Skin disease - A 12-year-old dog has both backsides hairless and an ear haematoma 1/2

07:45
Around the last 4 weeks, this old cross-bred started losing hairs in his backsides including the tail. The causes are varied for this bilateral alopecia. It could be due to hormonal, tick bite/powder allergies, anal sacculitis, ear infections and injuries. Ringworm was diagnosed by Vet 1 and there is ringworm. However, this skin disease is due to a few causes. It is uncommon to see a case similar to the bilateral endocrine alopecia in cats and dogs or "flea bite dermatitis" in cats. Could this be a case of sex hormone dermotosis or just anal sacculitis? This is a case where there are more than one cause of skin itchiness. The causes include anal sac infection, ringworm infection and possible tick bite allergy.

PIT BULL DERMATITIS SKIN RASH . KENNEL FLIES . HYPO-ALLERGENIC DIET . LUMIX FZ300 4K . San Marcos-TX

PIT BULL DERMATITIS ...(video was recorded 01-Sept-2016)....I could not figure out why all of these swarming flies were in my dog's kennel....but the reason was simple....they were attracted to the Cooked Meat Grease from the meals I was feeding "EZ".....he had been dealing with a Smelly Yeast Skin Rash for about 1-year, and besides trying RX-medications like Prednisone and Cephalexin and medicated RX-shampoos, I tried feeding "EZ" hamburger & rice as his sole food source for just a couple of days....But the heavy grease from the cooked meat attracted hundreds-of-flies to his kennel, as illustrated in this video....This was the last day I fed the cooked meat to "EZ" and the flies stopped bothering him....His Veterinarian did a Full-Blood-Panel test, and discovered that "EZ" was HYPO-THYROID...(low thyroid hormone production)...and he is now taking a daily dose of .6-mg of Thyroxine....His skin is almost completely normal....."EZ" is a 7-year-old Pit Bull Mix, and one-of-three Pit Bull Mix Brothers that were wandering the streets in Buda-TX, at about 3-months-of-age back in the Summer of 2011.....I rescued all-3-puppies.....I have been rescuing dogs & cats for 27-years....I have posted several videos of Veterinary Visits on my YouTube homepage....here is a link. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoTieitEXbTIztVv4414n8Q?view_as=subscriber

|10 Most Common Skin Problems in Dogs & Solution - Home Remedies For Dog Skin Problems

05:42
top 10 Skin Problems in Dogs. 1. Dog Skin Problems. The sound of a dog constantly scratching or licking can be as irritating as nails on a chalkboard. But don’t blame your pooch for these bad habits -- a skin condition is probably the culprit. Possible causes range from parasites to allergies to underlying illness. Solution Provider has compiled images of some of the most common canine skin problems. 2. Allergic Dermatitis. Dogs can have allergic reactions to grooming products, food, and environmental irritants, such as pollen or insect bites. A dog with allergies may scratch relentlessly, and a peek at the skin often reveals an ugly rash. Corticosteroids can help with itchy rashes, but the most effective treatment is to identify and avoid exposure to the allergens. 3. Yeast Infection. If your dog can't seem to stop scratching an ear or licking and chewing her toes, ask your veterinarian to check for a yeast infection. Symptoms include irritated, itchy, or discolored skin. The infection usually strikes the paws or ears, where yeast has a cozy space to grow. Yeast infections are easy to diagnose and often respond well to a topical cream. In some cases, your veterinarian may prescribe oral drugs or medicated baths. 4. Folliculitis. Superficial bacterial folliculitis is an infection that causes sores, bumps, and scabs on the skin. These skin abnormalities are easier to see in shorthaired dogs. In longhaired dogs, the most obvious symptoms may be a dull coat and shedding with scaly skin underneath. Folliculitis often occurs in conjunction with other skin problems, such as mange, allergies, or injury. Treatment may include oral antibiotics and antibacterial ointments or shampoos. 5. Impetigo. Another type of bacterial infection, impetigo is most common in puppies. It causes pus-filled blisters that may break and crust over. The blisters usually develop on the hairless portion of the abdomen. Impetigo is rarely serious and can be treated with a topical solution. In a small number of cases, the infection may spread or persist. 6. Seborrhea. Seborrhea causes a dog's skin to become greasy and develop scales (dandruff). In some cases, it's a genetic disease that begins when a dog is young and lasts a lifetime. But most dogs with seborrhea develop the scaling as a complication of another medical problem, such as allergies or hormonal abnormalities. In these cases, it is vital to treat the underlying cause so symptoms do not recur. 7. Ringworm. Despite its name, ringworm is not caused by a worm, but by a fungus. The term "ring" comes from the circular patches that can form anywhere, but are often found on a dog's head, paws, ears, and forelegs. Inflammation, scaly patches, and hair loss often surround the lesions. Puppies less than a year old are the most susceptible, and the infection can spread quickly between dogs in a kennel or to pet owners at home. Various anti-fungal treatments are available. 8. Shedding and Hair Loss (Alopecia). Anyone who shares their home with dogs knows that they shed. How much shedding is normal depends on breed, time of year, and environment. But sometimes stress, poor nutrition, or illness can cause a dog to lose more hair than usual. If abnormal or excessive shedding persists for more than a week, or you notice patches of missing fur, check with your veterinarian. 9. Mange (Mites). Mange is a skin disorder caused by tiny parasites called mites. Sarcoptic mange, also known as canine scabies, spreads easily among dogs and can also be transmitted to people, but the parasites don't survive on humans. The symptoms are intense itching, red skin, sores, and hair loss. A dog's ears, face and legs are most commonly affected. Demodectic mange can cause bald spots, scabbing, and sores, but it is not contagious between animals or people. Treatment depends on the type of mange. 10. Fleas. Fleas are the bane of any pet owner. You may not see the tiny insects themselves, but flea droppings or eggs are usually visible in a dog's coat. Other symptoms include excessive licking or scratching, scabs, and hot spots. Severe flea infestations can cause blood loss and anemia, and even expose your dog to other parasites, such as tapeworms. Treatment may include a topical and/or oral flea killer and a thorough cleaning of the pet's home and yard.

