Edema: Causes, and Symptoms Causes of Edema Things like a twisted ankle, a bee sting, or a skin infection will cause edema. In some cases, like an infection, this may be helpful. More fluid from your blood vessels puts more infection-fighting white blood cells in the swollen area. Edema can also come from other conditions or from when the balance of substances in your blood is off. For example: Low albumin. Your doctor may call this hypoalbuminemia. Albumin and other proteins in the blood act like sponges to keep fluid in your blood vessels. Low albumin may contribute to edema, but it’s not usually the only cause. Allergic reactions. Edema is a part of most allergic reactions. In response to the allergen, nearby blood vessels leak fluid into the affected area. Obstruction of flow. If drainage of fluid from a part of your body is blocked, fluid can back up. A blood clot in the deep veins of your leg can cause leg edema. A tumor blocking the flow of blood or another fluid called lymph can cause edema. Critical illness. Burns, life-threatening infections, or other critical illnesses can cause a reaction that allows fluid to leak into tissues almost everywhere. This can cause edema all over your body. Congestive heart failure . When the heart weakens and pumps blood less effectively, fluid can slowly build up, creating leg edema. If fluid builds up quickly, you can get fluid in the lungs. If your heart failure is on the right side of your heart, edema can develop in the abdomen. Liver disease. Severe liver disease, such as cirrhosis, causes you to retain fluid. Cirrhosis also leads to low levels of albumin and other proteins in your blood. Fluid leaks into the abdomen and can also cause leg edema. Kidney disease. A kidney condition called nephrotic syndrome can cause severe leg edema and sometimes whole-body edema. Pregnancy. Mild leg edema is common during pregnancy. But serious complications of pregnancy like deep vein thrombosis and preeclampsia can also cause edema. Head trauma , low blood sodium (called hyponatremia), high altitudes, brain tumors, and a block in fluid drainage in the brain (known as hydrocephalus) can cause cerebral edema. So can headaches, confusion, unconsciousness, and coma. Medications. Many medicines can cause edema, including: NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen and naproxen) Calcium channel blockers Corticosteroids (like prednisone and methylprednisolone) Pioglitazone and rosiglitazone Pramipexole Symptoms of Edema Your symptoms will depend on the amount of swelling you have and where you have it. Edema in a small area from an infection or inflammation (like a mosquito bite) may cause no symptoms. On the other hand, a large allergic reaction (such as from a bee sting) may cause edema on your entire arm that can bring pain and limit your arm's movement. Food allergies and allergic reactions to medicine may cause tongue or throat edema. This can be life-threatening if it interferes with your breathing. Leg edema can make the legs feel heavy. This can affect walking. In edema and heart disease, for example, the legs may easily weigh an extra 5 or 10 pounds each. Severe leg edema can interfere with blood flow, leading to ulcers on the skin. Pulmonary edema causes shortness of breath and sometimes low oxygen levels in the blood. Some people with pulmonary edema may have a cough. There may be an indent or a “pit” that remains for a while after you push on the skin in some types of edema. This is called pitting edema. If the tissue springs back to its normal shape, it’s called non-pitting edema. It’s a symptom that may help your doctor figure out the cause of your edema. Treatment of Edema To treat edema, you often must treat its underlying cause. For example, you might take allergy medications to treat swelling from allergies. Edema from a block in fluid drainage can sometimes be treated by getting the drainage flowing again. A blood clot in the leg is treated with blood thinners. They break down the clot and get drainage back to normal. A tumor that blocks blood or lymph can sometimes be shrunk or removed with surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation. Leg edema related to congestive heart failure or liver disease can be treated with a diuretic (sometimes called a ''water pill'') like furosemide (Lasix). When you can pee more, fluid from the legs can flow back into the blood. Limiting how much sodium you eat can also help.

