I recently built this 454. It is mostly stock with the exception of Eagle 4 bolt main cap conversion and ARP studs. Some of the internals include GM 8:1 pistons on 3/8 rods, GM cast crank, .030 bore, GM/Mercruiser cam (same as used in 454/330hp Merc. engine), double roller timing set, and small oval port heads with bronze guides. Everything in the engine is brand new and as I said in the video, it would make a sweet street rod, pickup, boat or even garden tractor engine.

We had a water leak prior to start the engine... So it was a very smoggy experience to fire it up with all the humidity. Also had an exhaust leak (fixed right after the video), but damn... IT'S ALIVE !

350 Chevy 2 Bolt and 4 bolt Comparison. No way to tell the difference on the outside. No Numbers will tell you. Only looking at the mains will show. Large 1 ton trucks (3500GVW) and Corvettes will have the 4 bolt version. Most other cars and trucks will have the 2 bolt version. Car versions are factory roller cam. Look under the intake manifold you find the roller lifter hold down. Removing oil pan only way to tell if its 4 bolt main. Factory roller 4 bolt main blocks are rare, you can purchase one from summit racing quite reasonable about 800 US Dollars at present. Take at look at my T Bucket Video for the end result of the 4 bolt build. Over 600HP 12 Lbs boost with new 6:71 Weiand.

This is the engine that was in my Front Engine dragster, and ran in a 8.0 index in. We have built a new engine to run in the 7.0 Index. It was completely rebuilt from a bare block after the second race of this season and run in the remaining four races. The engine runs perfect and took me to third place overall in the ProComp class of the NDRL series. I have developed a list of parts in the engine. Starting from the top and working my way down. But First. Fuel pump was calibrated by Spud Miller of Fuel Injection Enterprises. He provided the initial Tune and that documentation is include in the sale. In addition my tune notes are also included and they are for tuning to an 8.0 index. Engine was dynoed by Engine Performance Specialties at 811 HP and had to be detuned to run 8.0 at 166 MPH. My best guess is we are running at 713 HP. See picture below. The engine was torn down to a bare block June of this year (2017) new billet four bolt main ProLine caps, Clevite bearings, Venolia aluminum rods, Eagle forged Crankshaft were installed. The engine was line honed by Freedom Racing Engines in Brownsburg In. Since then the engine has been in my Front Engine Dragster and took us to a Third place in overall points in the Proc Comp class of the NDRL Series. Here is a YouTube video of a pass at Bowling Green Hot Rod Reunion this year. https://youtu.be/XQnfcERZot4 In that pass we ran an 8.029 on an 8.000 index. This engine responds very well to tuning inputs. I decided to run ARP rod bolts on my build. Lots of conflicting information about these bolts, and how you should install. The "safe" way is to get your rods resized, get the correct matching bearings, and install with a stretch gauge. There are several problems with this. First being the cracked rod design of the LS series engines. Check my other video on cracked rods if you dont know what this is... To "resize" these, you can only take .002" off of the ID of the rod. Thats it. You cant machine them like traditional SBC rods. Then you have to get oversized bearings to fit the new bore. Problem for me is, my crank was turned. I was having issues finding bearings that I needed, and besides, I already had bearings. Problem with a stretch gauge is...who has one of those? haha. What I chose to do, is use a torque spec from ARP that they give you when using ARP lube that should give you the proper stretch. In this case, its something like 40-42 ft-lbs. Lube the bolt including under the head, and torque them down. I installed the stock bolts to torque, and then replaced them one at a time. I also cycled to torque several times, which may or may not have been necessary. Time will tell if they dont hold :) Follow Me!! This is the first part of a two part series about balance shaft elimination on 4g series engines. This video details the bearings, the other video will cover the front case modifications. I've already got a low-def video of the front case mods, and I plan to re-shoot that one in HD when I'm in the assembly phase. It's linked in the video. The balance shafts are designed to cancel out harmonic vibrations caused by combustion and the spinning rotating assembly. They may offer a greater degree of comfort to the driver and passengers, but with that comfort comes a price. Often, when a 4g63 timing belt gives up, it's because the balance shaft belt breaks or comes loose and takes the timing belt out with it. When that happens, it can total your pistons, valves, damage the crankshaft, wrist pins, timing belt tensioner and crank angle sensor. Basically, it can total your motor. The balance shafts also have a combined weigh over 10 lbs and both are driven off the timing belt making them additional and heavy rotating mass. If you've got a lightweight flywheel but still have balance shafts, you have your priorities mixed up. So here's what you do with the bearings. It's easy. You can do this at home. You CAN do it with the motor in the car, BUT DON'T. You must enjoy punishment to do this like that. The end result will slightly increase your oil pressure, but usually not enough to cause concern unless you have a full-circumference bearing turbo, ball bearing turbo--with your oil feed coming off the oil filter housing. The head feed would be better in that case because it's regulated at 15 PSI.

