How t. o Activate Fat Burning Hormones in Just 4 Steps. Everyone wants to look attractive and fit, but losing and maintaining weight isn’t a simple task. Most diets don’t work, and people are always focused on the wrong aspect. In order to lose weight, you need to be consistent and patient. You could change your diet, be physically active, and control the portion size. All of this should work well in the long run. But sometimes, weight gain is caused by hormonal imbalance and pretty difficult to resolve. In this case, you should use a different approach. The food we eat has a direct impact on our hormones. And, one of the major factors for being overweight, is the stress hormone cortisol. Let's learn a simple 4-step approach, which will activate your fat-burning hormones, and help you lose weight with no side-effects. Step #1. A tight eating schedule. One of the major factors for losing weight, is to not eat after 7 PM. Your last meal should be at 4, or, 5 PM. You will help your body burn more fat by eating 3 small meals, or, 2 meals and a salad for dinner. Soft drinks are highly forbidden as is alcohol. Drink plenty of herbal teas and lemon water. Skipping meals is forbidden as well. You can go for early dinner, or late breakfast, but never skip a meal. Make sure the meals are homecooked, and always eat slowly, stopping when you’re feeling full. Step #2. Cut the sugar out from your diet. If you’re eating cookies, processed food, and starchy vegetables often, and drinking too much alcohol every day, you’re probably taking in too much sugar. These foods are rich in sugar and carbs, which can provide an energy boost. But, the body will use it, instead of burning your fat reserves, resulting in weight gain. Step #3. Light weight training As we mentioned at the beginning, if you want to lose weight, you need to start exercising as well. Experts recommend being physically active for at least half an hour every day. And light weight exercise is the ideal way of losing weight. This training will melt your fat reserves, and help you build new muscles. Start with a 10-minute cardio exercise, then go for some weight training. We suggest a few sets of each exercise, with a few minutes pause in between. Make sure to do the exercises until you feel your muscles strain. Step #4. Change your diet. You must start eating vegetables such as, beans, and greens more often. They are full of fiber, which will improve your digestion, and help you lose weight. You can eat veggies any way you like, fresh, boiled, steamed, or, made into a salad. Juicing fruit and vegetables is a great way of intaking essential nutrients. People who are suffering from high blood sugar levels can try juicing parsley, celery, kale, and spinach. If you’re looking to add more protein in your diet, you can go with cauliflower, asparagus, or, string beans. You can sweeten the juices up with some apples, carrots, and beats. and adding 2 tablespoons of flaxseeds in, will substitute a meal. When trying to lose weight, it’s best to substitute all animal protein with vegetable protein that can be found in legumes. Replace the butter with coconut oil, and the sunflower oil with olive oil. Reduce the consumption of carbs, and include whole grains in your diet. and always go for a half, instead of a full serving. The body needs proteins for the build of muscles and tissue. How to Lose Weight without Workouts. You might think the only reason why you gain weight is overeating, but in fact it can also be the result of your hormones being all out of whack. Triggers like stress, age, genes, and poor lifestyle choices can cause a hormonal imbalance that leads to weight problems. To get the perfect body and keep it slim and slender, you have to follow our simple tips and keep 9 hormones under control. Thyroid hormones 0:45 The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland at the base of the neck. It produces the hormones T3, T4, and calcitonin, which are responsible for maintaining the body’s metabolism. If the thyroid doesn’t produce enough of these hormones, a condition called hypothyroidism, the result is often weight gain. To keep it under control, consume iodized salt (or seaweed if you’re on a low-salt diet). Avoid processed foods. Take vitamin D supplements. Consume foods rich in zinc like oysters and pumpkin seeds. Insulin 1:32 Overconsuming processed foods, unhealthy snacks, alcohol, or artificially sweetened drinks can cause the body to develop a resistance to insulin. This means that muscle cells won’t recognize glucose-bound insulin, so all that extra glucose remains in the bloodstream where it doesn’t belong. This causes a spike in blood sugar levels, leading to weight gain and Type 2 diabetes. To avoid it, consume lots of leafy greens and seasonal fruits and veggies. Eat foods full of omega-3 fatty acids. Drink at least a gallon of water every day. Exercise a minimum of 4 hours a week. Testosterone 3:45 Testosterone is often considered a strictly male hormone, but it’s produced in women too. It helps burn fat, strengthen the bones and muscles, and improve the libido. Age and high stress can cause a significant decrease in testosterone levels in women, leading to a loss of bone density and muscle mass. Work-out regularly and focus on muscle-building exercises. It helps boost testosterone levels. Avoid alcohol. Take protein supplements. Get enough fiber in your diet with the help of whole-grain foods, pumpkin seeds, and flaxseed. Leptin 6:39 Leptin is a hormone that keeps the body’s energy levels balanced by keeping hunger at bay. But when we eat food rich in sugar, the oversupply of fructose gets converted to fat that gets deposited in the liver, belly, and other