High Blood Pressure 231/119 Arthritis This caused problems doing normal things like washing my car, gardening, and even trying to get a good rest. This time last year, I couldnt bend down to zip up my boots. Diabetes when I was first diagnosed, my blood sugar was 28.5. Total Cholesterol 8.2 WHAT STEPS HAD YOU PREVIOUSLY TAKEN TO GET WELL? High Blood Pressure: I was put on Altace: 5 mg, then 10 mg. and then 15 mg. Although these medications helped somewhat, my numbers were still fluctuating. Changes to my diet helped very little. Arthritis I was put on Naprosyn, which made my stomach ache, so I was put on another medication to take 1 hour before the Naprosyn to coat my stomach. After one year of this, and not much relief, my medication was changed to Celebrex, which did not help either. In between doses, I would take Tylenol Arthritis pills, as well. Diabetes I was put on 500 mg. of Metformin, twice per day. Through the Lawson clinic, I was put on a very strict diet. I did well on this for some time, but I could not hold the numbers down. I then went to 1000 mg of Metformin, twice per day. Soon, Avandia was added to my regimen at 2 mgs, twice per day, then increased to 4 mgs, twice per day. All this medication failed to keep my blood sugar numbers down, so my doctor added Apo-Glyburide 5 mgs (twice per day), and suggested I would need insulin needles. I should note that through all this, I was following the diet I had been provided, and taking my prescribed medication, but my morning blood sugar numbers were still running at around 13. Cholesterol I had been prescribed Lipitor 40mg and Ezetrol 10mg. HOW DID YOU GET STARTED WITH CHIROPRACTIC? My son and his fiancé had spent sometime with us as they were having work done at their home and seen how I had no energy, get-up and go and was irritable. They asked me to attend a session with Dr. B.J. Hardick. I was very skeptical, even after the initial examination and some early treatments. However, my wife encouraged me to give it a go as nothing else was working for me. Dr. Hardick felt that the condition I had could be helped. The condition of my spine was in phase III. Dr. Hardick showed me where the subluxations were causing problems in my body and suggested that I start chiropractic care and follow a more specific diet based on the Maximized Living Nutrition Plans. I took his recommendation. HOW HAVE YOU IMPROVED AFTER 6 MONTHS? Weight Loss 34 lbs. Blood Pressure now running at 123/82. Prior to the care, even with medication I could not get this number below 4.0. (According to the Canadian Diabetic Group, someone with Diabetes should be no higher than 2.) I believe the adjustments and the diet are responsible in getting these numbers down. My doctor has stated that if these numbers remain like this when I have my next blood work done, he will either eliminate or reduce the amount of the drugs I am taking. The reviews of my x-rays after the 3rd and 6th months of care have shown major improvements in my spine. He was quickly prescribed Metformin, also known as Glucophage. I told him immediately NOT to take this drug and I’ll tell you why in a minute … However, he refused to listen to me and said “my doctor told me I have to take this, probably the rest of my life, or else I’ll have to start taking insulin shots and I hate needles”. Of course, this is what doctors do - prescribe drugs. They are legal drug pushers, no different than the street drug dealer pushing narcotics. His doctor never asked what he ate, what my uncle should eat… No talk about exercise, supplements, stress management or anything else that will naturally improve his blood sugar, which would be the only REAL long-term solution … and NOT a drug that’s loaded with negative side-effects. And trust me, I’m not against drugs - I just hate it when they are the FIRST and usually the ONLY solution a doctor will give you. Now, in regards to Metformin - this is a drug that I personally took in around 1992 to improve my blood sugar and insulin sensitivity - so I can gain more muscle and lose fat. In fact, many of my clients and professional athletes used this drug for the same reasons. Additionally, Metformin is known to have anti-aging benefits as well… So for me, it was a double bonus. However, within days I felt the negative side-effects and so did my friends and clients. Immediately, I started to feel unwell -- stomach pain, nausea, loss of appetite, heartburn, headaches and so forth. I just felt slow and sluggish... But, I kept pushing and kept taking the drug, hoping the negative side-effects would dissipate over time. And some of them did… or, maybe I just tolerated them better. However, over time there were more serious side-effects. For me and a few of my friends and clients, was kidney problems - which is a known side-effects of the drug. Poor kidney function can also lead to elevated blood pressure, which it did in other people I knew and later, liver problems as well. Remember, even though your kidneys and liver have different roles, they DO work WITH each other. As one weakens, so will the other. Mind you, NONE of us took the recommended dosage for diabetics, we took half the dose. Just imagine how much worse it is for diabetics taking the full dosage?!!... Which in fact, is why most users of Metformin typically do not refill