Sniper Elite 4 - The Path of Most Resistance Trophy / Achievement Guide - Destroy the plane using a Bolt-Action Rifle [Bronze] This works in Mission 8: Allagra Fortress. At the very end of the mission you have to destroy a plane. Instead of shooting the engine you must wait for the plane to take off, then shoot the missle it is carrying (under the plane). The missile will explode and destroy the plane, resulting in a cutscene and unlocking the trophy. You must use a Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle. All sniper rifles except Gewehr 43 and M1 are Bolt-Action (I used the Carcano M91/41). The M1903 Springfield that's unlocked from the beginning is also bolt-action. This is a new multi part series on how to assemble a small block Chevy 383 stroker motor (actually it is an internal combustion engine - "motors" are electric - but I digress LOL). MOST of the assembly applies to any small block engine. I have divided up the assembly procedure into many parts so you can skip to the specific part you are looking for, i.e: crank, camshaft, timing chain or how to adjust rockers. This whole series was shot by myself with my iPhone so presenting, filming and assembling could all be done smoother but "ir-regardless" I hope it helps. PS - For those of you who who did NOT get the joke and are taking the "engine" and "motor" thing WAYYY too seriously, here are a couple instructional aides to help you figure out why you have no sense of humor.... also I would never use "ir-regardless" in proper English. http://in.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20061118030153AAa0H3F http://www.ask.com/question/what-is-the-difference-between-a-motor-and-an-engine Thank you. These cars have reached classic status for their inspired styling and performance, and subsequent generations have each in turn introduced advances in automotive technology and performance. Blending old and new in a well-executed manner can result in a beautiful high-performance machine possessed of classic style. This 1966 Corvette Sting Ray convertible exactly fits that bill with superb presentation and GM’s modern take on a legendary Corvette engine: the 427 Turbo-Jet. Introduced in 1966, the 427 big-block’s legend lives on to this day. GM has recreated Chevrolet Performance's ZZ427/480 crate engine but with updated components that enhance both drivability and performance. The ZZ427 is built on the newest-generation block casting with 4-bolt main caps, an all-forged rotating assembly, aluminum heads and a hydraulic roller camshaft. The result is greater durability and increased power over a broader RPM range. Augmented with Sanderson headers and side exhaust, backed with a TKO 5-speed transmission, 4.10:1 and posi rear end, the ZZ427 gives this car incredible performance. A Street and Performance serpentine belt system drives the Vintage Air, power steering and electrical systems, and cooling is improved with an aluminum radiator. The presentation is fantastic: deep Torch Red paint with a matching new red leather interior with custom instrumentation, Ididit tilt column and power windows. This two-top Corvette is completed with new chrome and trim, new glass, polished stainless-steel front tubular control arms and performance rubber on Billet Specialties wheels. Going through a 4g63 Cylinder Head? You're on the right channel. I don't know how many parts there will be to this series, I suppose it could go on forever... We all have different ways of doing it, and I'm going to show you mine. This video won't put a dent in most people's grey matter outside of entertainment value... but I tried to keep it fun. I'd like to leave at least a small dent. But no music in these because they're going to cover a lot of ground and fast. I'm not doing anything difficult. This part of this job really isn't. Most everybody pays someone else to do the complicated stuff for them, and those people do it every day so it's still easy unless you earn your money to pay for it from difficult and degrading means. But this video's about getting started. There's some safety and organization tips to be aware of before diving in. Stuff that could help people whether or not they even own a Mitsubishi. Everything else is in the videos!

