"There are lot of conditions which give rise to acute nose bleed. We can go systematically as one of the cause being trauma. During any blows nose is the most vulnerable structure which gets injured. Any injury with a fractured nasal bone or soft tissue injury to other structures of the cheek bones and other bones can result in a brisk nose bleed. Infective conditions include acute rhinitis, chronic rhinitis, acute sinusitis, acute exacerbations of allergic rhinitis, forceful blowing of the nose. Nose picking is another common condition of nose bleed. Not to forget about the septal spurs which are kinking upon the local blood vessels and whenever least amount of trauma occurring on to the septum the individual can result from nose bleed. Some of the rarer causes being malignant conditions of the nose and in adolescent males the condition called angiofibroma of the nose where there can be very brisk severe nose bleed. Sometimes coming to the systemic causes we have to keep in mind hypertension. Raised blood pressure is a very important cause of recurrent nose bleed. This is a posterior epistaxis coming from high up in the nose. Uncontrolled blood pressure really results in a massive nose bleed. Some of the blood dyscrasias also can cause serious epistaxis. Purpuras, haemophilia and any other clotting or bleeding factor deficiency can result in a brisk recurrent nose bleed. There is another condition called hereditary haemorrhagic telengiectasia where there are small abnormal capillaries scattered all around the mucosa of the nose. These people keep on coming with recurrent minor or sometimes major nose bleed. Medications like aspirin or clopidogrel can result in thinning of the mucosa result in quite copious epistaxis. Sometimes environmental conditions like excessive heating or dryness of the air can result in epistaxis. "

Allergies: Allergens like pollen are nothing more than foreign plant antigens. The stimulus for sneezing gets triggered when allergens first enter the nasal tissue. Pollen allergens encounter the plasma cells in the nose, which respond by producing antibodies. These antibodies attach to mast cells, which are white blood cells containing the chemical histamine. As more antibodies are produced, they cause the mast cells to release histamine. Histamine then produces allergy symptoms. A stuffy and runny nose, sneezing and watery eyes help to remove the invading pollen. Medications called antihistamines may be used to help alleviate severe allergy symptoms. Music Source: Is That You or Are You You by Chris Zabriskie is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://chriszabriskie.com/reappear/ Artist: http://chriszabriskie.com/ Heredity, environmental conditions, number and type of exposures and emotional factors can indicate a predisposition to allergies. Allergies often bring to mind sneezing, a runny nose or watery eyes. While these are symptoms of some types of allergic disease, it’s important to understand that an allergic reaction is actually a result of a chain reaction that begins in your genes and is expressed by your immune system. What is happening inside your body when you have an allergic reaction? The Immune System Your immune system controls how your body defends itself. For instance, if you have an allergy to pollen, your immune system identifies pollen as an invader or allergen. Your immune system overreacts by producing antibodies called Immunoglobulin E (IgE). These antibodies travel to cells that release chemicals, causing an allergic reaction. This reaction usually causes symptoms in the nose, lungs, throat, sinuses, ears, lining of the stomach or on the skin. Each type of IgE has specific "radar" for each type of allergen. That's why some people are only allergic to cat dander (they only have the IgE antibodies specific to cat dander); while others have allergic reactions to multiple allergens because they have many more types of IgE antibodies. An allergy is a reaction by your immune system to something that does not bother most other people. People who have allergies often are sensitive to more than one thing. Substances that often cause reactions are Pollen Dust mites Mold spores Pet dander Food Insect stings Medicines Normally, your immune system fights germs. It is your body's defense system. In most allergic reactions, however, it is responding to a false alarm. Genes and the environment probably both play a role. Allergies can cause a variety of symptoms such as a runny nose, sneezing, itching, rashes, swelling, or asthma. Allergies can range from minor to severe. Anaphylaxis is a severe reaction that can be life-threatening. Doctors use skin and blood tests to diagnose allergies. Treatments include medicines, allergy shots, and avoiding the substances that cause the reactions. Allergies An allergy is an immune response or reaction to substances that are usually not harmful. Causes Allergies are very common. Both genes and environment play a role. If both your parents have allergies, there is a good chance that you have them, too. The immune system normally protects the body against harmful substances, such as bacteria and viruses. It also reacts to foreign substances called allergens. These are usually harmless and in most people do not cause a problem. Allergic reactions In a person with allergies, the immune response is oversensitive. When it recognizes an allergen, the immune system launches a response. Chemicals such as histamines are released. These chemicals cause allergy symptoms. Allergic reaction can be provoked by skin contact with poison plants, chemicals and animal scratches, as well as by insect stings. Ingesting or inhaling substances like pollen, animal dander, molds and mildew, dust, nuts and shellfish, may also cause allergic reaction. Medications such as penicillin and other antibiotics are also to be taken with care, to assure an allergic reflex is not triggered. The immune system normally responds to harmful substances such as bacteria, viruses and toxins by producing symptoms such as runny nose and congestion, post-nasal drip and sore throat, and itchy ears and eyes. An allergic reaction can produce the same symptoms in response to substances that are generally harmless, like dust, dander or pollen. The sensitized immune system produces antibodies to these allergens, which cause chemicals called histamines to be released into the bloodstream, causing itching, swelling of affected tissues, mucus production, hives, rashes, and other symptoms. Symptoms vary in severity from person to person.