their prescriptions and rarely use the drug for more than a few months. YET, it’s one of the most prescribed drugs for diabetics, other than later prescribing insulin shots. Additional side-effects of Metformin are heart problems and lactic acidosis - which is a very serious problem and very common with Metformin. Which has caused many deaths with this drug. In fact, drinking alcohol or taking any drug that puts strain on your liver or kidneys, magnifies this side-effect. … So to make a long story short, we all gave up on this drug and I later discovered various herbs, vitamins and minerals that when combined together - had much better benefits, no side-effects and yes, still had the anti-aging benefits. You can get more detail about these natural alternatives to Metformin below this video, in the description area. However, don’t go there just yet… I’m not done with the story. So about a year later I was at a family wedding and I saw my uncle again and ask him how he was doing. He said “I’m doing okay, I’m eating less sugars and I’ve improved my diet and walking daily. It is inexpensive, can be used with many other diabetic drugs in combination, it can cause weight loss and has been shown to decrease cardiovascular risk and even pancreatic cancer. It can be used safely in non-diabetics, and pre-diabetics. It can cause GI side effects, so when I start someone on it, I usually give them 1000mg pills, and the goal is to take 1000mg twice a day. Start with 1/2 pill once a day at dinner, in one week, Take 1/2 pill twice a day with food, in another week, take 1/2 pill in the morning and one at dinner, Finally advance to 1 pill twice a day. Some people cannot tolerate the full dose, and have to take somewhat less of a dose. Switching to the ER version can be helpful. If you eat lots of carbs, you will have more side effects. Limiting carbs, helps to tolerate it better AND can help you to lose more weight.

The answer is yes, because in both situations your sugar is high and your insulin will also be high. This is because in type 1, you're taking insulin and fluctuating be a higher high sugar state and a low blood sugar state and taking some carb to raise it. The big point is rarely does one focus on the triggers to blood sugars in the first place. This is a deeper root cause and if you could take the least amount of insulin to control blood sugars then you will receive the least amount of side effects. High insulin is a bit more dangerous than high sugars, but both are equally bad for your eyes (retina), your kidneys, your heart and blood vessels and your nerves and brain. So the top two things you need to do is reduce your carbs and do intermittent fasting. Both of these actions will greatly take the stress of the cells of the pancreas and liver and allow you to take less insulin. Get with your doctor as you manage your medications on this. Someone had a question, can I do Keto and Intermittent Fasting if I am diabetic, on Metformin and Insulin at the same time. I don’t know if this person is type 1 or type 2, chances are here type 2 going into type 1 eventually. But here’s the difference, type 1 is the problem of pancreas not producing insulin. Type 2 is more of a problem with the receptor and not receiving insulin and the feedback goes back and causes the pancreas to produce more insulin to compensate. It is a compensatory type of thing and you have high amounts of insulin. But both of these situations type 1 and type 2 have high blood sugars. Metformin makes the receptor more receptive to insulin and the insulin gives you what the pancreas is not providing in the body. But the problems is, if you are type 1, they are giving you insulin, your insulin is going to be high now because you are going to be taking insulin to control this out of control blood sugar. So in both of this conditions you have high sugar and high insulin at the same time. Now it’s more dangerous to have high insulin than it is to have high sugar, there is more problems. Sustain high levels of insulin destroys the retina, kidney, arteries and the brain. Of course high sugars will do it too but high insulin creates even more destruction. The goal is to take the least amount of insulin possible. If you are type 1 and maybe your cells are completely destroyed of any chance of recovery but we still want you to take the least amount of insulin possible so it would make sense to avoid the triggers of insulin. Unfortunately, the American Diabetes Association does not recommend what i'm gonna recommend but the needs to be more focus on the diet and the frequency of eating because reducing your carbohydrates and doing the intermittent fasting are the two things they are gonna allow the person to take the least amount of insulin. And it's also gonna help improve insulin resistance which will take the stress off the liver and the cells. DR. It’s blood pressure drugs.3 And if you're curious, the #2 worse drugs are antidepressants and other psychiatric medications… which I’ll get into in a future video. There are over 35 different hypertension drugs, which all cause some form erectile or libido problems.6 In fact, it’s estimated that over 70% of men who take blood pressure medications, decide to get off of them because of these negative side-effects.1,2 Also, these drugs cause “sexual” problems