For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a like new 1979 Chrysler Cordoba 300 Series. This is not your Grandpa’s 300. This little bad boy has been made into the ultimate sleeper, a big old 70’s Chrysler. The secret it holds is under the hood. The original 360 has been bored and stroked to a 408 CID with 10.2 compression. The rebuilt V8 engine features an Eagle steel crankshaft, roller lifter kit, ARP head bolts, Comp Cams hydraulic roller camshaft, Comp timing set, Milodon billet main caps, Edelbrock Performer aluminum heads and intake, and a Holley 750 CFM carburetor. Ceramic coated headers flow to the dual exhaust with an H-Pipe, that also feature QTP electric cut-outs. That’s right, hit a button on the key fob and the whole block with rattle at the total awesomeness of straight pipes. The 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission features a performance rebuild, shift kit, and 2800 stall converter. A 9 ¼ Sure-Grip rear end features the stock gears, which are believed to be 3.21. The beautiful thing about the 300, it is all original. The original paint and interior look absolutely fantastic, especially considering their age. The Canyon Red leather shows very little wear, no aging cracks, or stains in the carpet. The Spinnaker White exterior paint and pinstripes show very well for being almost 40 years old. The odometer reads 25,628 in kilometers, 15,924 in miles, which is believed to be the actual mileage on the car. Options for this 1979 Chrysler Cordoba 300 Series include: Air Conditioning (inoperable), AM/FM Radio with CD Player, Cruise Control, Power Locks, Power Windows, Power Sunroof, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Seat Belts, Leather Interior, Raised White Letter Radial Tires, and Factory Aluminum/Alloy Wheels. This is a Chrysler you can drive to any show or cruise, roll up in stealth mode, hit the cut-out switch, and watch all the smiles come your way. Connecting rods are the crux of the engine. They're responsible for carrying the force of the explosions that occur in the combustion chamber and using it to turn the crankshaft. Oil clearance specifications of the "big end" and "small end" are crucial to maintaining consistent oil pressure. In this video we take 3 measurements: Rod Gap Rod Journal (also called Crank Pin) Diameters "Big End" Bore diameter Using the Journal diameters and the "Big End" Bores, you can calculate your oil clearances of each bearing. The process is illustrated here. Anyone rebuilding an engine who doesn't know its history should check all of these clearances whether or not they're re-using the rods. If the crank, bearings or connecting rods are going to be replaced, it's imperative that you measure the new parts as well to ensure they're in spec.

