I'm talking about potentially ditching your multivitamins, if you're not someone that actually needs it. This video came to light simply because a lot of people that have talked to and a lot of people that I've worked with, have had a very, very hard time letting go of their multivitamins. They take these multivitamins and they see them as their crutch. They see them as the end all be all and their link to healthy eating or the void fill from the nutrients that they're missing from their food. But the reality is there's a lot more to just popping a multivitamin and getting your vitamins and minerals in. So first off what I want to look at is the fact that 50% of Americans take a multivitamin. That is a lot, a lot of people that are misled. A lot of people are leading themselves to believe that they're getting all their vitamins and minerals and getting what they need from a simple pill. Also in reality, we have to look at how much money is being spent. We're talking like $11 billion dollars that people are spending on multivitamins. That's a lot of money. Okay, so let's talk about what is happening with a multivitamin and why it may not be the best thing for you. I'm not discounting it. I'm not saying that everyone should avoid taking a multivitamin. There are some subcategories of people that might want to take them, but I want to talk about some reality when it comes down to just popping that pill. First thing I want to look at is too many nutrients, okay? The simple thing is we have to look at this. If our bodies have the ability to take in all these minerals and all of these vitamins at once, don't you think there would be a food out there that truly encompasses all of them? You see, normally we have to eat different subcategories of foods to ultimately make up our nutrients. Now, if it was so easy as just popping a pill, I think that a lot more people would be really, truly healthy and if it was really possible to absorb all those vitamins and minerals at once, I think we'd have some foods that contain all those vitamins and minerals. We have to remember that we require specific enzymatic functions to truly synthesize and utilize different vitamins, minerals, and metals within the body. Each vitamin that we take in each mineral that we take in has a different process to actually being utilized and if we take them all in at once, we're not really allowing the body to do that efficiently. You're much better off knowing what is going to work for you and isolating specific vitamins and specific minerals for your type, for your bio individuality. So the thing we have to look at with multivitamins and we have this constant competition going on. Okay? We have constant competition of different minerals that sometimes need to be elevated and sometimes need to be lower, but we also have way too much of specific minerals. References: 1) Inc., G. How to Get the Most out of Vitamin Supplements- Thomas DeLauer: When should you take your vitamins? To learn more about how I can help you, head to http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com Many factors play a role on how available vitamins and supplements are when you take them. Fat-Soluble Vitamins: Vitamins A, D, E and K- These are stored in the liver and fat stores in your body, so you do not need to consume these every day. They are easy to get from food as they are not easily broken down by heat when cooking. These are the most important vitamins to eat with food, as the name implies, they are only absorbed and used by the body in the presence of fat. These vitamins dissolve in fat and are then delivered to the bloodstream for use in the body. Not much fat is needed, but if taking a supplement, or even eating fruits and veggies, but sure to have some fat added. If you make a healthy smoothie, add some almond butter or you favorite oil, such as macadamia nut oil. When eating salads, do not use fat-free salad dressings! Olive oil and lemon juice are great options. Be careful if you supplement these vitamins and be sure to check with your doctor if you feel you may need to do so. These vitamins are only needed in small quantities and can build up to a dangerous level if too many are taken. Vitamin D is the main fat-soluble vitamin in the US where deficiencies are common. This is due to inadequate exposure to sunlight. Fortified foods and supplements can help. Try to obtain 5-15 minutes of direct sunlight twice per week to avoid a deficiency, and if this is not possible then talk to your doctor about supplementation. Water-Soluble Vitamins: Vitamin C and B-complex vitamins are water soluble vitamins that you need to be sure to include in your diet daily. Unlike fat-soluble