PET CT SCAN with Cancer in Lymph node
This shows my lymph node that I need to get treated. Surgery is real complicated and may end in some damage up there. Radio treatment is already done to the area so it cannot be done again there. I want heavy ion therapy in Heidelberg and hope they take me there, since they are very selective who gets it. The PET CT shows also some cancer in a lymph node down there isolated at the lunge. This is preferable treated with IMRT since surgery may not remove it all. The cancer are rests of NPC (nasopharyx ca, that was treated in 2010 in uniclinic Regensburg (UKR) Germany. If there is any doc or prof out there who thinks of a better solution let me know (evenfulcrum@yahoo.de). the video was uploaded to show that functional diagnostic that shows activity is so much clearer sometimes than MRT is because that lymph node did not change in size for 2 years.

CT radiation and cancer risk
It has been known for decades that radiation exposure increases cancer risk. Most of the evidence comes from analysis of atomic bomb survivors. Almost all data I can find is based on the same data. Basically, 20% of Americans will doe of cancer in general (400 in 2000). Being exposed to 10 milli-Sievert (mSv) of radiation increases risk by 0.05%, or 1 additional cancer in 2000. A CT scan is between 2-10 mSv of radiation. Natural occurring radiation from space and ground based radiation like Radon, is 2 mSV of radiation per year. The link between CT radiation and cancer has been known for some time, and modern machines and techniques are able to reduce the amount of radiation per scan, as compared to the amount when the literature was written. Cancer risk does still exist, and you should have a conversation with your doctor about the possible risks AND benefits of doing CT. As well as if another type of test like ultrasound or MRI would be an appropriate alternative.

(All proceeds Dr. Greger receives from the sales of his books, DVDs, and speaking engagements go to support the 501c3 nonprofit that runs NutritionFacts.org.) DESCRIPTION: Pediatric CAT scans are estimated to cause hundreds of cancer deaths every year. As I explain in my full-length live presentation on preventing, arresting, and reversing the 15 top killers (Uprooting the Leading Causes of Death http://nutritionfacts.org/video/uprooting-the-leading-causes-of-death/), adverse drug reactions from prescription drugs are estimated to cause more than 100,000 deaths in the United States every year, making doctors the sixth leading cause of death. And that's not counting other "iatrogenic" (physician-caused) harm, such as medication errors or infections acquired in hospitals. My profession needs to do a better job of offering fully informed consent, clearly and comprehensively explaining the risks and benefits of each alternate course of action. The risk associated with the thallium heart scans was shocking to me. By eating healthy, we may not only eliminate the death and disability associated with heart disease and its treatment (such as open heart surgery), but the risks associated with heart disease diagnosis as well. What is the Benefit of a Dental Cone Beam CT Scan | Dr. Parsa Zadeh
Have you wondered what the difference is between a dental cone beam ct and a ct scan? Watch this video to understand the key differences of the two and what role they play with dental implants. Dr. Parsa Zadeh explains that although most patients do not know of cone beam ct imaging, it is the go-to machine for implant dentists. Dr. Parsa Zadeh answers a series of important questions like: What is the difference between a CT and CBCT scan for dental imaging? What is the benefit of having a 3 dimensional radiograph? Why is it important to know how deep the bone is for dental implants? How can you know when there is not enough bone for dental implants? What is the main job of a CT scan? In this video, Dr. Parsa Zadeh explains what a CT (computerized axial tomography) scan is and how there is a common misconception with individuals thinking this is the common machine used in dentistry. In fact, the machines that are used to take X ray images are typically cone beam ct scans or CBCT for short. The difference between the two is by how much radiation it puts out. A dental cone beam ct uses technology which radiates the patient much less but it also provides less data than a regular medical CT scan. Although cone beam machines differ in the way they section, the way they expose the patient and how much data they provide, both a CBCT and a CT shows more or less the same thing. The end result when using a CBCT is to get a 3 dimensional radiograph of the patient. This will in turn show you how deep the bone is and provides a huge benefit as it is imperative to know as an implant dentist of how much bone depth you have to work with. CT-Scans and Radiation comes with a huge risk. CT-Scan of the abdomen is equivalent to being exposed to 200 chest x-rays or 1,500 dental x-rays. Ionizing radiation could create DNA damage and also causes cancer. The FDA says that 30 to 50% CT-scans are medically unnecessary. He also talks about the cancer that you would get from all that accumulated radiation. Cancer would show up delayed or wouldn’t show up right away. Things you can do to minimize the damage and help reduce the effects of the radiation in the body: • Sea Kelp • Spirulina • Wheatgrass Juice • Chlorella • Extra Virgin Olive Oil • Cruciferous / Sprouts • Green Tea • Curcumin Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, 52 years of age is a chiropractor who specializes in weight loss through nutritional and natural methods. How To Read CT Sinus Scans Like An Expert

