I lost 25 lbs in 4 weeks and was in full panic or near panic for 8 weeks straight mixed with the darkest most painful depression I cold have ever imagined. I immediately could not work and had to move in with my parents who, along with many siblings and friends, had to watch me 24/7 as I was a danger to myself. Eventually I was hospitalized in the Psych Ward for a week. Getting through each day seemed truly unbearable and I knew I would surely die. I have been put on many many different SSRI's SNRI's Tricyclics, Mood stabilizers, anti psychotics, holistic meds, acupuncture and even a form of shock therapy called RTMS. I barely saw any improvement in my condition for a full year. It was decided I had treatment resistant depression and I spent nearly every moment in tears. Weeks after starting my newest round of medications (Seroquel & Nortryptaline) as a last ditch effort, I had my blood drawn for possible hormone imbalances and my Testosterone levels came back 200 ng/Dl and 150 ng/Dl. The average 25 year old male has 750 ng/Dl. With this discovery I for the first time had any type of possible explanation as to why I was not getting better and why I might be so so sick. The symptoms of such Low T are very similar to those of major depression. I started Testosterone replacement therapy soon after and have been checking in with the world and documenting my experience with treatment as well as giving my insight and perspective on various topics of mental health. I am blessed to say that I have slowly, over the last 5 years, been improving and becoming more stable which I never thought to be possible. My low T manifested itself in the form of Major depression, anxiety, and depersonalization/ derealization for over a year. Treating my low testosterone has been 1 HUGE part of the puzzle but I have had to continue to work hard to hold on to my mental stability with many set backs. Gaining some mental stability back is nothing short of a miracle as I was near death for what felt like forever. I do not consider myself to be totally healed yet but I am closer now then ever before and aim to use what I have been through to help or at least offer support to others in need I was able to successfully come off my Seroquel and Pamelor. I work out all the time as a part of my mental health recovery!!! Weight training and all kinds of cardio rule much of my free time and I also share this on my channel.

Yes, it sucks to think about that. DON'T GIVE UP HOPE - more research will be done, there are other options you haven't tried yet, you will feel present again one day - but just in case that day doesn't come/it takes a while, you might as well enjoy life as best as you can whilst feeling spaced out! Last year I could barely talk to people I was that spaced out! I didn't want to leave my flat for fear my existence would be snuffed out it felt so fragile. But now I wake up and although I still am living in this weird dreamlike world, I can function and make an impression on the world, despite barely feeling like I'm in it. It will be okay! I Promise! Don't give up hope! Practise loving what you can experience! xxxx

Degradation: This is when someone puts you down all the time and /or makes jokes at your expense. This can make us second guess our own feelings and experience. 2. Controlling or dominating: Do you have to plan your whole day around what they think is okay? Do they control your money or time? Many people will struggle to think on their own if this has been going on for a long time. 3. Accusing or blaming: Is nothing ever their fault? Do they blame any issues they have on everyone else in their life? Are they super sensitive to any personal criticism? 4. Neglect: Parents may give their children the silent treatment or stone wall them when they have done something they see as wrong. They may not meet any of our basic needs as a punishment for wrongdoing. 5. Enmeshment or codependence: This is when someone sees you as an extension of themselves. They will overstep boundaries and pull you into their situation or tell you inappropriate things about their life. They struggle to see any differentiation between themselves and another person. Remember -- emotional abuse is never your fault. In fact, your partner may just be trying to control or manipulate you into staying in the relationship. Yeah, neither does anyone else. We are perpetual thinkers. It’s a non-stop habit! You generate about 70.000 thoughts per day. What are these thoughts all about? Are they helping you live the life you want to live?Or are they making you feel less about yourself and others? Today we find out how you can stop overthinking – and finally get your mind on your side. FIRST. It begins with awareness, you must actually become aware of what is going on inside your head. And that sounds simple enough, but many of us never even realise that there’s some negative stuff happening up there, and instead we choose to act like everything is Ok. Are you overthinking, are you