Testing Vitamin Deficiency

01:45
It’s part of a healthy lifestyle for Cylina Slajda, “I take my vitamins every morning usually, I do my best to do that.” She takes a multivitamin along with targeted supplements. “I look for active lifestyle and female. Because i do a lot of runs and competitions like that,” Slajda says. Vitamins are not only good, they’re essential. And truth is many of us need help. “What I really recommend to most of my patients and when I talk about this subject, is be academic about it,” says Dr. Sal Lacagnina. He is the VP of Health and Wellness for Lee Memorial Health System. While millions of Americans spend billions of dollars on vitamins and supplements. Most are self-diagnosing- taking what they want, without knowing what they need. “Oftentimes what we find is people may be taking a lot of supplements and they have no clue what they’re supposed to be taking,” Dr. Lacagnina says. A new trend in wellness is to screen for nutritional deficiencies. Low levels are linked to several medical conditions- while overdoing it with mega-doses has a downside too. Getting an accurate read does away with the guesswork. “There are specialized blood tests that you can use to measure the levels of all of your vitamins, all of your minerals, and all of your antioxidants. Then you can decide what you need to take,” says Dr. Lacagnina. The next step in a wellness plan- is to use the knowledge to build a better diet. “The healthiest way to get vitamins in your body is by eating healthy food. A lot of people will substitute and say, ‘if I’m not eating healthy enough, I’ll just take some vitamins’ That’s not a solution.” Part of finding a proper solution- is to truly target the problem. Key Vitamins & Minerals on a Ketogenic Diet Plan

The first vitamin that is needed is the B-vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B6, etc.). Minerals are also needed as in potassium (4700 mg), magnesium and sodium - these electrolytes are need to prevent deficiencies. You also need D3, omega 3 and even trace minerals. This provides you the key nutrients to make this transition from glucose to fat burning efficiently. Hi guys, I recently have a question what multivitamins and minerals do I need in a ketogenic diet. Well, the first thing you need to do and a lot of people will use vitamins because they don’t want to consume the amount of vegetables that they really need. You really need to do that because we want to get as many vitamins and minerals from the vegetables as possible, 7 to 10 cups. Not just for the vitamins and minerals but to flush out the fat, we need that greens and healthy vegetables. However, when you are switching from sugar burning to fat burning, when you are adopting, you need more of certain nutrients and you definitely need more B vitamins, vitamin B6, B5, B1 and B12. I recommend getting this in the nutritional yeast, you can get it in powder. I have nutritional yeast in tablet form to make it easier to consume and this is a non-fortified. When you consume nutritional yeast, you don’t want to fortify or enrich it with synthetic vitamins but I also added some natural B12. You also need minerals specifically potassium, magnesium and sodium. When you are in a low carb diet you need more salt, consume about 1teaspoon of salt. If you are in a high carbohydrate diet only have a quarter teaspoon of salt. We do need a lot of potassium and a good amount of magnesium. I use electrolyte powder because it has a thousand mg of potassium citrate, good amount of magnesium and has a little bit of sodium. You may need to enhance sodium because this is not have a lot of sodium but this is cool because it doesn’t have a lot of maltodextrin, it doesn’t have the sugar and it has the trace minerals on it as well. You also need vitamin D3, you can get this on sunlight or fish oils, in that way you can kill two birds in one stone and you can get you omega 3. If you can get high quality cod liver oil, you can get D3 and Omega 3. And you have trace minerals which are those minerals are needed in much smaller amounts, and it is hard to find that in the diet and it can really help you. An example would be chromium, iodine, selenium. Again, the goal is to get as much of the vitamins and minerals from the food but I also recommend enhancing it with B vitamins, minerals, D3, Omega 3 and trace minerals. Do I Need a Multivitamin on Intermittent Fasting?

When you consume less frequent foods, growth hormone is elevated and this protects you from the loss of protein and helps you get into autophagy, which helps you recycle protein better. Amino acids are easy to get even if you do one meal a day. Fatty acids are also easy to get on this plan, because your proteins normally already contain the fat. This will also supply the fat soluble vitamins (A,D,E,K) and then we get to vitamins. Vitamins come in two categories, fat soluble and water soluble. The water soluble vitamins like C and B complex can be gotten from your vegetables and nutritional yeast. Your minerals can also be gotten from your vegetables, but trace minerals are difficult to get. You may want to take some extra sea kelp or seafood to get these. Micronutrient Testing

03:17
Micro-Nutrient Testing (Diagnostic Lab Test) Vitamin, mineral, and antioxidant deficiencies have been shown to suppress the function of the immune system which can contribute to degenerative processes such as arthritis, cancer, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. You may be deficient in some vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and/or other essential micro-nutrients and not even know it. 50% of those taking multivitamins are still nutritionally deficient. Standard test results do not measure if the nutrient is properly functioning within the body. SpectraCell Laboratories developed an exclusive, patented micro-nutrient testing to measure the function of selected vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other essential micro-nutrients within your white blood cells. Analysis can reveal a person's functional nutrient status over a much longer time period than conventional serum testing. SpectraCell's tests give a more meaningful measurement of nutritional status than all other nutritional tests. At Metabolix Wellness we are able to utilitze Spectracell's Micronutrient testing in customizing patient care. Micronutrient testing looks at: VITAMINS ~ Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Vitamin K, Biotin, Folate, & Pantothenate ANTIOXIDANTS ~ Alpha Lipoic Acid, Coenzyme Q10, Cysteine, Glutathione, Selenium, & Vitamin E MINERALS ~ Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc, & Copper AMINO ACIDS ~ Asparagine, Glutamine, & Serine CARBOHYDRATE METABOLISM ~ Chromium, Fructose Sensitivity, & Glucose-Insulin Metabolism FATTY ACIDS ~ Oleic Acid METABOLITES ~ Choline, Inositol, & Carnitine

