Hello fambam kablam! ^^ So during the first 2 weeks of July, Sarah and I decided to put the egg diet to the test! :D So far I did gain back 1 kg of all the weight I lost, but other than that I am managing to keep the weight off ^^ I must say though I still do have 3 boiled eggs for breakfast and 3 boiled eggs and an apple for lunch, but what's changed is I eat a lot more for dinner but I still haven't gained more than 1 kg back. I ate one meal a day for over 30 days so here are my results. Learn what to expect with an omad diet meal plan. Eating one meal a day is a form of intermittent fasting for weight loss. Would you lose weight and more specifically would you lose body fat or would you lose muscle mass? Or maybe your body would go into starvation mode and cause you to gain weight rather than lose it due to a slower metabolism? Well that's exactly what we're going to drive into in today's video. I've been eating one meal a day not every day but almost everyday for about 2 years now. And it's worked really well for me, so today I'd like to let you guys know what results you can expect if you stick to only one meal day for the next 30 days. Even though I've had quite a bit of experience with the one meal a day diet myself I'm going to be sharing scientific studies and evidence that will help you see both the pros and the cons of this diet approach. First I want to go over the proper way to set up this diet plan for yourself because there's not an abundance of information out there on the one meal a day diet like there is on shorter fasting protocols like intermittent fasting. So a lot of people that try to stick to this diet plan mess it up from the very get go and turn it into more of a warrior diet. And the warrior diet is great, but that's not what we're going for here. You see the warrior diet is a different form of fasting where you fast for 20 hours of the day and you give yourself a four hour feeding window for eating. If you don't set limits to the amount of time you spend eating you easily can drag out your one single meal into a buffet that lasts for hours. So it's very important that you understand that one meal a day is also a 23/1 fasting to feeding split. Meaning you only give yourself a 1 hour feeding window usually during the same time every day and you have to spend the other 23 hours of the day fasting. If it isn't already obvious OMad or the one meal a day diet helps you create a calorie deficit without really thinking about restricting calories. When you're only eating once a day especially when you do it the right way and limit it to under an hour, you can only fit so much into your stomach before your full. So really we're limiting calories by decreasing meal frequency. Which immediately can be a red flag for those people that believe that your metabolism slows down when you decrease meal frequency. However, numerous studies have proven this to be a myth. One study called "meal frequency and energy balance" combined and examined research from a bunch of different studies on the topic of meal frequency. And the researchers found that a nibbling pattern of eating or eating more frequently didn't present any advantage as far as the metabolic rate was concerned. So your metabolism is not going to automatically slow down from eating only one meal a day for 30 days. If you have the same amount of calories in that one meal as you would in 6 meals then your metabolism should remain the same in both situations. So does that mean that the "starvation mode" that we've all been warned about is a big phony scam? Well turns out it's actually not, it's actually called adaptive thermogenesis and it's a very real response that your body has. In response to a decrease in energy intake your body will decrease energy expenditure in an effort to avoid starvation. However adaptive thermogenesis will occur based on the total amount of energy or calories coming in. As long as you don't fast for over 48 hours It doesn't matter if those calories all come in at once or throughout the day. In fact shorter fasts that last under 48 hours have been shown to increase your metabolism between roughly 4 to 14 percent due to an increase in norepinephrine concentration in the blood. But what about weight loss. Don't you lose more weight when you have meals more meals throughout the day due to something known as thermic effect of foods which simply means that digesting food throughout... Well.... at least not until you watch this video because today I'm giving away the top 5 ways that will allow you to burn fat faster while fasting. If you've already tried intermittent fasting and you did it correctly you've probably already noticed some great results. You probably lost some body fat, maybe lost a few pounds off the scale, and you've become more productive in the process.... which is all great. But I know if you could double or triple your results without spending more time in the gym or in the kitchen you would be more than happy to learn how. Am I right? ....I think i'm right. So let's get started with the very first trick... When you break your fast, during your feeding window you want to stick to foods that don't spike your blood sugar, and more importantly don't spike your insulin levels. And those two things aren't always the same. As many of you already know one of the major benefits of fasting is that it'll allow you lower your insulin levels. Insulin is a fat storage hormone that serves as a bridge between your cells and the nutrients coming into your body. Your body will also stop burning fat when insulin levels are elevated. When we fast we are not just looking to lower calories by not eating, even though fasting will definitely do this the main goal of fasting for fat loss is to decrease insulin levels. And there really is no better solution for doing just that, when you simply don't eat your bodies insulin levels are naturally at their lowest. However, what most people don't realize is that even if you fast perfectly, once you break your fast you can spike your blood sugar and insulin levels high enough to cause your body to actually store fat rather than burn it. So if you want to burn fat at the fastest rate the goal has to be to keep your insulin levels low even after breaking your fast. We can do that by understanding some basic principles and then making