Do you constantly feel tired, experience muscle spasms, and notice your eyes twitching? If so, there's a chance that your body is suffering from a magnesium deficiency. A magnesium deficiency can cause serious illness because too many processes in the body depend on it. That’s why you should stay alert and be able to spot a deficiency in time. So, what are some other symptoms of this condition and what can you do to feel better? Bright Side compiled a checklist of magnesium deficiency symptoms. To avoid magnesium deficiency in the future, decrease your consumption of alcohol, gluten, processed foods, and refined sugar. But before you proceed with any of this self-medication, make sure to consult your doctor first, get their permission, and follow their professional advice. TIMESTAMPS: Sugar cravings 0:45 Muscle soreness and cramping 1:19 Insomnia 1:56 Bone problems 2:37 Acid reflux 3:10 Stress and apathy 3:39 Constipation 4:26 Fatigue 4:55 Severe headaches 5:36 High blood pressure 6:14 Magnesium-rich foods 7:28 #magnesiumdeficiency #magnesiumrichfoods #magnesiumrichdiet Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - A burning desire to eat something sweet shows a lack of important nutrients, including chromium and magnesium. - If you notice that you’ve started to experience muscle soreness and cramps regularly (and you haven’t been hitting the gym harder or anything), it could be your low magnesium levels to blame. - If you lack magnesium, it’s not surprising at all if you develop insomnia and sleep troubles. Plus, a magnesium deficiency is closely connected to muscle cramps, right? This combo can cause restless leg syndrome. - Low magnesium levels increase the risk of developing bone problems, especially fractures. And that’s because a low amount of magnesium reduces the level of calcium in your blood as well, making your bones a lot weaker. - Magnesium prevents the release of food and stomach acid into the esophagus. So if your system lacks it, this process reverses, allowing acid to enter the esophagus. - Insufficient magnesium basically equals anxiety and constant stress. And this is exactly why your depression may have nothing to do with your emotional side, it could be purely physical! - The reasons why you may have constipation can vary from stress to a serious under-consumption of fiber. And, of course, magnesium can be a cause of it too! - Persistent fatigue is a red flag you should always pay attention to. And here’s where magnesium could be the culprit. - If you lack vitamins A, B, C, and D, it can lead to frequent headaches that usually affect only one side of your head, depending on the vitamin you're lacking. - One study that was conducted by French researchers showed that magnesium deficiency increases blood pressure. - Including more of magnesium-rich foods in your diet will help your system recover in just a few weeks. Clogged arteries result from the build-up of a substance called plaque in the arterial walls. It is also medically referred to as arterial plaque. This plaque can reduce blood flow or even block it altogether. Clogged arteries increase your risk of developing other health complications like a heart attack or stroke. Some of the most common risk factors for clogged arteries are: High levels of LDL (bad cholesterol) or low levels of HDL (good cholesterol) A high blood pressure Smoking tobacco Diabetes or elevated blood sugar levels A family history of atherosclerosis or clogged arteries Stress Obesity A sedentary lifestyle Most cases of clogged arteries do not exhibit any symptoms until a heart attack or blood clot presents itself. The loss of muscle mass and weight is a late stage finding of adrenal fatigue. The body enters a catabolic state as it is trying to conserve energy. https://www.drlam.com/blog/catabolic-state/11154/ This is Dr. Lam, founder of DrLam.com and I want to talk to you about this very significant issue that some people, and the good news is that only a small number of people face it, in adrenal fatigue. When the body enters the advanced stages of adrenal fatigue it enters what we call a catabolic state. The body is trying to conserve energy, and what better way than to break down the current muscles in order to generate energy for the brain and the rest of the body. At this time, usually, the body is trying to slow down the G.I. tract as well. So the assimilation of food tends to be problematic, and food sensitivity can become quite prominent. Over time what people realize and experience is this is a gradual loss of weight; the muscles under the arms can become flabby, the weight in addition to loss or slow losing weight can also experience flaciddity, that means it's losing the collagen integrity of the muscles, so you will find that doing push ups will be a little bit more and more difficult, and sometimes even taking a breath, a deep breath will be problematic; because without