Found some scrap pieces of metal and figured I need to make me the 3rd hand to hold 2 pieces quick while tac welding them together. The second one is a Mig torch holder where I can hang the torch while not in use. I just recently bought a MIG welder and since I haven't any experience with welding I need to practice on things that are easy to make but also useful in the future. Positive thinking “What is positive about your dad being away for a week?” - “No snoring!” - “There’s no smelly farts!” 3. Giving - ”You’re smart” -”You have pretty hair” - “He’s good at…” - “Dutch” - ”He eats very neatly” 4. Meditation “Close your eyes.. Place your feet against the floor… Straighten your back… And feel your breathing going in naturally… And going out naturally… Slowly you go down, to your ankles... “ 5. Confidence - “I’m strong and I can do it! I’m strong and I can do it! I’m strong and I can do it!” “Do you have a dream? Something that you would really like?” - “Yes!” - “That I have a thousand or many cats” - That I’m the greatest inventor on earth” Annemiek - teacher “The first thing I noticed… Is that the kids relax… Sit in their chairs satisfied Think differently And go home with a certain feeling that they then pass on to others. It creates a basis for the rest of your life. What is more important than how you approach life? I think as a teacher it’s very important to guide them with that.” After class, we asked the children to award a number to their happiness. - I think 10 - 100 - 10 - A billion or a million -4 4? Alright, so that’s not very happy. -I mean 10. I thought you meant lucky number Oh so 4 is your lucky number! But what is the number of your happiness right now? - That’s 10 Merijn – Happiness teacher I want to call on all the teachers today. Clases gratis de fotografía Бесплатные уроки фотографии 免费摄影课程 دروس التصوير الحر मुफ्त फोटोग्राफी सबक Aulas gratuitas de fotografia ফ্রি ফটোগ্রাফি পাঠ About a year ago I asked myself the questions; “If I were to die soon, what would have been the greatest photography course I could ever make to leave behind for generations to come & why would it be "great"?” I came to the conclusion, that it would be highly impactful to create a photography course that anyone in the world could watch and learn the basics of photography in under an hour. The tricky part, was getting around the language barriers, but I realized that if the lessons were physics & demonstration based, it might be possible. Numbers & the metric system are almost universal, so I allowed myself that exception, as well as using sounds, and other universal symbols. When I taught in college, something I learned was that students retained information far better, when there was an aspect of self-discovery. I wanted this self-discovery aspect in each lesson. One year later, this is my very best attempt to create a Universal Photography Course. Whether it is the World’s Greatest Photography Course or not remains to be seen, but in this format, I believe I have come very close, if not succeeded. I have no problems updating it either, so it will get better. If you think I did well, I would love a thumbs up! Wherever you may be, whatever language you may speak. It is my true privilege and honor to be your mentor. I don't have any plans on dying anytime soon, so until then.... Enjoy! :) Michael The Maven Dec 5, 2018 Clases gratis de fotografía Бесплатные уроки фотографии 免费摄影课程 دروس التصوير الحر मुफ्त फोटोग्राफी सबक Aulas gratuitas de fotografia ফ্রি ফটোগ্রাফি পাঠ 00:00 - Exposure 00:56 - Histograms 02:30 - Equivalence of Exposure 04:10 - Shutter Speeds 06:55 - Long Exposures - Low Light 07:39 - Long Exposures - Bright Light 08:32 - Focal Lengths 11:48 - Apertures 13:08 - Depth of Field - Aperture 13:46 - Depth of Field - Distance 14:24 - Depth of Field - Focal Length 15:05 - Depth of Field - Sensor Size 15:30 - Shooting Modes 17:14 - Exposure Compensation 17:41 - ISO 19:06 - Previsualization 20:27 - Composition Lessons 24:55 - Drive Modes 25:50 - White Balance 28:09 - Focusing Modes 29:55 - Recomposing 30:29 - Inverse Square Root of Light 31:33 - Light Quality 32:16 - Flash Power 34:11 - The 3 Rules of Ambient & Reflected Light 35:59 - Painting with Light 36:51 - Landscapes 37:19 - Sports 37:38 - Portraits 39:57 - Credits Music: "Max Flashback" by Lee Rosevere Album - Music For Podcasts Vol 1 From: www.fremusicarchive.org CC BY "I Believe In You" by Lee Rosevere Album - Music for Podcasts Vol 1 From: www.fremusicarchive.org CC BY "Going Home" by Lee Rosevere Album - Music for Podcasts Vol 1 From: www.fremusicarchive.org CC BY "Sad Marimba Planet" by Lee Rosevere Album - Music for Podcasts Vol 4 From: www.fremusicarchive.org CC BY "Credit Call" by Lee Rosevere Album - Music for Podcasts Vol 1 From: www.fremusicarchive.org CC BY "Vaping In L.A." by Lee Rosevere Album - Music for Podcasts Vol 4 From: www.fremusicarchive.org CC BY "High School Snaps" by Broke For Free Album - Slam Funk From: www.fremusicarchive.org CC BY "Arcade Montage" by Lee Rosevere Album - Music For Podcasts Vol 3 From: