Antibiotics are medicines used to treat bacterial infections. There are different types of antibiotics that work against different strains of bacteria and some types of parasites. When used properly, they either kill or inhibit the growth of bacteria that cause a particular health problem. This in turn helps your natural immune system fight the infection. But antibiotics often have side effects that cause other temporary health issues. Some common side effects include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, vaginal yeast infections, allergic reactions and inner ear problems. 1. Eat Probiotic Yogurt When taking antibiotics, it is highly recommended to include yogurt with ‘good bacteria’ in your diet. Eating yogurt that contains ‘live cultures’ (also labeled as probiotic yogurt) helps your body recover from diarrhea, one of the common side effects of antibiotics. These live cultures are gut-friendly bacteria that provide a layer of protection in the intestines and help generate lactic acid to get bacterial toxins out of the body. 2. Eat Fermented Foods or Take a Probiotic Supplement. Apart from yogurt, many fermented foods naturally contain a high amount of probiotics. So, in addition to yogurt, include kombucha, kefir, sauerkraut, pickles, pickled beets, pickled turnips, pickled carrots and kimchi in your diet. 3. Eat Garlic. Garlic is a natural antibiotic that helps kill harmful microbes without the side effects of antibiotic medicines. Also, it contains an important compound known as allicin that protects your kidneys and liver from the potential damage of antibiotics. 4. Take Milk Thistle Supplements. Taking traditional antibiotics can be hard on your liver, which is responsible for breaking down the medications you ingest. To protect your liver from any damage due to a course of antibiotics, the herb milk thistle is very effective. The rich antioxidants in this herb help protect the liver. 5. Sip Ginger Tea Whether you suffer from diarrhea, nausea or vomiting due to prescribed antibiotics, ginger is effective in dealing with these side effects. Ginger’s natural antibiotic property helps prevent and treat many health problems caused by bacteria. Fresh ginger has an antibiotic effect against food-borne pathogens as well as respiratory and periodontal infections. 6. Eat Bland Foods. Some of the most widely reported side effects of antibitoics include diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. To counter these issues, it is advisable that you eat only bland food during and after a cource of antibiotics. These types of food inlcude dry crackers, plain bread, white rice, etc. 7. Drink Apple Cider Vinegar Tonic. Apple cider vinegar has antibacterial properties that help fight harmful bacteria in your body. Also, it is a good remedy for controlling diarrhea, one of the common side effects of antibiotic medicine. 8. Drink Enough Fluids. To counter dry mouth caused by medicines and a mild loss of fluids from diarrhea or vomiting, drink more water. Drinking an ample amount of water throughout the day will keep your body hydrated. For a more-severe loss of water, drink fluids that contain water, sugar and salt to help replace electrolytes that the body needs. 9. Stay Healthy. One way to deal with side effects of antibiotics is to stay healthy so you don’t have to take them for long. Take steps to support your health in the following way. 10. Take Antibiotics as Directed. Last but not least, you must always take your antibiotic medicine as directed by your physician. For instance, some antibiotics should be taken only with water. Others need to be taken with food in order to increase their absorption in the body and ward off an upset stomach, a common side effect of antibiotics. Top 5 Oral Antibiotics for Acne Treatment. Are they safe and effective ?

02:26
http://www.cysticacnehelp.com/antibiotics-for-acne/ Antibiotics are the most commonly used method for treating acne. There are different antibiotics used to treat acne. They all work in more or less the same way. Acne antibiotics can either be used orally or applied on the skin. Although they can help reduce and clear acne breakouts, these antibiotics have their associated side effect. Oral antibiotics for acne There are different types of oral antibiotics prescribed for the treatment of acne. The most common of these include the following. Tetracycline is one of the commonly prescribed acne treatments. For effectiveness, the patient has to take the medication on an empty stomach. Taking the medication with meals reduces its effectiveness. It has a derivative, minocycline which is commonly prescribed for treatment of pustular acne. Doxycycline is an acne treatment antibiotic commonly prescribed for patients whose acne conditions don't respond to treatment with tetracycline or minocycline. It should be taken with food. Two other antibiotics for acne: Erythromycin and Clindamycin Possible side effects of oral antibiotics for acne Nausea and vomiting Candida vaginal yeast infection in women Interaction with birth control pills lessening their effectiveness Increased skin sensitivity to the sun Allergic reactions to the medication Many acne sufferers have found the antibiotics to be quite effective in combating acne breakouts. However, effectiveness comes down to the type of antibiotics for acne used and the individual's condition. A study showed that the acne causing bacteria is becoming resistant to some of the antibiotics making them less effective for treatment. Finding the most effective antibiotics for acne to treat your breakouts can be a costly affair. The problem is that not all antibiotics available guarantee great results. If you want effective acne treatment methods which guarantee results despite your acne condition, I have compiled a short report detailing 5 easy steps to get rid of acne. The five steps involved in the report don't have any side effects and are cost effective. Don't take Antibiotic for Acne

