How to assemble a keyhole adjustable bed frame
http://customcomfortmattress.com/ How to assemble a keyhole adjustable bed frame Hey everyone its Demian ross with custom comfort mattress today i'm going to show you how to assemble a keyhole adjustable bed frame for a queen size bed. So you have all of your pieces laid out, you're going to have five metal rails, you're going to have four wheels two glides and two plastic end caps. So one make sure you have all of the pieces necessary. The first thing you're going to want to do is grab the side rails, the side rails are going to be the longest pieces you have and they'll have these two arms that will extend into ninety degree angles what you want to look for is the headboard bracket, there will be a headboard bracket on one side there is no bracket on the other this is where our plastic end caps are going to go. And this is where the head of the bed is. So i'm going to lay this out first here, I'm going to grab the other side rail. Same thing i'm just gonna let them extend out to a ninety degree. The headboard bracket is here again so i'm going to put it there. Why don't we take a quick second and put on the plastic end caps. So you have these two pieces here they just look like little L pieces of plastic. We just want to slide them over the end here. The plastic end caps I just put on are going to protect your skin if you ever kick into it and they are also going to protect your walls, and protect your mattress. So lets talk about the other pieces we have left. We have the center support beam here its great that its upside down it'll make it easier to put the glides. And we have a head beam and a foot beam now they are both exactly the same. So it doesn't matter which one goes where. Im gonna lay those out on the end here and the other piece here. Now we have four wheels and two glides. So lets go ahead and separate and grab the two glides. We have these two pieces here and those go into the center support so lets just go ahead and put those in put a little pressure. Now we have four wheels. Each wheel will go on a corner. I'll start here and basically just lift up the frame there is a small hole and just pop it into place *errgh *phew Alright this is what i'd consider to be the trickiest part of assembling this frame. what you want to do is grab the center support and in this case i'm grabbing the foot rail and you'll see there are two little notches on the inside of the foot rail and your basically sliding at like a one hundred and eighty degree angle and then bring it back to a ninety degree angle and it locks into play. Then you can go ahead and now put the glides so they are facing down. This is where all the key locks are and we are going to use the furthest hole for a queen size. So the furthest peg into the furthest hole spin and lock it in place. Same thing here furthest hole lock it in place. If your going to need to set up an eastern king or a cal king your instructions which notches to use. Lets continue go ahead and continue to do this. Now this is down, same thing we have the two notches we are sliding it into play spinning it looking for the furthest hole, locking that into place, looking for the furthest hole, locking it into place. And there is your keyhole adjustable bed frame set up for a queen size bed. I hope this helped you out, if you have any other questions, you can feel free to email us. And I thank you for watching.

Truck Canopy Sleeper - Part One
The goal is to create a solo sleeping area in the canopy/bed of a pickup truck. As you can see such a thing can be easily accomplished without too much work. All one needs is a good plan, some materials, a few tools, some skill, and you're off to the races. I'm very fortunate to have access to a wood working shop with a lot of higher end tools and a Girlfriend who's willing to help me out as that definitely makes the job easier, faster, and more fun. At this point all of the framework is finished and all that needs to be done are a few finishing touches to the bed of the truck and the canopy itself. The rest will be shown in detail in part two of this series coming out whenever I get around to posting it. ▼ AMAZON STOREFRONT ▼ https://www.amazon.com/shop/xazazelx13 ▼ GEAR UP TODAY! I chose to stick weld (SMAW) the tubing, because of the thickness of the walls and also because the application of the tubing will require it to hold a lot of weight. How to Use a Hand Plane

(See below for a shopping list, tools, and steps.) Click here to SUBSCRIBE to the official This Old House YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=thisoldhouse Shopping List for How to Use a Hand Plane: - Machine oil, used to lubricate sharpening stone - Wood block, used to prevent tear-out in end grain Tools List for How to Use a Hand Plane: - Bench planes - Specialty planes - Block planes - Sharpening stone, for sharpening plane irons - Clamp, used to secure wood block to workpiece Steps for How to Use a Hand Plane: 1. Bench planes are used to flatten and smooth broad wood surfaces and narrow edges. 2. Long bench planes are best suited for smoothing very long surfaces and edges. 3. Specialty planes, such as a shoulder plane or rabbet plane, have plane irons (blades) that come flush with the edges of the tool. 4. Block planes are compact, versatile, and ideally suited for smoothing edges, small surfaces, and end grain. 