I'm using Dr.Batmangalidj's water cure with UNREFINED sea salt, it has to say unrefined because there's refined sea salt on the market. If you're unsure call the salt distributor or email the company. I was using refined sea salt for years until a few weeks ago, thinking it was healthier, it's not. It can raise your blood pressure because it has it's magnesium and essential trace minerals removed. I'm taking 400 mg of magnesium, I'm using citrate, but plan on switching to transdermal type by ancient minerals. I'm taking a low potassium and will increase it slowly over a few weeks. I'm taking 500mg. The RDA is around 4200mg. Food is my always first choice in getting minerals.

Today I'm going to answer the question, is drinking lots of water good for diabetes. If you have had diabetes for any period of time, you know that when your blood sugar is elevated, you get thirsty. As a matter of fact, one of the first signs you probably had with diabetes was a tremendous thirst and frequent urination. Without getting uber-technical, basically when your blood sugar is up, your body can no longer absorb water into its cells. This causes your body to dump the water and you to drink more to try and replenish your dehydrating cells. So there are times that we must drink lots of water to help us deal with our diabetes. But what about those times when our blood sugars are pretty good, is it still ok to drink lots of water? I have heard my whole life, that if you wait until you get thirsty to get something to drink, you have waited too long and you are already starting to dehydrate. That old saying was backed up recently by Dr James Pendargast. He suggest that those with diabetes drink water throughout the day whether thirsty or not. During the summer, it is even good to add a small amount of salt in the water, or a sugar free sports packet to help replace what is lost through urine and sweat. Too much water without a small amount of salt can cause sodium levels in the body to dip to dangerously low levels. A new study suggests that those with diabetes should have 1cc of water for every calorie eaten throughout the day. I’ve done the math for you, so don’t worry. If you have 2000 calories in a day, you should be drinking 8.5 cups of water as well. The ratio is about 4.25 cups per thousand calories, give or take a cc. So is drinking lots of water good for diabetes? Depends on your definition of a lot, but if it’s over 8 cups per day, then yes it is. Water is a natural cleanser for kidneys for those with diabetes, it helps flush some of the sugar from our bodies and helps regulate our blood sugar. When phenolic acids, protocatechuic and vanillic — compounds present within the cherry concentrate — reached their peak levels in the plasma, systolic blood pressure showed greatest improvement. “The magnitude of the blood pressure lowering effects we observed was comparable to those achieved by a single anti-hypertensive drug and highlights the potential importance that Montmorency cherries could have in the effective management of high blood pressure,” said lead author Karen Keane, lecturer at Northumbria University in Britain. Raised blood pressure is the leading cause of deaths from heart diseases, yet relatively small reductions in blood pressure can have a large impact on mortality rates, Keane added in the paper published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. The team worked with fifteen participants who were displaying early hypertension with blood pressure readings of at least 130/90 mmHg, meaning they were at higher risk of experiencing heart related problems. They were given either 60ml of a Montmorency cherry concentrate or the same amount of a commercially available fruit-flavoured cordial. Blood pressure and blood samples were taken before the cherry concentrate was consumed and blood pressure was measured on an hourly basis thereafter.