www.fremusicarchive.org CC BY "Lets Start at the Beginning" by Lee Rosevere Album - Music For Podcasts Vol 1 From: www.fremusicarchive.org CC BY "New Day" by Lee Rosevere Album - Music For Podcasts Vol 4 From: www.fremusicarchive.org CC BY "New Day" by Lee Rosevere Album - Music For Podcasts Vol 4 From: www.fremusicarchive.org CC BY "How I Used To See The Stars" by Lee Rosevere Album - Music For Podcasts Vol 4 From: www.fremusicarchive.org CC BY "The Great" by Broke For Free Album - Slam Funk From: www.fremusicarchive.org CC BY "Keeping Stuff Together" by Lee Rosevere Album - Music For Podcasts Vol 4 From: www.fremusicarchive.org CC BY "Start The Day" by Lee Rosevere Album - Music For Podcasts Vol 5 From: www.fremusicarchive.org CC BY "Evening Glow" by Lee Rosevere Album - Music For Podcasts Vol 2 From: www.fremusicarchive.org CC BY "Try Anything Once" by Lee Rosevere Album - Music For Podcasts Vol 2 From: www.fremusicarchive.org CC BY "Places Unseen" by Lee Rosevere Album - Music For Podcasts Vol 2 From: www.fremusicarchive.org CC BY "Our Ego" (feat Different Visitor) by Broke For Free Album - Slam Funk From: www.fremusicarchive.org CC BY

It is chock full of ideas on how we can all pitch in to take care of our earth and give example after example of how we can reduce, reuse, and recycle in our daily lives. The three R’s will be in the mind of all your students as they go home singing this catchy song - simply give it a listen and you’ll see why! Earth Day Song LYRICS: Verse 1: There are many ways we can take care of our Earth. Together, we can finally show her how much she is worth. For there is only one place that all of us call home. It is this pale blue dot of ours that we freely roam. We can take our cans and sort them into a different bin, and buy things with less packaging to score another win. Simple things, like less paper waste, stops pollution’s haste, allowing all to view Mother Nature’s perfect taste. Wash out jars, cans, and other recyclables so they're clean. That's a step as vital as using less polystyrene. Reusable bags and food containers make a lot of sense; it takes just a little thought to make a really big difference CHORUS: Let’s come together and show Mother Earth how much she’s worth. Think of future generations, for she's not just our earth! Let's ensure the world's survival, and reduce... reuse... and recycle! Verse 2: We can walk, instead of drive, to close places every day. Or ride a train or catch a bus if it's too far away. Sharing a car can limit emissions too, it’s true. Sometimes biking might be the best thing that you can do. There are always lots of chores that people need to get done. All that running around in cars is never really fun. If errands were combined and finished all in one trip, it would save some gas and carbon emissions would dip. Every effort we take to reduce the footprint we make, matters more than you think, because the whole world is at stake. Tiny snowflakes join into an avalanche with power. Saving energy counts, every single kilowatt hour. Verse 3: Fresh water is one of our most precious commodities. With little changes, we can make a big difference, you see. A "running faucet" isn’t trying to run away. It’s wasting water and "running" up your bill each day. We can also pay more attention to the foods we eat, 'cause some use lots of water to create that tasty treat. It takes hundreds of gallons for just one pound of beef. Smarter eating gives our world some much needed relief. That doesn’t mean we can never use water to have fun. It just means to be careful, not to let the faucet run. Sure, making changes to routines can sometimes seem tough, but life in a polluted world – that'd be pretty rough. CHORUS Verse 4: Changing an old light bulb is more than an epiphany. It’s also a good way that you conserve more energy. LEDs are just as bright and last many hours long, removing tons of emissions that really don’t belong. Turning lights off to save money won’t make anyone rich, but it’s so very easy to flip off an unused switch. It will help reduce the amount of energy used, ensuring our planet’s resources are not abused. We can change the business where we access our power source. Renewables reduce fossil fuels without losing energy force. Solar, wind, and hydro are some options: that’s just three. What other changes might make a better world for you and me? CHORUS Verse 5: We can clean out our air filters at home once in a while, so, that way, good indoor breathing can always be in style. Programmable thermostats set the "temp"when you’re gone, allowing Earth's fuels to continue pressing on. Our landfills are the places that take in our solid waste, where trash bag after trash bag, piled up high, seem to be placed. Composting is a way to reduce what's thrown away, giving us more land and space to go outside and play. A little thought and time each day is really all it takes, because there never really have been any higher stakes. Let’s show our Earth just how much we all think she's worth, so that all living creatures can experience rebirth.