5. Rotate the adjusting nut to control the depth of cut. 6. Pivot the lateral adjustment lever to square up the iron to the plane body. 7. Release the iron cap and extract the plane iron from the plane. 8. Test the sharpness of an iron by standing it on your thumbnail. If the iron slides off, it needs sharpening. 9. To sharpen a plane iron, start by applying machine oil to the coarse side of a sharpening stone. 10. Set the iron against the oiled stone with its beveled end facing down. 11. Tilt up the iron until its bevel is flush with the stone. Maintain that exact angle as you slowly rub the iron across the stone in a circular motion. 12. After a minute or two, flip over the iron and place it flat against the stone. Rub the iron back and forth to remove any burr from the back surface. 13. Next, flip the stone over to reveal its smooth surface. Apply oil and repeat the sharpening process. 14. Then raise the iron just a fraction of an inch, and make two or three passes across the stone. 15. Repeat the thumbnail test of Step 8 to check the iron's sharpness. 16. When planing the narrow edge of a board, inspect the direction of the wood grain on the side of the board. 17. Always plane in the direction of the up-angling wood grain. Don't plane against it. 18. Adjust the throat (mouth) of the plane to increase or decrease the gap between the plane iron and the bed of the plane. The proper adjustment will help prevent tearing out the grain. 19. Decrease the gap when planing end grain, and increase it when planing edge grain or making deep cuts. 20. When planing end grain, prevent tear-out by planing in from both ends toward the middle. 21. Another technique is to clamp a sacrificial wood block to the end of the board prior to planing. Then, any tear-out will occur in the block, not the board. Wheelstanding Dump Truck! Stubby Bob’s Comeback - Roadkill Ep. 52
Bam! Stubby Bob goes big-time in this episode of Roadkill, presented by Dodge. In episode 44 of Roadkill, Mike Finnegan and David Freiburger took a 1950 Ford F6 dump truck and shortened the wheelbase to just 102 inches so it would look freaky-cool—but the truck wasn’t road trip–ready by the end of the show. This time, the truck is transformed by a supercharged big-block Chevy in the back with a Gearstar 4L80E transmission and a V-drive from a boat—all set up like a ’60s dragstrip exhibition wheelstander. But as the buildup continues, the big question is whether the weight balance and the massive dualie tires will really allow the truck to jerk the wheels off the pavement or not. The answer is some action you can’t miss. Roadkill is supported by Optima Batteries, CRC Industries, Lincoln Tech, Cooper Tire, Pioneer, and Jegs! Testing some M35 COBALT drill bits from Banggood... Excellent, High quality product...!!!
In this video, I'll be testing some M35 Cobalt drill bits I ordered from Banggood an Asian Trade company in the same fashion as Amazon or Aliexpress. I'm testing the drill bits to their limits against more popular and cheaper drills. The prices for those drill bits is really good and the overall quality of the product is surprisingly good no regard to the price. I will test the Banggood drills against some popular products available in Canada ( Canadian Tire ) and in the USA ( Harbor Freight ), to my surprise the Banggood M35 Cobalt drill bits will perform very good in increasingly harder test materials up to at least 47 Rockwell on the C scale. Those drill bits would make an excellent everyday set that will drill into just about everything and last a long time. Just make a note that their 135 degrees grind make them perform better in harder materials, if you need to cut mostly in softer alloys or aluminum you could regrind the tips at 118 deg. My opinion of those drill bits is that it will perform very nicely with everyday operations in hard alloys steels and can easily be reground if needed. How to Install a Storm Door with a Dog Door
Watch the full episode: https://www.thisoldhouse.com/watch/ask-toh-hot-water-storm-door Ask This Old House general contractor Tom Silva helps a homeowner install a storm door with her active dog in mind. Click here to SUBSCRIBE to the official This Old House YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=thisoldhouse Time: 1-2 hours Cost: $250 Skill Level: Moderate Tools List for Installing a Storm Door with a Dog Door: Drill/Driver Caulking Gun 1/8” drill bit 3/8” drill bit 3/32” drill bit Shopping List: Storm Door with Dog Door Caulking Steps: 1. Measure the door where the storm door will go and be sure to get the right size. In this case, the door is 80” x 36.” 2. Measure to ensure the door is square before you install the storm door. Use the 3-4-5 method to help. The jamb is three feet wide at the top. Use a tape measure to measure down 4 feet. Hold the tape measure at that point and measure at an angle to the top of the jamb. If the measurement is 5 feet, the door jamb is square. 3. The hinge can go on either side, but conventionally the hinge will match the hinge on the current door. 4. Match up the primer hole in the hinge to the hole in the storm door. Use a drill/driver to fasten the first screw in along the hinge. 5. The rest of the holes will need to be drilled first. Use a 1/8” drill bit on a drill/driver to make the holes. Use drill/driver to fasten the remainder of the screws along the hinge. 