Sequence Your LinkedIn Learning Plan

02:26
for more fresh sales strategies, visit http://www.jillkonrath.com TRANSCRIPT Hey! You’re already getting smarter. By now, you’ve discovered rapid learning requires you do to do things a whole lot differently from your normal ways. Shoot, your old high school teachers would really be impressed at how organized you are now. Now that you’ve completed your Chunking exercise, it’s time to move to a crucial next step – Sequencing. You can’t learn it all at once. You need to determine what’s essential to know now versus what can wait. If you’re learning something totally new, it’s likely that you don’t have the knowledge to answer that question. That’s where the experts come in. Remember those product launches I talked about in the previous video? In very short order, I discovered that my learning needed to start with a general overview of the product and target market. Then, I needed to throw myself into learning all about the primary decision makers – their needs, status quo, issues, challenges and objectives. Knowing this was crucial for me to figure out how to ramp up sales quickly. Here’s the deal. There’s always a sequence that works better than others. 1. When you’re learning LinkedIn, virtually every expert suggests that you start with your profile. It’s your home base, your online professional presence. Without a strong one, you’ll look like a loser when people Google you or pop on over to check you out on LinkedIn. 2. After that, the next thing you need to learn is how to research your prospects. 3. Then, connecting with colleagues and customers. And so it goes. You learn one part at a time. You figure it out. You work with it. And ultimately you internalize it. Then, you tackle the next thing. What you want to do is create an actual learning plan for mastering LinkedIn. One step at a time. Rapid learning can’t happen if you’re jumping around, dabbling in bits and pieces of the topic. It’s about a laser-sharp focus on one area – till you get it. Then, moving on. So let me summarize. So far, you’ve learned about Dumping, Chunking and Sequencing. After doing all this, we’ve now narrowed it down to just one area to master first – your LinkedIn profile. But again, we come up with the proverbial question: How do I do that? In our next episode, we’ll take a deep dive into what it takes to create a rock-solid LinkedIn profile.

Designing a unit

03:22
Designing a unit Career Stage - Graduate Main Focus area - 3.2 Secondary Focus areas - 3.5 & 3.6 School - Darwin High School A pre-service teacher at Darwin High school is given the opportunity to design a unit of study for her students. Her unit on how the media uses gender stereotyping to market toys draws upon her academic expertise in the field of Psychology. Designing an interconnected lesson sequence allows her to understand the complex roles of teachers, and to realise that their role extends beyond the classroom. She understands that without extensive thinking and pre-planning, quality learning is not guaranteed. Designing a unit shows her importance of prior learning to the sequential development of knowledge, skills and understanding. It also allows her to take a longer term view of learning. http://www.aitsl.edu.au/australian-professional-standards-for-teachers/illustrations-of-practice/detail?id=IOP00228

Standard 4.2 Manage Classroom Activities

02:18
Evidence:  Math Lesson Sequence A series of math lesson plans were developed during an SPE. Each lesson began with a fluency addition game, followed by carpet time and then an activity for independent or group learning. During this time, instructions were provided to students at several intervals. Directions had to be clear, concise and understood by students to ensure smooth transitions and limited impact on learning time. Organisation of materials was imperative to this process. Required resources were listed on each of my lesson plans and then prepared so they were on-hand before the lesson began. For example, in this video, I am giving students directions on what to do for the next part of their math lesson. Prior organisation included sourcing of MABs and place value charts from colleagues at the beginning of the day. To support clarity of directions, I used call and response, chorale reading, checking-in and PowerPoint slides to reinforce verbal directions. Each step was explicitly set out for students, including the amount of materials they needed. These considerations contributed towards an effective transition into the next activity with minimal impact on learning time.

