Vegan Cream Cheese Review- 5 different brands

19:03
We tested out all of the Vegan cream cheeses there currently are on the market. We are trying them out and rating them for, so you know which ones are worth buying. There is just NO reason to be buying real cream cheese anymore. These days there are more than enough great vegan alternatives. You can find them everywhere. Ignorance is not bliss, it's not bliss for your health and it sure isn't bliss for the poor animals. Learn the truth and evolve. Pick up one of these Vegan cream cheeses next time you are going to have a bagel for breakfast. Your family will love it. If they don't love one kind, try another, you will find one you like! Products mentioned -Trader Joe's cream cheese (only found at a Trader Joe's) -Follow your heart cream cheese http://followyourheart.com/products/cream-cheese-3/ -Tofutti cream cheese http://www.tofutti.com/dairy-free-cheeses/cream-cheese/ -Daiya cream cheese http://us.daiyafoods.com/products/dairy-free-cream-cheese/plain-cream-cheese-style-spread -Go Veggie! http://goveggiefoods.com/products/cream-cheese/dairy-free/chive-garlic Why dairy is wrong morally (short clips) http://youtu.be/GzS8p727gvM http://youtu.be/uK2WGPwcsa8 http://youtu.be/Q4qQNi3WZdQ Why dairy is wrong/Why you should go Vegan -Best speech ever, a must watch!- http://youtu.be/UROxRLbVils -Earthlings. Another must watch if you aren't a vegan- http://youtu.be/ce4DJh-L7Ys Why dairy (and all animal protein) is bad for your health -Forks over knives preview (watch full movie on Netflix) http://youtu.be/GfY2C4WaJ3s -Watch Vegucated on Netflix too. Talks about health and animals. Books to read -The China Study -The End of Dieting -Eat to Live and any books by Colin Campbell, Joel Fuhrman, Neal Barnard, John Mcdougall. Some more info- Tofutti says that their cream cheese is Non-GMO. If you are concerned about health, I suggest you look for the Non-Hydrogenated Plain cream cheese (like we did). Unfortunately Tofutti is very late to the party when it comes to removing yucky, unhealthy ingredients, such as partially hydrogenated oil. It is great that they have an all vegan product line. However they advertise their products as being vegan *and healthy. Which there is nothing healthy about partially hydrogenated oil. I remember trying out their products, like their vegan cheese slices, since 1999 (because I've been a vegetarian for ever, so I would try out vegan products as well). I remember becoming more health conscious and writing to them asking to please remove their bad ingredients so their products wouldn't be so unhealthy. Many years went by and it never happened. Finally, here we are 2014, and they are finally getting with the program. They probably realize that they don't have much of a choice now, since all these other great brands are coming out with vegan and actual healthier cream cheese options. Almost everyone is going to choose the healthier version over the unhealthy, crappy version. So I thought I would explain that a little bit, if you were wondering why we said we weren't Tofutti fans. That is the reason. They ruin a good thing. They are a vegan brand, using sh*tty ingredients. Which is a real bummer. Like I said, they are finally starting to fix this problem after many, many, many years and many people complaining. I am happy for this, but I am still disappointing that they went that long choosing to use poor quality ingredients, rather spend a little more money to make a good quality product for their customers. They were being cheap and in the process they were serving people crap. Having said all of this, just know that in my opinion, I would rather have a bad Tofutti product, with partially hydrogenated oil over real cream cheese made from milk. With cholesterol, hormones, pus, and sadness. That's an easy decision for me. But the point is we shouldn't have to swap out bad ingredients for another bad ingredient. Now on to Trader Joe's Vegan cream cheese... I wasn't too familiar with Trader Joe's, but did some research. All their products are non-GMO. Here's an article from Trader Joe's. http://www.traderjoes.com/about/customer-updates-responses.asp?i=4 I also thought it was cool that I found this list. http://www.traderjoes.com/pdf/lists/list-vegan.pdf ...and by the way, if any vegans are reading this. Just be aware that the brand Go Veggie is not all vegan. They have vegan and non-vegan products. Their cheese slices and shredded cheeses have casein in them, which makes them NOT vegan friendly. If you want to see them change all of their products over to being vegan friendly, please take a moment and drop them a line. I just did. http://goveggiefoods.com/about-us/contact/