Thank you. DEPRESSION SCREENING TEST: http://healingfromdepression.com/depression-screening-test.htm My Story My name is Noah and on May 18 2011, I had a rare reaction to a vaccine called VIVITROL and consequently spiraled into a major, agitated, suicidal depression with depersonalization. I lost 25 lbs in 4 weeks and was in full panic or near panic for 8 weeks straight mixed with the darkest most painful depression I cold have ever imagined. I immediately could not work and had to move in with my parents who along with many siblings and friends had to watch me 24/7 as I was so suicidal. I was eventually hospitalized. Getting through each day seemed truly unbearable and I knew I would surely die. I have been put on many many different SSRI's SNRI's Tricyclics, Mood stabilizers, anti psychotics, holistic meds, acupuncture and even a form of shock therapy called RTMS. I barely saw any improvement in my condition for a full year. It was decided I had treatment resistant depression and I spent nearly every moment in tears. Weeks after starting my newest round of medications (Seroquel & Nortryptaline) as a last ditch effort, I had my blood drawn for possible hormone imbalances and my Testosterone levels came back 200 ng/Dl and 150 ng/Dl. The average 25 year old male has 750 ng/Dl. With this discovery I for the first time had any type of possible explanation as to why I was not getting better and why I might be so so sick. The symptoms of such Low T are very similar to those of major depression. I started Testosterone replacement therapy soon after and have been checking in with the world and documenting my experience with treatment as well as giving my insight and perspective on various topics of mental health. I am blessed to say that I have slowly, over the last year and 10 months, been improving and becoming more stable which I never thought to be possible. My low T manifested itself in the form of Major depression, anxiety, and depersonalization/ derealization for over a year. Gaining some mental stability back is nothing short of a miracle as I was near death for what felt like forever. I do not consider myself to be totally healed yet but I am closer now then ever before and aim to use what I have been through to help or at least offer support to others in need I was able to successfully come off my Seroquel and Pamelor. I work out all the time as a part of my mental health recovery!!! Weight training and all kinds of cardio rule much of my free time!

