Here is a brief description of some of the best anti-fungal foods you can eat. Please be sure to check out the many videos on this channel relating to foods and Candida. I'm just looking at my computer here at a website I've been looking at. I typed in “best antifungal foods” and I found a website and it said here that fresh dates are good as antifungal. Think about that for a minute. Fresh dates. You may as well have a can of beer. Why would you want to have fresh dates for if you've got a yeast problem, if you've got bacteria or Candida in your gut, particularly. Why would you want to put a load of sugar into your tummy? Dates are full of sugar. Best antifungal foods that haven't got high sugar content. You're going to see a lot of websites that say sugar is bad for Candida and you're going to see a lot of other websites that say natural sugar is fine for Candida. I keep trying to get the message time and again in my video that there's basic common sense when it comes to an anti-Candida approach. The best antifungal foods are the ones that aren't going to make you feel sick. They're going to inhibit Candida. Maybe not necessarily kill Candida on contact, but have a strong inhibition or power about them. Dates obviously don't make sense to me. The most powerful antifungal foods can vary slightly from person to person. One food for Mrs. Jones over here may be totally terrible for Mrs. Smith. For example, a long time ago, I used to tell everybody to eat lots of garlic, but I've found there are many people who can't tolerate garlic and it makes them feel sick. They have one small clove, they vomit. Other people can eat 10 cloves. One woman's meat is another woman's poison basically. But the common thread generally that runs through a lot of this is there are foods that a wide range of people can tolerate that are antifungal. Coconut, for example, is one. Most people can tolerate coconut. Coconut oil is supremely antifungal and has very high levels of lauric acid, caprylic acid. It's an excellent adjunct in a Candida diet. I recommend you cook with this oil and you can also add a little bit into salads or on top of vegetables. It works quite well. Curries can be made from coconut crème or coconut milk. Coconut oil can be used in cooking. That's a good start for you. If you can't tolerate raw garlic, try and steam the garlic or add it to food. Adding garlic to food after it's been cooked is better than adding it at the beginning because you're going to lose more of the properties. Fresh ginger is a very good antifungal and it can be successfully used with garlic. One clove of garlic, a small piece of fresh ginger, mince them together and use that on food or cook it, you know, enjoying your food. The woody spices. We've spoken about this in other videos. Many types of woody spices you can have. I'm sure that cardamom seed pods will be antifungal. You've got green cardamom and brown cardamom. They belong to the ginger family. I'm pretty they will have antifungal properties about them. Cinnamon also is an antifungal. Clove, a spice called clove. And there are many other woody spices than can be incorporated into your diet. The fresh herbs. Another excellent adjunct as an antifungal into your diet. There are many of them. I speak about these quite often. Basil, rosemary, thyme, marjoram, oregano. Those five are very, very good to add. I grow all of them and I recommend that you grow them all in your garden or just buy them fresh at your green grocer store. I'm sure you can buy them there and then again incorporate those into your food. Antifungal foods don't necessarily have to be foods that are going to kill Candida. They can also be foods that inhibit Candida. Yogurt is quite a good antifungal food for that reason. Many people can tolerate yogurt perfectly fine. If you can't tolerate the cow or the dairy yogurt, try the coconut yogurt. I tried that one about a week ago and I found it to be fantastic in flavor. It's quite nice. It's coconut yogurt. You can make it yourself. Go on line and find some recipes or you can probably by that one already these days in the shelves. Common sense, people. Common sense prevails when it comes to antifungal. You avoid foods that are pro-fungal and you look at foods that are antifungal. Foods we just mentioned. The brassica class of vegetables are also antifungal to a degree. Broccoli, cauliflower, Chinese vegetables, all of these kinds of foods, brussel sprouts. You can grow them like me or you can purchase them yourself. Again, hopefully, from an organic shop. What are some of the best natural antifungals you can get? This video explains the best, it's pretty much common sense. Good natural antifungals are things that you can take quite a lot of regularly all the time and they should be foods because food is medicine and you know the rest of the story. Natural antifungals aren't some kind of weird space age kind of