Dr. Robert Morse ND Debunks the Concept of Deficiencies

17:15
A series of clips from my mentor Robert Morse ND's Q & A 224 discussing the underlying issues regarding the concept of vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Dr. Morse notes the importance of using natural detoxification to improve the function of the four basic processes: Digestion Absorption Utilization Elimination He notes that using isolated vitamin and mineral supplements to "correct" deficiencies is "treatment-based thinking" which is not able to restore underlying malfunctions. Cleaning and strengthening the body, especially the endocrine glands, will allow proper utilization of the nutrition coming in to the body from raw, living foods. Do We Need Supplements (Vitamins & Minerals) If We Are Healthy?

06:53
Dr. Berg's Supplements: https://shop.drberg.com What Recipes Are You Interested in: https://www.drberg.com/video-idea-sur... Take Dr. Berg's Free Keto Mini-Course: http://pxlme.me/-i717vtY Dr. Berg talks about if you need supplements if you are healthy. The first question is what defined health, right? Health is more than being thin, it's tons of energy, low stress, great digestion, great mood, and cognition. Your food that is grown on fertile soils are a key factor in future health. You also have stress in the past, that can also deplete you of nutrition. If you're adapting to ketosis (fat), you're require more nutrients (B-vitamins and minerals). Then you have the environment filled with poisons and chemicals that deplete you and cause poor health. To counter this, you need phytonutrients that can cause the liver to break down these chemicals. Lastly, you have the required nutrients called RDAs - because the soils or so weak, it requires so much more nutrients to reach the min. requirements. Vitamin Deficiencies & Mental Disorders

05:40
Proper nutrition is a critical aspect of normal brain development and function, and without it a broad range of disorders of the central nervous system can occur. Disorders like depression and schizophrenia are linked to chemical imbalances that are observed when vitamin deficiencies are present. Therefore, part of mental disorder prevention involves an adequate supply of certain vitamins. Professional medical advice should be sought before trying to prevent, treat or cure any mental disorder. Those who suffer from mental illness such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, etc. may not think a physical problem could be part of the cause. Fact is, people who have vitamin deficiencies often experience mental health problems and/or are diagnosed with a mental illness. Learn about vitamin deficiencies that cause symptoms of mental illness and what you can do to help yourself or a loved one heal. Vitamin Deficiencies can cause a host of troubling mental symptoms such as: Seasonal Affective Disorder Depression Confusion Hallucinations Irritability Psychosis Mood Disorders ADHD Behavioral Problems in Children Severe Anxiety Insomnia Sensitivity to Light and Sound twitching trembling muscle cramping muscle weakness allergies Moodiness Mania Hallucinations Psychosis Paranoia Insomnia Learning Difficulties pernicious anemia Sources: http://hubpages.com/hub/Some-Important-Facts-About-Vitamin-C http://www.livestrong.com/article/348098-vitamins-for-schizophrenia/ http://www.internalmedicinenews.com/news/adolescent-medicine/single-article/vitamin-d-deficiency-linked-to-psychotic-symptoms-in-adolescents/e1f685b050.html http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=omega-3-deficiency-depression http://worldphysique.com/blog/?p=486 http://www.ctds.info/5_13_magnesium.html http://www.bukisa.com/articles/439468_could-your-mental-illness-actually-be-physical http://www.livestrong.com/article/311627-vitamin-deficiencies-mental-disorders/#ixzz2NE10jEVH TFK PERSONAL SITE : www.ADHDecide.org