Hair Loss on Dogs: Causes and Cures Of Hair Loss on Dog

02:32
Hair Loss on dog is a so common problem that almost every owner confronts with his dog once a year. (Here is the Link - http://bit.ly/2yhEzn0 ) There are lots of different causes. That have been tried to discussed below in a very concise manner . Sometimes hair loss on dog become so recurring that owner get exhausted spends large amount after the dog's treatment. if you know how do these problem arise you may find some solution too. Here I have given some clues on how to treat and cure common hair loss on dog problem in your home with very natural ingredients. Hair Loss on Dogs: Typical Causes and Treatments. There are lots of reasons pet dogs might lose hair (likewise called alopecia), from infection to inflammation due to parasites. A few of the more typical reasons consist of: Allergies are a frequent trigger for hair loss in pets. Like people, pet dogs can have an allergic reaction to foods, ecological triggers such as pollen, or to parasites like fleas or mites. Cushing's Disease Loss of hair in dogs may likewise be caused by hyperadrenocorticism, or Cushing's condition, a condition caused by the overproduction of the hormone cortisol. Less commonly, it is because of a growth on one of the adrenal glands. Genetics Some pet dogs are more prone to baldness than others. Bald spots on the outer ear, chest, back, thighs, or lower neck may appear in greyhounds, whippets, Chihuahuas, dachshunds, and Italian grey hounds, usually after their very first year. Infection or Problem (Ringworm, ectoparasites). Ringworm fungi, ectoparasites like mange mites, and bacteria can all cause infections that may ultimately cause bald spots on your dog. Pressure Sores. Older or heavy canines can be prone to pressure sores where their elbows or other bony parts of the body come in regular contact with tough surfaces. In time the consistent pressure has the tendency to thicken the skin, the hair falls out, and calluses form. Rashes/Hives. Insect bites and stings, medications, plants, chemicals, even hair shampoos can trigger some dogs to develop a rash or hives, which can lead to bald spots. Foreign body reaction. Glass, thorns, even a canine's own coarse hair can all trigger inflammation and bald spots if they lodge in your canine's skin. Post-clipping alopecia. For some pets, particularly densely-coated types like the Alaskan malamute, Siberian husky, and keeshond, clipping-- for instance in preparation for surgical treatment-- can cause consistent bald areas. Try to use natural treatment protocols at home for hair loss on dog. These methods are harmless and very much effective. Save your dog from harmful chemicals administration. Ashwagandha root powder is typically given to help restore good health to someone who’s debilitated and to improve the immune response. It’s considered a good remedy for someone who’s undergone a period of stress, which has left them feeling fatigued. It’s often given when energy or vitality is flagging. Now I’ve had a particularly stressful week, so guess what herb I’m taking at the moment??? You guessed it- Withania!! Now while it’s been used for humans for hundreds of years, it’s use in animals is only bow just starting to become more popular. And there’ great reasons why! This amazing herb is what is known as an adaptogenic herb - what does that mean? Basically, this means Withania helps promote relaxation and reduces anxiety as it helps your dog’s body ‘adapt to stress (physical or emotional). It supports the adrenals and thyroid health as well as powerfully supporting the immune system and also has the ability to protects the nervous system. And there are studies to show that Withania performs as well, if not better than many of the anxiety medications currently prescribed. When your dog is stressed or anxious, they produce elevated levels of the hormone cortisol in response to ‘fight or flight. Withania helps lower these elevated CORTISOL levels as it also nourishes those adrenal glands. Withania can be used on its own as a single herb or in combination with other herbs that support the adrenals and nervous system, and this is generally how I prescribe it. We’ll be learning more about Withania, along with other adaptogen and nervine herbs that can help your pets with their stress or anxiety issues in a natural way that doesn’t mean relying on medications. So if you would like to learn more about herbs for your dog’s stress, register now for my upcoming Brisbane Herb workshop. Causes and Treatment of Dog Hair Loss

01:34
Advice on the causes and diagnosis of dog hair loss from Veterinarian Dr. Patrick McHale on behalf of http://www.dog-health-guide.org/dog-losing-hair.html. According to Dr. McHale, a dog losing hair is something to be concerned about as it could indicate multiple underlying canine health concerns. There could be major issues that need to be sorted out. or it could be something minor. This includes minor problems such as fleas, hormonal problems such as hypothyroidism or another problem with general dog health. Other causes are problems with organs that manifest itself in the dog skin and hair. If your dog is losing hair, there are several things to pay attention to. Symptoms such as itch indicate a contact allergy, flea allergy, or food allergy. The dog hair loss is secondary or a result of the scratching that is a reaction to these primary causes. When someone calls and are concerned about dog hair loss its not terribly urgent, but it is something important that requires a visit to the veterinarian as soon as possible. The Vet will work with the owner to determine the source of the hair loss.

12 Harmful Things You Do to Your Dog Without Realizing It

13:14
How to Keep Your Dog Healthy. If you're a dog owner, you surely want your pet to be healthy and to live a long and happy life. But you might sometimes do things that can potentially harm your canine companion without even realizing it. Here are some common mistakes people unintentionally make when it comes to taking care of their doggies. TIMESTAMPS Choosing the wrong collar 1:00 Leaving a dog alone in the car 3:08 Neglecting your dog's teeth 4:15 Letting your dog eat everything 6:07 Bringing puppies to a dog park 7:47 Using physical punishment 8:13 Providing too little stimulation 9:48 Not securing your dog in the car 10:31 Yelling when your dog does something wrong 11:05 Skipping flea, tick, and worming treatment 11:28 Leaving harmful objects around 11:51 Neglecting breed-specific health issues 12:22 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY -There are several types of collars, and you need pick the one that best suits the needs and character of your pup, as well as a place to attach his license. Whether you've settled on a harness or gone for a collar, the second (and just as important!) step is making sure it’s the right size. If a collar or harness is too big, your pooch may escape. -Dogs don't sweat like people do, so they can overheat much faster than you’d think. And since they lack this crucial ability to cool themselves off, the consequences of staying in a locked car can turn out fatal. -A dog’s teeth need to be cleaned just like people’s teeth do. Don't use toothpastes and toothbrushes designed for people! There are special ones made just for dogs, and they’re pretty different from the human kinds. -Never feed human food to your dog! It's way too salty, too spicy, and too fatty for them. In fact, most dishes you eat are severely toxic for them. -To start with, dogs can sometimes be passive carriers of diseases. Secondly, grown-up dogs, especially large ones, can be incredibly rough when playing and running around. -Physical punishment doesn’t work and actually does the opposite of what you want – it makes your dog scared of you. Reward-based training is much more effective than physical discipline. -Just like you, dogs need constant mental and physical stimulation-, especially working breeds, which is why regular walking is a must. -If you don’t secure your dog in the car and you end up in an accident, your pet can get seriously injured or even killed. -Dogs don’t understand “NO”, so it only freaks your dog out, especially if you’re ticked off about something that happened a while ago. -Some people say you can take a break from flea, tick, and heartworm medicine in winter if you live in a cold climate, but you really should discuss it with your veterinarian. -Dog-proof your house by putting away anything your pet can chew or swallow. Things like medications, screws and nails, magnets, coins, and batteries should never be within your pet’s reach. -Always do your research before you get a pet so that you’ll know how to best take care of it and what problems to look out for. Hypothyroidism In Dogs: What You Need To Know About Holistic Options

