Minoxidil solution for external application is recommended to promote hair regrowth and to slow the process of baldness. Minoxidil tablets and the topical applications are not final cures for the conditions they are prescribed for; however, the conditions can be managed without getting worse. As there is a difference between male and female pattern baldness, women should use minoxidil 2% and men should use minoxidil 5%. Please help us translate this video in your language to make it more universal and useful to your language community. We present useful and essential information on the drug minoxidil that everyone should know when taking this drug. Minioxidil was actually a hypertensive medication which was identified, it dilates the blood vessels and that is how it helps in increasing the nutrition to the hair roots and that is how the hair growth is supposed to happen. Minioxidil can cause headache. It doesn’t cause direct increase in the blood pressure. But in the head if you apply, because of the dilatation of the blood vessels, the patient may experience headaches. Other than that I don’t think there is any direct relationship on the blood pressure, because this is only topical application. You are not taking it orally.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a healthcare professional, nor a doctor. These side effects are sourced from my own experience, online articles, many personal anecdotes, and a few clinical studies. It is important to consult a doctor if you are worried for your own health, as I cannot give you proper advice concerning your health. Thank you. Hey guys, this is a long awaited video explaining the possible side effects of using Minoxidil. My intention is not to scaremonger hesitant users of Minoxidil, but to inform this audience that these side effects are possible due to Minoxidil being a drug. In this video, I'll be exploring the undesirable side effects of using Minoxidil 5% on our faces. Because the face has better blood circulation than the scalp, risks of side effects increase. If you don't like my voice lol, here is a list: COMMON: • more body hair, everywhere: most likely will fall since these new hairs are vellus hairs. • effects on heart rate, "heart palpitations" which can be increased or decreased. Typically caused by your body not being used to it. • Slight chest pain. • headaches • feeling dizzy/light headed. Typically disappears and is infrequent. • Itchy, dry, skin irritance/burn: most likely caused by the high amount of alcohol. • hair shedding/beard shedding: common, simply the new hairs pushing out the old. Hair growth cycle: "Normal hair follicles cycle between a growth stage (anagen), a degenerative stage (catagen), a resting stage (telogen), and a shedding stage (exogen). • "screws up" with your normal skin care regime because of the 4 hour rule with Minoxidil. LESS COMMON: • continuous heart palpitations or increased severity. Minimize or stop usage. Maybe Consult doctor • Continuous dizzyness, chest pain, lightheadedness • increased severity of chest pain • increased/decreased blood pressure: One individual reported his blood pressure rising to 150, which is pretty high considering the adult blood pressure should be less than 120. • folliculitis: inflammation of hair follicles caused by bacterial or fungal infection. • dark spots around the eyes, • significant hair growth on the forehead, ears, under eyes. • rash • shortness of breath • wrinkling of skin/scare probably due to sun exposure UNCOMMON: • Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, rapid weight gain, swelling of face, feet, hands, lip. • Changes in vision, decreased visual acuity. • long term cardiovascular effects (we do not know, but studies show that participants applying Minoxidil had more of these cardiovascular effects, and likelihood increases for those that already have cardiovascular conditions. Consult doctor if you're worried. • severe chest pain, • severe dizzyness • Some even report occasional occurrences of side effects even after months stopping treatment, possibly meaning that Minoxidil led to permanent physiological differences. • Some instances of ER visits, etc. Thank you guys for watching and I hope you found this content useful as it took my hours compiling the information and making sure my sources were valid. References & Sources: A study showed that 20 participants using Minoxidil had significant increases in LV end-diastolic volume, in cardiac output, and in LV mass. They concluded that healthy subjects short term use of topical Minoxidil is likely not to be detrimental. (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1386573/) "There were no serious side effects. Two instances of allergic contact dermatitis and four of pruritus were attributed to use of the drug. Two individuals complained of impotence, which disappeared within a few days of discontinuation of topical minoxidil." (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3549802) "Systemic side effects are uncommon since very little minoxidil is absorbed after topical application. In one study, the serum levels after 2.5 mg twice a day oral versus 2% twice a day topical minoxidil were 32.8 and 1.7 ng per mL, respectively." There is no connection between high blood pressure and hair loss. The causes for hair loss are mainly three, one is hereditary reasons or due to an internal cause which is due to low iron deficiency or a thyroid problem or certain other hormonal disturbances which can usually be seen in women.