How to Teach the Alphabet | Reading Lessons

02:46
Watch more How to Teach Your Child to Read videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/460479-How-to-Teach-the-Alphabet-Reading-Lessons Hi. my name is Anne Glass. I'm a reading and learning specialist at a private school in New York City and I work with Kindergarteners through 3rd graders on Reading, Word Study, and Writing Skills. In addition to be a reading specialist and learning specialist, I'm also a parent and today I'm going to talk to you about topics in reading Being able to name the letters in the alphabet is one of the critical predictors of reading success. There are several different activities that you can use to teach your child the alphabet. Most people like to start teaching using the alphabet song which is a completely acceptable way to start. In fact, most children in this country know that song; could sing it in their sleep, probably. That is a perfectly fine way to start as long as you move quickly away from singing the alphabet to saying it. Because if your child can say the alphabet without relying on a melody then you can be certain that he knows it for sure. I always like to use visual aids and I think that any teaching, when it can be multisensory, is going to be much more effective. If you can have your child say the alphabet, each letter at a time while pointing to it, they're getting that tactile feedback and also the auditory feedback from pronouncing the letter name, looking at the letter and touching it with his finger. Another really helpful manipulative are these 3D letters. These are mine and they're just regular block letters that you can do out of order or move around. So they can be easily manipulated. And again it's a letter identification task. Another great teaching tool I like to use is this alphabet mat. It's got the alphabet in block letters across the top as both a reminder and also a point and say task. And then you can also go back to your 3-dimensional letters and, as a separate or additional activity, put the letters in sequence going around the arc. So up here is my "M", I place the "M" on the "M". "A" and then "B" going all the way around. Knowledge of the sequence of the alphabet is also going to be really helpful to your child going forward. Simple flash cards are also a great tool. These are my upper-case flash cards and you just go one by one and ask your child to name the letter as you go through. For more advanced alphabet learners, this is called a missing letter deck. You are prompting the child with two letters to give you the third one that's missing. So in this case it's "D", "E" and your child will say "F". Go on to the next one: "F", "G"... "H". And so on. Again, knowledge of letter names is one of the most important predictors of how quickly and easily your child will acquire early reading skills. And it's important that letter names be taught explicitly and directly, starting in preschool.

Seed Germination | #aumsum #kids #education #science #seeds

05:28
Our topic for today is Seed Germination. The life of a plant begins from a tiny seed. The seed is protected by an outer covering called a seed coat. The seed contains a small baby plant called the embryo. Conditions required for the growth of a seed are Moisture, Warmth, Nutrient rich soil, Sunlight and Good quality seed. Once, these conditions are satisfied, the seed begins to grow. The seed absorbs water from the soil and provides moisture to the embryo. The plant cells inside the seed start duplicating, enzymes get activated and the embryo starts getting nourishment. The first sign of growth is a tiny root which comes out of the seed. With more and more nourishment, the embryo starts growing. Eventually, the growing plant bursts open through the seed coat in search of sunlight to start its own process of photosynthesis. Once the seed coat falls off, the root starts growing downwards to anchor the seed and to search for more food and nutrients from the soil. Meanwhile, the shoot also starts growing upwards towards the light. Soon, we see a baby plant with tiny leaves. This process of the growth of a seed into a plant is called germination.

I'm going to teach the follower step and Diego will come back and show the leader step. So the followers begin with their feet together, toes apart. Shifting our weight to the right leg and we're going to step forward, one, two, three, four, cross left over right, five. Keeping your toes closed transfer your weight step back with the right, six, side seven, eight. Begin by shifting your weight to the right and your going to go forward one, side two, back three, four, cross left over right five, toes together, shift your weight back with the right six, side seven, eight. From here just wait for the next signal making sure that you keep your spine straight and weight slightly on the balls of your feet. So now Diego's going to come back and show you the leader step. Diego: Ok so here it goes. You have a small back step, one, side two, forward step three, forward step four, five, small forward step six, side seven, and change of weight eight. We have, small step back one, side step two, forward three, forward four, cross the lady, change the weight six, seven, change weight eight. From here you can do it again if you wish. Change your weight to your left leg leaders and we have, one, two, step on the outside three, step on the outside four, cross your partner with your torso as you bring your feet together, that's number five, six, seven, eight. If you wanted to repeat this step you again. We have one, two, step on the outside three, four, cross your partner, five, six, seven, and eight. Woman: When you're doing the eight step basic as a follower make sure you don't start to lead your partner. It's very important that you let the leader be the leader and you be the follower. Diego: The point that is most important is the cross as a leader. Make sure that you use your spiral to lead your partner and always remember never to use the grip of you hands. So when you get to this position you want to spiral your torso as you bring your feet together. There you have it.