02:20
http://www.HypothyroidRevolution.org | Hypothyroidism Natural Treatment - Cure The Disease Naturally http://www.HypothyroidRevolution.org | Hypothyroidism is a condition which usually goes unnoticed for a long time. It is a condition where the thyroid gland is not able to produce enough hormones leading to weight gain, fatigue, insomnia, brittle and dry skin, constipation, dry hair, memory loss, depression, no menses and thickened tongue. People suffering from these symptoms may have to consult a doctor immediately and take the necessary medical help. You can also make use of hypothyroidism natural treatment to get rid of this condition. A person suffering from hypothyroidism may have low levels of hormones like T3 and T4. So a simple way of treatment includes either providing the hormones to the body or helping the body to produce these hormones according to the requirement. Sometimes, the patients are also given hormone treatment which uses natural or synthetic hormones. Synthetic hormones are not very favorable because some of them may develop side effects also. Natural cures for the condition come in different forms of supplements of vitamins and minerals like selenium, iodine, tyrosine, bladder wrack, thyroid glandular and coconut oil. Iodine is very important for producing the thyroid hormones. When it is mixed with amino acids it is transformed to T3 hormones. In the same way, selenium is very important in the production of T4 hormones. Amino acid tyrosine is also very important for producing the hormones. A natural powder called thyroid granular is taken from pigs, cows, and sheep. It helps to improve the overall functioning of the thyroid gland. Bladder wrack is rich in iodine content and helps the gland to function properly. Coconut oil is also a very useful natural component used to treat hypothyroidism. It raises the body temperature and metabolism. The most important part of natural cure is controlling your diet. Iodine rich foods are very useful for treating hypothyroidism. Foods rich in iodine like organic vegetables, seafood and shell fish etc should also be consumed in large quantities. Foods like spinach, broccoli, peanuts, cassava, soybeans and millets reduce the function of the thyroid gland, so you have to avoid these foods. By trying various hypothyroidism natural treatment options you will be able to treat the condition effectively. Use of supplements containing vitamin A, B, C, E and D are very useful.

The Most Common Skin Diseases In Dogs

03:34
Free Trial → http://istheonlinedogtrainer.club/ What are the most common skin diseases in dogs? The skin of our pets can be affected by bacteria, fungi or parasites that cause irritation and hair loss. Pyoderma Originated by a bacterium, pyoderma usually affects the area of the dog's trunk, as well as the chin or chin. The most characteristic symptom is the appearance of pustules in the infected area. There are times when that area becomes "bald", which is more evident if the scabs. It is usually very annoying. Scabies It is usually a reddening of the skin with hair loss that, in some cases, may be accompanied by the appearance of sores or small ulcers and with peeling skin. There are several types of scabies: Demodex Canis (caused by this mite present in the hair of dogs), sarcoptic (caused by Sarcoptes Scabei Canis, a burrowing mite), etc. Tub The tub is a disease caused by fungi. The most obvious symptoms are small bald spots caused by hair loss in that area, itching, appearance of yellow ulcers from which a strong odor emanates ... Unlike the previous ones, the treatment is slow and can last several months until its definitive cure. Dermatitis The origin of dermatitis is due to intolerance to some product, object or food. Also the flea bite can generate dermatitis in the dog, which responds with an allergic reaction to the parasite. Several types of dermatitis can be distinguished, although the most common in canids are atopic dermatitis (caused by the animal's allergy to an environmental, food or dermatological component), fungal dermatitis, seborrheic and contact dermatitis. Allergies Dogs can be allergic to some foods, such as meat or preservatives present in some products. Others can be the hair of carpets, dust or lawn of the garden, for example. And, as we have commented, it can also be due to the bite of a flea. Fungosis Like ringworm, it is also caused by fungus and is usually evident in the legs, in the gaps between the nails. It causes irritation and itching that must be treated with the antifungal product specified by the specialist. Parasite bites We have already talked about the allergic reaction that a flea bite can cause. But, in addition to allergy, it can produce, along with the bite of the tick or mite, other reactions on the skin of the canid, such as irritation and a lot of itching. The animal will be very restless and will be rubbing continuously with any surface to relieve the burning caused by the bite. These are the most common skin diseases in dogs, but not the only ones. Skin cancer, spikes, diabetes, hormonal imbalances or Addison syndrome can also cause dermatological problems, some of them of special importance. → http://istheonlinedogtrainer.club/ ← START Your FREE TRIAL Now