A Beginners Guide: Nutrient Deficiency

23:59
Today, Ethan Walter discusses nutrient deficiencies: what they are, how to identify them, and how to treat them. A nutrient deficiency occurs when a plant is not getting enough of a nutrient for the normal plant functions. Common deficiencies are N, P, K, (three of the macronutrients), and Ca, Mg, and Fe. In previous videos like this one (https://youtu.be/jaZ_x-sgLO4), you learned that nutrients are measured in water with a number called EC. EC is a very useful number, but it doesn’t tell you what *ratio* of one nutrient to another is. If you have the wrong ratio of one nutrient to another, you could be reading the EC as sufficient, when a certain nutrient is actually too low. Deficiencies are identified by their symptoms. Some common deficiencies are chlorosis, necrosis, and stunted growth. The pattern that those symptoms occur in are important. Pay attention to where symptoms occur, whether it’s on new or old growth, and what combinations symptoms occur in. Plant nutrients are categorized as either mobile or immobile in the plant. Mobile nutrient deficiencies occur first in older growth, and immobile nutrients occur in younger growth. A plant deficiency key is a useful tool for farmers to identify deficiencies. If you’re still having trouble, consult with your local extension agents. Google is not a great way to ID deficiencies unless it’s from a peer reviewed source Treat deficiencies by supplementing the nutrient that is lacking. You can supplement through your nutrient reservoir or foliar feeding (but be careful; high concentrations can burn the foliage and ruin a crop). Consider making regular supplements or switching suppliers if the deficiency occurs commonly. Here are some common deficiencies and diagnosis tips: Nitrogen is the “green up” nutrient. Nitrogen is mobile, so it will affect older growth first, and will cause total chlorosis starting at the tip of the leaf. You will also see stunted growth. Phosphorus deficiency rarely displays outward symptoms noticeably or quickly. You may see stunted growth and the leaves will begin to get darker and purplish/bronze. Like nitrogen, these symptoms will begin on the old growth. Potassium deficiencies is slow to show symptoms similar to phosphorus. Over time, you’ll see chlorosis around the edge of the leaf (the margin). Chlorosis will move from the tip to the back, but will leave the center of the leaf untouched. Like nitrogen, these symptoms will begin on the old growth. Magnesium is a very common deficiency in hydroponics. It’s mobile, so it starts on old growth first. It looks similar to nitrogen deficiency, but will have inter veinal chlorosis instead of complete chlorosis. It also turns almost completely white (in comparison to the light green of a nitrogen deficiency). When you correct it, the old foliage will stay chlorotic, but new leaves will look healthy. Calcium is an immobile nutrient, so it affects the the top of the plant (new growth) first. Calcium deficiencies show up as necrosis on the margin on the leaf. It will usually start at the tip of the leaf - which gets confused with tip burn - but be splotchy along the margin unlike tip burn. *Calcium deficiency happens a lot in indoor systems with poor HVAC systems. The more airflow, the more respiration the plant does, allowing the immobile calcium to be sent to the leaf tip. Another cause is high humidity. Try to keep humidity between 40-60%. Iron is an immobile nutrient, so it affects the the top of the plant (new growth) first. The example used here is basil, and it’s worth mentioning that basil deal with this a lot. The symptom is inter veinal chlorosis in new growth, similar to calcium. *Iron deficiencies are especially common in symptoms that use UV filtration. The UV light creates a chemical reaction in the plant-ready iron (chelated iron) and makes it precipitate out of the solution. It sinks to the bottom, and the plants can’t use it. When we add iron, we unplug the UV filter for 24 hours. Iron can also be added through foliar applications. ----------------- Timestamps/What’s Covered: 00:17 What are Nutrient Deficiencies? 00:49 Common Deficiencies 02:19 Identifying Deficiencies 04:23 Treating Deficiencies 07:00 Nitrogen 08:45 Phosphorus 10:09 Potassium 11:58 Magnesium 13:49 Iron 16:21 Calcium 21:48 Recap ----------------- Connect with Bright Agrotech: Website: https://brightagrotech.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BrightAgrotech/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/BrightAgrotech Instagram: https://instagram.com/zipgrow ----------------- Music by: Scott Gratton http://freemusicarchive.org/music/Scott_Gratton/

Dr. Berg talks about nails care, hair care tips and skin care. There are various causes due to which people get loss of hair, bitter nails, dry skin. This has to do with a deficiency of trace minerals. Trace minerals are required to make the enzymes work in the body and are needed in very little quantities. Trace minerals are needed by our body for getting proteins (from enzymes) which is essential for nails growth, hair care and skin care. Plant based trace minerals are best for skin, nails and hair treatment. Hair, skin and nails are all composed of collagen, but trace minerals are essential for the conversion of amino acids to collagen. 5 Vitamin Deficiencies That Show Up in Your Face

03:28
Most people admit they have trouble sticking to a healthy diet. But when we steer away from food that’s loaded with nutrients, we may be robbing our bodies of obtaining precious vitamins. Vitamin deficiencies are more serious than many realize. It’s been estimated that more than 1 billion people globally are Vitamin D deficient. A severe Vitamin A deficiency may even lead to death. As your body starves for these essential vitamins, your immune system can become weakened. It’s easy to track your daily nutrient and vitamin amounts when you take a multivitamin. But there’s also another way; just look in the mirror. In today’s video we will review the five physical signs of vitamin deficiencies. 1. Puffy Eyes Upon waking, everyone’s eyes may seem puffy. But excessing puffiness may be signaling a low supply of iodine. This is a great time to stock up on: Cranberries, yogurt, kelp, potatoes, strawberries, navy beans 2. Pale Skin If you notice your complexion is growing pale, it may be a sign you need to increase your Vitamin B12 intake. When it’s lacking, your skin can suffer and you’ll also feel fatigued. One way to boost these levels is to eat plenty of: Salmon, red meat, fortified cereal, yogurt, swiss cheese 3. Dry Hair If your bad hair days are due to dryness, this could be a hint that you are lacking biotin or Vitamin B7. You may also notice a significant amount of dandruff. One culprit could be antibiotics. The remedy is to eat: Eggs, almonds, nuts, legumes, whole grains 4. Pale Lips Take a good look at your lips. If they are pale, it could mean you need more iron. An iron deficiency can weaken your immune system. Catching more colds can also be blamed on low iron levels. If this is the case, change your diet to include: Red meat, seafood, beans, dark green leafy vegetables, iron-fortified cereals, peas 5. Bleeding Gums It’s normal to see a little blood after flossing, but if you notice that your gums are so sensitive they are bleeding frequently, try adding Vitamin C to your diet. A clue that your immune system is weak can also be experiencing muscle pain and dental problems. Again, there are plenty of foods that can spring into action and boost your immune system and heal your gums: Oranges, red peppers, kale, brussels sprouts, broccoli, strawberries, grapefruit ---------------------------------------------------------- Disclaimer: The materials and the information contained on Natural Cures channel are provided for general and educational purposes only and do not constitute any legal, medical or other professional advice on any subject matter. The Gallbladder & Vitamin A, D, E and K2 Connection Part 3 Dr. Eric Berg DC