think negatively? WELL ADMIT IT. Because otherwise you won’t change a thing… But when you actually make it clear to yourself that you don’t like what’s going on, and you begin to be aware of it, now you can start to make a real change. You can keep a thought journal, writing down your thoughts as they come up, at least the more noticeable ones. Even if they’re negative, it’ll help you to start to get an overview of what’s happening in your mind, and after this it’ll be much easier to make the changes you want to make, because you’ll know what’s going on. SECOND. Use meditation. Yes, USE IT. Not ‘meditate because it’s good for you and you should’ – meditate because it’ll actually help you get what you want. When you train your mind with a simple technique like focusing on your breathing for 10 mins per day, and pulling it back every time it gets distracted, you gain power over it. Understand that if you do not train your mind, it is guaranteed to run wild on you, like a crazy chimp it’ll mess up your state of mind and in the end even your life. So control it. Use meditation, because it works. Do not be discouraged if you cannot stay focused in the beginning, simply stay disciplined and continue to practice. This is one of the very best and most effective ways to beat overthinking, and it will absolutely work for you. Another way that you can train your mind quickly is by really focusing on the daily tasks that you are doing, being fully present and aware as you are doing them, and not get caught up by the noise in your head. When you’re walking outside, breathe the air and pay attention to your environment. Don’t let yourself walk around unconsciously and stuck in your own head. Even if you’re doing something as simple as watching a video, actually watch the video, and tune out the noise going on upstairs in the mind. We get so used to our daily activities after a while that you may notice you’re thinking constantly, even if you used to do it with some intense presence and focus in the past. This effect really kicks in once we’ve been doing something for a few years. THIRD. Separate yourself from your thoughts. This goes hand in hand with training your mind. The only time our thoughts can do us real harm is when we identify with them, when we begin to think that we are our thoughts. That voice in your head is exactly that, a voice. You can control it, you can shape it, and when you begin to understand this you gain massive power over it. You can use your thinking to help you be productive, but if you let it run on autopilot it is likely that your life won’t turn out to be the way you wanted. So it’s important to always steer your thoughts in the right direction. One technique that has served me extremely well over the years is that anytime I became aware of a negative thought, I would redirect it by saying “how can I change this into something that helps me?” This one simple change done on a daily basis has led me to place of close to no negative thoughts, and I came from a place of depression and anxiety. Remember that overthinking, especially if it’s negative, is actually a bad habit, so by implementing these three keys that we’ve just gone over, you’ll be able to become aware of your thoughts, begin to control them and also separate yourself from the non-stop stream that goes through your head. These questions are simple 'YES' or 'NO' questions. The questions are as followed 1) Do you have little pleasure or interest in doing things? 2) Do you feel hopeless or down? 3) Do you have trouble sleeping, either sleeping too much or not at all? 4) Do you feel tired or have little energy? 5) Do you overeat or have a poor appetite? 6) Do you feel like a failure or you've let people down? 7) Do you have trouble concentrating? 8) Do you have any harmful thoughts towards yourself? Now, Let's begin with the scoring process. If you have said 'YES' to 2 or fewer questions then it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY you are suffering from depression. If you have said 'YES' on 2-4 questions then it is LIKELY you have MILD depression. You have nothing to worry about if you have mild depression and it is something you can easily snap out of with the right help and support. I will be going over in my next few videos how to overcome MILD depression. If you said 'YES' 5 or more times then it is HIGHLY LIKELY you are extremely depressed. Highly intelligent people might seem to have it better in life, but these 10 struggles prove that isn’t always the case! It’s easy to assume that having a high IQ would come with several privileges. For example, you wouldn't have to study as hard for tests. You'd read about complicated concepts and be able to grasp them immediately. You'd be able to take on challenging but exciting jobs with ease. In fact, all that may be true! But, there are difficulties and challenges that only highly intelligent people will experience. Besides these struggles, there are several personality traits of highly