the proper muscle mass the expansion of the chest cage can be compromised. So this goes along with many other symptoms of catabolic state, so when you have weight loss for no apparent reason and all your doctors tell you everything is fine, you've been checked out and screened for other more serious problems such as cancer, and nobody knows why and you are unable to gain weight, then you have to think of adrenal fatigue in an advanced stage situation. Now remember, we're talking about advanced stages and most of the time, by the time sufferers come to this stage, they are usually somewhat limited in their energy expenditure. They can be housebound, they usually have multiple chemical sensitivities, as well as G.I. disturbances, and a lot of heart palpitations and hypoglycemic episodes. So, you cannot just look at the weight alone as a single symptom, it really forms a bigger part of the whole catabolism picture. That of a body is breaking down its own integrity and its own framework, in order to generate energy. Now knowing this is very important because catabolism is a reversible state, but you have to know what is going on first and then how to structure a stabilization phase along with a recovery phase, and then plan a comprehensive program to reverse catabolism. If you don't reverse catabolism it can end up quite devastating, and muscle mass loss is only one of the beginning symptoms. Further symptoms can, as I said earlier, include the loss of the ability to take a deep breath, etc., and, of course, bedriddenness - becoming totally bedbound - can be the worst case scenario. You don't want to get there so if you think you have loss of muscle weight for no reason and loss of muscle mass, please do think of adrenal fatigue in advanced stages as one of the possibilities. One of the most common complaints of fatigue and symptoms of adrenal fatigue is the need to have food in order to avoid fatigue, brain fog, soon after a meal is taken. In this video, we will go over the mechanics of what happens in this for of hypoglycemia which we call reactive hypoglycemia. http://www.drlam.com/blog/signs-symptoms-hypoglycemia-despite-normal-lab-values/17404/ This is Dr. Lam, founder of DrLam.com. When the blood sugar is dropping then the term hypoglycemia is used. Usually clinically we see the laboratory value of sugar less than 60-70 mg per decimeter, but in the case of adrenal fatigue associated with hypoglycemic episodes, the blood sugar actually is normal. Now, we don't exactly know why this is happening, but we do know that there is a form of reactive type of hypoglycemia, a form of hypoglycemia that is called reactive hypoglycemia, I should be clearer, in that it is not the absolute level of blood sugar that decides whether you have symptoms or not; however, it is that you are of normal blood sugar, let's say 100-120 mg per decimeter to the 60-70 or even 80, so while you can have a blood sugar of 80 and be considered normal, the drop from 110-80 is what triggers the hypoglycemic symptoms. This is why it is called reactive hypoglycemia, and when you have this which is commonly associated with adrenal fatigue, laboratory tests will show normal. Now what you can do is to eat a bit more frequently, and that is the common thing to do, but you also want to not just simply eat but understand the physiology that this is the way your body is telling you that it is metabolically deranged and in need. You are not necessarily in a diabetic situation and you are not necessarily having a medical clinical diagnosis of hypoglycemia, but you have hypoglycemic symptoms, and laboratory results are normal. Now, eating small snacks is a good thing to do, repeat blood test is not usually productive, but reactive hypoglycemia is a sign of later stages of adrenal fatigue, and usually when that happens to you it is a sign that you have to look and see what else is going on. Usually, it also accompanied by brain fog, irritability, and at night time it can actually wake you up after you've been sleeping. During the day time, after lunch, you may have to find that you need a snack about two hours before, or afterwards I'm sorry, otherwise you will feel really draggy, and fatigued and slumpy. The same thing may happen in the morning around 10 am around 2 or 3 hours after breakfast, before lunch, you will then feel a sense that you really need food and if you don't have that food supply or the sugar boost then your body will feel very, very weak. These are classic signs of reactive hypoglycemia in the situation of adrenal fatigue. Now, it is very important also to check with your doctor to see that there are other forms of metabolic imbalances. Those people who have a family history of diabetes especially should be a little bit more careful because your body can react in different ways under those situations. But, if you really put the picture together clinically, in adrenal