#Wahthu Present r.c.c design and drawing is the main topic for about safe and durable structure. without r.c.c learn, structure can't build. Advantages of reinforced concrete Reinforced concrete also has greater compressive strength as compared to most other materials used for construction beside good in tension. It has better resistance to fire than steel and capable of resisting fire for a longer time. It has long service life with low maintenance cost In some types of structures, such as dams, piers, and footings, it is the most economical structural material It can be cast to take the shape required , making it widely used in pre-cast structural components It yields rigid members with minimum apparent deflection Yield strength of steel is about 15 times the compressive strength of structural concrete and well over 100 times its tensile strength By using steel, cross sectional dimesions of structural members can b ereduced e.g in lower floor columns Less skilled labor is required for erection of structures as compared to other materials such as structural steel. Disadvantages of reinforced concrete It needs mixing, casting and curing, all of which affect the final strength of concrete The cost of the forms used to cast concrete is relatively high It has low compressive strength as compared to steel (the ratio is about 1:10 depending on material) which leads to large sections in columns/beams of multistory buildings Cracks develop in concrete due to shrinkage and the application of live loads The design of a structure may be regarded as the process of selecting proper materials and proportioned elements of the structure, according to the art, engineering science, and technology. In order to fulfill its purpose, the structure must meet its conditions of safety, serviceability, economy and functionality. We're back to school! This year, Thomas is in 10th grade, Asher is 8th, Judah is 7th, Justus is 5th, Eden is 3rd and Solomon is 1st. Our first day of school is Justus' birthday so we take the day off and make the new first day on the 22nd of September. We spend the first day talking over our plans for the year and getting the kids' school binders in order. We see an Orb Weaver spider and make a Nature Notebook page. Tom gets his new iPhone that day, which is exciting. On Monday, we do school work in the morning and, after lunch, we put together some of the wooden toy kits that we've received from several of our YouTube friends. Asher, Judah and Solomon then go out to help Papa Gary and then come home to spend the rest of the afternoon playing with Camden and Hadley since my sister, Ami, has come for a visit and to bring Justus birthday presents. (They were out of town and had to miss the birthday party.) We're having a laundry crisis this week; somehow Judah's chore has went awry, so we've had to change around our shirt color routine until we get things straightened out. After the first few busy days of school, we've got several tired, grumpy kids (and a tired grumpy mom!) We spend Tuesday afternoon resting. The kids also enjoy the beautiful fall weather riding bikes and catching butterflies in the yard. The new air conditioning compressor in the van went out again, so we had to take the van back into the repair shop. Thankfully, it's under warranty so it didn't cost anything for the repair. We have to take Tom's car to the library (and I take it shopping on my monthly Walmart trip which will be shown in a separate video.) After I get home from shopping, we pick the apples from our apple tree and get 162 pounds! Grandma Kitty took Solomon and Sophia to spend the afternoon with her while I went shopping. She took them to Walmart to pick out some new clothes, to Burger King and then back to her house to play. She brings them home while we're picking apples. Finally, Tom and I go get the van which is all fixed again. We use ACE curriculum and always have since we began homeschooling Thomas when he was 3. www.andreamills.tv Mills Family P.O. How much does van life really cost? In this video we share a list of the most common expenses to include in a travel budget for anyone who plans to be living or travelling in a van. We also share a breakdown of our own expenses from the last 6 months we spent living in a van. ***For more tips about van life, check out our Guide to Van Life eBook here: https://www.exploringalternatives.ca/guide-to-van-life/ Some of our expenses are quite high, like our gas and repairs, while others are quite low, like our campground fees. Some people have been asking why our van repair costs are so high at $425 per month for 6 months and we probably should have explained that a little better. Sorry about that! Our total repairs for the year cost $2500 and since we we use the van almost 100% in the summer, we divided that by 6 months instead of spreading it out over the full 12 months in a year which is probably why $425/month sounds so incredibly expensive. In case it's more helpful, here is a breakdown of what we spent on repairs & maintenance in 2016: - Diagnostic + Battery Replacement: $276 - Oil & Filter Change: $51 - Diagnostic: $121 - Tie Rod Replacement and Steering Alignment: $900 - Caliper Replacement: $243 - Replacing Front Brakes: $752 - Oil Change & Fixing Loose Exhaust: $70 - Misc. Hardware: $137 TOTAL REPAIRS: $2550 Thanks for watching! http://www.learningconstruction.com Step by Step tutorial about how to read floor plans and blueprints. A floor plan (floorplan) in architecture and building engineering is a diagram, usually to scale, of the relationships