Pimple Popper Tools: https://amzn.to/2kJeBk9 A skin abscess is a tender mass generally surrounded by a colored area from pink to deep red. Abscesses are often easy to feel by touching. The vast majority of them are caused by infections. Inside, they are full of pus, bacteria and debris. Painful and warm to touch, abscesses can show up any place on your body. The most common sites on the skin in your armpits (axillae), areas around your anus and vagina (Bartholin gland abscess), the base of your spine (pilonidal abscess), around a tooth (dental abscess), and in your groin. Inflammation around a hair follicle can also lead to the formation of an abscess, which is called a boil (furuncle). Unlike other infections, antibiotics alone will not usually cure an abscess. In general an abscess must open and drain in order for it to improve. Sometimes draining occurs on its own, but generally it must be opened with the help of a warm compress or by a doctor in a procedure called incision and drainage (I&D). http://www.balancedhealthtoday.com/Lymplex.html http://www.balancedhealthtoday.com/Lymplex-ingredients.html While the circulatory system is based on the constant pumping action of the heart, the lymphatic system depends on more subtle factors to achieve constant drainage, including: • Pressure changes within the tissue which propel the lymph into draining vessels • Smooth muscle within the walls of the larger lymphatic pre-collector and collector vessels that contract and push the lymph forward • Contractions of surrounding structures, such as arteries and muscles, which compress lymph vessels and propel fluid forward Valves in the lymph vessels and contraction of muscles in surrounding tissue help move the fluid towards the larger collector vessels. Each section of collector vessels is called a lymphangion and fluid is propelled through each lymphangion until it reaches a lymph node. Lymph nodes range in size from 1 mm to 25 mm, about the size of an almond. The outermost layer of the lymph node consists of densely packed lymphocytes (white blood cells) which activate the immune system if needed. There are approximately 600 lymph nodes scattered throughout the trunk, with some situated very deep in the tissue and others lying more superficially. Lymph nodes are located primarily in the neck region (cervical nodes), the armpits (axillary nodes), and groin area (inguinal nodes). Some stand individually while others are grouped into clusters. http://www.balancedhealthtoday.com/store http://www.balancedhealthtoday.com/store/lymplex.html

This guy was so patient waiting for me! I was running way behind on this day, and he was my last patient of the day. I think he waited almost 45 minutes for me, and when I saw him, I had enough time to only remove one of his lipomas. So I promised i would see him again and be sure to remove any others that he wants to have removed. I think he was surprised that the surgery was so simple. And I think he was pretty happy to get this removed. As you can see, it's pretty hard to miss if he's wearing a short sleeved shirt. I think most of us can see why he wanted to have this removed. I was happy to do it, especially since he has a wife who is definitely a popaholic! Next time, we hope she will get to accompany him when he gets other lipomas removed. I'm sure she would like to watch in person. We look forward to meeting her! A lipoma is slow-growing, benign growth of fat cells. It is contained in a thin, fibrous capsule and found right under the skin. A lipoma is typically not tender and moves around easily with slight pressure. A lipoma is not cancerous and treatment generally is not necessary. There is also a condition called familial lipomatosus, where people develop multiple lipomas, especially on the arms and legs, and other family members have these growths as well. If the lipoma is on a pressure-bearing area, it may create discomfort and this is when people seek removal. People also request removal because they don’t like the appearance of these bumps. Often a small incision can be made over the lipoma and they can be “popped” out easily. This is a simple in-office surgical procedure under local anesthesia. Heart attack can manifest with different complaints in different patients. The classical symptom is severe chest pain in the center of the chest, maybe a little to the right or to the left, a heaviness or and around the chest or a weight on the chest and it may radiate to the inside of the arm or both shoulders or to the jaw or the upper back or upper abdomen. This may be associated with breathlessness, sweating, sometimes and loss of consciousness. So these are the classic signs of heart attack. Bruising is not a manifestation of heart attack. Bruising may be due to blood thinners that we use to treat of heart attack. But we should always remember that of heart attack do not present with these kind of symptoms with only some minor heart burn or sometimes with excessive fatigability or left arm pain particularly when they have coronary risk factors like smoking, blood pressure or diabetes, family history or age. So when these risk factors are there, the complaints are a little different. You should be ready to consider that possibility.

