The dramatic increase in average life expectancy during the 20th century, ranks as one of society's greatest achievements. Even the less developed regions of the world have experienced a steady increase in life expectancy since world war ii. In this video, i am going to share with you top 10 countries with longest life expectancy in the world. Number 1. Japan, “The Land of the Rising Sun.” With an estimated population of 127 million, and where rice, sushi, and tempura are the most popular dishes, japan has a life expectancy of 86.8 years for women, 80.5 years for men, or a combined of 83.7 years. With plenty of fresh vegetables and fish on the menu, on average, Japanese women can expect to live almost 90 years, and Japanese men can live well past 80. Number 2. Switzerland, “The Land of Chocolate and Cuckoo Clocks.” Home to numerous lakes, villages, and the high peaks of the alps, Switzerland has an estimated population of 8.3 millions, and boasts a life expectancy of 85.3 years for women, 81.3 years for men, or a combined average of 83.4 years. Different studies point to wealth, a sense of well-being, and diet that includes love of dairy products, as some of the reasons. Number 3. Singapore, “The Lion City.” This global financial center, Singapore has an estimated population of 5.6 millions, and a life expectancy of 86.1 years for women, 80 years for men, or a combined average of 83.1 years. From 50 centenarians in 1990, Singapore now boasts a total of 1,100 centenarians in just 26 years. Number 4. Australia, “The Land Down Under.” The Australian bureau of statistics show that the life expectancy for Australian women is 84.8 years, 80.9 years for men, or a combined average of 82.8 years. Why are Australians living longer? According to the organization for economic cooperation and development, “Australia's universal health care system is one of the best in the world,” with an above-average of 2,400 dollars spent on healthcare per person in 2010. Number 5. Spain, “The Land of Hyraxes.” Recent world health organization data show Spain has a life expectancy of 85.5 years for women, 80.1 years for men, or a combined average of 82.8 years. With a population of 46 millions, Spain boasts around 15,000 centenarians, with more than 500 persons already 110 years old and older. There are several reasons why the Spaniards are living longer. Among them is the positive health effects of a Mediterranean diet. One report showed that it can reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes by 30 percent. Number 6. Iceland, “The Land of Fire and Ice.” This Nordic island nation is defined not only by its dramatic landscape of volcanoes, geysers, hot springs and lava fields, but also for having one of the highest life expectancies in the world. For women, life expectancy is 84.1 years, 81.2 years for men, or a combined average of 82.7 years. What is the secret? A fish-heavy diet full of heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids has been cited by some as a reason why so many on this glacier-topped island of 320,000 people live well into the golden age. Number 7. Italy, “The Boot.” This “boot” shaped nation has a combined life expectancy of 82.7 years, 84.4 years for women, and 80.5 years for men. A small village of Acciaroli is an excellent example of Italians' long life expectancy. This village has a population of only 2,000, yet the village boasts some 300 elders who have reached the age of 100 - and about 20 percent of those centenarians have reached 110. Number 8. Israel, “The Holy Land.” Regarded by Jews, Christians, and Muslims as the biblical holy land, Israel boasts a combined life expectancy of 82.5 years, 84.3 years for women, and 80.6 years for men. What makes Israelis live longer? Efi Gil, a psychologist at Rabin Medical Center, points to family cohesiveness as one of the reasons, while Gabi Ben Dor, a sociologist at Haifa University, cites positive outlook in life as a contributing factor, and Devora Lieberman, director of geriatrics at Soroka Medical Center, considers good life among the elderlies as a major element. Number 9. Sweden, “The Land of the Vikings.” This Scandinavian nation with thousands of coastal islands and inland lakes, Sweden has a combined life expectancy of 82.4 years, 84 years for women, and 80.7 years for men. According to a recent survey, Sweden is the best country in the world in which to grow old. A generous welfare and pensions, reliable transport, and community spirit give the country's over-60 population the greatest quality of life. Number 10. France, “The Land of the Franks.” Known for its medieval cities, alpine villages, and Mediterranean beaches, France is tied with Sweden when it comes to life expectancy. France's progress follows 60 years of steadily rising life expectancy. The improvement was due to advances in the fight against cancer and heart disease, more extensive screening against diseases, and lower rates of smoking and alcoholism - particularly among men.