6. To attach the hinge to the door jamb, push the storm door up flush with the frame and drop it just a touch. Then drill one screw in the middle to fasten the hinge on the outside of the frame and a second on the inside of the jamb. 7. Close the storm door and check to see if it fits. 8. Finish off the screws on the interior of the hinge jamb using a drill/driver. 9. Extend the extension piece at the base of the storm door to ensure it is flush with the threshold. 10. Drill in the remainder of the screws on the exterior of the hinge jamb into the casing. 11. Run a thin bead of caulk along the drip cap for the storm door. 12. Place the drip cap along the top of the storm door and push it flush to the casing. 13. Move the drip cap up just slightly to create an even gap along the top of the storm door. 14. Use a drill/driver to fasten screws along the drip cap. 15. Run a bead of caulking across the top of the drip cap following installation as an added weather barrier. 16. Line up striker side of the storm door jamb to the casing and use a drill/driver to fasten in the screws. 17. Line up hardware so it will not butt up against current hardware on the current door. 18. Line up template with predetermined placement of hardware. Use a 3/8” drill bit to bore out the center hole for the hardware using a drill/driver. Use 1/8” drill bit for the two remaining holes. 19. Attach the hardware using screws and drill/driver. 20. Line up the latch on the jamb to the hardware and use screws and drill/driver to fasten. 21. Attach compressor to either the top or the bottom of the door. Use a drill/driver to fasten the hook to the jamb. 22. Use a 3/32” drill bit to bore out holes in the base or top of the door. Use these holes to attach the compressor to the storm door with a drill/driver and screws. Install the adjustable sweep at the bottom to keep drafts out. DIY PVC Pipe Train Whistle – How to make
PVC Pipe Train Whistle – How to make Today I will show you how to make a simple train whistle with multiple tones using some PVC pipe. This design consists of 3 individual whistles combined to make the familiar train whistle sound. To make this project, you will need some 1/2-inch PVC pipe & fittings, a 5/8-inch wooden dowel, a saw, a hammer, a ruler, and a metal file or sand paper. I first cut the PVC into 4, 6, and 8 inch pipes. These lengths are important because they help determine the tone of each pipe. It is possible to tune each whistle to a specific musical key by adjusting the lengths further, but I wanted to keep it simple, so I chose 4, 6, and 8. Next cut a notch about 1-inch from one end of the first pipe. The angle of the notch is important to help make the sound. The first cut needs to be at a 90 degree angle. The second cut needs to be at 45 degrees. Both cuts need to intersect about half way through the pipe. Now take the wooden dowel and place it next to the pipe on the notch side. Cut a piece just shorter than the small section of the pipe. Then using a file, flatten one side of the wood, removing around 1/8 of the diameter. Next the dowel needs to be hammered into the PVC. MAKE SURE THE FLATTENED SIDE IS FACING OUT TOWARDS THE NOTCH. The dowel needs to be inserted until the front edge is level with the 90 degree cut of the notch. Then repeat these steps for the other two pipes. The rest of the assembly is pretty simple. Placing an end cap on the long side of the PVC should complete each whistle. Test each one to make sure it works and make adjustments if needed. Using some additional pipe and fittings, I combined all three pipes together to make the train whistle sound. The sizes and lengths of these additional pieces are not critical, so customized them as you wish. Now you can have fun with your new whistles! Home Machine Shop Tool Making - Making A Versatile Bluing Tray
Making A Versatile Bluing Tray, by Clickspring. The heat blued finish put on some steel parts by clock and watchmakers is quite dependent on a consistent, even heat being applied to the part. Smaller parts like short screws can be heated on a thick piece of brass with holes drilled to accept the threaded portion of the screw. Larger parts are best heated on a bed of brass chips, held within some sort of tray. For some time I've been using a tray cobbled together from brass scraps, so in this video I make a more permanent version. Thanks for watching. The handle is fine too, so I'll cut that off, and re-use it. I'm also going to make 2 versions of the tray, that can screw onto the end of the handle as required. 0:01:24 One will be the more permanent version of the brass shavings tray I just spoke of, and the other will be a plate version, with holes in it for for screws. This time with small holes! I can also make more variations on the idea in the future, and reuse that handle. 0:02:04 I then formed a thread on the end of the handle. I then formed a thread on the end of the rod. The feet for the bluing pan are a reasonably straight forward part, with a taper on one end, and a thread on the other. And I quite like holding small parts like this with an ER collet, 0:02:54 The opposing features will be closer to being concentric, and it gives a much better grip on the part than the three jaw chuck. I started out by forming the tapered profile, setting up the lathe to cut a 10 degree included angle. 