Hey there, fitness fanatics! Our topic today covers a very specific problem. Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is usually managed either by lifestyle changes such as diet and exercise or by prescription medications. However, sometimes none of these options help. But who would have thought minoxidil, also used as a hair-restoration drug, could help? Researchers from the University of Heidelberg in Germany have discovered that minoxidil, in combination with other blood pressure medications, can cause a large decrease in the resting blood pressure of difficult-to-treat patients. The average drop in blood pressure went from 162/83 to 136/73 mmHg, which takes a patient from the high range to a normal, although still prehypertension, range. The health benefits of reducing your blood pressure, especially that significantly, are crucial. Even short periods of high blood pressure have a negative impact on your heart. As always, thanks for watching. Drop by again tomorrow for another tip of the day from everyone here at XP Labs! For More Information About XP Labs Visit https://www.xplabs.net

http://www.hair-loss-treatments.com.au/ Hair Loss Treatments, Minoxidil & DHT, what you need to know! Minoxidil was originally used in a tablet form to lower blood pressure. One of the side effects noted, was an increase in hair growth related to DHT which is Dehydrotestosterone, the cause of hair thinning in Female Pattern Thinning (not hair loss) and Male Pattern Thinning (not hair loss). When applied topically, Minoxidil can assist to remove the constriction DHT causes to the hair bulb and in effect, the blood supply to the hair build, limiting growth of hair, and causing an miniaturization or thinning effect of the hairs only ever on the top, recessions and crown of the head. To apply Minoxidil topically, you must prepare your scalp so it is ready to absorb through the protective barrier of the scalp skin. The skin is part of your integumentary system, and is there to protect you. Many over the counter types of Minoxidil actually damage the natural barriers of the scalp skin to attempt to penetrate though the scalp epidermis to the dermis where the hair bulb is and the effect of the DHT. Safe preparation of the scalp is essential to the safety and effectiveness of topical Minoxidil. This includes Scalp Brush Therapy, Scalp Cleansing, opening your hair follicle with Scalp Tonique and then channeling through the scalp epidermis to the dermis with sage Microneedle Therapy, and then, you can apply topical to effectively reach the target site, guaranteed! In addition, you must also understand where DHT comes from. It is from within all of us. DHT natural function is relevant to our auxiliary hair, which is there to protect our body's outermost layer and largest organ, our skin. To effectively reduce the effect of DHT on the hair bulb which is perceived as hair loss but is hair thinning, one must stop the buildup of DHT around the hair bulb before you can begin to remove the constriction the DHT has caused to get any result in the form of hair re-growth from any hair loss treatment. Prescription DHT blockers cause systemic changes within your body, which can have side effects, and effect your cells pH balance, which is essential to be alkaline for cell health and division. As a Natural Therapist, I choose natural DHT blockers to be used in a body alkaline environment in combination with pH testing and feeding the body essential nutrients, to ensure the cell is functioning correctly. Remember, if you block the DHT, you will not need to use minoxidil forever, and you will not get hair loss once you stop using minoxidil, when using combination therapy of blocking DHT and removing the constriction of DHT. Also be aware of your natural hair cycle. In 99% of cases I diagnose with my 60x magnification microscope, I find male and female pattern thinning to be related to a interrupted hair cycle as a result of diffuse hair loss or diffusely damaged hairs from poor hair cell function, which all related back to pH and health. One last word on Minoxidil, most manufacturers and distributors recommend 1ml per day. If you prepare your scalp effectively you only need to apply the Minoxidil on the days you wash and in most case ½ml is more than enough and eliminates the residue on your scalp and hair. Hope this information helps to understand Minoxidil with more clarity. Carolyn Evans, Trichologist at Absolique Hair Health Clinic

CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW TO BEGIN TO GROW YOUR HAIR BACK: http://hairlossdetective.weebly.com The Big 3 OTC Treatments: #2 Minoxidil Now the 2nd treatment in the big 3 OTC treatments is called Minoxidil... Minoxidil is another famous ingredient for well-known products in the hair loss prevention and hair regrowth industry. This was an interesting find because the original use for Minoxidil was for treatment of high blood pressure. It was the 1st pharmaceutiacal drug approved by the FDA in its claim to treat male pattern baldness. But before that...it was used to treat high blood pressure. But just like Propecia researchers have found that the side effect included an increase in hair growth in many cases. While at one time once was a strictly prescription only drug, Minoxidil is now available to the public over-the-counter. Minoxidil was first taken by mouth for the treatment of hypertension. Although, the very common side effect of new hair growth was noticed. Like propecia, the drug's potential in the treatment of hair loss became evident and has even now overshadowed its first use in lowering blood pressure Minoxidil works to relieve hypertension by acting as a vasodilator. This means that it opens and relaxes blood vessels enough to reduce the force with which blood is pumped through them. This same vasodilatory property is responsible for the effectiveness of Minoxidil in stimulating hair regrowth. Minoxidil causes vasodilation of the blood vessel by releasing nitric oxide which is known to widen the diameter of the vessels. As an antihypertensive, Minoxidil (sold as Loniten) is not the first-line drug in the management of high blood pressure. This is because oral Minoxidil produces some serious side effects on the circulatory system. Because of its systemic side effects, when it was formulated for hair loss treatment, Minoxidil was presented in topical preparations to be applied directly to the hair. While Rogaine was the first such preparation of Minoxidil, other brands of the medication are now available and sold as over-the-counter products. For those who struggle with androgenic alopecia (Male Pattern Baldness), Minoxidil may be the right hair regrowth method to use or at least try. There are a few basic things to know about this blood pressure medication in which has been turned into a hair growth stimulant. The reason for the ability to cause or stimulate hair growth in users is actually unknown. Minoxidil contains moiety, which is a nitric oxide. Minoxidil is designed for topical use for treatment of baldness or hair loss. For men the products that contain Minoxidil generally use five percent, while women's products use less at around two percent. http://hairlossdetective.weebly.com Minoxidil is available both in 2% and 5% topical solutions. While the 2% solution stops hair loss and encourage hair regrowth in 30% of men using it, the 5% solution has a success rate of 65% The 2% solution is prepared with alcohol while the 5% solution uses propylene glycol as solvent. Therefore, some may find out that the higher concentration makes their hair sticky and irritates the scalp. Minoxidil is also available in a spray foam form prepared in alcohol and glycerin base. Foam Minoxidil contains 5% Minoxidil and is just as effective as the liquid form. Now the last treatment is said to be important to use in conjunction with the first two treatments. As the previous two treatments claim to stop dht and 5AR (with possible long term side effects) the last treatment is used to complete the circle...figuratively speaking.

What Is The Strongest High Blood Pressure Medicine In The World? There is one organ which causes high blood pressure (and it's not what you think!) and there are specific exercises you can use to target and fix your blood pressure easily. No diet, lifestyle changes or medication required: http://hibloodpressure.stream/ Answers from: Liang-Hai Sie Jonathan Long Angela Punus These are only known/used by specialists in that field, so most of you wouldnt have heard of these: -For intravenous use only, preferably closely monitored on the intensive care units: Sodium nitroprusside in 2014: A clinical concepts review, sodium nitroprusside is a powerful arterial and venous vasodilator because it makes NO (nitric oxide, a very powerful vasodilator) available. Not to be given for too long for fear of cyanide poisoning.-For oral use: when the usual pills arent effective: Minoxidil - Wikipedia, a strong vasodilator, often inducing fluid retention needing extremely high doses of furosemide water pills to get rid of the excess fluid. Minoxidil is the only non-prescription treatment clinically proven for female and male pattern hair loss. Minoxidil was discovered in clinical trials for high blood pressure treatment. During the trials, minoxidil showed signs of being able to re-grow hair. Minoxidil works by increasing the blood flow that stimulates hair follicles, revitalising them by working deep down at the root. Promoting hair regrowth in four ways: - Reversing follicle miniaturisation - Increasing blood flow to the follicle - Stimulating follicles from the resting phase to the growth