06:45
Dr. Berg's Gallbladder Formula: https://shop.drberg.com/gallbladder-formula-regular or go to Amazon: http://amzn.to/2fydNKv Dr. Berg talks about the gallbladder anatomy and gallbladder function. The normal stomach acid should be at a pH of 1-3. This is essential for the stomach to release bile. Bile helps to absorb minerals and vitamins from the foods that we eat. If the acid in the stomach is low, you can get GERD or acid reflux. Low sodium diets can cause acid reflux. Dr. Berg explains about the different vitamins and their importance, such as low Vitamin A can cause night blindness, dry skin, dry throat, acnea. Vitamin D controls the absorption of calcium which helps in bone and muscle contraction, cellular communication, improves immune system. Vitamin K2 is a calcium transporter and keeps calcium out of soft tissues. Low Vitamin K2 can cause arthrithis, strokes, cataracts, gallstones. The lack of stomach acids can cause a deficiency of bile. So the stomach controls the release of bile. With gallbladder problems, you can have a deficiency of vitamin A, D, E and K1 and K2. This could trigger soft tissue calcium. This is the third video which talks about the gallbladder and its relationship with vitamins and minerals absorption. To know more about the gallbladder, watch out the other videos in this series. 11 Signs Your Body Needs More Magnesium

03:49
Magnesium is a mineral found in many types of foods, it plays an essential role in human DNA production, repair and in maintaining healthy bones, nerves and muscles. Though it is readily available, most Americans do not meet their need for magnesium through their diet. you should consider getting your magnesium level checked if you suffer the following 11 symptoms. 1. Low energy. Magnesium is involved in at least 300 different chemical reactions in our body, and a lot have to do with energy production. A sign of low magnesium can be low energy. 2.Insomnia. If you're having a hard time falling or staying asleep, it may be due to low levels of magnesium, particularly if you are experiencing a lot of stress. Stress hormones increase blood pressure and heart rate, this is partly accomplished by depleting the body of its magnesium If there isn't enough magnesium available for the body to replenish itself, sleeping becomes a problem. 3.Constipation. Bowel movements often slow down without enough magnesium in the body. note that magnesium is the main ingredient in many over-the-counter laxatives. 4.Frequent headaches. Magnesium deficiency lowers serotonin levels, causes blood vessels to constrict and affects neurotransmitter function, all related to headaches -- especially migraines. 50% of migraine sufferers have a magnesium deficiency. 5.Twitching or cramping. Because magnesium plays an important role in muscle relaxation, insufficient intake can result in unintended muscle movement. Without magnesium, our muscles would be in a constant state of contraction 6.Low bone density. Magnesium plays a major role in bone formation, and the majority of the body's magnesium is stored in the bones. People with higher intakes of magnesium have a higher bone mineral density. 7.High blood pressure. Magnesium is very important in maintaining a healthy blood pressure, a deficiency can definitely cause pressure to be too high. Eating foods high in magnesium and other minerals can help prevent high blood pressure in people with prehypertension. 8.Type 2 diabetes. Breaking down blood sugars is another of magnesium's jobs in the human body. People with higher amounts of magnesium in their diets tend to have a lower risk of developing diabetes. Research is ongoing to determine whether magnesium therapy can be used in diabetes treatment. 9.Irregular heartbeat. With low magnesium levels, the heart can have trouble staying in its regular rhythm. doctors will often prescribe magnesium supplements for patients who complain of an irregular heartbeat. 10.Increased sensitivity to noise. Not having enough magnesium curtails its role in stabilizing the nervous system, This often results in hyperflexia, an enhanced startle reflex. And 11. Depression and anxiety. Low levels of magnesium in the brain can affect neurological functions that result in all sorts of problems. Studies have shown that some phobias -- such as agoraphobia -- have developed as a result of low magnesium levels.  Please Subscribe! ▶ https://goo.gl/ksfh7M NOTE: The materials and the information contained on Natural ways channel are provided for general and educational purposes only and do not constitute any legal, medical or other professional advice on any subject matter. Vitamin Deficiency Symptoms -- Over 5 Self Tests to see if your Deficient!

07:32
http://utahtexans.com/ Click on the link above for a free report on shopping for dietary supplements. Humans have been walking on this planet for thousands of years and only recently have we learned what vitamins are, and what they really do. The term vitamin wasn't created until 1912. A gentleman named Casimir Funk figured out what was in on outside layer of rice that prevented the disease beriberi, and it was an amine. An amine is just a fancy chemistry term. He then took Mr. Lind's discovery about scurvy in 1747, and realized these things were vital for life and added the vit to the amine and if you combine them both it is vitamin. Besides preventing the disease scurvy and beriberi, vitamins do so much for health. Sure someone can get them from eating a balanced diet, but I highly recommend a good multi-vitamin supplement. One of the reasons is because our food simply doesn't have the vitamins and minerals like it used it. A major reason why is soil depletion. Basically farmers grow crops to support their families and make money. They use chemicals to grow crops quicker, bigger and fight off harmful bugs. This helps them earn more money, but reduces the vitamins and minerals in them. If you press down on one of your bones like your chest bone and it hurts, this might mean you're deficient in vitamin D. You mostly get this from the sun, but since more and more people are indoors more often, many people are deficient in this vitamin. Vitamin D plays a role in bone health as you can tell. It also does a lot to your immune system and it will be weaker if you're lacking this vitamin. Lastly a deficiency in it can increase the odds of getting cancer, heart failure, diabetes, muscle weakness and gum problems. Next close your eyes and stick out one of your feet. If you have problems holding on to your balance for a few seconds it might mean you're deficient in vitamin B12. This vitamin is all about your neurological system, which is about balance. It also plays a role in keeping the immune system strong. Next up is vitamin B6 this vitamin helps keep blood pressure at normal levels, reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease, and prevents damage from inflammation. Some indicators that you may be lacking vitamin B6 would be having any sores in the mouth or cracks on the outside of your lips. Another self-test would be looking for any dry rough patches of skin or peeling and splitting of nails. This could mean you need more vitamin A. If you have trouble seeing at night you could be deficient in vitamin A. If someone has frequent muscle cramps it could indicate they need more magnesium. This is especially important for people who lift weights or exercise a lot. The more we work our muscles the more we lose vitamins. Magnesium also plays a role in preventing heart disease, diabetes, migraines, insomnia and reduces blood pressure. If you do decide to take my advice and use a dietary supplement, there are a few things you should be aware of. For starters they are not all the same, and nobody ensures these products are safe before they are sold to consumers. Many government agencies around the world feel it's up to companies to ensure their product is safe and that their statements are honest. To me this is like telling two sports teams that they don't need referees and they should just be honest. The sad fact is many supplement on the marketplace have problems. The prestigious Consumer Labs did a test on many of the top selling supplements in 2013 and their findings where shocking. Around 40% of these common supplements have contaminations in them that are harmful. Or they are mislabeled and don't contain the ingredients advertised. To best protect yourself and your loved ones I highly recommend you view a report I have created about shopping for dietary supplements. This report will explain how someone can identify a good helpful supplement from a high risk brand. It simplifies herbal remedies, explains the role of government agencies that protect us and much more. I could easily earn money from this report due to the high demand and extremely low supply of the information, but I decided to make it free. So do yourself a favor and take a glance at it by clicking on the link http://utahtexans.com/.