Somebody maybe using blood thinners and their clotting may be deranged. There are certain drugs that cause bleeding like blood thinners can predispose to bleeding. But most drugs cannot predispose to bleeding from the nose including antihistamines. We give antihistamines for patients who have allergic manifestations from the nose. Also we give them along with decongestants for nasal infections and pre and post nasal surgeries. It can cause dryness in the nose. But other than that a direct reason for bleeding from the nose is unlikely.

Nosebleeds - What Causes Them and How to Stop It Over the years I have learned some of the reasons why some people get a lot of nosebleeds. I will share these things with you, so you may find that one of these causes, is what is giving you nosebleeds, and you may be able to stop them for good. 1. Allergy to pain medications - Bufferin, Aleve, Advil, Motrin, Anacin, Excederin all reduce inflammation and can affect blood clotting and may even cause blood thinning, many folks are allergic to such medications, or become allergic to them later in life. I myself was diagnosed with being very allergic to such medication when I was around age 20. Most of them nosebleeds I had as a child and during my early teenage years, were quite probably caused by the aspirin's I took for headaches. I recently asked a pharmacist if a person was allergic to aspirin, due to bleeding, what other over the counter pain medications could that person take, the pharmacist said, nothing would be safe, except Tylenol. 2. Abnormal veins inside the lining of the nose - Inside the nose there are a lot of small blood vessels, in some folks these vessels lie very close to the surface of the skin or nose lining, it takes very little pressure to rupture these vessels, causing a moderate or severe nosebleed. 3. Being Rough - Getting Hit while in a fight, or by an object, or even Wiping the nose roughly with a towel when drying off from a shower can rupture a blood vessel inside the nose and cause bleeding. 4. Head Colds - When you get a head cold, be very careful when blowing the nose, blow it gently and wipe it gently. Don't sniff your nose with force, when it's runny, do it gently also, when you have a head cold, the lining inside the nose gets inflamed and the blood vessels swell slightly, this can make a nosebleed occur much easier then when you do not have a head cold. 5. Don't Pick - It is a common thing to pick the nose, things inside it just don't feel comfortable, but sometimes, you may dig loose a scab that has formed, or the edge of a finger nail, or even the rough end of a finger is all it takes to rupture a blood vessel, and get the nose bleeding. 6. Bending Over - Be wary of bending over when standing, the blood pressure levels in the head change, and force can build up enough, to cause a thin vessel inside the nose to rupture during bending over, or even several minutes after having been upright again. 7. Winter Nosebleeds - Winter time is a curse to folks that are prone to nosebleeds, the low humidity levels of winter, cause the air to become very dry, this makes the lining inside the nose to become dry and almost brittle, the skin covering the blood vessels develops minor cracks, and breaks easily in dry weather, causing severe nosebleeds. One remedy for this is to take a little Vaseline, and using the tip of a finger, gently apply some inside to the lining of each nostril, before going to sleep, or during the hours you are awake, if you desire to do so. This helps keep the inside of the nose moist, and prevents it from drying out and cracking, and bleeding. Nosebleeds - What Causes Them and How to Stop It