phase - Increasing the length of time of the growing phase Reactivate your inactive hair follicles. By applying REGAINE®at the root, you could stop and even reverse hair loss. Get High Blood Pressure Remedy Report On: http://www.medical-home-remedies.com/Go/HighBloodPressureSolutionKit Learn More On: http://www.medical-home-remedies.com/high-blood-pressure/ High blood pressure or hypertension has epidemically afflicted almost every one out of three adults above the age of 20 all over the world. It's a fatal condition that claims hundreds of thousands of lives prematurely robbing humanity of a safe, secure, long and healthy lifestyle on the planet. Let's first understand what in fact blood pressure technically means, and what makes it harmful if it crosses a certain threshold in its reading. Well, it's the force that the blood flowing through the arteries throughout the body exerts on their walls. The more the force, the harder has the heart to work! The harder the heart works, the faster it gets tired and the weaker it goes in its strength. It may end up in its enlargement, a stroke, a heart attack or aneurysm causing an unhealthy life span and a premature death leaving your loved ones all alone, on their own. Blood pressure measurement is expressed as a set of two readings. Systolic blood pressure is the pressure that gets exerted on the artery walls as the heart beats to flow the blood out of it into the aorta, whereas diastolic blood pressure measures the same when the heart is in a resting state in the span between two pumping beats. Though owing to the resistance in the blood vessels to the flow of blood through the arteries it goes on reducing as it goes away from the heart into the organs; but for clinical references it is measured at a person's upper arm on the inside of an elbow at the brachial artery, where its normal systolic reading should measure less than the pressure exerted by 120 mm of a column of Hg (mercury) and the normal diastolic reading should measure less than 80 mm of Hg. The treatments that the mainstream medicine offers has lot many side-effects attached with them. For example diuretics tend to render the nutrients in the body ineffective, beta blockers generate dependence on them, alpha blockers cause nausea and headache as well as add pounds to the body weight along with raising the level of bad cholesterol in the body, whereas vasodilators tend to turn the body hairy and obese. In fact ALL the pharmaceutical drugs including Avalide, Benazepril, Caduet, Candesartan, Diovan, Lotrel, Metolazone, Metoprolol, Norvasc, Perindopril, Cozaar, Bendroflumethiazide, Captopril, Doxazosin, Amlodipine, Micardis, Coversyl, Amlodipine, Lisinopril, Hydrochlorothiazide, Benicar, Indapamide, Atenolol, Valsartan, Lasix, Atacand, Bisoprolol, Telmisartan, Propranolol, Avapro, Clonidine, Diltiazem, Doxazosin, Candesartan, Irbesartan, Betaloc, Benicar, Inderal, Ramipril, and HCTZ or any other HCT available for lowering high blood pressure or relieving hypertension have serious side effects associated with them, at times more serious than the disease itself; not to mention the money that neither your wallet nor your health insurance can easily afford! And what are their intended effects on the body? They JUST give a symptomatic relief temporarily and do nothing more!

Two of the more popular medications for male pattern hair loss are Rogaine (minoxidil) and Propecia (finasteride). Minoxidil is a vasodilator and was originally used as a treatment for high blood pressure. A physician noted that one of the drug’s side effects was increased growth of existing hairs, though the specifics of how it stimulates hair growth are not entirely clear. Minoxidil, unfortunately, has a number of limitations. People that suffer from scalp diseases, heart problems, blood pressure problems, and kidney and liver problems are strongly advised against using the drug. Propecia, on the other hand, is an oral drug that blocks the enzyme 5-alpha reductase from converting testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which is the hormone responsible for hair miniaturization. The downside of the drug is that it may cause sexual dysfunction in men. With the limitations of hair loss drugs in mind, Dr. Amiya Prasad has developed Hair Regeneration, a treatment backed by 3-5 years worth of clinical study. The treatment combines extracellular matrix - an advanced stem cell-based wound-healing technology, and platelet-rich plasma derived from the patient’s own blood, to form an effective and safe treatment for hair loss. With this treatment, Dr. Prasad has been able to reverse male pattern hair loss in almost 100% of male patients in a single treatment, without needing additional medical therapy or surgery. Keep in mind that the Hair Regeneration treatment works more effectively on