03:17
Antibiotics are often prescribed to treat hormonal acne. However, they are not only ineffective ,but harmful! in this video Doctor Veronica explained how harmful antibiotics could be to your overall health! 1. the cause of acne in teenagers and young adults is due to imbalance of estrogen /progesterone (in females) and very high level of testosterone (in both sexes). trying to kill bacteria that got trapped in the pores, just does not make any sense, it does not address underlining problem! as soon as you stop antibiotic bugs are back on your skin in 5 seconds! No kidding! 2. Antibiotic kills bacteria everywhere in our body, including digestive tract. As humans we live in a mutually beneficial relationship (symbiosis) with the bacteria in our digestive tract. Bacteria assist in digestion of food and creation of certain nutrients. And with every new study the importance of gut microflora in health is becoming more and more evident. when beneficial bacteria got killed in our digestive track essential nutrients are not available for all cells in your body and we become sick! The damage depends on the length of the treatment. Common antibiotic treatments for acne run from several weeks to three months. Antibiotic treatment increases the levels of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in the digestive tract. It’s possible that the gut microflora never really recovers after long-term antibiotic use. Learn how to treat acne without drugs. Stay healthy. Doctor Veronica

Treatment of Legionnaires Disease | Viral Diseases

02:08
Treatment of Legionnaires Disease Legionnaires’ disease is always treated with antibiotics. Treatment is usually started as soon as the disease is suspected, without waiting for confirmation. The antibiotics are often used to treat legionnaires. Sometimes a combination of antibiotics is used, especially if it is not yet certain whether the infection is due to legionella or to other germs (bacteria). Treatment with antibiotics lasts from a week to three weeks. https://youtu.be/qBK4KwSygUM/ There are three major classes of antibiotics that are effective in treating legionellosis. These include the fluoroquinolones such as levofloxacin (Levaquin), and moxifloxacin (Avelox). the macrolides such as erythromycin, azithromyocin (Zithromax), and clarithromycin (Biaxin). the tetracyclines including doxycycline (Vibramycin). A new class of antibiotics (glycylcyclines) are also effective. In severe cases of Legionnaires' disease that seem more resistant to a single antibiotic, a second drug called rifampin (Rifadin) may be added. The choice of antibiotic is often dependent on the patient's clinical state. Zithromax and Levaquin are particularly effective because of decreased gastrointestinal irritation, higher potency, better penetration into tissue, and once-daily dosing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgpMurHJuYk Oxygen is commonly given. This is because pneumonia inflames the lungs and makes them work less well. This can cause oxygen levels to drop. Breathing in extra oxygen makes it easier for the lungs to do their job. If you are very unwell, especially with a breathing problem such as lung infection (pneumonia), you are likely to be unable to drink enough fluids. Intensive care with supportive treatments, such as assisted ventilation, may be needed if the pneumonia is severe. Many people completely recover with treatment, but most will need care in the hospital. Elderly people and those with other health conditions are particularly vulnerable to the effects of Legionnaires’ disease. They may also be given fluids and electrolytes through a vein in their arm to prevent dehydration. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUhXnki2BRA Subscribe for more https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEecKDEGw4Ii9yRHRzh_Plw/

Side effects include permanent muscle and nerve damage, when the infections they're prescribed for usually clear up on their own, without the need of any medication. What is Legionnaires Disease | Viral Diseases