Acoustic Wave Therapy AWT Lipotripsy Cellulite & Body Contouring Originally, acoustic waves (known as shockwave therapy) were used for the fragmentation of kidney stones exclusively because of their mechanical effects. Recent studies have revealed that acoustic waves produce biological effects that may stimulate metabolic processes and improve connective tissue elasticity in aesthetic therapy. AWT Lipotripsy works by stimulating fat break down, collagen synthesis and lymphatic drainage. AWT Lipotripsy is delivered by placing a probe up against the areas of cellulite, as it passes over the area it emits radial waves through the skin. As the radial waves pass through the skin, it activates the fat cells and increases blood flow. This in turn reduces the cellulite appearance and increases skin elasticity. The excess, unwanted fatty acids within your fat cells then naturally passes through your lympathic system, having a non-invasive 3D lipo affect. Results are seen as quickly as 2 weeks after starting the course of treatment; a course of treatment requires 8-10 individual 45-minute sessions, 2 -3 a week for 3-4 weeks. Your therapist will be able to tailor your treatment program specifically to you. If you exercise and increase how much water you drink you may see even better results. 90% of women who took part in a clinical study would recommend this treatment as shown in Professor Schlaudraft’s research. Acoustic Wave Therapy AWT or Lipotripsy is shown to reduce the effects of cellulite and reduce circumference around legs, hips and arms, Lipotripsy is a simple and safe treatment to achieve your clients goals. Lipotripsy is a clinically proven therapy to redefine your body and help contour your body. AWT Lipotripsy for Fine Line & Wrinkles: Acoustic Wave Therapy AWT or Lipotripsy for the face is a non invasive treatment applied to the surface of the skin to stimulate fibroblasts deeps within the skin to resume collagen and elastin production. It promotes cell renewal to improve skin density and elasticity, making the skin look firmer and smoother, and with reduced wrinkle depth after only one treatment. Stimulation of micro-circulation (blood/lymph) Improvement of tissue elasticity Stimulation of cellular metabolism Stimulation of stem cells Release of growth factors Lipotripsy Face Explained: The skin begins to ages in our mid-20's where the connective tissue stores less moisture and cell production slows down. Fine lines and wrinkles are the result of the reduced elasticity of the dermal fibres and the effects of this process can be most obviously seen in the face. Lipotripsy Face is a non invasive treatment applied to the surface of the skin to stimulate fibroblasts deeps within the skin to resume collagen and elastin production. It promotes cell renewal to improve skin density and elasticity, making the skin look firmer and smoother, and with reduced wrinkle depth after only one treatment. Treatment Recommendations: Treatment areas include around the mouth, cheeks, jowls, chin and the sides of the eyes. A course of 6 treatments, twice weekly is recommended. AWT used as combination and prep treatment: Acoustic wave therapy also an excellent combination therapy, used to prep the skin before other aesthetic treatments such as HIFU, Fat Freezing and Laser Facials, dramatically improving results from the other treatments your clinic offers. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ★★══════════★★★══════════★★ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Massage therapy can be an appropriate means of relaxation in relieving fatigue from all day activities. But not only that, massage can actually relieve symptoms of certain diseases. Massage is a general term for stressing the body, especially the skin, muscles, and tendons with certain techniques. Currently, massage therapy is available from expensive spa sites to traditional masseuse services that can be called home. Even in shopping centers, you can enjoy massage services with tools or therapist assistance at affordable prices. Massage can be done with various techniques. The following are some of them. • DEEP Tissue Massage. It is the most appropriate treatment for dealing with chronic pain and stiffness in the body. The therapist will make slow movements focused on certain parts. • SHIATSU Massage. In Japanese, shiatsu means "finger pressure". Massagers will use varying pressure with fingers at points called acupressure points. This point is believed to be an important part of the body's energy. • THAI Massage. A therapist will move the patient's body to various positions to suppress certain muscles. • REFLEXOLOGY. Massage using hands and fingers to stimulate certain areas of