7 Best supplements that will clean your arteries naturally at home

04:06
7 Best supplements that will clean your arteries naturally at home : Heart attacks are caused by the blood supply to the heart being suddenly interrupted. Without this supply, heart muscles may be damaged and begin to die. fatty deposits called plaque buildup in your arteries, they can narrow the vessels and raise your risk of atherosclerosis and heart disease. Several supplements are available that, over time, might help dissolve plaque and improve the function of your arteries, lowering your risk of chronic circulatory problems. Here are 7supplements that can help you unclog your arteries 1. Take fish oil supplements. If you don’t like fish or don’t have access to fish, you can simply take fish oil supplements to help get omega-3 fats. Look for fish oils that contain EPA and DHA oils. Although you might expect consuming fat to increase arterial plaque, omega-3 fatty acids may help slow plaque deposition and, over time, reduce its amount, according to experts at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Consuming supplements containing these unsaturated, healthy fatty acids can lower levels of blood triglycerides while raising levels of HDL, helping to keep your blood cholesterol in a healthy range. They may also help prevent inflammation of the arterial lining and reduce the risk of blood clots, both of which promote plaque deposits. 2. Take psyllium supplements. If you have difficulty getting enough fiber from foods, you can take psyllium supplements. Psyllium is a water-soluble fiber available in pill and powder forms. 3. Increase soy protein through supplements. Soy proteins are commonly available as powders that you can mix into a variety of foods and beverages (juices, smoothies, etc.). Several studies have shown that soy protein supplementation can have a beneficial effect on your cholesterol levels. 4. Take niacin supplements. You can also take niacin (vitamin B3) to help lower cholesterol levels. However, talk to your physician and monitor niacin supplementation closely. Common side effects at high doses include: • Flushing of the skin • Stomach upset • Headaches • Dizziness • Blurred vision • Increased risk of liver damage 5. Garlic Supplement. Garlic isn't just a culinary herb but is also a useful supplement if you're concerned about arterial plaque and atherosclerosis, according to evidence summarized at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Garlic contains a compound that's converted into allicin when cloves are crushed. Allicin could help lower blood levels of cholesterol by suppressing a liver enzyme that makes cholesterol. This eventually reduces plaque so You can simply add more fresh garlic to your food or take garlic supplements if you don’t enjoy garlic in foods. 6. Take plant sterol supplements. Beta-sitosterol and sitostanol are two additional supplements that may have a positive impact on cholesterol. You can find these options in supplement form at most vitamin shops or health food stores. 7. Take coenzyme Q-10 (CoQ-10) supplements. CoQ-10 is an essential nutrient used to treat a variety of heart and blood vessel conditions. It can also counteract muscle pain resulting from other cholesterol-lowering medications called “statins.” Consider taking CoQ-10 if your doctor has prescribed one of these medications. check out my other similar videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFE8MFBZURI 😍 15 Foods That Unclog Arteries Naturally And Protect Against Heart Attack https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-yVQyl2k4s 😍 7 Lifestyle Changes That Will Clean Your Arteries Naturally And Protect You From Heart Attack NOTE: The materials and the information contained onNatural ways channel are provided for general and educational purposes only and do not constitute any legal, medical or other professional advice on any subject matter. TIMESTAMPS How does the ketogenic diet work? 0:41 Different types of ketogenic diet. 2:11 Foods you should base your meals around. 3:15 Foods you should avoid. 3:59 7-day ketogenic meal plan 5:01 Unpleasant side effects you might face 10:09 Health benefits of ketogenic diet 10:51 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY -When you follow the ketogenic diet, it becomes easier for your system to get access to your fat stores and burn them off. As a result, you lose weight incredibly fast. -There are actually a few versions you can choose from depending on your preferences: standard ketogenic diet, cyclical ketogenic diet, targeted ketogenic diet, high-protein ketogenic diet. -You should base the majority of your meals around these foods and ingredients: meat, fatty fish, pastured or omega-3 whole eggs, grass-fed butter and cream, unprocessed cheese, nuts and seeds, healthy oils, low-carb vegetables, healthy herbs and spices. -As for the foods you should avoid under any circumstances, they are: sugary foods, fruits, grains or starches, beans or legumes, root vegetables and tubers, products labelled “low-fat” or “diet”, unhealthy fat, alcohol. -Use this 7-day ketogenic meal plan as a model to build your own plan. Blood Test Results After 481 Food Challenges!!

04:58
Mitch and I will soon be leaving to spend my summer break in Australia, New Zealand, and possibly Singapore doing food challenges. While we are "down under," we will finish posting the videos from our 2016 European Tour, and will then move on to posting all our 2016-2017 Northwest USA Winter Tour videos. I got really BIG during the second half of our 2016 European Tour, and many people are commenting about my current weight and health, not knowing the videos were filmed in 2016. Therefore, I wanted to get all my blood levels and everything tested and publish the results before we leave, confirming for our subscribers that I am a professional and I am not just some idiot with a death wish and no real regard for my physique and personal health. All three pages from the blood test and urinalysis are posted in this video. To analyze them more closely, just pause the video where needed. There are about 60 videos waiting to be posted, which will upload over the course of the next 25 to 30 weeks. They all took place and were filmed prior to the blood test that I did on May 11, 2017. This video was filmed on May 16, 2017. Thanks to everyone who watches and supports our channel, since you all allow Mitch and I to do what we do. I have 481 food challenge wins and all 481 took place before this blood test occurred. When there are negative comments in future videos, I will simply be copy & pasting the link for this video to make sure people know that I am doing just fine and maintaining control of my physical health. You all are welcome to do that too, I appreciate all help and support. Please note as a disclaimer that there is no "agenda" related with this video. I am not trying to prove anything regarding the "healthiness" of food challenges or anything else that is debatable. This video just states facts regarding my blood test results & urinalysis data. Also note that I'm in dietetics school at Missouri State University to become a registered/licensed dietitian in 2020. Top 10 Snacks for Diabetes