intelligent people that set them apart from the rest. Many of these traits have to do with their intense feelings and emotions. Others, with their distinctive socially awkward interactions. These traits of intelligent people often make them misunderstood and underestimated. By their families, peers, society, and usually even by themselves. As such, most of their gifts are actually underutilized. They rarely end up fulfilling their full creative potential. Due to these reasons, these people often end up feeling lonely and isolated through life. Intelligence is defined as the ability to acquire and apply knowledge. A definition that resonates quite close to that of wisdom. Nonetheless, there is still a considerable difference between intelligence and wisdom. Intelligence has an aspect of “learning”. Where an individual expresses some form of superiority to others. Either in their capacity for understanding, creativity, logic, or self-awareness. Even problem solving, among other qualities. When someone refers to you as being intelligent, they imply that you are special in terms of brain function and general conduct. Some of the challenges and traits of intelligent people are not so pleasant. The research in this video simply outlines some of the most common struggles that only highly intelligent people have. Parents always try to do the best for their kids to make them happy and healthy. However, there are some things that parents do every day that can pretty serious psychological damage not only to their kids but to themselves as well. Avoid these everyday habits that seem normal but in fact are very dangerous to give your kid the best upbringing and be a perfect parent. A study at the University of Mary Washington has shown that this constant rush often has negative outcomes for mental health, including anxiety and depression. So delegate what errands you can to someone else or postpone them till the weekend when you can leave the kids with their grandparents or a baby-sitter. Children often refuse to eat what’s been given to them when they see their parents hurriedly eating unhealthy snacks instead of a proper meal. Find a good activity for your kids during your phone conversations, whether it be a box of crayons, some puzzles, or a book. Warn them before you get on the phone that you’ll be unavailable for a certain amount of time and stick to your word. Instead of screaming at your kid over something as petty as a lost or broken toy, help them find or fix it. If they’re struggling in school, sit down and work together on improving those grades. Compassion works much better than comparison. So praise your kids’ strengths, tell them you’ll be there for them no matter what, and set realistic goals together. This is a call to live in reality, you own depression, depression does not own you. The Sapir Whorf Hypothesis, and General Semantics have illustrated how our words can become our prisons. The labels “Disorder” “Disease” “Depressed,” when internalized, can create a reality filled with suffering that extends beyond the biochemical. Many of you have asked me to do a video on this, and the DSM calls this issue Excoriation or skin picking disorder. The DSM states that we must have recurrent skin picking that results in skin lesions. We have tried to stop, but can't, and it is causing significant distress or impairment in our daily functioning. Lastly, it cannot be attributed to another illness or recreational drug use. This is usually associated with OCD and trichotillomania, as well as MDD. Most people who struggle with this spend at least an hour a day picking, thinking about picking, and resisting urges to pick. They will even miss work, school or social activities because of their skin picking. The picking usually results in scarring and tissue damage as well as infections (so please seek medical assistance if some wound isn't healing or looks infected). Stress increases our urges to pick and many report that when they do pick, their stress level go down a bit. So you can see how it is linked to OCD. What are our treatment options: Therapy and medication are recommended, and having both on board at the same time gives us the best results. Therapy options are: Habit reversal training: They help you identify the situations, stressors & other factors that trigger your skin picking. Then they have you use other tools instead of skin picking to ease your stress and occupy your hands. Stimulus Control Therapy: This is a type of therapy where they work to change your environment to help curb the skin picking urges. Like wearing gloves or covering up mirrors etc. Medication: None are FDA approved for treatment of excoriation, but many physicians use SSRI's or anticonvulsant medications to help stop the urges. Bipolar stigma in relationships is something we really need to pay attention to. Living with bipolar disorder makes us vulnerable to people using our mental illness as a platform for emotional abuse. In this week’s video, I’m sharing my personal experience with bipolar stigma in a relationship; how the person I was dating kept gaslighting me and made me question my own sanity. It made me feel extremely depressed, insecure and unlovable. So here are the 5 signs of bipolar stigma in a relationship and I go into more detail about those in the video. 