This 1974 Chevrolet Corvette L-82 Stingray is for sale in our Chicago showroom. Options on this Corvette include an AM radio, t-tops, hub caps, power brakes, power steering, power windows, tilt wheel, seat belts, and vinyl interior. The engine, which is a 350 CID V8, has aftermarket modifications such as an Edelbrock chrome air cleaner, chrome valve covers, chrome valve breather, Toker II intake manifold, 4 barrel carburetor, chrome alternator, Accel distributor and wires, Champion aluminum radiator, and newer H-pipe exhaust. The transmission is the factory 3spd automatic. This Chevy also has newer Goodyear Eagle GT tires. The base L-48 engine produced 190 hp. The L-82 was introduced as the optional high performance small-block engine (replacing the LT-1 engine) and delivered 250 hp. The new hydraulic lifter motor featured a forged steel crankshaft, running in a four-bolt main block, with special rods, impact extruded pistons, a higher lift camshaft, mated to special heads with larger valves running at a higher 9:1 compression, and included finned aluminum valve covers to help dissipate heat. The L-82 was designed to come on strong at higher RPM and ordered with nearly 20% of the cars at a cost of $299. For more information on this vehicle visit http://tinyurl.com/mvk48xv The beneficiary of a complete ground-up restoration, this Camaro is an original California car leaving the Los Angeles factory in '67. Nearly 45 years later during its complete restoration, the body received new rear quarters and a driver's-side fender before it was shot with Chrysler's Indy Red paint. The incredible look starts at the front end where you'll find a body wide chrome front bumper. Above the bumper four headlights are found on either side of the grille, and above the grille a modest hood scoop makes plenty of room for an incredible power plant. Up top, you will find a custom black cloth top with a power convertible. Top up or top down, this Camaro is absolutely stunning. Down the sides the body lines are fantastic and features mini-tubbed rear wheel wells. At the rear bumper two taillights flank a rear gas cap that is above a massive rear chrome bumper. The outstanding look inspired the previous owner to name the Camaro "One Bad Apple." Its namesake also refers to the massive power plant that you will see if you lift the hood. Powering the Camaro is a 548ci Merlin all-aluminum Big Block Chevy that when put on a chassis dyno cranked out an incredible 618hp and 603 lb./ft. of torque at the rear wheels. The engine features 4-bolt billet main caps and a 4.53 bore. When you have an incredible engine like the Merlin block stuffed in a street vehicle you immediately have to be concerned with overheating, but in front of the engine, the Camaro has been equipped with a immense custom radiator with two large electric fans to ensure no stoplight gets the best of the engine. Put the '67 F-body on a lift and you'll reveal a very detailed underside. Connected to the bottom of the engine is the instantly recognizable gold Milodon oil pan. Spent gases travel down 2" custom stainless headers fabricated from a Stainless Works kit. From there the gases travels through a custom 3" X-pipe style exhaust system complete with Borla XR-1-3 mufflers that give it an incredible sound. Bolted to the engine is a Centerforce dual-friction 12" clutch that sends all that power to Tremec TKO 5-speed transmission with a .068 5th gear. The power then travels through a 3.5" aluminum driveshaft, to a Currie 9" rear end with a 3.00 Detroit Truetrac differential. Open the door to the Camaro and you will be greeted by a complete custom interior that features Corbeau front bucket seats, all of which is covered in Houndstooth cloth and black leather. The Houndstooth theme starts on the door, where you'll also find power windows. In front of the Budnik Steering wheel a cluster of Auto Meter Phantom gauges keep an eye on the 548 Merlin. Today the Odometer reads 1409 miles since its complete restoration. Between the front two seats the Hurst shifter for the Tremec 5-speed lies in wait on the transmission tunnel. On the dash you will see the upgraded Vintage Air A/C system and a custom Rockford Fosgate AM/FM/CD head unit. Behind the front seats is an additional bench seat and a roll bar to protect you and your three closest friends. Inside the trunk is where you'll find the Optima 'red top' battery. Whether it's on the track or on the street, this interior is very impressive and is a great place to log miles from. The sale of this incredible Camaro includes a dyno sheet that verifies the 618hp at the rear wheels, and a vertical display to show at car shows. The pro-touring movement can be more than just a classic car that has been upgraded with modern suspension and a modern drivetrain. One last battlefield...and Von Bolt is pulling out all the stops, everything he has left. Hi everyone, CO Cendril here welcoming you to the finale of the main campaign. As the emotion wells up inside me, there is still one task that must be completed. Von Bolt has control of a huge oozium known as the "Grand Bolt" and wants to use it to consume all resistance to his schemes. Jake, you have been a great defender in the Allied Nations from the start of this long journey. You must not let Von Bolt get rolling on the primary front! Rachel, as always, I believe in you completely. You'll be in charge of the secondary front, which has priority targets that must be destroyed or we are all doomed. You two will be facing Von Bolt and Kindle. This will be my last battlefield as strategist for the Allied Nations. *puts on CO cap and takes a deep breath* Let's go!!!