fatigue you can really sense the big picture, and that big picture is what counts it is not just the hypoglycemic episode on its own. Sometimes it can be accompanied as I said earlier with brain fog, heart palpitations, pain of unknown origin, insomnia, heart palpitations and arrhythmia, joint pains, etc., etc. So knowing this is one of the leads that bring us to adrenal fatigue and how to overcome this is something that we can deal with once we understand the physiology. Dementia is an umbrella term for a group of symptoms caused by disorders that affect the brain, including devastating diseases like the most common form of dementia, Alzheimer’s disease and lesser-known forms of dementia like Lewy body dementia. Even stroke can cause dementia. More than 5 million people in the U.S. alone are living with Alzheimer’s, so there’s a good chance you know someone affected by dementia. It can be very difficult to watch someone you love deal with symptoms of dementia, which often include memory loss and trouble with language, along with personality changes, delusions, agitation and less ability to solve problems or control their emotions. It’s important to note that although dementia risk increases with age, it is not part of the normal aging process. (1) With comprehensive treatments on the horizon, we can feel hopeful that integrative, personalized approaches could be the key to fighting this disease. In the meantime, though, it’s also important you take relatively simple steps to lower your risk of dementia now — before the disease has a chance to set in. Tune in now to hear about some unexpected causes of dementia and how small lifestyle changes you make today can naturally prevent dementia later in life! The most significant benefit of oatmeal — again, thanks to beta-glucan — is probably its role in lowering LDL (“bad”) cholesterol, which is linked to a decreased risk for heart disease. In fact, scientific support for the cholesterol-lowering effects of beta-glucans is so widespread, the FDA allows food manufacturers to make health claims on the packaging of foods like oatmeal. A container of Quaker Oats, for example, includes this statement: As part of a heart-healthy diet, the soluble fiber in oatmeal can help reduce cholesterol. Technically, pure oats are completely gluten-free; they don't contain gluten proteins at all. The key word here, though, is pure. Many oats are often grown (and transported) with some wheat: While oats are inherently gluten-free, conventional oats may be grown in conditions that introduce some gluten. Getting the right source is important if you’re gluten sensitive. Great for diabetics...The beta-glucans in oatmeal make sure sugar’s not absorbed too quickly by the body. This reduces blood sugar spikes and keeps your blood sugar levels stable. The soluble and insoluble fiber in oatmeal adds bulk to your stool and traps water to make your stool softer. Because soft and bulky stools tend to move more easily through your digestive tract, eating oatmeal can help keep you regular so you don't become constipated. Stress and Anxiety, It's Your Choice What can eat at your nervous system, break down your adrenal glands, hyper-stimulate your pancreas, which causes erratic up and down blood sugar swings, cause sleep deprivation, and eventually destroy relationships? You guessed it -- chronic stress and anxiety. It is nearly impossible to do anything about stress and anxiety until you identify and address the cause of the problem. It could be family, job, marriage, social problems, health or a multitude of other issues. While you are working out the cause of stress and anxiety you must take action to keep it in check. Prescription drugs should be a last resort. Chronic stress and anxiety breaks down the adrenal/pancreas function. Your body is constantly bombarded with adrenalin, making you more nervous and tense. The adrenalin attack signals your pancreas into an on and off syndrome of hyper-secreting insulin, followed by a temporary shutdown. This wreaks havoc on the blood sugar levels pushing you from hypoglycemia with all its symptoms to a diabetic state, back and forth, over and over. this may also be the reason one will gain wait around the middle that they just can't seem to lose. The only real answer is to turn off this syndrome at the cause but if you can't do that immediately, you can ease the effects with nutrition to supplement the glands most affected. Standard Process has products to support the adrenal glands, pancreas, and heart. The natural anti-stress product Drenamin, a mineral tranquilizer hypoglycemia , and heart destressor Cataplex G. Also add Blue Ice™ High Vitamin Cod Liver Oil daily as brain food. Sleep is imperative -- try two natural anti-insomnia products Catalyn and Min-Tran and don't forget to exercise - cardio and weightlifting are best. Hard exercise is a natural destressor. In addition to