between rooms, spaces and other physical features at one level of a structure. Dimensions are usually drawn between the walls to specify room sizes and wall lengths. Floor plans will also include details of fixtures like sinks, water heaters, furnaces, etc. Floor plans will include notes to specify finishes, construction methods, or symbols for electrical items. Similar to a map the orientation of the view is downward from above, but unlike a conventional map, a plan is understood to be drawn at a particular vertical position (commonly at about 3 feet above the floor). Objects below this level are seen, objects at this level are shown 'cut' in plan-section, and objects above this vertical position within the structure are omitted or shown dashed. Plan view or "planform" is defined as a vertical orthographic projection of an object on a horizontal plane, like a map. This video applies to a commercial or residential construction project.

Today, we’ll show you how we built our RV composting toilet. Though it’s a simple design, it definitely wasn’t easy to build. Like all other building projects, there was a ton of planning involved! Why did we choose a composting toilet over a regular RV toilet? There are many factors involved with our decision, but it mainly had to do with being completely self-sufficient and not having to deal with the dreaded “stinky slinky” (black water tank hose). Not only do composting toilets smell less and use zero water, they are also much easier to maintain. Why did we build it ourselves? As many of you will find, composting toilet manufacturers charge a crap ton (pun intended)! We decided to build our own for about $70 because purchasing one from a manufacturer can costs you well over $1,000. For that cost, we’ll happily use our own bucket, thank you very much :D Special shout out to Papa Justus and also our good friend Nate over at Hickman High School. History: Our Lady of Dolours Primary school was started in June, 1940, by Mgr. George Fernandes for the benefit of the underprivileged boys of the Parish. The school got the Recognition of the B.M.C and was registered as Our Lady of Dolours Parish – School Trust. Classes were first held in Mohamed Mansion, Gokhale Rd. South, and later to three rooms on the ground floor of the Ekbal Bldg. The first Head Mistress was Mrs. Ida Lawrence, followed by Ms. Elizabeth Lobo. Fr. George was transferred to Bulsar. Mgr. Vaz took over the school and thus, it became the Parish school. Fr. F.A. Mascarenhas was the Principal, followed by Fr. Theo Pereira and Fr. Frax Pereira. The school had gradually shifted to the church premises - the hall where meetings were held, and later when the nuns shifted (to Prabhadevi) from the building occupied by the convent girls school, all the classes were held in this building (1958). Fr. Frax who was Principal at that time, was to be transferred. He was of the opinion that secondary section of the school was necessary, Mgr. Vaz agreed and the secondary section, Class 5th was started on June 6, 1962. Mgr. Vaz wanted the Parish to remember that this was a gift from the church - Our Lady of Salvation hence the name - Our Lady of Salvation School which was under the same Trust - Our Lady of Dolours Trust. The first set was sent up for the S.S.C secured 96%. As our school was blessed with dedicated teachers, who gave of their best for the boys. Every year, a Whist Drive (100 tables) was organized to collect funds for books and clothes for the boys. Fr. Michael Paes was Principal, followed by Fr. Goducho and next Fr. Noel Britto, all catholic schools at the time had a qualified B. A., B. Ed. Priest Principal. In September, 1967, Cardinal Gracious invited the Christian Brothers to take charge of the Parish School. That was the beginning of the Christian Brothers in Dadar in October 1967. Bro. E.X. Leonard (Provincial) Bro. F. A. MacPhilemy, Bro. J. A. Keane and Bro. Foley met Mgr. Vaz to do preliminary work for the arrival of the brothers. On March 17th, Bro. Mac Philemy met the staff who wished him a Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Bro. Macphilemy and Bro. Curran, who arrived a few days later, lived at St. Michael’s, Mahim, while Bro. Mousley, the third Brother, lived at Don Bosco’s. In May, the Brothers shifted to the vacant flat in Pinto Villa. Mgr. Vaz had put up a small building across the road near the Cemetery, for the Primary School. It was in a bad shape. Bro. Mac Philemy personally supervised the repairs and the three Brothers shifted and occupied the small rooms on the first and second floor. True to his word, Bro. Curran trained the boys and staged “The Mikado” in October at the Ravindra Natya Mandir to a packed house. This became an annual feature of the school. The operas gave the boys a new lease of life and they began to stand out in society. By now, the strength of the school had increased. At the time the new church was being built, two sheds were put up alongside the church compound wall. Teachers and Boys had to wade through flooded paths and work under leading roofs. Fr. Theodore, now Msgr. Theodore Pereira was the Parish Priest. The original plan was to have the school along Cadell Road, the plot where the catering college now stands plans were drawn up when the Brothers first came, by Gregson Batley and king, but the plot was taken over by the B.M.C and given to the Catering College. The only available plot was the one adjoining the Cemetery where the Primary School was built. Mgr. Theodore went ahead and arranged for the present school building to be built.