vitamins, these vitamins are not stored in your adipose tissue or liver and are in essence washed from your body daily. Food storage and preparation are important when making sure to get sufficient quantities of these vitamins. Deficiencies are uncommon, however vegans do not have a natural source of vitamin B12 and usually need to supplement. While deficiencies are not common, it is still important to consume daily for bodily functioning. As these vitamins dissolve in water, you do not need to take these with foods, although you can if you want to. Minerals: Calcium and Magnesium (2,4) - These are best taken with food and good to take at night. Calcium is linked to improved sleep due to its muscle relaxing abilities and magnesium has calming effects on the nervous and musculoskeletal systems. Zinc (2,4) - Take with or after meals to avoid stomach upset. Do not take with dairy as calcium hampers absorption. Also avoid taking with iron as large quantities of iron can also hurt your body’s ability to absorb zinc. Avoid taking excess zinc, which can lead to anemia through suppression of copper absorption. Iron (4) - Best to take on an empty stomach. Avoid taking with zinc, calcium and vitamin E as these can decrease absorption. If you have a sensitive stomach you may not do well when taking iron on an empty stomach. If so, take with a light meal. Probiotics (4) - Best to take 30 minutes before a meal as this is when digestive enzymes, bile salts and stomach acid are at low levels. These levels peak after a meal, so this is the worst time to take a probiotic. Fiber (2) - Be sure to separate taking fiber from other nutritional supplements as fiber can hamper mineral absorption. Fish Oil (4) – Fish Oil is best to take with food and with your multivitamin, or other fat-soluble vitamins, if you take them. The fat in the food that you eat can help to aid in digestion and absorption. As fats take a long time for your body to digest, it is best not to take fish oil pills or eat a fatty meal pre-workout. This can cause digestive upset. Multivitamins: As these contain both water- and fat-soluble vitamins, take with plenty of water and some food with fat in it, but try not to take with dairy as this can reduce your absorption of zinc. It's not that Metformin is not safe, you just have to add a daily dose of this key vitamin to prevent potentially disastrous consequences. Many prescriptions medications can cause one problem while fixing another, and metformin is no exception. In this video I will tell you exactly what you need to do to prevent complications (potentially permanent) if you have to take this otherwise useful medication. For more info: https://draxe.com/vitamin-d-deficiency-symptoms/?utm_campaign=Youtube-Apr-2015&utm_medium=social&utm_source=youtube&utm_term=vitaminddeficiency In this video I’m going to talk about the benefits of vitamin D as well as symptoms of vitamin D deficiency. In certain studies, Americans has been found to be the #1 population in vitamin D deficiency. Some of the main symptoms of vitamin D deficiency are a weakened immune system, candida or bacterial overgrowth, emotional ups and downs, hormone imbalance, trouble putting on muscle or losing weight, weakened bones or teeth, cancer, heart disease, or diabetes. Vitamin D supports having a healthy immune response, digestive health, hormone balance, and more. The biggest causes of vitamin D deficiency are not getting enough sunlight, certain chemicals from plastic bottles (bpa), and toxicity. Try to get outside everyday for about 20-30 minutes of natural sunlight. Certain foods that are sources of vitamin D are wild caught fish, raw fermented milk, mushrooms, and eggs. However, there are small amounts in the food you eat. For a good supplement, I would recommend a high quality vitamin D supplement. You don’t want to take vitamin D2, but you do want to take vitamin D3. For supplementation, take about 2000-5000 IUs a day. However, if you have a severe deficiency, then for 1-2 months, you may take 5000 IUs twice daily. Lastly, you want to take your vitamin D3 with some form of fat like coconut oil or avocado to help absorption in your body. If you do not believe how far the pharmaceutical companies are paying off mainstream media and the government, just the name of this title should make you shake your head in disbelief and wonder can you ever trust what you hear anymore. This has got to be absolutely the most bleeping ridiculous statement I have ever heard in my lifetime. A study conducted by guess who, Pfizer pharmaceuticals has miraculously discovered that putting vitamins in their system, actually has no benefits, or worse yet, may actually be harmful to you.