03:03
What is Legionnaires disease? Legionnaires disease is a severe form of pneumonia lung inflammation usually caused by infection. Legionnaires disease is caused by a bacterium known as legionella. The legionella bacterium also causes Pontiac fever, a milder illness resembling the flu. Separately or together, the two illnesses are sometimes called legionellosis. Pontiac fever usually clears on its own, but untreated Legionnaires disease can be fatal. Although prompt treatment with antibiotics usually cures Legionnaires disease, some people continue to experience problems after treatment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUhXnki2BRA/ Causes and Common Sources Legionella is a type of bacterium found naturally in fresh water. When people are exposed to the bacterium, it can cause illness (Legionnaires disease and Pontiac fever). This bacterium grows best in warm water, like the kind found in Hot tubs Cooling towers (air-conditioning units for large buildings) Hot water tanks Large plumbing systems Decorative fountains https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcH9o4PCpsY/ Exposure and Transmission People are exposed to Legionella when they breathe in a mist or vapor (small droplets of water in the air) containing the bacteria. One example might be from breathing in droplets sprayed from a hot tub that has not been properly cleaned and disinfected. Less commonly, Legionella can be spread via aspiration of drinking water, which is when water goes down the wrong pipe, into the trachea (windpipe) and lungs instead of down the digestive tract. People at increased risk of aspiration include those with swallowing difficulties. In general, Legionella does not spread from one person to another. However, this may be possible in rare cases. Most people exposed to the bacteria do not become ill. If you have reason to believe you were exposed to the bacteria, talk to your doctor or local health department. Be sure to mention if you have spent any nights away from home in the last two weeks. Symptoms Legionnaires disease can be hard to diagnose because its symptoms are similar to other types of pneumonia and it often looks the same on a chest x-ray. The most common symptoms of Legionnaires disease include: Cough Shortness of breath High fever Muscle aches Headaches These symptoms usually begin 2 to 10 days after being exposed to the bacteria, but it can take longer so people should watch for symptoms for about 2 weeks after exposure. Treatment There are three major classes of antibiotics that are effective in treating legionellosis. These include the fluoroquinolones such as levofloxacin (Levaquin), and moxifloxacin (Avelox), the macrolides such as erythromycin, azithromyocin (Zithromax), and clarithromycin (Biaxin), and the tetracyclines including doxycycline (Vibramycin). A new class of antibiotics (glycylcyclines) are also effective. Pontiac fever requires no specific treatment. Subscribe for more https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEecKDEGw4Ii9yRHRzh_Plw/

Antibiotic Medicine Tablets and Injection Taj Pharma

13:34
# Antibiotic Medicine - Tablets and Injection For more details please visit: www.tajpharma.com Antibiotics are a group of medicines that are used to treat infections caused by some germs (bacteria and certain parasites). They do not work against infections that are caused by viruses - for example, the common cold or flu. Antibiotics are normally only prescribed for more serious bacterial infections, as many infections get better on their own. Correct use of antibiotics is absolutely essential to help reduce antibiotic resistance. Germs become resistant to antibiotics over time, which then makes them less effective. The World Health Organization (WHO) says "the world urgently needs to change the way it prescribes and uses antibiotics" as antibiotic resistance is a major global threat. What are antibiotics? Antibiotics are a group of medicines that are used to treat infections. Antibiotics are sometimes called antibacterials or antimicrobials. Antibiotics can be taken by mouth as liquids, tablets, or capsules, or they can be given by injection. Usually, people who need to have an antibiotic by injection are in hospital because they have a severe infection. Antibiotics are also available as creams, ointments, or lotions to apply to the skin to treat certain skin infections. It is important to remember that antibiotics only work against infections that are caused by bacteria and certain parasites. A parasite is a type of germ that needs to live on or in another living being (host). Antibiotics do not work against infections that are caused by viruses (for example, the common cold or flu), or fungi (for example, thrush in the mouth or vagina), or fungal infections of the skin. See the separate leaflet called Microbes, Germs and Antibiotics to read more about the different types of germs which can cause infections. Occasionally, a viral infection or minor bacterial infection develops into a more serious secondary bacterial infection. In this case, antibiotics would be needed. There are various antibiotics available and they come in various different brand names. Antibiotics are usually grouped together based on how they work. Each type of antibiotic only works against certain types of bacteria or parasites. This is why different antibiotics are used to treat different types of infection. The main types of antibiotics include: Penicillins - for example, phenoxymethylpenicillin, flucloxacillin and amoxicillin. Cephalosporins - for example, cefaclor, cefadroxil and cefalexin. Tetracyclines - for example, tetracycline, doxycycline and lymecycline. Aminoglycosides - for example, gentamicin and tobramycin. Macrolides - for example, erythromycin, azithromycin and clarithromycin. Clindamycin. Sulfonamides and trimethoprim - for example, co-trimoxazole. Metronidazole and tinidazole. Quinolones - for example, ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin and norfloxacin. Nitrofurantoin - used for urinary infections. As well as the above main types of antibiotics, there are a number of other antibiotics that specialist doctors or hospital doctors may prescribe for more uncommon infections such as tuberculosis (TB). The rest of this leaflet only discusses antibiotics that your GP may prescribe "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Azithromycin Risk of CV Death

