Must Know: Why You Need to Stay Away From These Vitamins Multivitamin and mineral supplements became available in the 1940s, and Americans actively use them ever since. Nowadays, millions of people use supplements in order to strengthen their health and avoid nutrient deficiencies. Most people take a balanced combination of essential vitamins and minerals in the form of a multivitamin, such as Centrum vitamins. Multivitamins accounted for 40 percent of all supplement purchases, which is $5.7 billion out of the $37 billion in supplement sales in 2014 alone. Centrum vitamins, by Pfizer, are the best-selling multivitamins in the country. Their produces is the biggest pharmaceutical company worldwide, which deals mainly in manufactured chemicals. Yet, the company is also known due to the numerous legal battles, frauds, and controversy. It was recently threatened to be sued over false claims about Centrum vitamins in 2012 by the consumer watchdog group Center for Science in the Public Interest. Eventually, the company had to pull claims about breast and colon health. Moreover, it lacks regulation, specificity, and even standards. Namely, the multivitamins ask for no set standards or levels. Yet, it does what all big corporations regularly do: it pays large sums of money for advertising their chemically and synthetically enhanced supplements which can, in fact, do more harm than good. Apparently, even though these multivitamins are advertised to boost immunity and kick your metabolism they actually contain multiple additives which can be harmful or toxic to your body. Centrum vitamins contain at least 3 preservatives and several color additives, along with many toxic and even carcinogenic chemicals and additives. Here is a list of their dangerous ingredients: -Calcium Carbonate — This compound is found in rocks, shells, and even pearls. It is sometimes used to raise calcium levels in the body; but has been related to strokes and heart disease, especially in the elderly. Studies have also linked it to heart issues and myocardial infarction. -Polyethylene Glycol — It is often used in the manufacturing of coal-burning plants, rocket fuel, and over-the-counter laxatives. It might lead to kidney damage, hives and other allergic reactions, esophageal bleeding, tears, and autism. In children, it might cause encopresis, which is a continuous leakage of semi-formed feces. -Hydrogenated Oil — Hydrogenated oils quickly become toxic when processed under extreme heat, atmospheres of pressure and injections of metals. Their consumption clogs the arteries, leading to massive heart and arterial issues, and also results in producing cholesterol to bandage artery walls which have been affected. Due to the vascular issues, it affects the brain and causes Alzheimer’s and ADHD. -Food Dye Yellow 6 — This is a toxic food dye which is a carcinogen and might result in allergies, tumors on the kidneys and testes, and chromosomal damage. It might also cause ADHD, hyperactivity, and restlessness. -GMO Corn Starch — It has multiple adverse effects on the body and affects the detoxifying organs such as the liver and kidneys, but also damages the spleen, heart, and adrenal glands. Its another side effect is Hepatorenal Toxicity, which leads to kidney failure and is typically fatal. -Titanium Dioxide — It has been found to be potentially carcinogenic to humans. It’s included in various products as a whitening agent, like in ink, paper, paints, and even cosmetics and toothpaste. Even though it has been previously considered to be safe by the FDA, it has been recently found to cause lung cancer in rats. What is even more disturbing is that the Centrum vitamins for children are even more dangerous, as they include the following hazardous additives: -Cupric Oxide — This copper mineral is known to be dangerous in Europe. It causes kidney disease and childhood cirrhosis, and it is also dangerous to the environment. -Artificial Sweeteners (Aspartame) — As soon as it is ingested, this carcinogenic sweetener is converted to formaldehyde and methanol, and causes 40 adverse side effects, including birth defects, ADD, cancer, lupus, multiple sclerosis and more. -Zinc Oxide — In Europe, it is considered to be harmful, and leads to diarrhea, constipation, upset stomach and more. -Lactose (Milk Sugar) — Lactose makes up 2-8 % of the milk by weight. Specific enzymes in the stomach break it down, leading to lactose intolerance, and symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea, bloating, cramping, upset stomach, and nausea. Lightening (or removing dye) with Vitamin C and Shampoo