I often get asked this question: Q: How does one learn these skill sets "every mechanic should know" if they are not found in a manual? A: NUMBER 1.....GET DIRTY and start wrenching. -Ask questions -Find a seasoned craftsman to mentor under -Tech schools can significantly speed this time up -Research, read, watch YouTube videos Tip: You will never learn it all from one source or in a short time period. No matter what craft you are trying to master, YOU must be dedicated and put the time in. THERE IS NO BETTER WAY TO LEARN THAN DOING! I will say it again, you must actually do the work to master it. You cannot just watch or read about it and master anything. You want to be a master bike builder, mechanic, welder, nurse, carpenter or you fill in the blank? -Don't take for granted opportunities to learn deeper -Be humble and seek advice -Be intentional with your learning plan -Don't blame a school, job or your parents for not giving you ever answer, go get it! I teach a motorcycle/powersports technician program at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City, Iowa. My beloved FOURSEVENS is back with another tactical flashlight innovation. The USB rechargeable 18650 Maelstrom MMR-X Regen is a solid package with a very well placed micro USB recharging port right on the light. I have moved almost 100% to the 18650 rechargeable platform over the last few months and I have saved untold fortunes on CR123 batteries. The Maelstrom MMR-X is a valuable addition to the collection, in that it allows me to re-charge pretty much anywhere. Most of us have a USB based recharging system for our phones, which pretty much gives you the main recharging components (transformer brick). Just plug in the provided cable and you are charging. The CREE XM-L2 U2 emitter is awesome, I have been using it in my Eagle Tac T200C2 which I want to call the G25C2 all night for some reason, also XM-L2, my Zebra Light H600 also uses the XM-L2 and it is the best emitter out there right now. The light weighs in at 4.4oz with battery, that is very respectable for the 800 Lumen output you get from the MMR-X!! When you are a backpacker you are very weight conscious so keeping it lightweight is a big plus in my book. The Maelstrom MMR-X comes with an aggressive bezel which I immediately changed out for the toned down matching flat black bezel. It looks better. Bottom line, I mean seriously are you going to be breaking in car windows with a flashlight, don't bother it will just break your light. There are accessories galore including extra o-rings, extra tail cap covers, a neck lanyard and a generous second tail cap switch mechanism which you would normally have to buy yourself. Over-all.... I am giving the FOUR SEVENS Maelstrom MMR-X REGEN a 9.5 out of 10, they would have got the ten if there was a pocket clip included, this is a perfect rechargeable 18650 based full power EDC light IMO but without a pocket clip it just floats in your pocket. You can ask questions or check out my new gear here on my new facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/twentydollarbandit Thanks for watching, 20$Bandit

Trofej: A Most Singular Expert - Osvoj si jendu zbraň (Master a single weapon ) Vaším úkolem k získání této odměny je, aby jste si osvojili jednu zbraň. 1978 Harley Davidson IronHead Sportster 75th Anniversary Edition Refurbish by Mick "IronMick" Dawdy Objective To build a good looking, good sounding, good running IronHead -- specifically a 1978, 75th Anniversary Edition Sportster. This is a refurbish not a restoration -- to be ridden many miles each year, even thru storms and along gravel roads as we may come upon them. So we keep as many old, imperfect parts as is practical; and replace only where necessary, with OEM if available, but otherwise with similar, period, or re-pops. I picked up the bike on October 6, 2009. The bike was in good condition but recently had not been well cared for. It had the original engine and frame with matching numbers, original wire harness, lights, and instruments, and some original and some period tins. Part 1: Fall 2009 - Get It Running Top end rebuild: .030 over, Wiseco 10:1 pistons, 170/170 static compression Checked rods for up and down movement, and flywheel end play for sprocket shaft bearing wear -- passed both tests so no need to dismantle the bottom