Please SUBSCRIBE, SHARE, and COMMENT on this video. 0:27 – Cut number 1: CT scans are read the same way you would look at someone’s face. 1:11 – Cut number 2: The frontal bone. The nasal bone and pyriform aperture. 1:33 – Cut number 3: The right and left frontal sinuses, separated by the inter-sinus septum. The frontal sinuses are air spaces within the frontal bone. The nasal septum is cartilaginous in front, but bony behind. In this cut, we see a little bit of the bony nasal septum. In this cut, most of the nasal septum is still made up of cartilage. In later cuts, we will see more of the bony nasal septum. We also see the front end of the inferior turbinates. 2:26 – Cut number 4: Notice that the frontal sinus becomes smaller with this cut. The maxillary sinus is an air space within the maxillary bone. The front part of the anterior ethmoid sinus. The lacrimal sac which drains tears from the eye into the nose. The inferior turbinate. The inferior turbinate is made up of bone and erectile tissue that can expand and contract. The nasal septum is now more bony. The upper bony segment of the nasal septum is called the perpendicular plate of ethmoid (or PPE). The lower bony segment is the vomerine crest. Later, both the perpendicular plate of ethmoid and vomerine crest will meet and join together. 3:13 – Cut number 5: The frontal sinus is no longer visible. We now see the frontal lobe of the brain. We start to see the front end of the middle turbinate. The anterior ethmoid sinus. The maxillary sinus. The middle and inferior turbinates. 3:38 – Cut number 7: The olfactory area (which is important for smell and taste) comes into view. Because this area is narrow, it is also called the olfactory cleft. Nerves from the olfactory cleft pass upwards to enter the brain. The bone here is very thin. The bone is perforated by small branches of the olfactory nerve. Since it has a perforated and sieve-like appearance, it is called the cribriform plate. The roof of the ethmoid sinus is very thin. Care must be taken during sinus surgery not to damage this thin bone. The bone between the eye and ethmoid sinus is also very thin. It is called the lamina papyracea which means “paper thin layer”. The middle turbinate is attached to the roof of the nose, and therefore, to very thin bone. It is very easy to fracture this thin roof during middle turbinate surgery. The surgeon must avoid pulling on the middle turbinate too hard! The maxillary sinus opening (ostium) is very narrow. This narrowing is caused by the proximity between the ethmoid sinus and the uncinate process. Uncinate means “hook shape”. The ostium often becomes blocked, resulting in poor drainage and sinusitis. Sinus surgery widens this opening by removing the anterior ethmoid sinus and uncinate process. Infra-orbital nerve which receives sensory information from the skin of the cheek. Care must be taken to avoid injury to this nerve during maxillary sinus surgery. The anterior ethmoid sinus is compartmentalized into many cavities by thin partitions or septae. The ethmoid sinus is so named because it looks like a sieve. Ethmoid means “sieve”. For this reason, the ethmoid sinus is also called the ethmoid labyrinth. 5:21 – Cut number 9: This is where the anterior ethmoid sinus ends, and the posterior ethmoid sinus begins. The middle turbinate no longer attaches to the roof of the nose. Instead, it is now attached to the side wall of the nasal cavity. This marks the separation between the anterior and posterior ethmoid sinuses. The upper teeth is separated from the maxillary sinus by a thin plate of bone. If this bone is breached or dehiscent, there is risk of sinusitis of dental origin. 6:02 – Cut number 10: In this cut, the sphenoid sinus is seen. Pituitary fossa and pituitary gland. The sphenoid sinus is an air space within the sphenoid bone. The sphenoid sinus is so named because it has the shape of a butterfly. The optic nerve. The lateral and medial pterygoid plate. The ramus, coronoid process, and angle of mandible. No more turbinates are seen. The last remaining bit of nasal septum is seen. 6:46 – Cut number 12: We leave the nasal cavity, and enter the postnasal space (or nasopharynx). “Nose cancer”, or more appropriately called nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), originates from the nasopharynx. Since there is no separation by the nasal septum, there is only one common chamber. The Eustachian tube opening. 7:04 - Quiz

