Once we leave the teenage years, we may think acne is a thing of the past. But later in life, an imbalance of hormones can shake things up and acne takes center stage again. An endocrine imbalance is the culprit responsible for triggering hormonal acne. Women in mid-cycle and/or right before their periods are easy prey. These are the two times a month when estrogen and testosterone spike. These two hormones can accumulate if not properly detoxed. And when estrogen dominates, the complexion is fertile ground where inflamed skin and acne can thrive. Luckily there is a natural solution that may provide relief. The first step is to pay attention to your diet. The food you ingest can disrupt your hormones which in turns, produces inflammation. But on the flip side, the right kinds of food can balance hormones and soothe your skin. In today’s video we’ll examine the foods which work for and against your hormones. Foods to Avoid 1. Soy Soy has been on the suspect list of instigating acne. If you think you are sensitive to soy, try eliminating it from your diet and see if your condition improves. It contains phytoestrogens which can create a hormonal imbalance. 2. Dairy Excess dairy consumption can contribute to a surplus of hormones that can lead to acne. Dairy is also a primary cause for leaky guy syndrome. 3. Gluten Like dairy, Gluten can disrupt hormones. It can create intestinal inflammation and produce a domino effect of health issues. 4. Caffeine Caffeine is a kick-starter for millions every morning. Yet it often comes with a tradeoff. It can take its toll on your skin’s immune response. A steady combination of coffee and tea can strip away many essential vitamins which are essential to maintaining a vibrant complexion. 5. Canola, Sunflower, Safflower and Vegetable Oil If you have acne-prone skin, put these oils on your radar as ones to avoid. They have certain nutrients that can ignite a fire storm on your complexion, especially during peak estrogen days. The Best Foods for Your Complexion 1. Avocados Avocados contain a substance that can bring hormone levels back under control. Adding avocados to your diet can be a natural defense system to ward off inflammation. 2. Turmeric Another spice you may already have in your kitchen cabinets is Turmeric. Besides its natural ability to reduce inflammation, pain and swelling, it’s also a remedy for your skin. 3. Chia Seeds One of the highest sources of omega-3’s in nature can be found in this gluten-free grain. These little marvels can stabilize blood sugar, improve insulin sensitivity and keep blood pressure spikes in check. 4. Cinnamon In your spice rack, you may already have a secret weapon. Cinnamon. This aromatic spice contains anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties that help regulate hormones. 5. Pomegranates Mood swings can be tempered by eating Pomegranates. They produce the same estrogens that female ovaries do. They also are rich in anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. -------------------------------------------------------- Disclaimer: The materials and the information contained on Natural Cures channel are provided for general and educational purposes only and do not constitute any legal, medical or other professional advice on any subject matter. While some people say that the internet basically brings out the worst in people, there are some parts of the old cyberspace that are actually beneficial to society. Take-Out food has been around for hundreds of years, and in medieval London, you could buy anything from hot meat pies to sheep’s feet and French wine from street vendors. In Paris you could purchase tarts, cheese, eggs and roasted meat from the side of the road too. It was popular amongst the poor, as many of them didn’t have their own kitchens at home. The fast food game has changed tremendously, and today we have a look at some hacks that could save you money and make your tummy very happy! Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr Watch our "Evidence That Aliens HAVE Visited Earth " video here:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iL227eb9FSI Watch our "CRAZY Ideas That Actually Worked!" video here- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0n2wEAiOcg Watch our UNBELIEVABLE Items Found After Tsunamis !" video here- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNNLwdBI7Gk 13 - Drink Up… Nothing beats eating Nutella straight from the jar… except for maybe this “Nutella” coffee from Starbucks! It’s called a Café Misto, and it’s made by using one pump of chocolate and one pump of hazelnut and a little caramel drizzle for luck. It’s like drinking your Nutella in coffee form. 12 - Tight budget… Keen to save $1.19 and still enjoy a meal at Arby’s? Get 2 Junior roast beef sandwiches instead of the classic roast beef sandwich and you get the same amount of food with the additional saving! Also check the back of your receipt, there may be a number there and you can call it to complete a survey. Once done, head back in line to get your free sandwich! 11 - Sink your teeth into this… No doubt about it, Philly Cheese Steaks from Subway are delicious, but up your intake by ordering a Double Steak and Cheese. Same Sandwich, more meat and saves your $1.50! 10 - Meat meat, a man must eat… Who’s going to say no to a little extra meat in their Chipotle without the extra cost? Order half chicken and half beef and you’ll get your order jampacked with meat without the additional charges! 