in women as well. Unfortunately, you can’t just get off your blood pressure medication and say “oh, who cares” because high blood pressure is known to cause heart disease, a heart attack or stroke. The sad part is that having high blood pressure ALSO causes erectile problems and lowered libido because of poor blood flow and stress on your veins, arteries and blood vessels. It has many beneficial properties but can also have some very serious side effects and can be very dangerous if combined with some types of medications. If you have any of these conditions, do not use apple cider vinegar to avoid complications. THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF THE APPLE CIDER VINEGAR One of the most common uses of apple cider vinegar is weight loss. Stroke reduces the appetite because it empties the stomach more gradually and makes you feel sated for longer without feeling the need to eat. According to a Chinese study, consumption of ACV reduces the risk of esophageal cancer by 37%. Apple cider vinegar can be used for the treatment of yeast infections and athlete's foot because it has antibacterial and antifungal properties. It is related to some very serious conditions. Because of its acetic acid, stroke reduces bad cholesterol levels, blood pressure and reduces cancer risks. In addition, it has anti-glycemic properties and avoids the digestion of starches that cause blood sugar levels to rise, so it may be useful for diabetics. DO NOT USE THE SIDRA VINEGAR OF APPLES IF YOU USE ANY OF THESE MEDICINES! Although apple cider vinegar has wide use for various medical problems, you should know the side effects if combined with some medications, as they can be very serious. When apple cider vinegar interacts with some medications it lowers potassium levels in the body. Here is the list of medications that should not be combined with apple cider vinegar. Digoxin or Lanoxin This medicine is used to treat heart disease. Apple cider vinegar obstructs the absorption of potassium in the body, so it increases the risk of manifestation of side effects of this medication, which include vomiting, vision problems, mood swings, diarrhea and dizziness. Diuretics: Diuril, Lasix, Microzide and Thalitone These medications are used to treat swelling and stimulate the body to remove accumulated fluid. Potassium maintains the balance of water in the body and, as apple cider vinegar reduces potassium levels, can cause dehydration. Insulin Insulin is a medicine used by diabetics to balance blood sugar levels in the body. According to some studies, apple cider vinegar may help control blood sugar levels, but should never be taken in combination with insulin because the combination of these can greatly reduce potassium and sugar levels in the blood. blood. Consumption of apple cider vinegar should be taken with caution. Prolonged use of apple cider vinegar can cause low levels of potassium in the body, which can lead to other health problems. Postmenopausal women Postmenopausal women are already at risk for reduced bone density and taking large amounts of apple cider vinegar can cause osteoporosis because it reduces potassium levels in the body.

WIth that said, let’s get right to the point and discuss today’s topic - the #1 food you should be eating with ALL of your meals, to help reduce your blood sugar, prevent and even reverse diabetes. So let’s get started: What you need to do is eat some FAT with all of your meals. However, the problem here is that people are either Eating NO fats, because they’ve been misled and brainwashed thinking it’s bad for them and it’ll make them fat. They eat the WRONG types of fats and thus, it’s making things worse and is actually the CAUSE for getting them fat and making them diabetic. So let’s discuss both of these quickly. Problem 1 - Eating NO Fats If you don’t have some fat with your meals, the carbohydrates you eat will quickly shoot up your blood sugar and thus, your insulin levels. This is NOT what you want because over time, your insulin receptors become “insensitive” and thus, your body needs to produce even MORE insulin to get the same “blood sugar lowering” effects and you eventually become diabetic. The benefit is that if you eat some healthy fats with all of your meals, you will quickly BLUNT the blood sugar spikes. This is because fat slows digestion. Thus, you’ll lower the glycemic index and load of the meal. The end result is lower blood sugar after your meals better energy levels and healthier insulin receptors Problem 2 - Eating The WRONG Fats The second problem is those who do eat fats with their meals, they eat the WRONG types of fats. So in the movie “Forks over Knives”, Dr. Greger1 states that “fat makes you insulin resistant”. This is based on studies performed in the 1930s where a group of participants ate a “fat-rich diet… in vegetable oils, butter, mayonnaise, and cream.” I’m not going to get into all the details. However, I mention this because these are NOT healthy fats. These are crappy fats. These are manmade fats. They’re fake. Not natural. These fats are treated, heated, hydrogenated and are trans-fats. YES, these fats are bad for you and will cause diabetes, in addition to dozens of other diseases and health problems. What you want to eat is some healthy fats: Raw nuts and seeds (hemp, flax, etc.) Avocados