6 Signs Your Body Needs More Vitamin D

03:01
Vitamin D is an extremely important vitamin that has powerful effects on several-systems throughout the body. Unlike most vitamins, vitamin-D actually functions like a hormone, and every single cell in your body has a receptor for it. Your body makes it from cholesterol when your skin is exposed to sunlight. It's also found in certain foods such as fatty fish and fortified dairy products, although it's very difficult to get enough from diet alone. The recommended daily intake is usually around 400-800 IU, but many experts say you should get even more than that. Vitamin-D deficiency is very common. It's estimated that about 1 billion people worldwide have low levels of the vitamin in their blood. Here are 6 signs you may have Vitamin-D deficiency. 1.Bone and Back Pain Vitamin-D is involved in maintaining bone health through a number of mechanisms. For one, it improves your body's absorption of calcium. Bone pain and lower back pain may be signs of inadequate vitamin D levels in the blood. Large observational studies have found a relationship between a deficiency and chronic lower back pain. 2.You Have Gut Trouble Remember, vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin, which means if you have a gastrointestinal condition that affects your ability to absorb fat, you may have lower absorption of fat-soluble vitamins like vitamin D as well. This includes gut conditions like Crohn's, celiac and non-celiac gluten sensitivity, and inflammatory bowel disease. 3.Depression A depressed mood may also be a sign of deficiency. On the other hand, most of the controlled trials, which carry more scientific weight than observational studies, didn't show a link between the two Some controlled studies have shown that giving vitamin D to people who are deficient helps improve depression, including seasonal depression that occurs during the colder months. 4.Hair Loss Hair loss is often attributed to stress, which is certainly a common cause. However, when hair loss is severe, it may be the result of a disease or nutrient deficiency. Hair loss in women has been linked to low Vitamin-D levels, although there is very little research on this so far  In a case study, topical application of a synthetic form of the vitamin was found to successfully treat hair loss in a young boy with a defect in the Vitamin-D receptor. 5.Bad mood A depression diagnosis is often actually linked to a shortage of vitamin D. While the jury is still out about why, the Vitamin D Council says that the mineral may work in the same brain areas—and impact the same hormones, like serotonin—as those that affect mood. 6.Fatigue and Tiredness Feeling tired can have many causes and vitamin D deficiency may be one of them. Unfortunately, it's often overlooked as a potential cause. In one case, a woman who complained of chronic daytime fatigue and headaches was found to have a blood level of only 5.9 Nanograms per milliliter. This is extremely low, as anything under 20 Nanograms per mililiter is considered to be deficient.