-Bayer K9 Advantix II Blue 6 Month Flea & Tick Drops for Extra Large dogs http://bit.ly/1rZa8en Dog flea management and management needs an integrated approach. For effective treatment both the host animal and also the atmosphere should be treated at the identical time. Management of fleas on the pet typically needs the employment of pesticides. Although flea combs can remove some fleas, combing ought to be considered a technique for detecting fleas rather than removing them. If an animal is to be treated for other conditions besides fleas, like expression of anal glands, these procedures should be done before the insecticide application to reduce insecticide contact with interior mucosal membranes. A wide range of insecticides are obtainable for flea management. The pyrethrins and pyrethroids have rock bottom mammalian toxicity. These pesticides come in several formulations together with shampoo, dust and powder, mousse, aerosol and non-aerosol mist or spray, dip, spot-on, roll-on and collar. Organophosphate drugs for oral use are available, by prescription from veterinarians. As well, some on-animal formulations contain insect growth regulators (IGRs) that kill flea eggs on the animal. *Remember to browse all insecticide labels, and to follow all precautions and dose directions. The insecticides used for flea management vary widely in toxicity and efficacy. Considerations for selecting a formulation include the size, weight and age of the animal, additionally because the species. Several merchandise are out there for especially sensitive pets and alternative things that need lower risk chemical measures. These include the citrus peel extracts d-limonene and linalool, sorptive dusts like silica aerogel or diatomaceous earth, the insect growth regulators fenoxycarb or methoprene, and insecticidal soaps. Theses words could appear foreign to you, however you'll continually consult a veterinarian if you've got questions. They can have accurate info on insecticides and their use for flea management on pet animals. The insecticide label ought to additionally contain accurate data on how a explicit formulation of an insecticide ought to and should not be used. *Remember to read these labels before gap the container! When using pesticides for flea management, bear in mind that the applicator, specifically your pet and you'll be exposed to the insecticides several times. The label could call for the employment of gloves and different protecting equipment during application and counsel the pet not be handled with unprotected hands until the treatment dries. All personal protecting equipment listed on the label should be worn. As a minimum aspect, chemical-resistant gloves, apron and goggles should be worn while mixing pesticides and throughout application to stop insecticide contact with the skin. The working space ought to be acceptable for containment of the pesticide and ought to be immune to caustic materials. A chrome steel preparation table and stainless steel or ceramic tub are ideal. Also, bound components of the pet’s body (like the eyes) might be sensitive to the insecticides and must be shielded throughout application. When using flea “bombs” (aerosol cans with a self-releasing mechanism), follow all the precautions and take away the pets from the area being treated. For your information, using excessive aerosols is prohibited and may cause fires and even explosions. The alternative necessary half of an integrated flea management program is to manage larval fleas within the habitat faraway from the animal. This can be achieved either mechanically or with insecticides. Mechanical or physical management of flea larvae involves removal and laundering of animal bedding and thorough cleaning of areas frequented by the animal. Another mechanical control live is carpet shampooing or steam cleaning. This rids the carpet of blood feces, an vital food for the larvae, and could additionally take away eggs and larvae. In outside areas, cleaning up the places where animals wish to rest reduces eggs and larvae and removes blood pellets. In yards and kennels, flea larvae can be found in cracks at wall-floor junctions and in floor crevices. These areas should be completely cleaned and then maintained to stop another infestation. Chemical management of flea larvae will be achieved with pesticides. Organophosphate, carbamate, pyrethrin, pyrethroid and growth regulator (hormone mimic) insecticides in addition to sure minerals are on the market for flea control in the environment These insecticides are formulated as coarse sprays, foggers and dusts or are micro-encapsulated. k9 advantix ii extra large dog 6 pack k9 advantix ii coupons advantix vs frontline k9 advantix ii small dog advantix side effects advantix for puppies k9 advantix ii large dog advantix vs advantage