02:27
Although several macrolide antibiotic drugs are proarrhythmic and associated with an increased risk of sudden cardiac death, azithromycin is thought to have minimal cardiotoxicity. However, published reports of arrhythmias suggest in which azithromycin could augment the risk of cardiovascular death. During 5 days of azithromycin treatment, there was a small positively increase in cardiovascular deaths, which was many pronounced among customers having a high baseline chance of cardiovascular sickness. What Is Keto Rash?

02:09
Get Purified Biles Salts Here: https://shop.drberg.com/gallbladder-f... Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into the cause-effect relationship of your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. Dr. Berg talks about keto rash. When you release more fat than usual. Fat is the substance that stores all sorts of toxins. And if your liver or gallbladder is not releasing toxins in a regular manner, your body could back up with toxic slug causing a reaction in the skin. Hi guys its Dr. Berg, in this short video I want to discuss this thing called keto rash. Here you go in this ketogenic diet and you end up with this terrible rash. If you look this up there is not much information about this and it’s hard to know what it is and so people try all sorts of things and they would start eating more carbs. This is my theory about what it is, if you look at a rash it is usually itchy called pruritus. Itchiness is coming from the liver. High levels of histamines are dumped up in to the liver because when you switch over to ketogenic and or you are running on ketones, you are releasing tons of fat that is coming out through the liver and if you don’t consume enough vegetables you are going to actually have a fatty liver but you are dumping more fat and that fat holds a lot of stuff like chemicals and toxins. If you don’t have enough bile in your gallbladder and you do a ketogenic diet, you might not be able to release the toxins that are coming out with the fat in the proper matter and you are going to create a little bit of the immune reaction with the histamines. One of the purposes of bile is to break down fats but the other purpose is to eliminate toxins. The solution is to add purified bile salts, you can use my formula which is the gallbladder formula or you can just find purified bile salts but it will increase the flow of the bile to the liver and gallbladder so you will eliminate the toxins a lot better and reduce the rash reaction that is occurring. How to treat Pneumonia? -Dr. Hirennappa B Udnur

03:57
Normally based on the severity, we classify pneumonias into community acquired pneumonias and hospital acquired at the ease of giving antibiotics. But pneumonias they look to whether they need ICU admission, whether they can be treated in ward or whether they can be treated in OPD basis. The young patients who doesn’t have any comorbidities, we can still treat it in OPD basis. In that we use something called as the curb cushion to make it more universal. For somebody who is conscious, alert, BP is normal and less than 65 years of age, without comorbidities. For those patients it doesn’t require any hospitalization, we can treat them in OPD basis or treat at home with oral antibiotics. Sometimes there is something called as you can take once daily preparations of IV antibiotics, if they are not able to take it orally. Sick patients who have comorbidities, or cardiac conditions or diabetes or somebody is not there to look after and BP is there on the lower side of the normal, and the urea is elevated more than 65 and extremes of age group, these patients they might require, they have minimal oxygen or they don’t require any ionotroph or any ventilator supports or non-invasive ventilation. They can be treated in wards with IV antibiotics. Sometimes true sick patients require ICU. The specific treatment which was required for pneumonia apart from oxygen and other supportive treatment, we need an antibiotic regimen and we send the blood cultures and all the routine investigations to identify the cause or the etiology of pneumonia. Most of the times 60% of the times, we don’t even get cause for pneumonia. So we get pneumococcal antigen. Sometimes serological investigation for mycoplasma and chlamydia are seen. Usually we look at the risk factors for pneumonia like alcoholism, various stays, endemic cities or based on that whether he is hospitalized or wound infections. These kind of things we can have high chances of having organisms. So based on that the problem core organisms has to be covered. So streptococcus has to be always covered. So we have to give penicillin anologues, cephalosporins are the treatment of choice along with a macrolide antibiotic. sometimes a single agents along either a chloroquinolone should be sufficiently like levoflocacin and moxiflocacin can be used with ceftriaxone or doxycycline or macrolides like azithromycin or clarithromycin can be used. So usually with pending cultures. Sometimes we have two situations and if they gave an IV line or suspicion of a staphylococcal infection is there, then we add linezolid or vancomycin or a teicoplanin based on that. So if pseudomonas is the risk factor, then on day one itself we add an antipsuedomonal cover like piperacilin, tazobactam or carbapenems can be used. So usually community acquired after 72 hours of antibiotic, we deescalate based on the cultures or the clinical response for the complications of pneumonia and treat it with oxygenation and all and severe forms they require ICU, ionotroph support, identify the fungal and the other reasons has to be identified. So that is how we treat pneumonias.