Highest quality supplements. Used by today’s top professional athletes. http://athleanx.com/x/tested-trusted-true-supplements One of the most common questions asked is whether someone needs to take supplements in order to build muscle and see results. It is a good question and one that has two completely different answers depending on the person asking it. In this video, I explain to you 5 reasons you need to take supplements and when you never should take them. If you can’t deal with brutal honesty however, I would advise you not to watch, as some feelings may be hurt. To determine whether or not you are a candidate for supplementation you have to start with your experience level and current condition. If you are just starting out and are relegated to lifting 5 pound dumbbells for most of your exercises, you are likely not ready for supplements. You can gain far more benefits focusing on building up your strength and foundation while learning proper form and the best way to train than with stuffing your face with supplements. The same can be said if you have allowed your diet and nutrition to put you grossly overweight. Supplements are not your savior. You first must figure out how to rededicate yourself to your nutrition so that you can lose enough weight to make supplements a viable part of the discussion once again to take you and your results to the next level. Next you have to ask yourself if you are motivated enough to take supplements. Some people view supplementation as a way to be lax with the rest of their fitness and nutrition plan. They figure that as long as they are taking the supplements that they don’t have to worry much about everything else. Couldn’t be further from the truth. On the other hand, sometimes the act of supplementing makes you much more accountable for the rest of your actions. In this case, it can be a great advantage to helping you stay on track. If stress is a big part of your life, be it from your work or family, supplements can become even more necessary to help keep you on track and combat that. We all know that proper nutrition and fueling can go a long way towards helping your body fight fatigue and breakdown. If stress is heavy in your life then you would particularly want to look into supplements to help keep you healthy and consistent with your nutrition in the face of schedule disruption. Finally, ask yourself if you think that you can get all the benefits of supplements from food alone. If you think so, I can tell you in most cases you are wrong. For instance, there is simply no practical way to get as much creatine as you would need to experience its benefits from food alone. I said practical. Sure, you may be able to do it in theory, but when you consider the roadblocks that I present to you in the video you quickly realize this won’t work. For a complete supplement and nutrition line that is tested and trusted by today’s top professional athletes, be sure to head to http://athleanx.com/athleanrx and get your Rx Supplement bundle. Feel what a difference supplementation can make and see first hand how it can take your results to the next level. Have you ever watched Popeye cartoons? If you’ve ever eaten spinach thinking that it would make you as strong as him, you should know that this vegetable can actually bring you more harm than benefits, if it’s consumed in the wrong way. The spinach myth started a long time ago, in 1870, with the American researcher Dr. E. Von Wolf. One of his articles was published with a typo: the number that indicated the amount of iron present in spinach was missing a decimal point. It made it seem as if spinach contained ten times more iron than it actually does. The typo was fixed after a few decades, but by then the myth had already spread. Iron is a very important mineral for our bodies and when we don't eat enough of it, we may get anemia associated with an iron deficiency. It’s a disease that normally makes people lose their appetite, feel tired, look pale, lose their desire to work, and have difficulties learning. Not only does spinach not contain as much iron as people thought, it also has a substance called oxalic acid, that keeps your body from absorbing iron, causing it to be eliminated through your bowel movements. A large quantity of this acid in your blood could even contribute to the formation of kidney stones, and other disorders—especially in your liver. So anyone with kidney problems or rheumatoid arthritis should avoid consuming large quantities of this acid. Apart from this, some nutritionists say that cooked spinach should be consumed immediately, because if you keep it in the refrigerator, it may start to produce toxic substances. Now that you know the truth about spinach, you may feel tempted to cut it completely out of your diet, but we aren't through yet. Popeye's favorite food contains anti-oxidant substances, as well as several vitamins. A cup of raw spinach can give you your daily intake of vitamin A, and half of the recommended daily