammatory enzymes that work just as well as Ibuprofen, but don’t cause any side-effects. Start cooking with olive oil and add it to salads and various meals. You can also use it to massage your knees and joints twice a day to relieve the pain. Consume more fish Fish such as salmon, tuna, mackerel and herring contain healthy omega-3 fatty acids which relieve the tenderness and stiffness in joints. If you don’t like fish, you can take fish oil supplements to increase the levels of omega-3 fatty acids. We gloves overnight Wearing gloves overnight will improve the circulation in your hands and easily relieve the arthritic pain. Wearing gloves will also prevent the stiffness and swelling in your hands. Add citrus fruits in your diet Vitamin C is crucial for proper cartilage formation and also fights against free radicals in the body. To increase the levels of vitamin C in the body, you should eat citrus fruits such as lemons, limes and oranges. As you can see, arthritis doesn’t have to be debilitating – just try some of these natural remedies and you will be free of pain. https://youtu.be/NMF99zm-4oM

Most people have heard of arthritis or have a family member that’s dealt with its debilitating effects. But it’s not as common to know specifics about this disease - such as the range of different types, signs and symptoms, and the multitude of ways to manage or treat it. You may be familiar with the two main types of arthritis, which include osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. But in actuality, arthritis and related joint problems show themselves in over 100 different ways, affecting over 50 million adults. And to the surprise of most folks, arthritis is America’s top reason for disability, according to the Arthritis Foundation. The main difference in the various types of arthritis is the way in which the condition starts. However, most forms of arthritis lead to similar symptoms - resulting in joints that are painful, swollen, and stiff. People can also experience different levels of these symptoms, which can linger for a continued period of time – or show themselves infrequently in spurts. But over time, someone with arthritis will eventually suffer from a reduced level of body movement, which can negatively impact their quality of life. It's possible for some types of arthritis to go into remission as long as the person keeps up with medical treatments and lifestyle recommendations. However, traditional medicine does not include a cure for arthritis. Instead, there’s a variety of different means that are used to manage the disease, including medication and surgery. In some cases, natural treatments may also be recommended by doctors, which can include vitamins, minerals and herbs, as well as massage, electrical stimulation, and hot and cold therapy. But most people - even those who are experimenting with alternative treatments for arthritis - may not be aware of red and near infrared light therapy – which has been studied extensively and found to be effective for improving this disease. Studies have supported its use in different types of arthritis and in various parts of the body. In fact, red and near infrared light therapy even shows promise in physically changing the condition of the joints. Learn more at joovv.com

Watch more How to Do Physical Therapy Exercises for the Knees videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/510337-Ice-vs-Heat-for-Knee-Pain-Knee-Exercises Learn what is better for knee pain, ice treatment or heat treatment, in this Howcast video about physical therapy exercises for the knees. If you're having some knee pain and it's fairly acute or sub-acute in origin there's only one way to go. You're going to want to use ice to help you with this pain for a couple of reasons. The ice first of all is what's called a vasoconstrictor, meaning it's going to constrict the blood vessels heading towards that joint area. Less blood to the area can really help promote the reduction of your swelling problem that's going on in the beginning. The other reason why the ice is beneficial is because it can literally sort of numb the painful receptors inside the joint, so there's this temporary feeling of improvement and decreased pain. If you do it every day or maybe once or twice a day, you can sort of have a carry-over effect and speed up the recovery, as well. The heat option is really good to soothe muscles. It's something down the line after you've been doing some exercising. Your joint problem is under control, but now your muscles are a little sore from over exercising and that's where the heat's going to come in. But by and large, you're going to want to ice your knee in the presence of acute pain or sub-acute pain. Once a day might be successful. Twice a day is probably better. Timeline-wise maybe a 10-minute interval, maybe 15 minutes at the most depending on how cold the ice is. If you're literally using ice cubes and putting it in a bag, you might want to put a cloth between your skin and the actual ice cubes. If it's too cold, it can actually irritate the skin some, so you might want to put a layer of cloth in between. If it's an ice pack that you can get at the CVS or Rite-Aid, that can go right on your skin for about 10 to 15 minutes, so definitely ice, compared to heat.

How to Treat Gout || Top 5 Health Tips ============================================= ============================================= 1. Understand the symptoms of gout. Caused by an excess buildup of uric acid, gout's symptoms may vary significantly from patient to patient, including development of chronic gout instead of isolated episodes. By and large, however, gout's symptoms include: Warmth, pain, redness, and swelling in a joint of a limb, usually a big toe in the foot, although it often develops in the ankle or knee. Pain that starts during the night and maintains an almost unbearable intensity. Peeling or itchiness in the skin around the affected joint(s). 2. Know the goals of treating gout. Gout comes with several different side-effects and symptoms. Treating gout often involves understanding how to treat the different possible aspects of the condition: End the pain of acute flares. Prevent future attacks. Halt the formation of tophi (masses of urate crystals deposited in soft tissue). Intercept the growth of kidney stones. 3. Talk to your doctor about the medications you're currently taking. Some medication that you are currently taking may interfere with the medications you're using to treat gout, in addition to affecting the amount of uric acid your body produces. Talk to your doctor about any adverse pharmacological interactions you might be experiencing. 4. Limit your intake of food with a moderate amount of purines. Foods that should be consumed with caution and moderation include: Seafood and fish (other than high-purine seafood) Oatmeal 5. Enjoy the foods that are especially low in purines. The following foods can be eaten without worrying about their effect on your uric acid buildup: Green, leafy vegetables Fruits and fruit juices Processed (non-whole grain) breads and cereals Chocolate and cocoa Butter, buttermilk, eggs, and cheese Beverages like coffee, tea, and carbonated sodas Nuts and assorted nut butters