Air pollution is just one of the many problems the earth is facing right now. It has been a major environmental risk that affects millions of people leading to numbers of fatalities and several diseases like stroke, heart disease, lung cancer, chronic and acute respiratory illnesses like asthma. The air we breathe is essential to our body as it needs enough supply of oxygen in order to maintain the healthiness of the organs and the systems of the body. Some countries already developed several policies to reduce air pollution. But there are still numerous industries and other factors that contribute to the severity of the case mostly in the developing countries. The most harmful pollutant called the PM 2.5 is a tiny particle commonly found in soot, smoke and dust. This tiny pollutant causes chronic lung illnesses when it has penetrated the lungs. The Particulate Matter (PM) is composed of sulfate, nitrates, ammonia, sodium chloride, black carbon, mineral dust and water. Usually, those with diameters less than 10 microns are already considered the most-harmful health damaging particles that can severely affect the lungs, according to the World Health Organization. However, there are other factors that cause serious health problems from air pollution aside from PM which includes the Ozone, nitrogen dioxide, and sulfur dioxide. Clean air has become minimal and in demand nowadays. As people get sick every day, lives are also at stake due to these pollutants hovering the air. Although we tend to focus on the most polluted cities and countries in the world, here is the list of the top ten cities with the cleanest air in the world. The list was based according to the data released by the WHO with the lowest ozone, chronic and acute PM in the air. So if ever you wish to breathe some clean air, visit these cities and discover why. 10: TALLINN, ESTONIA 9: ZURICH, SWITZERLAND 8: STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN 7: HELSINKI, FINLAND 6: OTTAWA, CANADA 5: CALGARY, CANADA 4: GREAT FALLS, USA 3: HONOLULU, USA 2: SANTA FE, USA 1: WHITEHORSE, CANADA --------------------------------------------- Music: NCS https://www.youtube.com/user/NoCopyrightSounds Alan Walker - Fade [NCS Release] goo.gl/wSm6qF Itro - Panda [NCS Release] goo.gl/ZN1ytX Itro Tobu - Cloud 9 [NCS Release] --------------------------------------------- Thanks for watching!

These are the most dangerous ports in the world. This should be a travel warning for tourists due to criminality and danger these destinations bring with them. Subscribe for new videos: http://goo.gl/SaufF4 Voiceover by Rodney Tompkins: https://www.youtube.com/c/BigBadada2012 8: Saint Lucia Saint Lucia, located in the Eastern Caribbean, is reportedly one of the cruise destination most preferred by travelers. However, it seems that the island is more dangerous than local tourism officials like to admit. As the British Government states, “there have been incidents of crime including murder, armed robbery and sexual assault”. On April 12th, 2013, 55 Celebrity Eclipse Cruise passengers and two crew members were allegedly robbed at gunpoint by three men while visiting the Botanical Gardens 7: Venezuela The Venezuelan ports are not at all recommended for cruise travelers. Venezuela is reportedly one of the 25 most dangerous countries in the world, and one of the deadliest. Its criminality is rated as “critical” by the State Department. The CIA’s website notes there is “significant narcotics-related money-laundering activity, especially along the border with Colombia on Margarita Island”. Furthermore, on February 7th, 2014, a gunman allegedly shot dead a German tourist, during an attempted robbery, on Margarita Island 6: The Ports of Antigua Antigua, an island located in the West Indies, is rich in ports and harbors. Travelers often visit its capital and chief port, St. John’s, by cruise ship. Although it is seen as a Caribbean paradise, as described by travel writers and cruise bloggers who accept to hide the ugly side of ports in exchange for free perks, Antigua is reportedly one of the most impoverished islands in the area. Criminality is at high rates, and tourists often fall victim to thieves 5: Haifa, Eilat and Ashdod, Israel The Haifa, Eilat and Ashdod ports in Israel are in proximity to conflict zones. Ashdod is only 18 miles from Gaza, while Haifa lies 87 miles from the border with Lebanon. The political and military tensions in the area make the ports unsafe for visitors. On August 23rd, 2016, the State Department issued a travel warning for Israel, The West Bank and Gaza. “U.S. Citizens should exercise caution and remain aware of their surroundings when traveling to areas where there are heightened tensions and security risks 4: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Although Rio de Janeiro is a real touristic attraction for foreigners visiting Brazil, it is notoriously dangerous. It is not only the original breeding ground for the Zika virus outbreak, but also known for its high crime level. Tourists are often robbed by thieves that usually run rampant on beaches and on the streets of the city. The waters are highly polluted and infected with bacteria, and visitors 3: Aden, Yemen Aden Gulf in Yemen has one of the most dangerous ports in the world. It is home for piracy and security has deteriorated in the past years, as Yemen is still at war and