existing viable hairs, which means that it will be the most helpful the earlier one gets treated with it. See the natural formula that can improve your circulation and help your hair loss issue: 🤜http://drsam.co/yt/GetYourHairBack Or watch the first part: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRdsoOUp_hU ======================================= 👱 Poor Blood Flow Can Cause Baldness and Hair Loss - Hair Loss Part 7 ======================================= So here’s something very interesting -- men who are losing hair, typically have higher blood pressure and poor blood flow and circulation. In fact, statistics show that men who are bald/balding, have higher rates of heart disease - thus leading to heart attacks and/or strokes. Again -- blood flow being a major issue. Less blood flow to the scalp also results in less nutrients and oxygen getting to the hair follicles. This is also why a lot of transplanted hairs, eventually fall out over time. If there isn’t enough blood flow to the scalp / balding areas, even these “new” transplanted hairs eventually start to die and fall out over the next few years. Here are some other interesting facts... Minoxidil - the topical hair loss product... Was originally a blood pressure drug. One of the side-effects or side-benefits was extra hair growth Actually, it was more head hair AND body hair. People liked the extra head hair, but NOT the extra body hair. So, they made it topical so it goes on primarily to the scalp and thus, more scalp hair growth Also, you’ve heard of Viagra, correct? Well, this is PDE-5 inhibitor and the original reason Viagra was created, was for lowering blood pressure and improving blood flow. A side-benefit was better erections. So, two common problems for guys -- hair loss and poor erections -- and blood pressure and blood flow are both causing factors. So our goal is to improve your blood flow and circulation, which will result in a healthier heart, better hair growth and better erections. Recently, I started utilizing an all natural PDE-5 inhibitor called Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa, also referred to as X-Scabrosa. Basically, it acts like a natural Viagra - literally! … Obviously it’s not as potent as the drug, but there are also no side-effects from it. Of course, you have to find the correct source, the specific extract form (Piperazine 35%) and use the clinically proven dosage to make X-Scabrosa work. Unfortunately, most people don’t have access to this rare herb. But don’t worry, I’m not here to tease you. At the end of this video I’ll show you where you can get access this amazing herb. …. And, there you have it my friend. That’s the end of this video series about hair loss and hormones. Improve your hormones and blood flow and: You’ll have more muscle Less belly fat Feel happier and more energetic Higher sex drive and better erections And more head hair. Basically, you’ll look and feel younger. You’ll be a lot more confident and you’ll be the BEST that YOU can be and that’s all you can ask for. Now, I know I’ve given you a lot of things to think about in this video series. However, I’ve done this so you can be educated about YOUR health. Hopefully you have a better understanding and more clarity about this very important topic. With that said, if you’re serious about improving your hormones and finally fixing this part of your life, then visit the link below this video in the description area. You’ll discover the proven formula that’s been utilized by thousands of guys since 1999, that can help you get the results you’re looking for. A study conducted over 25 years on 5000 people aged 43-86 from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine was published in the medical journal, Opthalmology, in May of 2014. This study documented that when drugs that dilate arteries to lower blood pressure, such as Apresoline (hydralazine) or Minipress (minoxidil...yes the same drug that is used to treat baldness!) are associated with a 72% greater risk of developing age related macular degeneration (AMD) than people not on these drugs. About 8% of people not on these antihypertensive drugs developed signs of early AMD but for those on them about 19% developed those signs! These investigators also found that beta blocker antihypertensive drugs increased the risk of wet macular degeneration (a much more serious form of macular degeneration) by 71%. However, it must be kept in mind that the increase in absolute numbers was less impressive. This risk increased from 0.5% to 1.2%. It is clear that the first steps in managing blood pressure should be lifestyle oriented. Exercises, diet, stress reduction, getting adequate sleep, maintaining a normal weight, and finding joy in life should be the first approach since they are safe and also more powerful than any medication!