regions of the body. It’s these very fat cells that secrete leptin. With high leptin levels, the brain stops receiving signals that the body doesn’t need to eat at a particular moment. Avoid sugary foods. This makes you resistant to insulin, which causes a rise in blood glucose levels and leads to weight gain. -When leptin levels go up, the brain stops receiving signals that the body doesn’t need to eat at a particular moment. -Ghrelin stimulates the appetite and increases fat deposition. -Melatonin is a hormone that regulates your natural sleep-wake cycle. If we don’t get proper sleep, this healing process gets disrupted, which causes stress and ultimately leads to inflammation-induced weight gain. -Getting enough sleep, keeping a nutritionally balanced diet, drinking plenty of water, getting at least some physical exercise, and avoiding or limiting stress will keep your hormones under control. Estrogen and testosterone are the main sex hormones in females and males, but there are many other hormones in our body which control its functions. In order to maintain your health at higher level, you should know how hormones work. For instance, there are hormones that control hunger and weight loss and they are called insulin, lepton and cortical. You can boost the hormones associated with controlling hunger and losing weight by developing certain habits. Many people relate insulin to diabetes which is due to it determining if the blood sugar is used for immediate energy or stored fat. What you consume and how you consume it directly affects the insulin levels. Great amount of insulin is produced due to the consumption of too many carbs, and as a result, the cells are not able to absorb it and the liver converts it to fat. If you want to control your insulin levels, you should eat small meals that include high fiber grains, vegetables and lean meats every 2-3 hours. On the other hand, you should avoid or even eliminate white pasta, highly processed foods, bread and white sugar. Cortical which is known as the stress hormone affects the blood sugar. It also regulates the metabolism, and controls salt and water balance. For instance, when you are under some kind of stress, the cortisol encourages the body to store fat around the vital organs. As a result, this process releases dangerous fatty acids into the blood and then raises both cholesterol and insulin levels. Make sure to take a walk during your lunch break, in order to control levels of cortiosol, but also cut down caffeine, eat slowly and sleep minimum 7 hours. Leptin is yet another hormone which is also known as the hunger hormone and it is directly linked to body fat and obesity. It is released from fat cells. It is very powerful since it can affect the time of your body that requires to feel satiated on the long term. In order to keep it under control, you will need to avoid the consumption of sugary and processed foods, be more physically active and get full night rest. How your meals should look like?. You should eat small meals every 2-3 hours and they should consist of healthy fats, veggies and lean proteins. Beside healthy meals, you should also sleep 7-9 hours per night and stay away from processed and sugary foods. Lead a healthy life by controlling your weight and hunger hormones.

How to fix hormonal imbalance? Hormone balance plays an integral part in all these health concerns and countless others! Out-of-control hormones can have a serious impact on your quality of life. Some of the most common symptoms of hormonal imbalance are listed below. If any of them sound familiar, I strongly encourage you to visit your ND or MD, to investigate further. There’s a lot we can do to counteract out-of-whack hormones, and significantly increase your quality of life! 1. PERSISTENT WEIGHT GAIN Yes, you have make healthy dietary choices, and exercise, to maintain a healthy weight, but often when the weight game seems out of our control, there’s something going on beneath the surface. Some women may have underlying hormonal imbalances that make it much harder to maintain a healthy weight. Assessing for low thyroid, insulin resistance and adrenal function are some great first steps in the right direction. 2. BELLY FAT The adrenal glands are two small glands that sit on top of your kidneys and are the body’s main stress responders. When we are under constant stress for too long, the hormone cortisol is overproduced and causes the body to store fat for future use. This storage typically happens in the belly region and is usually a clue that the adrenals need some help. My favorite adrenal supportives include B vitamins, vitamin C, magnesium and adaptogenic herbs such as Rhodiola, ashwagandha and Siberian ginseng. 3. FATIGUE Dragging yourself out of bed every morning? Can’t function without coffee? Experiencing that mid-afternoon crash daily? Fatigue is probably one of the most common concerns I hear every day in clinical practice. Testing for low thyroid, low iron, low B12, adrenal fatigue, food intolerances can help isolate the right treatment for fatigue. As well, managing healthy blood sugars can stabilize energy levels keeping you vibrant and clear. 4. ANXIETY, DEPRESSION AND IRRITABILITY The quality of your moods is typically an indication of how balanced your hormones are. The health of the adrenal glands is an important foundation, as long-term stress and the overproduction of cortisol can have a profound effect on serotonin levels and therefore affect overall mood. Eliminating stimulants such as coffee, black tea, chocolate, and colas can lower anxiety. Keeping blood sugars balanced with adequate lean and healthy proteins throughout the day can also help to maintain healthy moods. 