Arizona resident Joe Nagy mistook his constant runny nose for an allergy when in fact it was brain fluids that were coming out of his nose. Nagy's symptoms continued for 18 months. He tried taking allergy medicine, but it didn't stop the clear liquid from coming out of his nostrils. After an examination, a doctor found that the liquid was actually Nagy's brain leaking fluids, due to small hole on the membrane around his brain. Fever with nose bleeds, it can happen in lots of problems especially so if you have a bad cold, like infective cold or infective rhinitis can lead to the tissues being swollen. There is going to be a lot of mucus secretion and running nose, sometimes sneezing. In this situation, the person starts sneezing or blowing the nose regularly, the congested and swollen tissues can break easily and this can lead to bleeding. So you can take some decongestant, you can do some steam inhalation, maybe some anti-cold, anti-allergic medication to start with. If the things are not getting controlled and the fever gets worsened or the cold becomes more of a headache or sore throat, cough, anything like that then you can visit the doctor and start with appropriate medications. But the prime thing is that you shouldn’t be blowing the nose forcefully, even if the nose is blocked, please understand that it is only the congested swollen tissues that are blocking, not the mucus. So trying to blow the nose to remove the mucus or snot and spit the mucus out will only give you a fractional or a temporary relief and probably end up in injuring the tissues rather than giving any real benefit.

Nose bleeds are usually seen in children and probably in certain adults where they have some sort of nasal trouble like allergies or recurrent infections or some sort of deviation of the septum. Heat as such is a relative term. In modern medicine, we don’t have that kind of a phenomenon. Rather we would say the dryness of the skin, rather the pinkish colour skin inside the nose, if it gets dried up, it start cracking, the reason for it being pink is that under a very transparent skin, there is a mesh of blood vessels, and if there is a crack in the skin the blood vessels will get exposed and any further insult like blowing the nose or sneezing or if you pick the nose or put your finger inside or some people even use the paper towels or handkerchiefs, then you tend to break open the blood vessels and it will start bleeding. Extreme dryness, especially if the child is in a winter climate or inside AC, again the blood vessels can crack by themselves and the bleed can happen in sleep. So heat as such, I would say dryness or local injury are the prime reason for the bleed to happen from the nose. So for you understand this, you will definitely keep the nostrils moist, maybe by applying some moisturiser cream, like in olden days we used to use butter or ghee, coconut oil, something you apply there in the nose, which will keep the area moist and it will keep the skin form cracking and hence keep the area moist also.

►Why NoseBleed? – NOSE BLEEDING Home Remedies – Epistaxis – Causes - http://powerhealthyt.com →Subscribe HERE: https://goo.gl/2d9f4w →Our Facebook: https://goo.gl/XyVkA1 →Our Blog: http://www.powerhealthyt.com What is epistaxis? Why nosebleed? nosebleed home remedies - Epistaxis - Causes. Epistaxis is bleeding from the nose. At least 11% of all Americans have at least one nosebleed in your life. Nosebleeds are very common in athletes who participate in contact or collision activities, such as boxing, wrestling, hockey and soccer. There are two types of nosebleeds: anterior (front) and posterior (rear). Posterior nosebleeds is at least severe general, but may be more alarming because the blood is oozing from the nostril. Unlike the anterior nosebleed, the posterior nosebleeds are not readily visible because blood slides down the back of the throat. The anterior nosebleed usually occurs in younger patients, as a result of an injury to the nose or nasal membranes dry. Posterior nosebleeds usually occurs in elderly patients where vessels and arteries harden the rear nose and break. Why nosebleed? Causes and Risks The most common cause of nosebleed is trauma (sudden, forceful injury) in the nose. Trauma can cause nasal broken bones, which in turn can cause lacerations (cuts) to the nasal membranes. Upper respiratory tract infection, allergies, inhaling drugs, and sinusitis can cause inflammation of the membranes, leading to tissue that may bleed easily. Some medications, such as aspirin, nasal drops, and anticoagulants, and certain diseases, such as aplastic anemia, leukemia, hemophilia, Hodgkin's disease, rheumatic fever, atherosclerosis, hypertension, thrombocytopenia (low platelet count) and liver disease, can also cause nosebleeds. Dry climates and high altitudes can cause the vessels of the nariznsangren easily, especially when nose rings. Why nosebleed? Signs and symptoms In an anterior nosebleed, blood is usually seen running from the nose. If the bleeding area is located near the nostril, you can see bright red blood. If the bleeding area is deeper in the nose, the blood is usually dark red. Dizziness, palpitations and shortness of breath may be experienced if a lot of blood is lost. Why nosebleed? Prevention Since most nosebleeds come from direct trauma, use of protective equipment for head and face during sports activity can reduce the risk of injury. Treatment of any underlying medical condition may also prevent nosebleeds. During the winter months and in dry climates, humidify the air can help moisturize the nasal passages and avoid excessively dry nasal tissues. how to stop nose bleed, nose bleeding, nose bleed, how to stop a nose bleed, frequent nose bleeds, random nose bleeds, nose bleeds in kids, what causes nosebleeds, nosebleed, nosebleeds, causes of nosebleeds, nosebleed causes, nose bleeds, stop nose bleed, what causes bloody noses, bloody nose causes, nose bleeds in pregnancy, what to do for a nose bleed, sinus, sinusitis, sinus problems, epistaxis, epistaxis causes, epistaxis treatment ►Why NoseBleed? – NOSE BLEEDING Home Remedies – Epistaxis – Causes - https://youtu.be/-RrLme4HPeU