The goal of Big Pharma is to sell drugs, whether safe or not. It is always advertising new on-patent drugs because they have the greatest potential for profit. The most effective drug for blood pressure control has been around for 50 years, is off-patent, is about $10 per month; it is called hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ). Even HCTZ causes problems that include elevated cholesterol, insulin resistance, loss of potassium and magnesium, and an increased risk for gout.. Provillius News - New Hair Regrowth For Men And Women Claimed Clinical trials published by the National Institute for health, confirm that it is possible to stimulate new hair regrowth in individuals with "Androgenetic Alopecia", commonly known as "male pattern baldness", although the term also covers hair loss in women too. After finding one of the causes of hair loss to be involved with the cycle of the hormone DHT, researchers discovered a way to block the troublesome hormone using a topical solution, now marketed under the name "Provillus", and other brands. A spokesman for the company said they were "very proud of the breakthrough, and FDA approval, but that users are warned - results may vary". Its active ingredient Minoxidil, is the only topical product that is FDA approved for androgenic hair regrowth. The treatments from Provillus include a 5% concentration solution that is designed for men, and a 2% concentration solution for women. Minoxidil was originally sold as an oral drug to treat high blood pressure. It was found to have the side effect of promoting hair growth when applied to the scalp! Other brand names include Amexidil, Avacor Physician's Formulation, Avogain, Keranique, Kirkland Signature, Lipogaine,Loniten, Mintop, Neocapil, Obabo, Regaine, Regenepure, Rogaine, Tugain and Provillus. There are various treatment options available for androgenetic alopecia. They are available in the form of oral medications, topical applications, some of the procedures done in the clinic and surgery like hair transplantation when it comes to the oral treatment, we give a drug called as finasteride. So what this essentially does is it blocks and enzyme called as 5 alpha reductase and therefore stopping the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone. By doing this it is stopping the process of miniaturisation which is essentially the root cause of androgenetic alopecia. This is given in the dose of 1 mg per day. Consult with your dermatologist to know the side effects of finasteride and how long you can take it. The other oral medication are multivitamin and minerals because of the cut of blood supply to the hair, there is decrease in the oxygen and vitamin and mineral supply to the hair that is why e supply with multivitamin tablets. In topical application, most often prescribed is minoxidil. This is a peripheral blood vessel dilator, so therefore deserving the blood pressure. So when using this drug for lowering the blood pressure the hair growth was noticed as a side effect of the drugs and this is how minoxidil was brought to the hair industry. It is not good for patients with low blood pressure or normal blood pressure. That is when topical applications of minoxidil has comes out. It is available as 2%, 5% and 10% formulations. So consult with your dermatologist to know what suits you better and how to use minoxidil in the right way and what are the side effects and how to use it along with it sometimes ketoconazole and caffeine are also prescribed. Ketoconazole is an antifungal medication and has a vasodilating effects and a stimulating effect to the hair follicle and similar with caffeine. It is given with shampoos. So caffeine based shampoos also has a stimulatory effect to the hair. So this will increase the blood circulation. There are some procedure that are invasive or non-invasive like PRP and low level laser light therapies that are done in the clinic. So PRP is platelet rich plasma wherein the patients now blood is taken and centrifuged, that is the blood is spinned at a very high speed so that the components of blood are separated like red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. We take these platelets and reinject them in the desired areas. For examination when we have patterned baldness, we inject the into the bald areas of the scalp. What do these platelets do? They are rich in growth factors. When they are injected, the stimulate the root of the hair and the stem cells therefor increasing and nourishing the blood supply to the hair and the other procedure often dome in the cinic is low light laser therapy, this is thing but the scalp is exposed to a light with a specified wavelength that again stimulates the root of your hair. So all these treatments be it oral topical or other procedures we do are temporary and give you long term remission but you have to use it as long as you want the hair fall to be under control, because the testosterone is freely available in the blood stream, it gets converted into dihydrotestoeterone and it keeps affecting your hair follicles which is the root cause for the alopecia. So all these treatments have to be taken for long time to put your hair fall under control an once you reach a point of no return, that is the point where the hair root is closed, then the procedure of hair transplantation comes into picture, which is a permanent procedure .