exercise, practice meditation or deep breathing -- nothing calms things down like a few deep cleansing breaths. In through the nose and out through the mouth. One other effective technique is the Tahiti Vacation Relaxation Technique. The worse thing to do with chronic stress and anxiety is nothing. After a long day, you owe it to your mind and body to give it the rest it deserves. For order the products listed above contact me. By Eliot LeBow LCSW When blood sugar is high or conversely too low, a diabetic will have distortions both mentally and physically. When blood sugar levels return to normal and reality kicks us right between the eyes, what then? Every situation is different. There are ways to prevent these distortions from happening or managing them, so less or no personal damage occurs. A few years back John was dating this beautiful woman. John would think about her all day. When John was with her, John was filled with excitement and delight. But something happened at the end of their 6th date. John always considered himself a manly man who could sustain an erection for hours on end, so erectile dysfunction was the furthest thing from his mind. Well, you probably know what happened next but let me move along and not belabor the point. This was an embarrassing and scary moment for John when he didn't have an erection. Luckily, she was really cool about it. The next day they went out to dinner and shared a great chocolate lava cake. John adjusted his insulin and thought things were going great, but in the back of his mind, his was still thinking about it and anxious. They got back to his place and set the mood; scented candles, soft jazz in the background and dim lighting. Everything was perfect except John. He was excited and eager, but he did not rise to the occasion. "What is wrong with me?" John thought to himself, and then a little voice in the back of his head answered him. John went to check his Blood Glucose (BG) levels. WOW!!! 390 -- John couldn't believe it! John calculated everything perfectly, but somewhere John missed it. Here's what John missed: • John missed the fact that they finished dinner an hour ago. It 's hard for insulin to burn off complex sugars like Chocolate Lava Cake, so his blood sugar went higher than normal for after dinner. • Next, John probably underestimated some carbohydrates in the meal itself. • Last, John was so stressed out about the previous night that his body was releasing excess Cortisol. Cortisol is a hormone released by stress. Anxiety activates cortisol (glucose) secretion, which releases it into the body. This can and does cause BG imbalances such as hyperglycemia. So John went around for several days worried that he was going to have to take Viagra to rise to the occasion. In reality, John just needed to test his blood sugar and wait. The next time they met, they watched a movie while waiting and enjoying their time together. A few hours later after making sure that his blood sugars had stabilized at 120, they tried again and no Erectile Dysfunction for this manly man this time. They did it right. In reality, the symptoms of diabetes can mimic other psychological and physical illnesses. Be careful and double check that what your patient is experiencing isn't diabetes-related. How to Prevent Heart Disease. About 610,000 people die from heart disease each year in the U.S. alone. There are tons of factors that can cause a person to develop heart problems, but most of them come down to poor lifestyle choices. Your body gives you warning signs early on so that you can catch an illness in its early stages or even prevent it altogether and save your life. Here are 10 of the most common red flags that indicate bad heart health. #heartproblems #healthyheart #bodysigns A cough that won't quit 1:38 A persistent cough can be a symptom of all kinds of health issues, and cardiovascular disease is one of them. For instance, a chronic cough that produces a pinkish bloody liquid is very common in people with heart failure. Despite what it sounds like, heart failure doesn't mean that the heart completely stops beating. It just means that a person’s heart isn’t pumping blood as well as it should be. As a result, the body doesn't get enough oxygen since it’s carried to all the tissues by the blood. Nausea and loss of appetite 3:07 A lot of heart disease patients show a lack of appetite, nausea, or both, even if they've had just a couple bites of food. The reason for that is built-up fluid around the liver and intestines that interferes with proper digestion. These symptoms are usually accompanied by abdominal pain, upset stomach, or feeling bloated. In fact, abdominal cramps that come and go in short spurts are extremely common right before a heart attack. Your skin becomes paler or takes on a bluish tint 5:28 Being naturally pale doesn’t necessarily mean you have a heart condition. But sudden paleness can be