Hair Loss - Hair Fall Problems Dogs - Bhola Shola

Hair Loss - Hair fall is one of the most popular problems among dogs. ****************************** Deworming New Born Puppy Video: https://goo.gl/FC6ztb Our old Deworming video: https://goo.gl/Pmv3Ja ****************************** Find more at http://www.bholashola.com Also, Like our facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/bholashola Pet Care is a pet awareness initiative by Harwinder Grewal. Who is an owner of Grewal Pet Shop and Farm, Main Road, Adampur. In this video, he tells about hair loss problems among dogs and their solutions in the Hindi Language. Please watch our video carefully or read the article below: Most dogs shed hair, especially during the hot summer months, but a dog losing hair in massive amounts or with bald spots could mean something more serious such as allergies, hormonal imbalance, mites, trauma or infection. While it's normal for most dogs to shed at some point throughout the year, if large clumps of dull hair or fur fall out easily or if your dog's fur is thinning to the point where you can see her skin, this is a sign of excessive hair loss. There can be major underlying health problems going on, like organ issues or dog hair loss can be caused by hormonal problems. If your dog is losing hair, there are several things you should consider. Although a dog losing hair can arise from a serious condition, this isn't always the case. In fact, most dog hair loss happens as a result of highly treatable conditions. The most common causes are contact allergies, flea allergies, and food allergies. In the case of allergies, the hair loss is caused by all the scratching the dog does. Your dog could also be sensitive to specific seasonal allergens in the air. If your dog has hair loss only a few months out of the year, especially on her back and sides, this is called seasonal flank alopecia. Take a look at the causes of a dog losing hair and find out how to help your furry friend. Just take care of following things: 1. Don't feed spicy food to dogs we cook at home for ourselves. 2. Deworm your dogs timely. 3. Give skin/coat vitamins to dogs twice a day. 4. Buy good shampoo for dog and wash dog thoroughly. 5. Do brushing of the dog by taking him out in a garden or outside the home. Thanks for watching our video. Please like this video if you liked it. This is usually the case with the great majority of clients I see....they are often at their wits end, going back and forth to their vet for more medication to treat something that just won’t resolve. And in many cases, those medications have just stopped working! Today, in the first of this two part series, I want to share with you three words that are at the root cause of many of these stubborn and chronic issues: LEAKY GUT SYNDROME (or leaky gut for short!!). Now while some of you are familiar with this term, I know there are still many of you dog lovers that are not. So today I’ll be sharing with you what leaky gut is including leaky gut syndrome symptoms and how this is affecting your dog’s health NOW in seemingly unrelated ways. Remember to tune in for next week’s post where I’ll be sharing with you PART TWO which is all about healing your dog’s gut naturally and getting their health back on track from the inside out! So what on earth is leaky gut syndrome??!! Also called hyperpermeable bowel , leaky gut syndrome is a condition that has a strong connection to the health of the immune system and the development of chronic disease. Sadly this is becoming more common in our dogs today. When our dogs eat, we want their digestive system to absorb all the good stuff while keeping out the potentially toxic materials. Leaky gut happens when your dog’s gut mucosal intestinal lining becomes damaged. Now, normally, the gut lining allows broken down nutrients from the intestines to pass through into the bloodstream while keeping toxins, undigested food and other undesirables inside the gut and away from the bloodstream. But in the case of leaky gut syndrome, this lining becomes very permeable and this allows some of the bad stuff including undigested food particles to get through. The easiest way to think of this is a sieve. This sets off a chain of events in the body, which begins with the liver working over-time to screen out the particles. As it has no chance of keeping up with the onslaught, pathogens like bacteria and yeasts build up and can lead to infection The effect this has on the immune system is important to understand... your dog’s immune system sees these food and other particles as foreign invaders and therefore starts to attack them. This is why we are now seeing so many dogs that are reacting to foods including meats and vegetables – the body is actually seeing this food as the enemy! In addition, inflammation becomes a huge problem. What causes leaky gut? There are a number of causative factors when it comes to the development of your dog’s leaky gut . I break theses into five main causes: • Medications such as antibiotics and steroids- of course we all know the damaging impact of antibiotics in particular and in last week’s blog, I talked al little about how they can damage the gut and lead to leaky gut syndrome. • Commercial foods based around grains and legumes are also highly problematic for our dog’s guts....and this also include supposed ‘grain free’ versions which still contain starches. Grains and legumes contain lectins which can either damage and kill the cells that line our dog’s intestines, or directly cause spaces to open up between our gut cells which then leads to the leaky gut. Dairy products appear to have a similar effect. • Stress- did you know that the bacteria in your dog’s gut can detect when they are stressed?? Pretty amazing huh! When your dog is stressed or anxious they release hormones including CORTISOL. This can be detected by the gut bacteria which can cause this normally harmless bacteria to multiply and mutate, leading to infection which throws the gut out of balance. Keep in mind that stress also shuts down the digestive and immune systems. • Vaccinations-these contain heavy metals and other chemicals that lead to intestinal irritation and inflammation • Similarly, chemical overload from parasite products, household cleaners, exhaust fumes, tap water etc can cause irritation and inflammation to the intestinal lining Click here to watch my FREE online training www.happyhealthydogs.net.au/webinar