0:04:10 The tray that will hold the shavings is fabricated from 2 parts that are silver soldered together, so I spent a bit of time getting the surfaces clean and well fluxed, before making the join. All of the outside surfaces now need a good trim, and to do that I need the part running reasonably true before making the cut - another great job for the bump centering tool. 0:07:33 Now I'm going to lightly rivet the ends of the feet once they've been screwed in place, so I'm forming a decent countersink on the top side, to give the metal somewhere to flow as its displaced. 0:08:05 In good quality clock and watchmaking, heat bluing is traditionally used as a final surface finish on some steel parts As the part is heated an oxide forms on the surface. The thickness of the oxide is directly related to the temperature of the part. The hotter it gets, the thicker the layer. 0:08:21 The color comes from a light effect called Thin Film Interference. To get a uniform color, its essential that the thin film of oxide is uniform in thickness across the whole part, which in turn means that the temperature must be uniform, hence all the effort in making this bluing tray. 0:08:39 The colors move through a range starting at a light straw, and then passing through brown, purple and blue, to a light grey, after which the thin film effect is no longer visible. The composition of the steel, cleanliness and surface finish all play a role in the way the oxide forms, and so can directly influence the quality of the final color. MIG Welding Techniques for Building a Mild Steel Roll Cage
Using proper MIG welding techniques in roll cage fabrication with mild steel is critical to achieving weld quality, and many race cars must pass certification with qualified welds. Fabricating roll cages involves many different joint angles, so MIG gun nozzle placement is key to proper weld fusion. Chris Jarman, owner of Michigan-based fab shop Eliminator Kustoms, shows how to weld a roll cage with a Millermatic® 212 Auto-Set™ MIG welder and discusses the various tube angles involved — 90 degrees, 45 degrees and 30 degrees. Jarman also demonstrates proper pull and drag welding methods, and how you can decide which method you should use in MIG welding. Vinyl Fence Installation Tips: Attaching the Gate
You've installed the fence posts and gates, and now its time to attach the gate. First, measure the clearance for the gate and hinges. Lay a wooden board on the ground to mark where the gate will be, and then mark the position of the next post. Dig the hole and set the post inside. After filling with concrete, it is time to install the gate hardware. Make sure to attach all gate hinges before hanging the actual vinyl gate. Once the hardware is in place, set the gate on wood blocks to the desired height. To finish off the gate, screw in the hinges, handle and latch lever. The only steps remaining in the fence installation process is adding vinyl fence post caps. Simply insert vinyl cement inside the post cap and place on top of your fence posts. How to Make an Extreme Wooden Vise – Quick Edition This is a short video of how I made my Wooden Vise. Since I first made this vise a year and a half ago I’ve received many hundreds of emails from people who wanted a shorter version. So, this is it; 14 minutes instead of the original Hour & a Half. This is a serious vise and has the full grip strength of a real metal vise. I use it daily and it would make a wonderful addition to any shop. This is the most fun project I have built in probably over 20 years. And to top that off, I also get to use it every day in my shop! I decided that I wanted a bench vise for my shop, when my old one was finally seeming too small for everything. I went looking for one, and the more I looked the more I was intrigued by how they worked. I studied the parts involved and realized that they are not really all that difficult to build. There are really only 6 or 7 parts to the standard bench vise, and I could just build them one at a time. I decided to use all exotic lumber for the build because this was something that I wanted to keep forever, and really cherish. Also, exotics were also very hard and durable. The perfect wood for a vise. Although, it could just as easily be built out of a domestic hardwood such as oak or cherry and still be very durable. I needed to get only a small board of African Padauk, and one of Purpleheart. The rest of the exotic pieces I picked up either from Rockler or Woodcraft in their turning blank section. And since I always like to have a bunch of turning blank pieces around, I had all that I needed already in my shop. I spent a while perfecting the design for absolute maximum strength and ease of building. If you decide you need to build one too, you can pick up a set of plans from my website. They are extremely detailed 3D plans, and you can easily build this vise from them. If you went out and purchased all of the most expensive exotics for your build, it would cost about $250.00 - $300.00. That’s a whole lot less than the price of a bench vise with 12” jaws. Even if it is a cheap vise. So, not only can you save money, you can have the pride of doing it yourself. If you used something like oak, you can do this build for maybe $25 - $35, and a lot of the pieces, you probably have sitting in your scrap pile, since many of them are small. Corrugated Metal Fence with WOOD posts CHEAP fast EASY
