In this 3rd grade lesson, we focus on the connection between multiplication and division, fact families, and using multiplication tables to solve basic division problems. There is actually no need to memorize "division tables" separately from the multiplication tables, because you can always think of multiplication when solving simple division problems. For example, to solve 42 / 6, think how many times 6 makes 42 (in your six times table). Check out also this downloadable worktext for 3rd grade math that deals with basic division concept, word problems, and related concepts: http://www.mathmammoth.com/division_1.php

Using synchronised audio and animation which harnesses both audio and visual learning styles simultaneously. CTC math lessons can be studied at home or at school and even on some modern mobile phones. Obviously no one can force a young person to study math, but what we have done here is to provide materials that are interesting and stimulating in themselves, and which will encourage the student, once started, to continue studying. Completing the Interactive Questions or Worksheet Following each math tutorial there are interactive questions or an optional printable worksheet which tests the understanding of key concepts. Answers are entered into CTC Math automated marking system which then stores the results in each individual student's ongoing progress report. This brings in the third learning style - Kinaesthetic, which is the process of actually doing the math yourself. One Page Summaries A printable one page summary of each tutorial provides the student with concise and complete notes from the math tutorial. Ideal as a reminder for homework, revision and review. View Worked Solutions After answers have been submitted, printable fully worked solutions become available showing every step which should be taken to reach the correct answer, just as it should be done in a math exam. Marking and Reports Ongoing progress reports are built for each individual. This helps parents and students in identifying weaker areas requiring further study. Every math lesson a student attempts is logged and the results stored along with statistical information detailing when they passed, what they scored and how much time and effort they put in to pass that lesson. Parents can instantly see the areas where their children may need additional help.

Teaching young minds about math is a sometimes difficult task. The old fashion teaching methods are no longer effective or acceptable. To teach the youngster math they need interaction and exciting elementary math lesson plans. When they are involved in the program they will retain their lessons more effectively. Therefore the quest is how to get the kids involved and excited about learning. This presents the new teaching methods of student involvement and interaction. The teacher can do many things to get the kids involved. The fact of knowing the group of students and adjusting the elementary math lesson plans to meet the specific group is the hardest challenge of every teacher, but it can be done with dedication to the students learning. Teach the kids not only the right answers but also how they reached the correct solution. This technique is called math manipulatives and creates a higher learning experience for the kids. Making sense of math solutions will help the kids retain the mathematics and yearn to learn more about the different facets of math. Place a value on the mathematical practices in addition subtraction multiplication division and fractions. Make the numbers make sense and keep the kids thirsting for more knowledge. When the math concepts are thoroughly understood by the student they will excel. Hands-on tools for teaching math are very important. To understand anything in life most people need to grasp the concepts physically. Reading is not an application that will improve the understanding. Think back to something you read recently and then try to recall what information was in the article or book. It is impossible for most people to retain read material. However when you physically touch the material your brain stores the information far easier and longer. To get the interactive materials that will improve the learning of your students use websites that have the learning materials such as eBay, for the interesting and enthralling plans to reach out to the students on a higher level they will enjoy and look forward to using for their math lessons.

The area model is how he thought about the number of plants he got. First, he multiplied ten by ten and wrote one hundred with his pad and pen. Then he multiplied ten by five; there were fifty more plants coming alive. Then ten times four equals forty, and just the bottom corner was empty. So, he multiplied five by four and ended up with twenty more. CHORUS Split up the place values in multiplication. Multiply the tens to get the foundation. Then the other place values get multiplied. Add the partial products up, and check your work twice. VERSE THREE Then the farmer planted black beans in twenty-two rows of fifteen. To find out how many plants he had, he drew the area model on his sketch pad. He did twenty times ten and wrote two hundred down; then ten times two, and twenty’s what he found. Twenty times five was one hundred, and then, five times two equaled ten. He added two hundred, one hundred, twenty, and ten; the sum was three [hundred] thirty; he checked it again. So, there were three hundred thirty black beans in twenty-two rows of fifteen. __________________________________________ ABOUT US: http://www.NUMBEROCK.com is a provider of educational videos for kids which was founded by an innovative 5th Grade teacher who envisioned a new kind of classroom where students got energized for math class. Parents of his students even noticed their children singing mathematics songs around the dinner table well beyond school hours. Seeing his students so enthusiastic when it was time for math was welcome, to say the least! But the epiphanous moment was when students were singing math songs all-day long like they were in the American Top 40! We dare to believe that these math songs + videos can actually identify with elementary school children's increasingly finicky perception of what is cool and trendy. While each song is diverse in composition, most fit directly into the modern musical genres that excite young kids: genres such as Rap, R&B, Pop, Hip-Hop and even Reggae! Our main goal is to make teaching and learning math more fun and more interactive. Geometry Teachers Never Spend Time Trying to Find Materials for Your Lessons Again! Join Our Geometry Teacher Community Today! http://geometrycoach.com/Geometry-Lesson-Plans/?pa=MOOMOOMATH In this video I will explain how to multiply and divide positive and negative integers Transcript Welcome to MooMooMath where we upload a new Math video everyday In this video I would like to talk about multiplication and division of integers. Step 1 when multiplying integers is to multiply and divide the numbers and ignore the signs Step 2 Ask.. are the signs in the original problem the same? Both positive or negative? Yes the answer is positive No the answer is negative Let's work some multiplication and division of intergers problems. In this video I would like to talk about multiplying and dividing integers. Sometimes when you are multiplying a negative and negative number, or a positive and negative number you may get confused on the sign of the answer. There are two rules to follow. I have both of these rules in the intro If the two signs are the same, negative and negative, and positive and positive then the answer is positive. If the sign is a positive and negative then the sign is negative Multiply the numbers and ignore the signs 5 times 2 = 10 and both numbers are negative the answer is positive 7 x -3 Multiply like I would normally. 7 x 3 = 21 and one sign is negative, the answer is negative -6 divided by -2 Divide normally 6/3 = 2 and both signs are negative the answer will be positive Let's work some more examples 12 divided by -6 equals 2 Because we have a positive and negative sign the answer is negative The last one is 8 x -4 8 times 4 = 32 We have one negative so it is negative Thanks for watching I hope this helps in multiplying positive and negative integers.