Health | ct scan dangers
http://www.arthritistreatmentcenter.com A potential life threatening hazard you should know about next… The surprising dangers of CT scans and X-rays Reported in Consumer Reports, this eye-opening article… the introduction of computed tomography, or CT scans, in the 1970s, was revolutionary. The new tests, which use multiple X-ray images, allowed doctors to see with unprecedented precision the inner workings of the human body. Use of the tests grew quickly, rising from fewer than 3 million per year in 1980 to more than 80 million now. But recent research shows that about one-third of those scans serve little if any medical purpose. And even when CT scans or other radiology tests are necessary, doctors and technicians don’t always take steps to limit radiation exposure. All of that exposure poses serious health threats. Researchers estimate that at least 2 percent of all future cancers in the U.S.—approximately 29,000 cases and 15,000 deaths per year—will stem from CT scans alone. Even some standard X-rays, which expose you to much smaller amounts of radiation, can pose risks if you undergo multiple ones. Comment: The full article reveals other disturbing facts and everyone should be aware of this danger. http://youtu.be/YapJdpysHLk

How Safe is a CT Scan?
People ask me a lot, "How safe is it to get a CT scan done?" And the answer is, historically, there was a lot of radiation involved. And medically, there is still a decent amount of radiation involved. But the reason I differentiate between medically and dental, a dental CT scan like we take here is about one thirty-seventh the radiation that a medical CT is giving you. So it's much, much safer than it used to be. And it's much, much safer than medical. To give you idea of how that translates, if you'd gone on a flight from Atlanta to LA, you're receiving about the same amount of radiation that you get from a CT scan with us. And that CT scan gives us an enormous amount of information. We are able to truly do an enormous amount of virtual planning and protection for you, looking for important things, like where a nerve is, where pathology is, where sinuses are, things like that. And this is an example of doing an implant surgery here, that without a CT scan, there's no way that I'm doing this, because you just need this quality of image to do this kind of surgery. So it's worth it. It's safe. And we use it routinely because it's worth it and because it's safe.

How to Feed a Feline Cancer Patient | Feeding the Cat with Cancer
As cats get older, their risk of developing cancer increases. Like humans, cats can get many different types of cancer, which may result in a variety of complications. It is common for feline cancer patients to have trouble getting proper nutrition, either because of the cancer itself or as a side effect of some of the common treatments for cancer (such as surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation therapy). You can ensure that your cat gets the best nutrition possible by feeding your cat a diet tailored to their needs, stimulating your cat’s appetite, and helping them eat if they need extra assistance or are unable to do so on their own. DESCRIPTION: Getting bitewing or full mouth (panoramic) X-rays at the dentist may be associated with an increased risk of meningioma, the most common type of brain tumor. I was just actually at the dentist for my check-up and was again offered a set of full mouth X-rays (because I was "due"). Normally when I refuse routine dental X-rays I've just explained that I try to minimize my radiation exposure, but this time I was able to refuse "as per the official recommendation of the American Dental Association"! Have a question for Dr. Greger about this video? Leave it in the comment section at http://nutritionfacts.org/video/http://nutritionfacts.org/video/do-dental-x-rays-cause-brain-tumors/ and he'll try to answer it! http://www.NutritionFacts.org • Subscribe: http://www.NutritionFacts.org/subscribe • Donate: http://www.NutritionFacts.org/donate • HOW NOT TO DIE: http://nutritionfacts.org/book • Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/NutritionFacts.org • Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/nutrition_facts • Instagram: http://instagram.com/nutrition_facts_org/ • Google+: https://plus.google.com/+NutritionfactsOrgMD • Podcast: http://nutritionfacts.org/audio/

Each year, a whopping 72 million CT scans are performed in the United States and, according to the National Cancer Institute, these CT scans could account for as many as 29,000 cancers. (1) To make matters worse, as many as 44% of them have been determined to be medically unnecessary. (2) While many advances have been made to lower the radiation exposure from X-rays (including dental) and CT scans, there is compelling evidence to suggest that the radiation accumulates, and may having lasting, detrimental effects. In 2013, The British Medical Journal published a study that followed 1 million people from birth into young adulthood and found that the group that had CT scans had a 24% increased risk of developing cancer compared to the group that did not get the scans. The consistency of the drink resembled that of Pepto-Bismol but the flavor was much better, in my opinion. Many people online say this stuff tastes nasty and has a metal-like after taste. In my case, I actually enjoyed the flavor. It tasted like a melted, grape-flavored Otter Pop. You know that fake, grape flavoring? Yep, just like that. I had to drink 1, 16oz contrast 2 hours before my procedure and then another one 30 minutes before the procedure. Immediately before the procedure, I was injected with a constantly-flowing iodine liquid that would help my organs become even more identifiable in the x-rays. It was the weirdest feeling ever! Felt like my body was slightly on fire (like a "warm all over" feeling). http://www.edenturesprices.org