See even more great ideas at www.CAmericaProjects.com Corrugated Metal Fence with Wooden Posts This is Craig for Capn America Projects. Thanks for joining us again. You might have seen one of our previous ideas, we showed you how to do a laminate fence. Now we are going to show you how to do a corrugated fence with wooden posts. So come along and join us in our adventure and we will put this fence up together. The first thing you want to do is run your strings when you are doing your fence. You want to make sure you have nice straight lines so what I did is I made a nice straight line from the corners of where the fence is going to go. That gives you a good idea of where to dig. Normally you would have the string several inches back before you dig. What I've done is made the string a couple of feet off the ground so that when I dig with my post hole digger I can line it up and dig it out as an angle and push the string back as I dig. The reason I'm doing it this way is that the neighbors have an old decayed fence and I don't ant to mess with taking it out. That is not my fence so I'm going to put my fence as close to that as I can and basically just hide that fence and if they ever want to take that out then that is great. Then they can enjoy the nice fence that I'm going to be putting up. Where the strings meet there just straight down from there and that will be the first hole. Lets get it started. I got my hole done and unfortunately I ran in to water. This is not something you want to have. The water is about 16 inches down. I dug my hole almost two feet down and then filled up to about the 6 inch mark. If I had some gravel I would put some gravel in there. That way the post isn't buried in water because that is definitely going to make the post rot quicker than I wanted to. I have eight foot poles. You want to go about two feet down and have 6 feet up because a typical residential fence is 6 feet tall. We have all of our posts cemented in. Lets have a look. If you notice on a couple of these I used some wood forms to help shape it in. That is because the ground was a little low here and I needed the cement to come above the ground a bit because I can only dig down so deep because of the water table. There you have our nice row of posts. Here is a quick tip. If you live in a cold wet climate then you want to wait longer for the cement to dry. Three days later. The next thing we are going to do is drill our holes in the metal and go ahead and mount the metal to the posts. Here we go. I like to drill my holes while the sheets are laying on the ground. I just put it on the grass and I can drill through easy instead of trying to drill while I'm putting them up. I'm going to go ahead and put my sheet in place and screw it in. What I'm using is these metal lave screws because they have a nice flat under part of the head that gives it alot of space to grip on to the other metal. The way I do it when I'm putting them in is I line up the two sheets of metal. Then I put in just the to[ screw on the next sheet I'm doing that way I can move it and level it. Then I come down to the next post and now since only the one screw is in then I can raise or lower this until I get it level. I'm judging level by the posts which are already level so you can eyeball it to make it in to a nice straight line and then screw it in. If you have soft wood you can start the screw by hand and then use the drill to finish it off. Then put in the rest of the screws. I have all of the bottom panels finished.Since we are at a wet climate I'm just going to put in the bottom sheets at first to wait longer to put more weight on the posts so that the cement can dry out a bit more. I will come back in about a week and put up the rest. I put the wood on the inside because I like to see the contrast of the wood against the metal. You can put the metal sheets on the inside if you prefer. A couple of weeks later. We now have all of the metal sheets on and you can see our whole fence here. I think it can out pretty nice. We have one more step we are going to do. This is a two man job so one person holds it at one end and the other person screws it in at the other. We did a little bit of overlap on all the metal about an inch to make it stronger. We have decided to put two by fours along the seams to make it look nice and also to make the fence stronger. I will pre drill the holes on the 2 x 4 . To do a good angle, you start going straight and then when you get in a little bit you angle it toward the final drill direction. I like to already start the screws before you put the board up so that they will be ll ready to go. Then I do the other side, same thing. Now we will screw in the 2 x 4. You need two people. One person holds one end and the other screws in the other end. We have the main structure of the fence done. Here you go, here is the final fence. Thanks for watching!

Removing A Stuck Bolt When All Else Fails
When you've got a bolt that has a rounded off head, it's hard, and very frustrating, to try to get it loose. On this stuck bolt, I tried a socket, vice grip pliers and even a pipe wrench, but couldn't get it off. Because the head was rounded off, and the position the bolt was in... well, I just couldn't get a good enough bite on it to loosen it. So... what to do? Well here is a great... last resort way... for removing a stuck, rounded-off bolt... when all else fails.