the government is fighting with terrorist groups al-Qaida, Islamic State and Houthi rebels. The waters of the coast of Somalia are so dangerous, that ship captains allegedly turn off the exterior lights and also the GPS broadcasts while sailing in the area. Furthermore, the port city has been recently targeted by terrorists. On April 12th, 2016, four people died and another seven were injured in an explosion 2: Nassau, Bahamas Nassau is reportedly the most dangerous of the ports in the Bahamas, and has one of the highest criminality rates in the Caribbean. Tourists that step off the cruise ship in Nassau are vulnerable to armed robberies, sexual assault, murders and drug trafficking. “We receive more complaints about crime in Nassau than all of the other ports in the Caribbean combined”, reportedly stated Jim Walker, a Maritime Lawyer who has investigated the most dangerous ports of call for travelers. On November 22nd, 2016, in one of the most recent murders cases in Nassau 1: Honduras Honduras, an independent country located in Central America, was declared the number one destination for homicides by the UN. On August 4th, 2016, the U. S. State Department sent out a travel warning for the U.S. citizens, stating that “the level of kidnapping, crime, and violence in Honduras remains critically high”. A similar travel warning had been previously issued back in October 2015. Since 2010, the port has had one of the highest murder rates in the world. In March 2014, several tourists and cruise visitors

Although the USA has evolved into an overwhelmingly metropolitan nation over the last few decades just over half of the country’s population (according to year 2000 statistics) still live in towns and cities with fewer than 25,000 people. The country is still made up of many small towns, some of which have low dwindling populations. There’s one town in the States where you could double the population just by showing up. Why Cancer death rates dropping more slowly in rural America? Cancer deaths are 'astoundingly high' in rural America as rates in cities plummet, CDC report reveals Cancer-related deaths are soaring in rural parts of the United States, despite falling overall in the rest of the country, it was revealed. A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report on Thursday detailed the differences in types of cancer and rates of cancer-related death in different parts of America. But, rural America has higher rates of certain cancers associated with tobacco use, such as lung cancer (bottom), or those that could be diagnosed through early screenings, such as colorectal (center) or cervical (top). Rural healthcare providers are also encouraged to make increased use of screenings, such as colonoscopies or Pap tests. More than 46 million Americans, or 15 percent of the country's population, live in rural areas, and face numerous health disparities compared to their urban counterparts, according to the CDC. please subscribe my channel.

Who on Earth is exposed to the most ionizing radiation? Check out Audible: http://bit.ly/AudibleVe I'm filming a documentary for TV about how Uranium and radioactivity have shaped the modern world. It will be broadcast in mid-2015, details to come. The filming took me to the most radioactive places on Earth (and some places, which surprisingly aren't as radioactive as you'd think). Chernobyl and Fukushima were incredible to see as they present post-apocalyptic landscapes. I also visited nuclear power plants, research reactors, Marie Curie's institute, Einstein's apartment, nuclear medicine areas of hospitals, uranium mines, nuclear bomb sites, and interviewed numerous experts. Notes about measuring radiation: Sieverts are a measure of 'effective dose' - that means they measure the biological impact of the energy transferred to tissues from radiation. Obviously I owe a debt to the fantastic chart made by xkcd, which inspired my visual approach to this video. https://xkcd.com/radiation/ DOSES MAY VARY The level of radiation varies widely around the world depending mainly on altitude and geology (excluding nuclear accidents). Estimates of particular doses also vary. All numbers reported in this video should be taken as order of magnitude only. The most contentious claim may be that smokers receive the highest dose of ionizing radiation. This is not a whole body dose, but a dose to the lungs as specified in the video. Both states have more public land than all other states. But... other than that, it doesn’t seem like there is much in common between the bordering states, which is a bit surprising. First of all, Utah is younger. There are more kids there. In fact, a higher percentage of babies are born in Utah each year compared to all other states, not just Nevada. It also has the largest family sizes in the country. 47% of Nevada residents are married, compared to 57% of Utah residents. Utah is more Caucasian. It has few minorities. Nevada, on the other hand, is much more diverse. Nevada’s Hispanic population is quickly approaching 30 percent of the state. Utah is more educated. Whatever that means, right? Well, for the purposes of this video, that means they have a higher percentage of people who graduated from college and high school. 