In a time when we have so many different types of treatments available, why bother going natural? Why not take the route to wellness that requires less “work?” There’s a bit more to the answer than simply “it’s better for you” (which not many people dispute anyways.) Chemicals ingredients and nasty side effects aside, there are a number of reasons to go natural. Home remedies have helped keep us alive and well for hundreds of years before modern medicine, so they’ve done their part in proving their effectiveness. There are also times where the remedy doesn’t really do a darn thing, but consider the placebo effect. Nothing can beat the mind when it comes to managing the body. Finally, natural remedies are often times quite cost-effective, which is becoming increasingly important as the costs of medical care continues to climb. Our health defines who we are. http://www.hairrejuvenationnyc.org/ (212) 644-6454 Hair Rejuvenation I. Definition: Androgenic alopecia is the name for male and female pattern baldness. In androgenic alopecia the hair loss occurs slowly over years. It can start anytime after age twenty. There is usually a family history of hair loss. In women, the hair slowly becomes thin throughout the scalp and bald spots usually do not occur. Men first develop hair loss at the temples, followed by an enlarging bald spot on top of the head. II. Causes: Androgenic alopecia is thought to be due to the hair growing tissue's sensitivity to hormones; this sensitivity is due to genetic factors. Not contagious, not caused by foods, not the result of nervousness. Androgenic alopecia often runs in families. III. Treatment: Rogaine (minoxidil) is a medicine used to treat high blood pressure which when applied to the skin causes hair growth in some individuals. One out of ten people who use Rogaine will grow hair. Rogaine will slow the rate of hair loss in five out of ten patients who use it. The other four out of ten are wasting their money. Hair transplants are another option for treating androgenic alopecia. Plugs of hair are removed surgically from areas with plenty of hair and implanted in the areas with little hair. Some people can benefit from scalp reduction. This is a surgical procedure in which the bald area is cut out. Propecia is a new medication taken by mouth which treats androgenic alopecia

Hair Loss & Hijama Male pattern baldness is one of the most common forms of hair loss that happens in men. It is also known as genetic hair loss or alopecia androgenic. Hair loss normally happens slowly; usually they start to notice bald spot on the crown of the scalp. Depending on the individual’s health, many start to see thinning of the hair around the temple area as they reach their thirties. Your hair goes through different phases; your hair growth cycle normally lasts for two to three years, it grows approximately 1cm every month. Your hair grows and then rests for couple of months and then falls out, after couple of days new hair starts to grow in its position. It is normal to shed some hair everyday but if a person starts to see excessive hair loss then it is a sign of male pattern baldness. There are so many reasons why excessive hair loss takes place in both men and women. For example a person maybe ill for couple of months or it can be someone who came out from surgery, or if the person is stressed out, they may see a large amount of hair loss. It can be related to thyroid gland being over active or under active, or female and male hormone deficiency. Many women notice hair loss for few months after they’ve had a baby because of the change in hormone level. Some medicines also cause hair loss such as blood thinners also known as anticoagulants, steroids, birth control pills, high blood pressure or heart problems etc. There are certain infections such as fungal infection that can affect the scalp and follicle to cause hair loss. Certain hairstyles can also cause hair loss such as pigtails, cornrows or tight hair rollers, the pull on your hair can cause traction alopecia. The traction causes the hair follicle to become wounded and damaged permanently if not treated at an early stage. Research shows us men who suffer from male pattern baldness; they have a high rate of the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in their follicles. They believe that DHT is one of the main causes of hair loss. However scientists still do not understand its relationship with hair loss. They do not know why it only occurs at the top of the head and why the sides and back are immune to it? They also found that a lot of people do not take care of their hair, which leads to building up dirt and oil that clogs up the follicle making it harder for the hair to grow back. In time the hair grows thinner and thinner until it completely stops growing and the follicle closes permanently. Can you prevent male pattern baldness? No, you cannot, but you can slow it down. Science recently discovered a possible cure for hair loss. They have been working with stem cells for years, until recently a fluke discovery was made. The experiment was performed on a wounded mouse. They saw new hair follicles started to grow in the injured area. This is exciting news for every hair loss sufferers but experiments are still going through tests and studies. While science is slowly catching up, people have alternative medicines to help slow down hair loss. The only two drugs that are FDA approved and shown to help slow down hair loss are Finesteride (Propecia) and Minoxidil (Regaine). Finesteride stops DHT being formed, in theory, stops hair loss. However with every drug there are some side effects, many people reported their sex drive was low, some even reported they lost the ability to have an erection. Minoxidil is applied on the scalp; this helps it to circulate blood to the follicles thus having healthy hair growth. However, with minoxidil only a low percentage of people saw good results. Can hijama help male pattern baldness? After doing a lot of research, we learnt that the most common hair loss is alopecia. Nearly two third of the male suffer from this in the UK. There are no researches or studies that show hijama being affective on slowing down hair loss, however people who were on finesteride they started to see hair loss slowing down, and many started to see new hair growth. The follicles that were dead stayed lifeless, the follicles that grew hair had low DHT. Minoxidil is used to help blood circulate to the follicles and many did see good results. So the two things we have here is a DHT blocker and good blood circulation that keeps the hair follicle open. We believe by performing dry cupping on the scalp, the suction can help open the follicles and promote blood circulation to help maintain the hair. This theory only applies to follicles that are still alive. Wet cupping on the head can also be effective as it will get rid of many harmful toxins and pathogens that build up underneath the scalp. Obviously healthy diet and nutrition is vital for the follicle to stay alive and maintain a healthy growth. Also cleaning and washing your hair and scalp is very important, as studies at a microscopic level show us follicles get blocked by oils and dirt that are produced by the body. Individuals who wish to perform dry or wet cupping on their h

It was originally introduced as a drug for high blood pressure, but clinical studies showed hair growth was a side effect. Because it was not effective as a blood pressure medication, it was released as an FDA-approved treatment for hair loss. Provillus is the brand name for minoxidil. Originally it could be purchased only by prescription, but soon became an over-the-counter topical solution available in two strengths: regular, which is 2 percent minoxidil, and extra-strength, which is 5 percent minoxidil. Provillus is now available for men and women.