English Grammar Lessons - Verbs and Tenses | Learning English Lessons

07:56
Basic English Grammar lesson -- Verbs and Tenses -- Speak fluent English. What are verbs? The verb is king in English. The shortest sentence contains a verb. You can make a one-word sentence with a verb, for example: "Stop!" You cannot make a one-word sentence with any other type of word. Verbs are sometimes described as "action words". This is partly true. Many verbs give the idea of action, of "doing" something. For example, words like run, fight, do and work all convey action. But some verbs do not give the idea of action; they give the idea of existence, of state, of "being". For example, verbs like be, exist, seem and belong all convey state. What is a Tense? Tense is a method that we use in English to refer to time - past, present and future. Many languages use tenses to talk about time. Other languages have no tenses, but of course they can still talk about time, using different methods. So, we talk about time in English with tenses. But, and this is a very big but: • we can also talk about time without using tenses (for example, going to is a special construction to talk about the future, it is not a tense) • one tense does not always talk about one time (see Tense & Time for more about this)

The floor exercise is a little bit different when you're talking about men's and women's gymnastics. Men do not use any music. It's only tumbling and one or two non-tumbling skills. They call them non-acrobatic skills. For women, women combine dance, non-acrobatic skills, acrobatic skills, and choreography into their tumbling, so they have to be good dancers, good tumblers. They have to combine a lot of different things that the men don't necessarily have to have. But this today, I'm just going to run you guys through a basic beginner's floor routine. No matter what level, no matter what age group normally the floor routine will consist of a few things. You'll have a front tumbling pass, so like a front handspring, a front roll, a front flip, anything forwards. Then you'll also have a back tumbling pass, so something like a roundup back handspring, or a roundup back handspring back tuck, back layout, back full. Aside from your front and back tumbling pass, girls will have dance elements and flexibility. So they'll have leaps. They'll have turns. Things like that. So let's watch Alyssa do her beginner's floor gymnastics routine. Usually they'll use music to choreograph the routine, too. At any level the girls use floor, they use music on the floor, and this will be her back tumbling pass, roundup back handspring, rebound, nice stick. Then she's going to do one of her dance elements, called a turn. That was a full turn. Now she's doing her another non-acrobatic skill called a leap and a jump. Nice, and now she's going to finish with a front skill. Nice, so we saw the front tumbling pass, back tumbling pass, non-acrobatic turns, leaps and jumps and dance, in between all of this. That's how you put together a beginner's floor gymnastics routine.

You’ll leave your mat feeling great in both mind and body, knowing you completed a beautifully well-rounded class. Build heat and cultivate strength as you move through a beautifully-sequenced and continuous flow. Ladder flows are different than your typical Vinyasa classes because of their sequencing. They begin by two postures, steadily adding two new movements per round. At the end of each class, you’ll have memorized a complete flow and gotten a great, full-body workout! What makes this series different than the original Ladder Flows plan is not only are the classes longer, but we inject strength-building holds and poses into each round. So as we add new postures to our sequences, we’ll pause in dolphin, plank, or crow to develop muscular strength and stability. You’ll notice as you repeat these classes that the holds become easier and new variations feel within reach! Did you like this yoga video? How to Do a Simple Step for Beginners | Step Dance