41% have a college education in Utah, compared to 32% in Nevada. Related to this, Nevada has a much higher poverty rate, which is around 21 percent. Utah’s is just 11 percent. Utah’s unemployment rate has been significantly lower than Nevada’s since 2003. Utah appears to have a much better health care system than Nevada. According to US News, Utah ranks #15 out of the 50 states for health care while Nevada ranks #37. By most standards, Utah residents are much healthier than Nevada residents. Nevada has the worst ranking in the United States for immunizations and mothers receiving poor prenatal care. Its suicide rate is the second highest in the country. Meanwhile, Utah has the lowest infant mortality rate in the country, the lowest cancer death rate in the country, and the lowest percentage of adults who smoke in the country. During the Cold War, the United States conducted 928 nuclear tests in Nevada, and 0 in Utah. However, Utah had plenty of “downwinders,” or people exposed to the nuclear fallout from these tests. Politically speaking, Nevada residents generally lean to the left and Utah residents generally lean to the right. Nevada has voted for the Democratic candidate the last three presidential elections, while Utah has voted for the Republican candidate the last 13. If you dig deeper, you’ll find Nevada is extremely more libertarian compared to Utah. More on that in a bit. Both states have very different histories. Utah was founded by Mormons, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a religion founded in the United States in 1830 by Joseph Smith. The Mormons had fled west to escape persecution back east. Today, Mormon influence is evident no matter where you go in Utah. The church has a huge influence on the state’s culture and traditions. This explains much of the strong family ties in the state, the outlawing of alcohol and tobacco, and the fairly boring nightlife. Nevada, on the other hand, has the most exciting nightlife in the country. Las Vegas truly is the city that never sleeps.

보건복지부 암지도 발간 The health ministry has published a map of the nation... pinpointing the rate of cancers of different types across the country. The authorities hope to use the data to take preventative action based on the needs of each region. Kim Hyo-sun tells us more. Korea's Ministry of Health and Welfare has created the country's first cancer map... that identifies different types of cancer by district, city and province. The map, published as part of a report released Tuesday in conjunction with the National Cancer Center, also offers an in-depth analysis of the development of 24 types of cancer based on data collected from 1999 to 2013. Liver cancer was found to be the most prevalent in Ulleung-gun County, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province,... which has a high rate of alcohol consumption,... while thyroid cancer was predominant in metropolitan areas,... which tend to provide greater access to thyroid cancer check-ups. For example, a high number of thyroid cancer patients can be found in regions with darker colors on the map,.. including cities like Yeosu and Gwangyang and most of the rest of Jeollanam-do Province,... as well as major cities like Seoul, Daegu and Daejeon. Gallbladder cancer developed most frequently in the Nakdong-gang River basin area,... and the report points to the dietary habits of area residents as the main cause. People living in major cities like Seoul tended to have higher rates of breast and prostate cancer... than other parts of the nation,... and the report cites the high number of check-ups available in urban areas as the reason. Experts were not, however, able to identify why stomach and liver cancers are more prevalent in certain areas. Health authorities say the cancer map will now be used to help to identify cancer prevention measures by region. Kim Hyo-sun, Arirang News. According to the World Health Organization, this is the average life expectancy in the country of Sierra Leone. As of now, one of the lowest in the world. At the other end of the spectrum, we have countries like Italy, Iceland, Singapore and Switzerland all with an average life expectancy well into their 80’s. Now beating all those countries however, is (of course) Japan, topping the list at 83.7 years. (Note that the UN data is a little different). Regardless, this is the country with the longest average life expectancy. But, this video is not about Japan, because there is a city with an even longer life expectancy. This is Hong Kong, a city with over 7.4 million people living on about a thousand square kilometres of land. One of the most densely populated places on the planet - a fast paced city that never sleeps. It’s a city of contradictions with towering buildings next to lush green mountains, street food stalls alongside McDonald’s & KFC’s, markets selling cheap counterfeits in front of designer stores, but the most surprising perhaps is the extremely long life expectancy of the people living in what is one of the most polluted cities in the world. Hong Kong has an average life expectancy of 84.3 years. Ironically enough, Hong Kong literally translates to ‘Fragrant Harbour’. Follow us on TWITTER: http://twitter.com/cnforbiddennews Like us on FACEBOOK: http://www.facebook.com/chinaforbiddennews Chinese Cancer Registration Center's latest data show that cancer cases and mortality have increased over the past years. Every minute, six people were diagnosed with cancer, and five people die of cancer. Experts