the feet. In addition, there are other conditions that can be helped by massage therapy, such as during pregnancy. Massage during pregnancy can help relieve stress, swelling of the legs and arms, and pain in muscles and joints. Furthermore, by recognizing the benefits and risks that might be caused by undergoing massage therapy, it can make you more selective in choosing a massage place. • RELIEVE Symptoms Massage has become one of the alternative treatment techniques in addition to medical treatment for various diseases. In addition to generally functioning as a means of relaxation to relieve depression and anxiety, here are some diseases that can be relieved by massage therapy. • HEADACHE. Research shows that massage can relieve migraine pain and help other types of headache sufferers to get better quality sleep. • BACK PAIN. Research reveals that massage can overcome the symptoms of chronic back pain. But this antinying effect is relatively short and to establish massage therapy as the main treatment method for complaints of chronic back pain, further research is still needed. • OSTEOARTHRITIS. Patients who undergo massage therapy 1-2 times a week can experience reduced pain and stiffness in their knees due to osteoarthitis. • CANCER. Massage can be used as a side therapy proven to be a means of relaxation and reduce the symptoms or side effects of cancer treatment. Massage can also build the immune system, relieve pain, swelling, fatigue, and nausea. In addition, the study also found that massage therapy is beneficial to alleviate disorders of other conditions, such as fibromyalgia, stress, care for infant growth, digestive disorders, myofacial pain syndrome (severe muscle tension in one or several areas, thus limiting body movements ), nerve disorders, muscle injuries, insomnia, and joint pain. • STILL At RISK Although the benefits are enormous, it is possible that massage therapy is not appropriate for certain conditions, for example: • FRACTURE. Severe osteoporosis. Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), which is a condition when blood clots occur on the inside of the body. This condition is most common in the foot area, so it can cause pain. Bleeding disorders or taking blood thinners. Burns or wounds that have not healed completely. Thrombocytopenia or lack of platelets in the blood. During pregnancy, you also need to consult first if you want to undergo massage therapy. Likewise, when you have cancer or other diseases that cause pain it is unbearable. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ★★══════════★★★══════════★★ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

http://vibraboard.info/ http://vibraboard.info/bone-density/ http://vibraboard.info/strength-training/ Precautions to consider before undergoing geriatric massage: This type of massage therapy is not suitable for everyone and it should not be used as a substitute for medical treatments or exercise programs. In addition to these conditions, the therapy should not be practiced on older people suffering with the following conditions: • Varicose veins; • Severe acute pain; • Drug healing with blood thinners; • Some forms of cancers; • Certain heart conditions; • Open or unhealed bed sores; • Recent surgeries; • History of blood clots. This gentle form of massage therapy rarely leads to adverse effects because the therapist uses gentle hand movements which soothe and comfort the body. Passive movements and gentle stretching of the legs, feet, and shoulders offers you improved flexibility and joint mobility. Massaging your feet and hands gently helps to alleviate stiffness and relieve pain. Occasionally stronger movements like friction and pressure strokes are used to massage areas like the shoulders in order to offer improved flexibility. http://www.balancedhealthtoday.com/products.html http://www.balancedhealthtoday.com/vibraboard.html

NY Medical Malpractice Lecture to NYC Bar Association Bridge-the-Gap Program for Lawyers http://www.Oginski-Law.com/ New York Medical Malpractice Lawyer Gerry Oginski Explains 516-487-8207 Email: Gerry@Oginski-Law.com I was recently invited to speak again to the New York City Bar Association as part of their continuing legal education program called "Bridge-the-Gap." You should know that every attorney in New York is required to take 24 credits worth of continuing legal education every two years. The "Bridge-the-Gap" program given by the New York City Bar Association is a great compilation of lectures by attorneys handling a wide variety of topics. This program allows attorneys who do not handle these specific types of cases to get a broad overview of how these cases work and what they need to know about each