02:21
Want to learn more about the legacy and culture of Step Dancing? Soul Steppin: http://amzn.to/1FVn9vR Stomp The Yard: http://amzn.to/1QbUz9A Jabbawockeez Dance Black T-shirt: http://amzn.to/1VHI9I7 Watch more How to Step Dance videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/513421-How-to-Do-a-Simple-Step-for-Beginners-Step-Dance Hi, my name is Victor Sho, and this is my assistant Oscar Acevedo, and we are going to teach you a beginner level of how to combine a step to a bass beat. So we're going to start off teaching you the bass beat and then Oscar will always do the bass beat. And I will you another step, which is just one step routine that you will do one at a time and then together. Alright? So, we start off with our bass beat. What we're going to do is do a single stomp with our right leg, and then you go onto your left and do a hand clap. Okay? So you're going to go boom, boom clap. Five, six, seven, and right, left right. Five, six, seven, and right, left, right. Then you're going to go right, left clap, boom, bop. Right, left clap, right stomp, right thigh. So it goes five, six, seven, and. So now you're going to add your left stomp and another hand clap right after that. So it's going to go boom, boom bop, boom, bop, boom, bop. After we do this phrase right here, five, six, seven, and [dances], you're going to do another single stomp right here, another left single stomp, and a clap. Do another hand clap. Okay? So let's combine that right there. So you're going to go boom, boom clap, boom, bop, boom, bop. Boom, boom, bop. Cool? So now, right now, you've got to understand that we just, our last stomp was on our left leg but we're going to do another stomp on the left leg to now clap over the right and then under the right. Okay? So it's going to go, let's take it from here. Boom, boom bop, boom, clap, clap. Okay? So let's combine that all together. So it should sound something like this. So it should go boom, boom bop, boom, bop, boom, bop. Boom, boom bop, boom, bop, bop. Okay? And then we're going to do this one more time. So now we loop it, yeah? So this right leg is up and you're just going to use that next stomp to start it all over again. And it's just going to go boom, boom bop, boom, bop, boom, bop. Boom, boom bop, boom, bop, bop, and finish, boom. So now, that is our bass beat. And it sounds pretty much like this. Five, six, five, six, five, six, seven, and [dances]. And that's your bass beat. So now we're going to add the actual step that we need to learn to combine with this bass beat. You ready? Here we go. We stomp with our left leg, and clap over our right and then under our right. We want to stomp with our right leg and clap over our left and then under our left. And the beat goes boom, bop, bop, boom, bop, bop. One more time. Five, six, seven, and a [dances]. Okay? So right now you're going to stomp this leg right here, boom, and then clap with your hand. Okay? Then you're going to go, to combine it together it's going to go boom, bop, bop, boom, bop, bop, boom, clap. Okay? And then you're going to take a stomp with your right leg, boom, and hit both your thighs with your hands, bop. So it's going to go five, six, seven, and boom, bop, bop, boom, bop, bop, boom, bop. Boom, bop. To finish that off you're going to stomp with your left leg and clap twice with your hands. Boom, bop, bop. Cool? So let's add that on. So it's going to go boom, bop, bop, boom, bop, bop, boom, bop. Boom, bop, boom bop. Bop. Okay? So now to finish this you're going to do it one more time again but the ending is going to be a little bit difference. So after you said boom, bop, bop, boom, bop, bop, boom bop. Boom, bop, boom bop. Bop. You're going to do it one more time. Boom, bop, bop, boom, bop, bop, boom bop. Boom, bop, boom bop. And now this ending is where the difference comes. You're going to do two doubles and end off with a single. Ba-boom, ba-boom, boom. Once again, after you hit your thighs right here you're going to go right left, right left, right. Okay? So let's combine it, just that second part. So you're going to go boom, bop, bop, boom, bop, bop, boom bop. Boom, bop, boom bop. Ba-boom, ba-boom, boom. Okay? So now when you put it all together for just the step alone it sounds like this. So now we're going to take that step and mix it with the bass beat to create a whole new beat. Are you ready? I'm going to do it slow, in tempo, and then we're done. Here we go. Five, six, five, six, five, six, seven and. And that's how you do it.