ADDITIONAL TAGS: Species Replication Location Membrane/ Wall Stain Epidemiology Transmission Immune Response/ Pathogenesis/Pathology Diagnosis Treatment/Vaccine Associated Mycobacterium tuberculosis Intracellular (facultative); macrophages ACID-FAST stain for mycolic acid (thick, waxy coat) HIV (and other immunosuppressed) are major risk factor Aerosol droplet nuclei (requires airborne precautions) Chronic pneumonia; chest cold symptoms + hemotysis, night sweats, weight loss, caused by immune host response primary -- latent -- reactivated stages; latent to reactive caused by immunosuppression or reinfection Infection controlled by CD4 and CD8 T cells (triggered by IFN-gamma) and macrophages -- granuloma formation HIV people get miliary TB; Diagnosed with PPD skin test (has problems HIV+ and BCG vaccine), sputum culture, QuantiFERON Test for IFN-gamma, Xpert MTB/RIF PCR test First line abx are RIPE (rifampin, isoniazid, pyrazinamide, ethambutol) BCG vaccine from bovine TB (M bovis), variable efficacy Mycobacterium leprae causes leprosy Atypical Mycobacteria / Non-Tuberculosis Mycobacteria (NTM) - not spread person to person Legionella pneumophila Intracellular (facultative); survives in humans (macrophages) and environment (amoeba) Gram negative Opportunistic; risk factors are age (50+), smoking, COPD, immunosuppression Inhalation of contaminated water (not spread person- to- person) Acute pneumonia; Legionnaires’ disease Hard to diagnose, stains poorly; grow culture on specialized agar Treat with macrolides (50S inhibitors, ie clarithromycin, azithromycin) Same bug causes Pontiac fever (more flu-like symptoms, not pneumonia) Chlamydia pneumoniae Intracellular (obligate); macrophages and epithelial cells Gram negative High rate of carriers wo symptoms Repsiratory droplets, larger than droplet nuclei, (requires droplet precautions) Chronic "walking" pneumonia Lifecycle has two stages: (1) elementary bodies, infectious but no metabolism and (2) reticulate bodies, metabolism but not infectious Modified phagosomal membrane called inclusion body Hard to diagnose, lack of std tests, resembles MTB Treat with doxycycline (30S inhibitor) bc it accumulates in host cells C. trachomatis (STD) and C. psittaci (zoonotic) INTRACELLULAR BACTERIA THAT INFECT THE LUNGS

Important information about side effects of Zithromax Azithromycin, how to be safe?

04:20
I want to give you information about Zithromax. Is new generation of Azithromycin. It was invented to use only for five days. This drug was developed for diseases such as pneumonia, bacterial bronchitis, and other bacterial infections. Zithromax was very popular and was prescribed by many doctors and medical practitioners. It was prescribed for much, much more than it was needed. Now it is prescribed for many types of cold or runny nose and it’s wrong. This way Zithromax become very popular all over the world. Zithromax should be prescribed only for bacterial infections! The problem is that Zithromax doesn’t cure flu and many cold infections. Most time we don’t need antibiotics for that kind of infections such as runny nose. If you use Zithromax, when you don’t need it, then is very high risk of side effects. http://www.pharmacy-uk.com