Nasonex belongs to a group of drugs called topical steroids. These work by affecting the immune system, which then leads to a decrease in swelling of the nasal passages. This medication comes in the form of a nasal spray that is inhaled through the nose, once or twice a day, in each nostril. Common side effects of Nasonex include headaches, viral infections, sore throat, and nose bleeds. Take this medication only as directed. For more information, download the RxWixi mobile app.

What Causes Nosebleed? Overview Nosebleeds are common. They may be scary, but they rarely indicate a serious medical problem. The nose contains many blood vessels, which are located close to the surface in the front and back of the nose. They’re very fragile and bleed easily. Nosebleeds are common in adults and children between the ages of 3 and 10. There are two kinds of nosebleeds. An anterior nosebleed occurs when the blood vessels in the front of the nose break and bleed. A posterior nosebleed occurs in the back or the deepest part of the nose. In this case, blood flows down the back of the throat. Posterior nosebleeds can be dangerous. Causes of nosebleeds There are many causes of nosebleeds. A sudden or infrequent nosebleed is rarely serious. If you have frequent nosebleeds, you could have a more serious problem. Dry air is the most common cause of nosebleeds. Living in a dry climate and using a central heating system can dry out the nasal membranes, which are tissues inside the nose. This dryness causes crusting inside the nose. Crusting may itch or become irritated. If your nose is scratched or picked, it can bleed. Taking antihistamines and decongestants for allergies, colds, or sinus problems can also dry out the nasal membranes and cause nosebleeds. Frequent nose blowing is another cause of nosebleeds. Other common causes of nosebleeds include: foreign object stuck in the nose chemical irritants allergic reaction injury to the nose repeated sneezing picking the nose cold air upper respiratory infection large doses of aspirin Other causes of nosebleeds include: high blood pressure bleeding disorders blood clotting disorders cancer Most nosebleeds don’t require medical attention. However, you should seek medical attention if your nosebleed lasts longer than 20 minutes, or if it occurs after an injury. This may be a sign of a posterior nosebleed, which is more serious. Injuries that might cause a nosebleed include a fall, a car accident, or a punch in the face. Nosebleeds that occur after an injury may indicate a broken nose, skull fracture, or internal bleeding. Diagnosing a nosebleed If you seek medical attention for a nosebleed, your doctor will conduct a physical examination to determine a cause. They’ll check your nose for signs of a foreign object. They’ll also ask questions about your medical history and current medications. Tell your doctor about any other symptoms you’ve and any recent injuries. There’s no single test to determine the cause of a nosebleed. However, your doctor might use diagnostic tests to find the cause. These tests include: complete blood count (CBC), which is a blood test to check for blood disorders partial thromboplastin time (PTT), which is a blood test that checks how long it takes for your blood to clot nasal endoscopy CT scan of the nose X-ray of the face and nose How to treat a nosebleed Treatment for nosebleeds will vary depending on the type and cause of the nosebleed. Read on to find out about treatments for different nosebleeds. Anterior nosebleed If you have an anterior nosebleed, you bleed from the front of your nose, usually a nostril. You can try to treat an anterior nosebleed at home. While sitting up, squeeze the soft part of your nose. Make sure that your nostrils are fully closed. Keep your nostrils closed for 10 minutes, lean forward slightly, and breathe through your mouth. Don’t lie down when trying to stop a nosebleed. Lying down can result in swallowing blood and can irritate your stomach. Release your nostrils after 10 minutes and check to see if the bleeding has stopped. Repeat these steps if bleeding continues. You can also apply a cold compress over the bridge of your nose or use a nasal spray decongestant to close off the small blood vessels. See your doctor immediately if you’re unable to stop a nosebleed on your own. You might have a posterior nosebleed that requires more invasive treatment. Posterior nosebleed If you have a posterior nosebleed, you bleed from the back of your nose. The blood also tends to flow from the back of your nose down your throat. Posterior nosebleeds are less common and often more serious than anterior nosebleeds. Posterior nosebleeds shouldn’t be treated at home. Contact your doctor immediately or go to the emergency room (ER) if you think you have a posterior nosebleed. Nosebleeds caused by foreign objects If a foreign object is the cause, your doctor can remove the object. Cauterization A medical technique called cauterization can also stop persistent or frequent nosebleeds. This involves your doctor burning the blood vessels in your nose with either a heating device or silver nitrate, a compound used to remove tissue. Your doctor may pack your nose with cotton, gauze, or foam. They may also use a balloon catheter to apply pressure to your blood vessels and stop the bleeding.