say that deformity of industrialization and urbanization policies had worsened environmental pollution, tainted food, pressure of work and living, as well as stress are the main causes of the severe cancer problem. According to the 2012 Cancer Registry Annual Report issued in early 2013, there are 3.12 million cancer cases each year. It means six people were diagnosed with cancer every minute. Each year, 2.7 million people died of cancer, which means five people died of cancer every minute. Experts say that the cause of cancer is complex. Environmental pollution is the major one. Professor Wong Tze-wai, School of Public Health and Primary Care in Hong Kong: Pollution of environment, soil, water and air, as well as lifestyle problems and unhealthy food can cause cancer. The medical profession believes 90% of cancer cases are caused by environmental factors. Chinese Anti-Cancer Association (CACA) held an experts meeting in March. Li Guangcan, the secretary of CACA in Hubei said that lung cancer is the number one cancer in the cities. It indicates the great impact of air pollution. The authoritative data show that over the past 30 years, the death rate of lung cancer has risen 464% in China, lung cancer is the number one killer. Wong Tze-wai: in Mainland China, air pollution is very severe. After a long-term study in foreign countries, we have found that air pollution, especially rising vehicle emissions caused air pollution, in major cities, air pollution is the important factor in causing lung cancer. Different from people living in the city, digestive system cancer has the highest cancer rate for people living in rural areas. CACA experts say that water pollution is the leading cause of digestive system cancer. There are several hundred cancer villages in Central and Eastern region in China. Water sources are contaminated to different degrees. In polluted villages, the majority of people suffer from carcinoma of the gallbladder, stomach cancer, colorectal cancer, esophageal cancer and other digestive cancers. High levels of poisonous heavy metals also cause different types of diseases. The death rate has increased yearly. Netizens wrote: In cancer villages, mosquitoes died out, which upset the birds. Graveyards adds a new tomb every day, crying is heard, soaring to the sky. The sky is no longer blue and the river is smelly. Thirty years of industrialization has turned the place into a living hell. Experts say that Chinese food safety is one of factors causing cancer. The latest CACA data shows that China has highest gastric cancer rate, there are 934,000 new gastric cancer cases each year in the world, of which 40,000 cases occurring in Mainland China. Prevalence and mortality have exceeded the world levels by 2. This is precisely related to "black heart food" and "contaminated food". Wong Tze-wai: I know, for example, everyone has concerns about food additives, pesticides or heavy metal pollution. Many such materials will run into our food. Experts concluded that environmental pollution and food safety issues in Mainland China were caused by government policy of sacrificing the environment to develop industry. Wong Tze-wai: For example, industrialization, it is not a new problem. The regime didn't learn very much from previous experience. Many Chinese scholars, experts, scientists and the healthcare industry knew that it was not their fault; it is the deformity of policing the issue, which caused the problem, it is beyond their control. I mean, it is a systematic problem, the system determines the policy. Chen Wanqing, deputy director of the Cancer Registration Center in China estimated that in the next 10 years, China's cancer incidence and mortality rate will continue to increase. By 2020, the total number of annual cancer deaths will reach 3 million, incidences will increase to 6.6 million. The authority's economic shortsightedness will cost the next several generations' health and life. 《神韵》2013世界巡演新亮点 http://www.ShenYunPerformingArts.org/

Despite irrefutable scientific evidence calling out the dangers of asbestos, 2 million tons of the carcinogen are exported every year to the developing world, where it's often handled with little to no regulation. For this episode of VICE Reports, correspondent Milène Larsson traveled to the world's largest asbestos mine in the eponymous town of Asbest, Russia, to meet workers whose livelihoods revolve entirely around the dangerous mineral. Surprisingly, the risks associated with asbestos mining didn't seem to worry the inhabitants; in fact, asbestos is the city's pride, celebrated with monuments, songs, and even its own museum. Larsson then visits Libby, Montana, another mining town almost on the other side of the globe, where the effects of asbestos exposure are undeniable: 400 townspeople have died from asbestos-related diseases, and many more are slowly choking to death. Why is the deadly industry of mining and selling asbestos still alive and well? Each year our breast health nurses travel around New Zealand in our iconic Pink Caravan, to talk about mammograms, checking your breasts, healthy lifestyles and family risk. They visit our country’s smaller towns – places that don’t have access to the variety of health services the bigger cities do. Our breast nurses would love to have a chat to you, so if the Pink Caravan comes to your town, pop in and say hi.