York cardiologist, Dr Sanjay Gupta discusses palpitations and how to work out if the palpitation represent a heart rhythm problem by tapping out the different beats. www.yorkcardiologist.co.uk. Hello, my name is Sanjay Gupta and I’m a cardiologist in York. Today I thought I’d do a little video on the subject of palpitation. Palpitations are really common symptoms that I see in my clinic and majority of palpitations are not serious. The big worry when people experience palpitation is whether they may have a heart rhythm disturbance. Even if they have a heart rhythm disturbance, most heart rhythm disturbances are not serious. So, that’s a little bit of reassurance. The first thing that I would like to talk about is what is a palpitation? I suppose palpitation is a rareness of one’s heartbeat to the extent that it feels abnormal. So, the hart could be beating normally but us sensed abnormally. Now, there are many normal causes of palpitations, so to speak. So, for example, if you were walking down a dark alley and someone jumps out suddenly, then that would cause palpitation; that would cause the heart to beat very fast and that would be felt as a palpitation. But that doesn’t signify a problem with the heart itself; the heart is just doing what is meant to do, it is beating fast in response to the adrenaline that is circulating around the body. Similarly, anxiety and stress can cause palpitation; caffeine can cause palpitation, people who drink a lot of caffeine; alcohol can cause palpitation; exercise can, obviously, cause palpitation. So, these are the plan that of sort of normal things that can cause palpitations which don’t signify anything to be worried about.

A recent study links the blood pressure drug Norvasc (amlodipine) to an increased risk of breast cancer. Women who took this drug for more than 10 years, seemed to have a greater risk of developing breast cancer than those that took other blood pressure medicines. This is not the first study that proposed a link between breast cancer and a blood pressure medication.

First of all, it is important to understand that hair needs proper blood circulation to the scalp to grow fully. It is what drives all the nutrients such as Protein, Zinc, Iron, Biotin and Omega-3 fatty acids to the hair follicles to promote optimal growth. All of the Vitamins are CRUCIAL to combat hair loss, especially Vitamin C, because it improves and increases blood flow to the scalp. Circulation also brings Oxygen to the hair to keep it alive and healthy. There are powerful treatments for baldness that should be used by every men and women to help put an end to hair loss: Scalp massage is very effective to stimulate blood flow to the scalp. It can be done anywhere and anytime! Simply rub your scalp in a circular motion from your hairline to the back of your head for 10 to 15 minutes a day. Make sure to use your fingertips and NOT your fingernails as they can scratch and damage the skin. Headstands can greatly help driving blood flow directly to the top of the head. For best results, do this for at least 5 to 10 minutes a day. If you can’t do a headstand, you can simply stand up and lean your head towards the ground for a similar effect. These exercises help strengthen the root of the hair and reduces hair fall. Finally, the BEST and SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN technique to use to increase hair growth is called Red Light Therapy. Red Light Therapy is a completely safe procedure that consists of exposing your scalp to Red Lights, which have been shown to increase blood circulation, promote healthy and strong hair and regenerate hair cells for new hair growth!