09:48
Get the best diabetes management guide here https://goo.gl/hcgQSk Let’s face it. One of the main problems those of us with diabetes have is our hunger and trying to find those in between meal snacks that are satisfying and taste good while also helping us maintain our blood sugar. When it comes to snacks, or any food for that matter, I always look at the Glycemic Load. There are those who will tell you that the Glycemic Index is what matters, but the glycemic index doesn’t really give you a complete understanding of what a particular food will do to your blood sugar. It simply gives you a number based on 50 carbs of a specific food. The glycemic load takes into account what type of carb we are dealing with and how it truly affects your blood sugar postprandial. I say this so that if you see a food on my list of best snacks and on another “experts” list it is on a list of worst snacks, you will know why. I will give you both the GI and GL of each food on this list. I also do not put my lists in any type of order. So here we go: 1. Popcorn. This is a food you will probably see on some worst snacks list because the GI is a medium 55. But the glycemic load of popcorn is a very low 2.8. In its unprocessed form, popcorn is considered a significant source of whole-grain fiber. I love popcorn for……..breakfast! Yes, popcorn with a little sucrose and 2% milk is a wonderful cereal. You may think I am crazy, fair enough, but try it. It truly is a great snack for anytime. Not just when watching a movie. A small microwave bag is the perfect size for a good snack. 2. Greek Yogurt. Greek Yogurt is rich in calcium, high in protein and probiotics. There are few foods healthier than Greek yogurt. They do have some carbs, but they aren’t significant. Greek only has about 4 grams of sugar per 6 ounce serving. Greek yogurt contains significant amounts of potassium, calcium and magnesium, which is shown to improve blood pressure. Calcium, phosphorous and magnesium are important in bone health also. The GI of Greek yogurt is 11, the GL is zero. Put some strawberries and walnuts in a cup of Greek yogurt and you are going to thank me later! 3. Walnuts. Speaking of walnuts. I am convinced walnuts are the overall best food for you. I know they are expensive, that’s why when I can find them on sale or buy them in bulk, I will jump at the chance. Stored properly they can last a while. Walnuts have a GI and GL of zero meaning that they have no significant effect on raising blood sugar, they are extremely heart healthy and they also contain copper, manganese, vitamin B1 and vitamin B6. Plus they are super rich in omega 3 fatty acids. 4. Strawberries/Blueberries. Strawberries –A great alternative to those with a sweet tooth is strawberries. They are sweet, low in calories and make a great snack. Several human studies have established that people who eat plenty of berries, such as strawberries and blueberries, have a lower risk of both diabetes, heart attacks and dementia. Studies have also linked the high vitamin C content of strawberries to a lower risk of type 2 diabetes. One cup of fresh strawberries provides 160 percent of your daily need of vitamin C. Wanna really good snack? Blend fresh or frozen strawberries and/or blueberries into a smoothie. Both strawberries and blueberries have a low GI in the low 40’s as an average. They have an average GL of 4. 5. Peanut butter. Has anyone ever told you that someone with diabetes shouldn’t eat peanut butter? Tell them they are nuts. Peanut butter has a glycemic index of 14 and a glycemic load of 6. This low ranking means peanut butter helps stabilize blood sugar and insulin levels. Yes, they have a lot of calories and you will see several carbs on the label. But a tablespoon full of peanut butter is an amazing snack to fill you up. Peanut butter is is very low in Cholesterol. It is also a good source of Niacin and Manganese. 6. Apples. I know, another fruit, but a small apple (about the size of a tennis ball) delivers 77 calories, 21 grams of carbohydrate and 4 grams of fiber. It's also a good source of vitamin C and has a smattering of other vitamins and minerals. The main benefit of an apple is the richness they possess in soluble fiber. This fiber keeps you full and slows down the absorption of sugar into your bloodstream helping regulate blood glucose levels. Apples have a GI of 39 and a GL of 4 7. A dark chocolate bar. 8. Boiled eggs. 9. Sting cheese. 10. I may get laughed off youtube for this one. But #10 is peanut M&Ms.

What Do Doctors Say About Veganism

Food As Medicine https://www.foodasmedicinenyc.com Keep in touch with Dr. Michelle McMacken https://www.instagram.com/veg_md/ and Dr. Mauricio Gonzalez https://www.instagram.com/dr.maugonzalez/ US World News & Reports Diet Ratings: http://health.usnews.com/best-diet/vegan-diet Gave the vegan diet a 3.3 for being “really restrictive” and because "it can be lots of work”. These people clearly have no idea of the wide variety of foods outside of the Standard American Diet. Discussing / Debating Why I'm Not Vegan

Decided to finally touch up more so on my Neutral Vegan position rather than my Pro Stance. I've had a lot of debates in the Pro place, and have even convinced a lot of people Veganism is irrefutable, so I figured this would be interesting. The Ketogenic Diet & Kidney Disease