Has a video been demonetized, removed from recommended, or buried by search? These codes will tell you why. When Youtube's automated demonetization bot determines that an upload features non-advertiser friendly content, secret codes are attached to the video's metadata. Some of these numbers have now been decoded. Additionally, there is now statistical evidence that these demonetized videos are being suppressed within Youtube's search and discovery algorithms. The '90s saw a dramatic decrease in crime across the United States. Many argued that an increase of cops on the streets was key in fighting crime. Others argue that a better economy and better access to abortion is what helped reduce crime rates. So what was it? AJ+ teamed up with The Marshall Project to track three reasons the '90s saw crime rates fall. Is it related to mass incarceration and the prison population, the broken windows theory, abortion, a decrease in poverty, lead, and or something else? Please take the time to listen to ALL of the conference call with the Georgia DPH. Our community has reported 3 cancer clusters since 2013 for their evaluation. The last cancer cluster being analyzed by the VETERINARIAN assigned to our 4 HUMAN cases of childhood SARCOMA diagnosed within 58 days of each other - 1 Ewing and 3 Rabdomyosarcoma. Despite providing DPH with the CORRECT information, they still got it wrong on the call. We have again supplied them with the correct information. Of the 3 VERY RARE Rabdomyosarcoma , 2 of the children live in Waycross and the 3rd lives 14 miles away in Brantley County BUT the mom lived in Waycross near the areas of concern around CSX while pregnant. The veterinarian assigned to our childhood cancer cases also states there are 'NO KNOWN' environmental causes to Sarcoma. Human doctors in the field seem to disagree; see link - http://www.healthandenvironment.org/tddb/disease/733 ESG, the city water contractor, has yet to provide the well head data and the PAH testing for the city wells that was promised on the call. Please ask yourself 3 important questions - 1. How can DPH properly evaluate a cancer cluster in our area without knowing the number of children in our area when cancer clusters are determined based on the number of children? 2. If the city water has been tested, why doesn't someone provide the results for the well heads and the PAH testing? 3. Why is a veterinarian looking at such an important issue as our children's health in the first place?

This new technology-enabled approach ensures lesser dose of radiation and therefore, lesser toxicity to the surrounding healthy tissues. He visualized the future prospects of cancer care over a period upto 2030, with optimism. He said with the help of the latest technology and early cancer detection the focus has changed more towards organ conservation compared to the traditional ways of radical surgery as in cases of breast cancer. Commenting on the symposium he said, “I am pleased to be part of this awareness drive in a region of India, where cancer rate is the highest in India. Cost effectiveness coupled with treatment using new technologies is a must for the future of good healthcare in India”. Dr. Hemant Singhal, a renowned breast surgeon from the UK, is well known for innovative techniques in breast conservation surgery. Dr. Singhal strongly commented, “Breast cancer is still undetected in Tier I metros of India, Tier II & Tier III cities have a long way to go. Greater awareness of treatment in masses and also for such diagnosis and therapies to reach the grassroots is the desperate need of the hour”. Dr. Aditya Gupta delivered a talk on innovative approaches for treating Brain Tumours – such therapies are required in every town and city and will enhance the safety and outcomes of surgery on such challenging cases. Commenting on the technology revolution in Neurosurgery, Dr. Aditya Gupta said, “Gone are the days when a patient should consider the diagnosis of brain tumor to be a death sentence. With high precision imaging and technology guidance and targeted therapy, many such patients, especially those with benign tumors can hope to live completely normal lives. The critical combination is teamwork and technology”. Dr. R K Mani, CEO Medical and Chairman at Nayati Healthcare presented the current management principles of cancer patients with life threatening complications from the disease as well as the treatment. He said, “New concepts and innovations will result in making a significant difference to a hitherto gloomy scenario. The death rate from complications of cancer can be reduced by half by improving the effectiveness of critical care”. The symposium concluded with a session by Dr. G K Rath, who is Chief of the IRCH at AIIMS, and a key member of several committees for cancer infrastructure planning in India drew from his vast experience to articulate a realistic approach and action plan for ‘What we must do now’ for cancer care in India. Dr. Rath emphasised that, “If centres at a mass scale at the community level are not developed, then we will not be able to handle the cancer epidemic; moreover humane care and repeat visits require such centres to be located close to the treated population”. The symposium was attended by renowned doctors and surgeons from across Uttar Pradesh. It was organised by Nayati Healthcare and Research Pvt. Ltd, coming up with a chain of multi super speciality hospitals in second tier cities in the tertiary care segment. Their first 336 bed multi super speciality hospital is soon to commence operations in Mathura, in the first phase with advanced technology, infrastructure and leading doctors chosen from all over the country.