5 Signs And Symptoms Of IRON Deficiency YOU NEED To Know

04:00
Follow us on Twitter: @foods4health1 Recipes4Health: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2bZhXBHIb51n1fE3VWPmcQ/videos To learn more about the health benefits of food, visit: http://www.benefitsoffood.blogspot.com If we want to be at our best when it comes to our health, it is important that we are consuming adequate nutrients. A deficiency in these nutrients can lead to certain health complications that may impact you on a day-to-day basis. This is certainly true for those individuals who suffer from iron deficiency, and are not getting adequate levels of this mineral. Iron deficiency is very common around the world, and is one of the most widespread nutrient deficiencies. When our bodies don’t have enough iron, this can lead to health complications since iron is important to get enough oxygen throughout our body. Iron is also used to make hemoglobin and impacts the red blood cells in our bodies. Lets discuss some other signs and symptoms of iron deficiency. 1. First, one of the most common signs of iron deficiency is fatigue and lack of energy. These fatigue feelings are prevalent even after getting a good nights sleep. This is because iron deficiency may cause less oxygen to reach your tissues, as mentioned previously. When there is this lack of oxygen, our bodies can be deprived of important energy to fuel us during our busy day. Not only will you feel fatigued and tired, but iron deficiency can also bring on symptoms of irritability, weakness and an inability to focus like you once did. 2. Another common iron deficiency sign or symptom is an increase in the paleness of your skin color. As mentioned previously, a deficiency in this nutrient can negatively affect hemoglobin levels in your body. Hemoglobin is responsible for giving your blood its reddish color, which provides your skin with a more rosy hue. Low levels of hemoglobin can affect this, and leave your skin looking more pale. Not just skin tone is affected from this. It can also make your gums, lips and even the bottom of your eyelids less red as well. 3. It is also common for those individuals with iron deficiency to suffer from headaches and head pain. This is because when your are iron deficient, your body will work to prioritize getting important oxygen to your brain, before it will distribute it to the rest of your bodily tissues. Even still, those with an iron deficiency will still get less oxygen in their bodies than it normally would. This lack of oxygen can cause arteries in the brain to swell, resulting in unwanted headaches and pain. 4. Iron deficiency can also negatively affect your hair. This is especially true when this deficiency progresses into iron deficiency anemia, since it can lead to hair loss in both men and women. Again, due to the bodies lack of sufficient levels of oxygen, your body will supply this oxygen to support the most vital functions of the body, which generally does not include keeping the hair healthy, strong and intact. Not only is hair loss possible, but the overall look of your hair can decrease, while becoming brittle and weak. 5. Lastly, iron deficiency can lead to increased feelings of anxiousness and worry more often. Decreased oxygen in the body, along with low levels of iron, can negatively affect your nervous system and increase anxiety. As well, low iron levels can cause your heart to race, which can increase feelings of fight-or-flight. These anxious feelings can come on even when there is nothing particularly to cause you increased anxiousness or stress. Please note, all of the above signs and symptoms should be discussed with your medical practitioner in order to determine their direct cause and and their best treatment for you. As well, you should also discuss your iron levels with your doctor, and adequate intake levels to support your health. Foods high in iron include oatmeal, spinach, various meats such as beef, chicken and liver and tofu. Thank you for watching the video! Please like, comment and share. 👉 The Most Important Mineral For Instantly Lowering Your Blood Pressure

In fact, research has demonstrated1-3 the vital role this mineral plays in your cardiovascular health, by reducing your risk for hypertension, stroke, heart attack and plaque build-up in your arteries. This invaluable mineral is important to the health of every cell and organ, playing a role in over 600 different reactions in your body. So what mineral am I speaking of?... It’s Magnesium! When magnesium levels are low, you can have major problems in your muscles and organs. Symptoms of a deficiency can include unexplained fatigue or muscle weakness, abnormal heart rhythms, eye twitches, muscle spasms, restlessness, insomnia and even hair loss. It is quite possible to be unaware of a deficiency, which is why it has been dubbed the "invisible deficiency." Some researchers estimate that up to 80% of American do not get enough magnesium from their diet to replace the magnesium lost.(1) I bring this up because studies have shown that less than 25% of US adults are getting the minimum requirements for magnesium - which is only about 300 mgs for women and 400 mgs for men.(2) Magnesium & Blood Pressure I could go on and on about the importance of Magnesium, but I hope you get the point. However, today I want to focus on lowering your blood pressure. If you didn’t already know, 1 out of 3 Americans (33%) suffer from high blood pressure (hypertension).3 … which can increase your risk of having a heart attack or stroke. Sadly, ½ of these people don’t even know they have hypertension and less than 20% have this under control.(3) In fact, having high blood pressure is known as the “silent killer” because there are no real symptoms. Other than getting your blood pressure tested regularly, it’s hard to tell if yours will be elevated or if it’s normal. However, the good news is that in a clinical study5, people who had the highest levels of serum magnesium, had a 48% lower risk of hypertension 69% lower risk of type 2 diabetes 42% lower risk for CAC, which is the hardening of your arteries. All very positive for your heart and overall health. Better Than A Drug? One type of drug prescribed for hypertension are “calcium channel blockers”. These are medicines which relax and widen blood vessels, therefore allowing the blood to flow through the blood vessels smoothly, lowering blood pressure. The good news is that magnesium acts like a calcium channel blocker, easing blood vessel flow and lowering blood pressure – naturally, without any synthetic drugs. It was found in a human clinical study6 of more than 8,500 people that a higher intake of magnesium may decrease the risk of high blood pressure. Where To Get Your Magnesium From Unfortunately, getting optimal magnesium levels can be difficult because most foods are depleted of vitamins and mineral. And most supplements of magnesium are poorly absorbed. FOODS As far as best “magnesium-rich” foods, most of it is greens and vegetables: Spinach Beet greens Collard greens Turnip greens Broccoli -Raw seeds -Raw nuts -Fatty fish SUPPLEMENTS Obviously, taking a pill a lot easier and more efficient. Unfortunately, there are about 9 common forms of magnesium supplements, which can get very confusing. Magnesium Amino Acid Chelate Magnesium Oxide Magnesium Citrate Etc. So What’s The Best Form? Over the years, I’ve tested many different forms and combinations and I’ve discovered the best is a combination of 4 different magnesium's, which are clinically proven for maximum absorption: TRAACS® Magnesium Glycinate Amino Acid Chelate Albion® Di-Magnesium Malate Magnesium Citrate ======================================== Thank you for watching. 10 Signs And Symptoms Of Magnesium Deficient You Should Not Ignore