03:14
Take Dr. Berg's Free Keto Mini-Course: http://pxlme.me/-i717vtY or go here: https://www.drberg.com/how-to-do-ketosis Download Keto Essentials https://m.me/drericberg?ref=w2128577 Dr. Berg talks about ketogenic diet and kidney disease. A ketogenic diet is not a high protein diet, it's only consuming 3-6 oz of protein with each meal. There is a condition called ketoacidosis, which is different that nutritional ketosis, and your pH does not raise to any danger levels. Keto can also increase the uric acid, but if you consume enough vegetables, again, you will be fine. The potassium in vegetables is very kidney protective. But high sugar, and high insulin is damaging to the kidney more than anything else. Take a look at a diabetic - they usually end up with long term kidney damage. GMO foods can also effect the kidney, so eat organic. I had another question relating to does ketogenic diet cause kidney disease. Number 1, ketogenic diet is a very natural thing for the body to do. In fact I believe that is was the very first diet that we all were on and our bodies are very used to it. It is a much better fuel running your body on ketones. And the confusion is that a ketogenic diet is a high protein diet and of course high proteins can damage the kidney and the liver as well but it is not but it is not a high protein diet and you are only doing 3 to 6 ounces of protein with each meal. The ketogenic diet is a low carb diet and low carbs are very beneficial to the kidney. High carbohydrates and high sugars are very damaging to the kidney. Let’s take a look at the diabetic, they usually have vision problems, nerve problems and eventually kidney problems and they usually end up kidney dialysis because that amount of sugar is very damaging to the kidneys. High carbohydrates destroy the kidney and low carbohydrates are very safe for the kidney. There is a condition when you have diabetes called ketoacidosis and that means that the pH coming from those ketones and this is from the very unhealthy ketosis by the way. It is very different on the type of ketosis I’m talking about. It is more of a side effect because the body is burning up protein and is turning on ketones and the pH is coming very acid. But you don’t have to worry about that because when you are actively doing just by cutting out the carbs and you are not a diabetic type 1. I’m gonna recommend and I am recommending a lot of vegetables to get your potassium and potassium is very protective on the kidneys. Until you have complete kidney failure and you have kidney dialysis, in that situation you don’t want to consume a lot of protein because you can’t really utilize that protein that’s a completely different situation. But in general, potassium is very protective on kidney and that is why we recommend 7 to 10 cups of vegetables with the ketogenic diet plan to protect the kidney and give it the nutrients that it needs. Another problem with keto is that it increases the uric acid. It is not gonna do that if you keep your vegetables high, but some people can get uric acid stones, gout, simply because they are not consuming enough vegetables. We don’t have to worry about that but recently there are higher incidents of kidney disease. DR. Muscletech Hydroxycut Hardcore Pro Series Review | Worth Your Money?

03:59
Visit http://rawmusclegain.com Muscletech Hydroxycut Hardcore Pro Series Review With the constant hunt for the best fat burner around, it's important to look at everything. Muscletech's hydroxycut hardcore pro series deserves a gander at the goods so to speak. Let's take a look at what the label claims. So here we see that this is for someone who wants to lose weight and get ripped! Interesting part is that it says to be clinically proven in 2 different studies. The first study the test subjects lost 7.3 times more weight than the placebo group. The second study showed that 7.1 times more weight was lost than those in the placebo group. Now here's the interesting part, below in the fine print it states that these studies are based on active ingredients found in the supplement and not the actual supplement itself. So with that said, let's see what the real consumers have been saying about this supplement. Time for some social proof. Reported Pro's: 1) Suppresses appetite 2) Reduces weight in water 3) Prevents muscle loss Reported Con's: 1) Causes headaches 2) Heavy perspiration at night 3) Causes fatigue 4) Ineffective on real fat loss 5) Nauseous feeling Seems like there are an awful amount of cons, let's see if the ratings reflect that. So bodybuilding.com has 165 ratings scoring 7.9. Supplement reviews.com shows 73 ratings at an atrocious 5.3. This is an incredibly low score. This gives us a total of 235 ratings totaling 7.13. It's not looking good for this fat burner, but let's look at the active ingredients to see if we can figure out why. Olea europaea extract - A natural antioxidant derived from the leaves of the olive plant. - Health professionals with the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center explain that olive leaf extract may be used to reduce high blood pressure and elevated cholesterol levels. - Side effects may include fatigue, body aches, headache or other flu-like symptoms. Oleic Acid: - Oleic Acid is an omega-9 fatty acid that comes from vegetable and animal sources like beef, chicken, pork, cheese, butter, peanuts, cashews and almonds. - Oleic acid has been observed to lower the levels of bad cholesterol. - Although it can reduce the chances of artery blockage, it should not be taken in huge amounts for that may prove to be detrimental to one's health, especially in women where an increased risk of developing breast cancer has been reported. Capsaicin - The University of Maryland Medical Center reports that both animal and human studies show capsaicin supplements may increase your body's production of heat for a short time - Also may help to regulate blood sugar levels by affecting the breakdown of carbohydrates after eating. - Although capsaicin is considered safe in moderate amounts, toxicity has been seen in animal experiments in higher dosages. - Both the Drugs website and the University of Maryland Medical Center report that capsaicin may increase the risk of cough if you're on an ACE inhibitor. - Capsaicin can also cause an increase in stomach acid, lessening the effects of antacids. Final Verdict It doesn't seem like hydroxycut hardcore series looks to be a great supplement. Their newer formula has gotten much more positive feedback in comparison. If you were to try hydroxycut hardcore you can expect: - Reduction in water weight - An aid in preventing muscle loss - Less of an appetite. All of that looks to come at a price though, draw backs include: - Headaches - Nausea - Stomach cramps - Excessive night sweats - Not effective for many As stated before, we'd recommend that if you want to try a version of hydroxycut that you go with the newer version, hydroxypro hardcore elite. Effective exercise and a healthy whole food diet abundant in organic vegetables is always best, but a good safe fat burner can play a boosting role. If you'd like to know when your favorite supplements are going on a substantial promotion visit rawmusclegain.com and sign up using our form. Easy Fat Loss Tips: 10 Ways to Cut Calories- Thomas DeLauer