Laser therapy for arthritis. Arthritis is a chronic disease and till time its treatment includes reducing the pain that the patient feel. Laser therapy used for arthritis is also called as cold therapy and it is regarded as the best way to treat the arthritis. Laser therapy is a technique in which a beam of strong rays is applied to the affected area and these heat rays activates the cells and destroy the damaged and pain causing cells. In arthritis the pain is caused due to the swelling of the tissues and cells due to the lack of blood towards the painful and affected area. Laser therapy is used in the treatment of many medical conditions and is more effective than surgery and medications. In the treatment of arthritis, pain in the joints is the considerable point and it needs to be cured and treated to it maximum level. The placement of light rays above or below the affected areas activates the cells by improving the flow of blood towards hat area. Pain and destructions of cells and tissues in arthritis is caused due to lack of blood to that area. Laser therapy is used as a treatment with minimal side effects in the current century and it is easy to get the desired results as compared to other medications used. Laser therapy is the most advanced form used for the treatment of various diseases. Although in some cases it has side effects but these temporary side effects diminish with time the body’s functions become regular. For treating the arthritis and in minimizing the pain laser therapy is the best alternative designed. Various drug and nondrug treatments show unimpressive results for arthritis, level laser therapy is best alternative for minimizing the arthritic pain because as already mentioned in arthritis, pain is the main focusing point while considering and suggesting treatments for arthritis. Like all other health disorders, various treatment strategies have been introduced in medical field for treating arthritis. Laser treatment for arthritis is a vulnerable and advance form of treatment that is introduced. However, the side effects of the therapy are still controversial but laser treatment is being used at a large scale. When we talk about the effectiveness of the disease, we cannot forget the signs and symptoms of the diseases and one cannot mete out the effectiveness only by analyzing the signs and symptoms of the disease. Unlike other medication and treatments low level laser therapy has no side effect. Cold laser therapy is another form of laser treatment that has been seen very effective to treat the pain. Pain in the joints and mornings sickness and pains are two sings that ultimately demands various treatments because these pains are unbearable and laser treatment has been suggested to lessen the pain. Arthritis causes increased inflammation around the joint that can lead to immobility and pain. While there are conventional medical treatments that are available for people with arthritis, many wonder what can be done along with medication to help improve mobility with their arthritis. In fact, there are many natural methods to help manage pain and improve mobility. This article will show you five different alternative therapies and treatments that can help you manage your daily arthritis symptoms and mobility issues. Hydrotherapy Web M.D. recommends hydrotherapy as a form of exercise for those with arthritis. Hydrotherapy is similar to exercise and a pool, however, the pool tends to be warmer than a traditional swimming pool. With hydrotherapy, participants can get all of the benefits of regular exercise without any of the impact on joints. This may be especially beneficial to those with arthritis because the joints are particularly affected. Having an option for exercise that has zero impact on the joints can increase mobility as well as range of motion. Many times hydrotherapy is considered a form of physical therapy and may be covered by insurance. Range of Motion Exercise Many sufferers of arthritis keep the affected joints in a tightened position to alleviate pain. Unfortunately, this has the unintended side effect of increasing pain because it shortens ligaments and muscles around the affected joint. This means that instead of decreasing pain over the long-term keeping the joints in a tightened position will increase pain. The Cleveland Clinic recommends all arthritis sufferers participate in range of motion exercises. The range of motion exercises typically includes stretching and extending the joints to their full ability. Some range of motion programs may include yoga or tai chi. Lose Weight Because arthritis causes pain and immobility many sufferers of arthritis have excess weight. The excess weight increases pressure and damage on the joints. The increased pressure and damage on the joints increases pain which causes decreased mobility. It becomes a never ending cycle of increased pain and decreased mobility. Mayo Clinic recommends that if you have arthritis, you maintain a healthy body weight. If you’re currently overweight and have a difficult time moving a healthy body weight can be maintained through proper diet. A meeting with a dietitian can help you start a healthy diet if you are not sure where to begin. The dietitian or nutritionist may also have ideas on foods that can help decrease inflammation in the body and reduce pain from your arthritis. Hot and Cold Therapy One of the benefits of hot and cold therapy is that it can be done at home. The second benefit to hot and cold therapy is that it is very inexpensive. Heating pads and ice packs are easy to have on hand and don’t cost a lot of money. Healthline suggests that arthritis sufferers try alternating hot and cold therapy to affected joints to decrease pain. You may find that some days cold therapy works the best on your arthritic joints while other days a heating pad may be better. Having both on hand to use is going to be the best way to ensure that this therapy is effective at increasing your mobility and decreasing your pain. Massage The arthritis foundation notes that one of the most beneficial treatments for mobility in arthritis patients is massage. Massage can help increase range of motion simply by relieving tension on stiff muscles and ligaments that surround the arthritic joints. The arthritis foundation says that the best types of massage for people with arthritis are either deep tissue massage or Swedish massage. If you are having a high amount of pain deep tissue massage may be difficult to tolerate because of how deep into the muscle massage therapist will go. Either way, massage therapy is an easily accessible treatment to help increase your range of motion when you have arthritis. While arthritis will not go away no matter how well you take care of your body, you can manage your symptoms and stop the progression of the disease. Thanks for watching!!