allowance of vitamin C. You still need to be careful when you eat spinach. Consume it in moderation, and don’t overdo it— especially with small children. In order to better benefit from spinach, eat it raw or lightly steamed. ---------------------------------------- ▶ Subscribe to the channel - https://goo.gl/3tB19z ▶ Natural Cures en español - https://goo.gl/QcoLf2 ▶ नेचर क्योर्स - Natural Cures (Hindi) - https://goo.gl/okYDFd ▶ Mindfully Yours - https://goo.gl/qXiBjy Disclaimer: The materials and the information contained on Natural Cures channel are provided for general and educational purposes only and do not constitute any legal, medical or other professional advice on any subject matter. For more info: https://draxe.com/coffee-nutrition-facts/?utm_campaign=Youtube-Jan-2015&utm_medium=social&utm_source=youtube&utm_term=coffee One of the most common questions I’ve been getting recently is, “Is coffee bad for you?” The answer is, yes … and no. Coffee is beneficial because it contains massive amounts of antioxidants, which help slow the aging process and protect you from free radical damage. Coffee also helps stimulate the liver and increases circulation, helping blood flow to the brain. Coffee can be harmful in some ways because of the amount of caffeine it contains. The caffeine in coffee can overstimulate the body, burn out your adrenal glands, and overtax your body. About 80% of people in the world will struggle with thyroid problems or fatigue issues. For this group, I wouldn’t recommend coffee because it will burn out your adrenal glands. However, if you’re generally healthy, then drinking coffee in moderate amounts can be fine, and even good for your health. I wouldn’t recommend drinking coffee past lunch time because it can affect your sleep cycle that night. Depending on the condition of your body, if you’re suffering from an autoimmune disease, coffee can make your disease worse. If you’re pretty healthy, looking for a pick-me-up, or looking for more antioxidants, then coffee can provide you these benefits. When picking out your coffee beans, I would recommend choosing all natural, organic coffee because it’s one of the most highly sprayed plants in the world. Lastly, if you’re looking for a great substitute for coffee, I would suggest drinking matcha green tea because it has great benefits and one-third the amount of caffeine. *This content is strictly the opinion of Dr. Josh Axe, and is for informational and educational purposes only. The Truth about Magnesium & Copper: Food Industry Secrets- Thomas DeLauer.. http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com - More Information on How to be Your Best Self Check out my Favorite Magnesium Brand at: http://www.JigsawHealth.com Magnesium is a mineral that many of us are deficient in because of the standard American diet. The numerous ways that magnesium deficiency are detrimental to health are many and with deeper understanding, the list continues to grow. -Impacts nerve and muscle health There are 18 essential minerals that play roles in all of our body processes. There are 4 that are of particular importance for liver and body health and balance: magnesium, calcium, iron and copper. These 4 are so important because much of our adverse health problems are caused by too much iron and too little magnesium. Magnesium and calcium act together as counterbalances. For example: -Mg calms cells, Ca excites them -Mg necessary to relax muscles, Ca (in concert with potassium) cause muscles to contract -Mg plays a role in keeping blood flowing; Ca is involved in blood clotting -Ca contributes to bone hardness: Mg found mostly in soft body structures -Ca is involved in the fight-or-flight response and in inflammation; Mg is involved in balancing this through calm and reducing inflammation It follows that if we are stressed, maybe caused by work, life, or even extreme exercise, we need plenty of magnesium to regain balance. Magnesium burn rate is the rate at which we burn magnesium. It appears that this rate increases as we age. The idea is to fix mitochondrial functioning through the balancing of magnesium, calcium, iron and copper. Why these four minerals? We have already discussed the importance of calcium and magnesium, so now we should understand iron and copper. Iron is the #1 most abundant mineral on earth. As we go through life, we accumulate iron. Mg and Fe fight over available oxygen. These two mineral events criss-cross at about 40 - when much of the illness, aches and pains kick in. This is largely due to excess iron and deficient magnesium. Iron oxide is involved in the aging processes inside of our mitochondria. It changes enzymatic pathways and can cause a lack of ATP, which our bodies need to function! ATP doesn’t work unless it is complexed with magnesium, which affects the functioning of 3700 proteins in the body. As we go through stress iron builds up in the liver, and as we age magnesium burn rate increases. This rate is also higher when we are under stress. Copper