Coconut oil Extra virgin Macadamia nut and Olive oil Omega and fish oils Don’t heat your oils because it changes the structure of the molecule. And if you’re going to cook, stick with Coconut oil and macadamia nut oil. Also, fats create and improve your hormones, which is the KEY to a healthier body. By the way, you don’t need much fat with your meals. Certain drugs can contribute to excess hair growth, changed in the hair color, or texture of hair loss. Drugs cause hair loss by interfering with the normal cycle of scalp hair growth. During the anagen phase, which lasts for about 2 to 6 years the hair grows to the telogen phase, which lasts about 3 months, the hair rests. At the end of every telogen phase, the hair falls down and there is replacement of new hair. Medications can lead to 2 types of hair loss. One is called as telogen effluvium and second is called as Anagen effluvium. Telogen effluvium is the most common form of drug induced hair loss. It usually appears within 2 to 4 months after taking the drug. This condition causes the hair follicles to go onto their resting phase, that is telogen and follow too early. People with the telogen effluvium usefully shed between 100 to 150 hairs per day. Aanagen effluvium is the type of hair loss that occurs in the anagen phase of the hair cycle when the hairs are actively growing. It permits the matrix cells which produces new hair from dividing normally. That type of hair loss occurs within the first two days to weeks after taking the medication. It is most common in people who are taking chemotherapy drugs for cancer and is often severe in most of the people who loose most of all of their hair on the head as well as their eye brows, eyelashes and other body hair. The severity of the drug induced hair loss depends on the severity of the drug and the dose as well as the sensitivity to the drug. What are the type of drugs causing this hair loss? Think about it - your meds are supposed to lower blood sugars and when you fix the true problem and things normalize and you still are taking this sugar lowering drug - it can push it below normal. The thing to do is get with your doctor and have them adjust your meds because chances are you don’t need as much. If you are off the medication and your blood glucose (sugar) levels are too low (60s) BUT you feel fine, you may in fact be fine because when you do ketogenic diet and IF your body is no longer running on glucose, it's running on ketones which do not involve so much glucose. However, if you feel weird if your sugars are low, it could be adrenals (cortisol or adrenaline). In this case, go at this more gradual and not too fast so your body can really adapt over time. Hey guys, I recently have a question from someone who was a diabetic, they have a high blood sugars, and they did ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting and then ended up having low blood sugars, hypoglycemia. They are a bit concerned with this complication and side effect from doing ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting. No.1, the purpose of the medication that you are taking as a diabetic is to lower the blood sugars. If you are still taking the medications and you are doing ketogenic diet and IF you could end up with excessively low blood sugars because you don’t even need the medications, or you don’t need as much. Ketogenic diet and Intermittent Fasting decrease the need for diabetic medication, get with your doctor, adjust the dosage, reduce it or maybe you don’t need it at all. If your blood sugars is 100 or less, you don’t need the medication. Let’s say for example you are off with the medication and it is still too low but you feel fine, that is not a problem because when you do ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting you will actually have the new normal because you are not running your body on sugar anymore so your body will adapt and you can get by with a lot less 80, 70 or even 60 and feel fine because your body is not running in sugar anymore. But if you feel bad, if you feel jittery and if you feel your blood sugars are a problem, it can also be symptoms of the adrenal gland that is trying to compensate in bringing your sugars up but it can’t and then you’ll notice a symptoms of more of the spike of either cortisol or adrenaline and that could be why you are feeling that. If that’s the case then just basically go about it a little bit more gradual. Instead of going one-meal-a-day, do two meals, instead of doing 2 meals, do 3 meals no snacks adding a lot of greens, b vitamins, potassium supplements so you can actually correct this situation a lot better so you can go longer without meals. All of the participants in the study were middle-aged and overweight, but none of them were considered to be “obese.” The researchers from the study noted that the group that used the ginger was in worse shape than the placebo group before the study began and they had the most change, which eliminates the idea that the change could have been “random” or because of external factors. The reason for ginger’s effect on blood sugar isn’t known. There are several guesses, but none has been proven. One idea is that ginger contains hepatic phosphorylase, which is an enzyme that breaks down glycogen, which contains glucose cells.