08:29
Easy Fat Loss Tips: 10 Ways to Cut Calories- Thomas DeLauer… Learn more here: http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com -Drink Plain Coffee or Tea: Coffee and tea are among the most widely consumed beverages in US adults. Many people prefer drinking coffee and tea with caloric add-ins like sugar or cream. These add-ins are often dense in energy and fat, but low in nutritional value. In conclusion, drinking coffee/tea with caloric add-ins noticeably increased daily energy intake. However, the energy intake predominantly came from sugar and total/saturated fat. (1) -Consume More Fiber at Breakfast. -Drink Carbonated Water instead of Soda. -Zevia: Zevia is an all-natural zero calorie soda made without artificial sweeteners, is non-GMO, kosher, gluten-free, vegan and contains no colors, dyes or phosphoric acid. Considered all-natural as it uses Stevia as a sweetener. -Regulate Blood Sugar/Glucose: -Lower Cholesterol: Researchers have found that stevia extract effectively decreases elevated serum cholesterol levels, including triglycerides and LDL (“bad cholesterol”), while increasing good HDL cholesterol. (5) -Eat Protein throughout the Day: In a new study featured in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, researchers conducted a systematic review of the evidence on the effect of protein intake on perceived fullness and confirmed that protein does, in fact, make us feel fuller. For the first time, the combination of whey and resistant starch were examined in 70 women. On four different days they consumed a pancake breakfast made with: (1) 45g of regular starch (waxy maize); (2) 45g of regular starch and 20g of whey protein; (3) 40g of resistant starch; (4) 40g of resistant starch and 20g of whey protein. All meals had approximately 400 kcal. All the meals resulted in an increase in energy expenditure during the 3-hour period after ingestion with no differences between the groups. However, the regular starch meals resulted in significantly less fat burning compared to the resistant starch meals. The combination of resistant starch and whey resulted in the highest rate of fat burning over 3 hours. It was also associated with lower blood sugar and higher levels of satiety hormones. The protein containing meals, regardless of whether it was combined with regular starch or resistant starch, resulted in lower ratings of hunger, amount of food to be eaten, and desire to eat while feelings of fullness were higher. These results confirm that whey protein is associated with greater fat oxidation and satiety and that it can be combined with resistant starch to augment the effects further. (6,7) -Watch your salad toppings: You need to be careful when choosing a salad. You really want to stick with veggies and be careful about the other stuff you’re putting on there. Salads can come loaded with cheese, croutons, bacon and even dried fruit that can be really high in calories, so if you’re being very calorie-conscious, it’s best to avoid those. -Order food before you’re hungry: Waiting until you’re hungry to decide what to eat increases your odds of overindulging. Results show that ordering meals when you’re already hungry and ready to eat leads to an overall increase in the number of calories ordered, and suggest that by ordering meals in advance, the likelihood of making indulgent purchases is drastically reduced. (8) -Keep your kitchen clean: In a 2016 study, Conducted at the Cornell Food and Brand Lab and published in Environment and Behavior, researchers found that cluttered kitchens are caloric kitchens. When stressed out females were asked to wait for another person in a messy kitchen - with newspapers on the table, dishes in the sink, and the phone ringing – they ate twice as many cookies compared to women in the same kitchen when it was organized and quiet. In total they ate 53 more calories from cookies in 10 minutes time. (9) -Do more cooking at home: A 2015 study in the journal of Public Health Nutrition found that people who cooked dinner six or seven nights a week consumed about 150 calories fewer per day than those who cooked once a week or less. -Cut back on cooking oil: On average, a tablespoon of cooking oil has about 120 calories. You can use a few tablespoons of chicken, beef, or vegetable broth, which will prevent sticking, slash calories and will still add flavor. -Don’t eat in front of the TV: Eating while watching television is asking for trouble. at least watching action films/thrillers. Not only can we overeat because we’re not paying attention to portion sizes, but our brains may not fully register that we’ve eaten at all. Researchers from Cornell University’s Food and Brand Lab found that people engrossed in a distracting action movie ate 65 percent more calories than those tuned in to an interview program.