10:31
Warning Signs of Magnesium Deficient Magnesium is the eighth most abundant mineral on earth and the fourth most abundant mineral in the human body. It is involved in over 300 biochemical reactions in your body and is present in every cell type. About 50 to 60 percent of all magnesium in the body is stored in the bones and only a small amount is present in the blood. This nutrient is especially important for healthy bones, regulation of blood pressure, restful sleep, good blood circulation, proper nerve functioning, a strong immune system, heart health, muscle health, proper elimination, absorption of vitamin D and proper digestion of carbohydrates. Please note: The content provided below and elsewhere on this video is not intended nor should it be construed as providing professional medical or nutritional advice. Do not rely on information provided on this video for your health problems. instead, consult a qualified medical professional for advice. And here are 5 Common Signs of Magnesium Deficient that you should to know; 01:02 Muscle Spasms and Cramps. 02:05 Frequent Migraines 03:09 Abnormal Heart Rhythms 04:07 Anxiety, Depression and Restlessness. 05:06 Loss of Appetite. 06:03 Unexplained Fatigue and Weakness. 07:02 Rise in Blood Pressure. 08:01 Struggling for Sound Sleep. 09:08 Difficulty Concentrating and Loss of Memory. 10:01 Unpleasant Body Odor. Some early signs of magnesium deficiency include numbness and tingling, muscle cramps, and abnormal heart rhythms. Plus, it is associated with conditions like hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, asthma, insomnia, migraine, anxiety and panic attacks, and musculoskeletal conditions such as fibromyalgia, chronic back pain, etc. Regular muscle spasms and cramps are also noticeable symptoms of magnesium deficiency. Magnesium is important for muscle health. It stimulates calcium re-uptake that can help maintain strong muscles and prevent cramps. It also increases the absorption of potassium, which is critical for proper muscle functioning. In addition, it helps reduce muscle pain by blocking pain receptors in the brain and nervous system. If you often experience muscle cramps, make sure to check the magnesium level in your body. Frequent muscle twitching, especially eye twitching, may also be caused by magnesium deficiency. Irregular and abnormal heart rhythms are one of the classic symptoms of low magnesium in the body. This mineral is important for proper heart functioning and supports the rhythmic heart activity. It even helps ensure proper blood circulation in the body. In addition, magnesium helps in the transport of calcium and potassium ions across cell membranes, a process that is important for normal heart rhythm. Even a mild deficiency of magnesium can cause fatigue and general weakness. You may experience lack of physical or muscle strength and find that you need to put a little extra effort into performing your regular daily activities. Magnesium plays a key role in breaking down glucose into energy, which boosts your metabolism and helps fight fatigue and weakness. In addition, this important nutrient regulates the metabolism of other minerals like calcium, potassium, phosphorus, copper, vitamin C and zinc, which help provide energy to your body. If you are prone to frequent migraine attacks, you may be deficient in magnesium . In fact, a 1989 study published in Headache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain concluded that low brain magnesium is an important factor in the mechanism of migraine attacks. Treatment of migraines during pregnancy requires great care. Magnesium may be a safer choice than powerful prescription medications. A 2012 study published in the Journal of Neural Transmission suggests that all migraine patients should be treated with magnesium. It may be helpful for treating menstrual migraines, too. Well, If you experience any of the following 5 Common Signs of Cancer in Men that I mentioned above, you should not ignore it. It’s important to tell your health care provider to have them checked by your doctor. So that the cause can be found and treated, if needed. Being proactive can lead to earlier treatment and a better outlook. Thank you for watching "5 Common Signs of Cancer in Men." Early Detection Could Save Your Life Longer. Gluten Sensitivity & nutritional deficiencies.mp4

http://www.glutenfreesociety.org/?p=4798 One of the biggest delays in healing that patients with gluten sensitivity face has to do with the deficiency of vitamins, minerals, and other dietary nutrients. Many doctors check their patients for iron deficiency, but fail to check other essential nutrients like calcium, magnesium, selenium, zinc, chromium, B-vitamins, etc. Failure to address nutritional deficiencies can lead to delayed healing and delayed response to a gluten free diet. https://www.glutenfreesociety.org/shop/ *These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. 7 Recommended Supplements on a Keto and Intermittent Fasting Plan

Nutritional Yeast (Supports B-Vitamins): https://shop.drberg.com/nutritional-y... Download Keto Essentials https://m.me/drericberg?ref=w2128577 Dr. Berg talks about the best recommended supplements on a keto (ketogenic diet) and intermittent fasting. 1. Minerals 2. B1 (in conversion from sugar to fat burning) 3. B3 (to remove fat and cholesterol from the liver) 4. B5 (in the conversion from sugar to fat burning) helps in the keto adaption and prevent ketogenic fatigue, flu, and rash. 5. Vitamin A (improves insulin resistance) 6. Vitamin D (improves insulin resistance) 7. Choline - to help a fatty liver Virgin Cod Liver oil helps provide vitamin D and A equally. Nutritional Yeast provides B vitamins, Electrolyte Powder helps provide minerals. Hey guys, we are going to talk about the 7 recommended supplements on a Ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting plan. The first one I am going to recommend is minerals. You want to potassium, magnesium, sodium and calcium those were electrolytes, and then trace minerals. Because minerals helps reduce insulin resistance and it puts you into fat burning a lot better. Plus, these minerals are alkaline which offset some of the uric acid buildup that comes from the ketogenic diet to lessen the chance to get a gout or the uric acid kidney stones. Number 2 vitamin B1, this is essential in the adaptation of sugar burning into fat burning, and it is also great to relieve stress. Vitamin B3 is really good for lowering cholesterol that is coming out of the fat cells or liver and it is also good to support the liver in general. Vitamin B5 is another key B vitamin that is essential in the adaptation to fat burning. If you are deficient in B5 and B1, you may notice more fatigue, keto flu and keto rash, any of those symptoms. Number 5, vitamin A which is also essential in dealing with insulin resistance and you would get vitamin A in cod liver oil, grass-fed cheese, grass-fed liver and egg yolks. No. 6 vitamin D and I recommend vitamin D3 version, this is really good for insulin resistance and improving that. It is also in cod liver oil, egg yolk. In fact if you consume cod liver oil, you get a 50/50 split of vitamin A and vitamin D so you could kill 2 birds at 1 stone. No. 7 choline which is essential of getting the fat off the liver. I recommend doing electrolyte powder for the minerals. I recommend nutritional yeast for B1, B3, B5 and it even has choline. I have a version that has non-fortified, it is in a tablet form with added B12. You have electrolyte powder, nutritional yeast, and cod liver oil and if you really have fatty liver you could have choline in addition to the choline that is in nutritional yeast to strip off the fat from the liver. Magnesium Deficiency - No Test Required - Mark Sircus, Ac., OMD