is another important mineral - you can’t make ATP unless you have bioavailable forms of copper. Copper is the mineral that makes sure that things are oxidized properly. Dr. Morley’s RCP: Concentrate on the stops and the starts to get this in balance. Stops: 1. Stop taking hormone/vitamin D a. V D stops the liver’s production of ceruloplasmin i. Low vitamin D due to low magnesium. Every facet of VD metabolism is magnesium dependent. Taking VD can make the situation worse 2. Stop taking calcium and iron supplements 3. Stop taking ascorbic acid 4. Stay clear of high fructose corn syrup and colors 5. Stop lowfat - have plenty of fat in the diet, it is important 6. Stop using industrialized oils based on omega-6 fats 7. Steer clear of fluoride - far reaching and profound effect 8. No multivitamins or prenatals 9. No citrate - disrupts liver’s ability to make ceruloplasmin 10. No colloidal silver - it impacts copper status (silver sits below copper on the periodic table) Starts: 1. Use cod liver oil 2. Start magnesium supplementation 3. Whole food vitamin c 4. Forms of B-vitamins from way of mother nature - bee pollen, rice bran, beef liver 5. Use silica - helps to pull aluminum out of the liver 6. Start ancestral diet 7. Take boron, taurine and iodine Learn to distinguish between functional and absolute iron deficiency - almost impossible to have a total shortage of iron, but you can have a shortage of functional iron. Happens when don’t have enough bioavailable copper. Anemia of chronic inflammation leads to low Mg, low ceruloplasmin, low serum iron, etc. Excess unbound iron will lead to a loss of magnesium due to pH of a cell to be too acidic which leads to magnesium loss which leads to inflammation. Inflammation is a clinical indication of deficient magnesium, which was originally determined in 1992 in a study on rats where magnesium deficient diets led to an increase in inflammatory markers. Inflammation is a gateway to many diseases. Additionally, pathogens feed on iron, so we do not want to have excess iron levels in our diet. References: 1. To support our channel and level up your health, check out: Our Fast Weight Loss Course: http://thehealthnerds.com/the-science-of-fast-weight-loss-course Our Better Health Basics Course: http://thehealthnerds.com/food-health-happiness Today, we’re going to be answering the question of what does sugar do to your body and the 10 negative effects of sugar. #1. Sugar can give you wrinkles and adds age to your face Scientists from the Leiden University Medical Centre, in the Netherlands, measured the blood sugar levels of 600 men and women aged between 50 and 70. In fact, for every 1mm/liter increase in blood sugar, the perceived age of that person rose by five months. http://www.research.leiden.edu/news/looking-older-blood-sugar-plays-a-role.html #2. Sugar is Also Associated With Acne Foods ranked high on the Glycemic Index such as sugar and refined carbs have been associated with greater amounts of acne on the face and body according to the latest research. A study of Australian men showed that those who ate a diet with a low glycemic load saw a great reduction in overall acne. It was a small study with only 23 men but is still food for thought. https://www.aad.org/media/news-releases/growing-evidence-suggests-possible-link-between-diet-and-acne #3. Sugary drinks cause an 83% increase in developing type II diabetes In one study of 91,249 women showed those who consumed 1 sugar-sweetened beverage a day had an 83% increased risk of developing type II diabetes compared to those who had only 1 a month. #4. People who eat sugar are at a much higher risk of cancer There has been a direct link seen between breast, and colon cancer with sugar consumption. http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/0306987783900956 http://cebp.aacrjournals.org/content/6/9/677.short This is likely due to the fact that insulin is one of the key factors behind the growth and multiplication of cells, and sugar spikes insulin to abnormally high levels. #5. Sugar Can Ruin Your Teeth A study by the American Journal of clinical nutrition showed that sugar destroys the healthy bacteria in our mouth. This can cause tooth erosions and may dim that bright smile. http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/78/4/881S.full What about sugar and weight gain? There are 5 proven reason sugar leads to added weight gain... #6. Sugar is the premier definition of empty calories. It has no real nutritional value, no nutrients, no minerals, no proteins, and no fiber. Because of this lack of nutrients… #7. Sugar makes you feel hungry In a study by Yale University, those that consumed sugar had an INCREASED appetite and desire for more food. http://yaledailynews.com/blog/2013/01/15/overeating-linked-to-sugar-consumption/ So not only does sugar fill you with empty calories, it makes you want more of those calories. This process happens because sugar screws up hormonal levels in the body. Which leads to #8. Sugar blocks leptin and raises insulin to supernatural levels Leptin is a hormone in charge of telling us we’re full and need to stop eating. It also tells us we have energy and should go out and use that energy. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18703413 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15111494 Sugar consumption blocks this hormone from doing its job and from reaching the brain. http://nutritionandmetabolism.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/1743-7075-2-5 9. Sugar causes belly fat Numerous studies have shown direct links from sugar to increased accumulation of belly fat. Despite knowing all this, it’s hard to stop eating sugar because http://www.jci.org/articles/view/37385 http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19248858 #10. Sugar is addictive Similar to drugs like cocaine, scientists have now shown that sugar causes a very similar release of dopamine in the brain. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2235907 http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2851032/ Studies on neuroplasticity have shown that drug users have similar behavioral addictions to those addicted to sugar. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3139704/ Point black. Sugar is ADDICTING and comes without the immediate social repercussions of frequent drug use. That’s why it’s so hard to stop eating it. How much should you eat per day? None. There is not a reason to be eating this food in your diet, but only on the rare occasion as a treat. What about fruit? Fruit has fiber, vitamins, minerals, water, and tons of nutrients that refined sugar does not have. http://www.bmj.com/content/347/bmj.f5001 Sticking to whole sources like apples, oranges, and berries are a better idea. What should you do if you can’t stop eating sugar? I think this subject needs to be covered in greater detail, so either next week or sometime soon we will be making a video about breaking sugar addiction if that’s something you guys want.

Sometimes even the healthiest of foods we use to eat combined with others can ruin all that healthiness you were aiming for. Pay attention to these common 10 food combinations that seem normal but are actually terrible for your health. Of course, one cup of hot chocolate a week won’t harm you, but you should be careful with it, especially if you have kidney problems. If that’s the case, replace regular milk you add to cocoa with skim milk. So, if you like to have some yogurt early in the day, either go for plain natural Greek version or add dry apricots or plums to it to avoid health problems. Many vitamins and other valuable nutrients that are found in vegetables and greens require fats for proper absorption. Whenever you dress your salads with lemon or vinegar only, you deprive yourself of a lot of healthy food elements. The starch pasta is so rich in needs alkalotic digestive fluids, and the proteins from meat demand acidic ones. When you mix them, they get stuck in your stomach and can cause heartburn, belching, gas, and other unpleasant consequences. To avoid all that pain, try having durum wheat pasta as a separate dish or combine it with herb sauces. Eggs and bacon combined are rich in protein, and scientists believe that this is not so good for your health. Your body spends a lot of energy on digesting such products. Scientists recommend drinking milk separately, 1-1.5 hours after your meal. Try using heat to help break down the phytic acid – boil bran beforehand. Cereal combined with orange juice, especially in the morning, won’t bring you the boost of energy you expect but may cause discomfort and heaviness in your stomach. Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS Cocoa + milk 0:56 Fruit + yogurt 1:46 Salad + lemon or vinegar dressing 2:30 Cheese pasta + tomatoes 3:13 Pasta + minced meat 3:57 Eggs + bacon 4:38 Bran + milk 5:57 Cereal + orange juice 6:45 Pizza + soda 7:24 Wheat bread + jam 8:33 SUMMARY -When combined with calcium, the acid cocoa is rich in contributes to the formation of oxalate crystals, which are bad for your kidneys in excessive amounts. -Dairy foods alone can worsen symptoms of allergies, block sinuses and be congestive. Fresh fruits added to them only make things worse. -Whenever you dress your salads with lemon or vinegar only, you deprive yourself of a lot of healthy food elements. -Cheese pasta and tomatoes slow down starch digestion. -When you mix digestive fluids and proteins from meat, they get stuck in your stomach and can cause heartburn, belching, gas, and other unpleasant consequences. -When you have eggs and bacon for breakfast, you deprive yourself of the energy you need so much at the start of the day. -The phytic acid found in bran forms insoluble compounds when it’s combined with calcium and magnesium. It also makes these minerals inaccessible to your body. -The acids in orange juice drastically lower the activity of the enzyme that is responsible for breaking down carbohydrates. -Carbs, proteins, and