a decision on what to eat during your feeding window around those key concepts. First let's get the obvious out of the way.... sweets, processed foods, and junk food will spike your insulin levels the highest while providing the lowest amount of nutrients. So if you want to burn fat faster after breaking your fast stick only to real wholesome single ingredient foods. Most of these foods you'll find by sticking to the outside aisles of your local grocery store or supermarket while avoiding the inner aisles. Next you have to know that carbohydrates have the biggest impact on your insulin levels, certain types of dairy have equally as big of an impact, other sources of protein have a moderate impact, and fat has the smallest impact. By not overindulging in carbohydrates and dairy after breaking your fast you'll already be miles ahead of most people. Since fasting is supposed to be a flexible dieting structure, I don't want you to restrict your carbs or dairy to nothing. In fact by doing that it'll probably make you want to have them even more. Instead I want you to break your fast with a large serving of vegetables in order to fill your stomach up and take the edge off your hunger. Then move on to your protein & fat sources, and then if you're still hungry you can move on to some low glycemic carbohydrates & dairy. This will allow you to limit your insulin spikes during your feeding window without actually thinking about it & without restrictions. Let's move on to the second way to burn fat faster that goes hand in hand with the first tip we just went over. I'm talking about keto fasting. Keto fasting is a combination of the ketogenic diet & fasting. This will make your diet a little less flexible because you will have to adhere to a certrain macronutrient split, but it's an incredibly effective way to speed up the amount of fat lost from fasting. Here you would start by setting up a regular intermittent fasting & feeding window. An common example would be to break your fast at 1 o clock & then switch back to fasting at 9 o clock. But during that 8 hour feeding window, with this method you'll actually want to keep your carbohydrate consumption under only 5 to 10 percent of your total daily caloric intake. This means no grains, no starchy veggies, & only berries for your fruit. You'll also want to keep your protein intake right around 15 to 20 percent of your daily intake because remember protein is also insulinogenic, & your fat should be around 75 percent of your total calories. Most diet plans have a list of foods that you can eat and a list of foods that you cant eat. A lot of them also have rules like what time of the day to eat your meals, how many meals you should have in a day, and many diet plans require you to weigh out your food down to the Gram. Flexible dieting gets rid of all of these stressful rules allowing you to feel like you're not dieting at all. Now belly fat isn't going to come off separately from other fat in your body. I said this many times before but I'll say it again your body loses fat as one unit and there's no way to Target fat burn however if your goal is to lose belly fat & fat around your midsection in general then your focus should be on creating a sustainable diet plan that helps you burn fat from your whole body. And thats exactly what im gonna show you how to do right now. With flexible dieting there isn't any one method that you must stick to because that wouldn't be very flexible at all. But there are many approaches laid out for you & one of my favorites structures for flexible dieting is fasting. When I say fasting most people are think of intermittent fasting which in case you don't know what it is intermittent fasting involves an 8-hour feeding period That you could pick at any point of the day & then you would fast the other 16 hours of the day. Intermittent fasting is super popular but it's definitely not the only way to fast on a flexible dieting plan. Many people will take an entirely different fasting approach like eating normally for five days of the week & then they'll spend two days of the week eating either 0 calories or close to no calories. Fat loss is a process that occurs over the course of time & it's about total calories & macros over that span of time. even if you overeat calories two or three days out of the week but then have two or three fasting days your totals will balance out & you could still wind up with a calorie deficit at the end of that week meaning you're going to burn fat.. So the way that you would structure your fasting plan is first decide how would you like to eat. Do you want to eat twice a day 3 times a day once a day or do you want to completely fast some days in order to be able to eat more on the other days. The less time in the week that your willing to dedicate to fasting the more careful you have to be with exceeding too many calories. And vice-versa the more time you dedicate to fasting the more you can get away with during your feeding periods. To help you out I'll give you some templates. As you know there's intermittent fasting which is roughly two to three meals a day with 8 hours eating & 16 hours fasting, theres also the warrior diet where you have a 4 hour eating window & a twenty hour fast allowing you one to two meals a day, another template is omad or one meal a day which is exactly what it sounds like you pick one time every day that you're going to eat at & then fast until that time again the next day. And then the last template I want to go over is the 5-2 diet where you're gonna eat normally five days of the week & then spend two days of the week completely fasting where youre having very very few calories like under 500. All of these structures will work but you have to pick the one that best suits you & keep in mind as you fast longer you'll become more capable of doing harder fasts like The Warrior Diet & the one meal a day plan. If your brand new to fasting it's good to start with intermittent fasting because it gives you the longest feeding window & then you can slowly progress to tougher fasting schedules. Before you're able to completely do this based on intuition alone you will have to first track some calories & some macros to get a good idea of what your totals are. Now keep in mind this is only temporary until you realize about how much food to eat.