At Amy's they are passionate about organic ingredients and that no ingredient contain GMOs. They have many meals for special dietary needs such as: gluten free, cholesterol free, dairy free, vegetarian, lactose free, soy free, tree nut free, low fat, corn free and I am sure there are ones I have missed. We found an entire section of these meals at Kroger in their "healthy" section. Lunchtime Review: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRU50hACLwgux7IVeKDvhzQ

9 Foods and Drinks to Avoid For Diabetics - Part 1

04:08
1. Sugary Foods Sweets, desserts, soda and other foods that are made primarily of processed sugar are considered low-quality carbohydrates. Not only are these foods lacking in nutritional value, they can also cause a sharp spike in your blood sugar and lead to weight problems, both of which exacerbate diabetes complications. Instead of satisfying your sweet tooth with cookies, candy, cake, or soda, reach for delicious fruits, such as apples, berries, pears, or oranges. These high-quality carbohydrates contain plenty of fiber to help slow down the absorption of glucose, so they're a far better choice for blood-sugar control. 2. Fruit Juice While fiber-rich whole fruits are considered healthy carbohydrates for people with diabetes, fruit juice is another story. People with diabetes should avoid drinking juice, even 100 percent fruit juice. Fruit juice contains more nutrition than soda and other sugary drinks, but the problem is that juices have concentrated amounts of fruit sugar and therefore cause your blood sugar to shoot up. Sipping fruit juice doesn't fill you up the same way that eating a piece of fruit does, because juice doesn't have the same fiber that's found in whole fruit. If you want a refreshing drink, go for zero-calorie plain or naturally flavored seltzer with a spritz of lemon or lime. 3. White Rice, Bread, and Flour Big offenders on the low-quality carb list are refined starches, like white rice and anything made with white flour, including white bread and pasta. These “white” carbs act a lot like sugar once your body begins to digest them, which means they will increase your glucose levels. Replace white carbs with whole grains, such as brown or wild rice, barley, oatmeal, high-fiber cereals, and whole-grain breads, for carbs that break down more slowly and have a less dramatic effect on blood sugar. 4. Dried Fruit Although dried fruit contains fiber and many nutrients, the dehydration process removes the water, so it's easier to eat more - think about how many more raisins than grapes you can eat. While snacking on raisins or dried apricots is better for you than eating a cookie, it'll still send your blood sugar soaring. Skip the dried fruit and instead stick with low-glycemic fresh fruit options, such as grapefruit, cantaloupe, strawberries, and peaches. 5. Full-Fat Dairy You've probably heard that the saturated fats in dairy products can raise your LDL cholesterol levels and increase your risk of heart disease. But saturated fats may cause yet another serious problem for people with diabetes. Do your best to avoid full-fat dairy products made with whole milk, such as cream, full-fat yogurt, ice cream, cream cheese, and other full-fat cheeses. Look for reduced-fat or fat-free dairy products instead. 9 Foods and Drinks to Avoid For Diabetics - Part 2 video: https://youtu.be/pBshoQqLk_c

Is Sweet Corn Or Maize Good For Diabetes

03:30
Is Sweet Corn or Maize Good For Diabetes Download Diabetes Management Book: http://bit.ly/2g0NDAH Hello, I'm Ty Mason from TheDiabetesCouncil.com, researcher, writer and I have type 2 diabetes. Today I'm going to answer the question, is sweet corn or maize good for diabetes. But before we get into that, make sure you download my free diabetes management book which also includes a diabetes grocery shopping guide (foods to eat and avoid) and other tips to better manage your blood sugar to avoid complications. Let’s try another one of my now world famous one question quizzes. True or false, sweet corn is a grain. TRUE, but sweet corn is also considered a vegetable by some. It is a grain, but sweet corn is often picked before the full conversion of sugar to starch, so the immaturity allows it to technically be considered a vegetable. Regardless, I am a fan of corn, especially on the cob with a glob of butter! When we talk about sweet corn, we are also talking about maize. Maize is simply another name for corn. We are talking about sweet corn. But there are other varieties of corn to consider. Of course there is popcorn. There is flour corn. Not corn meal, an actual variety of corn grown to produce flour. Flint corn is used in many parts of the world to feed animals. There is also pod corn. You probably have this referred to as indian corn. It has many different colors and is more used for ornamental purposes these days. By far the most produced corn in the United States is dent corn or field corn. This is edible for humans, but I wouldn’t recommend it. It is basically grown to feed livestock. The corn that cows, pigs and chickens eat. If you have ever been in Walmart and you saw a bag labeled “Deer Corn” then you have seen field corn. But our focus today is on sweet corn. Now there are also several varieties of sweet corn, both yellow or golden and white or silver. But both golden and silver are so close in nutritional value it really doesn’t matter which variety you choose. You have probably heard someone say that you can’t have sweet corn if you have diabetes. But have they ever told you why? Some will point to the high starch content while others will just say because it has sweet in the name. Corn is low in Saturated Fat, and very low in Cholesterol and Sodium. It is a good source of Dietary Fiber, Thiamin and Folate. When you look at the nutritional value of corn, you will see about 45 carbs and 5 grams of sugar. But, when we break everything down and look at the dietary fiber and other contents, we are going to see that corn actually has a low glycemic index of 48 and low glycemic load of 8. So is corn good for diabetes? Yes it is. I am a fan of any food that has both a low GI and a low GL. Like with any food however, moderation is always the key, even for low GL foods. I hope this answered your question is sweet corn good or bad for diabetes. Don’t forget to get your diabetes management book. Let me know if you have any other diabetes related questions.