a result of reduced blood flow due to a heart that’s not pumping blood as effectively as it should be. Shock, which can be caused by any condition that prevents the blood in your body from circulating properly, is the main reason why people who are suffering from a heart attack or heart failure turn pale all of a sudden. Chronic or sudden fatigue 7:02 Fatigue can be one of the main symptoms indicating an impending heart attack. Women are more likely to experience heart-related fatigue than men, with 70% of female heart attack patients reporting that they’d felt extremely tired before their episode. Physical or mental activity isn't the reason for such exhaustion, and it increases by the end of the day if it’s due to a failing heart. It’s really hard for this symptom to go unnoticed. Sometimes it's exhausting just to perform even the simplest tasks, like making the bed or taking a shower. Music: The 126ers - Darkness of My Sun Density & Time - City of Jewels https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS 10. Pain that spreads to the arm 1:01 9. A cough that won't quit 1:38 8. Swollen legs, ankles, and feet 2:25 7. Nausea and loss of appetite 3:07 6. Extreme levels of anxiety 3:47 5. Lightheadedness or fainting 4:26 4. Your skin becomes paler or takes on a bluish tint 5:28 3. Skin rashes or unusual spots 6:20 2. Chronic or sudden fatigue 7:02 1. Increased perspiration 7:45 SUMMARY -If their heart isn’t working properly, a lot of men feel pain in their left arm, while women experience the same pain in either or both arms. -A persistent cough can be a symptom of all kinds of health issues, and cardiovascular disease is one of them. -When your heart isn’t pumping enough blood through the body, fluid from your blood vessels leaks into surrounding tissues. Your lower extremities are the most affected simply due to gravity. -A lot of heart disease patients show a lack of appetite, nausea, or both, even if they've had just a couple bites of food. -People who suffer from extreme anxiety from a very early age or most of their life are more prone to developing coronary heart disease. -Feeling lightheaded and experiencing temporary loss of consciousness, also known in the scientific community as “syncope”, is super common among heart patients. -Sudden paleness can be a result of reduced blood flow due to a heart that’s not pumping blood as effectively as it should be. -People with eczema were found to have a 48% chance of suffering from high blood pressure and a 29% possibility of having high cholesterol. -Sometimes it's exhausting just to perform even the simplest tasks, like making the bed or taking a shower before a heart attack. -People experience flu-like symptoms, have clammy skin, and sweat regardless of the air temperature or physical exertion. Improve Dopamine, Serotonin and Cortisol Levels - Get Happy & Reduce Depression & Worry 👉👉 http://drsam.co/yt/improveMindHealth #depression ==================================== 🧠 5 Common Foods That Cause Or Increase Depression ==================================== Most people don’t realize that your emotions can influence what you eat. For example, when you’re under extra stress (emotional or physical), your body and brain, will crave more sugar and carbohydrates. One reason is because it wants to help increase serotonin and dopamine levels. Women see this happen more often during their menstrual cycles due to their hormonal changes and thus, various cravings occur. However, what you eat can also influence your mood. So the reverse can happen And today I’m going to reveal 5 common foods that can decrease your mood, deplete your body, increase negative feelings and thus, even cause or increase depression. Thus, simple food changes, such as avoiding or limiting today’s 5 foods, can be the difference between feeling much worse or actually feeling more stable, better and happier. I’ll also give you alternative solutions. And this very important, especially considering that over 7% of the American population over the age of 18 is diagnosed with clinical depression. This does not take into account teenagers, which also deal with a lot of depression. This also does NOT take into account all the people who haven’t been tested, who haven’t sought out help or simply, they just feel really down or depressed… without the “official diagnoses”. So, if you’re feeling down or depressed, you’re not alone. And, it may not be your fault. It could be related to the foods you’re eating. There’s hope and at the end of today’s video, I’ll also give you a really effective solution that you can use to help rebalance and optimize brain chemicals, so you can feel happier and reduce feelings of depression, worry and anxiety. SUGAR Sugar and salt are found in almost all foods, especially those that taste good. However, in a 2015 study1, it revealed that the increase in added sugars in one’s diet, was associated with