9 - Taste the same… If you’re heading to Jack in the Box, order 2 Junior bacon cheeseburgers and combine the two, and you’re left with a much more affordable Bacon ultimate cheese burger! 8 - Kid for a day… It can work out quite pricy to eat at Panda’s, so next time order off the kid’s menu. The portions are honestly not that small, plus you get something to drink and a cookie! Totally worth it! 7 - Excellent combination… At one point in time you could order a wickedly good combination at certain Shake Shack locations. It was the peanut butter burger, but due to concerns over peanut allergies, they took it off their menu. However, don’t despair, you can order one although it may not look like the original! Go to Shake Shack, order a Shack burger with bacon and ask for a side of peanut butter spread. You know what to do from there… and don’t be surprised if everyone behind you in line starts ordering the same! 6 - In pizza we crust… So, you’re a vegan and your friends love pizza… no problem! Domino’s and Pizza Hut offer meat-free options, and on their thin n crispy menu they have options with no cheese plus crusts made without dairy! 5 - Go better together… That’s chicken and waffles, and if this is your type of food, head to McDonalds and order a McGriddle of their breakfast menu. This option is made by replacing the sausage and bacon with a fried chicken patty and don’t forget the syrup! So many people order this combination, it’s surprising they haven’t added it to their menu as a standard option. 4 - A little extra in your pocket… Keen to save up to $10 when ordering pizza? Order a large carryout 3-topping pizza and ask for ham, bacon and pineapple. You pretty much have an Hawaiian pizza just without the Parmesan asiago and roasted red peppers. Order those as additional toppings, and it works out way cheaper! 3 - Worth a try… You can try this one with any pizza place. Give them a call to find out if there were any orders that weren’t collected or delivered, and you’re bound to pick up the pizza at a discounted rate! 2 - Keep it cool… Iced coffees are the perfect refresher in the summer, and here’s a way to save $1.60! Go to Starbucks and order one shot of espresso in a cup of ice. Add your own milk and sugar at the sugar station, and you have a perfect iced coffee. Bonus – you can add less sugar, making the beverage slightly healthier too! 1...

Chef Joel Shaefer makes a recipe from his upcoming cookbook, "Cooking with the Allergy Chef." Chicken Fried Steak originated in the 20th century in Texas where the steak was prepared like fried chicken and served with a peppery white sauce. Our version is a little different, because the meat is pan-fried instead of deep-fried. To make life easier, we substituted hamburger patties for tenderized cube steaks. This recipe is free of the top eight food allergens. Ingredients 2 cups gluten-free flour blend 2 teaspoons dried thyme, crushed 2 teaspoons dried oregano, crushed 2 teaspoons black pepper 1 tablespoon kosher salt 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper 2 large eggs, whisked (OPTIONAL) ¾ cup alternative milk, such as unsweetened almond, soy or hemp 4 (4-ounce) hamburger patties ¼ cup vegetable oil for pan-frying Southwestern Cheeze Sauce (see page…) Method 1. Prepare Southwestern Cheeze Sauce (recipe below). Keep warm. 2. Preheat oven to 425°F. 3. In a mixing bowl, combine gluten-free flour blend, thyme, oregano, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper; mix together with a whisk. Divide into 2 pans. Set aside. 4. In a medium bowl, whisk eggs and add milk. Place in a pan and set aside. 5. Taking one piece of meat at a time, coat in first pan of seasoned flour. Shake off excess flour and dip into liquid mixture to coat all sides. Let excess liquid drip off meat. Place in second pan of seasoned flour and coat evenly, pressing flour on all sides. 6. Place on sheet pan lined with foil. Repeat above steps with remaining 3 pieces of meat. 7. Heat oil in sauté pan over medium-high heat. When oil begins to shimmer, add 2 pieces of meat. Cook for 2 minutes on each side, turning with tongs. Return meat to sheet pan. Repeat procedure with remaining 2 pieces of meat. 8. When all meat is browned, place in oven and bake for 5 minutes. 9. Transfer meat to a serving plate and top each steak with ¼ cup of cheese sauce. YIELDS: 4 SERVINGS. What is MSG? The Truth about Monosodium Glutamate- Thomas DeLauer… How does it affect the body? I'll teach you a bit about the Chinese food taste enhancer http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com What is MSG? -MSG (monosodium glutamate) is a flavor enhancer commonly used in canned food, processed food, fast food, as well as Chinese food (1). Free glutamate exists in many natural foods and it can combine with sodium to produce MSG. Glutamate can be found in tomatoes, parmesan, peas and mushrooms. (4) -MSG simply makes food taste better - it increases their umami quality, making people rate foods that are higher in MSG as tasting better. Sugars and fats do a similar thing. (3) -In studies MSG has been tied to headaches, dizziness and other feeling of unease known as “Chinese restaurant syndrome” (3). -One study on mice looked into why this happens and if there are ways to limit the side effects (1). -Consumption of MSG caused swelling and cell-death of neurons, and the level of swelling and death was directly correlated with quantity. -Pre-exposure to small amounts of MSG as well as vitamin C decreased