stuff. They should be things that we find in natural. Anti-Viral Diet: In our clinical experience, we have seen how certain foods can contribute to certain conditions based on their chemical makeup. In particular, there are many foods that can flare-up or lengthen a viral immune challenge. These foods are high in an amino acid (a normal component of proteins) called Arginine, and usually low in an amino acid called Lysine. Arginine is not harmful, but if it is consumed in larger quantities than Lysine, it is known to stimulate viral growth. Berberine helps in fighting the yeast infection in two ways. It helps in stimulating production of macrophages, the specialized white blood cells that help in destroying the pathogens. Its symptoms include yellowing, inflammation and crumbling of the nail. It generally is not painful, but can be if the fungus spreads. If it is left untreated, it can lead to cracking and splitting of the nail, and even complete loss of the toenail. It usually occurs under conditions such as abnormal pH levels of the skin, diabetes, ongoing exposure to moist environments and a weakened immune system. Thankfully, there is good news when it comes to treating toenail fungus as there are numerous treatments that can cure and eliminate the fungus which is inexpensive. Here are some foods and treatments that can be used to treat these infections. 1. Tea tree oil can be helpful when treating toenail fungus. It is an antiseptic in addition to having anti fungal properties. This means it can be quite beneficial for toenail fungus specifically. The oil is also used to treat other kinds of skin infections. Tea tree oil is beneficial as a treatment since it is able to penetrate deep into thick nails to kill all underlying fungus. As well, it can strengthen the immune system to prevent fungal infection and heals the fungus, bringing back the nails smoothness, shine and clarity. Mix a few drops of the oil in one teaspoon of either olive oil or coconut oil. Use a cotton ball to apply the mixture on to the affected toenail and leave it on for 10 minutes. Hi there, Eric Bakker, naturopath. Thanks for coming back, appreciate you checking out this channel. I make videos for people just like you. I make videos almost weekly, and its just a service I've been doing now for some time, and it's good to give back. I've been seeing patients now for a long time, and I hope you're going to get something out of this video. So, what we're going to talk about now is some of the best foods you can eat for candida. I've done similar videos like this before, but this one's going to be more of a summary of all of my favorite different types of foods all put into one video. Let's start off by saying, the only way really, you're going to eradicate not just candida, but also dysbiosis, meaning bad bacteria or poor gut function in general, the only way you're going to get that gut, that digestive tract in a really nice balanced state, is to eat fresh foods. The fresher and cleaner the foods you eat, the better your gut is going to be. The more packaged and processed you're going to eat, the crappier your gut's going to be. The crappier the gut, the crappier the health. So, there you go. I've said it before, if you eat crap, you look like crap, and you feel like crap, and it's not nice to be crappy in the 21st century. But, it's incredible how many people in America, have got non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. I may have mentioned this in a previous video, it's estimated that now about 100 million people in the US have got non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Now, we're talking non-alcoholic. These are people who don't drink alcohol. Their livers are sick and fat and ugly, and it's all from eating the wrong crappy kind of foods, and guess how many of these people potentially will have CBO parasites and candida out of that 100 million? A ton of people. 100 million crappy people walking around, that sounds not really good, is it? But, it's not just the US guys, I mean, this is New Zealand as well. This is Australia, this is a lot of countries. So, the basis of really good health is eating very fresh. The fresher the foods, the better the health's gonna be. That's why I like to grow a lot of my own foods because I can guarantee then that I'm putting stuff on the plate that's going to be good for my gut, not good for someone's pocket. Best groups of foods, I believe in terms of vegetables, one of the top ones are the Allium family. So, I've done a video on this previously, you can look it up. The Alliums are very, very powerful because they contain so many compounds that have a wide range of effects in the body. All the Allium foods are anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and anti-inflammatory. So, we're talking chives, spring onions, shallots, scallions, red onions, brown onions, green onions, purple onions, garlic, all