Nuts, especially almonds, are an excellent source of vitamin E, an antioxidant that many runners fall short on because there are so few good food sources of it. Studies have shown that eating nuts several times per week lowers circulating cholesterol levels, particularly the artery-clogging LDL type, decreasing your risk for heart disease. And the form of vitamin E found in nuts, called gamma-tocopherol (a form not typically found in supplements), may also help protect against cancer. Add to your diet: Add almonds and other nuts to salads or pasta dishes, use as a topping for casseroles, or throw them into your bowl of hot cereal for extra crunch. Combine with chopped dried fruit, soy nuts, and chocolate bits for a healthy and tasty trail mix. Almond butter is perfect spread over whole-grain toast or on a whole-wheat tortilla, topped with raisins, and rolled up. Store all nuts in jars or zipper bags in a cool dry place away from sunlight and they'll keep for about two to four months. Storing them in the freezer will allow them to keep an extra month or two. (Find some more sweet and savory recipes here.) Add to your cart: Eggs Eggs 2/15Add to your cart: Eggs One egg fulfills about 10 percent of your daily protein needs. Egg protein is the most complete food protein short of human breast milk, which means the protein in eggs contains all the crucial amino acids your hard-working muscles need to promote recovery. Eat just one of these nutritional powerhouses and you'll also get about 30 percent of the Daily Value (DV) for vitamin K, which is vital for healthy bones. And eggs contain choline, a brain nutrient that aids memory, and leutin, a pigment needed for healthy eyes. Choose omega-3 enhanced eggs and you can also increase your intake of healthy fats. There’s no need to be overly cautious about the cholesterol in eggs (200 mg). Recent U.S. dietary guidelines lifted the 300 mg daily limit, citing research that has shown dietary cholesterol doesn’t increase the risk of heart disease. Add to your diet: Whether boiled, scrambled, poached, or fried (in a nonstick skillet to cut down on the need for additional fats), eggs are great anytime. Use them as the base for skillet meals such as frittatas. Or include them in sandwiches, burritos, or wraps as you would meat fillers. You can also add them to casseroles and soups by cracking one or two in during the last minute of cooking. Add to your cart: Sweet potatoes Sweet Potato 3/15 Add to your cart: Sweet potatoes This Thanksgiving Day standard should be on the plates of runners year-round. Just a single 100-calorie sweet potato supplies more than 250 percent of the DV for vitamin A in the form of beta-carotene, the powerful antioxidant. Sweet potatoes are also a good source of vitamin C, potassium, iron, and the two trace minerals manganese and copper. Many runners fail to meet their manganese and copper needs, which can have an impact on performance since these minerals are crucial for healthy muscle function. There are even new sweet-potato varieties that have purple skin and flesh and contain anthocyanidins, the same potent antioxidant found in berries. RELATED: Prep great meals (in less time!) with Runner’s World’s new book Meals on the Run. Add to your diet: Sweet potatoes can be baked, boiled, or microwaved. You can fill them with bean chili, low-fat cheese, and your favorite toppings, or you can incorporate them into stews and soups. Baked as wedges or disks, sweet potatoes make delicious oven fries. Don't store sweet potatoes in the fridge because they will lose their flavor. Instead, stash them in a cool, dark place, and they should keep for about two weeks. Add to your cart: Whole-Grain Cereal with Protein Cereal 4/15 Add to your cart: Whole-Grain Cereal with Protein Look for whole-grain cereals that offer at least five grams of fiber and at least eight grams of protein. Just be careful with the added sugar content—shoot for less than 10 grams of the sweet stuff per serving.

Vegan Vs Vegetarian ft. Gary Yourofsky

05:00
What is the difference between veganism and vegetarianism? Is vegetarianism really a healthy, animal-friendly and moral way of living? Join Gary Yourofsky and me for a closer look at the critical differences between these two ways of life. Please note: i do not say that vegetarians are morally worse than meat-eaters, as most meat-eaters will also be consuming dairy and eggs. What I say is that dairy and eggs inherently contain more cruelty than meat, thus eating meat but NOT dairy and eggs is less cruel than eating dairy and eggs but NOT meat. Though ranking cruelty is certainly not ideal. heart healthy desserts | Heart Healthy Diet | quick | heart healthy recipes | easy | fast | best