ANCHOR: Like many street children in Jakarta, Qodir makes a living collecting garbage in the Indonesian capital. An elementary school diploma for him used to be just a dream, until he enrolled at a free school for street children. STORY: A group of activists have set up a makeshift school in one of Jakarta's crowded slums. It provides children and their parents with free lessons and practical training like sewing and motorbike repairs. In June last year, the school enrolled Qodir in the national examination for a junior high school. He says he plans to continue his school in an Islamic school. Nanda Dian Nusantara School is located in one of Jakarta's crowded slums, with dozens of children attending the school from neighbouring areas. Children sit on the floor and recite lessons twice a day, two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon. [Elvrina Diyanti, Volunteer Teacher]: "We adjusted the classes with their working hours after a discussion with students and their parents so that we can have more students in the class. We tried to make it very flexible." Elvrina added that it is not easy to teach the children who only come to school when they can. They cannot stick to the syllabus and the teachers have to be more patient. But for the students who could get an education at the school are very grateful. [Qodir, School Student]: "I am very happy that we have this school here, I hope it would be here forever." The foundation also teaches illiterate parents to read and provides job training such as sewing, cooking and other skills so they can earn extra income. There are now hundreds of free schools for children and women across the country.

Howard County Executive Allan H. Kittleman appointed 24 county residents to a new task force to review the county’s Adequate Public Facilities Ordinance (APFO), which has not been closely examined in more than a decade. Kittleman named Diane Mikulis, former Chair of the Howard County Board of Education, to head the task force. “Howard County has grown tremendously over the past two decades,” said Kittleman, who established the APFO Review Task Force through an Executive Order. “We’ve seen the population grow by 87,000 residents. We’ve added 21 new schools to accommodate more than 16,000 new students. Thousands of additional cars are on the roads. We are committed to preserving our excellent quality of life, which means we have to examine whether we are keeping pace with infrastructure and service needs.” The Adequate Public Facilities Ordinance was first adopted by the County Council in 1992. It provides a set of guidelines for the construction of schools, roads and other infrastructure needs and serves as a blueprint for governmental agencies in planning for the county’s future. The task force, which will begin meeting June 4, will consider the planning guidelines that indicate adequate development of school capacity, road capacity, public transportation, housing stock and other public facilities that may be appropriate. Over the past 20 years, the number of households in Howard County has increased from 79,260 in 1995 to 96,680 in 2005 to 110,370 in 2015. The Howard County Public School System reports that student population has grown from 37,547 in 1995 to 54,134 today. Eight county schools presently exceed 110 percent of their board-approved capacity. “Even though the pace of growth has slowed somewhat in recent years, it remains critical that we revisit the APFO to ensure its guidelines are adequate,” said Mikulis. “Roads, schools and -- more -- other public facilities must be able to serve the projected population. During my time on the Board of Education, I worked with the APFO charts to plan school construction – new schools and additions to older facilities. We may need to adjust the current charts and recommend changes to stay ahead of the curve.” APFO Review Task Force members include: • Task Force Chair Diane Mikulis, Former Chair, Howard County Board of Education • Task Force Vice-Chair Cole Schnorf, Senior Vice President & Director of Development, Manekin • Reginald Avery, Oakland Mills representative, Columbia Association/PTA Council • Marianne Brackney, community representative • Steven Breeden, Principal, SDC Group • Jeff Bronow, Division Chief of Research, Howard County Department of Planning and Zoning • Diane Butler, community representative • Richard Freas, Retired Deputy Chief, Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services • Heidi Gaash, community representative • Joel Gallihue, Manager of School Planning, Howard County Public School System • Anna Marie Gannon, Howard County educator • Alice Giles, Member, Howard County League of Women Voters • Dave Grabowski, Former Chair, Howard County Recreation & Parks Advisory Board • Abby Hendrix, Teacher, Montgomery County