different types of garlic. So, these are basically the Allium family. What I like about these in particular, is the liver cleansing ability. So, they're going to help to pull micro toxins out of the bloodstream. So these are basically poisons that yeast make and dump into the bloodstream. So, Allium is known to mop up and do a lot of cleansing, so by eating these foods regularly, you're going to have a regular detoxification. They contain a lot of quercetin, which has very beneficial effects on many aspects of your immune function. Try every single day to have Allium in your diet. We go through kilos and kilos of onions in our house. We go through huge amounts of garlic. We also grow lots of chives and spring onions. I would have, at any one day, at least 100 spring onions growing in the garden in various states of maturity. So, I can always go a head into the garden, any day of the year, and pull out one, two or three spring onions, and they go beautifully in omelets, like in eggs. They go in salads, they go in casseroles, they go in curries, they go in all kinds of foods. You can eat them fresh, you can eat them steamed, you can eat them stir fried. They take up very little space in the garden, and guess what? Bugs don't like Alliums, they don't like 'em at all. What does it tell you about them? They're powerful plants. Eat them, all right? Second group I like are the Cruciferous vegetables. To this group, again, we've done videos on this, we're looking at broccoli, cauliflower, collards, kale, brussel sprouts, kohlrabi, all these foods. These are super, super dense nutrient foods. Again, they contain many different compounds and tons of minerals that help to build your health up. These foods are very nice, for example, cabbage stir fired, you can also drink the juice of cabbage, I've mentioned in many videos to really help withof significantly green cabbage juice. Let's look at the best diet for Seb Derm, what are the best foods you can eat if you've got this condition? If you've got this condition and you're watching this video now, chances are you've already made changes. You've already put away those cans of soda, and energy drinks, and you put away all the candy, the ice cream, all the kind of junk. So probably the best advice I can give you if you want a really good diet for Seb Derm is to go and look at some of my videos on this channel regarding healthy eating. There are many videos regarding that. The best foods for Seb Derm are anti inflammatory foods, low allergy foods, and anti inflammatory foods. So what are anti inflammatory foods? They're the colorful vegetables in particular. Beef is prone inflammatory, be careful with red meat in particular, like beef. Beef can be egg yolks or eggs can be a bit inflammatory. So if I had a bad skin condition I would probably really focus on proteins like fish, maybe free range chicken. I'd be looking at the brassicas, excuse me, like broccoli, cauliflower, kale, brussel sprouts. I'd be looking at spinach, celery, what other foods would I look for? Nuts and seeds, maybe some almonds, brazil nuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds. I'd be looking at flax seed oil in the diet, maybe a couple of capsules of omega-3 each day. Particularly omega-3 very high in DHA, and EPA. Make sure you get a fish oil that have got both these components in it, but particularly the EPA. The EPA's the anti inflammatory one. So I would take two capsules a day of that because that's going to be anti inflammatory. I'd be looking at garlic in the diet, I'd be looking at ginger in the diet. I'd be talking out as much processed and refined foods as possible. Especially grain foods but you should be fine to eat quinoa, brown rice, they're all chia seeds, these are good foods to eat, no problem at all, white fish, but check out my videos on the healthy eating. I'm pretty sure I would've completed some videos on the anti inflammatory, the best anti inflammatory foods to eat and also the low allergy foods like cows milk and dairy's not a great food to consume if you've got a skin condition like Seb Derm. I would absolutely recommend that you take out cheese, milk, cream, all those sorts of foods from the diet. They're too congesting, they're too inflammatory, they can have a potential really for blowing that skin right up. So I would treat a Seb Derm case diet wise, the same as a psoriasis case, it's an anti fungal diet wise. All my psoriasis patients go on the candida crusher diet approach. I think that's the best approach also for Seb Derm because there are, you know there are certainly a potential there for the , for the yeast occurring on the skin surface for that to go haywire. So if we want to contain the yeast and make it behave, we need to look at an anti fungal diet. For internally, it's also going to affect the external. So don't kid yourself, what you eat very much affects your external skin.