1. According to a new report in Vanity Fair, Donald Trump's Chief of Staff, John Kelly, is reportedly fighting with Donald Trump a lot, according to the article. Now, Donald Trump fights with everybody in the White House. Recept reports say that he's not getting along with anyone, nobody likes him, nobody wants to talk to him, nobody wants to deal with his toddler-like antics. But John Kelly, General John Kelly, the fact that these two are fighting a lot tells you a lot about what's actually happening in the White House. See, John Kelly came on board in July when Reince Priebus was removed as Chief of Staff. Kelly came in as the guy, the stern military guy, who was going to reign in Donald Trump. He was going to stop all the nonsense, he was going to stop the incessant tweeting, he was going to get Donald Trump to actually act or pretend that he was president of the United States. And for a while, in a few different situations, we've kind of seen it happen. Every now and then Donald Trump lets a little nugget slip where he gets on Twitter and says something that's not entirely offensive, or racist, or horrible, or demeaning. Every once in a while. And you can bet that those tweets are basically coming from John Kelly. However, those are too few and far between, and to be honest, they're starting to taper off a hell of a lot. John Kelly's influence that he was allegedly supposed to have over Donald Trump never materialized. Why? It's not because General Kelly's a failure. It's because Donald Trump will not take direction from anyone in this country on any issue, ever, whatsoever. That's the kind of person he is. That's part of the narcissistic personality disorder. They will not listen to people who are smarter than them because they do not believe that anyone could be smarter than them. Probably another reason why Donald Trump decided to challenge Rex Tillerson to an IQ test. General Kelly, to his credit, has tried very hard to reign in Donald Trump, but I guess the best analogy here is, yes, it's like herding cats, except you have one person who is essentially a bag of cats. Donald Trump cannot be controlled, he cannot be reigned in, and more importantly, he cannot be reasoned with. He believe that everything he does is correct, everything he does is the right thing to do. Everyone who tells him otherwise is a moron, or they're trying to personally attack him, or they just flat out don't like him and they're trying to sabotage him. That's what's going on in Donald Trump's deluded little brain, and no matter how good General Kelly is at his job, he's not going to be able to fight back against that. You can't tame a beast that doesn't want to be tamed, especially if there's something mentally wrong with the beast, and that seems to be the case here with Donald Trump. So, Kelly and Trump can continue to fight all they want, Kelly can try to reign in Donald Trump and make him act like a president every now and then, but at the end of the day, Trump's going to do what Trump wants to do, and that's going to always prove to be a disaster for this country.

Comment, like, share this story A lot of parents are strict, and a lot of parents put pressure on their kids to be and act perfectly. Sometimes it's about getting good grades; sometimes it's about always behaving just right; sometimes it's about doing chores around the house. But for Andrea, it wasn't just sometimes and it wasn't just one thing she had to do perfectly, it was all the time and everything. Not only that, but Andrea suffered from depression since she was 14 years old, and that made everything more challenging. Finally, Andrea gathered the strength to confront her parents and talk to them about how she was feeling, but her parents didn't listen, in fact, being honest with them seemed to make everything worse. You might not believe parents like this actually exist. Their expectations are so high that she has a fear of failure as a student, as a daughter and as a member of the household. They gave her no break, no chance to learn from failure, nothing less than perfect, ever. It made her sick. Andrea was so shaken up by it, and with all the pressure they put on her, she broke down, hyperventilated and couldn't stop crying. She thought to herself, "I can't take it anymore, it's too much pressure." Having an anxiety attack, a bit of a mental breakdown. It got so bad that she had to go to the Hospital, away from her parents and all of the pressure, and recover and regain her strength. Even then, she wasn't ready to go back home, and so, staying with a friend, she builds herself up, polishes her armor and rises to the challenges she faces - ready for triumph!