Public Schools • Stu Kohn, President, Howard County Citizens Association • Caryn Lasser, Strategic Planning Coordinator, Howard County Public School System • Brent Loveless, community representative • Lisa Markovitz, community representative • Christine O’Connor, Member, Howard County Board of Education • Paul Revelle, Board of Directors, Bridges to Housing Stability/Housing Advocate • Patty Smallwood, Real Estate Agent, The Smallwood Team • John Startt, President, JST Builders • Sharonlee Vogel, Former Chair, Howard County Transportation Board • Rick Wilson, Principal, Folly Quarter Middle School The APFO Review Task Force will meet twice monthly for six months and present recommendations for needed updates and improvements to the County Executive by December 1, 2015. “People often optimize for the role or for the company. The first thing I optimize for is who I will work with. Don’t bet on companies, bet on people,” Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber, told students at today’s View From The Top event. Khosrowshahi discussed his departure from Expedia and his approach to shifting company values at Uber to focus on diversity and inclusion. “An important factor in our change was setting a new culture and new norms,” he said. “We crowdsourced those norms and asked people – what kind of company do we want to be?” Khosroshahi advised students to let go of benchmarking via titles and salaries when it comes to career goals. “Have a theme but don’t get locked in. I’m always looking around to make sure my own biases don’t prevent me from seeing something great,” he said. “When you’re lucky enough to take that risk, jump!” Khosrowshahi was interviewed by Lepi Jha Fishman, MBA ’19.

The Building Skills Program offers detained youth an opportunity to learn tangible skills, build a foundation for their future, and explore their interest and aptitudes in the construction industry. The program, which began in August, 2014 at the High Desert Juvenile Detention and Assessment Center, is a collaboration between the Probation Department and the San Bernardino County Superintendent of School’s ROP Program. Participants learn to develop skills in heating, ventilating, and air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, weatherization - which includes duct work, insulation, energy saving techniques, and water efficiency - and estimation. They also get background on the construction trade and learn about workplace safety. A mock sink and toilet are set up inside a classroom for youth to work on, as well as a scaled down house and an electrical box. At each station the participants learn hands-on installation and/or repair techniques, watch videos, and get step-by-step lessons. In addition to learning techniques to use in the community, the Building Skills Program allows participants to earn high school credit and completion certificates. The classes, which are scheduled to last an hour and a half to two hours Monday through Friday, are available to both boys and girls. Students work in teams of two to complete each session of training activities and each Building Skills station provides 10 hours of instruction and combined hands-on activities. A Probation Corrections Officer and a teacher facilitate each class. Earlier this month, the National Association of Counties (NACo) awarded San Bernardino County a 2015 Achievement Award for the Building Skills Program.

School District 203 is trying to improve both its physical space and cyberspace, all to bring more opportunities for students. At their latest board of education meeting, Superintendent Dan bridges outlined plans to test prototype classrooms at Elmwood and Prairie Elementary schools, Madison Jr. High, and Naperville Central High School. Bridges also said the district may test flexible libraries at Beebe Elementary and Jefferson Junior High. Flexibility and small group spaces were key elements the community asked for during last year's future focus engagement sessions. The district conducted a study on all of its buildings, which resulted in most of them not needing maintenance or repairs until at least six to ten years out. Board members also approved of an intergovernmental agreement with two other districts to offer the Expanded Learning Opportunities or ELO program. Under the agreement, District 203, Indian Prairie District 204 and Wheaton-Warrenville District 200 will share resources to offer online courses for their high schoolers this fall. Participating students can choose whether to take those online courses at home or from school and they'd still be tested and graded like they would in a brick and mortar classroom. District 203 will offer the program to 105 students and each participating district will contribute $85,000 for start-up costs, including pay for new management.