an increased likelihood of depression. In fact, there’s a correlation between depression, diabetes and dementia. And the researchers have discovered that when blood glucose levels are elevated, levels of a protein that encourages the growth of neurons and synapses, drops. Translation: The simple act of eating sugar makes your brain work at a suboptimal level—and the more you do it, the greater your risk of depression and the greater your risk of diabetes and dementia, too. SOLUTION: Just read the labels and limit “sugars” whenever possible, especially when you’re not feeling 100%. Artificial Sweeteners And this includes artificial sweeteners, especially Aspartame (NutraSweet or Equal), which is found in diet sodas and “no sugar” foods… Because it blocks the production of the neurotransmitter serotonin. This can cause various neuro and head problems such as headaches, insomnia, changes in mood—and yes, depression. SOLUTION: Avoid all artificial sweeteners. Instead, use natural ones such as Stevia, which is an herbal extract. Hydrogenated Oils Hydrogenated oils can be found in most fried foods, as well as packaged “junk” foods -- such as cookies, cakes, candies, chips, crackers, margarine and spreads. Hydrogenation happens when you take vegetable oils and you heat them or make them into solids. This also causes trans fats, which is the worst type of fat to consume. Now, I've simplified this process, leaving out the boring chemical stuff because the point is, you want to avoid these fats. Not only do they cause weight gain, inflammation and other physical problems - but they’re also linked to depression. SOLUTION: Read labels, avoid hydrogenated and trans fats. At home, it’s best to NOT heat or cook with vegetable or seed oils. Have those cold, like on a salad. If cooking, choose a saturated fat such as butter or better yet, coconut oil -- which happens to have health benefits for your body and mind. Alcohol Most people aren’t going to like hearing this, especially since Alcohol is the drug of choice when people are feeling “down” and hopeless. However, Alcohol is a depressant, and more specifically, depresses your central nervous system (CNS). … Which controls how you feel, physically and emotionally. It controls so many of your neurotransmitters (serotonin, dopamine, etc.) SOLUTION: Limit or avoid alcohol, especially when you’re feeling down, hopeless or depressed. It’s just going to make it worse! ======================================== Thank you for watching. Please feel free to comment, like or share with your friends. 7 causes of night sweats Waking up in the night hot and in a sweat is one of the most unpleasant feelings. These waves of intense heat can interrupt a good night's sleep and leave you feeling sluggish the next day. So understanding what could be causing your night sweats is the first step to treating them. Below we've listed some of the most common causes of night sweats. It's important to note, though, that your night sweats might be caused by the hot climate you're in, too many blankets or even a mattress that retains your body heat. If that's not the case, one of these seven causes might explain why you're experiencing night sweats. 1. Menopause Essentially, your night sweats could be night hot flashes. MedicineNet explains that women who are in the perimenopausal state often experience hot flashes, which can occur in the middle of the night, waking you in a hot sweat. 2. Medications Some medications might be causing you to wake up in a sweat. WebMD explains that certain antidepressants, psychiatric drugs and even aspirin can cause night sweats. Talk to your doctor about the medication you take to see if it could be causing your night-sweat symptoms. 3. Cancer Night sweats can be an early symptom of cancers like lymphoma. WebMD says other symptoms that usually accompany cancer-caused night sweats are unexplained weight loss and fever. 4. Infection MedicineNet says an infection like tuberculosis, an abscess, endocarditis (inflamed heart valves) or osteomyelitis (inflammation in the bones) can cause night sweats. Other serious infections, such as AIDS, can also cause night sweats. 5. Anxiety Stress and anxiety could be causing your body to sweat in the night. The Mayo Clinic says other symptoms of anxiety include nervousness, tension and sleep trouble. 6. Sleep disorders Destructive sleep apnea or another sleep disorder could be causing your night sweats. Other symptoms that can accompany destructive sleep disorder include waking abruptly to gasping or choking, daytime sleepiness and high blood pressure, among others. 7. Hypoglycemia Low blood sugar levels can cause sweating, according to MedicineNet. People with diabetes might experience night sweats due to hypoglycemia at night. __ Ascending the Vale Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 License http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/