Please do not leave this product on your hair for more than an hour (actually, I'd go so far to say to not leave it on for more than 45 minutes). I've noticed over the few times that I've used this method to lighten my hair that it works best with removing dyed hair and will only lift your natural hair by maybe half a level. I've also noticed that after the 45 minute mark that the Vitamin C no longer lifts/lightens your hair color. Do understand that Vitamin C can make your hair feel straw-like if you leave it on for too long, as well as make you feel sick, and even burn your scalp. Always err on the side of caution!!! If your scalp is burning at all during this process, WASH IT OUT. Thank you, all, for your love and support. Vitamin C and Shampoo Recipe Ingredients: 50-60 pills of 1000mg Vitamin C, mashed into powder. 9ish Tablespoons of clear shampoo (I used Prell but it's probably best to use a shampoo without dyes in it) Mixing bowl A spray bottle, filled with water A plastic cap, or bag Instructions: Mix vitamin C and shampoo If you feel the mixture is too thick, add another tablespoon of shampoo. Apply to damp hair. If mixture isn't spreading easily and/or you've run out of mixture, spray more water onto hair and continue to lather in. Once hair is saturated with the mixture, cover with a plastic cap (or bag) and leave for 30-60 minutes. Rinse out, wash with shampoo, and deep condition as this will make your hair dry. When vitamins that are essential for production of melanin are missing from your diet, insufficient melanin synthesis will turn your hair gray. However, premature graying of hair associated with nutritional deficiency is reversible. Consumption of foods rich in these essential nutrients helps in restoring the normal melanin synthesis process of the hair. Therefore, if your hair is losing its natural color, before covering the grays with hair color, check whether you are suffering from any of the following vitamin deficiencies. 1. Folic Acid. Deficiency of folic acid or vitamin B9 is associated with premature graying of hair. Increasing intake of foods rich in folic acid seems to help in reversing premature graying of hair. To stop graying of hair at an early age, add folic acid rich foods to your diet such as leafy greens, broccoli, citrus fruits and tomatoes. As this water-soluble vitamin cannot be stored in the body, regular intake of foods that are rich in folic acid is necessary to avert deficiency of this important vitamin. 2. Vitamin B12. Loss of natural hair color is also associated with deficiency of vitamin B12. Your body cannot produce enough red blood cells when you are suffering from vitamin B12 deficiency, which leads to a condition known as pernicious anemia. Premature loss of hair color is one of the common symptoms of pernicious anemia, which can be reversed by increasing intake of vitamin B12 rich foods such as fish, red meat, liver, eggs and dairy. 3. Biotin. Biotin plays an important role in healthy hair growth. Therefore, deficiency of this B vitamin can cause loss of hair color at an early age. To fight premature graying of hair, consume foods rich in biotin such as chicken, red meat, egg and milk and dairy. 4. Vitamin B5. Vitamin B5, also known as pantothenic acid, is known to help in slowing down graying of hair. Deficiency of this B vitamin reduces melanin production. Hence, to maintain the normal melanin producing activities of the hair cells, add foods rich in pantothenic acid to your diet. Liver, sunflower seeds, broccoli, mushroom, corn, tomatoes and avocado are good sources of vitamin B5. 5. Vitamin E The antioxidant Activity of vitamin E is believed to help in slowing down graying of hair. It helps in inhibiting degeneration of the cells responsible for producing the hair color. To increase vitamin E intake, add wheat germ, corn, broccoli and green leafy vegetables to your diet.

Add the capsicum and sauté on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally. 4. Add the fresh tomato pulp, turmeric powder, chilli powder and garam masala, mix well and cook on a medium flame for another 3 to 4 minutes, while stirring occasionally. 5. Add the paneer and salt, mix gently and cook on a medium flame for 1 more minute. Serve immediately with roti or whole wheat paratha. Ingredients 2½ cups soaked and boiled kabuli chana (white chick peas) ½ cup chopped mint leaves (phudina) 2 tsp finely chopped green chillies ¼ cup finely chopped capsicum 1 cup grated carrot ½ cup grated cabbage ½ tsp grated garlic (lehsun) ½ tsp roasted cumin seeds (jeera) powder Salt to taste Other ingredients 3¼ tsp oil for greasing and cooking For serving Green chutney Method 1. Combine the kabuli chana, mint leaves and green chillies and blend in a mixer to a coarse mixture without using water. 2. Transfer the mixture to a bowl, add all the remaining ingredients and mix well. 3. Divide the mixture into 16 equal portions and shape them into round flat tikkis (approx. 2" diameter). 4. Grease a non-stick tava (griddle) with ¼ tsp of oil. 5.Cook the tikkis using 1½ tsp of oil till 8 tikkis turn golden brown in colour from both the sides. 6. Repeat step 5 to make one more batch of tikkis. Serve hot with green chutney. Handy tip: 1 cup of raw kabuli chana (white chick peas) gives 2½ cups soaked and boiled kabuli chana (white chick peas)

Easy how to Remove Hair Color Using Vitamin C

How to use vitamin C tablets to remove hair dye. Most professional hair dressers will tell you that bleaching your hair is the only way to remove color which will leave your hair fried and damaged. Fortunately, this isn’t the only option! There is a much more natural way to remove semi-permanent, permanent, and even henna dyes from your hair with little to no damage. It’s a simple little ingredient called Vitamin C, and most of us have a bottle of it in our medicine cabinet! 15-25 Vitamin C Tablets or 1/4-1/2 Cup of Ascorbic Acid Powder 1/4-1/2 Cup Shampoo (clarifying works best but any shampoo will do) 1 TBSP Conditioner (optional) Plastic Mixing Bowl Shower Cap Place the Vitamin C tablets in a ziploc bag and crush into a fine powder with a rolling pin. You can also use a spice grinder to get a super fine texture. (If using Ascorbic Acid powder, measure out 1/4-1/2 cup into a plastic bowl depending on your hair length.) Place the Vitamin C powder into your bowl. Add your shampoo of choice to the Vitamin C powder and mix well until you get a thick, creamy consistency, almost like a paste. If the mixture is too watery, add a little more Vitamin C. For very dry hair, add 1 tbsp of conditioner to the mixture. After mixing, apply the Vitamin C mask to dry hair making sure to saturate each and every strand. Massage the mixture into the hair. Place a shower cap over your hair and set a timer for at least 60 minutes. After an hour has passed, wash hair with hot water for a minimum of 5 minutes. This step is very important! Rinsing your hair thoroughly will ensure that the hair dye molecules will not reattach after the Vitamin C treatment. If you do not rinse your hair long enough, the dye may darken again. Condition and dry hair as usual. Hair may be a tad dry but will bounce back after a deep condition. Depending on how much dye was in your hair, you should notice a considerable difference in color after this treatment. If you have a lot of dye buildup, you may need to repeat this process a few more times. Be sure to give your hair a break between treatments, usually a few days.