of these topics. The majority of lawyers who participated in my lecture that day were not medical malpractice attorneys. In fact most of them handle cases having nothing whatsoever to do with injured victims or injured patients. They range from real estate transactions to business transactions to trusts and estate work and much more. My goal during this discussion was to give these attorneys a detailed overview of medical malpractice law that they needed to know that would help them throughout their legal career. Inevitably, these lawyers will encounter clients, colleagues and friends who tell them about injuries they received as result of improper medical care. Since they do not handle this type of law, the question arises about what they are going to do next to help their potential client when they encounter someone who believes a doctor or hospital did them wrong. It's always easy to say “I don't handle that type of law. Go try and find someone on your own to answer your legal questions.” Instead, today's discussion helped these lawyers understand the time limits associated with these lawsuits, which by the way, are only valid as of the date of this presentation. The reality is that time limits for civil lawsuits change from time to time, and a viewer should never ever rely on the time limits described in the video, online or elsewhere. If you want a great overview of how these medical malpractice cases work here in New York, then I invite you and encourage you to watch the entire presentation. It's filled with great illustrations and stories that help bring to life how these laws and cases actually work. Watch the video to learn more... Here's a cardiac malpractice case where I was able to achieve a $6 million dollar settlement for my client: http://www.oginski-law.com/video/cardiac-malpractice-in-ny.cfm Here's a foot surgery case where a Westchester, NY jury awarded my client $1.55 million dollars for her pain and suffering: http://ow.ly/azKg6 To learn more about how accident & medical malpractice cases work in the state of New York, I encourage you to explore my educational website, http://www.Oginski-Law.com. Leech therapy is the use of leeches in the treatment of disease conditions. Medicinal leeches are bloodsucking worms that they live in both aquatic and terrestrial environments. Leech consists two “suckers”, one at each end. The back end sucker helps to attach its host; the front sucker contains the mouth with three sharp jaws that leave a Y – shaped bite. The first practice of leech therapy is thought to have taken place in ancient India in 1000 BC. In ancient – medicine, the leech therapy was used to remove waste blood from a patient as part of a process to “balance the body fluids”. When the micro-circulation of the body is disturbed, the whole body suffers. In our body red blood cells (R.B.C) carry oxygenated blood to all the tissues and organs. When red blood cells start to lose their flexibility or stick together, they can no longer get through the smaller vessels. Cellular exchanges of nutrition and waste disposal are disturbed and the body tissues are no longer oxygenated. Leech salivary gland has many bio-active substances, which are given to the host in exchange for some blood taken. These include anti-coagulants, blood –thinners, vaso-dilators, antibiotics and histamine-like substances. Leech salivary glands also secrete lipolytic enzymes which break down fat, such as cholesterol, lipase, triglycerides. These enzymes work together against the aging process and prevent diseases. Hirudin is the bio-chemical substance that acts as anti- coagulant that leeches use to thin the blood to make it easier to extract from the host. After the leech has finished feeding, it is Hirudin that allows the wound to keep bleeding for a few hours. This is of benefit because the bleeding cleanses the wound from any bacteria. The bleeding also allows other turbid substances to leave the body with the blood, such as lymph fluid, inflammation, and toxins. NADIPATHY TREATMENTS BY USING LEECH: Diabetic wounds Varicose veins Osteoarthritis Rheumatoid arthritis Blood purification Hypertension Headache Migraine Allergies Paralysis Sciatica Alopecia Lymph nodes Inflammatory reactions Haemorrhoids Filaria Eye diseases Sinusitis Ear problems Throat problems According to Nadipathy leech at first bite, only sucks impure blood from the skin and only the pure blood is left, so it is a blood purification therapy. Later it starts sucking pure blood, the patient feels pain. Today most of the diseases are un- curable without by using of medicines and surgeries. There are no harmful side effects with leech therapy, which is a major reason for its current success.