5. LOW LIBIDO A very common symptom of hormone imbalance is low libido. This is typically due to levels of the hormone testosterone, which change as we age due to menopause and andropause. Stress can also affect testosterone levels, so make sure your adrenal glands are well supported. 6. POOR SLEEP Insomnia can develop into a vicious cycle that usually starts with an underlying hormone imbalance involving the hallmark hormone of stress – you guessed it, cortisol. Using relaxation techniques such as meditation, yoga, deep breathing and Epsom salt baths can be nourishing to your nervous system. It’s also important to “unplug” at least 1-2 hours before your head hits your pillow. Shut those computers, iPads and phones off! If you still have difficulty turning your brain off late at night, try some GABA or L-theanine. Both of these supplements can be very useful for anxiety as well. Melatonin also works well for some to help re-set the sleep cycle, or until your cortisol levels normalize. 7. CRAVINGS Common causes of cravings are adrenal fatigue, insulin resistance, low serotonin or even an imbalance in gut flora! Identifying the cause will help target treatment, though minimizing refined sugars and excess alcohol and eliminating the processed foods will not only help control cravings regardless of the cause. Your digestive system will thank you as well! You also can’t go wrong with starting on a good probiotic: maintaining an abundance of good gut flora can also enhance your immune system, skin health, reduce food intolerances, and improve brain health. 8. HAIR LOSS Some common causes of thinning or loss of hair are: stress, low thyroid, autoimmune disease, low collagen production, B deficiencies, high testosterone, poor digestion or absorption, or low iron. So there you have it: all the ways hormone imbalance can show up in your body, and your lifestyle. Please note that many of the above symptoms can be linked to other physical problems, as well, so if you’ve noticed a few are showing up in your life, it’s a good idea to work with your health care provider. They can help you get to the root of what’s going on, and get you back to your more energetic, vibrant self!

5 Hormones Responsible For Weight Gain In Women | Hormonal Imbalance In Women Have you tried everything possible to lose weight but in vain? Why not get your hormones checked? These may be related to pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS), pregnancy, menopause or day to day stress. Thyroid, The thyroid gland, which is present at the base of your neck produces three hormones—T3, T4, and calcitonin. These hormones regulate metabolism, sleep, heart rate, growth, brain development, etc. Sometimes the thyroid gland under-produces the thyroid hormone leading to hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism is often associated with weight gain, depression, constipation, fatigue, high blood cholesterol, slow heart rate. 2. Insulin, Insulin is a hormone secreted by the pancreas, which helps to carry the glucose into the cells to be used as energy or to store them as fat. This helps maintain the glucose levels in the blood. Over consuming processed foods, alcohol, artificially sweetened drinks, and snacking on unhealthy foods (or even consuming too many fruits) can lead to insulin resistance. In this case, the muscle cells are not able to recognize glucose-bound insulin, and therefore glucose remains in the bloodstream causing a spike in blood sugar levels. This finally leads to weight gain and Type 2 diabetes. 3. Leptin, Under normal conditions, the hormone leptin signals that you are full and should stop eating. But due to overconsumption of foods that are high in sugar content such as candies, chocolates, fruits (that are modified to contain a lot more fructose), and processed foods, the oversupply of fructose is converted to fat that gets deposited in liver, belly and other regions of the body. Now, fat cells secrete leptin. As you keep consuming more fructose-containing foods, more fat gets accumulated, and more leptin is secreted. This, in turn, desensitizes the body to leptin and the brain stops receiving the signal to stop eating. This ultimately leads to weight gain. But exactly how can you know when all is not right with your hormones? Well, for the most, there are some common tell-tale signs to look out for. And of course, this video will let you in on up to 5 signs you wouldn't want to ignore. Let's get started! 1. Chronic Fatigue Do you find yourself feeling washed every now and then? And no, we're not talking about how you feel after a long day at work. It's more like that extreme tiredness that hits you for no reason whatsoever. A bodybuilder has revealed how her struggle with hormonal imbalance has altered her figure and weight.Amber Dawn Orton, 30, a personal trainer from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, took to her Instagram page to share how rising estrogen levels have caused her to gain seven pounds, bringing her to her heaviest weight in a year.The former fitness model who won her first bikini competition in 2010, wrote: 'Well along with the fatigue, sore joints, sore muscles, headaches, etc the last three days I have had HORRIBLE cramping and bloating.And what do you know... my weight just keeps going up and up and up.'Captioning a side-by-side photo of her weighing 129 pounds and 136 pounds, she added that despite upping her cardio and workouts and eating 2,500 calories per day instead of her usual 3,000 calories, she continued to gain weight.'The point is - HORMONES ARE A B***H,' she added.'And no matter how hard you try sometimes you can’t beat them. I have never dealt with bloating issues.