starch in pizza combined with sugar in soda will give you stomach heaviness and bloating. -Wheat flour combined with sweets will give you a boost of energy for just a short time, and then exhaustion and bad mood will take its place. Chewing gummy vitamins do not provide the body with the proper nutrients, according to new research.Though they may be sweet and tasty, tests found that they either have too many or not enough of the essential nutrients and minerals that are marketed on the label.Tests conducted by ConsumerLab.com compared 50 different multivitamins and found that 80 percent of the gummies did not meet the standards of dietary supplements. And while many people turn to gummies as an alternative to swallowing pills to get their daily dose, nutritionists warn that the sugary coating may be doing more harm than good.According to the US Food and Drug Administration, our bodies need 13 vitamins from our diet, fortified foods or dietary supplements that multivitamins are meant to supply. But gummy vitamins may be replacing their nutrients with unhealthy ingredients that make them tasty.ConsumerLab.com purchased 50 popular multivitamin products, including five brands of gummy vitamins, in the United States and Canada and tested them for several key nutrients.Twelve of the multivitamins contained 24 percent fewer nutrients than what was listed on the labels and as high as 157 percent more than listed. Most gummy vitamins are not approved by the FDA, meaning they are not tested in the way that other medications are to coincide with their packaging label. The tests found that Centrum MultiGummies for Adults is missing 10 of those vitamins and NatureMade Multi Adult Gummies and Vitafusion Multivites lack nine of them.Smarty Pants Adult Complete didn't have vitamins B-1, B-3, and K, as well as the minerals iron, magnesium, copper, selenium and chromium, which are commonly found in multivitamins.New York nutritionist Nikki Ostrower and owner of NAO Wellness told Daily Mail Online that she never recommends gummy vitamins to her clients.'A lot of gummy vitamins have artificial fillers in them like food coloring, some have high fructose corn syrup and lots of preservatives,' she said.Four of the five gummies contained too much vitamin A, which can be due to the difficulties of making them and the manufacturers spraying too much of the nutrients on.Vitamin A is a fat soluble vitamin, which means the body stores it in the liver and other organs and will not be digested as easily as other water soluble vitamins.Ostrower said that too much of these fat soluble vitamins can cause dizziness, nausea, headaches, joint-pain and heart disease. But she adds that one of the biggest issues with them is exactly what makes the treats popular - the taste. The fact that gummy vitamins are akin to candy causes people, mostly kids, to overeat them, which could result in a dangerous overdose of vitamins.'People think it's good for kids , but if there's all these unhealthy preservatives, the body is absorbing that and not the nutrients anyway. The high levels of sugar and other additives found in the gummies can also contribute to early tooth decay and cavities in children.Ostrower suggests sticking ordina AutoNews- Source: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-5144605/Gummy-vitamins-NOT-work-harm-good.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490

Honey is the only product which contains all the necessary ingredients to keep you alive and healthy: vitamins, enzymes, minerals, and water. Today, we are exploring all of its benefits and healthy properties. Honey is sweet, made by bees, and Winnie-the-Pooh loves it. But do you also know that honey has existed for millions of years? That honey will never spoil if kept in an airtight container? We at Bright Side have been looking for quite some time for such a product, and it turned out to be natural honey. And we're definitely going to eat a spoonful of it every day from now on! TIMESTAMPS Clearer skin 0:51 Loss of excess weight 2:37 Lowered cholesterol level 3:44 Stronger heart 4:27 Better memory 5:08 Sounder sleep 6:03 Healthier stomach 6:28 Relieved nervous tension 7:14 Honey and garlic combo 7:44 SUMMARY Honey and garlic combo When combined with another natural remedy with strong antiseptic and healing properties — garlic — the power of honey will increase tenfold. Garlic-infused honey will boost your immune system and keep you in good health. You're going to need the following ingredients: • 3-4 heads of garlic • 1 cup raw honey • a small jar with a lid Separate the garlic heads into cloves, and remove their outer layers. Put them into the jar, and then pour honey over them. Remove bubbles if necessary. Cover the jar with a lid, and put it away to infuse for a few days. Take one spoonful a day on an empty stomach, and you will feel energized and healthy like never before. Hopefully, you are already running to your kitchen or the nearest store to start your honey-based treatment.