02:36
Today we’re doing a product demo for the Delay Her Spay. We love this product and recommend that everyone consider it as an option to spaying until your dog has reached it’s sexual maturity. * Disclaimer: This is a sponsored review, but we only offer our subscribers unbiased and honest opinions of any product or service we share with you. Your trust is very much appreciated, and we would never take that for granted. - Bella & Lola Golden Retrievers Have One Heartbreaking Flaw and It’s a Killer. Dr. Karen Becker, the top holistic veterinarian in the country believes in sterilization. That said, she wrote a wonderful article on the damaging effects of neutering/spaying your dogs too early. You can check it out here: http://healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2016/07/27/neutering-spaying-effects.aspx Dr. Becker recommends 5 ways that you can reduce your dog's cancer risk right now 1. Don't allow your dog to become overweight. Studies show that restricting the amount of calories an animal eats prevents and/or delays the progression of tumor development across species, including canines. 2. Feed your pet an anti-inflammatory diet. Anything that creates or promotes inflammation in the body increases the risk for cancer. Current research suggests cancer is actually a chronic inflammatory disease, fueled by carbohydrates. 3. Reduce or eliminate your dog's exposure to toxins. These include chemical pesticides like flea and tick preventives, lawn chemicals (weed killers, herbicides, etc.), tobacco smoke, flame retardants, and household cleaners (detergents, soaps, cleansers, dryer sheets, room deodorizers). 4. Refuse unnecessary vaccinations. Vaccine protocols should be tailored to minimize risk and maximize protection, taking into account the breed, background, nutritional status and overall vitality of the dog. 5. Allow your dog to remain intact (not neutered or spayed), at least until the age of 18 months to two years. Studies have linked spaying and neutering to increasing cancer rates in dogs. Even better, investigate alternative ways to sterilize your pet without upsetting his or her important hormone balance. ARE YOU CONFUSED YET? Does this all leave you wondering when the right time is to spay or neuter your dog? No doubt, overpopulation is a huge issue here in the United States, but is it healthier to spay or neuter your dog early? Or is it more beneficial for your dog to wait until he or she has reached maturity, which is typically one to two years of age? Here’s a few things we think you should consider: BENEFITS Females won’t go into heat Controls unwanted litters Prevents most reproductive organ disease Helps prevent males from wandering RISKS Higher risk of lymphosarcoma Higher risk of mast cell tumors Higher risk of Osteosarcoma Higher risk of hip dysplasia Higher risk of cranial cruciate ligament tear Higher risk of incontinence Higher risk of bladder inflammation So when is the best time to Spay or Neuter? This is a tough question to answer and not a decision you should take lightly. There are also other non-traditional ways to sterilize a pet without desexing. We strongly recommend that you do your own research and then talk to your veterinarian to understand the risks and rewards of whatever decision you come to. Dog scent glands positioned at the exit of the anus produces a hormone used as a calling card to other dogs. Many dogs have blocked sacs necessitating emptying by a veterinarian or groomers in the US and can cause soft tissue trauma from repeated expression. Dogs Anal Glands Blocked - How? Most often the reason why dogs get blocked anal glands is because of the dog's diet. Stools consisting of commercial dog food are pushed out as soft or sloppy waste, while a natural real food diet is squeezed out under pressure. This causes the anal gland to release and empty on a daily basis, returning your dog to its natural state and behavior. Real food in its whole unprocessed form besides being optimal nutrition for your dog is also free of the lengthy processing that turns waste food into pet food with an array of synthetic often toxic additives that your dogs body just wants expel as fast as possible, hence the soft sloppy stools and blocked anal glands. My advice would be avoid anal sac expression by hand which can lead to tissue trauma and switch your dog's diet to their optimal biologically appropriate food source and never worry about blocked glands again. How to bond with your dog: Make accommodations

00:59
Your dog has different needs at each stage of life. Jennifer Arnold, founder and executive director of Canine Assistants, explains why planning for those needs can make your time together the best it can be. For more information about Canine Assistants, visit http://CelebrateTheBond.com. Ask your veterinarian about Trifexis, the 3-in-1 combination tablet that kills fleas and prevents infestations, prevents heartworm disease, and treats and controls hookworm, roundworm, and whipworm infections. See the full product label for complete safety information at http://www.elanco.us/labels/Companion-Animals/Trifexis.pdf Serious adverse reactions have been reported following concomitant extra-label use of ivermectin with spinosad, one of the components of Trifexis. Treatment with fewer than three monthly doses after the last exposure to mosquitoes may not provide complete heartworm prevention. Prior to administration of Trifexis, dogs should be tested for existing heartworm infection. Use with caution in dogs with pre-existing epilepsy. The most common adverse reactions reported are vomiting, depression, itching and decreased appetite. To ensure heartworm prevention, observe your dog for one hour after administration. If vomiting occurs within an hour of administration, redose. To learn more about Trifexis, visit http://www.trifexis.com. ABOUT THE SPONSORSHIP The makers of Trifexis® (spinosad + milbemycin oxime) sponsor Canine Assistants and celebrate the bond between pets and their human companions. This celebration begins with the recognition of not only the importance of encouraging that unique bond, but also protecting it. The makers of Trifexis are committed to the health and well-being of dogs by protecting them from parasites. Canine Assistants service dogs provide physical assistance and emotional support to their owners. Through the sponsorship, the makers of Trifexis provide financial support to Canine Assistants in addition to donating parasite protection for the organization's service dogs, both those currently in training and those in service with their companions in households and facilities throughout the United States. Together, we are providing physical, social and emotional support to those in need through healthy, happy, long-lived service dogs. The result: helping people in need achieve greater independence, confidence and overall happiness. That's cause to celebrate. Visit http://www.CelebrateTheBond.com to learn more. ABOUT THE BOND Your dog may be a service companion or the comic relief in your house, an exploring buddy or the instigator of social interactions. Regardless of the role your dog plays in your life, there is an incredible and mutually beneficial bond people have with their pets. Service dog recipients report incredible changes after receiving their animals. While day-to-day tasks that the dogs perform – like turning lights on and off and retrieving objects – are vital in helping their owners obtain a sense of freedom, it’s the everlasting bond that is so rewarding to witness. This everlasting bond is a natural part of the placement process at Canine Assistants. Service dogs choose their humans organically; they are never preselected or arbitrarily placed. This respect for the natural way the human-animal connection occurs at Canine Assistants along with an acknowledgement of the role dogs play in our daily lives is the first step in being able to celebrate the bond. THE ROLE OF YOUR VETERINARIAN A long-lasting human-animal bond requires a happy, healthy pet. This makes the role of your veterinarian and her team a key component in maximizing the bond. Your veterinarian not only provides medical care and treatment, but also serves as a counselor in encouraging positive relationships between you and your pets. Skilled veterinarians know it’s this bridge between emotions and medicine that is the heart and soul of their profession. By celebrating the bond – and celebrating the veterinarians who stand behind it—we help protect the depth and breadth of the important connection between humans and animals.