the levels of cell death. -Another study on humans took 61 self-proclaimed MSG-sensitive individuals and compared MSG to placebo. Compared to a placebo, MSG was found to be associated with headache, muscle tightness, numbness/tingling, general weakness and fatigue (2) Try to limit processed and fast foods when you can. If you must consume these foods, increase your daily intake of vitamin C with fruits such as oranges, mangos, vitamins and melons. References: 1. Tropical Mango Milk shake--Made with sweet juicy fresh Mango slices, natural Yoghurt and lite low calorie coconut milk. You will need: Wide top milkshake container Electric Blender 1 spatula 1 cup coconut milk (lite low calorie) 1/2 cup mango slices 1/2 cup plain yoghurt 1 tspn honey 1/3 cup ice 1/3 cup water Blend for about 30 seconds and its done! Refrigerate excess and you pup can enjoy this delicious tropical dog shake again tomorrow! There are many "people foods" that are safe and healthy for dogs. We chose fresh mangoes, yoghurt and coconut milk with a little ice and added them to the blender. Greek yogurt is our choice of natural yoghurt as its high in calcium and protein. Make sure to use a plain yogurt that contains little sugar as possible. To make the shake a thicker consistency freeze the mango slices before hand. Even though many fruits are healthy for dogs they need to be given in small amounts and not every day. Fruit is a good addition to as part of a healthy balanced diet. Dogs can and do eat fruit. Wild dogs, foxes, and dingoes -- all eat fruit. It is a totally natural food as our dogs are omnivores. They can eat anything as long as we avoid fruits on the toxic list -- (see our channel "Toxic Foods" video) apple seeds, grapes and raisins. Raw fruit is excellent as another nutritious part of your dog's diet. Make sure the fruit is very ripe -- or even over ripe, as it will not cause digestive problems. Always remove the green bits - stalks, stems, leaves, pips or seeds. Re Dairy Milk: Some but not all dogs cannot digest milk sugar or lactose and will get diarrhea. Lactose free milk can be used instead and is commonly found on supermarket shelves -- or dry milk powder can be found in many health food shops. Coconut Milk (use low cal) is rich in numerous minerals and can be used as an alternative to lactose free dairy milk Honey: Is rich in many nutrients such as sugars, enzymes, minerals (magnesium, Potassium) and B Vitamins. It is an excellent source of instant energy for mothers, sick dogs, young dogs, and old dogs in diabetic crises etc. It has anti-inflammatory properties, is anti bacterial and is generally beneficial for your dog. Pets with allergies can benefit from a little honey each day just as we do. Mangoes may very well be the kings of all fruits. They fight cancer, alkalize the body, aid in weight loss, regulate diabetes, help digestion, good for skin health, and make the perfect snack. Dogs can eat mango slices - they contain enzymes for breaking down protein -- and the fiber in mangoes also helps digestion and elimination. The vitamin C and vitamin A in mangoes, keep the immune system healthy and strong. Avoid giving your pup the mango pit as it can get stuck in his digestive system. Just give him the flesh of the fruit. Yoghurt: Plain yoghurt with the living culture present is an excellent food for dogs. It is a live food and an excellent source of calcium, high-class protein, and vitamins B & AS enzymes and energy as carbohydrates, protein and fat. Basically it is milk that has had the milk sugar in it converted to lactic acid by a bacterial culture. It is the presence of this culture that gives yoghurt some of its most important health giving properties for your dog. The bacteria in yoghurt are friendly bacteria and can be used to normalize dogs with diarrhea. The live yoghurt may be well tolerated due to lower lactose content than yoghurt without the live cultures. If your dog needs antibiotics -- feed it yoghurt as it protects against the killing effect that antibiotics have on the normal bowel bacteria. Yoghurt can be added to any dog's food -- whether sick or well. At Cooking For Dogs, we showcase weekly videos on cooking, grooming, crafts, activities and outfits for your Dog! Because regardless of what we're trying to do, getting the best protein sources (plant or animal) into our diet is a staple of our overall fitness. But that's the hard part, right? What are the best protein sources? Because not all protein sources are created equal. Some are lean and some are high and fat. Some are only good choices if you get them from a quality source, while others are less risky. But how do you make sense of it all? Well, it starts with the in-depth look in this video at all the best protein sources and the different categories you can find them in. ** Best Whole Food Protein Sources (2:41) When it comes to whole food protein sources, one of our absolute favorites is fish, especially for weight loss. And the main reason is because it has a relatively high ratio of proteins to fats. For every 3oz of salmon there's around 17gs of protein and roughly 5gs of fat. Whereas something like a 3oz sirloin steak might have 23gs of protein but around 12gs of fat. Now, as with any animal product, make sure the fish comes from a quality source. And it's also a good idea to stay away from eating larger fish like swordfish and tuna because of their higher mercury levels. More notable whole food protein sources: - Pasture-raised eggs/egg