Whichever the case may be, I'll recommend you sit tight as I walk you through just about everything you need to know. First off, the one-meal-a-day diet is exactly what it sounds like — it's a plan that restricts you to just one meal a day. In essence, you'll get to eat whatever you want but of course, you can't go beyond a single meal. For the most part, the diet plan is created to challenge your traditional views on food intake and nutrition. And according to a few doctors, it could be the key to sustainable weight loss. Well, guess what? I decided to try the diet plan for 30 days and figured I should make this video to let you in on the pros and cons. Of course, at the end of the day, you'll decide if the plan is for you or not. Let's jump right in! Pros • It's simple and straightforward As mentioned earlier, the one-meal-a-day diet comes with one simple rule — just eat one meal a day and you're good! Essentially, there's no need for calorie counting, complex meal planning or special ingredients, weighing and the likes. You just have to stick to the simple rule! • You'll get to eat all your favorite food This is perhaps the biggest highlight of the one-meal-a-day diet — it gives you the freedom to eat whatever you want, say sweet potato chips, ice-cream, cheeseburgers and more. Well, I wouldn't recommend you eat everything at once though! • Reduced appetite Well, I don't know if you're going to experience this but I discovered that after fasting for most of the day, I didn't have the urge to eat too much afterward. Well, at this point, I'll just stick to the claims that fasting shrinks your stomach and make you want to eat less. You can give the plan a shot and of course, see if you feel the same way. • Sustainable weight loss Finally, the whole idea of eating one meal a day can be incredibly effective for weight loss. But of course there's a pretty reasonable catch — you have to try not to overeat at your one meal. Remember, weight loss is the plan, so do your best to stick to it! Cons • Hunger Pains Yes, this is clearly the biggest drawback of the one-meal-a-day diet. To be honest, I felt the hunger pains at first but of course, it got better as I grew more used to the routine. So what's the point? Well, the diet plan requires you to tolerate a certain level of hunger right off the bat; this is the only way to start the journey and stick with it! Note: I wouldn't recommend you try the one-meal-a-day diet if you're prone to binge eating — you may actually end up seeing little to no result. • Low energy levels As most of us know, any diet that restricts your calories can make you feel lethargic. When you start the one-meal-a-day plan, there's a good chance of feeling more tired than usual — I also experienced it. What's more, people who rely on sugary snacks to get an energy boost may find it hard to stick with the plan. Parting Words The one-meal-a-day diet plan is clearly not for everyone but, of course, you won't be wrong to try it if you can keep up with the rule. The problem is exactly that, waiting until Summer before you try and get yourself into shape. That said, in this video, I give you a workout plan and nutrition advice to try and get you a jump start on that summer body before it’s too late. The first thing you have to concentrate on if you want to see fast results is nutrition. This applies whether or not you are trying to build muscle or lose fat. If you aren’t supporting your efforts with solid nutrition, then you aren’t going to get the results you are looking for (at least not long term). If you are trying to build muscle so you can avoid getting the proverbial sand kicked in your face then you are going to have to make sure you are taking in enough high quality calories to support your hard work in the gym. This doesn’t mean skipping meals and following fad diets or cleanses. This means getting in a steady supply of fibrous carbohydrates and complex carbs while meeting your protein and dietary fat needs. Muscle cannot be built from air. It needs proper nutrition in order to feed the process of growth and it must be prioritized if you want to see fast results. The same thing applies to those that need to lose body fat quickly. Any short term successes you have from “dieting” will quickly be lost as the months add up and your will power and ability to stick to the deprivation approach wanes. Next you need to increase your workout and training frequency. If you train just a single muscle group or even a couple at a time, you will only hit them most likely once every 7 or 8 days. This won’t be enough stimulus to prompt the fastest new growth. That said, you can increase your frequency if you slightly alter the method in which you train your muscles. Aim to hit the same muscles twice each week; once very heavy with the intent of creating sheer overload and the second with focused intention and isolation of the muscle. I demonstrate an example of this concept with the dumbbell cheat laterals and the strict one and a half laterals for shoulders. Hitting both exercises in a week will help to make sure you have both types of loading covered. The next step is to include your weak point training. Maybe your calves are a weak point for you and you are ashamed to show them off during the summer in your shorts. Not a problem. Aim to include 3 separate sessions each week directed at your calves. It doesn’t have to be a long workout at all. I show you how you can include one calf exercise for just 5 sets at a time that will significantly increase the size of your calves in a short period of time. Ab exercises can be performed upwards of 6-7 times per week. In fact, the increased training frequency here (while still not a long time commitment) can increase the resting tone of your abs and make them more visible if you have been following the proper nutrition plan that I recommended in the beginning of this description. The bottom line is you can’t wait until the last minute if you want to be ripped for Summer every year. Sooner or later you aren’t going to be able to turn it around as fast as you’d like. Instead, you can get ripped and stay ripped all year round while building muscle consistently throughout the year by training like an athlete. What started as an incentive to reverse my prediabetes, help my PCOS, and lose weight turned into one of the biggest physical and mental challenges of my life.