04:22
Magnesium is grossly deficient in the great majority of people existing on modern diets. http://drsircus.com/medicine/magnesium/magnesium-deficiency-symptoms-diagnosis The clinical situation is so bad that when it comes to magnesium people with chronic diseases can be sure that their magnesium levels will be very low. This means that they will respond exceptionally well to treatments with magnesium chloride. Magnesium chloride oil treatments address systemic nutritional deficiencies, act to improve the function of our cells and immune system, and help protect cells from oxidative damage. Magnesium is a systemic medicine as well as a local one bringing new life and energy to the cells wherever it is applied topically. When used with oral administration, transdermal magnesium therapy offers us the opportunity to get dosages up to the powerful therapeutic range without compromising intestinal comfort through oral use alone. One hardly needs to have a test if patients diet consists of any of the three prominent white foods. White rice, white sugar and white bread are white because they are stripped of their mineral, vitamin and fiber content. These are poison foods because they starve us of magnesium. When consumed they demand that we supplement with magnesium or we are destined to breakdown and get sick and even die of cancer, cardiac arrest, or suffer with diabetes, a stroke or some kind of neurological disease. But these are not the only foods that are devoid of magnesium. In general magnesium has been depleted from topsoil diminishing dietary intake across the board while our need for magnesium has increased do to increasing toxic exposure.

Signs and Symptoms of Iron Deficiency You Should Not Ignore

10:04
10 Signs and Symptoms of Iron Deficiency / anemia symptoms. Iron is an important dietary mineral that is involved in various bodily functions. It is commonly known for aiding the production of hemoglobin, a protein that helps red blood cells deliver oxygen throughout your body. It also acts as a transport medium for electrons to travel within the cells and is needed for many enzymes to function normally. Here are the top 10 signs and symptoms of iron deficiency. review : 01:02 Fatigue and Tiredness 02:06 Shortness of Breath 03:12 Pale Skin 04:06 Brittle Nails 05:11 Hair Loss 06:05 Craving Nonfood Substances 1. Fatigue and Tiredness Fatigue and tiredness are common in people who have a low iron level. Iron is important for maintaining optimum levels of hemoglobin, which is the oxygen-carrying chemical in the bloodstream. Lack of oxygen in the body causes constant fatigue and tiredness. A 2000 study published in Quality of Life Research suggests that iron deficiency is associated with decreased general health and well-being and increased fatigue. If you are frequently tired and feeling fatigued, get your blood checked to find out whether you have an iron deficiency. Proper diagnosis and timely treatment will help reduce the symptoms quickly. 2. Shortness of Breath Due to a low iron level, less oxygen reaches different parts of your body. When the body’s oxygen level is low, it will cause shortness of breath, no matter how deeply you breathe. This shortness of breath occurs even while doing things that you’d normally handle just fine, such as climbing the stairs, taking a short walk or even carrying small objects. The breathlessness can be mild, moderate or severe, and breathing often returns to normal after a rest period. If you need to puff for air more often, get your iron level checked to rule out the possibility of this nutrient deficiency. 3. Pale Skin Another common sign associated with iron deficiency is pale skin or a washed-out appearance. Due to a low iron level, your body is unable to manufacture sufficient hemoglobin. It’s the hemoglobin that gives your blood its red color and your skin its rosy hue. As the iron deficiency worsens, your skin begins to lose its normal color and becomes pale. This sign is more prominent in people who have a lighter skin tone. If your skin starts looking paler than usual and you are not sick, consult a doctor to determine the cause. 4. Brittle Nails If your nails look pale, fragile and brittle, it can be a possible sign of iron deficiency. Along with brittle nails, a concave or spoon-shaped depression in the nails can indicate an insufficient iron level in the body. A low iron level hampers your body’s ability to produce enough hemoglobin, which helps carry oxygen throughout your system, including to your nails. This lack of oxygen prohibits the healthy growth of your nails. Apart from nutritional deficiencies, aging, long-term use of nail polish and frequent exposure to water can lead to brittle nails. 5. Hair Loss There are many possible causes for hair loss and iron deficiency is one of them. A low iron level sends your body into survival mode, during which it channels oxygen to support vital functions as opposed to less important functions like hair growth. In fact, women with iron deficiency are at a risk of telogen hair loss, according to a 2009 study published in Acta Dermatovenerologica Croatica. To find out whether an iron deficiency is the cause of your hair loss, it is important to measure the amount of ferritin in the blood. 6. Craving Nonfood Substances Pica is a condition in which a person has an unusual craving for non nutritive substances that can cause significant health risks. This condition can be sign of a low level of iron or other nutrients in the body. In a 2010 study published in the Journal of Medical Case Reports, experts considered pica an important sign of iron deficiency that should never be ignored. A recent 2014 study published in the Journal of Nutrition found that pregnant teens with significantly lower iron levels had cravings for ice, cornstarch, vacuum dust, baby powder, soap and other nonfood items. If you are craving nonfood items, bring it to the attention of your doctor to find out the exact reason behind it. Music: Royalty Free Music from Bensound