whites (contain l-leucine that stimulates muscle growth) - Grass fed ground beef - Pasture-raised organic chicken For some quick & easy recipes get your FREE 1-Day Meal Plan here → http://www.fitfatherproject.com/get-free-meal-plan ** The Best Protein Powders and Supplements (5:30) Now, if you’re looking for a more convenient protein source to fit into your busy schedule, these are a great choice. While not necessary, protein shakes are a great way to hit your protein target each day without having to prepare a meal. When choosing the best protein powder for you, the first thing to consider is that there are 3 main types. Whey, casein and plant protein. They're all effective sources of protein, but some studies show that both casein and whey protein can have negative effects, especially for those with a dairy allergy. Here are our favorite protein powders: - Whey Protein- Optimum Nutrition's Gold Standard (1-5lb bottles available) - https://amzn.to/2MQAvOM - Plant-Based Protein: Vega Protein & Greens (Large bottle has ~1 month worth of servings) - https://amzn.to/2PdWocA For more details on these, click here: https://fit-father-project.helpscoutdocs.com/article/48-best-protein NOTICE: Daily protein target for muscle building (0.8-1g of protein per 1lb of body weight (0.45 kg)). Alternative & Snack Food Sources (9:19) Some other great protein sources that are also convenient (but not necessarily pure protein) are things like nuts and seeds. They're portable, require zero preparation and are filled with the right kind of protein and healthy fats we want in our diet. If you want to use nuts as a daily snack for weight loss, don't eat much more than a 1/4 serving (roughly a cupped handful, 1oz). And the reason is because of that high fat content . While they are good fats, eating any more than 1/4 cup is gonna have at least 15gs of fat which can really set you back. So if your goal is weight loss, make sure you’re aware of that. More notable recommendations include: - Black Beans - Hemp seeds - High quality jerky So, the big take away is this. There are a ton of great protein sources out there. And we believe the best approach is to try and incorporate them all (with the exception of animal products for vegetarians and vegans). And if you want even more help putting together your proper diet that incorporates all these protein sources in the right way, then download your free 1-day meal plan below to see how it’s done. Watch more Newborn & Baby Development videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/506145-12-Infant-Nutrition-Dos-and-Donts-Baby-Development All babies are either drinking breast milk or infant formula exclusively until four months of age. We do not recommend starting solid foods before four months of age. Ideally, a breastfed infant will not start solid foods until six months of age. Some formula fed babies do start cereals at four months of age. We recommend starting with a rice cereal and then trying an oatmeal cereal and then the baby can progress to fruits and vegetables. There's not many do's and don'ts. Babies can have most fruits and vegetables. At six months infants who are breastfed usually start eating solids, so their solid schedule's a little bit delayed compared to a formula fed baby, but they're doing the same pattern. We recommend fruits and vegetables, Stage One's, that are blended. If you make it at home it has to be very soupy and blended. At six months of age babies can also do blended meats, depending on the parents. So you can do beef, chicken, turkey, veal, lamb. Those are all very hypoallergenic foods as long as they're blended and mashed for the baby. We do not recommend giving fish to babies at this age because there can be bones in the fish, and also fish is a more allergic food, so I like to start a light flaky fish around nine months of age, and it has to be very mashed to make sure that there's no bones in the fish. Babies cannot have honey until age one. Babies cannot have any kind of peanut or choking nut until age three because they can swallow it whole and aspirate it into their lung. There's a very large range of literature regarding food allergies in babies. So some pediatricians say, “Just give the baby everything. Eggs, milk products, like yogurt and cheese.” From six months there's no studies that show that delaying these foods will prevent food allergies. And some pediatricians still like to stage the introduction of more allergic foods, like yogurts and cheeses, till nine months of age, and start eggs after nine months of age. Some pediatricians recommend separating, and giving the egg yolk first at nine months, and then a week later try the egg white and once you know your baby's not allergic to the egg white and the egg yolk, then you can give the whole egg altogether. Some pediatricians don't like to introduce peanut or nut flavor until after one or two years. I personally, if you don't have a family history of food allergies, I don't mind starting nut flavoring before one year of age, as long as there's no nuts in the food. If I see a baby's had signs of atopic dermatitis, which is eczema or rashes, or been a sensitive child, I might individually design a food schedule for that family to delay highly allergic foods to be introduced later on. Every pediatrician is different. Every family is different. Every culture is different, so it's really important to discuss this with your pediatrician and find out what the best pattern is for your child.