end Replaced points with Ultima single fire electronic ignition; lubricated/greased cables Kraft Tech forward controls, new oil and fuel lines properly routed, new K&N air filter Replaced fluids, fork seals, oil pressure switch, battery, regulator, solenoid Port Dover, Friday November 13: successful ride - nothing broke or fell off Part 2: Winter Project 2009/2010 Gold wheels refurbished; hand painted frame, swing arm, battery box, horn, start relay NOS OEM air cleaner back plate, drilled for better air flow Cleaned up forks, shocks, tachometer & speedometer; complete wire harness inspection Refurbished carburetor, generator, starter motor, brake calipers, rear brake system Rebuilt brake master cylinder; freed up sticky choke wire Replaced speedo drive & cable, brake rotors, rear brake cable, generator light, run switch Replaced shock mount hardware & rubber bushings New rubber mounts for oil tank and battery box New headlight visor, oil cooler by-pass, petcock with filter for old style king fuel tank OEM Harley Davidson tall eagle wing emblem for the sissy bar, re-chromed [eBay find] Mike's Cycle Seats did the seat repair, and a modification to make it more comfortable Rescued from my old bike: handlebar mounted cup holder & 1970s voltmeter, sissy bar bag, running lights, center stand, windscreen, Sportster script mirrors, #1 timing cover, and OEM generator with ACCEL armature and 60s/70s striped body and end covers Part 3: Kicker Kit Installation All parts are NOS OEM from eBay and NOSParts.nl, except new arm and pedal Refurbish clutch and transmission -- replaced shift forks and top hats Part 4: Paint, Stripes and Decals Paint and stripes for all tins; NOS OEM decals for the king fuel and oil tanks, and for the air cleaner, brake calipers and battery box; re-pop decals for the front fork and primary cover Part 5: Finalized Tune-Up Running well with VOES and 35` ignition timing [set to just eliminate pinging], and with the original 38mm Harley Davidson Keihin carburetor with 180 main jet, 72 slow jet, and one turn out on the pilot screw Part 6: Spring 2010 Rescued from my old bike: Tool bag, chrome tail light cover, 2, 1/2" pull back risers, rear muffler mount bracket [needed to install new mufflers], speedo and tach [same OEM style but work better], chrome war eagle emblem for front fender [gift from a friend] Older style fork caps and instrument mounts [to mount the instruments with the new risers], nice used carry rack from the indie New Cycle Shack taper tip mufflers for 1980 to 2003 [required purpose built front mount bracket] -- IMO these have the very best look and sound Honda GB500 fork boots, new handlebar bushings, re-configured handlebar cables New brake shoes and rear tire; rear wheel centered to fit the wider brand of 120 tire #1 decals installed on sissy bar side plates, new chain guard New start switch and front brake switch, four new circuit breakers Used OEM headlight assembly with H4 bulb [to replace the sealed beam unit] New and improved battery ground cable Part 7: Summer, Fall, Winter 2010/2011 Fixed the oil leak; refurbished front brake T-fitting New o-ring chain; new cube-type starter relay Polished the aluminum; chromed the purpose built front muffler bracket NOS OEM headers; Cycle Shack slash cut slip-fit mufflers with lollipop baffles [performance increase over taper tip mufflers] Installed Sportster script rear fender tip [rescued from my old bike], chrome turn signal lens trim [swap meet find], and 60s/70s striped A/C trim [eBay find] Prepared for install of NOS OEM hard bags and turn signal relocation bracket: Refurbished rear wire harness with bullet connectors, drilled rear fender for wires and bolts; grommets in wire holes, temporary plugs in bolt holes Have a set of Andrews PB+ cams; install yet to come

DIY Home mechanic rebuilding an engine on a budget. This part covers how to know if you need a rebuild, guaranteed minimum expenses you will have, teardown, and how to measure for wear on the bottom end to determine if parts can be reused or if new part replacement, or machine shop work will be required and what it will cost. Strategy is to develop a complete budget needed for the rebuild before investing any money in the project at all. Part 2 is here: http://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=GWqbKLPuCDg