6 Symptoms of Head and Neck Cancer: 1. Sore throat A sore throat is rarely worth worrying about — after all, it can be caused by a range of fairly harmless afflictions, from over-exerting the voice muscles to seasonal allergies to the common cold. Generally speaking, a sore throat is either very temporary or just the first sign that a head cold is setting in. However, a sore throat could indicate that an individual is developing throat cancer. While it can be difficult to distinguish between a common cold and throat cancer, in the latter case the pain will not go away after a few days or even weeks. In essence, if you develop a painful sore throat without any of the other symptoms of a head cold, and the sore throat doesn’t go away after a week or so, then it may be time to speak to a doctor about a thorough examination. 2. Mouth pain Like many of the other symptoms on this list, mouth pain doesn’t necessarily mean there’s anything to worry about. After all, it can be caused by many things, from burning your tongue on hot food to using a new toothbrush. Of course, mouth pain can also be the result of poor oral hygiene, such as failing to brush, floss or rinse on a regular basis. But this pain should subside in time, particularly if the afflicted individual is taking care with their oral hygiene. And there are other indicators that something more serious is up, including red and white patches on the gums, tongue, or mouth lining. Bleeding gums and pain in the jaw could also be indicators that the mouth pain one is feeling is more serious and could be linked to head and neck cancer. If you experience a few of these symptoms, or your mouth pain doesn’t subside after a few days, it would be wise to speak with your doctor and/or dentist about the issue. 3. Difficulty talking Anyone with a serious throat infection or bad head cold will tell you that these relatively harmless afflictions can make it rather difficult to speak. Colds and infections of the throat can make it difficult. In most cases this pain will subside after a few days or a week or two. If the pain lasts, however, it could be a sign that there is a more serious problem affecting the throat, including the pharynx. Persistent pain in the throat making it difficult to speak should be considered serious and should be followed by a thorough examination by a physician to rule out throat cancer. 4. Trouble swallowing There are a few health conditions that can make it difficult to swallow, including moderately serious issues like strep throat. But even the common cold can present an individual with a sore throat that makes it difficult to swallow. However, if this pain persists — and there are none of the other symptoms that accompany the typical head cold, such as a cough and stuffy nose — then it’s a good idea to visit a doctor to determine the cause of the issue. It could simply be irritated as a result of an infection or seasonal allergies, but it may also be linked to throat cancer. If it’s the latter, it’s better to catch the problem early, thereby giving medical specialists more time to fight the disease. 5. Sinus pain Sinus pain is most often associated with seasonal allergies or the common cold. However, it can also be the result of structural issues affecting the nose and sinuses; in other words, if there are blockages in the nose, it could lead to plugged sinuses that don’t clear and lead to significant sinus pain and headaches. Additionally, dryness can cause the nose to feel stuffy and may even result in nose bleeds. The onset of sinus pain should be met with a visit to a physician who can help you determine if the problem is related to allergies, blockages, general dryness, or something more serious, such as nose cancer. If the problem does not respond to medications, such as antibiotics, then there’s an increased chance that it is a more serious issue. 6. Pain or numbness caused by inflammation The emergence of cancer in the head and neck area can lead to significant inflammation. If there’s a serious problem developing, an individual may notice swelling in their jaw or in the area just below their chin. The feeling of swelling — which is often accompanied by pain — in this part of the head could be the result of cancer emerging in the salivary glands. Inflammation resulting from the development of head and neck cancer can also lead to feelings of numbness or paralysis in the face muscles; this can also be accompanied by pain. If this pain lasts for more than a few days, it’s crucial the individual contact their physician right away to carry out an examination of the head and neck area.

5 Fastest Ways to Stop Nose Bleed. Nosebleeds can range from mild to severe that last from a few seconds to about 10-15 minutes. In case of severe nosebleeds people tend to get dizzy, weak and a few of them faint as well. There are several factors that cause #nosebleeds. The other kind of nose bleed, which is the posterior nosebleed occurs when the bleeding is from the higher part of the nose. Extreme dryness of the nasal membranes is one of the major factors that leads to nosebleeds.