Hi, I'm Robin Nielsen, the Chief Wellness Officer here at Insulite Health. I’m so glad you’re here. We get to do a little cooking today! Did you know that BONE BROTH is all the rage right now? Let me tell you why. You know it’s always been a really good thing. But just recently it’s almost like it’s been re-discovered. Sort of like vegetables, and fermented foods. It’s so good for us! There’s a South American proverb that says “Good broth will resurrect the dead.” It is known as a cure-all in traditional households and the magic ingredient in classic gourmet cuisine. Bone broth, broth made from chicken, fish, lamb or beef bones can boost the immune system – making it less likely that we’ll get sick. It can improve joint health, heal the digestive tract, reduce cellulite – ooo we love that!, and help us to overcome food allergies and intolerances. It can also improve allergies, asthma and arthritis. Wow! Bone broth contains amazing nutrients like calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, silicon, sulphur and more, in easy to absorb forms. It also contains amino acids that help us to build strong bodies, collagen, gelatin, proline, glycine and glutamine that have the power to transform your health. That’s really the secret in chicken soup when we’re sick. I bet you’re wanting a steaming hot mug of it right now! Oh and by the way, you can make soups from it and add it stews or anything that made need a little extra liquid. Here’s how to make beef bone broth, but it’s the same for using chicken bones, lamb bones or fish bones. You can even use a combination! Are you suffering from symptoms of PCOS? As amino acids come into contact with the lining of your small intestine, transporters carry them through the intestinal lining, where two things can happen: They can gain access to your bloodstream or they can be used by tissues in your gut. Whichever path they take, proteins are now successfully absorbed. More than 90 percent of all the protein you consume is absorbed. Absorption Rate Amino acids are absorbed at the rate of 1.3 grams to 10 grams an hour. A large percentage is absorbed because partially digested food is in the small intestine for hours. In addition to your overall health, several factors influence the absorption rate. Protein drinks are absorbed more rapidly than protein consumed with fiber-containing foods because fiber slows down nutrient absorption. Protein hydrolysates, which are proteins broken into smaller pieces of amino acids, are absorbed more quickly than whole proteins. Whey protein is absorbed at a fast pace, while casein is digested at a moderate rate. Amount for Muscles When researchers studied the effect of protein-rich meals on muscle protein synthesis, they found that eating 113 grams of lean beef boosted muscle protein synthesis by 50 percent. A larger portion of beef failed to increase protein production in muscles. Your muscles won't use more than 30 grams of protein consumed at one meal, according to the researcher's report in the September 2009 issue of the “Journal of the American Dietetic Association.” Another study published in the “American Journal of Physiology” in April 2012 concluded that 35 grams of whey protein at one meal resulted in greater protein absorption and muscle protein synthesis than portions of 10 grams or 20 grams. Daily Recommendations Your daily protein needs depend on your health and activity level. Women should consume 46 grams of protein daily, and men need 56 grams, as long as they’re not involved in athletic activities. For power and endurance athletes, protein recommendations range from 84 grams to 119 grams daily for men and 66 grams to 94 grams for women. If you’re trying to build muscles, you’ll stimulate 24-hour muscle protein synthesis by consuming your protein at several meals throughout the day preparing for the building of your muscles.