Feeling better, thanks Unca Scott!

This flea bitten JR Terrier mix was one of two found in Live Oak,TX on 12/15/12. He was infested and infected by fleas and THEN the second found dog attacked him! NOOOOOOOOOOO! He was treated by sedation, shaving, flushing, Capstar, antibiotic shot and script, steroids and chicken baby food as suggested by the vet at the wonderful Broadway Animal ER in San Antonio. Here he is two days later, feeling jiggy! My friend, Scott was a compassionate care taker and bought flea meds for all the doggies in my house, thank you!

Urinary Incontinance Bed Wetting Tibetan Mastiff Tips Spayed Female

01:12
When a Giant Dog, like Angel the Tibetan Mastiff, wets the bed, it's not something you can ignore! Not only is it a big mess, but she gets embarrassed, poor thing. As I said in the video, get your vet involved to make sure it's not an infection. The point of this video is to let you know there may be a solution to incontinence, not to diagnose it or potential causes. They do have it on Amazon, and you can see it's not outrageous: http://amzn.to/1Blk836 Again, it's very important to make sure your dog needs this before giving it to her, so your vet should perform tests on a fresh urine sample. This is usually for older spayed females, as the organs that produced this hormone have been removed. There's nothing like a giant dog, but it's not a commitment you should take lightly. If you are interested in dogs like these, it really pays to do some research first. That's true of any pet, but particularly for dogs this size. Very few people who want a dog this size can successfully own one, meaning the dog lives their entire life with the same owner. There are many rescue organizations for large breed dogs. For example, Tibetan Mastiffs are very stubborn and vocal, particularly at night. Newfoundlands drool like crazy, and the drool flies. With any dog this size, a confident yet gentle alpha role is essential. Tibetan Mastiff reading: http://amzn.to/1MmXRDW Newfoundland reading: http://amzn.to/1E7uh3i Transporting dogs of this size is a whole different ballgame. Please get a ramp, any ramp that works, so they can get in and out without stressing their shoulders. This is a ramp that I couldn't recommend highly enough, it's very light but very strong: http://amzn.to/1wMjUNb It has been indispensable. Even if you don't get this specific ramp, a giant dog should have a way to get in and out easily. A bed is also a must. Here is one that's good for indoors and out: http://amzn.to/1Bl7LEi This is an indoor bed, but when you wash it, make sure the zippers are closed or they can rip. Otherwise they have been fantastic: http://amzn.to/1EO0DkT Food cannot be skimped on, these big love monsters need good grub to stay healthy. Here is an example of a decent dry food: http://amzn.to/1AYJfE7 Water should be filtered, either bottled, with a pitcher filter, or a hose filter like this: http://amzn.to/1E7zPLd And that hose you use for washing your car? Not safe for drinking, and that includes Fido. These are safe drinking hoses: http://amzn.to/1AYMQlG So put all of that stuff in your cart, and see what it totals. Add in veterinary care, grooming, flea treatment, fencing, and see how much a dog like this really costs. These are items we have and use and have been happy with. We'd love to have 10 dogs like this, but holy buckets, the expense would be crazy! What fun though! My hope is to raise appreciation for giant dogs, but also to reduce sales of puppies with a reality check. I love my giants, and I have no regrets, but I could see where many would be overwhelmed. Both of these dogs were adoptions, and I would encourage looking for dogs who need to find new homes before getting a puppy. Thanks for watching, and subscribe for more doggy goodness!