00:47
http://heart-healthy-diet.researchedbyyou.com Heart Healthy Diet Healthy Eating When Dining Out - Don't Abandon Your Diet Americans love eating out -- and there's no reason why it can't be healthy eating. But watch for hidden fat and calories! New healthcare legislation will require that big restaurant chains put calorie info on the menu, starting some time in 2011. But you can't always find out the amount of calories, fat, or salt in your food. So follow these ordering tips to make sure you stay within your healthy diet. 1.Some Fats Are Good for You Monounsaturated fats: Substituted for saturated fats in your diet, they help lower bad LDL cholesterol and don't reduce good HDL cholesterol. Found in canola oil, olive oil, olives, avocados, nuts, and nut butters. Polyunsaturated fats: Help lower cholesterol. Found in fatty fish, vegetable oils, and nuts and sunflower seeds. 2. Fish Is Good for Your Heart Fish is a healthy choice when dining out. Ordering seafood such as salmon and tuna adds omega-3 fatty acids to your diet. They are a type of polyunsaturated fat that helps lower your heart disease risk. You'll also find omega-3s in walnuts and edamame (soybeans). 3.Avoid Fried Foods and Added Cheese Eating out often means getting too much saturated fat, cholesterol, sodium, and calories. How can you spot the dangers? Saturated fats come mostly from meat and dairy foods. Tropical oils like palm oil and coconut oil, and butter are also saturated fats. Cholesterol is found in animal fats. Primarily the saturated fat and the cholesterol in the foods you eat increase your cholesterol levels. 4.Have a Heart Some restaurants have tuned into heart-healthy eating. They offer low-fat, low-salt, low-cholesterol menu items, designated with a heart icon. Don't confuse this with the favorites icon. That can be a flag for popular, fatty choices. One delicious heart-healthy option: A grilled fish filet, a natural source of omega-3 fatty acids. 5. Don't Be Afraid to Ask In restaurants where food is cooked to order, you can make special requests for lighter fare. If you're counting calories -- or keeping an eye on saturated fat, cholesterol, or sodium -- tell your server. Ask what's in a dish. Find out how it's cooked. A chef can often prepare food using less oil, no butter, or no added salt. If there is sauce, salad dressing, or gravy, get it on the side. Then you can dip -- or skip -- and use less. For more info on Heart Healthy Diet go here ~ http://heart-healthy-diet.researchedbyyou.com 6. Clues to Unhealthy Dishes Concerned about high cholesterol, diabetes, or losing weight? Read menus carefully. Thumbs Down: Fried, au gratin, braised, buttered, creamed, escalloped Hollandaise, cheese, or cream sauce In gravy, pan-fried or -roasted, rich, in butter sauce. 7. Clues to Healthy Nutrition Grilled chicken vs. fried chicken. Broiled fish vs. fried fish. When dining out, look for possible code words to healthier food with less saturated fat. Thumbs Up: Baked, broiled, grilled Poached, roasted, steamed In its own juice, garden fresh 8. Cutting Fat Can Help Weight Loss Ask your server about healthy substitutions: A vegetable or fruit instead of French fries Skinless chicken that's broiled instead of fried Low-fat milk for your coffee, instead of cream 9. Lean Choices If you're counting calories and saturated fat, hamburgers, rib eye, porterhouse, or T-bone steaks don't score well. Thumbs Up: Barbeque or grilled chicken, pot roast, meat loaf London broil, filet mignon, flank steak, sirloin tip, tenderloin Seafood, boiled shrimp, oysters on the half shell 10. Healthy Chinese Food Thumbs Down: Egg rolls, egg drop soup, fried wontons, Lo Mein, Moo Shu, General Tso's Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork, and fried rice. They are prepared with lots of oil, sodium, and MSG. Thumbs Up: Steamed or stir-fried seafood, chicken, bean curd, or vegetable dishes -- plus steamed rice -- for heart health. If possible, ask the cook to use less oil, soy sauce, and MSG. Top 5 Foods that Can Literally Kill You | DAILYAT8

03:14
Food poisoning is said to be dangerous, but what happens if the food you eat is itself dangerous, or lethal, and can kill you? From almost every corner of the globe, there are foods that may look normal (or may not), but will lead you to your death, if you are not careful! (00:15) - Chicken may be a staple food for almost everyone, but there is something dangerous inside it, something which can give you deadly food poisoning. What is it? (00:47) - A dead shark can give you food death too. Hakarl, in modern times, is just disgusting, but if you are not too careful, it is one of the most dangerous foods out there. Shark can kill man, even after death! (01:24) - Everyone loves cheese, and cheesy foods. But cheese death is not a laughing matter. Casu Marza has been seen to cause cheese death, and if you do not watch your plate, cheese death will come to you, courtesy Italy's Casu Marza cheese! (02:02) - Fugu fish is one hell of a deadly Asian delicacy, and if the chef is not trained, your expensive fugu fish dish will lead you to death! (02:32) - An octopus eaten alive can lead to a octopus eating death. Sannakji is a korean dish with baby octopus, whose tentacles are still alive. One wrong move by these tentacles, and you will be one more octopus eating death! ____________________________________ Subscribe and Share http://www.youtube.com/c/DAILYAT8 Website:http://dailyat8.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Dailyat8-188520968353720 Twitter: https://twitter.com/dailyat8 READ MORE AT: http://dailyat8.com/blog-post/dangerous-dishes-hakarl-fugu-chicken-sannakji-casu-marza/
